Episode 283: Up Against the Wally!
On the very next day, Sora was preparing a change on his team before the battle. Sora exchanged Sudowoodo, Banette, Gliscor, Rhydon, and Crawdaunt for Glalie, Hariyama, Aggron, Swellow, and Swampert. Wally was pretty nervous himself, but he didn't get to where he is now by giving up, nor was it going to be an option.
"I can do this," Wally said. "I know I can do this." Just before the battle offically begun he and Galadde went over their last minute breathing exercise to prepare themselves. Roserade, Azumarill, Delcatty, Altaria, and Magnezone were doing the same thing. Max saw Wally along with his Pokémon and approached him.
"Wally?" Max asked. Wally turned to Max with a smile.
"Hi Max," Wally greeted.
"What are you doing, Wally? Aren't you going to be late for your match with Sora?" Max asked.
"I was about to head there now. Just doing some last minute excercise before we get started," Wally said. "I kinda knew this was bound to happen either I wanted it to or not."
"Aren't you worried about losing?" Max asked.
"To be honest, I am. But it's okay. I was worried about losing my Pokémon battles when I first began my journey. But, if I keep obsessing over it, then I would be no different thatn Morrison for how he acted yesterday. SoraIf I did, he would just snap me out of it just like he did with him. So, I'm going to go out there and give it everything I've got. For Brendan, for May, for Sora, and for myslef," Wally said. Max smiled as he looked at Wally and saw how he changed since then. He wasn't the same person Max knew when he was little. Wally has more confidence than he had before.
Sora stepped out along with Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, the Pichu, Meowth, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua as they headed for the stadium for his battle against Wally.
In the stadium, Brendan had won his battle against the girl when his Charizard took on a Feraligatr. The referee raises the green flag
"Feraligatr is unable to battle! Charizard wins! Brendan wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"Brendan takes down Jessica in the first battle of the quarter-finals! Our next battle shall begin momentarily," the announcer announced. Riku, Naminé, Lillie, Elio, Selene, and Team Chaotix satdown as My had cheered for Brendan for his win. Max joins in with his sister.
"Did you find Wally?" May asked.
"I did. He was doing some breathing excercising before it got started," Max said.
"Was he nervous?" May asked.
"No. He was confident," Max said.
"The battle between him and Sora is going to begin any moment. Is Kairi with him?" May asked.
"Always," Lillie said. "She said she was going to join up with us as soon as Sora got to the locker room." With that said, Kairi, Ventus, Terr, Aqua, Angel, Meowth, and the Pichu has shown up. "We were just talking about you, Kairi."
"Glad that we made it just in time," Kairi said.
"You think Sora is going to win this?" Elio asked.
"Of course he is!" Morrison said, joining up with the others. "How could he not after that battle he gave me yesterday?"
"He's right. Sora is the best trainer I know. There's no way he'll lose to anyone," Ventus said.
"Ven, Sora was in a tight situation with Kaitie, if you remember," Aqua told him.
"I know, but Sora still won," Ventus said.
"Becuase he didn't give up. But, I wouldn't count out Wally, becuase he made his way though to make it to the finals," Brendan said, joining with the other. He sat next to his girlfriend and wraps his arm on her shoulder.
"Congrats on your win, Brendan," Riku said.
"Thanks Riku. Now, it's Sora and Wally's turn to shine, so I'm going to root for the both of them," Brendan said.
"Me too!" May said.
"This should be fun to watch," Charmy said.
"It should. Let's see what happens here," Vector said.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our second battle of the quarter-finals is about to begin! After this match, only the winning trainer will be moving on as among the final four trainers! The battle will be between Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town and Wally from Petalburg City! These two fought some fierce battles to make it as the top eight, so let's see how well these two young gladiators do in this bout!" The announcer announced as the computer chooses a grass battlefield. "The first round is going to be a grass battlefield!" Sora and Wally each took out a Pokéball and prepared to throw it.
"Go! Altaria!" Wally shouted as his Altaria made its entrance. Sora threw his Pokéball.
"Go! Glaie!" Sora shouted as Glalie made his entry in the battle. He glares at the humming Pokémon and it does the same thing.
"Wally's first choice is Altaria as Sora has chosen Glalie!" The announcer announced.
"Begin the battle!" The referee announced.
"Glalie! Use Ice Beam!" Sora ordered. Glalie fires Ice Beam right at the Dragon and Flying Type Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Altaria!" Wally ordered. Altaria flew to avoid Glalie's attack. "Now, use Flamethrower!" Altaria fires Flamethrower right at the face Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Glaie!" Sora called out. Glalie floats out of the way to avoid Altaria's Flamethrower.
"Altaria attempts to melt Glalie's ice with Flamethrower and Glalie dodges! Sora isn't taking any chances here!" The announcer announced. Altaria lands a hit onto Glalie. "Altaria delivers a Flamethrower on the mark!" Sora calls back his Glalie. "Sora calls back his Glalie and prepares to send oout his next one!" Sora takes out his next Pokéball.
"Go! Aggron!" Sora called out Aggron makes his appearence.
"Sora has sent out his Aggron!" The announcer announced.
"Altaria! Flamethrower!" Wally ordered.
"Aggron! Dodge and use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Aggron fires Rock SLide and lands a hit onto Altaria. "Finish up with Metal Claw!" Aggron swipes at Altaria and brings it down. The referee raises the green flag.
"Alataria is unable to battle! Aggron wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead by striking down Altaria with Aggron's Metal Claw! What does Wally hope for his comeback?" The announcer asked. Wally calls back Altaria.
"You deserve a good rest," Wally said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Your turn now, Magnezone!" Magnezone makes its entrance onto the battlefield, awaiting orders.
"Wally's second Pokémon is a Magnezone!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Aggron and takes out his next Pokéball.
"Your turn now, Hariyama!" Sora called out as Hariyama makes his entry in battle.
"Now, Sora has sent oout his Hariyama! Sora had the upperhand right from the start, but let's see if he has one right to the finish!" The announcer announced.
"Magnezone! use Magnet Bomb!" Wally ordered. Magnezone fires Magnet Bomb right at Hariyama.
"Block with Arm Thrust!" Sora ordered. Hariyama blocks by throwing his large hand to block the attack.
"Hariyama uses its huge hand to block Magnet Bomb A good uses of Arm Thurst!" The announcer announced.
"Now, use Arm Thurust again, Hariyama!" Sora called out. Hariyama heads for Magnezone and lands Arm Thrust to the magnet zone Pokémon.
"Magnezone! Tri-Attack!" Wally ordered. Magnezone fires Tri-Attack and lands a hit onto the arm thrust Pokémon.
"Hariyama takes a blast form that Tri-Attack! And Magnezone is ready to land another hit on its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Magnezone! Use Flash Cannon!" Wally ordered. Magnazone fires Flash Cannon right at its opponent.
"Arm Thrust through that Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Hariyama uses his Arm Thurst to push through the attack.
"Hariyama is pushing its way through that Flash Cannon! What an incredible maneuver from this Fighting Type!" The announcer announued. Hariyama lands a successful hit onto Magnezone.
"Now, use Seismic Toss!" Sora ordered. Hariyama grabs Magnezone and gives it a toss straight down to the battlefield. Magnezone makes landing, but Sora knew it wasn't down yet. "Hariyama! Finish it with Brick Break!" Hariyama slams his hand onto Magnezone, resulting in a knockout. The referee raises the green flag.
"Magnezone is unable to battle! Hariyama wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's two Wally has lost to Sora! Which one will Wally send out next?" The announcer asked as he calls back his Magnezone and throws it.
"Go! Delcatty!" Wally called out as his Delcatty makes its appearence on the battlefield.
"Wally's third Pokémon is Delcatty! Sora's Hariyama has the advantage being a Fighting Type against a Normal Type!" The announcer announced.
"Delcatty! Use Assist!" Wally ordered. Delcatty uses Assist and it came out as Tri-Attack. It struck Hariyama hard. Hariyama became totally paralyzed.
"Delcatty's Assist came out as Tr-iAttack! Hariyama is now paralyzed from that hit!" The announcer announced.
"Uh-oh," Sora said.
"Delcatty! Use Hyper Beam!" Wally ordered. Delcatty fires Hyper Beam and lands a hit onto Hariyama.
"Delcatty lands a hit with a destructive Hyper Beam!" The announcer announced. Hariyama fell to the ground beaten. The referee raises the red flag.
"Hariyama is unable to battle! Delcatty wins!" The referee announced.
"Wally has taken down Sora's Hariyama! How will Sora respond?" The announcer announced. Sora takes out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Swellow!" Sora called out as Swellow takes flight.
"Sora's fourth Pokémon is his Swellow!" The announcer announced. Wally calls back Delcatty and throws his next Pokéball.
"Go! Azumarill!" Wally called out as his Azumarill makes its appearence in battle.
"And Wally switches Delcatty with Azumarill!" The announcer announced.
"Azumarill! Rollout! Azumarill rolls into a ball and jumps to reach Swellow.
"Swellow! Dodge and use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Aerial manges to avoid Azumarill's Rollout and lands a hit onto the aqua rabbit Pokémon. "Now use Wing Attack!" Swellow pelts Azumarill with his wings. "Wing Attack again and again!" Swellow keeps coming down with Wing Attack again and again and again.
"Swellow is giving Azumarill a real pounding with Wing Attack! Wally better come up something fast or else, it'll be all over for Azumarill!" The announcer announced.
"Azumarill! Use Aqua Tail!" Wally ordered. Water emits from Azumarill's tail as Azumarill swings its tail around like a mace and smacks into Swellow.
"Azumarill lands a direct hit with that Aqua Tail!" The announcer announced.
"Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Swellow darts towards the aqua rabbit Pokémon, hoping to land a pretty good hit on it. Wally wasn't going to call it quits just yet.
"Azumarill! Aqua Tail again!" Wally ordered. Azumarill tries to land another Aqua Tail, but Swellow lands a heavy blow, sending Azumarill back.
"Swellow lands a good clean hit with that Aerial Ace!" The announcer announced. Azumarill had been taken down. The referee raises the green flag.
"Azumarill is unable to battle! Swellow wins!" The referee announced.
"And Azumarill makes three for Sora's favor! Both trainers will be taking a fifteen minute break while we do a field change!" The announcer announced.
"Wow, Wally's giving everything he's got," May said.
"Wally did lose half of his team already," Max said.
"It doesn't matter," Riku said. "Wally has gotten much stronger since my battle with him."
"Riku's right. Wally did some training for this. I think he wanted to be paired up with Sora," Brendan said.
In the locker room, Wally sighed as he sat down.
"This is even more tougher than I thought. And Sora's even tougher than I remember," Wally said.
"But you're even tougher than the last time," Sora said. He turned to see his opponent.
"You think so?" Wally asked.
"I don't think so. I know so. The way you're battling is proof enough to me. You even took down my Hariyama with your Delcatty's Hyper Beam," Sora said.
"I'm just doing my best out there. And that's what you're expecting from me, isn't it?" Wally asked.
"Yeah. That's exactly right," Sora said.
"I'm glad that I am. To tell the turth, I was worried about losing to you because of your status as a Pokémon League Champion. But, Brendan wasn't worried one bit. Like us, he made it this far into the tournament and he never considered giving up as an option. That pretty much robbed off onto me. I was making myelf and my Pokémon strong. I don't expect to beat you in this battle, but I plan to try, so watch out, Sora," Wally said. Sora smiled as he nodded.
"That's what I like to hear. Like Morrison, Brendan, and I, you earned the right to be here. And I wanna see how much further you're willing to go," Sora said.
"As far as I'm going to push myslef," Wally said. They fist bumped. "And may the best trainer win."
"Same to you, Wally," Sora said.
With that said, Sora and Wally re-entered the battle as the field has turned into an ice field.
"Our fifteen minutes has passed as we now move on to the second of the battle! The second round of the battle will be fought on an ice field! Sora leads this battle with five reamaining with Wally with only three left! Only one of them is going to walk away a winner and move on among the final four trainers! And the question remains is, will Wally make a comeback, or will Sora remain in the lead until the battle's conclusion? We shall have to wait and see!" The announcer announced. Sora and Wally both took oout a Pokéball and prepares to throw it.
"Head back to play, Delcatty!" Wally called out as Delcatty re-enters the battle. Sora takes out Aggron's Pokéball and threw it.
"Aggron! Back to action!" Sora called out as Aggron comes back out to battle.
"Wally sends his Delcatty back out as Sora has sent out Aggron!" The announcer announced.
"Delcatty! Assist!" Wally ordered. Delcatty uses Assist and comes out as Petal Blizzard.
"Delcatty's Assist comes out as Petal Blizzard! Wally must be disappointed not witnessing the attack he wanted!" The announcer announced.
"Aggron! Dodge and use Iron Head!" Aggron avoids Petal Blizzard and then, comes at Delcatty with his head ready to strike at the prim Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Charge Beam!" Wally ordered. Delcatty tries to avoid Aggron's Iron Head and lands a hit onto Delcatty. But Delcatty fights back with a beam of electricity. Aggron takes a hit in the chest.
"Aggron takes a powerful Charge Beam and is still standing on its feet!" The announcer announced.
"That Delcatty is doing a number on Aggron," Elio said.
"Sure is," Vector agreed.
"Charge Beam has a seventy percent chance of increasing Special Attacks just by one stage when used," Max said.
"And that's not good for Sora," Naminé said.
"He's not going to go down that easily," Ventus said.
"He's right. Sora's not the Pokémon League Champion for nothing!" Morrison said.
"That's very true, Morrison. And Wally knows that too. He wants show everyone how serious he is and I think he wants Sora to know it; just like I know it," Kairi said. May had to agree since she knew Wally ever since she was little. She considered him a good friend as did Brendan. They both wihed him the best of luck. Wally was getting pyched to finsh this.
"Delcatty! Use Assist!" Wally ordered. Assist came out as Flash Cannon and lands a hit onto Aggron, finishing him off. The referee raises the red flag.
"Aggron is unable to battle! Delcatty wins!" The referee announced.
"Agrron is taken down by Flash Cannon, courtesy of Flash Cannon! Now, Sora is down to four! Wally may be making a comeback on Sora!" The announcer announced. Sora looked to Pikachu.
"Okay, Pikachu, you're up," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. Pikachu enters the battle.
"Sora's fifth Pokémon is Pikachu! Sparks will fly here on the ice field!" The announcer announced.
"Delcatty! Use Charge Beam!" Wally ordered. Delcatty fires Charge Beam to strike the mouse Pokémon on the spot.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu avoids Delcatty's Charge Beam with lightning speed. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings at Delcatty and lands a hit with Iron Tail. "Now, use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt and it gives Delcatty quite a shock.
"Pikachu is giving Delcatty an onslaught of attacks! No way Pikachu is going to go easy on it!" The announcer announced.
"Delcatty! Use Assist!" Wally ordered and it came out as Flamethrower.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Pikachu avoids Flamethrower. "Thuderbolt!" Pikachu lands a strong Thunderbolt and sends the prim Pokémon against an ice pillar. The referee raises the green flag.
"Delcatty is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee aanounced.
"Sora has derailed Wally's comeback as Wally is now down to two Pokémon left!" The announcer announced. Wally calls back his Delcatty and threw his next Pokéball.
"Go! Roserade!" Wally called out as his Roserade.
"Wally counters Pikachu with Roserade since Pikachu's electric attacks won't even phase it!" The announcer announced.
"Good work, Pikachu. Come back!" Sora called out. Pikachu returns to Sora's siide. Sora figured either Glalie or Swellow since they both have an advantage over Roserade. He decided to go with Swellow since he knows Gallade is a FIghting Type and is weak against Flying Type attacks. He threw Swellow's Pokéball. "Swellow! Back to action!" Swellow makes his re-entry.
"And it's Swellow back out again! Sora made a wise choice with this one!" The announcer announced.
"Roserade! Petal Blizard!" Wally ordered. Roserade fires a flurry of flower petals right at the swallow Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Swellow!" Sora ordered. Swellow flew to avoid Roserade's Petal Blizzard. Roserade kept firing Petal Blizzard again and again.
"Swellow avoids Roserade's Petal Blizzard with outstanding speed! But Roserade just keeps on going with its Petal Blizzard attack! Swellow is just moving too fast for Roserade to land a hit!" The announcer announced.
"Keep up with the dodges, Swellow!" Sora called out. Swellow kept avoiding Petal Blizzard and Roserade kept firing Petal Blizzard again and again.
"Sora, Swellow! Keep it up!" Ventus shouted.
"Keep fighting the fight, Sora! Kick loads of butt, just kicked mine, Sora!" Morrison added. Kairi knows Wally is saving Gallade for last since he caught him as a Ralts when she and Sora first arrived in Petalburg City and met him.
"Roserade! Use Magical Leaf!" Wally ordered. Roserade fires Magical Leaf and lands a hit onto the swallow Pokémon.
"Roserade fires Magical Leaf right Swellow and does some heavy damage!" The announcer announced.
"Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Swellow flew towards Roserade and lands a heavy hit. "Now, use Wing Attack!" Swellow smacks Roserade with his wings.
"Swellow is making good use of Wing Attack? How long will Roserade last?" The announcer asked.
"Use Synthesis!" Wally ordered. Roserade began to heal itself of its injuries, Roserade was partly healed.
"Shoot! Roserade healed itself of injuries! And I don't think Swellow's going to last much longer!" Sora said in his thoughts.
"Roserade recovers from injuries inflicted by Swellow! Sora will have to come up with something before he loses Swellow!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Swellow and brings out Glalie's Pokéball.
"Glalie! Back to action!" Sora called out as Glalie comes back to battle.
"Glalie makes its second appearance in this battle! Will this Ice Type Pokémon put this Grass Type on ice or will it get the same results as Swellow?" The announcer asked.
"Glalie! Use Ice Beam!" Sora ordered. Glalie fires Ice Beam right at the bouquet Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Roserade!" Wally called out. Roserade dodges Glalie's Ice Beam as best of its abilities, but then slips as Roserade is having trouble keeping on its feet because of the ice.
"Roserade is having trouble keeping its feet on the battlefield! It doesn't look good for Roserade and for Wally!" The announcer announced.
"Roserade! Try to keep your balance!" Wally called out.
"Glalie! Frost Breath!" Sora ordered. Glalie sends out Frost Breath and lands a critical hit on the bouquet Pokémon.
"Critical Hit!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Now use Ice Beam!" Sora ordered. Glalie fires Ice Beam and struck Roserade, freezing it inside an ice block.
"Now, Roserade is frozen solid in an ice block and can't seem to move!" The announcer announced.
"Roserade! Use Synthesis to recover!" Wally ordered. Roserade tries to heal, but the cold was too much for it.
"Finish it with Crunch!" Sora ordered. Glalie creates a yellow aura shaped like a set of teeth, which then bites down on Roserade, earning a knockout. The referee raises the green flag.
"Roserade is unable to battle! Glalie wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has taken down most of Wally's team, but now only one remains!" The announcer announced. Wally calls back Roserade and took out his last Pokéball.
"This is it," Wally said. He throws it. "Gallade! Go!" Gallade makes his entrance as he swings his arms.
"Wally's sixth and final Pokémon is Gallade! Wally has been saving this one for last!" The announcer announced.
"I knew he was saving Gallade for last," Kairi said. Everyone all looked at her.
"Why do you say that, Kairi?" Lillie asked.
"Wally had Gallade ever since he was a little Ralts, making him Wally's very first Pokémon. He was saving Gallade for last just to show Sora how stronger he's gotten since then. Wally would have probably done the same thing if he was against Brendan," Kairi said.
"That does make sense. Wally did want to have his own Pokémon before he went to Verdanturf Town to visit his relatives. I never thought Wally would get so good in a real short time," May said.
"Gallade! Begin with Brick Break!" Wally ordered. Gallade swings his arm down.
"Glalie! Dodge and use Crunch!" Sora ordered. Glalie avoids Gallade's Brick Break and moved in with Crunch, but Gallade lands a Brick Break on Glalie and earned a knock out from Gallade. The referee raises the red flag.
"Glalie is unable to battle! Gallade wins!" The referee announced.
"Gallade takes down Glalie with a sizzling Brick Break! sora still has three left to use! Which one will Sora use?" The announcer asked. Sora takes out Swellow's Pokéball and threw it.
"Swellow! Back to action!" Sora called out. Swellow comes back out and is still suffering from his injuries from his battle with Roserade.
"Swellow comes back out to battle! Sora's choice is just as good as Gallade is a FIghting Type Pokémon!" The announcer announcer anounced.
"Swellow! Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Swellow swoops down and darts towards Gallade with incredible speed.
"Gallade! Use Psycho Cut! And make it a powerful one!" Wally ordered. Gallade creates a psychokentic blade and sends it towards Swellow. The blade makes contact with Swellow and results in an explosion. Swellow fell to the ground, beaten. The referee raises the red flag.
"Swellow is unable to battle! Gallade wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora is now down to two left! This battle is really heating up more intense thatn before!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Swellow and sighed.
"Sorry to put you through that, Swellow. I should have remembered that I wouldn't find an fast win," Sora said. He looked over to Pikachu. "You willing to go back in it, Pikachu?"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu nodded.
"Then go get him," Sora said. Pikachu re-enters the battlefield. Gallade gets pumped up. Gallade hasn't forgotten his battle with Pikachu and lost. Gallade vows that the reults will not be the same as the last time.
"Now, it's Pikachu back out to battle! Gallade is getting fired up in this one!" The announcer announed.
Gallade! Psycho Cut!" Wally ordered. Gallade forms another blade of psyhic energy and sends it toewards the mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora called out. Pikachu runs to avoid Gallade's Psycho Cut.
"Nuse Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and sends it towards the blade Pokémon.
"Block with Psychic!" Wally ordered. Gallade blocks the attack with Psychic and sends it back to him.
"Block with Iron Tail!" Sora called out. Pikachu blocks Electro Ball with Iron Tail sending it right back to Gallade.
"Use Psycho Cut to cut that Electro Ball!" Wally ordered. Gallade lands a Psycho Cut and results in an explosion.
"Incredible! Gallade blocks Electro Ball with Psychic and then Pikachu sends it right back with Iron Tail, followed by Psycho Cut with an explosive result!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Gallade with his speed attack to land a hit.
"Gallade! Psychic!" Wally ordered. Gallade forms Psychic and picks up Pikachu in the air.
"Gallade uses Psychic to pick up Pikachu and stops Quick Attack! What an upset!" The announcer announced.
"Send Pikachu back!" Wally called out. Gallade sends Pikachu back with the force of Psychic and right to Sora's feet.
"Pikachu!" Sora gasped as the referee raises the red flag.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Gallade wins!" The referee announced.
"Now Sora and Wally has one Pokémon left to use! Which one is going to make it to the final round of the tournament and which one will be taking home the bronze?" The announcer asked. Sora pats Pikachu on the head.
"You gave it your best shot, Pikachu. That's all that matters, right?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"I won't let your efforts go to waste," Sora promised. He took out his next Pokéball and got ready to throw it. "It's up to you, now. Go! Swampert!" Sora threw it and his Swampert came out and ready to go.
"Sora's final Pokémon is his Swampert! This final round of the battle will decide on whose battle it'll be!" The announcer announced.
"Gallade! Go! Use Close Combat!" Wally ordered.
"Dodge and use Waterfall!" Sora ordered.
Gallade comes running towards Swampert to land an attack. When Gallade was close enough, Swampert dodges and comes at Gallade with Waterfall. Swampert lands a hit.
"Swampert makes a splashing start with that Waterfall!" The announcer announced.
"Use Psychco Cut!" Wally ordered.
"Muddy Water!" Sora ordered. Swampert fires Muddy Water as Galalde fires Psycho Cut. It results in an explosion. "Come at Gallade with Hammer Arm!" Swampert jumps and comes down with his arm ready to swing down at Gallade.
"Close Combat!" Wally ordered. Gallade comes at Swampert and starts to beat Swampert silly before the mud fish Pokémon could land a hit.
"Swampert has definitely gotten too close with to get pelted with Close Combat!" The announcer announced.
"Use Psycho Cut again!" Wally lands a Psycho Cut onto Swampert and it does some heavy damage.
"Swampert takes loads of damage from that Psycho Cut! I don't think it'll last much longer!" The announcer announced.
"Use Close Combat again!" Wally ordered. Gallade heads right for Swampert to land the finishing move.
"Swampert! Use Earthquake!" Swampert slams his hand on the ground as the stadium starts shaking. Gallde fell on his rear.
"Swampert has turned the tables on Gallade as it's been shaken up by that Earthquake!" The announcer announced.
"Now, use Hammer Arm!" Sora ordered. Swampert comes and heads for Gallade. The blade Pokémon stands up only to be slammed with Hammer Arm. Gallade is sent flying to a wall and is knocked out. The referee raises the green flag.
"Gallade is unable to battle! Swampert wins! Sora from Pallet Town is the winner!" The referee announced.
"And Sora makes it all the way to the final round! Both Soa and Brendan have earned the right to make it so far and only one of them is going to go right home with that winner's trophy!" The announcer announced as Wally went to help Gallade up on his feet.
"You did a good job, Gallade. You always do your best. And I couldn't be even more prouder of you than I already am," Wally said. Gallade was happy that he did his best for Wally. He went over to Sora as he shook his hand.
"Congratulations, Sora. You have earned the right to make it to the top," Wally said.
"You did your best too, Wally. You sure have gotten stronger since our last battle," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. I appreciate it," Wally said.
Night came as he sat down on a bench. Sora, Kairi, Brendan, and May all joined Wally as they all had some sea salt ice cream ready. Wally turned to his friends and gae them a smile. Kairi offered him an ice cream bar and Wally happily accepts it.
"You'll like this," Brendan said.
"Thank you," Wally said. "I heard this is great, but I never tried it until now." Wally took a bite and he liked the taste of the se salt ice cream. "This is good."
"Told you," Brendan said.
"Sorry that you didn't make it all the way to the championship," May said.
"To tell the truth, I didn't care that I did or not. All I wanted to do was have fun and do my best, and I met that goal. It was a fun ride while it lasted, but it all comes to end as it always does," Wally said.
"I know how that feels, Wally," Sora said. Wally takes another bite. "I didn't think I would make it all the way to the final round during the League competitions in Kanto and Johto, but I did. I'm not even sure if there was a right or wrong way of wining them."
"But you did get far becuase you worked hard to make it all the way to the top, Sora. I know because I watched you during the Johto Pokémon League and I got inspired. To tell the truth, I wanted you to make it all the way to the top with me, just so we can have our battle and now, tomorrow, it's finally going to be a reality. I know I'm going to give it my all, so be ready," Brendan said. Sora chuckled.
"You're on, Brendan. I'm looking forward to seeing how much stronger you got since the last time," Sora said.
"You can count on it!" Brendan said.
Now that the stage has been set, only one of these two trainers will make it all the way to the top to become champion. Will it be Sora or will it be Brendan? The final chapter of this exciting tournament shall reveal it all and come out in an epic clash, so stay tuned!
