Episode 284: Hoenn Final Battle
It was now the day of the final round of the tournament. Brendan prepares his team. He decided to have Sceptile and Charizard as among the six. He also took his Raichu, Salamence, Metagross, and Feraligatr as his final four. Just before he could start, he went over the information on Sora and saw quite a spread of Pokémon he has.
"Man, that's quite a haul. Dragonite, Incineroar, Primarina, Typhlosion, even an Ultra Beast. Also, that Silvally and Melmetal. Thse are real powerful Pokémon. With the team I have gotten together, I'm ready for anything," Brendan said, logging off. He stepped out only to bump into someone. "Ow! That hurts!"
"Sorry about that, young man," a familiar voice spoke. Brendan recognized that voice. He saw it was his father.
"Dad?!" Brendan exclaimed. Professor Birch saw it was his son he bumped into.
"Son! I don't believe it! It's really you!" Professor Birch said.
"I'm happy to see you, dad, but what are you doing here?" Brendan asked.
"What do you think? I came here to root for my boy in this momentous occasion! I would have come a lot sooner, but you know how I get sidetracked with my work," Professor Birch said. Brendan laughed nervously.
"And it's any wonder that mom puts up with it at all," Brendan said under his breath. "Anyway, have you gotten a hold of mom since getting here?"
"Actually, it was your mother who contacted me and filled me in. As soon as I heard that you made it to the finals, I dropped what I was doing and got here as fast as I could. And that timing is just so perfect to see you in the final round! Congrats!" Professor Birch praised his son. "Again, sorry for not being here sooner."
"It's okay, dad. What matters is that you made it here," Brendan said.
"Also, I heard from Norman that you're in a relationship with his daughter, is that right?" Professor Birch teased, making Brendan blush.
"Dad!" Brendan exclaimed, making him laugh. "Wait, when exactly did you find out?"
"Just a few days ago. Caroline told your mother and Norman told me. And I could tell you, your mother busted a button when she heard the news. I knew you had a thing for her when you were little," Professor Birch said, making Brendan blush.
"You knew about my crush, dad?" Brendan asked.
"Can't fool me, kiddo. I knew right from the day you and she met. I knew you would be happy to get your first Pokémon right at the same time, so I personally arranged the two of you to meet again," Professor Birch admitted.
"Yeah, but you also brought Sora and Kairi with you too. And speaking of Sora, that's who I'm up against in the final battle," Brendan said.
"Is that right? It shoudn't surprise me since he made it so far after his journeys in the Kanto and Johto regions. Also, I heard Kairi has accomplished so much as well," Professor Birch said.
"Yeah, but May got second in the Grand Festival. She came so close," Brendan said. "I plan on giving it all I got against Sora."
"I know you will, son. Just know that I'll always be proud of you win or lose. All that matters is that you do your best. Your mother will be watching on TV as I'll be watching you from the stands," Professor Birch said.
"Thanks, dad," Brendan said.
Over to Sora, he exchanged Swampert, Hariyama, Aggron, Swellow, and Glalie for Blastoise, Decidueye, Blaziken, Absol, and Tropius. Once that was done, he stepped out to get ready for the battle.
"Here goes," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
Over in Alola, eight of the Alolan nine along with the Mane Seven, Spike, Dingodile, Time Man, Oil Man, the Kongs, Hunter, Bianca, Shiela, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley, and Agent 9 are at the Pokémon School watching the event. They're joined by Sarah and Harper as they sat in Bentley's lap. Lana was worried about they yeti scaring them, but they weren't afraid of him one bit. All of their Pokémon were out watching the event as well. Joining them are Professors Kukui and Burnet along with their infant son.
In Pallet Town, Delia, Professor Oak, Lea, Isa, Yuta, Mirei, Kairi's grandmother, Danny, Cattleya, Mimey, and Comfey are watching the event on TV as well. All of Sora and Kairi's other Pokémon were watching the battle from the outside. Danny and Cattleya were watching from the start and right to the end.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now aboout to begin the concluding battle here in the Evergrande Stadium! The final battle between Sora from Pallet Town is up against Brendan from LIttleroot Town! This will be a full six-on-six battle and the battle will be over when all of either trainer's Pokémon are unabe to keep on battling! Which one will emerge victorious? Will be Sora to earn a third Pokémon League Champion title in a row, or will it Brendan? This battle shall decide that fact once and for all!" The announcer announced. Drew is among the spectators to witness the battle between them. Wallace, Steven, Lisia, and all the members of the Hoenn Elite four were also watching it from their booth. Among them Haruhi, her friends, Renton, Eureka, Seji, his sister, his girlfriend, Scheris, and Momoko were watching the final battle about to begin. Kairi, Angel, Meowth, the Pichu, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lillie, Elio, Selene May, Max, Wally, Morrison, and Team Choatix were together fo the event. Brendan got a Pokéball ready and threw it.
"You're going in first, Raichu!" Brendan called out as his Raichu makes its entry. Sora looked over to Pikachu and knew he wants to go up against Raichu.
"You're in first, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, entering the battlefield.
"Brendan begins the match by sending out a Raichu while Sora is sending out Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Start up with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. PIkachu dashed right towards his evolved form with lightning speed.
"We'll use Quick Attack too! Raichu! Go!" Brendan ordered. Raichu ran across the battlefield and collides with Pikachu.
"Pikachu and Raichu begin with coming at each other with Quick Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"Raichu! Use Thunder!" Brendan ordered. Pikachu and Raichu both use their electric attacks and they block each other.
"Pikachu and Raichu are putting everything they have in Thunderbolt and Thunder! What a real clash of power!" The announcer announced.
"Use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumps to use Iron Tail at Raichu.
"Raichu! Use Reflect!" Brendan ordered. Raichu makes a clear barrier and Pikachu's Iron Tail bounces off.
"Pikachu's Iron Taail bounces off with Raichu's Reflect!" The announcer announced.
"Now, it's time to let out Raichu's strongest move! Use Volt Tackle!" Brendan ordered as Raichu comes at Pikachu with a powerful electric chage.
"Iron Tail right into the ground!" Sora oordered. PIkachu slams his tail. Raichu rams into Pikachu and slides through the ground.
"Incredible! Pikachu uses Iron Tail and takes the hit from that Volt Tackle! Where does he come up with this stuff?!" The announcer exclaimed. Kairi remembered seeing this before.
"How come Pikachu just take Volt Tackle like that?" Ventus asked.
"That would have been a heavy blow, but it wasn't somehow," Terra said.
"I saw this before," Kairi said.
"You have?" Riku asked.
"It was when Sora had his rematch with Lt. Surge. But it's different now," Kairi said.
"Different how?" Aqua asked.
"When his Raichu sent out his Thunderbolt to finish off Pikachu, Pikachu used his tail as a spring and jumped out of the way. An old strategy, but a new twist," Kairi said.
"That's just like Sora to pull off a stunt like that," Lillie said.
"Wow, that was awesome! No one was ever to withstand Raichu's Volt Tackle like that! But it's not over yet!" Brendan said. "Keep going on Pikachu!"
"Pikachu! Push Raichu off!" Sora called out. Raichu attempts to go at it, but Pikachu pushes Raichu off and goes backwards. "Okay, Pikachu, don't overdo it! Come on back!" Pikachu returns to Sora's side.
"Sora's calling back his Pikachu to send out his next Pokémon!" The announcer announced as Sora took out his next Pokéball.
"Go for it, Tropius!" Sora called out as Tropius comes on out.
"Now, Sora has sent out his Tropius as his second Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Use Magical Leaf!" Sora ordered. Tropius sends out Magical Leaf and it struck Raichu hard. "Now use Hyper Beam!" Tropius fires Hyper Beam and it blasted Raichu. The mouse Pokémon had been taken out as the referee raises the green flag.
"Raichu is unable to battle! Tropius wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead by taking out Brendan's Raichu!" The announcer announced. Brendan calls back his Raichu and took out his next Pokéball.
"Your turn now! Go! Metagross!" Brendan called out. Brendan's Metagross stomps on the battlefield upon entry.
"Brendan's second Pokémon is Metagross! It dosen't look like Grass and Normal Type attacks are going to cut it with this Steel Type!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back his Tropius. "Sora makes a switch once again! He knew his Tropius won't be able to attack twice in a row after using Hyper Beam!" Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn, Decidueye!" Sora called out as he threw it. Decidueye flies on out upon entry.
"Sora's third Pokémon is his Decidueye! Sora has taken the typings to his favor since Decidueye is a Ghost Type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Now, to keep Metagross from going anywhere! Use Spirit Shackle!" Sora ordered. Decidueye fires an arrow and it struck the front of Metagross and results in a small explosion of blue fire-like energy.
"Sora isn't taking any chances of Brendan switching his Pokémon anytime with that Spirit Shackle! Useful when trying to capture Pokémon in the wild!" The announcer announced.
"Metagross! Use Meteor Mash!" Brendan ordered. Metagross comes at Decidueye, ready to strike.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Decidueye flies to avoid Metagross. "Now use Ominous Wind!" Decidueye flaps and it creates ghostly purplish winds and it stuck Metagross. "Now use Leaf Blade!" Decidueye comes at Metagross and lands a Leaf Blade on Metagross. Metagross wasn't going down that easily.
"Metagross is taking some serious blows, but not serious enough judging on how Metagross is taking it!" The announcer announced.
"Metagross! Use Flash Cannon!" Brendan ordered. Metagross fires Flash Cannon right at the owl-like Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Decidueye flies and manages to avoid Flash Cannon, but Metagross redirects it and struck him on the spot.
"Metagross lands a successful Flash Cannon on Decidueye! Talking about accurate aim!" The announcer announced.
"Not bad, Brendan! Here's an old trick up nmy sleeve! Decidueye! Razor Leaf and Omnious Wind right at the same time!" Sora ordered. Decidueye fires both Omnious Wind and Razor Leaf, creating a huge tornado.
"Now, here is something we haven't seen in a while, ladies and gentlemen! Decidueye is using both Razor Leaf and Omnious Wind right at the exact time and it's heading right towards Metagross!" The announcer announced. Metagross gets sucked up in the tornado and goes flying around and around. Metagross goes crashing down on the battlefield and resuolts in a knockout. The referee rasises the green flag.
"Metagross is unable to battle! Decidueye wins!" The referee announced.
Back in Alola, eight of the Alolan nine were cheering as they saw one of Sora's old moves again.
"Yes! A good combo of Razor Leaf and Omnious Wind! I love that combo!" Sophocles cheered.
"Me too! That was awesome!" Rainbow Dash added.
"Wow, he's gone and used it, like you said he was. And he's even better than Princess Twilight said he was," Sunset Shimmer said.
"Yes, but he's gotten much stronger since that battle in Earthland," Kiawe said.
"Yeah, that Bart was tough, being a trainer from a different universe," Mallow said.
"Does he have any more fun tricks up his sleeve?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"We should wait and see, Pinkie," Sgt. Byrd said.
"Which Pokémon will Brendan send out next?" The announcer asked.
"Your turn now, Salamence!" Brendan called out as his Salamence came flying out and lands on the ground.
"Pokémon number three is Salamence!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Decidueye and take out his next Pokéball.
"Go! Absol!" Sora called out as he threw his Pokéball and his Absol makes his entry.
"And Sora sends out Absol as Sora's fourth Pokémon! Wonder if it'll be disastrous for either Salamence or Absol!" The announcer announced.
"Salamence! Use Dragon Rush!" Brendan ordered. Salamence comes at the disaster Pokémon right Dragon Rush.
"Dodge it, Absol!" Sora called out. Absol avoids Salamence's attack. "Now use Air Slash!" Absol swings the blade on his head and sends out Air Slash.
"Dodge it! Quick!" Brendan called out. Salamence tries to avoid it, but got struck hard.
"Absol is making good use of its Air Slash attack!" The announcer announced.
"Salamence! Use Dragon Pulse!" Brendan ordered.
"Absol! Block with Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Both Pokémon fired their attacks at each other and they both held on. Neither one of them was going to call it quits. An explosion occurs between the both of them.
"What a force of Dragon Pulse and Dark Pulse! Salamence and Absol were locked in their attacks and now, only one of them will be standing or will they both fall?" The announcer asked. The blast had subsided to reveal Absol and Salamence were both taken down. The referee raises both flags.
"Salamence and Absol are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"Sora loses one and Brendan loses three! There will be a fifteen minute recess just so both trainers can rest and come back out refreshed!" The announcer announced. Gary was watching the battle on TV. Gary is currently in Sandgem Town since he has become Professor Rowan's assistant he has been helping him with his research on Pokémon evolution.
"Sora. You became so much stronger than the time we battled each other during the Johto Pokémon League. It's no surprise to me that you made it so far. I wanna see how much further you're going to go, Sora," Gary said.
Watching TV in Twinleaf Town, two boys were the battle on TV as they ate some popcorn, chips, pizza and drank some sodas. One boy has slate gray hair and eyes. He is wearing a white undershirt with a black vest over it, a red scarf, baggy jeans, with red and grey shoes. The other boy has yellow hair and orange eyes. He is wearing a short sleeve cardigan with orange and white stripes. He has on gray pants, brown boots and wears a brown shoulder bag.
"Wow! Did you see that, Lucas? That was so awesome!" The blonde boy exclaimed.
"What did I tell you, Barry?! Sora Ketchum is no slouch when it comes to Pokémon battles!" Lucas said.
"You think he's gonna win it, just like the last time?!" Barry asked.
"How could he not? He already got two under his belt, so he should go for thirds," Lucas said.
"I can't wait to become a Pokémon trainer! I wanna challenge him into a battle and win it!" Barry said, getting all worked up.
"Not if I beat him first!" Lucas said.
"You don't think I'm gonna do it, don't ya?" Barry asked.
"You'll probably get so excited you'll wet your pants just like when you played Comet in that Christmas play back in kindergarten!" Lucas teased.
"That was only because I had too much Moomoo Milk when that happened!" Barry argued.
"Yeah, sure you did," Lucas said, rolling his eyes.
Over to another house, a girl with navy blue hair, fair skin and dark blue eyes was in her room, she wore a mini dress consisting of a black V-neck tank top with a white shirt under it, a very short pink mini skirt, and a red scarf. On her head, she wore a white beanie with a pink Pokéball print on it. She also wore gold hair clips that hold up her hair in front. She black mid-knee socks under pink slippers. She was replaying the Hoenn Grand Festival's closing ceremonies as she watches Kairi holding the Ribbon Cup.
"Oh, Kairi, you are so lucky to win the Grand Festival. Also, you're so beautiful too," the girl said. "I wish I could be a Top Pokémon Coordinator as you someday, Kairi. Someday." She idolized Kairi ever since she first saw Kairi on TV during the Slateport City Pokémon Contest and she was so very inspired. Down stairs, her mother being a woman with the same skin complexion and color of hair and eyes, but she has her hair styled in a bob and has a red hairclip. She wore a white, long-sleeved shirt, a peach and red apron with pockets and blue capris. She wore a pair of slippers. Sleeping on the couch is a gray cat Pokémon with pink eyelids. It opened its eyes to reveal that they are yellow and blue. Its ears give the head an almost crescent moon shaped effect that has been flipped horizontally, and are tipped with white on the also has a tail in a coil which has a fluffy tip. This Pokémon also has its ruffles of fur around its neck and legs, as well as the paws colored pure white. She looked up stairs and she laughs a bit.
"Dawn is probably watching that same video again. Honestly, isn't she already starting to get sick of watching it by now?" The woman asked. The cat Pokémon just purs in response. She giggled. "You're right, Glameow. She just wants to be a great Top Coordinator just like I was." She looked at the photos in her younger days and she wore different dresses. Sitting among the photos is her own Ribbon Cup.
Back to the final battle, Sora and Brendan comes back out as they get ready to battle it all out in the second half of the final battle.
"And welcome back to the second half of this exciting battle! To those who are just joining us on TV, Sora Ketchum is leading with five Pokémon remaining as Brendan is now down to three! Will Brendan make a comeback or will Sora make quick work of his opponent and go home with the winner's trophy? Both trainers will have to draw out their Pokémon for us to find out!" The announcer announced. Brendan took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Feraligatr!" Brendan called out. His Feraligatr comes out as it let's out a loud roar upon entry.
"And his Pokémon is Feraligatr! Will Sora send out Tropius, Decidueye, or Pikachu? Or does he have a Pokémon that can do away with Feraligatr?" The announcer asked. Sora thought of going with Pikachu, but then again there was Decidueye and Tropius. He thought for a moment and decided to go with Tropius.
"Tropius! Back to action!" Sora called out as Tropius made his appearence in battle again.
"And it's Tropius that's back to battle against Feraligatr!" The announcer announced.
"Tropius! Start things up with Leaf Tornado!" Sora ordered. Tropius flapped his large leafy wings and sends out a large dark green tornado and glowing light green leaves heads right for Feraligatr.
"Tropius comes back out and sends out a Leaf Tornado! And it's a real doozy just by the looks of it!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge it, Feraligatr!" Brendan ordered. Feraligatr ran as fast as its feet could carry it. Feraligatr then jumps to the side just before the leaves has decimated.
"It looks like Feraligatr's speed has saved it from that devastating Leaf Tornado! What a lucky break!" The announcer announced.
"Now use Ice Punch!" Brendan ordered. Feraligatr jumps and lands an Ice Punch on the fruit Pokémon before Tropius could dodge. "Now, use Slash!" Feraligatr lands a Slash onto the fruit Pokémon and falls to the ground, beaten. The referee raises the red flag.
"Tropius is unable to battle! Feraligatr wins!" The referee announced.
"Brendan takes control of this battle with Ice Punch and Slash! Let's see what Sora has up his sleeve next!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Tropius and takes out Decidueye's Pokéball and threw it.
"Decidueye! Back to action!" Sora called out as Decidueye makes his re-entry. "Use Spirit Shackle!" Decidueye fires another arrow and it struck the ground, keeping Feraligatr from being called back.
"Feraligatr! Slash!" Brendan ordered. Feraligatr ran to deliever Slash onto Sora's Decidueye.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Decidueye dodges Feraligatr's Slash and then fires Razor Leaf right at the crocodilian Pokémon.
"Dodge!" Brendan called out. Feraligatr avoids Razor Leaf by running.
"Does two are going tooth to claw in this feirsome battle! Attack then dodge! I am having a hard time getting my eyes off this!" The announcer announced.
"Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Decidueye comes flying with his wings out and glowing green. He darts right at Feraligatr.
"Feraligatr! Ice Punch! Let's go!" Brendan ordered. Feraligatr ran right at the owl-like Pokémon with its fist emitting ice and lands a hit onto one another. Decidueye goes down for the count as Feraligatr is still standing. The referee raises the red flag.
"Decidueye is unable to battle! Feraligatr wins!" The announcer announced.
"And now, Sora is down to three Pokémon! Brendan is making an epic comeback into Sora!" The announcer announced. Sora looked over to his partner.
"You're up, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu comes back out to battle.
"And it's Pikachu once again!" The announcer announced.
"Feraligatr! Ice Punch!" Brendan ordered. Feraligatr comes at the mouse Pokémon with his fist emitting ice.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu avoids Feraligatr's Ice Punch with lightning speed. "Now, use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Feraligatr and it causes heavy damage.
"Feraligatr is taking lots of damage from Thunderbolt! Can Feraligatr be able to keep on going?!" The announcer asked.
"Feraligatr! Use your Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Feraligatr comes at Pikachu with its claws emitting a dragonish aura and heads for the mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Feraligatr kept swiping with Dragon Claw, but Pikachu just kept on dodging and dodging. Pikachu kept it up as Feraligatr was starting to get exhausted from the swiping.
"Pikachu just keeps on dodging that Dragon Claw, but Feraligatr is getting worn out from it!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Pikachu! Use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings his tail at Feraligatr and lands a good clean hit. "Now use Electro Ball!" Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and hurls it right at Feraligatr and it causes heavy damage as Feraligatr has taken all the damage he could take. The referee raises the green flag.
"Feraligatr is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"Now, Brendan has two more Pokémon left in reserves! Which one will save him now?" The announcer asked. Brendan calls back Feraligatr and takes out his next Pokéball.
"Your turn now, Charizard!" Brendan called out as Charizard makes its entry in the battle.
"Brendan's fifth Pokémon is his Charizard! Things will definitely cook up in this battle!" The announcer announced.
"That's enough for right now, Pikachu! Come back!" Sora called out. Pikachu returns to his partner's side. He took out Blastoise's Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Blastoise!" His Pokéball opens and unleashes Blastoise.
"And Sora's fifth Pokémon is his Blastoise! And Sora has gained the advantage in Types once again!" The announcer announced.
"I think I'm seeing déjà vu here," Max said. Everyone all looked at him. Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and Lillie knew what he was talking about.
"You mean Charizard vs Blastoise? I'm seeing it too," Riku said. May and Team Chaotix were confused.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Vector asked.
"Fill us in," Charmy said.
"It was in the Johto Pokémon League. A trainer named Gary used a Blastoise as Sora used his Charizard. Sora's Charizard was at a disadvantage because Charizard is a Fire Type and Blastoise is a Water Type. Gary had the upperhand at first, but his Charizard managed to take down Gary's Blastoise. That was how he was able to move on," Kairi said.
"I thought his Charizard was going to get eliminated, but it was the other way around for Gary," Max said.
"You think history is going to repeat itself?" Espio asked.
"I think it might since Charizard knows Thunder Punch. I just hope Blastoise can last out there," Kairi said.
"Oh boy," Meowth said.
"Charizard! Thunder Punch!" Brendan ordered. Charizard comes at Blastoise with an electrifying punch to deliever.
"Blastoise! Dodge by using Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Blastoise darts to Charizard with Aqua Jet.
"Blastoise comes at Charizard with Aqua Jet!" The announcer announced.
"Charizard! Try Thunder Punch again!" Brendan ordered. Charizard attempts to land a Thunder Punch onto the shellfish Pokémon.
"Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fires Flash Cannon and lands hit onto Charizard.
"Blastoise is delivering some hits on Charizard! Brendan will have to come with a trick fast!" The announcer announced. Brendan had an idea up his sleeve, so he thought of something he's never tried before. He hoped it'll work.
"Charizard! Dig! Now!" Brendan ordered. Charizard burrows down to the ground. Sora figured he was trying a sneak attack and he could not wait to see.
"Blastoise! Hydro Pump right at the hole!" Sora ordered. Blastoise headed for the hole to fire Hydro Pump. Blastoise was close enough to flush Charizard out. Brendan grinned, knowing Sora has taken the bait.
"Gotcha, Sora. Charizard! Thunder Punch now!" Brendan ordered. Charizard popped out like a Jack-in-the-box and lands Thunder Punch on Blastoise's face.
"Look at that! Charizard tricks Blastoise with Dig and lands a Thunder Punch in the face!" The announcer announced.
"So, Dig was a trick. Nice one," Sora said.
"Use Thunder Punch again, Charizard!" Brendan ordered. Charizard lands another Thunder Punch onto Blastoise again and again.
"Blastoise! Hydro Pump! Full power!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fires Hydro Pump right into Charizard's face. "Now, finish it with Dragon Pulse!" Blastoise sends out Dragon Pulse and it struck Charizard onto the ground. Charizard had been taken down for the count. The referee raises the green flag.
"Charizard is unable to battle! Blastoise wins!" The referee announced.
"Just when Charizard when it had Blastoise where it wanted it, Blastoise finishes Charizard off with a Dragon Pulse!" The announcer announced. Brendan calls back Charizard and takes out his final Pokéball.
"It's come down to this. Bottom of the barrel, you're my last hope. So, here goes! Go! Sceptile!" Brendan called out as his Sceptile came out to battle.
"And Brendan's final Pokémon is Sceptile! Will Sora switch his Pokémon or will he be sticking with Blastoise?" The announcer asked. Sora calls back Blastoise and takes out his next Pokéball.
"Go! Blaziken!" Sora called out. Blaziken comes on out to battle Sceptile.
"And Pokémon number six is Blaziken! Brendan has an act of sending out Pokémon that has an edge against him! This should be fun to watch!" The announcer announced.
"Blaziken! Come at Sceptile with Blaze Kick!" Sora ordered. Blaziken comes at Sceptile to land a kick, but Brendan wasn't going to have it.
"Sceptile! Dodge and use Leaf Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile dodges Blaziken's Leaf Blade and lands a Leaf Blade onto Blaziken. "Now, use Dragon Claw!" Sceptile swipes at Blaziken with Dragon Claw.
"Blaziken! Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Blaziken comes at Sceptile to land a Fire Punch onto Sceptile.
"Blaziken comes at Sceptile with a red-hot Fire Punch! Will it land?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Sceptile! Duck and grab Blaziken and give it a throw!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile grabs Blaziken and gives Sceptile a hurl to the back behind him. "Now use your strongest Leaf Storm!" Sceptile creates a powerful Leaf Storm and hurls it right at Blaziken.
"Dodge it, Blaziken! Hurry!" Sora ordered. Blaziken tried to dodge it, but he got pelted by Leaf Storm.
"Blaziken takes a heavy Leaf Storm and doesn't seem to have a prayer to escape!" The announcer announced. Blaziken was greatly injured from Sceptile's Leaf Storm and didn't have enough stamina for Flame Charge since Blaziken has taken so much damage from Leaf Storm.
"Now finish it with Leaf Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile swipes Leaf Blade at Blaziken. The blaze Pokémon fell on his back, knocked out. The referee raises the red flag.
"Blaziken is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora now has two more Pokémon left! Which ones will he use?" The announcer asked. Sora takes out his Pokéball and threw it.
"Blastoise! Go!" Sora called out. Blastoise comes back out and is a little tender from the battle against Charizard.
"Blastoise is sent back out!" The announcer announced.
"Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fires Flash Cannon right at Sceptile.
"Dodge and use Leaf Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile avoids Blastoise's Flash Cannon and lands a Leaf Blade on the shellfish Pokémon. Blastoise had fallen to the ground, beaten. The referee raises the red flag.
"Blastoise is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Now that both trainers has one left to use, this is the last chance for any one of them to earn that winner's trophy and go home a champion!" The announcer announced. Sora looked over to Pikachu.
"You're up, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. He entered the battlefield and ready to face Sceptile.
"Now, it's Sceptile vs Pikachu! Pikachu's Electric Type attacks won't even phase Sceptile, but you can bet your boots, ladies and gentlemen, that miracles has happened before and Sceptile's triumph over Blaziken was no exception! Now, let's get this final match, get underway!" The announcer announced.
"Sceptile! Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile came at Pikachu, ready to swipe at Pikachu.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges Sceptile's attack with his speed attack. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumps and lands an Iron Tail on the chest. "Now, use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu gives Sceptile a shock of Thunderbolt. It wasn't very effective, but it still hurts.
"End it with Leaf Storm!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile fires Leaf Storm right at Pikachu.
"Brendan really wants to end this battle badly! He's having his Sceptile let a Leaf Storm rage on!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Dodge it with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu runs to dodge Sceptile's attack. Pikachu manages to barley dodge the leaves. Pikachu had gotten scrapped by some of them, but managed to get through just fine.
"Sceptile! Leaf Blade! Finish Pikachu off!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile comes at Pikachu with Leaf Blade ready to give the final blow to the mouse Pokémon.
"Pikachu! One more Quick Attack! Make it count!" Sora called out. Pikachu dashed into the forest Pokémon and lands a hit into his chest. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu gave Sceptile an Iron Tail onto Sceptile's chest. Sceptile was at last, taken down. The referee raises the green flag.
"Sceptile is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! The winner of the battle is Sora!" The referee announced. The crowd cheers as Sora had won not only the battle, but also the entire tournament. Delia, Professor Oak, Lea, Isa, Yuta, Mirei, Kairi's grandmother, Danny, Cattleya, Mimey, and Comfey were proud of Sora for winning the tournament. Delia knew that meant Sora will be bringing home another trophy. Eight of the Alolan nine, the Mane Seven, Spike, the Kongs, Dingodile, Time Man, Oil Man, Hunter, Bianca, Shiela, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley, and Agent 9 were all cheering as Sora had won the battle.
"Whoop-whoop! This calls for a party!" Pinkie Pie shouted. Sgt. Byrd flew straight up into the sky and fired his rockets into the sky and sets off an explosion.
"WWHHOOOOOO-HHHHHAAAAAHHHH!" Agent 9 shouted. "Way to kick all that butt, Sora!" The space monkey just laughed like a mad man.
"Yes, way to go, Sora," Illima agreed with Agent 9.
Drew smiled as he silently congratulated Sora in his thoughts. Lucas and Barry were screaming at the top of their lungs as Sora had won it. Gary wasn't surprised to see his old rival had climbed to the top once again.
"I knew you were going to do it, Sora," Gary said, turning off the TV.
Back in the stadium, Kairi and Ventus were celebrating as Sora has won. The same for Angel and the Pichu. Riku, Naminé, Terra, Aqua, and Lillie were so happy for Sora's third League tournament win. Elio and Selene hugged as they won, not caring who could see them. Team Chaotix were awestruck to witness Sora's win. And at the same time, they were proud. Meowth was awestruck as Eevee was smiling. Morrison was giving off tears as he watched his friend and rival win it.
"I expect no less from my rival, Sora! He's living the dream!" Morrison cried. Professor Birch was watching the battle from start to finish and he was smiling. He was truly proud of his son. Lisia was happy to see one of her friends win the tournament. May was quiet as she watched her boyfriend lose the final battle, but it didn't matter because he gave it everything he had. Max and Wally looked at her.
"May, is something wro-" Wally placed his hand on his shoulder and shook his head.
"You did your best, Brendan. That's all I can ask of you," May said.
The closing ceremonies had begun as Sora had accepted the winner's trophy. Haruhi, Seji, Renton, Scheris, and Momoko were among the many trainers who didn't make it to the finals.
After the tournament had ended, Sora and Kairi had said their goodbyes to Morrison and Lisia as they headed back home. Everyone made their way back to Slateport City to part ways.
"So, now what do you have planned?" Brendan asked.
"Well, Kairi and I have already met our goals, so the only thing to do is to head on home," Sora said.
"Our families are probably waiting for us to come back," Kairi said.
"Also, we gotta help these three get back somehow," Sora said, remembering the promise he made.
"We might not have been here for a long time, but we would like to see where you guys live," Vector said.
"And see if this Professor Oak will do what he can to help us," Espio said.
"But, was loads of fun meeting you, Sora, Kairi," Max said. He even turned to Ventus. "And I had a good time with you, Ven." Ventus smiled.
"You too, Max. And maybe when you and I become trainers, we can have a battle against each other," Ventus said.
"And I'll hold you to that, Ven!" Max said as they locked hands. Terra and Aqua smiled as they knew Ventus had found himself a future rival.
"Don't you think we can come for a visit sometime?" May asked.
"Sure. Just come on down to Pallet Town if you wanna visit," Sora said.
"Also, Porta Vista is always a welcoming place," Lillie said.
"You taking a boat home?" May asked.
"No, Elio, Selene and I will be going home by plane," Lillie said.
"It's much faster that way," Selene said.
"Also, Professor Redwood wants us to come back as soon as they were over," Elio said.
"When you get back to Alola, tell Illima and the others that we said hi," Sora said.
"I will," Lillie said.
"I guess that'll be my flight home too," Riku said. Everyone all looked at him. "My mom's been nagging me on coming home sometimes, so I thought I go back home to make her happy. Also, I want my Incineroar and my other Pokémon to meet the ones I caught here."
"That makes sense," Sora said.
"Also, I'm going with Riku. I always wanted to see the region Riku has grew up. And see Illima and the others again," Naminé said.
With that said, everyone said their goodbyes as Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Lillie, Elio, and Elio left for the airport. Brendan, May, Wally, and Max went off for their homes as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, the Pichu, Meowth, Ventus Terra, and Aqua, and Team Chaotix boarded the ship bound for Vermillion City. After they arrived back to their home region, it felt like years that they had been back and begin to make their journey back home. Ventus, Terra, and Aqua all headed back to Porta Vista where Ventus's parents awaits them.
The journey back home meant going through Viridian City. As they walked down the streets, Sora, Kairi, the Pokémon, and the disguised Mobians walked down Kairi's old neighborhood.
"You grew up here, Kairi?" Charmy asked.
"Yes. It was me and my grandma at first. That was until we moved to Pallet Town," Kairi said.
"I'm sure that means you get to see each other whenever you want, huh?" Vector asked.
"It sure did," Sora said, holding Kairi's hand.
"Lucky," Vector said.
"I'm sure it brings back loads of memories, doesn't it?" Vector asked.
"Well, not all of it is plesant for all of us," Meowth said.
"Hey! Sora! Kairi!" A familair voice called out. They all turned to see Hayner, Pence, and Olette.
"Hayner! Pence! Olette!" Kairi happily said.
"Hey, you guys!" Sora greeted. The three kids ran up to the couple, the Pokémon,and the Mobians.
"We heard about the Hoenn Pokémon League and Grand Festival. Congratulations!" Olette said. Meowth looked at the three kids.
"I have a feeling they told the some things about me," Meowth said in his thoughts.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
"So, what are you up to now?" Pence asked.
"Just on our way home," Sora said. Olette looked at Angel and she gushed at the sight of the little Eevee.
"Oh, this must be Angel. She's so cute," Olette cooed.
"Thanks. That's what I thought at first," Kairi said. Hayner looked at Meowth and the other three.
"So, what's with the Meowth and who are those three?" Hayner asked. Sora chuckled nervously.
"About that," Sora said. They all went to the Viridian City Gym as Team Choatix had revealed themselves to the trio. They freaked out at first, but they explained that they're nice and that they're lost visitors from a completely different world. Hayner, Pence, and Olette did trust them since they were with Sora and Kairi. They also told them that they made a promise to help them get home. They also explained taht Meowth used to be with Team Rocket until they decided to turn against them. They told them about the demise of Jessie and James, but they didn't know about Genghis and Kahnnie. "And that's about it."
"Man, that is quite a story," Hayner said.
"So, we're going with them to see if they can help us out," Charmy said.
"If a talking Meowth was just one thing, but three talking animals from another world. And I thought the thing with Regirock was something," Hayner said.
"I sure hope you three get back home," Pence said.
"Me too. I'm missing Saffron more than ever," Charmy said.
"Anyway, speaking of home, we should be heading there right now," Sora said.
"Right," Kairi agreed. "It was nice seeing you again."
"You too," Pence said.
"Say hi to your grandma for us, Kairi," Olette said.
"I will," Kairi said.
"And it was cool meeting you, Vector, Espio, and Charmy," Hayner said.
"Right back at you," Charmy said. Team Choatix placed their disguises back on and they headed back to Pallet Town. They made a stop somewhere for a quick lunch as a Poliwag had popped out of the water. "Hey, look at that!"
"A Poliwag!" Sora said.
"I think he has come to greet us," Kairi said. Poliwag jumped out of the water and went up to Kairi with great interest. "Hello, I think you're very cute, Poliwag." The Poliwag beamed at being called cute. Everyone all stood up as they got ready to head off home. "Well, we should be going."
"Yeah. And if I know my mom, she'll be preparing a special meal for us," Sora said.
"And my mom and grandma would probably do the same thing," Kairi said. The group headed out of the forest, but the wild Poliwag follows them home. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Pichu, and Team Choaitx had finally arrived in Pallet Town.
"And there it is," Sora said.
"So, that's Pallet Town," Espio said.
"It reminds me of Knothole and Station Square," Charmy said.
"Same for me," Vector said.
They all headed down for down the hill, unaare of the same Poliwag following them. Poliwag runs down the hill after them. They eventually reached their neighborhood as Sora and Kairi had reached their houses. Their families had stepped out to greet the happy couple home.
"Welcome home," Delia greeted.
"Hi mom," Sora greeted as he hugged his mother.
"I missed you, sweetheart," Delia said.
"I missed you too, mom," Sora said. Delia parted as she saw Team Choatix.
"So, aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?" Delia asked. Sora figured Kairi's familay told her about them, so it was okay.
"Mom, meet our new friends; Vector, Espio, and Charmy," Sora introduced as they took off their hats to show their faces. "Vector, Espio, Charmy, this is my mom."
"Nice to meet you, Sora's mom," Charmy said. Delia laughed.
"I can see why they call you Charmy," Delia joked. "Now, come inside. Make yourselves comfortable."
Everyone all entered in the house. Meowth even felt welcomed, cosidering the past he has, but Delia assured Meowth that she won't judge him and that made him feel better. During the dinner, Sora and Kairi had shared all the stories he and Kairi had shared during their journey in Hoenn. About the people they met and the Pokémon they came across.
In Viridian City, Jessie and James secretly met up with Genghis and Kahnnie.
"Any news from the inside?" Jessie asked.
"Team Rocket's project is getting closer to completion within a month," Genghis said.
"We're running out of time," Kahnnie said.
"That can't be good. Do you at least have a clue about what they're planning?" James asked.
"We heard some rumors that there some Pokémon getting extremely hostile towards humans for no apparent reason. But then, they drop the aggression," Kahnnie said.
"Are they trying to make Pokémon angry or something?" Jessie asked.
"So far, that's one of the clues we got," Kahnnie said.
"And more. There's whispers going around that Giovanni's mystery partners are going to make an appearence as soon as the project is good and ready," Genghis said. "And that's all we got so far."
Jessie sighs, "That's good as any."
"Keep us informed," James said.
With that said, the members of Anti-Team Rocket depart and set off to their objectives. Unknown to them, a boy in a black hood is listening to their conversation. The hooded figure turns out to be Red as he removes his hood.
"The Team Rocket in my world never had any partners. What could this world's Team Rocket be cooking up?" Red asked. He places his hood back.
Now that the journey in the Hoenn region is behind our heroes, how much time do they have before Giovanni can carry out his master plan, and can Sora and Kairi hope to stop it before it's too late? Answers will come along soon enough as our story continues.
And there you have it. We'll end it right here for now. Sora and Kairi will be vacationing in the Galar region in the next chapter and then, into the Alola region as a surprise visit, but with some interesting meetings going around. Until then, stay tuned, read, favorite, follow, and review.
