Episode 285: A Gander in Galar
Several days had passed since returning from the Hoenn region. Shortly after returning home, things kinda went back to normal. Sora and Kairi went out on their dates on a regular basis as Meowth has taken accustom to living in a house. Meowth had a hard time decided on where to live, but he decided to try both. All of Sora and Kairi's Pokémon were dropped off to Professor Oak's lab, all except for Pikachu and Angel. Speakig of which, Pikachu and Angel went out on dates of their own. They made their way to Professor Oak's ranch as he and Angel both shared an apple. They ate the same apple slice, resulting in a kiss.
Pikachu and Angel even danced at night as Primarina did some singing as Raichu, Abra, Zangoose, Seviper, and Golduck played some music. The two Butterfree, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Gallade, Gardevoir, Volbeat, and Illumise joined in on the dance party between Pokémon couples. Ludicolo made things pretty lively as many of the Pokémon living there has taken a shine to him and his antics. Jigglyuff attempts to join Primarina in the song, but is quickly stopped by Noctowl. The Hoenn born Pokémon were told by the others about how Jigglypuff used to doodle on everyone's faces if everyone fell alseep. Froslass had formed a fast friendship with Gengar and they play some pranks on Professor Oak and on Glalie. AS for Team Choatix, Professor Oak tried to figure out what to do with the oterhwordly vistors, but he promised to help them out anyway he can.
A couple of days later, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were out on a stroll in the forest not too far from Pallet Town.
"Gotta hand it to you, Kairi. Coming out here was a great idea," Sora said.
"Thank you. It's just nice to be able to spend some time together, even though we're mostly out traveling," Kairi said.
"Yeah. Come to think of it, I kinda thought maybe, after our first journey ended, you would have ended up going back home in Viridian City and that we would just be apart for a while," Sora said.
"I kinda had the same worries, Sora. To tell the truth, I was sad about going home, because I thought my grandma was going to have me stay home, but when she moved us down here, I was so happy, because it meant we got to see each other whenever we want," Kairi said. That made Sora smile as he remembered it.
"Yeah. And I'm glad that you did move down here, Kairi. And I'm glad you came with me in Johto and Hoenn," Sora said.
"Me too," Kairi said. The couple moved their faces closer for a kiss as something has interruppted their romantic moment. An Ekans and Korrfing both came rushing right towards them.
"An Ekans and a Koffing?!" Sora exclaimed.
"They sure do look like they're in a rush," Kairi said. The Ekans and Koffing tackles into Sora.
"Hey, what's the rush?!" Sora exclaimed. Before he could scold them, they heard the sound of tires screeching. "I can see. Hide! The both of you! And don't you come out until it's safe!" Ekan and Koffing hid in the nearby bushes as a man, wearing a red jacket and gray pants came driving in a jeep. He has green hair. He stepped out of his jeep and approached the couple.
"Hey, you kids! Have you seen an Ekans and a Koffing go by here?" The man asked.
"Ekans? Koffing?" Sora asked, pretending that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
"You know! Ekans as in the Snake Pokémon. And Koffing as in the Poison Gas Pokémon! Those! They're both Poison Type Pokémon!" The man demanded. Sora snapped his fingers.
"Oh, that Ekans and Koffing! How could I have forgotten that?" Sora asked, feigning ignorance.
"Look here, kid! I'm not in the mood for games! Have you seen any or not?!" The man demanded.
"Nope, I haven't seen any. What about you, Kairi? You seen any Ekans or Koffing?" Sora asked his girlfriend. Kairi shurugged her shoulders.
"I haven't seen any lately," Kairi said.
"Dammit! I thought for sure they came this way! I'm going to find them both!" The man got back in his jeep and drove off. The couple waited to make sure he was really gone. Once they did. Sora gestured to them.
"He's gone. You can come out now," Sora said. The Ekans and Koffing were scared and they were grateful to Sora for helping them. "You guys don't need to be scared. I'll keep you safe. I promise that to you." Ekans and Koffing looked at him and saw a kind smiling face at them. They felt safe around him. "Now come on. Let's go to Professor Oak's lab. I'm sure we can help out."
Upon arriving in Professor Oak's lab, Sora and Kairi informed the Pokémon professor about the man they bumped into when they encountered Ekans and Koffing.
"I see. You suspect that he is a Pokémon hunter?" Professor Oak asked.
"Trust me, that guy had hunter written on his face," Sora said.
"So, we thought of coming to you," Kairi said.
"You both did the right thing by telling me. I'll make contact with Officer Jenny and hear what she has to say," Professor Oak said. Professor Oak made contact with Officer Jenny. She arrived as soon as she heard about the Pokémon hunter. When she arrived, Sora and Kairi gave the description of the poacher.
"So, it's Rico, up to his old tricks, I see," Officer Jenny said.
"Rico?" Sora asked.
"He's a Pokémon hunter. I've been on his trail for the last few weeks. He is known to injure Pokémon before he captures them," Officer Jenny said, holding up a wanted poster, baring his face. She turned to the couple. "Can you show me where you have seen him?"
"Gladly," Sora said. The Ekans and Koffing shivered and Sora patted them. "You should be safe here. The only way this Rico guy is going to get in here is through all the Pokémon we got here. Trust me." The Ekans and Koffing were still scared, but they trusted them. Sora and Kairi showed the policewoman exactly where he showed up. "Amd this is the spot we saw him."
"And you told him that you hadn't seen any Ekans and Koffing in the area?" Officer Jenny asked.
"That's right," Sora said.
"We did to help them," Kairi said.
"You both did the right thing to help them out. Keep your eyes open for them," Officer Jenny said.
"Can do," Sora said. She takes off to find him. Just when they were heading back home, they spot Rico and he had a haul of Ekans and Koffing. The wild Pokémon were greatly injured. "Ekans and Koffing. And they're beaten bad."
"How could he do this?" Kairi asked.
"He's just plain irredeemable," Sora said.
"I agree," Espio said, dropping his camouflage.
"Espio? How long were you following us?" Sor asked.
"When you left to show the policewoman the poacher's sighting. And I intend to help those innocent creatures," Espio said.
"Can you do that?" Sora asked.
"Yes. I may be a chameleon, but I'm also a ninja. I'll keep him entertained while you go find Officer Jenny," Espio said. Sora and Kairi knew what he was capable of and decided to let him go through it.
"Okay," Kairi said.
"Good luck," Sora said. He, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel left to find the poliewoman as Espio turned invisible again. Espio made no sound as he snuck on the Pokémon hunter with ease. He took out a kunai and undid the lock, letting out the Pokémon he captured.
"What the hell?! My catch is getting away?!" Rico exclaimed. He turned to his Fearow. "Go after them, Fearow!" His Fearow was about to go after them when Fearow felt a kick in the gut. Fearow fell to the ground.
"Can you fight what you cannot see?" Espio taunted. Rico could hear the ninja chameleon, but could see him.
"Who's there?! Show yourself!" Rico demanded. He took out his riffle, but Espio threw a kunai at his weapon, making him drop it. "Who is there?!"
"I repeat my question: can you fight what you cannot see?" Espio asked.
"I don't have time for this kind of game! Get out here and face me!" Rico yelled. He took out a cattle prod and he swung it around. He felt a punch in the gut and then, he was low kicked. "Whoever you are, you're going to be sorry that you ever messed with me!"
"Your threats mean nothing to me," Espio said. Rico got up, unaware of Epsio, grabbing some rope. He quickly wrapped it around him.
"What the hell?! Since when does rope have a mind of their own?!" Rico exclaimed. Espio lands a kick on him and he goes into the cage, where he had his catch. He locks it. "What's going on here?!"
"A shadow leaves no evidence of its presence," Espio said, heading for the shrubs while invisible. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel came back with Officer Jenny and saw him in the cage and tied up. Sora and Kairi knew Epsio did a great job.
"So, you're Rico the Pokémon hunter. You are under arrest for Pokémon poaching," Officer Jenny said. Officer Jenny didn't know how Rico ended up in his own trap, but she didn't question the good fortune and brought him into custoday.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel all returned to the lab to tell the two Poison Types that it's safe.
"Good news, guys. That poacher's gone. You can now go back home," Sora said. Ekans and Koffing looked at each other and they went up to Sora. They both nuzzled him. "Wait a minute. You wanna be with me?" Ekans and Koffing nodded. Sora smiled as he took out two Pokéballs and got them ready for them. "Then, welcome aboard!" Sora said, throwing them. The Pokéballs struck them both and they flow inside. Stars swirls around them, confirming the catch. Sora lets his new Ekans and Koffing out to join up with the other Pokémon. Welcome to the family! And guys, treat the newbies nice, okay?" Ekans and Koffing were greeted by Sora's other Pokémon. Feeling accepted, Ekans and Koffing were truly happy.
After a few more days, Sora thought of a great idea. He thought of having another vacation, but this time, up the Galar region. He knew it'll a good place to visit and it has some Pokémon like Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, also has Galarian Form Ponyta, Rapidash, Weezing, and Farfetch'd. Also, they could visit the Alola region to surprise their former travel companions.
"Vacation in the Galar region?" Kairi asked, surprised.
"Yeah. Think about it. We can see loads of sights and see and catch some Pokémon living there. And after we've seen what Galar has to offer us, we can go down to Alola and pay Lillie and the others a visit," Sora said. Kairi did like the idea of a vacation with Sora and seeing everyone again after so long.
"You think we can catch some Pokémon while we're in Alola too?" Kairi asked, making Sora laugh.
"Sure," Sora said.
"Also, I can introduce everyone to Angel. She can make even more friends," Kairi said. Sora's plan to convince Kairi worked like a charm. Their families thought that they deserved a vacation and saw them off to the airport. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel enjoyed the flight as they watched a romantic movie on flight and held hands the whole time, except when it was time to eat.
"Attention, passengers. We have just entered Galarian skies," a flight stewardess announced.
"We made it," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"It won't be long now," Sora said. Just then, the lights went started to go off. "What just happened to the lights?" Sora asked. Everyone started to panic. In the cockpit, the pilots were trying to figure it out.
"Check the electrical system," the first pilot said.
"Yes sir," the second pilot said.
A stewardess came down the aisle as everyone was muttering among themselves.
"Everyone remain calm and remain seated with your seat belts fastened," the stewardess said.
"What is going on?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel said in a worry.
"Probably a glitch," Sora said. Pikachu's ears perked up when he felt something off. He turned to the window.
"Pika," Pikachu said, catching Sora's attention.
"Pikachu? What's up?" Sora asked. He looked out the window too. He then saw something move. "What is that?" This gets Kairi's attention.
"Sora?" Kairi asked.
"There's something there," Sora said. Kairi looked out the window as well, but sees nothing.
"I don't see anything," Kairi said.
"Look closely. And maybe, you'll see it," Sora said. Kairi wasn't sure what they were looking for exactly, but she had to pay attention to see it. She then saw it. It was a large purple and red creature. It was giving off red electricity. Kairi gasped when she saw it. "I see it now!"
"I told you," Sora said.
'Do you think it was a Pokémon?" Kairi asked.
"It's gotta be. And whatever it was, I have a feeling we're going to see it again," Sora said. Suddenly, the plane goes back to normal, much to everyone's relief.
"That's a reflief," the stewardess said. The plane prepares to land as Sora and Kairi were still thinking of the Pokémon they saw before. "Ladies and gentlemen, we will be landing in the Poswick airport shortly. Please remain seated until the plane makes a complete stop. Thank you." Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel looked out the window and saw that they were getting closer to landing. They saw some fields, swarming with Wooloo and Dubwool. Yamper and Boltund were making sure they all stayed in place. The plane makes its landing as they departed form the plane as they made their first offcial step into the Galar region.
"This is it. The Galar region," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"It's even nicer here than I thought," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"So, what do you wanna do first, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"I was thinking we check out the town before we start catching some wild Pokémon around here," Kairi suggested.
"Good idea. Let's do that," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu seconded that notion.
"Eevee!" Angel added.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel took a strool down the streets of Postwick. As they passes a firebreathing show, his Charmander wows the crowd in the same manner. They took a look around to the avrious shops as Kairi helped herself to the various jewelry and accessories. They took their leave of Postwick as they left to find some local Pokémon to catch. Unknown to them, a Scorbunny was following them. As the couple headed outside of town, tey passed by a small and a Sobble pokes its head out of the water. It spots the Scorbunny following them. Sobble got out of the pond and followed them as well. A Grookey was up in a tree and bashing a large berry with its stick when it saw the coupe go by. Grookey thought that they looked like fun to play with, so it climbed down the tree and followed them, trailing behind is Scorbunny and Sobble. They explored the grasslands as a Galarian Zigzagoon jumped out and headed for Angel. Pikachu heard the Pokémon attack and sprang into action. He used Iron Tail on the black and white Zigzagoon.
"A Galarian Zigzagoon! Good work, Pikachu!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed right at the tiny racoon Pokémon and lands a hit. The Galarian Zigzagoon came at Pikachu with a Tackle. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu gave the Galarian Zigzagoon a shock and fell to the ground beaten. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Pokéball struck it and flows inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around until stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. "First catch in Galar!"
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu added.
"And a nice one, Sora!" Kairi cherered.
"Eevee!" Angel said and feeling grateful for Pikachu for saving her. She nuzzles him.
"Thanks!" Sora said.
"Now, it's my turn!" Kairi proclaimed. Angel sniffed around and she spotted something. It was a Blipbug. "That one's a Blipbug! She's mine!"
"Go get her, Kairi!" Sora said.
"Angel! Quick Attack!" Angel dashed right at the wild Blipbug. But Blipbug comes back with a vengeance as she unleashes Struggle Bug. "Dodge and use Swift!" Angel dodges and lets out Swift. Swift struck Blipbug and fell to the ground. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. She flows inside and then, stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. She took the Pokéball, containing her newest Pokémon. "I got me a Blipbug!"
"Nice one!" Sora praised. Just then, a Rookidee came flying down. He turned to Pikachu. "Go get it, Pikachu!" Pikachu moves right in to attack. The Rookidee flutters angrily and attacks Pikachu with Peck. "Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Pikachu avoids the tiny bird Pokémon and lands an Iron Tail on it. Rookiedee sends out a black stream of air and struck Pikachu. "Thunderbolt!" Pikachu sneds out Thunderbolt and shocks Rookidee. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Rookidee is struck and flows inside it. The ball wobbles around until stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. "And Rookidee is number two!"
"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Way to, Sora!" Kairi praised her boyfriend.
"An impressive display," an elderly woman's voice spoke. The couple turned to see an old woman watching them closely. She a slender old woman with green eyes and brown hair, she wore a yellow dress with long sleeves under a white lab coat, beige ballet flats a purple necklace and glasses. She also wore a purple headband and carries a cane that is shaped like a Corviknight. "By the way you have battled, I would say that you have raised your Pikachu and Eevee well."
"Thank you, ma'am," Sora said. "We just didn't know we had a small audiecne."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"What brings you here?" Kairi asked.
"I was only heading back to my lab after doing some little research. Wedgehurst isn't too far from here, so I don't suppose you would like some tea?" The old woman offered.
"That'sll be nice. And thank you," Kairi said.
"Yes, thanks," Sora said.
The couple didn't waste any time, taking up the elderly woman's offer. They arrived at the lab to find that it looked more like a library.
"Please come in," the old woman said. "Oh, I'm sorry, I have yet to introduce myself. I am Professor Magnolia. And you would be?"
"My name is Sora," he introduced.
"And I'm Kairi," she introduced.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Oh, so you're Sora. Professor Oak has spoken very highly of you. Also, I knew your father, Sora. He was a good man," Professor Magnolia said. "He has told me that you have accomplished so much as a Pokémon trainer."
"Thank you," Sora said. He was surprised to hear that she knew his dad. Just then, the sound of an opening door is heard.
"Gran, I'm glad you're back, because I have something I want you to see," a young woman said. She is slender young woman with fair skin, ginger hair in a large ponytail, and turquoise eyes. She wore a tan-colored trenchcoat with four buttons, a teal blouse, and light blue skinny jeans. For accessories, she wore a large black bracelet and gadget on her right hand, orange sunglasses, a black purse with a white heart, and four white heart-shaped hair decorations. On her feet, she wore black and turquoise high-heeled boots with white hearts. She also wore turquoise nail polish. "Oh, we got company."
"Sora, Kairi, let me introduce you to Sonia, mt granddaughter and also my assistant," Professor Magnolia introduced. "Snoia, let me introduce you to Sora and Kairi."
"So nice to meet you. Gran's been telling me about you from Professor Oak. When did you get here?" Sonia asked.
"Earlier today. Kairi and I came here for a vacation and to catch some wild Pokémon living here," Sora said.
"So nice," Sonia said. "How about I get somehting whipped up. Be right back." AS soon as Sonia got done with the tea and treats, Sora and Kairi told the professor and her granddaughter about their past adventures in Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions. At the same time, Pikachu, Angel, Zigzagoon, Rookidee, and Blipbug were eating the Pokémon food Sonia had made for them, joined in by Sonia's Yamper and by the Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble to give to beginning trainers. They started with how they met and about the time they met a trainer named Riku and his old classmates from Alola. Sonia was sensing the romance between them. They continued on to their adventures in the Johto region, and then in the Hoenn region after they said their goodbyes to the Alolan nine. Sonia was impressed to hear that Kairi had won the Hoenn Grand Festival as Sora had won three Pokémon League tournaments. "That's quite a tale. And winning three Pokémon Leagues is something hardly any trainer has ever done, but somehow, you pulled it off."
"Well, I did a huge load of training," Sora said. "So, we decided to have a vacation here in the Galar region and catch some Pokémon while we're here and all. Also, head down to Alola for a surprise visit before heading back home."
"A vacation where you can also catch some Pokémon, huh? I never thought of that," Sonia said.
"It's kinda getting some souvenirs and making some friends at the same time," Kairi said.
"We already caught that Zigzagoon, Rookidee, and Blipbug when we met your grandma, Sonia," Sora said. "Also, it's a little bit smaller than the Zigzagoon I caught in Hoenn."
"Well, it is your first trip here in the Galar region, it's natural for you to say that," Sonia said.
"Not appearence. Size. I battled a trainer who had a Galarian Zigzagoon and Linoone, and even an Obstagoon, but the Zigzagoon I had was much bigger than that Zigzaggon abefore he evolved into a Linoone. And I can guess the Linoone I have will be much bigger when this one evolves," Sora said.
"I see. If you're looking for more Pokémon to catch, you should check out the Wild Area," Soia suggested.
"The Wild Area?" Sora asked.
"It's got loads of Pokémon living there. I can give you a map of the area," Sonia said. She took out a map and shows the couple. "The Wild area are made up of these locations on this map. You would be starting from the Meetup Spot departing from the train station. Not only you woud see loads of Pokémon living there, but you would also find some good camping."
"That sounds like fun," Kairi said.
"But before you go there, there's something I would like to give you. I was about to show my Gran when you showed up," Sonia said.
"Yes, I believe you had something you wanted to show me," Professor Magnolia said.
"Good. I have completed this," Sonia said, presenting them a device with a Pokéballs top, but is sky blue. "I present to you the Pokémon Box. With it, trainers can be able to teleport without the use of the Pokédex or by teleporters. I have been working on this project for a whole year and I manged to finally got up and running. And since we have Sora and Kairi here, it's a perfect opportunity to test it out." Sonia looked to Sora. "Say, Sora, would you like to test it?"
"Sure," Sora said. "How do I activate it?" Sora asked.
"Just place your Pokédex right at the center and it will get the data on all of the Pokémon you have in your possesion. It will also display the Pokémon you had prior to evolution," Sonia explained. Sora does exactly that as it begins to collect all of the data. Once that was complete, a screen virtually activates and it displays off the Pokémon he has starting from PIkachu ending with Rookidee. "Now, just press the Pokémon icon on one of the ones you have with you and it'll trade places with the Pokémon you have at home." Sora alls back his new Zigzagoon and presses onto Linoone's icon. Zigzagoon's Pokéball teleports and switches to another taking its place. Sora opens the Pokéball and his Linoone comes out and looks around.
"Wow! It works!" Sora said.
"It was so worth it! It took me a while to get it right and it works even better than I thought it would!" Sonia said.
"You have outdone yourself, my dear," Professor Magnolia said. Sora then thought of something.
"Just how many did you make?" Sora asked.
"So far, I only made two. Why?" Sonia asked.
"Well, I was wondering if Kairi could have one," Sora requested. "I just wanna share that experience with her." Kairi was moved by how considerate Sora was being.
"That's sweet of you, Sora," Kairi said.
"Yes, very sweet," Sonia agreed.
"The reason I asked is, becuase Kairi and I are sharing my Pokédex to exchange Pokémon, and it should have the data on the Pokémon Kairi has, so I thought maybe, if there's a way to transfer that data into another one," Sora said.
"I'm glad, becaue that leads to another test. Now, to transfer Kairi's Pokémon data into the other Pokémon Box, just simply accessed Kairi's icon and it will activate," Sonia instructed as she hands it to Kairi. Sora accessed Kairi's icon. "Press transfer data. It'll ask you if want to do that, so just say yes if you want to do it." Sora presses the transfer data. It asks him if he wants to proceed and Sora presses yes. Kairi's Pokémon data begins to transfer right into the second Pokémon Box. After a couple of minutes, the transfer of data was now complete. Kairi now had access to her own Pokémon. "What do you think?"
"This is great! Thanks a lot!" Kairi said. Sonia smiled.
"Happy to help," Sonia said.
"Then, let's be off," Sora said.
"Yeah!" Kairi agreed.
"Pika!"
"Eevee, vee!" Angel said.
The couple and their Pokémon all went to catch some more Pokémon.
"So full of energy," Professor Magnolia said Aa they went to go to the train station. Upon arrival, they found that the train station wasn't running until the next day. That meant they still had time to spare until dinnertime. Sora and Kairi decided to give their Pokémon Boxes a shot as they went to search for Pokémon individually. Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble all followed Sora from different ways. Kairi searched around and spotted a Wooloo. She figured it was a wild Wooloo since it didn't look like it belonged to a farm somewhere. Kairi turned to Angel.
"Go get her, Angel," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said. Angel stepped in front of Wooloo and she stared back at her. Wooloo ran off with a Tackle.
"Dodge and use Headbutt!" Kairi ordered. Angel avoided the sheep Pokémon's Tackle and she landed a hit onto her. Wooloo wasn't going to call it quits and she came at Angel with another Tackle. Angel jumped to avoid her. "Use Iron Tail!" Eevee jumped and swung her tail on Wooloo. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it at Wooloo. She flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around to confirm the catch. "Now, I have a cute little Wooloo!"
"And it looks like you'll be doing a good job with that one," a new voice spoke. She turned to see a huge, muscular young man. He has peach-colored hair, green eyes, and fair skin with some slight freckles. He wore a beige sun hat with a green brim and a white t-shirt under blue overalls and light brown boots. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you. I was looking for a Wooloo that may have wondered around here, and that one wasn't one of them."
"And how can you tell?" Kairi asked.
"Well, the Wooloo I'm looking for is black. That one has an act of wondering off. So, you haven't seen that one Wooloo, have you?" The man asked.
"No. But I think we can have better luck if we look for the missing Wooloo together," Kairi offered. The man smiled.
"Thank you. You are very kind. My name is Milo by the way," the man introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you, Mlio. I'm Kairi and this Eevee is Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Nice to meet you, Kairi," Milo said.
Over to Sora, he wanted to put his new Pokémon Box to work. He looked around for some Galar Pokémon to catch. His luck got good when he and Pikachu spotted a wild Chewtle.
"Hey, a Chewtle, just like the one Marlon had before evolving. Another Galar Pokémon to add," Sora said. He turned to Pikachu. "Go get it, Pikachu!"
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded. Pikachu got in front of Chewtle and ready to battle it. Chewtle starts by firing Water Gun.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumped and formed a ball of electricity. Pikachu hurls it right at Chewtle and lands a hit. Chewtle was angry and came at Pikachu to land a bite. "Use Quick Attack!" Pikachu dashed right into Chewtle and lands a hit. "Now, use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt and shocks the snapping Pokémon. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Chewtle flows inside and it wobbles around inside. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Another successful catch."
"Grookey, Grook!" A voice called out. Sora looked around and saw the Grookey up in a tree. "A Grookey!" He turned to Pikachu. "Still rarig to go, buddy?"
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Go get it!" Sora said. Pikachu went to battle Groooey. The monkey Pokémon jumped and aimed its stick at Pikachu. "It's coming at you with Branch Poke! Watch out!" Sora callled out. Pikachu managed to avoid Grookey's attack Grookey then lands a Scratch onto Pikachu. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings at Grookey and it lands up against a tree. Sora takes out a Pokéball and threw it at Grookey. Grookey flows inside and it wobbles around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora looked into his Pokémon Box and saw that Chewtle and Grookey had been registered inside it. "Looks like I'm on a roll here. Wonder how Kairi's doing."
"Pikachu," Pikachu wondered the same about Angel.
Speaking of which, Angel is sniffing ahead for any signs of the black Wooloo as Kairi and Milo are searching for it.
"You have any idea why that one Wooloo just wonders around?" Kairi asked.
"I wish I knew. That little one always been such a handful. I just hope we find it soon, before something bad happens," Milo said. Angel got a whiff of something and ran off ahead.
"Angel's got something!" Kairi said.
"Let's follow her and see," Milo said as they both followed. A Skwovet is seen stuffing its cheeks with berries and sets off to find more. They ran to find that the black Wooloo is picking a fight with a Galarian Farfetch'd. "Oh no! It's a Farfetch'd!"
"Why is he picking a fight with Wooloo?" Kairi asked.
"Or it could be Wooloo picking a fight!" Milo said. Kairi was confused by what Milo said.
"What do you mean?" Kairi asked.
"That little Wooloo has a history of picking fights with the other Wooloo. I figured maybe, the reason for that is because it was getting sick of the easy wins and went looking for a challange," Milo said. The black Wooloo tackled the Galarian Farfetch'd, but he fought back by swinging his oversized stalk. The black Wooloo got struck hard, but got back up. The black Wooloo kept going, but the Galarian Farfetch'd just swung at the black Wooloo. Not willing to stand by, Kairi turned to Angel.
"Angel! Go and-" Milo cut her off.
"I'll deal with this!" Milo said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Eldegoss!" He threw it and it lets out a Pokémon with a light green head with amber-brownish eyes with darker green triangles above both said eyes. It also has pupils the same color as its face and a black mouth. Its lower body consists of a yellow upper part that resembles a cloak, and a darker green lower part that resembles a dress. Kairi was amazed by Milo's Pokémon. "Use Sleep Powder!" Eldegoss sprinkles Sleep Powder on the Galarian Farfetch'd and started to fall asleep. "Good work as always, Eldegoss." He recalls Eldegoss. The black Wooloo turned to Milo who gave the black sheep Pokémon a stern look. "How many times must I tell you to stay with the others? I told you all that fighting will land you into trouble, one day." Milo took the black Wooloo in his arms. "Thank you for your help, Kairi."
"It's not a problem. My boyfriend would have helped out as the same as you," Kairi said.
"All the same, thank you," Milo said.
"Also, that was an amazing Pokémon you had there," Kairi said.
"Oh, you mean Eldegoss? Thank you. I thought it might interest you to know that there are some wild Gossifleur around here," Kairi asked. Milo took out a Pokéball and opens it. "Like this." The Pokémon inside it is a small, plantlike Pokémon with a large, yellow flower on its head. This flower covers most of its cream-colored head, which has a green stripe down its forehead and two yellow eyes with black scleroses. It has red, hair-like growths surrounding the back of its head and a green stem-like body. "This is what Eldegoss evolves from."
"So cute. I'll keep my eyes open for one," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Good luck and thank you again," Milo said. "Come on, now. Let's go home." Kairi left to look for a Gossifleur as Milo, his Gossifleur, and the black Wooloo went on home. The Galarian Farfetch'd is still fast asleep from Eldegoss's Sleep Powder.
Back to Sora and Pikachu, Sora and Pikachu found themselves challenged by a Scorbunny. Scorbunny starts to kick up in the air.
"You ready to tango, Scorbunny?" Sora asked.
"Scorbunny, bun!" Scorbunny challenged.
"I'll take that for a yes. Pikachu! Go!" Sora said. Pikachu got ready to battle. Scorbunny dodges and fired Ember. Pikachu got hit by Ember. Scorbunny then comes at Pikachu with its legs sticking out. "Dodge and use Quick Attack!" Pikachu lands a Quick Attack onto Scorbunny. The rabbit Pokémon Quick Attack of its own. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings Iron Tail at Scorbunny. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it at Scorbunny. The Pokéball wobbles around and around and stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. "Another Pokémon from the Galar region caught."
"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
Over to Kairi and Angel, the found what they were looking for. It was a Gossifleur indeed. Gossifleur was tired from the battle.
"Now, use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift and pelted Gossifleur. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. It struck Gossifleur and flows inside. Stars swirls around it and confirms the catch. "First, I get a Blipbug, then a Wooloo, and now a Gossifleur. Better go see how Sora's doing. Right Angel?"
"Eevee!" Angel agreed.
Over to Sora and Pikachu, Sora is now face-to-face with a Sobble. The wild Sobble fires Water Gun at Pikachu. The mouse Pokémon dodges by jumping out of the way.
"Thunderolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt, but the water lizard Pokémon easily dodges the attack. Sobble then turns invisible. Sora didn't remember Minerva's Sobble doing that before. "Listen for Sobble's movements and hit it when you fell it's close!" Pikachu nodded. Pikachu listened carefully for Sobble's movements. Sobble moved silently as possible as Pikachu had struck with Iron Tail, making Sobble turn visible again. Sobble then, starts crying, making Sora and Pikachu cry as well. "Keep holding on, Pikachu!" Sora was trying to fight the urge to cry as tears streams down his face.
"Pika," Pikachu weeped as he also did his best not to cry.
"Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu rand and lands a Quick Attack onto Sobble. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it at the weakened Sobble. The Pokéball wobbles around for a moment until stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. Sora's new Pokémon Box activates, informing him that he has six in his possession. It asks him if he wants to keep Sobble with him or send it to Professor Oak's lab. Sora chose to keep Sobble to Professor Oak's lab in exchange for Linoone. "And that's all the starter Pokémon from the Galar region. Better see how Kairi's doing."
"Why don't you ask me yourself?" Kairi asked. Sora turned to see his girlfriend.
"How did it go?" Sora asked.
"I got two new ones. A Wooloo and a Glossifleur," Kairi said. "You?"
"Got these," Sora said, letting out Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Chewtle. Kairi had let out her new Wooloo and Gossifleur. Sora took out his Pokédex to scan Kairi's laterst Pokémon. "Let's see what this has to say about you."
Gossifleur, the Flowering Pokémon
Type: Grass
It anchors itself in the ground with its single leg, then basks in the sun. After absorbing enough sunlight, its petals spread as it blooms brilliantly. It whirls around in the wind while singing a joyous song. This delightful display has charmed many into raising this Pokémon.
"A suitable Pokémon for you, Kairi," Sora said, making Kairi blush.
"Thank you, Sora. And these three are just the cutest," Kairi said. The Galar starters all blushed as they were called cute. Sora turned to the Galar starter Pokémon.
"Chewtle, Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, this is Kairi and Angel. Say hello," Sora said. Sora's four new Pokémon all said hello to their trainer's girlfriend.
"It's very nice to meet you," Kairi greeted them. "How about we get our new friends over to the Pokémon Center to rest up. I'm sure Pikachu and Angel could use the rest."
"Yeah, Pikachu could use a rest. The same for the rest of them," Sora said. The coule called back their new Pokémon and headed off to the Pokémon Center. Once Pikachu, Angel, and the others had been checked in, Sora decided to make a phone call back home. Professor Oak answers it.
"Ah, Sora, what a happy coincidence, I was just thinking about you. I trust you and Kairi had made it over to safely in the Galar region?" Professor Oak asked.
"Yes we did. We're over in Wedgehurst right now and we met Professor Magnolia and her granddaughter Sonia," Sora said,
"I see. And how did that meeting go?" Professor Oak said.
"It went good. In fact Kairi and I got something called a Pokémon Box. It works just like my Pokédex. We can both make a switch of our Pokémon whenever we want without having to share it," Sora said.
"That is something. I thought odd that the lab wasn't repsonding to your Pokédex, very odd indeed. But all the same, we recieved your new Zigzagoon andI was truly amazed by its appearence. What a gem you presented here. I would like to have a look at those as soon as you return home," Professor Oak said.
"I already plan on it, but there's something I think you should know," Sora asked.
"Oh? And what could that be, my boy?" Professor Oak asked.
"Well, the thing is, Kairi and I saw a Pokémon not one of us has seen before. It was purple and red and it was flying through the clouds and giving off red sparks. You know anything about that?" Sora asked. Professor Oak stroked his chin.
"I would say that you and Kairi had bared witness to Eternatus," Professor Oak said.
"Eternatus? Is that a Pokémon?" Sora asked.
"Yes. And the red sparks you have described can only be energy known as Dynamax," Professor Oak said.
"Dynamax? What's that?" Sora asked.
"Professor Magnolia has been doing research on this phenomenon for many years. From what I can understand, it is said to have the power to make a Pokémon grow into gigantic size," Professor Oak said.
"Whoa. That is cool," Sora said.
"I thought you would be impressed, Sora. This has only occured in the Galar region and nowhere else. But, I would suggest that you bare witness to it yourself and you would be truly amazed," Professor Oak suggested.
"I'll do that, professor. And thanks," Sora said.
"Of course, my boy. I'll be sure to tell your mother that you called to say hello," Professor Oak said.
"Yeah, you do that," Sora said. "We'll see you when we get back."
"And you too, Sora. You and Kairi enjoy your vacation," Professor Oak said. They both broke contact. Sora then made another call to Professor Kukui's phone. He answers it to see Sora's face.
"Hey! Sora! Alola!" Professor Kukui greeted.
"Alola, Professor Kukui!" Sora greeted.
"I just heard from Lillie about the accomplishments that you and Kairi had made in the Hoenn region. Congratulations to the both of you," Professor Kukui said.
"Thanks, professor. And I just wanted to say congratualtions on the baby you both have," Sora said.
"Thanks for that, Sora. It's a real Blast Burn to see your face and hear your voice," Professor Kukui said. "Illima and the rest should be thrilled that you called.
"Actually, I need you to keep this call a secret from them," Sora said.
"And whys that?" Professor Kukui asked.
"The thing is, the reason I'm calling is that Kairi and I are planning a surprise visit to Alola, so I want you to keep it a secret from them until we get there," Sora said.
"Of course, Sora. But, where are you and Kairi right now? You can't be on another journey already, could you?" Professor Kukui asked.
"Kairi and I are in the Galar region for a vacation. We're also there catching the Pokémon that lives there," Sora said. Professor Kukui laughed.
"I'm sure they'll be very impressed. And I'm looking forward in seeing your new Pokémon when you arrive," Professor Kukui said. "Also, they may have a surprise for you."
"Well, I'm sure it's very surprising," Sora said. Just then, the bell goes off, letting Sora know Pikachu and his other Pokémon are all better. "Gotta go, Pikachu and my other Pokémon are healed up. We'll see you there after our Galar vacation."
"And you too. Just let me know when you arrive and I'll be there to greet you personally," Professor Kukui said. They both broke contact. Sora and Kairi went to Nurse Joy and picked up their Pokémon.
"All of your Pokémon are fighting fit," Nurse Joy said. The couple takes their Pokéballs from the two Pokémon, helpig Nurse Joy. They were both bipedal, mammalian, vaguely sheep or goat-like Pokémon. Their bodies are predominantly dark purple with white markings. They have brown eyes and white hands with three fingers. One has horns pointing upwards while the other has horns pointing downwards. Both have fat, wide-hipped torsos while the one with the horns going up has torso is tapered, more slender, and purple while theone's whose horns are going down is rounded, plumper, and white. The one whose horns are going up has blue marks between its eyes while the one whose horns are going down red marks above its eyes. Their feet are white and have three toes,but the one whose horns are going up has more white than the other one. Sora and Kairi were amazed by the two Pokémon.
"Wow, the other Nurse Joys all have Chansey and Blissey, also Comfey in Alola, but I never seen these before," Sora said.
"Me neither," Kairi said. Nurse Joy giggled.
"I take it that this is the first time you have seen Indeedee," Nurse Joy said.
"Indeedee, huh?" Sora asked, taking out his Pokédex to scan them. The image on his Pokédex shows the both of them.
Indeedee, the Emotion Pokémon
Type: Psychi/Normal
Indeedee are Pokémon that can sense emotions from the horns they possess. The males acts well as valets for those they serve, looking after everything they need. The females are particularly good at babysitting.
"Indeedee must be the kind of Pokémon to have anywhere with service," Sora said. The male Indeedee bows his head as the female does the same.
"Indeedee help out around the Pokémon Center. In fact, the nobles of the old days kept Indeedee as maids and butlers," Nurse Joy said.
"And judging how they helped out, they're good Pokémon to have around. Thanks, you guys," Sora said.
"Indeedee," the two Indeedee said. The couple had their dinner in the messhall as the Pokémon had a taste of Kairi's Pokémon food.
"So, what did Professor Oak have to say?" Kairi asked.
"He's thriilled that we're a good time and about our new Pokémon Boxes. Also, about Dynamax," Sora said.
"Dynamax?" Kairi asked.
"Professor Oak said it can make a Pokémon grow giant-sized. And the Pokémon we passed by today is called Eternatus," Sora explained.
"Wow, that's amazing. Could Eternatus have something to do with Dynamx?" Kairi asked. Sora took out his Pokédex.
"Only one way to find out," Sora said, looking up Eternatus's information.
Eternatus, the Gigantic Pokémon
Type: Poison/Dragon
The core on its chest absorbs energy emanating from the lands of the Galar region. This energy is what allows Eternatus to stay active. It was inside a meteorite that fell 20,000 years ago. There seems to be a connection between this Pokémon and the Dynamax phenomenon.
"And that answers that," Sora said.
"That's amazing," Kairi said.
"I know, right? Porofessor Oak said we should see it to really be amazed," Sora said.
After they ate, they stared out in the Galarian night sky. They were staring at the stars with awe and held hands.
"It's so pretty here," Kairi said.
"It sure is," Sora said.
"I gotta hand it to you, Sora, it was a wonderful idea. And I wnted to thank you for inviting me here," Kairi said.
"I wanted to, Kairi. After all, you deserve it. And I know you'd do the same for me," Sora said. Kairi blushes.
"You're right. I would. Only because I love you, Sora," Kairi said.
"I love you too, Kairi," Sora said. He and Kairi shared a loving and passionate kiss under the night stars, in the same passion as their first offical kiss. Watching them kiss is an Impidimp and an Hatenna.
Over to the Galarian Farfetch'd, he woke up to find the black Wooloo was gone and looked around. The Galarian Farfetch'd tried to remember what happened and then realized it was an Eldegoss that placed him to sleep with Sleep Powder. The Galarian Farfetch'd picked up his stalk to search for someone to fight.
On the very next morining, the couple woke up feeling quite refreshed from that sleep. They took the time they needed to take in the moring of the Galar region. They went out to have themselves a good hardy breakfast that the Galar region had to offer. As they stepped back out, a wild Yamper came barking at Pikachu.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked. The Yamper then started to pounce onto the mouse Pokémon , but Pikachu quickly dodges it.
"Hey! What's that Yamper's problem?!" Sora exclaimed.
"I don't know, but he's pretty different from Sonia's Yamper," Kairi said. Yamper comes at Pikachu again with a Tackle.
"Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Yamper and lands a hit. Yamper charges at Pikachu and nuzzles him as sparks hurting Pikachu. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings his tail at the puppy Pokémon and lands a hit. "Quick Attack!" Pikachu lands a hit onto Yamper. Sora takes out a Pokéball and threw it at Yamper. Yamper flows inside it and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box activates and it asks him if he wants to keep Yamper with him. He chose to send Yamper to Professor Oak's lab. This drew in a crowd as they clapped their hands to witness the catch. "Hey, thanks."
The couple got ready to depart to the train station, they saw loads trainers, carrying their injured Pokémon.
"What happened?" Kairi asked.
"A crazy strong Pokémon did this to all our Pokémon," a trainer carrying his hurt Chewtle said.
"A crazy strong Pokémon?" Sora asked. Just them they heard a dragging sound. They turned to see what it was. It was the same Galarian Farfetch'd from the day before.
"I's that Farfetch'd from before!" Kairi said.
"Did something happen?" Sora asked.
"I was looking for a Pokémon to catch, but I ran into a farmer named Milo who was looking for a missing Wooloo and he was picking a fight a fight with that Farfetch'd!" Kairi said.
"So now, that Farfetch'd is picking a fight," Sora said. The Galarian Farfetch'd dared Pikachu and Angel to come at him. Pikachu stepped in. Sora looked at his partner "You go for it, Pikachu."
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded. Pikachu stepped in to battle the Galarian wild duck Pokémon. Pikachu's cheeks sparkled with electricity. But, Scorbunny popped out instead. "Pi?"
"Scorbunny?" Sora asked. Scorbunny looked back to Sora. "You wanna battle Farfetch'd instead?" Scorbunny nodded. "I understand." He turned to Pikachu. "Sorry, buddy, but it's going to be Scorbunny's time to shine."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, understanding. Pikachu respectfully stood aside and allowed his newest friend to battle. Scorbunny glared right at the Galarian Farfetch'd ready to give it everthing he's got.
"Scorbunny! Double Kick!" Sora ordered. Scorbunny dashed to the Galarian Farfetch'd to give him a kick, but the Galarian Farftech'd just blocked with his stalk. The Galarian Farfetch'd raises his stalk above his head and brings it down to smack Scorbunny. "Dodge with Quick Attack!" Scorbunny dodged the stalk with his speed. "Use Ember!" Scorbunny fires Ember, but the Galarian Farfetch'd blocks the ember with his stalk. "Scorbunny! Tackle!" Scorbunny charges to the wild duck Pokémon with force of his body. The Galarian Farfetch'd got ready to swing his giant stak at the rabbit Pokémon. The Galarian Farfetch'd swung the stalk with all his might an Sora was ready for it. "Dodge it now!" Scorbunny jumps and avoids the stalk. "Quick Attack and then Ember!" Scorbunny ran and fired Ember again and again. The Galarian Farfetch'd took the hits of Ember and came out swinging; literally to land a hit on Scorbunny.
"Brutal Swing!" Kairi gasped.
"Scorbunny!" Sora gasped.
"PIka!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel gasped.
The Galarian Farfetch'd stopped swinging and panted out of exhaustion. Scorbunny was getting tired as well. It was all the running he did and the Embers he fired. Sora was about to call Scorbunny back, but he looked at the rabbit Pokémon and wanted to stay in it. Sora had had to try something new.
"Tackle and then Double Kick!" Sora ordered. Scorbunny ran towards the Galarian Farfetch'd and tackled him and then gave him Double Kick before the Galarian Farfetch'd could respond. Once Sora was certain he was weakened enough, Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Pokéball struck the Galarian Farfetch'd and flows inside it. The Pokéball wobbles around violently, knowing he might not stay in for long. Stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box activates and it asks him if he wants to keep the Galarian Farfetch'd with him. He chose to keep him in exchange for Chewtle. Sora picked up the Pokéball and he picked up the rabbit Pokémon in his arm. "Good work on your first battle, Scorbunny. I knew you could do it."
"Scorbun," Scorbunny said.
Sora and Kairi have gotten themselves a good start on their vacation and who knows what other Pokémon they'll hope to encounter in the Galar region. Waiting just makes the excitement worth looking forward to.
