Episode 293: The Land of Subcon: A Better Mouser Trap
To be honest befoore we get this started, I was having a hard time on which world to start in. I figured Sora, Kairi, and their Pokémon has their first mission dealing with the events of Super Mario Bros 2 with some lsight changes to go with it. So, favorite, follow, and leave a review.
After forming the alliance of heroes, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth make preparations to head for all new worlds to see what is beyond their own universe. Delia and Kairi's families weren't surprised to hear that there's another adventure coming their way. Tails wanted to have a look at Sora and Kairi's Pokémon Boxes while the rest were getting to know the world. Crash tried to ride on Mudsdale's back, only to end up getting bucked off and a Mud Shot in the face. Iris was captivated how cute Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum were.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth were packing up what they needed and the right Pokémon for the job. Sora decided to go with Fearow, Crabominable, Oranguru, Ekans and Koffing while Kairi decided to go with her Vulpix, Sandshrew, Goldeen, Milotic, and Claydol.
"Are we set?" Sora asked.
"All set, Sora," Meowth said.
"Set," Kairi said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Great! Just gotta pick up our Pokémon Boxes from Tails and we'll be on our way," Sora said.
"And what perfect timing," Tails said, giving Sora and Kairi their Pokémon Boxes. "The upgrade I gave them should do the trick."
"What upgrade?" Kairi asked.
"I upgraded them just so you can switch your Pokémon anytime you need to. It'll work even when you're in other dimensions," Tails explained.
"That's good to know, Tails," Sora said. "And it's very helpful."
"That's all good and ll, but what are we gonna do about going in and out of the other dimensions and everything? I mean, when we go in, how are we going to get back out?" Meowth asked.
"That should be snap, Meowth," Bianca said, walking in. "Since Zelda used magic to get here, it'll be magic to get you back. Zelda taught me the spell she used to get here and teleport everyone else, so we can use the dimensional rifts to go in and out whenever we need to."
"Also, keep in tough with these," Alia said, walking in and gave a communication watch to Sora and Kairi. "Keep those on at all times and we can talk whenever you need to talk. Pretty much, everyone already already has one."
"Nice," Kairi said.
"But someone should go with you just so you don't end up getting lost," Alia said.
"But where would we be going?" Sora asked.
"The first place we should check out is to the Mushroom Kingdom. We can head right for Bowser's castle because that's the most likely place Bowser will keep the princess," Luigi said.
"That's a good start as any," Sora said. "Also, we should be able to rescue Sparx for Spyro while we're at it."
"Then, you are going to be needing these," Professor Oak said. He turned to Brian and Brianna. "Okay, Brian, Brianna, give them the boxes."
"Indeedee," Brian said.
"Deedee," Brianna said.
The Indeedee handed the couple two two identical boxes. Sora and Kairi were wondering what was inside of them.
"What's in these?" Sora asked.
"Open them and find out," Professor Oak said. Sora and Kairi opened them and saw they were full of Oran and Sitrus Berries along with some potions.
"Oran Berries and Sitrus Berries," Sora said.
"Also Max Potions and Full Restores," Kaiir added.
"I figure you might need them since these berries won't be found in those other universes. But use them only in case of an emergency," Professor Oak said.
"On it," Sora, Kairi, and Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Okay, Bianca, we're ready," Sora said. Bianca uses her magic to open a dimesional rift as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi went on through. They arrived to the Mushrrom Kingdom. They looked around and they knew they were in a whole completely different world. "So, this is the Mushroom Kingdom. Not as mushroomy as I thought."
"You would think-a so, Sora, but it's just-a good to be-a back again," Mario said.
"But it looks like a nice peaceful place," Kairi said.
"But if we wanna keep it that way, we gotta find the princess and bring her back to her castle," Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"Right, let's get a move on. Mario, Luigi, since you dealt with Bowser the longest, why don't you lead the way?" Sora asked.
"Right. Follow us," Mario said.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth followed the Mario Brothers through the grassy lands of the Mushroom Kingdom and began to make their way to Bowser's castle. Unknown to them, a Koopa riding in a cloud with a smiley face. His head is rather smaller than a Koopa Troopa, and has a smaller circular nose. It also wore goggles. He also has a ring pattern on his shell. He was looking at them through a telescope.
"It's those plumbers, and they got some friends with them. Better let Junior know about this," the Koopa in the cloud said. He flew up ahead of them. He eventually reached the castle and entered as Princess Peach was in a cage in the throne room and Sparx is in a magical bubble
Bowser Jr. was driving around in the throne room in a kart with his face as an symbol on the bumper.
"Yay! This is so much fun!" Bowser Jr. said with glee. The koopa flew in to bring in some news.
"Junior, sir, I'm sorry to interrupt your fun, but-" the koopa tried to say.
"Then don't, Lakitu!" Bowser Jr. said. He kept on driving around.
"But, your littleness! It can't wait!" Lakitu said.
"Go away! I'm having too much fun!" Bowser Jr. said.
"But, sir! It's imporant! Mario, Luigi, and two kids are coming this way!" Lakitu said. Bowser stops driving around and gave him a look.
"You interruppted my fun just for that?" Bowser Jr. asked.
"Here is how it happened. They came out of a dimseional rift, the same kind your father uses to come in and out whenever he wanted, along with three creatures I never seen before," Lakitu said. Bowser Jr. was displeased, but Peach was happy to hear Mario and Luigi was coming to her rescue. Sparx hoped he was going to be saved too.
"Why didn't you say so? Get Kamek in here! He'll know what to do!" Bowser Jr. ordered.
"On it!" Lakitu said, heading to find Kamek. Boswer Jr. heads for a periscope and he uses it to spot Mario, Luigi, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth heading towards the castle.
"Those plumbers are persistent, and I hate that! I gotta get rid of them fast!" Bowser Jr. said.
"They'll find a way to save me. I can guarantee that," Peach said.
"Don't be so sure, Princess. Mario and his stupid brother will fail to get here and this time," Bowser Jr. gloated. Just the, a Koopa came in with a magic swirl of a circle, square, and triangle. He wore blue robes and a pointed hat like any wizard. The brims on his robes and hat are white and he wore a pair of round glasses. He is holding a golden magic wand with a red jewel, and pair of maroon shoes.
"You summoned me, young master Junior?" The wizard Koopa asked.
"Yes I did, Kamek. Mario and Luigi is using our trick to go in and out of the dimensions like we are and they got some new friends with them! And I wanna know what are we gonna do about it! And by we, I mean, you!" Bowser Jr. stated.
"Well, your youthfulness, may I suggest that we send them into a parallel Mushroom Kingdom?" Kamek asked.
"A parallel Mushroom Kingdom?" Bowser Jr. asked.
"Yes. It is quite similar to the Mushroom Kingdom, but they won't find any Super Mushrooms or any Fire Flowers to give them any super powers," Kamek explained. Bowser Jr. chuckled.
"That's a good idea! I'm glad I thought of it!" Bowser Jr. said, taking all the credit. "Let's get the show in the road, Kamek!"
"Yes, your young powerfulness," Kamek said as he magically called his broomstick and Bowser Jr. took his Koopa Clown Car to fly.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi, they raced through the Mushroom Kingdom's grasslands as fast as they could go.
"How much further is Bowser's castle, guys?" Sora asked.
"We should-a get-a there by Warp Pipe," Mario said. "It's a lot-a faster that-a way."
"You mean, we're actually going down a pipe?" Kairi asked. "Sounds like a dirty job."
"Kinda makes me feel like a swer rat than an ally cat," Meowth said.
"That's what you think, flea bag!" A voice called out. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi all turned to see Bowser Jr. and Kamek above them.
"Bowser Jr. and Kamek!" Luigi gasped.
"Bowser Jr?" Sora asked.
"He's Bowser's son," Mario said.
"And the Magikoopa with him is Kamek! He's Bowser's leading Magikoopa and his adopted father!" Luigi added.
"Well, now, you must be friends of the Mario Brothers. Any friends of these meddlesome plumbers are enemies of the Koopa Troop," Kamek said.
"Gee, I feel so honored," Sora said sarcastically.
"Why don't you just make it easy and give the princess and Sparx back!" Kairi said.
"Why should I?" Bowser Jr. asked.
"Just so you can save us the trouble of giving you a spanking!" Sora said.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, because my dad's the king of the Koopas and he'll flatten you flatter than a pancake!" Bowser Jr. said.
"Ahem, perhaps you should let me handle this, your smallness," Kamek said.
"Fine, just get rid of them!" Bowser Jr. ordered.
"At once, your little highness," Kamek said. He waved his wand.
"Loopa Koopa! Supa Dupa! Enemies begone! Send our enemies to Subcon!" Kamek chanted waving his magic wand. A twister quickly surrounds them and they couldn't get out.
"Hey! What are you doi-?!" Sora exclaimed as he and the others all vanished.
"It is done, your young Koopaness," Kamek said.
"Oh, dad is going to be so very happy with me!" Bowser Jr. said with glee. "Come on, Kamek, let's head back and tell him the good news!" Bowser Jr. and Kamek flew back to Bowser's castle. They appeared in a strange jungle below them. Sora took out two Pokéballs as Kairi took out one.
"Fearow! Koffing! Come out!" Sora called out.
"Claydol! Come out!" Kairi called out. The three Pokémon all came out of their Pokéballs. Meowth is grabbed by Fearow and Luigi takes hold of Koffing who is floating up. "Claydol! Psychic!" Claydol uses Psychic to slow down their fall. They make a landing on the ground.
"Mama mia, that's was-a close," Mario said.
"It sure was. But where are we?" Sora asked.
"I don't know. I don't think we ever been in here before," Luigi said.
"Better make contact back home," Sora said. He acivates his communication watch and manges to reach Alia.
"Did you make it there already?" Alia said.
"Alia, we kinda hit a little snag on our way to Bowser's castle. His son and his goony wizard sent us somehwere else," Sora said.
"Wasn't expecting that to happen. So, where are you now?" Alia asked.
"We're somewhere, that's for one thing, but we have no idea where we are exactly," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Just be careful. Whatever is there, be sure that you see it before it sees you," Alia said.
"Roger that," Sora said. "We'll make contact with you again when we need some help, over and out." Sora deactivates it.
"So, we're just going in some random location, right?" Meowth asked.
"You heard Alia, whatever is here, we wanna be sure that we see it before it sees us," Luigi said.
"Then, we should get a move on," Kairi said.
Unknown to them, a pair of Shy Guys are watching them closely. One is red and the other is pink. They whisper to each other in their own language and they go inform an anthropomorphic gray mouse wearing a pair of sunglasses, purple gloves, and boots.
"What are you going at?" The mouse asked. The two Shy Guys point to the strangers. "So, that's it, huh? Better make contact." He took out a crystal and spoke into it. "Oh, great and powerful Wart. I speak to you now."
Up in a castle up in the clouds, there lived a large, green frog with a big white round belly, a vaguely crocodilian snout filled large white teeth, and large claws on his two-toed feet and four-fingered hands. He wore a crown, a large pendant on a gold necklace, and gold bracelets. He was sitting in his throne room as he recives a message from a crystal ball. This frog is in fact, the Wart the mouse was talking to.
"What is it, Mouser?" Wart asked.
"Your royal majesty, two of our forces has just spotted a band of strangers in my territory," Mouser reported.
"Strangers in my kingdom? Who would dare come here uninvited? I order you to capture them and bring the prisoners to me at once!" Wart demanded.
"At once, sire," Mouser said. He looked at the two Shy Guys. "Don't just stand there, gather the others and step on it!" The Shy Guys saluted and went to inform the others. He looked down to the small band. "You are going to be sorry."
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi, they ventured through the mysterious jungle and looked around. They saw what looked like a glass tube with a cork sticking out.
"Hey, what's that?" Meowth asked. He started to pull with all his might. "This is heavier than it looks!" The scratch cat Pokémon pulled with all his might. Meowth finally pulled it out and saw it was a beaker filled with an orange liquid. "Oh boy! Soda pop!" Mewoth tried to get it opened. "Hey, it won't open!" Meowth tried to pry it open with his teeth. "The stupid cork is stuck!" Meowth tried to open it up. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Mario, and Luigi all turned to Meowth and sees what he's doing.
"What are you doing, Meowth?" Kairi asked.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm trying to get this bottle opened and guzzle down this soda!" Meowth said as he's trying to pull the cork out. "Whoever stuck this cork in definitely made this an exercise." Meowth tried to pull out the cork, only to accidentally toss it and explodes when it hits the ground. A door magically appears before them. "Well, that's unexpected."
"Where did this door come from?" Luigi asked.
"I think that thing Meowth was holding was a magic potion and made this door," Kairi pointed out.
"BUt a door to what?" Sora asked.
"We should-a open it and find-a out," Mario said.
"Maybe it's a way out," Sora said. He opened the door and saw it was the exact same thing, but everything all looked like it was at night, despite it the sun in a different shade. "Uh, Kairi, remind me, is the sun supoosed to be out at night?"
"No of course not. Why ask such a silly question?" Kairi asked.
"Maybe that's why," Sora said.
Kairi looked up and saw the sun and she was shocked to see it.
"I see," Kairi said.
"Let's see if we can-a find-a something we can-a use," Mario suggested. They looked around and so far, they found were gold coins.
"These gold coins are like the ones from home," Luigi said.
"I wonder what we could use to buy while we're here?" Meowth asked.
"We have a mission to do, if you remember, Meowth!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"I remember! I'm just asking a question," Meowth said.
"We really don't have time to do a little shopping around here!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"I know that! I mean, if Jessie were here, she would have us shop until we drop," Meowth said. Pikachu facepalmed.
"So much for a way out," Sora groaned.
"It was a good theory, Sora. At least you gave it your best shot," Luigi said. They all teleported out of the alternate realm and made it back exactly where they were. "How did we get back here so fast?"
"We should worry about later, Luigi. We should focus on finding a way back to the Mushroom Kingdom," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Kairi's right, Luigi. The princess is counting on us to make it back to rescue her," Mario said.
"Right, let's get going," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed.
The small squad continued through the strange jungle, not knowing they were being watched by a pair of purple bird-like creatures wearing red masks, but they had bat-like wings as well. They followed to see where they're going. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi all end up at a river.
"How are we going to get across?" Sora asked.
"I have Milotic with us. We can have her swim across," Kairi suggested.
"Put-a that on hold, Kairi. I think-a we have-a the solution literally coming right-a towards us," Mario said. The couple, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Luigi looked where Mario was looking and saw some logs coming their way.
"You mean we're going to jump across?" Meowth asked. "What if we fall in the river?"
"Would you rather stay here and be eaten by a monster lurking somehwere in the jungle, Meowth?" Sora asked in a teasing manner. Meowth winced at the thought.
"I'll take my chances going across the river!" meowth said, jumping on a log. Meowth did the same thing on the next log. Pikachu climbed up on Sor's back as Angel did the same on Kairi.
"Here we go!" Mario said. Mario went first as Kairi followed with Sora following her. Luigi was shaking and he jumped across on one log at a time. Luigi made a little slip before reaching the others.
"Now, let's keep moving forward," Mario said.
"Not so fast!" A voice called out. They turned to see a bunch of Shy Guys, masked bird creatures, and purple ninja-like creatures. One of the Shy Guys approached. "You are coming with us!"
"Shy Guys and Ninji!" Luigi shivered.
"Friends of yours?" Meowth asked.
"Not ours," Mario and Luigi said.
"Tweeters, read them their rights," the first Shy Guy said. One of the Tweeters took out a scroll and unrolls it and reads.
"By royal decree of his most ruthless majesty, the great and powerful King Wart, leader of the 8-Bits and ruler of the land of Subcon, all trespassers are hereby placed under arrest and brought before him to await punishment fitting their crimes!" One of the Tweeters said.
"We didn't do anything!" Kairi said.
"I was on my best behavior! Ask them!" Meowth said.
"Silence! You trespass in the king's jungle and you will be taken into custody at once! Seize them!" The leading Shy Guy commanded. The Shy Guys, Ninjis and Tweeters started to approach them.
"Don't think so!" Kairi said, taking out her two Pokéballs. "Sandshrew! Vulpix! Go!" She lets out her two Ice Types. "Vulpix! Sandshrew! Powder Snow!" Both the Alolan Vulpix and Sandshrew fired their ice attacks and froze them solid. "That ice won't hold them forever!"
"Then, we better going while the getting's good!" Meowth said.
Everyone all started running before the ice started to melt. They made their way inside a cave with a vine at the side, next to a waterfall.
"Maybe we could climb up this vine and see where it goes," Sora said.
"Well, up is the only way to go," Mario said. Sora climbed up first along with Mario, Luigi, Meowth and Kairi. She didn't want to risk one of them looking up her dress, unless they were blindfolded. They made it to the top of the waterfall and saw a doorway.
"There!" Sora said, pointing to the door. They all headed for the door and headed out. They made their way to another vine. They climbed up in the same order and they climbed up to some clouds. "Uh, guys, I think we may have climbed way too high."
"And what gave that away?" Meowth asked.
"The only way to go is up, Sora," Luigi said.
"Luigi's right. We got no other option," Mario said.
"You don't mean actually, set foot on a cloud, do you? What if I fall through?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, nervously.
"Don't worry, Mario and I did it before and you should do the same," Luigi assured. Sora was nevous at first, but he placed his foot on the cloud and then stood firmly on ot. Much to his surprise, he didn't fall through it at all.
"Hey, you were right, I'm standing right on it," Sora said.
"Told you," Luigi said. Kairi and Meowth climbed up as Pikachu and Angel jumped off and felt the fluffiness.
"I never thought I would be doing this for real!" Sora said.
"Same here! I never dreamt of this since I was little," Kairi said.
"There are other vines we can go up from here," Luigi said. Everyone all climbed up the vines and saw some ladybug-like insects coming down. Pikachu blasted them off with Thunderbolt as Eevee used her Swift on them. They kept going up to find a ledge. They got off and went forward. They just a stone wall in front of them.
"Looks like we hit a dead end," Sora said.
"You got that right!" A new feminine voice called out. Just then, a pink dinosaur-like creature came down. It has a funnel-like mouth and wore a pink bow. It has a white underbelly, also purple spots on its cheeks and has red spines. It has four pointed claws on each hand and three on each foot. "This is far as you go!"
"A Birdo!" Mario and Luigi exclaimed as Birdo shoots out an egg. They all duck as the egg shoots pass them.
"Hey, what's the big gag?!" Meowth excalimed.
"The gag is that you think you can just come in our beautiful land like you own the place and expect us not to do anything! I'm going to teach you awful villains a lesson!" Birdo said.
"Here comes another one!" Luigi yelled. Birdo shoots out another egg as they all hit the dirt.
"Is it seriously shooting eggs at us?" Sora asked.
"That's how-a Birdos defend themselves. Normally they're peaceful, but this one is nowhere near peaceful!" Mario exclaimed.
"And I got a feeling this has Wart's smell on this!" Sora said. Birdo kept firing at them. Neither Sora or Kairi could take out a Pokéball to deal with her, but Meowth was having enough of Birdo's attitude and took an egg.
"Why don't you just scramble?" Meowth shouted as he threw the egg at the attacking Birdo. It struck her in the face and she gets angry.
"You nasty little feline! How dare you strike me in the face with my own egg!" Birdo hissed. Birdo chases after the scratch cat Pokémon as she shoots eggs at him.
"Hey, I'm sorry! I was only joking! It was just an EGG-cident!" Meowth said with a pun. Mario, Luigi, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were thankful to Meowth for the distraction.
"Meowth won't won't be able to outrun her for long," Sora said.
"Let's give him a hand," Luigi said. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Oranguru! Go!" Sora called out as Oranguru comes out. "Oranguru! Psychic!" Oranguru uses Psychic to lift up Meowth and bring him over. Birdo comes at the group. "Use Feint Attack!" Oranguru holds his hand making Birdo stop.
"What is it?" Birdo asked.
"Guru," Oranguru pointed to the left. Birdo looked to the direction Oranguru was pointing.
"What? I don't see anything!" Birdo said. Oranguru smacked her in the face. Birdo got up angered by the trick. "How dare you do that to me!" Birdo was about to shoot another egg at Oranguru.
"Psychic!" Sora ordered. Oranguru blocked the eggs with Psychic and sends the egg back at her and she spits out a crystal ball and lands in Sora's hands. Having enough, Birdo ran off scared. "And don't mess with us again!"
"Thank you," a new voice spoke. Everyone looked around to see where the voice came from.
"Who said that?" Sora asked.
"I'm sorry, but I'm speaking to you from in here," the voice spoke again.
"Where's here?" Sora asked.
"Look in your hands," the voice spoke. Sora looked down and saw it was a fairy inside it. Sora and Kairi were shocked to see a real fairy.
"A real fairy!" Sora said.
"Are you trapped inside that crystal ball?" Kairi asked.
"Yes I am. I am grateful that you saved me," the fairy said.
"What are you doing in there? Can't you just use your fairy magic to get out?" Meowth asked.
"It's as simple as it appears to be. It's because of Wart's evil magic that I'm trapped in here," the fairy said.
"How did that happen?" Luigi asked.
"It was such a long time ago since it happened. For ages, we Subcon Fairies lived in this world in peace and harmony, spreading joy and happiness everywhere we went. It all changed when Wart and the evil 8-Bits came into our land and took over. They quickly captured all of us and placed some of us, along with myself in crystal balls while Wart kept the rest of them in his palace. Everyone in the kingdom is too afraid to oppose him since he rules over Subcon with an iron fist," the fairy said.
"How terrible," Kairi said.
"That's how it has been ever since. Wart will destroy anyone who would challenge him and he doesn't like outsiders in his kingdom," the fairy said. Sora knew it wasn't right for someone to waltz right in and take over whenever he felt like it. Sora wasn't going to let it stand.
"I don't know this Wart guy, but he's not going to get away with this!" Sora stated.
"You mean, just risk our necks for someone else when we're on a mission to rescue a princess and a dragonfly?" Meowth asked.
"We are here and Wart isn't going to let us go to do that anyway. So, we gotta put the kibosh on Wart's rule over this world and save Subcon Fairies," Sora said.
"He's-a right. The princess will-a understand for the slight delay when helping out-a people," Mario said.
"She would," Luigi agreed.
"It wouldn't be right to turn our backs on innocent people when they need help. Team Rocket would have done the same as Wart would have," Kairi said.
"Then, the place we're heading for Wart's castle!" Sora said.
"And I can help you on your way. I may not use my magic to get out, but I can help you on your way. The only way for the spell Wart has casted is that you defeat him," the fairy said, creating a path for them to go down on. "Thank you again. But before you go, you should take this guidebook of our land. There are helpful tips you can use to get around. Good luck." With that said, they all took the path down to the next area. As they arrived, they're encountered by a blue crow, sitting on a flying carpet. The crow has its feathers tied in a ponytail. The bird started to come down to swoop at them. They ducked down.
"Now what?" Sora asked.
"I'm what!" The bird called out. The bird floated up and then, some Shy Guys with bug wings come buzzing in. They were all weilding spears. "You outsiders are in for it! Get them, Beezos!"
"Right, Mr. Pidgit!" The Beezos said. They came down at the group. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Fearow!" Sora called out.. Fearow came out and let out a loud cry. "Fearow! Use Drill Peck!" Fearow spun around in the air and plow through the Beezos. "Okay, use Aerial Ace!" Fearow dashed at the buzzing Shy Guys and they scattered across. The Pidgit got scared when Fearow flew up to the bird's face.
"Please don't hurt me," the Pigit pleaded and fell off his carpet.
"Did Wart send you to attack us?" Sora asked.
"He did. You won't go far, because I'm turning you in!" The Pidgit said as Pikachu smacked the bird with his tail. The Pidgit goes flying. A star twinkles in the distance.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"We should-a keep-a moving," Mario said.
"Right, let's go," Sora said. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi make their way the jungle and then came across a door. Sora tried to open it, but it just wouldn't open. "Huh? The door's locked!"
"You're kidding!" Kairi said.
"We could just jimmy open the lock, like so," Meowth said, sticking a claw in the keyhole, only to recive a shock from the keyhole and go flying backwards. He comes back charred and smoking. "That plan didn't work."
"How are going to get through?" Luigi asked.
Kairi took out the guidebook and searched for the answer. She found the solution inside it.
"I found it. We can go through with a magic key," Kairi said.
"A magic key? That's narrowing it down," Meowth said sarcastically.
"Any idea on how we're going to find one?" Sora asked.
"We could look through there," Kairi said, pointing to some grass. There was also some white jars with red marks. They all searched around for a key, Pikachu searches for the key and fell right through. Pikachu lands on the bottom of the bottle. Pikachu saw a key, but unaware of three golden masks with an evil grin. Pikachu takes the key and one of the masks then comes to life as Pikachu jumps out with the key.
"Pika!" Pikachu said. Sora, Kairi, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi turned to see the mouse Pokémon with the key.
"A key! Good work, buddy!" Sora praised his partner. Sora takes the key from his partner. The golden mask comes out of the jar after Pikachu did and chases after everyone. "Whoa! Where did that come from?!"
"Look out!" Meowth yelped as the mask came swooping down at them. The group comes back up and then run as the mask swoops at them again. "Why does that mask have such an attitude?"
"I think it's just a stupid thought, but I think the key has something to do with it!" Sora said.
"You're right, it is a stupid thought!" Meowth said.
"But we do need-a that key to get-a inside, don't we?" Mario asked.
"Mario's right, It's the only way to get through! Kairi said.
The group ran to the door to unlock the lock as fast as they could go. When they reached the door and Mario unlocked the lock and the mask vanishes. They all sighed with relief as the mask had vanished.
"Close," Mario said.
"Too right," Sora agreed. They all walked in to see they're in another cave. They ventured through the cave to see the way blocked with rocks blocking the path.
"Man, this is a huge disappointment," Sora said.
"Dead end again?" Luigi asked.
"Maybe you could-a use your Pokémon for this-a one. Maybe one that can blast our way way through," Mario suggested.
"I don't think that's a good idea, Mario. We might cause a cave in or something. I mean Kairi's Claybol has Hyper Beam and that's real overkill," Sora said.
"Maybe the book has an answer we can use," Kairi said, looking through the book. She looked through the book. She found something that caught her eye. "Here it is. According to this, we can use a Bomb Plant. And they're very common in this world."
"We should start looking for one," Meowth said.
"Wait, there's more. The bomb on the Bomb Plant will be magically lit as soon as it is plucked. So, we should be quick or else... BOOM!" Kairi read.
The group searched around for a Bomb Plant to use. So far, they found some over-sized vegetables. Kairi thought of keeping some of those vegetables for a soup and for Delia and her family to use. Meowth found a Bomb Plant and yelped as the bomb had been lit.
"Found one!" Meowth yelled as he threw it. The bomb makes contact with the rocks and explodes, clearing the way.
"Good work, Meowth." - Angel subtitle.
"Thanks, I try," Meowth said.
"Now, let's get a move on before we're greeted by anymore locals." - Pikachu said.
"You mean like those yahoos in the masks, they're gotta pretty stupid to mess with us," Meowth said.
"Not as stupid as you think, kitty cat," a voice called out. Sora, Kairi, Mario, and Luigi all turn to see a group of Shy Guys with an extended nozzle for a mouth on their masks. The masks all have dark coloration causes it to resemble gas masks. Some of them are gray, while others are blue.
"Great, more Shy Guys," Sora groaned.
"Those aren't Shy Guys. They're Snifits. They're cousins of the Shy Guys, but they shoot bullets from their mouths," Mario said. The Snifits fire their bullets from their masks, making Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Mario, and Luigi duck. Sora looked at Pikachu and he nodded.
"Pikachu, go!" Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded and headed for the Snifits. Some of the Snifits stops shooting and laughed.
"What's it going to do? Nuzzle us to death?" One of the Snifits laughed.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gives all of the Snifits a shock. They all fell on their backs.
"Don't let the cute looks fool you becuase it's got more juice than an orange," one of the Snifits said. The group made their way out of the cave and made their way to a waterfall. They spotted another crystal ball and lifted it up.
"Is someone in there?" Sora asked.
"Yes. Who are you?" The Subcon Fairy asked.
"I'm Sora. This is my girlfriend Kairi, that's Mario, and his brother Luigi. And these are Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth. We already know about the situation about you and Wart," Sora said.
"It is nice to meet you. And thank you for coming in our hour of need," the Subcon Fairy said.
"Can you tell us how we can reach Wart's castle?" Kairi asked.
"Wart has his palace up in the clouds. That is where he solidates his power. To get to the palace, you will need six golden keys to reach it. Wart has given one to each of his generals. You will have to defeat his generals in order to reach it. Only then, will you will proceed further. One of his generals is in a fortress just up ahead of you," the Subcon Fairy said.
"Don't-a worry, because we're on the job," Mario said.
"Thank you all so much," the Subcon Fairy said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario and Luigi headed for the fortress up ahead. They knew by the patrol of Shy Guys and Snifits, they were close by.
"Something tells me, it's not going to be easy to get pass those guards," Meowth said.
"He's-a right, everyone. Those-a Snifits and Shy Guys probably already knows-a about us and are-a expecting us," Mario said.
"And they'll start attacking as soon as we go through the front door," Luigi said.
"Maybe we can sneak in through the back-door," Sora said.
"And if that's a no-go?" Meowth asked.
"Then, we'll have to sneak in from underneath," Sora said. Sora turned to his girlfriend. "Kairi, we can use your Sandshrew to tunnel right in."
"Why tunnel in?" Mario asked.
"I get it! Sandshrew are natural born diggers. Even though hers is an Ice Type and a Steel Type, Sandshrew can still dig underground when they need to," Meowth said. "You can take the shrew out of the sand, but ya can't take the sand of the shrew.
"You're right because my Sandshrew can use Dig. She just needs to dig a tunnel that's big enough to tunnel underneath," Kairi said.
"Also, to warn us if the coast isn't clear," Luigi added.
"Bingo," Sora said, tapping his nose. "Now, let's get a move on before someone sees us." Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario and Luigi snuck around back. They saw there were loads of guards all around. They all knew they'll be caught if they get close enough.
"Looks like we're going with your tunneling plan after all, Sora," Luigi said.
"Kairi, that's your cue," Sora said. Kairi takes out Sandshrew's Pokéball and lets her out. Sandshrew looks right at her.
"Okay, Sandshrew. We need you to dig a tunnel from here to in there. And let us know if there's any signs of trouble," Kairi said. The Alolan Sandshrew nodded and started digging. The Alolan Sandshrew tunneled right under the guards. A Tweeter is talking with a gray Snifit.
"Any idea what's going on?" A Tweeter asked.
"We were told about some outsiders; two guys with hairy lips, two kids, and three funny looking creatures," a Snifit said.
"That's it? Some guys, kids, and their pets?" The Tweeter asked.
"What I heard is that they have some more of those things. The girl has what looks like a white fox and a white pangolin breathe some ice on a squad of Shy Guys, Ninjis and two Tweeters, and it froze them," the Snifit said.
"You're kidding!" The Tweeter said.
"Nope," the Snifit said.
"Eh, what's a pangolin?" The Tweeter asked.
"I don't know, I was just trying to be smart," the Snifit said.
The Alolan Sandshrew successfully snuck in and saw some black round creatures emitting electricity going around. Sandshrew looked around and saw there weren't many around, so she went back to everyone. Sandshrew lets them know that the coast was clear. They all tunnel through and come in through the tunnel.
"Good work, Sandshrew," Kairi said. Sandshrew beamed at Kairi's praise as she calls her back.
"We can cover more ground-a if we-a split-a up-a. Sora and Pikachu are with-a me, and Kairi, Angel and Meowth goes with-a Luigi," Mario said.
"Be on a lookout for some of Wart's goons," Luigi said.
"Right," Mario said.
"Be careful, Sora," Kairi said.
"You too, Kairi," Sora said.
Sora and Pikachu went with Mario as Kairi, Angel, and Meowth went with Luigi. Sora, Pikachu, and Mario looked around for some clues, only to see several Snifits on patrol. Kairi, Angel, Meowth, and Luigi searched around, keeping themselves hidden from wondering Shy Guys with spears. Over to a patrolling Shy Guy, he found a hole in the middle of the floor and went to inform Mouser.
Speaking of which, Mouser was getting some Bombs set for Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario and Luigi in case they make so far.
"There, that's the last one. Now to head on out and get those outsiders before they get too far," Mouser said. The lone Shy Guy came into Mouser's room.
"Mouser, sir! I found a hole in the middle of the floor! We got pests in our fortress!" The Shy Guy reported.
"What? Pests?" Mouser asked. He realized that Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario and Luigi might be inside and figured they were after the golden key. "Sound the alarm and call put everyone here on full alert! It has to be them! And the order is to capture as soon as you see them!"
"Yes sir!" The Shy Guy said, running out. The Shy sounded the alarm as the alarm starts blaring. He spoke in a microphone. "Attention all units! The fortress has been compromised! Apprehend anyone who looks suspicious! Repeat: apprehend anyone who looks suspicious!" The entire staff were on full alert. Sora, Mario and Pikachu knew it wasn't a good thing.
"So much for a sneak attack," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"They must-a have found our way in-a. Well have-a to find-a another way out after we take out whoever is in charge here," Mario said.
"I just hope, Kairi, Meowth, Angel, and Luigi are having better luck than we are right now," Sora said.
It didn't take long for some of the Shy Guys, Tweeters, Snifits, and Ninjis to find Kairi, Angel, Meowth and Luigi as they were quickly surrounded. Kairi took out all of her Pokéballs and threw them. "Milotic! Goldeen! Claydol! Sandshrew! Vulpix!" Her other five Pokémon came out and stood before the guards. "Angel! Use Swift! Vulpix! Powder Snow! Sandshrew! Metal Claw! Goldeen! Waterfall! Milotic! Hydro Pump! Claydol! Rapid Spin!" Kairi's Pokémon all landed a hit onto the attacking enemies. Meowth landed a Fury Swipes on some of them and they run off. "Good work, everyone." All of Kairi's Pokémon beamed.
"Now that they know we're here, we're going have to be extra careful," Luigi said.
"The same for Sora, Mario, and Pikachu too," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said, worrying about Pikachu.
Over to Sora, Pikachu, and Mario, they were found out by the Shy Guys, Snifits, and Tweeters. Sora had let out Fearow, Oranguru, Crabominable, Ekans, and Koffing to deal with them. "Crabominable! Use Ice Hammer!" Crabominable swung his arms and smacked right at the Shy Guys and Snifits. "Oranguru! Psychic! Koffing! Tackle! Ekans! Wrap!" Oranguru uses Psychic to lift them up as Ekans wraps around one of the Tweeters. Koffing lands a Tackle on a Snifit. Mario and Sora threw some mushrooms that looks like blocks right at them. They move forward.
Over to Kairi, Angel, Meowth, and Luigi, they deal with more of Wart's forces as they came across a door.
"You think the key we're looking for might be in there?" Meowth asked.
"If it is, then the general who has it will be inside as well," Kairi said.
"It's not we have any other options here," Luigi said. They went ot the door and saw the sparkling creature go around the wall and saw a bronze key. Above them are the same kind of golden masks. "Not the key, but a key."
"There should be a locke door around here, so we should take it with us," Kairi said. Meowth went to the key to take it.
"If you take that key, you'll be sorry," the sparkling creature said. Meowth looked around. He heard the voice, but he couldn't see whose voice it was.
"Who said that?" Meowth asked.
"I did!" The Sparkling creature said. "Sparks not guard key, Phanto guards key. Phanto wll chase you around until you use key."
"I'm not afraid of no Phantos," Meowth said, taking the key. As soon as Meowth took the key, a giant mask in the background bega to glow red as one of the masks came to life. Meowth saw the mask come to life and fly around.m"On second thought, I am now." Meowth yelped as he ran. Kairi, Angel, and Luigi ran for their lives with key in hand. The Phanto chases after Meowth "It is only after me!"
"It's after you, becuase you're holding the key, Meowth!" Kairi said.
"Then, take it!" Meowth said, tossing it to Kairi. She hands it to Angel.
"Run as fast as you can to find, Sora, Mario, and Pikachu!" Kairi said. Angel nodded and ran ahead, leading Phanto after her. THey followed the female Eevee as fast as they could run. Angel made it right to Sora, Pikachu, and Mario and jumped into Mario's arms.
"Angel, you found they key!" Mario said.
"But it's not gold," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said. Pikachu faced to see the Phanto coming right at them. "Pika, Pi!"
"What's wrong, Pikach-Hey!" Sora yelped as the Phanto charged right at them. "Koffing! Tackle!" Koffing headed for Phanto, only to dodge him. Koffing wasn't going to call it quits. Koffing kept chasing after the Phanto, trying to land a Tackle. Koffing fired Sludge at the floating mask, only to dodge his attack. Mario jumped back as he was almost hit by it.
"Watch-a where-a you're aiming!" Mario said.
"It's coming this way!" Sora said. They ran from the mask, but it wasn't losing them that easily. Kairi, Meowth, and Luigi had caught up with them. "Kairi! Tell me that you have an idea about how to deal with this thing!"
"That mask is called a Phanto and it'll keep chasing after the one holding one of those keys. I'm guessing that there are rooms that Wart doesn't want us to go into!" Kairi said. Sora spotted another door ahead of them.
"There!" Sora said. They headed for the door to find it was locked. "It's locked!"
"Sora, the key!" Mario said, handing the key to Sora.
"Right!" Sora said. He unlocked the door and the Phanto vanishes. "That was close. And that explains on the mask attacks."
"The key want has to be behind this door," Luigi said.
"Then, let's go get it," Sora said.
"Right," Kairi, Mario, Luigi, and Meowth agreed.
"Pika," Pikachu also agreed.
"Eevee," Angel also agreed.
They all went through and saw no one around for miles. They had to assume it was safe until they get closer. They went further in the room and spotted a crystal ball. They saw there was no Subcon Fairy inside. As soon as Sora touched it, the crystal ball opens a way for them to get through. Once inside, they were greeted by Mouser, throwing bombs at them. The bombs all explode after a few seconds after being lit.
"Here, have some bombs!" Mouser said, throwing some more bombs. Crabominable pelts some bombs back at the mouse and they explode around him.
"Good work, Crabominable!" Sora priased. He turned to the mouse. "I'm going to guess you're one of Wart's generals, right?"
"The name's Mouser and you're not going to get your mitts on this key!" Mouser said.
"That's what you think, cheese-breath!" Meowth said. Meowth threw another bomb at Mouser, only to make him yelp. Mouse toss the bombs the opposite direction as the rest of the bombs. Mario noticed how Mouser was being careful around the bombs being boxed.
"Sora, I think I have an idea on how to put Mouser out of business!" Mario said.
"Yeah? How?" Sora asked.
"You can have Pikachu zap those bombs and make them explode!" Mario said. Sora looked at him like he's crazy.
"You nuts? With all of those exploding all at once, we'll be blown to bits!" Sora said.
"Not if we're invincible!" Mario said, handing Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth a star with eyes on them. "These Super Stars will make us invincible! How, hurry!" Sora nodded. Sora and Kairi call back their other Pokémon as Sora gave the word to his partner.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at the bombs. Mouser winced when he saw the bolt of electricity strike at the bombs.
"No! Stop that! If you do that, we'll be blown to kingdom come!" Mouser exclaimed with fright. The bombs all started to explode as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi activates the stars, making them sparkle and swirl different colors. The bombs all explode, taking down the fortress. Mouser go flying in the air and make a landing in the water. Mouser saw he was going over a waterfall. Mouser tried to swim as fast as he could, but he ends up going over the falls.
"NO!" Mouser yelled as he fell.
The fortress's explosion left behind some smoke, and everyone starts coughing as the smoke clears up, leaving behind some ruins. The effects of the Super Stars wore off as they saw the golden key left behind. Sora took the key in his hands.
"One down and five to go," Sora said.
"I can bet that Wart will be sorry if he's messed with us now!" Meowth said, laughing. Wart was watching it from his crystal ball and slams his fist on the arm of his throne in anger.
"That miserable rodent failed his objective! I'll turn Mouser into a mouse burger if I see him again! But I still have my other five generals to deal with them," Wart said. He watched them enter what looks like a desert. He laughs with delight. "This is great. They're heading into Tryclyde's territory next. He uses his magic and makes contact with a red three-headed snake. "Tryclyde!"
"Your highnesssss. How may I sssserve you?" Tryclyde spoke with all three heads.
"Mouser was just defeated by a band of starngers and I need you to make for Mouser's failure by capturing them. They are entering your territory as we speak," Wart said.
"Yessss, your majesssty. Your wisssssh isssss my command," Tryclyde said, breaking contact.
"Tryclyde will make toast out those outsiders. Those Subcon Fairies will have to think twice if they're going to thnk they'll help them," Wart laughs evilly.
Their inter dimesnsional adventure has just begun and they met a slight detour by entering the land of Subcon. And they've been mark for capture by Wart and his followers. Will Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Mario Brothers hope to save the peaceful inhabitants and rescue Princess Peach? Find out as we continue.
