Episode 294: The Land of Subcon: Triple Trouble
Where we left off, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi had just defeated Mouser and gained the first of six golden keys in order to reach Wart's palace. It was after they were sent there by Bowser Jr. and Kamek in order to keep them from going futher to Bowser's castle in an attempt to rescue Peach and Sparx. Upon arrival, they learned that Wart doesn't take too kindly to visitors on his kingdom, in which became his after stealing it from the peace-loving Subcon Fairies. Now, they're heading right into Tryclyde's desert territory to recived the second golden key from Wart's second general. Let's hope that our heroes don't end up being toasted.
Tryclyde slithers in as a bunch of red snakes stood on their tails. Along with Birdos, being pink and red, Shy Guys and Snifits, riding on some pink ostriches, red flowers with eyelashes, Ninjis, Beezos, and yellow cacti with green needles and round segments, making their bodies.
"Attention, all! I have been informed by the king about a band of outsiders making their entrance here in our desert territory. They have taken hold of the golden key that was entrusted to Mouser. We won't make the same mistake! Everyone see that they don't make it here in the fort! Is that understood!" Tryclyde asked.
"Yes sir!" The army of Wart acknowledged.
"Pansssserssss, Pokeyssss, and Osssstro ridersssss! You'll go in firssssst!" Tryclyde said. "And a sssssmall squad of Birdosssss, you go with them too!" The 8-bit army obeyed as they set off to stop Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario and Luigi from going forward. "Some of press on and capture them at once."
"Yes sir!" Wart's minions said.
They set off to capture the otherwordly visitors as soon as they see them.
Back in Sora's world, Danny, Cattleya, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua head back to Porta Vista as Amy, Tails, Cream, Cheese, Shantae, Sky, Bolo, Rottytops, Crash, Coco, the Mane Seven, Spike, Roll, and Team Chaotix went with them. Sonic just ran across the Kanto region and looked around. He saw all sorts of Pokémon living there. Sonic spotted a bunch of Meowth get into a fight with some Rattata and Raticate over food. A Persian shows up and swiped at the mouse Pokémon, making them scatter. The Persian was satisfied to seeing them run off.
"That prissy kitty can't just steal from them like that. They look like they haven't eaten in days," Sonic said. He dashed and swiped all the stolen food before any of the cat Pokémon could blink. He caught up with the Rattata and Raticate and gave them their food. "Here you go, guys. Just giving you back what those cats stole. Enjoy!" The Rattata and Raticate were grateful to the blue hedgehog and happily ate the food.
Upon arriving in Porta Vista, the otherwordly visitors were amazed by the sight of the beach and its city.
"So, this is Porta Vista. It's such a nice place," Tails said.
"I should retire here," Vector said.
"Delia and Sora used to come here on visits and dine in my restaurant every chance they got," Danny said. Crash licked his lips at the thought of having a taste of Danny's hamburgers.
"And no wonder," Charmy said.
"It's very pretty here," Cream said. "Isn't that right, Cheese?"
"Chao, Chao, Chao," Cheese chirped.
"From what we heard from Illima and the rest, it's even better than I thought. Sora have relatives living close to the beach," Sunset Shimmer said.
"Well, yeah. My sister and I always loved this place more than anything in the world. In fact this is the place when I first met Cattleya. You remember, honey?" Danny asked. Rarity became interested in hearing how they met.
"Yes, of course," Cattleya said.
"Just how did you meet? Please tell," Rarity said. Cattleya giggled.
"It was when Spencer's wife introduced us to one another," Cattleya said.
"Spencer? Who's Spencer?" Coco asked.
"Spencer is an old schoolmate of mine and Delia's. His wife was his girlfriend at the time and she introduced me to this angel here and Delia to my soon-to-be brother-in-law," Danny said.
"Sora's dad?" Amy asked.
"Yes. Delia fell for him at the first moment she met him. In fact, he was my best friend at the time. Delia married him when she found out that she was pregnant with Sora. I was very happy for them," Danny said. "But that happiness didn't last forever."
"Huh? How come?" Roll asked.
"What happened to him?" Tails asked.
"He was killed in a car accident when Delia was just six months pregnant. Delia was very devastated and saddened by the news. He wasn't just my best friend, but he was hers too," Danny said.
"How sad," Fluttershy said, starting to cry.
"It is," Danny agreed. "But enough sadness, because we're here for some fun."
"That's what I had in mind from the start!" Shantae said.
"Of course, she would say that," Sky said, rolling her eyes.
Everyone all laughed. Bolo was eyeing some of the local girls in town.
"If there's on constant in the multiverse, there are babes in every wake," Bolo said.
"And here's another constant: rejection," Rottytops said. The female zombie laughed at his expence.
"At least zombies aren't a multiverse constant," Bolo said under his breath.
Back in Subcon, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario and Luigi were wondering the desert for only two days and they haven't ran into any signs of trouble. Sora had exchanged Oranguru, Ekans, Koffing, Crabominable, and Fearow for Mudsdale, Camerupt, Cacturne, Crobat, and Yamask while Kairi exchanged Sandshrew, Vulpix, Goldeen, Milotic, and Claydol for her Kantonian Ponyta, Flaaffy, Sunflora, Snom, and Poliwag. Sora and Pikachu rode on Mudsdale as Kairi and Angel rode on Ponyta and Mario, Luigi and Meowth rode on Camerupt.
"Two days and we haven't seen so much as a mirage," Meowth said.
"Just be thankful that we manage to lose them for right now," Sora said.
"Gee, thanks for the pep talk, Sora," Meowth said sarcastically.
"No, he's right. Wart's army will be expecting us. I can bet one million gold coins that he already knows where here in the desert," Luigi said. Sora looked up to see a squad of Beezos heading their way. And they all were carrying some nets.
"Well, you better start cashing in your winnings, Luigi, because we got trouble right above us!" Sora said, pointing above them as the Beezos were heading right towards them, getting the nets ready.
"Beezos!" Kairi, Mario, Luigi and Meowth gasped.
"Targets in sight! Drop the nets!" The leading Beezo ordered.
"Sir!" The other Beezos obeyed as they dropped the nets. Sora knew they were certain to get caught, but he knew they didn't count on having fire-proof nets.
"Camerupt! Eruption!" Sora ordered. Camerupt fires some flames and they burns the nets. Sora took out two more Pokéballs and threw them. "Yamask! Crobat! Go!" Crobat and Yamask both came out to battle the Beezos. "Crobat! Wing Attack! Yamask! Shadow Ball!" Crobat batted the Beezos at one Beezo as Yamask's Shadow Ball lands a hit on another. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Sunflora! Go!" Kairi called out, letting out her Sunflora. "Use Solar Beam!" Sunflora fires a bright yellow beam of energy, making the Beezos retreat. "I don't think we've seen the last of them."
"You're right-a, Kairi. Those Beezos are probably gonna let whoever's in charge of the desrt of their failure," Mario said.
"Yeah, and about us," Meowth said.
"We should hope that this other guy doesn't have any nasty bombs to throw at us just like Mouser did. Because that's not a plesant thing," Sora said.
"Hey, if he does, we can always use some of those Super Stars again," Meowth said.
"No we can't. Because those were the only ones we had with us, so we brought them in case of an emergency," Luigi said.
"It-a seemed like a good idea since it was an emergency," Mario said.
"Yeah, about those stars you gave us. I thought it was cool that we were flashing different colors when we used them and how we survied that blast. How did you come those?" Sora asked.
"Those stars are just some of the magical items we came across we use to grant us certain abilities," Luigi exlplained.
"What of items and abilities?" Kairi asked.
"Well, for one-a thing, we use Super Mushrooms to make us grow a few inches taller, also there are Fire Flowers that give us fire powers," Mario added.
"Thanks for the explanation, Dr. Suess," Meowth joked.
"They helped us out whenever we took on Bowser to save Princess Peach," Luigi said.
"So, why does Bowser keep taking her anyway?" Kairi asked.
"The thing is that-a Bowser wants to rule the entire Mushroom Kingdom for himself. Every time-a he's tries-a that, Luigi and i foil his plan," Mario explained.
"You don't think maybe Bowser is in love with Peach, do you?" Kairi asked.
"Believe it or not, yes, Bowser is in love with the princess. He's trying to get her to marry him just so he could rule the Mushroom Kingdom leagally," Luigi said. Sora was a bit weirded out, but he had to ask.
"Bowser Jr. isn't Peach's kid, is he?" Sora asked.
"NO!" The Mario Brothers both said at once.
"Just asking," Sora said in defense.
"We should make a stop to rest up. But somewhere they can't see us," Sora said.
"Right," Kairi, Meowth Mario and Luigi agreed. The Pokémon they're riding on makes a small detour to an old pyramid in the desert. Once inside, they meet two kids inside it. One is boy with fair skin, gray eyes, and mid-length green hair with bangs. He wore a white short-sleeved dress shirt over a green long-sleeved undershirt, black trousers, black shoes with green soles, and a green backpack with connected straps. The other is a girl with fair skin, brown eyes, black triangular eyebrows and brown hair with a ponytail on top. She wore a blue t-shirt with a black semi-circle on it, white shorts over black and blue leggings, pink shoes with black straps, white bows and soles, and a white backpack with one strap tied in a knot.
"Who are you?" The boy asked.
"We were about to ask you the same thing," Sora asked.
"Are you on the run from Wart's army too?" Meowth asked. The boy and girl were shocked to hear Meowth talking.
"A talking Meowth!" The girl exclaimed in shock.
"Amazing! I never heard of a Pokémon that can talk before!" The boy said.
"Getting him to quiet down is the trick," Sora said. "Anyway, what are you doing here?"
"We don't know. All I know is that I ended up right here in some weird desert along with this guy here and we get chased by some weirdos in masks," the girl explained.
"Nothing about this place is familiar to me. We both ended up going through some strange void and ended up in the same desert at the same time," the boy explained.
"About that," Sora said. "You may find this hard to believe, but you're actually in a completely different world. You two are in a land called Subcon and it's currently under the management of an evil king, calling himself Wart after taking complete control and he's not the nicest host you'll meet since he doesn't like visitors."
"You're kidding! A completely different world?" The girl asked.
"If I was kidding, then you'd be rolling with laughter right now. You got here through a dimensional rift which ended up here," Sora said.
"Did you go through this dimensional rift?" The boy asked.
"Yeah, but we came out from somewhere else," Kairi said.
"What do you mean from somewhere else?" The boy asked.
"We were-a here on a rescue mission and we end-a up in this land by magic," Mario said.
"I know it's crazy, but it's true," Sora said.
"After being here for a short time, I believe it," the boy said. "And since we're here, my name is Sorrel.
"And I'm Verity," the girl introduced.
"I'm Sora and this is my girlfriend Kairi," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Hi," Kairi greeted. "This is my Eevee Angel."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I'm Mario and this-a is my little brother Luigi," Mario introduced.
"Good to meet you," Sorrel said. "Why are you out here in the desert?"
"We were heading to a fortress somewhere in the desert when we were greeted by some masked guys with wings. And speaking of masked guys, were they wearing white masks or the ones with the nozzles?" Sora asked.
"The ones in the white masks. You met them too?" Verity asked.
"We did. Those masked guys are Shy Guys. Don't let the name fool you," Sora said.
"We found that out the hard way," Meowth said.
"Why you going there? Is that their stronghold?" Sorrel asked.
"We're heading there because of a gold key one of Wart's generals are keeping hold of. We already got one from another one of Wart's generals," Sora said, showing them the key. "Counting the one we need here, we need five more to get to Wart's castle to save the Subcon Fairies."
"And put-a Wart out of business," Mario said.
"And try to avoid his army while we're at it," Meowth said, sticking his head out, only to have Pikachu pull him back in. "Hey! What's the big idea?"
"Do you have a death wish? You can't just stick your head out like that! What if they see us?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"They ain't going to see us! Stop being such a worry wart!" Meowth said.
"I just don't want to get us caught! We got lucky, and how long will that luck will last us?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"They ain't going to catch us. How are they going to find us?" Meowth asked. Meowth wasn't going to regret his question yet, but a Cobrat is watching from the sand.
"I found them. Better report thisss to the othersss," the Cobrat said. He dug though the sand to make his report.
Back in Porta Vista, Tails, Cream, and Cheese were happily playing in the water as Shantae, Sky, and Rottytops were catching some sun. Amy was wishing that Sonic was on the beach with her.
"If only Sonic wasn't afraid of water, we would have such a romantic time together," Amy said. She imagine that she and Sonic were on a romantic rendezvous. She imagined that she and Sonic were holding hands and gave each other a passionate kiss to each other. "Oh, it would be the most romantic day of my li-" Amy trips on a sleeping Slowpoke. She got up and glared at the dopey Pokémon. "Hey! Don't lay around where people might see you!" The Slowpoke opened one of its eyes and gave a yawn.
"Slow," the Slowpoke yawned. The Slowpoke heads for the water and sticks its tail in the water. "Slowpoke, Slow."
"Just what do you think you're doing? Are you mocking me?!" Amy exclaimed.
"Slowpoke," the Slowpoke yawned. Slowpoke felt a bite on its tail and pulled it up to reveal a Shellder. "Slow." Amy gasped when she saw the Slowpoke with the Shellder on its tail.
"Hey, is that thing bothering you? I can get it off of you!" Amy said. The Slowpoke then started to evolve. "Why are you glowing like that?" The Slowpoke had become a Slowbro.
"Slowbro," the newly evolved Slowbro said as it started to walk off.
"Must not be bright," Amy said. She saw all sorts of seashells in the sand. "Oh, what pretty seashells!" She began to collect the seashells.
Over to the diner, Vector helps himself to the burgers served to him. Candy wasn't phased since she has seen all kinds of people in many of her years as a waitress. Also, any friend of Sora was always welcome. Crash was doing the same on the hamburger Big Earl made.
"These are the best burgers I have ever eaten," Vector said, taking another bite of his hamburger.
"That's because they're the best ever made, and that's me," Big Earl said. Pinkie Pie was slurping up the milkshakes provided to her. "And I see your friend likes the shakes I make too."
"Keep e'm coming, Big Early Earl," Pinkie said, making Big Earl laugh.
"Big Early Earl. I haven't been called that in years. Sora and Ven used to call me that when they were little," Big Earl said.
Over at the house, Cattleya was rubbing Spike's belly and he enjoyed it so much.
"Who's a cute widdle puppy? Who's a cute widdle puppy?" Cattleya cooed.
"I am," Spike said.
Twilight watched with good humor watching Sora's aunt rub Spike's belly. She laughs. Applejack looked at the family photos along with Coco and Roll. Coco and Roll could only coo at the sight of Sora and Ventus as babies. Applejack even looked at the photo of Delia and Sora's father on the day of their wedding. She saw the same crown necklace he was wearing. She starts thinking about her parents. Coco looked at the country girl.
"Applejack? You okay?" Coco asked.
Applejack snapped out of her stooper, "Huh? Heh, sorry, sugarcube. Mah head's somewhere else."
"I'm sure it was," Coco said.
They continued to look over the photo gallery.
Over to Rainbow Dash on the beach. Rainbiw Dash a swimsuit being a black top with a lightning bolt being yellow, green, and magenta and her shorts being magenta with black on the sides. She also a purple cap with a cloud and a sun, and sandals with purple hearts on the straps. She was playing volleyball with some of the local boys.
"Geez, this girl is quick!" One of the boys said, panting.
"How can she be so freakin fast?" Another boy said.
"Come one! Don't tell me you're calling it quits already!" Rainbow Dash said. More and more challenges were made. Not just some of the local teens were feeling it, but also some of the Pokémon were getting a taste of her speed.
Back in Subcon, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, and Verity were about to take off from the pyramid they were hiding in.
"Better make sure that the coast is clear," Sora said. He looked around only for a dozen Cobrats to stick their heads out the sand. The Cobrats fire small black orbs at them. "Spoke too soon!"
"How did they find us?" Sorrel asked.
"I don't know, but I don't think they're going to be listening to reason," Sora said. Just then, several Snifits and Birdos arrived and started firing. The Snifits fired their bullets as the Birdos started to fire their eggs. Some of the red Birdos fired some fireballs. "Mario, you didn't tell me that they came in red and shoot fireballs!"
"I was-a hoping those weren't around," Mario said. The Cobrats, Snifits, and Birdos kept firing as the Pansers joined in by firing fireballs. The Shy Guys and Beezos got the nets ready to capture them.
"We could just use our Pokémon against them," Verity suggested.
"I don't think so. There's too many of them," Kairi said.
"Also, the Pokémon wouldn't last long against their assault," Sorrel said. Sora thought for a moment and he got an idea on how to get out.
"We could dig our way out! And we'll I have to hurry up and do it!" Sora said. Everyone started to dig with their hands and hurried to get out. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Verity, and Sorrel dug faster making a tunnel in the sand. The pyramid then collapsed, blocking the entrance of their escape.
The 8-Bits ceased their attack on the pyramid as it has collapsed.
"Well, we got them," on of the Shy Guys said.
"He should report this to Tryclyde," another Shy said. The soldiers took their leave of the crumbled pyramid. They all made their way out of the sand and looked around to see the coast was clear.
"That was good thinking on that escape tunnel, Sora. And I don't think they're going to be on our trail of a while," Luigi said.
"We're not out of the woods yet, because they're going to be after us again when they hear that we survived the attack," Sorrel said.
"We should be going before they see us," Kairi said. The group continued forward in the desert, unaware of a pair of Beezos watching them from the sky.
"So they survived the blast. We better inform Tryclyde about this," one of the Beezos said.
Over in Tryclyde's desert fortress, the pair of Shy Guys made their report to their general.
"Are you ssssure none of them are left?" Tryclyde asked.
"Yes sir," the first Shy Guy said.
"The invaders have met their end when they refused to surrender," the second Shy Guy said.
"Excccccellent newssss. King Wart will be pleassssed with thissss bit of good newssss," Tryclyde said.
"I bet we get a medal," the second Shy Guy said. The two Beezos flew in.
"General Tryclyde! Bad news! The outsiders have survived the attack!" The first Beezo said.
"WHAT?!" Tryclyde exclaimed, making the two Shy Guys gulp when the three-headed snake turned to them.
"We swear that they were pancakes!" The first Shy Guy said.
"I'll deal with you later. They're on they're way here to get the key! Double the guards outside and keep them from coming in!" Tryclyde ordered.
"Yes sir!" The two Beezos said.
The group continued to wonder the desert. They kept their eyes open for any signs of the 8-Bits, but so far they haven't seen any of the soldiers. It was disturbingly too easy. Night has come and they found a huge pyramid surrounded by Birdos, Shy Guys and Snifits riding in Ostros, and Pansers looking around.
"It looks like it's the place they don't want us near," Verity said.
"It's gotta be since the whole place is crawling with guards," Meowth said.
"I doubt they'll a back entrance. They only way in is the front door," Sorrel said.
"Any ideas on how we're going to get in?" Luigi asked.
"What we-a need is a distraction to lure them away from the entrance and enter inside," Mario said. Everyone thought for a moment. Sorrel looked at Verity.
"We can draw their attention," Sorrel said.
"You can get the golden key inside," Verity said.
"You sure you wanna do that?" Kairi asked.
"It's the only way to get inside, and we don't have any other options," Sorrel said.
"Do what you have to do. Just be careful," Sora said.
"You be careful too," Verity said. With that said, Sorrel and Verity get set for their distraction. Verity has let out a chubby, light-blue penguin-like Pokémon. It has a dark blue head with a primarily white face and a short, yellow beak. The dark blue feathers on its head extend down its back and around its neck, which causes it to appear to be wearing a cape. There are two white ovals on its chest and a small, light-blue marking resembles a crown above its beak. It has flipper-like arms and yellow feet with three toes each. Sorrel has let out bipedal dog/wolf/jackal-like Pokémon, with a few kangaroo and/or raccoon-like characteristics as well. Its forepaws are black and it has large pointed spikes. There is also a third spike protruding in the middle of its chest. Its ears and muzzle is long and has black "mask" and red eyes. The "mask" also has an added upper stripe. It also has four black sensory bundles on the back of its head, and its torso is covered in yellow fur with thicker patches on the collar. They gave they order.
"Piplup! Use Whirlpool!" Verity ordered. Piplup forms a giant Whirlpool above and hurls it at the 8-Bit soldiers.
"We're under attack!" One of the Pansers shouted. They looked around to see Verity and Piplup looking at them.
"We're up here! Catch if you can, losers!" Verity taunted.
"There! Over there!" One of the Shy Guys shouted.
"After them!" One of the Snifits shouted. The Shy Guys and Snifits ride in first on the backs of the Ostros as the Pansers and Birdos followed. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi waited for the enemy to completely leave.
"They took the bait! Go!" Mario shouted.
They all went inside the pyramid to get hold the golden key. Verity and Piplup ran as the 8-Bit soldiers pursued her. Sorrel turned to the blue Pokémon and they nod to each other.
"Lucario, go! Aura Sphere!" Sorrel ordered. Lucario puts its hands together and creates a blue ball of energy. Lucario then fires it at theenemy soldiers. The Birdos fire their eggs, but Lucario dodges them and gave them a kick on the side. "Use Bone Rush!" Lucario Lucario puts its paws together and spreads them apart, creating two light blue bone made if energy. Lucario smacks at the Birdos, Shy Guys, and Snifits. Some of the Ostros run off as their riders fell off. Sorrel gets an idea. "Verity, we can ride those!"
"You sure?" Verity asked.
"We can! Sora and the rest can handle themselves inside!" Sorrel said. He got on an Ostro and drove it in the opposite direction. Verity got on another, carrying her Piplup and they retreated.
"Don't let them get away!" One of the Shy Guys shouted. The Shy Guys and Snifits that fell off got back on theirs and rode after them. Lucario ran fast enough to catch up. Lucario kicked the sand behind them, blinding them.
"That should distance us from them for now," Sorrel said.
The two trainers rode off through the desert to elude their pursuers.
Back at the pyramid, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi had ventured in the pyramid, but quickly got a greeting from the Shy Guys, Snifits, Tweeters, Pokeys, Cobrats, and Pansers. One of the Tweeters flew before Tryclyde.
"Sir, we got reports that a couple of the invaders have launched an attack on the pyramid fortress, and some more have entered inside," the Tweeter reported.
"Then why are you here when you sssshould be there? Catch them at oncccce!" Tryclyde ordered.
"Yes sir!" The Tweeter said. The Tweeter obeyed and flew to get them. Sora has sent out Yamask, Camerupt, Cacturne, Mudsdale, and Crobat, while Kairi had sent out Flaafy, Ponyta, Sunflora, Snom, and Poliwag.
"Yamask! Use Night Shade!" Sora ordered. Yamask fired Night Shade and it struck some of the enemies as Mario and Luigi fought back with some wooden mallets. "Cacturne! Pin Missle!" Cacturne fires Pin Missle and struck the attacking Shy Guys. Several Pokeys started to come at Kairi and Angel.
"Flaaffy! Electro Web!" Kairi ordered. Flaaffy fires Electro Web and traps the Snifits in it. "Ponyta! Flame Charge! Sunflora! Razor Leaf! Poliwag! Double Slap! Snom! Powder Snow!" Poliwag smascks on of the Snifits with his tail as Snom freezes a couple. Ponyta rams into more Snifits. Snom then started to evolve. The 8-Bit Soldiers were caught off guard when Snom had become a Frosmoth. "You evolved! Frosmoth! Use Icy Wind!" The newly evolved Frosmoth flapped her wings and a cold wind covers them up with icicles. "Now, use Powder Snow!" Frosmoth fires another Powder Snow, freezing them solid.
"Brr," the Snifits shivered.
"Camperupt! Use Earth Power! Crobat! Poison Fang! And Mudsdale! Use High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Camperupt's body glows in an orange aura and slams into the ground. The enemies all fell to the ground. Crobat comes at the Cobrats and bit the jars, while emitting poison. Ymask then started to evolve. Yamask has transformed into a completely different Pokémon. appears to reside in a brown rune stone with a red serpent motif on it. It appears to use the head to shield off most of its face, but its pink eye is visible. The eye resembles that of Cofagrigus. Parts of the snake body is cut off to hide its forearms only its fingers are left exposed. It has a long ghost tail that connects to the snake's tail. The 8-Bit soldiers were scared of the new Pokémon and they ran away in fright. Sora looked at his newly evolved Pokémon with amazement. "I wasn't expecting yu to evolve. Better see what the Pokédex has on you." Sora used it to scan his newly evolved Pokémon.

Type: Ground/Ghost
A powerful curse was woven into an ancient painting. After absorbing the spirit of a Yamask, the painting began to move. Never touch its shadowlike body, or you'll be shown the horrific memories behind the picture carved into it.
"Okay, you're not a Galarian Cofagrigus, but still cool," Sora said. Runerigus beamed at being called cool by his trainer. Luigi was frightened of this new Pokémon.
"What a scary Pokémon," Luigi said, shivering.
"Don't worry, Luigi, he's not gonna bite," Sora assured him.
"I hope not," Luigi said.
"Now, we should get the golden key and head on further," Sora said.
"Right," Kairi, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi agreed.
The small band of heroes made their way through the pyramid, searching for the golden key. They finally reached the pyramid's main chamber and spotted the golden key on a pedestal.
"There it is! The key!" Meowth said. "I guess that general decided to turn tail and run!" Meowth laughed.
"I don't know, I think that might be too easy. Shouldn't there be a guard here to stop us?" Sora asked.
"No guard, but you have ssssealed your doom," Tryclyde said, sticking all three of his heads out of the sand.
"I guess I was wrong about the turn tail and run part," Meowth said.
"Enjoy your tail while you can, cat, because you may not have it once King Wart gets done with you!" Tryclyde said. "The king won't mind if you're a tad singed." Tryclyde fired fireballs from all three heads, making Sora and Kairi hide behind a block mushroom while Mario and Luigi jump to dodge. Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth ran to dodge. "Hold still just so we could cook you!" Tryclyde kept on firing. As Pikachu ran, he got an idea on how to keep the three-headed snake busy.
"Angel, how about you and I run circles around this legless joker?" - Pikachu subtitle. Angel looked at him confused.
"What do you mean, Pikachu?" - Angel subtitle.
"We run circles around him, literally. His three heads will focus on us and he'll end up being tangled up." - Pikachu subtitle. Angel figured it could work. She nods.
"Okay, I'm in!" - Angel subtitle. Pikachu and Angel headed right for Tryclyde. Meowth sees what the Pokémon couple were up to.
"Pikachu, Angel! Come back! You'll get cooked that way!" Meowth called out. Sora and Kairi sees what Pikachu and Angel are doing.
"Angel!" Kairi gasped.
"Pikachu! Don't!" Sora called out.
Pikachu and Angel reached the three-headed snake and started to run around him.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Tryclyde exclaimed. Tryclyde tried to get a fix on them and fired fireballs, only to miss. "Slow down, you furballs! I can't cook you if you keep moving around!" Tryclyde moved his three heads to aim at Pikachu and Angel, but they ended up getting his necks tangled up. "Hey! I can't move my heads!" Tryclyde tried to get loose. Pikachu and Angel felt proud. Pikachu spins Angel around and gave her a kiss and she returns it.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu taunted.
"Eevee!" Angel also taunted.
They both did an eyelid taunt at the three-headed snake.
"Don't think I'm licked! I can still breathe my fire!" Tryclyde said. He tried to fire his fireballs, but his necks were to tight to do it. "I can't send out my fire?!" Pikachu took the second gold key from the pedestal.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Good work, Pikachu! I guess two heads are better than three this time," Sora said.
"Now, we only need four more keys to get to Wart's palace," Luigi said.
"And we better get going," Sora said.
"You won the battle, but the war's not over yet! Not just four more keys for you to get, but four more of King Wart's generals to deal with! The next one will nothing to sneeze at, as you will find out!" Tryclyde threatened.
"If the next one is like you and Mouser, then he better be expecting us," Sora said.
Up in Wart's palace, he is angered that another of his generals had failed.
"Two of my generals defeated?! They're going to be heading for the caves up ahead. That'll be Tyrone's area. It's been a long time since he had some visitors to my understanding. He would be delighted to have visitors coming for dinner," Wart said, making contact with his next general. Wart reaches a red tyrannosaurus rex with green spins, sleeping on a pile of bones. "Tyrone! Tyrone! Wake up, you big stupid waste of scales!" Tyrone opens his red glowing eyes.
"Is it morning already?" Tyrone asked.
"Tyrone, this is King Wart!" Wart said. Tyrone stood on his feet and raised his claw in salute.
"My king! What is your wish?" Tyrone asked.
"Tyrone, there are intruders in Subcon and they're heading into your territory as we speak. I am hereby ordering you that they are to be captured," Wart commanded.
"It'll be done, your highness. And when I do get them, can I eat 'em?" Tyrone asked.
"You have my permission to do so. And after that, I'll reward you with all the meat you can eat," Wart said. Tyrone smacked his lips at the thought.
"Hm, oh boy! Those intruders sound tasty," Tyrone said. Wart breaks contact.
"Tyrone is one of my most ruthless generals, greatly feared because of his appetite. The reason I recruited him for my conquest of Subcon. Tyrone will help keep it that way," Wart said, laughing.
Meanwhile in Ponyville, the Pokémon transported there from several dimensional rifts were having all sorts of odd looks from the local ponies. A mare with a darker shade of pink and a dark purple mane and tailwith a cutie mark a diamond ring with sparkles around the diamond comes out a jewelry shop. She wore an expensive looking blue blouse and a gold necklace. Unknown to her, Murkrow was watching from above. Murkrow swooped down and snatched her gold necklace.
"Aah! My necklace!" The mare exclaimed. She looked up to see the crow-like Pokémon with the necklace. "Give that back, you filthy bird!"
"Murkrow," Murkrow said, shaking its head.
"Return that at once or you will face the consequences!" The mare threatened. Murkrow wasn' tphased by the threat and fired Night Shade at her, making her flinch. Murkrow flew off and headed for his stash. Murkrow placed its new necklace along with some other shiny objects it took. Murkrow marvelled at the glittering objects with glee.
"Shinies." - Murkrow subtitle.
Over in another part of Ponyville, Yanma is seen buzzing around Sweet Apple Acres and helps itself to the red delicious apples. Several bats that are the same color as certain fruits fight Yanma over for the fruit and bats them away and enjoys the spoils. Drowzee wonders around town, looking for some food when it sniffed the air. Drowzee headed for a place that looked like a giant gingerbread house. The hypnosis Pokémon headed for the structure and tried to eat the place, but regretted it when it realized it wasn't real. Pinkie Pie stepped out and sees the taipar-like Pokémon.
"HI there!" Pinkie greeted.
"Drow?" Drowzee asked.
"I'm Pinkie Pie! And what's your name?" Pinkie asked.
"Drowzee," Drowzee responded.
"Drowzee? That's a funny name. I mean, I heard of funny names before, I mean, Pinkie Pie, right? And there's this one guy I met whose name is Sora which sounds like a girl's name, even when he's a boy. I mean, there's that girl from Digimon, but I don't know what Digimon are, but they have loads of funny names, since their names all end in 'mon'." Drowzee was confused since it has no idea what she was talking about. "Anywho, wanna be my friend?"
"Drowzee?" Drowzee asked. It looked at the pink mare and he began to smile and nod.
"Drowzee, Drow, Drow, Drowzee," Drowzee said.
"Alrightty! Would you like to play, Drowzee?" Pinkie asked.
"Drowzee!" Drowzee nodded.
"Come on! We got loads of fun to have! La, la, la, la!" Pinkie Pie said.
"Zee, zee, zee,zee!" Drowzee sang.
Over to Ditto. The transform Pokémon managed to keep its cool by transforming into whatever it saw. Ditto transformed into a squirrel and clibed up a tree. Ditto then transformed into a bluebird and flew. Ditto made a landing at a window. A chubby white cat wearing a purple bow spots the disguised Ditto on the window sill, thinking it's an actual bird. The cat quietly makes its move towards the disguised Pokémon. The bird turned and the cat pounces on the bird. Ditto reverted back in its real form and glares at the cat. Ditto transforms into a Granbull and roars at the cat. Scared out of its mind, the cat ran up the tree and shivering. Ditto reverted back to normal and crawled off. Rarity comes down stairs with so much orders to fill.
"Rarity, once again, you outshine yourself," Rarity said. She hears a meowing outside. "Opalescence?" She looked around and spots her cat up in the tree. "Opal! How in the world did you get up there? Don't worry, momma will get you down!" Unknown to her or to Opal, Paras was occupying the tree. The mushroom Pokémon heads for Opal and taps on her, making Opal jump off. The meowing of the cat scares Paras and runs off as Opal lands onto Rarity's face. "Opal, my face isn't for landing."
Right over to Smeargle, the painter Pokémon secrets a green fluid and began to paint the walls. Approaching the painter Pokémon is a white unicorn stallion wearing a monocle and a tuxedo. He has a blue mane, tail, and mustache. He has a cutie mark of three crowns. Accompanying him is a white unicorn mare with light pink with white streaks in her mane and tail. She has a fleur-de-lis cutie mark. The two ponies were at awe when they were witnessing Smeargle's paintings.
"I say, what talent," the stallion said. Smeargle turned to see its admires.
"Smeargle?" Smeargle asked. "Smeargle, Smeargle?"
"Perhaps you would like a career in painting?" The stallion asked.
"Smear?" Smeargle asked.
Back in Subcon, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, and Luigi met up with Verity and Sorrel after they gave the 8-Bit army.
"Sora, you're okay," Verity said.
"And we got two golden keys," Sora said, showing them the second key. "We got four more to go."
"And got four generals to deal with," Meowth said.
The group made their way to a huge waterfall. Now that there are four more golden keys to receive, but how will Sora and his friends fare against Wart's general? Find out with a new chapter.
