Episode 297: The Land of Subcon: The Final Assault!
After retrieving five out of six golden keys and defeating five of Wart's generals, there was only one more golden key to retrieve and one more general to defeat, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, Verity, Flash, and TImber all entered what definitely looked like Shy Guy territory since there were Shy Guy statues all around.
"I know they're called Shy Guys, but they don't seem to be shy about spreading their names around," Meowth said.
"I was thinking the same thing to be honest," Flash said.
"The sixth and final golden key is in the fort up ahead and we got to reach it if we wanna get to Wart's palace," Luigi said.
"And deal with the 8-Bit soldiers coming our way to try to stop us," Verity said.
"Ah, man, I was just thinking of those guys," Timber said.
"We should be on our toes, becuase Wart's goons aren't going to make it easy for us They'll throw everything they have right at us, and we'll have to do the same thing if we're going to make it back to the Mushroom Kingdom and save the princess," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"Sora's right. We came-a so far since we got here and promised to save-a the Subcon Fairies. And be back before they know what will hit 'em," Mario said.
"That's the way, big bro," Luigi praised his brother.
"Then, let's get the show on the road," Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Let's-a go!" Mario said.
The group started to make their way through the Shy Guy's territory to get to General Guy's fortress. As they were walking they heard a sound. They went to the commotion to witness some Shy Guys watching what looks like a Roman gladiator battle. There was a mouse with a scar over his right eye and he was holding a small spork and twirls it around.
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!" The Shy Guys all chanted. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, Verity, Flash, and TImber had shown up and witnessed the battle about to begin.
"Unleash the beasts!" One of the Shy Guys said. Another Shy Guy opened a gate as several cats, weasels, lizards, spiders, scorpions, snakes, and snapping turtles ready to devour him. The Shy Guys all chanted kill over and over again. The mouse smacks a lizard coming at as a cat attempted to pounce only to do the same. A few weasels went for the mouse, only to be greeted with a poke in the gut. A spider jumps at the mouse, but kicks it off. A snapping turtle attempts to take a bite of the mouse, only to have its jaws snapped, killing it. A scorpion tries to sting the mouse, but ends up getting the stinger cut off and used to stab the attacking cats, lizards, snakes, and weasels. A large tarantula attempts to sink its fangs into the mouse, only to get stabbed with the amputated stinger. The scorpion with the missing stinger tries to get it back, but ends up getting stabbed with its own stinger.
"Fluttershy would hate seeing this," Timber said.
"You're right. This would traumatize her," Timber said. The mouse has bested many of the opponents. The mouse lets out a victorious battle cry. Meowth grabs the mouse by the tail.
"Unhand me, cat!" The mouse demanded.
"Hey, how did you learn all that fighting?" Meowth asked. The mouse jabs Meowth with his spork. "Ouch! Hey!" Meowth dropped the mouse and he jabs Meowth with the spork. "Yeow!"
"Meowth! Get back here!" Sora called out. The Shy Guys sees the group.
"It's them!" One Shy Guy said.
"Get them, lads!" Another Shy Guy said, in an Irish accent. He wore a leprechaun outfit. The Shy Guys launched their attack. "Get the invaders!"
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu shocks some of the Shy Guys while others were coming at the rest. Mario and Luigi bats them off with their hammers as Flash and Timber threw some vegetables at them.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fires Swift at the Shy Guys, making them flee for their lives. Kairi went over to Meowth with concern. "Are you okay, Meowth?"
"Yeah, my pride is just hurt. Being beaten by Pikachu is one thing, but a mouse that just killed a whole bunch of cats, weasels and other mouse-eaters besting you is too much," Meowth said.
"Now, thanks to you, they know we're here. They're going to pop out at any moment," Sorrel said.
"Right," the rest of the group said.
Over to General Guy, they were preparing for battle against Sora and his friends when a light blue Shy Guy came to report to the Shy Shy general.
"General Guy, sir! We just got word that the invaders are in our territory and they have eluded capture again!" The light blue Shy Guy reported.
"So, they've come! Prepare the tanks and open fire on the invaders! Use whatever force necessary, just see to it that they're captured at all costs!" General Guy ordered.
"Yes sir!" The light blue Shy Guy said, heading out.
"The rest of you, keep working on the tanks! I want them ready just in case the enemy makes it this far!" General Guy ordered. "Work faster! I won't tolerate any slacking off!"
"Yes sir!" The other Shy Guys said.
Back in Pallet Town, Riku sat in the living room of the Ketchum house along with his partner. He was still finding hard to believe that Sora and Kairi had a role in inter dimesional experiences other than in Uktra Space when Team Rocket attempted to enter Ultra Space, oblivious to the dangers they would have brought to the world. Riku also found it hard to believe that someone from another dimension would willingly work with Giovanni before he was driven insane for unknown reasons.
"Sora, Kairi. Get back soon," Riku said, looking out the window.
Speaking of Giovanni, he sat in his cell alone. He was tied in a straight jacket as he sat in a corner. He had recovered from the effects of the seven Choas Emeralds. But the madness was in his thoughts as he remembered the madness as well as he had succeeded his mother. Just then, a guard came to his cell.
"Giovanni, you got a visitor," the guard said. Walking behind the guard was his son Silver whom he had seen him since resigning as Gym Leader of the Viridian City Gym. "When you're ready to go, just give the word."
"I will," Silver said. Giovanni looked at his could tell there was a sudden change in him. He was surprised to see him again. "Hello, father. It has been a long time. But not long enough for my liking."
"Silver, of all people in the world, you were the least person I have ever expected to see in here," Giovanni said.
"The feeling is more than mutual, father. I didn't come here just to say hello to you. The reason that I came here is just so I could see it for myself. And it looks like I am not disappointed," Silver said. "The boss of Team Rocket, finally locked away forever. You failed to live up to your mother's expectations by getting arrested after being defeated by the Pokémon League Champion who had won the Hoenn Pokémon League tournament just not too long ago."
"Aren't you going to tell me how pathetic I am? Call me weak just like you did when you ran out on me?" Giovanni asked.
"I am not that person anymore, father. Because I see the error of my old ways. All it took is a trainer named Lance to make me open my eyes and a trainer named Ethan to help out during the Johto Pokémon League," Silver said. This surprised Giovanni greatly. He could tell that he had really changed.
"It seems that you have become an entirely different person since we parted ways," Giovanni said.
"And I owe all that to you, father. If we haven't parted ways that day, then I wouldn't be the person I am today. Because of that I am a much kinder trainer than I used to be when I got my first Pokémon. I have trained with Dragon Masters to purify my soul and purge myself for my quest for power. I left to visit my mother. She was sad that I would have ended up like you, but it turned to the exact opposite. Despite your cruelty and your desires to rule the world, she still loved you, but all that love meant nothing to you. But she could never forgive you. The truth is, I was close to being like you when I should have realized that I am not you, and I will never be you. My mother has forgiven me for my wrongs," Silver said.
"Why have you really come here? Merely you didn't come to see your own father chained like a beast in a cage," Giovanni said.
"To let you know how I felt. Although I hate you for how you placed Team Rocket before your own family, but I loved you as a father, and I still do. No matter what, you will always will be my father," Silver said. Giovanni could only smile that his son's love for him as a father is unconditional. Giovanni said nothing more and looked away. "I have done what I came here to do, so I will go now. Goodbye, father." Silver took his leave as Giovanni watched his son walk out the door.
"Silver, just how is it that I couldn't say that I love you too. A father's love is unconditional. My regret now is knowing that I may never see what kind of man you will become. Keep going down the right path, son. Don't be the kind of man that I turned myself into," Giovanni said in his thoughts.
Back in Subcon, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi," Sorrel, Verity, Flash, and Timber they made their way towards a Shy Guy camp. The group knew they were out to look for them. They snuck in to look around. They split up just not to draw attention to one another. Flash went with Sorrel and Verity as Timber went with Mario and Luigi.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth snuck pass the tents as a couple of Shy Guys were drinking some wine from the mouth of the mask. The couple ducked their heads down when one Shy Guy was looking their way.
"That was close," Kairi said.
"We just gotta make it through to outside the camp," Sora said. Sora saw two Shy Guy cloaks and masks hanging on a line. "Maybe in plain sight." Kairi was getting worried by that statement.
"Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Trust me," Sora said. He grabbed the cloaks and masks and handed one to Kairi. He places the cloak on.
"Is this what you mean by plain sight?" Kairi asked her boyfriend.
"It's the only way we can sneak around without being getting caught. I just hope the guys had the same ideas as us," Sora said. He looked to Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth. "You three should keep sneaking around."
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"How come you can go out dressed like that and I can't in my birthday suit?" Meowth asked.
"Because there were only two for us, and those can't fit, also you'll give us away just like when you rolled with Team Rocket," Sora said.
"Point taken," Meowth said.
"Now, you three vamoose before any of those Shy Guys sees you," Sora said.
Not needing to be told twice, the Pokémon left the couple to sneak around. Sora and Kairi placed the Shy Guy masks on and they walked out in the open. They felt like real Shy Guys when they were mingling with them. They saw a Shy Guy eating a drumstick and wondered how they were able to eat anything without taking off their masks. A black Shy Guy turned to the couple in disguise, unaware it was them.
"Hey, you two!" The black Shy Guy called out to them. The couple turned to the black Shy Guy. "Why aren't you working on the tanks?"
"T-T-Tanks?" Sora asked.
"The tanks you were supposed to be working on! Those are General Guy's orders!Now, get to work on them or else you'll be peeling some potatoes," the Black Shy Guy said. Sora and Kairi did a salute and smacks him on the forehead. "Ouch! You why!" The couple ran in the opposite direction. "The tanks are the other way you idiots!" The disguised couple turned the other way. "Where did we get such stupid soldiers?"
"I can't believe we fooled him," Sora said.
"Me neither. But we're even further from the exit," Kairi said.
"Hey you two! No talking and get over here!" Another Shy Guy shouted. The couple headed for the tools and went to the tanks. The tanks heads of Birdos in the front and all made of iron. "See that these tanks gets the best care and no screw ups!" The black Shy Guy took his leave. They would come back at any moment and get caught without their disguises, so they had to get started. To cover their tracks, they have to seem like they're incompetent Shy Guys. They were sabotaging their efforts of hunting them down.
Over to Sorrel, Verity, and Flash snuck through the camp as several Shy Guys were carrying some crates filled with bombs.
"Don't drop any one of those crates, because we need them to blast those invaders," one Shy Guy said.
"It took us all morning to round up these Bomb Plants and keep them from lighting," another Shy Guy said.
"Yeah, about that. How did you keep these Bomb Plants from lighting up? Because they do that as soon as you pick them," the first Shy Guy said.
"You just gotta handle them the right way. We'll load them in the tanks and be on our way to hunt for them," the second Shy Guy said.
"Maybe we can hijack one of those tanks and make it to the fortress," Sorrel said.
"The question is how without getting caught," Flash said.
"I'm with him. Any ideas?" Verity asked.
"We'll just follow them and see where they go," Sorrel said.
Mario, Luigi, and Timber snucked behind a tent where a gray Shy Guy came out with a yawn.
"What a nap," the gray Shy Guy said. They snuck pass him, using it as a cover to move.
Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth kept moving through the camp. They stopped when some Shy Guys were passing by with some spears. They moved forward as soon as they were out of sight. Meowth caught a whiff of something cooking.
"What's that smell? Whatever it is, it smells delicious," Meowth said. He turned to see that it was some soup cooking in a huge crockpot. "Ooh, I'm so hungry! After eating nothing but those vegetables for days, I can eat just about anything else!" Pikachu grabbed the scratch cat Pokémon by the tail.
"No! Save kingdom first, eat later!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"Come on, Pikachu, just one taste of that tasty soup, please!" Meowth pleaded.
"No! We can't risk being seen! If they see you, they'll know we're sneaking around here and try to hunt is down!" - Pikachu subtitle. Pikachu held onto Meowth's tail, but Pikachu lost his grip as Mewoth ran towards the pot and started to wolf it down. Pikachu and Angel knew they were in deep trouble now.
"Ah, that's the stuff," Meowth said. He saw the Shy Guys all looking at him. Meowth realized that he had just given himself away and that he should have listened to Pikachu. "Uh-oh." Pikachu facepalmed.
"That idiot." - Pikachu subtitle.
"It's one of those things! Get it!" One of the Shy Guys ordered. They Shy Guys were starting to come after Meowth, but he ran to avoid them. Pikachu and Angel jumped in and fired Thunderbolt and Swift on the Shy Guys. They saved Meowth and ran off to be hidden, but now it got extremely hard to do because of Meowth.
"Thanks for the save, guys," Meowth said.
"We had to save your tail because you blew our cover, like Sora said. Now, sneaking around just gotten even harder thanks to you!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"I can't help it! I was hungry!" Meowth exclaimed.
"We'll have to find someplace to hide before those awful Shy Guys see us!" - Angel subtitle. Pikachu looked around and saw some jars.
"We can hide in those jars! They're the right size for us!" - Pikachu subtitle. The three Pokémon jumped in the jars. A squad of Shy Guys came by looking for them.
"We lost them!" One of the Shy Guys said.
"We'll keep looking. Those critters are here, then the others shouldn't be too far. Let's keep looking," another Shy Guy said. They took off. Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth stuck their heads of the jars.
"Move." - Pikchu subtitle. The three Pokémon snucked around the camp. Mario, Luigi, and Timber found the three Pokémon.
"Pikachu, Angel, Meowth. You're safe," Luigi said.
"Where are Sora and Kairi?" Mario asked.
"They disguised themselves as Shy Guys. Hoping that they don't get found out," Meowth said.
"Wish we thought of that," Timber said.
"And that's only the good news," Meowth said.
"And the bad news?" Mario, Luigi, and Timber asked.
"They may know that we're snooping around," Meowth said.
"They know we're here? Well, that's just great!" Timber groaned.
"We just gotta find the others and get out of here," Luigi said.
"And we better hurry and-a do it too," Mario said.
Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, and Timber sets off to search for Sora, Kairi, Sorrel, Verity, and Flash before they get found out.
Back to Sora and Kairi, they managed to sabotage one tank.
"That did the trick," Sora said.
"Now, we got loads more of tanks to ruin," Kairi said. Another Shy Guy came and ran up to the couple.
"We have trouble! The outsiders are here somewhere! We need all available Shy Guys to put a stop to this now!" The Shy Guy said.
"Right on it," Kairi said. The Shy Guy froze and looked right her.
"Hey, what's up with your voice?" The Shy Guy asked.
"My voice?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, your sounds like that of a girl's. Can you exlpain it?" The Shy Guy asked.
"Um, uh, well, you see," Kairi stammered. Sora stepped in.
"This Shy Guy has a bad cold. This cold is so bad, it makes us sound like we have a girl's voice," Sora fibbed. Kairi played along by pretending to cough.
"Well, cold or not, get down there and help with the search! We're searching every tent for them. We suspect that they're hiding in one of them!" The Shy Guy said.
"On it!" Sora and Kairi said. The Shy took his leave of the couple.
"Something's fishy here. I just know it. Better keep my eye on those two just to be sure," the Shy Guy said. Sora and Kairi joined in the search for the others, unaware that two of them are two they're looking for.
"So much for the sabotaging plan," Kairi whispered to her boyfriend.
"We're in the clear just as long we keep it cool and keep our masks on," Sora whispered back. The couple searched around for any clues for any signs of their friends. Sorrel, Verity, and Flash saw that they were on to them.
"They must have figured out that we're here in their camp," Flash said.
"We gotta keep moving to avoid getting caught," Verity said.
"Move on three. One, two, three!" Sorrel yelled as Sorrel, Verity, and Flash ran. The Shy Guys spotted them.
"There they are! The invaders are here!" One of the Shy Guys shouted.
"After them!" Another Shy Guy shouted.
"Lucario! Go!" Sorrel called out as Lucario has come out to battle the Shy Guys. The Shy Guys attempted to nab the blue Pokémon, but they were no match for it. Lucario fought off the many Shy Guys.
Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, and Timber were spotted as well and they fought their way through the hoarde of Shy Guys.
"Coming through!" Meowth shouted. "Out of our way!"
"Don't let them get away!" Another Shy Guy yelled.
They plowed right through the attacking Shy Guys swinging their hammers and sticks at the Shy Guys. Sora and Kairi ended up in their path. Mario and Luigi tackled the couple to the ground.
"You're not gettting in our way, Shy Guys!" Luigi shouted.
"Mario, Luigi, it's us!" Sora said. Mario took the mask off as Sora grinned nervously. Luigi did the same thing and sees Kairi.
"You should have been careful since we were told you were disguised as a couple of them," Luigi said.
"It-a was hard-a to tell who was who," Mario said.
"Any idea on where the tanks are?" Timber asked.
"Right this way," Sora said.
The couple led their friends through the camp. They fought their way through the Shy Guy camp, fighting them to get them out of the way.
"Here they are," Kairi said.
"Good work, you two!" Luigi said.
"Now, we just gotta use one and get moving towards the fortress!" Timber said.
"It's gotta be big enough to fit all of us in," Luigi said.
"We gotta choose one," Meowth said. He looked around for one. He looked at the one Sora and Kairi were messing up and headed right for it. "That one! That one! That one!" Meowth ran for the tank.
"No, not that one!" Sora tried to warn the scratch cat Pokémon. It was too late, because Meowth got inside and tried to work it. The sound of an engine is heard, but it's not moving. Meowth came out.
"Hey, this one is no good," Meowth said.
"I was trying to tell you that it's not working because Kairi and I sabotaged it," Sora said.
"You couldn't let me know faster?" Meowth asked. Pikachu rolled his eyes at how foolish Meowth was at the moment. Pikachu's ears perked up.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Someone's coming!" Kairi gasped.
"Be-a ready!" Mario said.
Everyone was getting ready to strike when they saw Sorrel, Verity, and Flash coming right towards them. Everyone all dropped their guard.
"It's only you guys," Sora said with relief.
"Is that a bad thing?" Sorrel asked.
"If you were Shy Guys, then it would be," Meowth said.
"We should head for one of those tanks to escape," Sora said. He points to one. "That one!"
"How do we know it'll work?" Meowth asked.
"'Cause Kairi and I didn't touch the other ones. Now, let's get inside!" Sora said. Everyone all went into the tank. Mario and Luigi ended up driving as Meowth looked through the periscope. The Shy Guys were after them.
"They're stealing one of our tanks!" One of the Shy Guys exclaimed.
"Don't let them get away!" Another Shy Guy shouted. The Shy Guys hopped on their Ostros to pursue them. Meowth looked through the periscope and sees them.
"They're right on our tails!" Meowth exclaimed.
"Don't those guys ever quit?" Verity asked.
"I don't they do," Kairi said.
"We should fight back," Luigi suggested.
"How?" Flash asked.
"I know how," Sora said, taking out his Pokémon Box. He exchanged Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Primeape, Hariyama, and Passimian for Toucannon, Swellow, Noctowl, Skarmory, and Cramorant. Sora opened the tank and let out his five bird Pokémon to attack. Kairi took out her Pokémon Box and she exchanged Elekid, Magby, Elekid, Smoochum, Machop, and Tyrogue for Togetic, Altaria, Oricorio, Skiploom, and Masquerain. The bird and other Flying Type Pokémon attacked the Shy Guys. The bird Pokémon were pecking at them as Skiploom was ramming at the. and Masquerain scared them with the eyeball markings in her wings, making the Shy Guys fall off. "Ha-ha!"
"It's true what they: birds of a feather, flap together!" Meowth said.
"Good one, Meowth!" Flash said. The Pokémon flew along with them. Just then, Skiploom started to evolve. Skiploom had evolved into a pink Jumpluff with lavender cotton puffs.
They continued to ride in the tank to keep on the lookout for the Shy Guy armada. Meowth kept an eye out for the enemy, but no signs of them were anywhere.
"I think we gave them the slip," Meowth said.
"We shouldn't get too comfy yet because they're going to come after us when they get behind the wheel on their tanks too," Luigi said.
"Luigi's right, because the Shy Guys back at camp will be looking for us. And they're others at the fortress that'll be waiting for us as soon as we get there," Sorrel said.
"Maybe that's what we want them to do. But with even more surprises coming at them," Sora said. The tank arrived just in range of the Shy Guy fortress with Shy Guys patrolling the grounds. Everyone knew they'd be toast if they make a careless move to enter. Sora and Kairi calls back their other Pokémon and exchanged them for Dragonite, Gengar, Aerodactyl, Tyranitar, Gallade, Raichu, Gardevoir, Bewear, Miltank, and Flaaffy. They spent a few minutes planning their attack on the fortress. Everyone got into position for battle. "Is everybody all set?"
"Set!" Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, and Verity said.
"Set!" Kairi, Flash, Timber, and Meowth said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"It's showtime," Sora said.
The Shy Guys were patrolling the grounds when they heard a loud roar. This startled the Shy Guys.
"What was that?!" One of the Shy Guys exclaimed. He got his answer when Aerodactyl came swooping down at them. They all duck their heads and Aerodactyl went back into the air. "Where did that pterodactyl come from?!" Dragonite came flying in and smacks them with his tail. Gengar emerged from the shadows and scares the Shy Guys out of their wits. Tyranitar came and fired Dark Pulse at the enemy Shy Guys, making them scatter. Bewear joins in by giving them a series of punches and kicks, followed by Focus Blast.
Using the Shy Guy's distraction, the group started to head for the fortress. Gallade and Gardevoir used their Psychic to send the Shy Guys out of the way as Pikachu and Raichu shocks them with Thunderbolt. Flaaffy used her Electro Web and Signal Beam to trap and zap them. Flaaffy then started to evolve much to everyone's surprise. Kairi's newly evolved Flaaffy is now an Ampharos. Kairi's new Ampharos is now purple and the bulbs on her forehead and tail are dark blue.
"Flaaffy is now an Ampharos!" Kairi cheered.
"Pharos!" The newly evolved Ampharos said. A swarm of Shy Guys came rushing in.
"Ampharos! Thunder Punch!" Kairi ordered. Ampharos's fist emits electricity and lands a hit onto the Shy Guys. "Now use Dragon Pulse!" Ampharos launched Dragon Pulse and it sends them on against the wall.
"Gallade! Use Close Combat!" Sora ordered. Gallade gets close to one of the Shy Guys and pelts him like crazy. With one last hit, the Shy Guy goes flying in the air. "Now, let's keep moving!"
"Stay right there!" General Guy said as he and some of his remaining forces has shown up before them. "I knew it was a matter of time before you were gonna come marching in here sooner or later. And that ruckus outside, is a pretty sneaky maneuver on your part, but not good enough."
"If you're trying to get us to surrender, you're going to be disappointed that it's not gonna work that easily," Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel agreed.
"Then we'll have to take you down by force! Prepare to lose the war!" General Guy said. He turned to his remaining forces. "CHARGE!" The Shy Guys all charges right at the group.
"Attack!" Sora declared. The group fought hard against the swaming Shy Guys. Some of them stood on stilts as others have stacked on top of each other. Gallade and Gardevoir made quick work of the Shy Guys and Pikachu, and Angel did an Electro Ball and Swift combo. Ampharos lets them have it with an Electro Web. Piplup and Lucario makes quick work of the Shy Guys as Sorrel and Verity threw blocks at them. Sora comes across a large box that has the word "POW" on the front and back, between two blue bars on the top and bottom. Sora picked it up, despite how heavy it is. Sora threw it right at them. The Shy Guys all gasped as they all knew what it was.
"Not a Pow Block!" One of the Shy Guys gasped. When it made contact with the ground, the whole fortress shakes and all of the Shy Guys go flying in the air. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, Verity, Flash, Timber and the Pokémon do the same.
"Whoa!" Everyone all exclaimed. The Shy Guys all started to run.
"Retreat!" Another Shy Guy shouted.
"No retreat! No retreat! What are you afraid of?! Get back and fight, you cowards!" General Guy ordered. He grabbed a Shy Guy trying to run and throws him back. He gets trampled by some more of the retreating soldiers. "Come back, you cowards! I didn't order a retreat! I order you to come back at once!"
"Face it, General! You lost!" Sora taunted.
"No! A soldier never accepts surrender as an option! I'll crush you all even if I have to do it myself!" General Guy shouted. He charges at the group, only for Sora to trip him. He tumbles and slams against the wall. Sora, Kairi, and the Mario Brothers stands right in front of the fallen general. General Guy stood up and ran off.
"We won!" Mario said.
"Now, we'll just have to wait for that last golden key," Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu pointed to Sora's right. Sora turned to see the key coming towards them. Sora takes the final golden key in his hands.
"And this makes six!" Sora said.
"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Now, we can make it up to Wart's palace and head back to the Mushroom Kingdom, after we give Wart a deserved crowning," Kairi said. Wart was watching from his crystal ball and he growled in absolute anger.
"So, all six of my generals has failed! How could that be?! It looks like I'll have to take matters into my own hands! I'll have them come right to me!" Wart said, laughing.
Now with six golden keys handy, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, Verity, Flash, and Timber wondered where the keyholes were to place them.
"Any ideas on how we're going to put these?" Verity asked.
"We all six keys, so there should be a way to get there, now," Flash said.
Just when they were aboout to search for a way, the six keys all levitate into the air and they swirl around. Six keyholes appears in the sky, glowing in a golden light. The keys inserted themselves into the keyholes and unlocked them all. Then, the keys all vanished into fragments of light and a way up to the sky opens. The light takes the group as they pull them up and they finally reached Wart's palace.
"Does that answer your question, Flash?" Sora asked.
"It kinda does," Flash said.
"Now take care of business inside of Wart's palace," Sora said.
"Yeah!" Kairi, Meowth, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, Verity, Flash, and Timber all said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
The group headed for Wart's palace. Sora and Kairi took out their Pokémon Boxes and exchanged Dragonite, Gengar, Tyranitar, Aerodactyl, Gallade, Gardevoir, Ampharos, Raichu, Bewear, and Miltank for Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Slaking, both Farfetch'd, Plusle, Minun, Bellossom, Victreebel, and Cloyster. They reached the palace gates. Sora knocks on the gates.
"Hello, anybody home?" Sora asked.
"Who goes there?" A guard asked from the other side.
"Pizza delivery for the king!" Sora said. THe guard turns out to be a Ninji opening the gate.
"The king doesn't order no pizza!" The Ninji said with Sora and Flash grabbing him. "Aah!" Sorrel and Meowth ties him up. They rush in the castle. A Snifit standing guard sees them coming into the castle.
"It's them! It's the outsiders! I must inform the king!" The Snifit exclaimed as he rushed in the castle. The Snifit ran into the throne room. "Your majesty, the outisders have entered the palace grounds and they're heading inside as we speak!"
"Sound the alarms! We must call for a frontal assault! Move, move, move!" Wart demanded.
"At once!" The Snifit said. He ran out the throne room. "Sound the alarms! The outsiders have entred the palace! Shy Guys, Snifits, anyone! Attack!" The 8-Bits all grabbed their weapons to attack them. The group walk further in the castle to be greeted by a horde of attacking Shy Guys, Snifits, and Ninjis. Sora, Kairi, Sorrel, and Verity took out their Pokéballs and tossed them. Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Slaking, both Farfetch'd, Plusle, Minun, Bellosom, Victreebel, Cloyster, Piplup, and Lucario were let out. Nidoking and Nidoqueen gave them a Drill Run. The two drill Pokémon fought them like they were in a ballet. The Kantonian Farfetch'd gave several Ninjis a swing with his leek as the Galarian Farfetch'd slams his big leek on the ground, making the Snifits go flying. Bellossom gave them a Petal Dance and Razor Leaf combo. Verity was awed by how it looked. Slaking used Power-Up Punch as Victreebel used Leaf Blade. Cloyster froze them with Ice Beam and Plusle and Minun gave them a Thunderbolt shock. Flash and Timber fought on with some blunt weapons they found in the Shy Guy camp and the Mario Brothers whacked them with their hammers.
"They're so strong!" One of the Ninjis said.
"Don't let up! We must drive them out!" A Snifit said. The other Snifits agreed and the Galarian Farfetch'd gave them a another swing with Night Slash. The Snifits went flying in the air. The group stormed the palace, dealing with the enemies coming at them.
"At least, one of them knows where's the throne room is, so don't knock all of them out!" Sora said.
"Not a problem, Sora," Mario said.
The fight continued on until one Ninji is left. The group and the Pokémon surround the lone Ninji.
"Only gonna ask you once. Where's Wart's throne room?" Sora asked. The Ninji points to the left.
"Down that hall, just keep going straight," the Ninji said.
"Was that so hard? Now, get out of here!" Sora said. The Ninji ran off. The group started to make their way to the throne room. They went straight down to the hall and they were met with two large doors. Nidoking and Nidoqueen pulls the doors open and the group entered the throne room with Wart with some sort of machine, waiting for them. "Wart, I presume?"
"So, you've come. You lot have been such a bother for me from day 1," Wart said.
"We have act for getting under the skins of bad guys," Sora said.
"Now, you're going to give Subcon back to the Subcon Fairies after you stole it from them!" Kairi said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Vee!" Angel agreed.
"You can save it for someone who actually cares, because I am the king here! Those stupid fairies should have accept my rule like the others have! But they kept spreading hope everywhere they went," Wart snarled.
"They were right to refuse because you're a bully!" Verity said.
"And you're a thief!" Kairi said.
"I met some pretty crooked crooks in my day, but you're one of the most crooked!" Meowth said.
"Say what you will, but nothing you do will change it! And I will see to that! For the crimes of trespassing of in my kingdom, I find you all guilty! And I sentence you to oblivion!" Wart said. The tyrannical frog fires bubbles at the group, making them scatter. He growls. "How dare you dodge me!" Wart activates a remote control for his machine and they fire fireballs, making them sprinkle down. Victreebel and Bellossom dodge the fireballs out of their fear weakness to fire. Clyster fires Hydro Pump to dose the fire as Slaking rolls to avoid the flames. Meowth sees the remote in the evil froggy king's hands and went for it. Meowth grabs the remote.
"I'll take that," Meowth said.
"Get your paws off, you filthy cat!" Wart hissed. "I order you to let go!"
"Try to make me, bug-breath!" Meowth said. Meowth pulled hard, not knowing that the fireballs on the dail switched to vegetables. Meowth and Wart broke the remote control to the machine, making it go haywire.
"Look what you done! You broke it!" Wart yelled. A bunch of vegetables starts popping out of the machine much to Wart's dismay.
"Not vegetables! I hate vegetables!" Wart hissed.
"You should eat some, because they're good for you!" Meowth said, throwing an onion in his mouth, making him gag. The rest of the group were caught off guard because of the vegetables popping out.
"No more fireballs?" Sora asked.
"Help!" Meowth pleaded. Sora sees Meowth being chased by Wart.
"Meowth!" Sora exclaimed. Sora grabbed a piece of garlic and ran to save Meowth. "Hold on, Meowth, I'm coming!" Sora reached Meowth and threw the garlic in his mouth. Wart gags again.
"YUCK! Garlic!" Wart gagged.
"You okay, Meowth?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, thanks to you, Sora. This toad hates veggies and he chokes up when he eats one!" Meowth said.
"So, that's his weakness," Sora said. Sora grabs a beet. "Hey, Wart." Wart turned to him and he flinched at the sight of him holding the beet. "You hungry?"
"Keep that disgusting thing away from me!" Wart said, waving his hands. Sora threw the red vegetable at the frog, making him run.
"Guys! Wart hates veggies! Everyone grab one and aim for his mouth!" Sora said. Kaiir, Pikachu, Angel, Sorrel, Verity, Mario, Luigi, Flash, Timber, and the other Pokémon grabs the veggies and hurled them at the evil king. Wart runs to get away from them. Nidoking gave Victreebel a hurl as Nidoqueen did the same for Bellossom. They threw a turnip and a radish at the frog's mouth, making him gag again. Sora and Meowth threw a some more vegetables at him and lands some successful landings on Wart, making him gag. "Oh, come on, Wart, they're only healthy and nutritious vegetables. They're good for you!"
"No! Keep those revolting plants out of my mouth!" Wart said. They kept pelting him with vegetables. Wart tried to use his bubbles on them, but there were too much veggies coming at him and he was overpowered by the vegetables and buried beneath them. Just then, something unexpected happened. Magic was sparkling everywhere. No one was sure what was going on. Just then, a Subcon Fairy appeared in the throne room. Several more started to show up.
"It's over!" One fairy said.
"Wart's spell is broken! We're free!" Another fairy said. The fairies all cheered for the group for their heroics. Just then, another fairy appears before the group. The Subcon Fairy had a king's crown on his head.
"Thank you all for all you've done. Because of you, we have our kingdom back," the Subcon Fairy King said.
"Think nothing of it, your majesty," Sora said.
"Now that Wart is defeated we can use our magic to send him away!" The Subcon Fairy King said. Wart wasn't happy to hear that since he regained consciousness.
"No! I worked hard to make it my kingdom! I won't let it end here!" Wart yelled.
"Your evil ends here, Wart! We banish you and those loyal to you out of Subcon forever!" The Subcon Fairy King proclaimed. The Subcon Fairies waved their magic wands and they cast a spell all around. Wart vanishes along with Mouser, Tryclyde, Tyrone, Fry Guy, Clawgrip, General Guy, and the rest of the 8-Bits from the land of Subcon, returning things to normal. Wart and his army ended up in another part of the Mushroom Kingdom. Wart growled in anger..
"No matter how many worlds I will have to search, Sora, I will find you and your meddlesome friends, and I will have my revenge!" Wart vowed.
A little while later, the Subcon King has begun a reward ceremony in honor of the heroes of Subcon.
The Subcon Fairy King announced, "Sora, Kairi, Mario, Luigi, Sorrel, Verity, Flash Sentry, Timber Spruce, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth, for your selflessness, your bravery, and valor, we indebted to you for giving us back our world. You restored peace and hope in our land. The story of our heroes will live on forever in our memories and into our children, and our children's children as time presses on. So, it is my honor and privilege to present you the Golden Cherry Medallions." The Subcon Fairy King presents them golden cherry-like medallions and gave their heroes one each.
"Thank you, your majesty," Sora said.
"We are-a glad to accept-a these medallions," Mario said.
"If there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask," the Subcon Fairy King offered.
"Well, if you could, we would like to head back to the Mushroom Kingdom since there is another who is in need," Sora said.
"Also, there are other worlds that will need our help," Kairi added.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
The Subcon Fairy smiled as he chuckled, "Of course. I will grant you this wish. I will say that you will be greatly missed and we hope to see you again someday." The Subcon Fairy King waved his magic wand and makes a portal back to the Mushroom Kingdom. "Go in peace, my friends." The group all enter through the portal and they wave goodbye to the fairies.
"Take care of yourselves!" Sora said. The portal closes between them. "Now, on to Bowser's castle!"
"Yeah!" Everyone agreed. Sora and Kairi took out their Pokémon Boxes and exchanged their five Pokémon for Charizard, Silvally, Mudsdale, Kabutops, Armaldo, Roserade, Spinda, Omastar, Raichu, and Cradily.
Now that Subcon is saved, the only thing left to do is to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser's castle. Find out how that goes in the next chapter.
