The night had been an uneasy one, but Shadowpaw wasn't satisfied. He could never return, so why not start building a life now? He stood up, blinking the sleep from his eyes. He'd fallen asleep outside, right? Then why were there wooden walls around him?

His eyes dilated and claws unsheathed. Snarling slightly, he turned. A cat came into focus, grey blue pelted with blue eyes like chips of ice. Her claws were also unsheathed, but she just flicked one lazily and rolled her eyes. "So, you wake up. Nice timing." Her tone was sweet and she smiled, but it wasn't kind.

The she-cat was lean, but not thin. Her fur was sleek and shiny, and her tail matched. Her tone was innocent, but pricked with something much more.

He immediately felt defensive, and she unnerved him when not much did. He hissed, glaring at her.

"If you were every going to actually talk, I guess you'd want to know my name," she smirked, flicking her tail. He met her stare evenly, her blue eyes penetrating his green ones, and found his voice, "Same to you."

"Fine," she said, "I'm Elixir. You're one of those Clan cats aren't you."

He narrowed his eyes. "The Clans are worthless traitors. I'm-" his mind raced for a name, then settled. "-Shadow."

Shadowpaw thought for a moment. This cat's manipulation and attitude was respectable, and someone he'd want to help with his revenge. "What do you think of the Clans," he asked roughly.

"Well, for one, they are pretty pathetic."

Shadowpaw smiled an infinitesimal bit. "How'd you like to help me prove that."

She held a casual smile too. "I'd take pleasure in it."

He began to walk out of the wooden structure, and flicked his tail for her to follow. After a moment, she took a place beside him, and they walked across a rolling moor, bordered by a forest on one side. They started in the opposite direction of the forest.

Shadowpaw finally felt fully confident. He thought to himself, carefully and with satisfaction. Maybe vengeance will come a bit quicker.
