Drabble 8: Incoherency

They haven't kissed in weeks. Haven't properly touched each other in months.

Tyson's starting to miss Kai as though they were in a long distance relationship.

But they are not.

They live together.

Everyone asks, "Why do you stay?"

And he doesn't have a real answer.

His days are starting to meld together.

Nights growing long and cold.

The bed stays empty beside him while he's awake.

When he leaves in the morning, Tyson doesn't know.

He has visions of himself turning into her. Her red dress. Her black nails. The ones he sees on Kai's arm. So very often.

He's his. But he's not.

He doesn't pay attention to him anymore.

When they're together, in the same room, it feels as though they are miles away.

Kai does not look up.

Tyson's heart is breaking to pieces. Little by little. Day by day.

And he cannot see.

That their love is dying.

He cannot see.

Because he doesn't want to see.
