Shadow entered the camp of Vengeance. His fur was still bristling from the overheard conversation. Alongside him, loyal as ever, Elixir strode in, her alluring blue eyes scanning the camp. Behind them, Russet, Talon, Jay, Slash, and Streak followed. Jay looked as sarcastic as ever, while Russet looked nearly as spiteful as Shadow. Talon, Streak, and Slash looked to Shadow for instructions, and after a moment, so did Jay and Russet.
Shadow looked over each of them with narrowed eyes. "You may return to your dens. Tell Blossom that she and Arrow are taking guard for tonight. You will need rest for what's to come."
They nodded in approval, while Shadow turned to Elixir. "You too. I'm going to have a quick word with Flame." With a flick of her tail, she vanished into one of the dens.
Shadow walked over to Flame, who had been guarding the camp while they were gone and the other cats had gone to sleep. "You can rest now, Blossom and Arrow will take your position."
Flame dipped his head, and headed off towards his den, while Blossom and Arrow emerged from theirs, resuming the position Flame had kept. Shadow turned to his own den. He would attack tomorrow after dusk, when RiverClan would be at it's weakest. With thought of the following day in mind, Shadow fell into an uneasy sleep.
He awoke in the morning to bright sunlight streaming in through the entrance to his den.
Standing up, he extended his tired muscles, flexing his claws, and stepped outside.
Cats were beginning to emerge from dens, and in Blossom and Arrow's case, returning to sleep for a short amount of time. Elixir jumped up beside him, her shiny fur sleek in the light. "Arrange a patrol for the BrookClan border," he muttered to her, to which she smiled silkily and jumped down from the ledge.
He also did so, snaking down the rocks and heading towards Jay, Frost, and Valley, cats he had taught personally. "You will be training Fox, Crow, and Tansy for today. I want you to review everything they've learned before about fighting today." Frost and Valley nodded, and Jay gave a mutter of assent.
Sending them to get the cats in question, Shadow turned back to the ledge, thinking about the three siblings. Fox, Crow, and Tansy were the children of Blossom and Arrow, and he planned on sending them into battle with their parents. The three, if they were in the Clan, would be about midway through apprenticeship, but they'd been training since they were three moons old. They'd be valuable allies, no one in the weak Clan would want to hurt apprentices. He sent out a few other groups of cats to prepare, before leaping onto the ledge. They were more powerful then the Clan could ever be. They were Vengeance. And they would decimate the Clan, once and for all.
