Episode 307: Revenge of the Black Arachnid
In the Johto region, the time was 5:00 AM; it took place in the Johto Maximum Security Prison, where it held the most notorious criminals in Johto history. Among the many prisoners are Alex and Boris for their Pokémon poaching. Also there are the three delinquents that attacked the Wobbufett village, the two bombers who tried to blow up a mountain to take Amberite, and also the marauders Sora, Kairi, the Alolan nine, Gladion, along with the twins Ciel and Celine had stopped before. And lastly, the Black Arachnid who had been in custody since his capture in Catallia City in an attempt to avenge his disgraced ancestor. Ever since he was captured, he had been obsessing over Sora and his Pikachu. When he learned that he came from Pallet Town in the Kanto region, he had been plotting his revenge on Sora and his Pokémon.
A prison riot erupts and he makes his escape during the chaos. The guards were able to subdue the anarchy going on in the prison walls. The Machoke and Machamp were able to pin them down as the Vileplume used Sleep Powder on them.
"That's taken care of," one of the guards said.
"Now, we just gotta get this guys rounded up and placed back in their cells," a second guard said.
"You do that. And make sure they all get there," the first guard said.
"Yes sir," the second guard said.
"What's going on?" The warden asked.
"Sir, there was a riot, but it has been successfully subdued," the first guard said.
"Good work. The last thing we need is to have prisoners causing a ruckus around here. Get all the prisoners back in their cells immediately," the warden ordered.
"Already on it, sir," the first guard said.
All of the prison guards got all of the rioting prisoners back in their cells, all except for the Black Arachnid. He escaped by hijacking a garbage man and stole his clothes. He tied the real garbage man and left him tied up and gagged, leaving only his boxers and undershirt. Once he was miles away from prison, he ditched his disguise and wore his jumpsuit, cap, and cape. He placed his mask back on. His Meowth came out of the shadows and jumped right into his trainer's arms.
"Meowth, my loyal friend. Words cannot express what joy I have in seeing you again," the Black Arachnid said.
"Meowth," the Meowth said.
"Have you made the arrangements like I asked?" The Black Arachnid asked.
"Meowth," the Meowth nodded.
"I knew I could count on you. You never let me down. Now, it's time to head for the Kanto region. The one place we're going to is Pallet Town. That is where we will have our revenge!" The Black Arachnid said. "That kid is going to pay for ruining my chance to avenge my ancestor. My robbery on Catallia Town's mayor was my moment in the sun, and then that was stolen by that kid and his Pikachu. Him and that accursed Pikachu will pay dearly for this! Revenge will be mine!"
"Meowth!" His Meowth agreed.
The Black Arachnid and his partner in crime began to make their way to Goldenrod City to catch the Magnet Train.
Back at the prison, the guards were doing a routine check on all the prisoners. Just when the guard reached the Black Arachnid's cell, he froze in shock.
"Oh shit! He's gone! The Black Arachnid has escaped!" The guard exclaimed. The guard went for the nearest alarm. The alarm goes off as the warden came out of his office.
"What is going on now?!" The warden exclaimed.
"The Black Arachnid has escaped!" The guard exclaimed.
"What?! Lock the whole place down! I want a manhunt on him! Turn every rock, shake every tree, break down some freaking doors, I don't care! Just find that son of a bitch and get throw his ass back in!" The warden commanded.
"On it, sir!" The guard said. Another guard came in with the garbage man in his underwear.
"Look what I found, sir," the second guard said.
"Sid? What the hell happened to you?" The warden asked.
"One of your prisoners grabbed me from behind and stole my uniform and then, tied me up and stole my truck!" The garbage man said.
"Crap. He's already outside these walls. We better call the international police for this one," the warden said.
Over to international police HQ, Looker had been looking into Giovanni's mysterious partners ever since he first heard about them. Not only that, but he had been hearing rumors of strange portals appearing and disappearing. The sound of a phone starts ringing. Looker answers it.
"Looker," Looker spoke.
"Looker, it's Jenny. Just got word that the new Black Arachnid had just escaped from prison earlier this morning. He has been on the loose for less than three hours," Officer Jenny spoke on the phone.
"He was locked in the most secured prison in Johto. How did he got out?" Looker asked.
"Apparently, he escaped during a prison riot. He assaulted a garbage man while on duty and then stole his uniform and truck. The vehicle was abandoned several hundred miles away from the prison," Officer Jenny explained.
"I'll look right into it. He won't go too far," Looker said, hanging up. "He won't go far enough from me. No matter where he runs, I'm going to be on him like stink on a Stunky," Looker said.
In Goldenrod City, the Black Arachnid and his Meowth had arrived in the train station in a disguise and boarded the Magnet Train. He grinned as he knew his revenge was within his grasp.
A few days later, word had spread all around as the Black Arachnid's escape had become well-known. In the mansion, Cuphead and Mugman were bored since the news was on and the one watching it was Shadow.
"Ugh, why do we have to watch the news?" Cuphead asked.
"It's pretty boring," Mugman said.
"We need to keep our eyes open for any signs of dimensional rifts opening up. There's a chance we're not the only ones getting into this," Shadow said.
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Cuphead deadpanned.
"I think I'm going to get some air," Mugman said, stepping out of the room. Cuphead and Shadow watched as the news anchor came on. A newswoman comes on. She has red hair and violet eyes, wearing a green suit.
"This is Scarlett O'Hara, bringing you our latest development. The Black Arachnid has escaped from the Johto Maximum Security Prison just three days ago and is still at-large," Scarlett said.
"Ugh, first some stories, then the weather, and then, Pokémon battles occurring, and now a crook on the loose. Whoop de doo," Cuphead said without so much enthusiasm.
"To those who do not know whom this Black Arachnid is, he is a notorious cat burglar who had committed robberies in Catallia Town until his crime wave was halted by a band of traveling Pokémon trainers. This Black Arachnid is descended from the Black Arachnid who had committed similar crimes over one hundred years ago until his capture," Scarlett said.
"Interesting," Shadow said.
"International police, detective Looker made this statement today," Scarlett said. The scene switches to Looker meeting with several reporters.
"Detective, do you think the Black Arachnid will carry out his crime spree?" One reporter asked.
"I cannot confirm that he is going to finish what he had began since his ancestor has started, nor I can deny the fact he is planning to commit crimes off the bat. Citizens, I implore you to call your local police if you happen to see him and notice anything suspicious," Looker said before we switch back to Scarlett.
"And there you have it," Scarlett said.
"Say, didn't Sora go to the Johto region?" Cuphead asked remembering being told of Sora and Kairi's travels.
"He did. Why?" Shadow asked.
"Just wondering," Cuphead said.
Over to Sora in his house, he had just finished breakfast and he was getting ready for his bath when he opened his door and saw Mimey inside the bathtub.
"Mime!" Mimey exclaimed, covering his chest. Sora quickly shut the door blushing.
"Sorry, didn't know you were in there!" Sora said embarrassed and then he realized that a Pokémon wouldn't have certain body parts like human beings would have. "Wait a minute, what am I embarrassed about?" Sora opened the door. "Mimey, why get all embarrassed about me walking in on you? What are you hiding?" Mimey conked Sora on the head with a bath brush, leaving a blazing bump on his head.
After getting out of the bath and still with a bump on the head, he placed a bag of ice on his head to take the swelling down.
"I'm sorry, honey. I should have told you that Mimey doesn't like people peeping on him when he's taking a bath," Delia apologized.
"Well, Mimey could have at least locked the door so it would have been avoided," Sora said.
"Well, maybe next time you'll knock before coming in, Sora," Delia said.
"If I wanna avoid getting knocked in the head again, I'll do exactly that," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Sora's Pikachu said.
On the train ride to Saffron City, the Black Arachnid rode on with the disguise on. Several Pokémon and trainers passed by him, not noticing him.
"It won't be long now," the Black Arachnid said.
"Meowth," his Meowth said.
Over in Saffron City, a dimensional rift opens and the Cooper Van drives on through.
"Where are we now?" Murray asked.
"I don't know, this city doesn't match my database," Bentley said.
"That's never stopped you before and it's not going to stop you now, Bentley," Sly said.
"You're right, Sly. I'm going to try to hac my way into the database in this world jst so we can see where we are," Bentley said. The turtle does his thing as Murray took a bite of a meatball sandwich while driving. "There! It says we're a town called Saffron City."
"Okay, so which country are we in?" Sly asked.
"Not any I am familiar with, Sly. This place doesn't exist in my files. Our best course of action is to drive on through the city," Bentley said. The Cooper Gang looked around to their surroundings and saw it was really different from their world. Not a single animal was among them. The Pokémon were really new to them, that's for sure. Bentley did some digging in the world's history and saw there was a criminal organization known as Team Rocket, but they're no longer active. "This is interesting," Bentley said
"What?" Sly asked.
"According to the new information on my database, there was a criminal organization calling itself Team Rocket that used to be the biggest crime gang in this region until it was brought down from the inside," Bentley said.
"Brought down? How?" Sly asked.
"I'm not sure if I understand, but apparently they were cooking up something huge, but then a band of trainers marched down to their secret base and abolished them for good. Not exactly sure what they're training," Bentley said.
"At least there's still crime here. But how do you think we'll find some action?" Sly asked.
"We could go and head for a nearby town and work our way there," Bentley said.
"Just wonder if there's a pizza parlor there, I could use some deep-dish crust with extra cheese," Murray said.
"We'll see of we can find one, Murray," Bentley said. "In the meantime, we can keep our eyes open for some crimes while we're here."
Over in Paris, Carmelita Fox was searching for any signs of Bubble Crab since the attack on Interpol, but so far, she's found nothing. She was also searching for Sly and his gang.
"Cooper, where can you be? I haven't heard a thing from you since that crab showed up. If your'e in on this, I won't hesitate to bring you in," Carmelita said as a dimensional rift opens up and she goes right through it. She ends up in Sora's earth right outside of Pallet Town. "What was that? And where am I? Wherever I am, I'm sure Cooper will show up sooner or later. In the meantime, I'll have to stake this place out." The inspector goes right through the town and notices something was off. She saw there weren't any anthromorphic animals around. "What is with this place?"
Carmelita realized she would stick out like a sore thumb, so she had to find somplace where she wasn't going to attract attention. She spotted Amy and Roll were walking down the street of Pallet Town.
"Thanks for the help, Amy. I got such a nice feast planned for tonight," Roll said.
"Anytime, Roll. I just hope Sonic will like the romantic dinner I have for him. I plan on using a special recipe of those chilli dogs for him," Amy said.
"Sonic sure loves his chilli dogs," Roll said. "I'm sure Sonic will be back just in time for that."
"Oh, I have made them extra special. I made them just how he likes them," Amy said. She started to daydream about her dream dinner with Sonic as they had a romantic dinner for two. Sonic wore a black tuxedo and Amy wore a red ballroom dress. The fantasy switches over to the two of them having a slow dance under the moonlight. The two hedgehogs were about to have a kiss when Roll snapped her back to reality.
"Amy, we need to get back before the ice cream melts," Roll said.
"Uh, yeah," Amy said.
Amy and Roll carry on to the mansion. Carmelita was curious and suspicious about them, so she followed them to the mansion. Carmelita hid by a tree.
"Could they be criminals here? Only one way to be certain," Carmelita said, sneaking around the back. She saw Hunter practicing his shots with his longbow. The target was a dummy of Knight Man while Agent 9 fired at the dummies of Search Man, Star Man, and Gravity Man. She snuck pass them to see if there were more like them. Once she was inside, she silently observed them. Spyro was sitting with Banjo and Kazooie while eating some sandwiches.
"So, what's the deal between you and Elora?" Kazooie asked.
"Uh, what do you mean?" Spyro asked.
"You know what I mean, Spyro. The thing between you and Elora. I've seen the way you looked at each other," Kazooie said.
"Aw, come on, Kazooie, give the dragon a break. Besides, I'm sure there's a reason Spyro hasn't told her yet," Banjo said.
"Yeah, you could say that," Spyro said.
"See? I told you. The dragon has a thing for the deer girl," Kazooie said.
"She's a faun, Kazooie," Spyro said.
"I thought she was an elk," Banjo said.
"I asked her if she was some of goat and she said that she's a faun and called me a dork," Spyro said, laughing. The bear and bird both laughed as well.
Carmelita snuck around when she saw several more others. Omega was getting a routine inspection from Tails.
"Okay, Omega, you're good to go. You ready to give your new virtual map a try?" Tails asked.
"Affirmative. Initiating virual map now," Omega said. The map of Sora's world has displayed in a hologram he had displayed. "Simulation complete. Deactiving virtual map now." Omega stood up and his sensors starts going off. "Warning! Warning! Intruder detected!"
"Uh-oh," Carmelita said.
"Engage capture!" Omega said, going after Carmelita. Tails saw her come out of hiding. Carmelita ran to avoid the red robot. Team Choatix, Pit, Diddy, and Crash were playing some electric guitars with Flash when Carmelita plowed right through them.
"Hey! What's that all about?" Charmy asked.
"Capture intruder! Capture intruder! Capture intruder!" Omega computed. The robot chased after the police fox as she tried to lose him. Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Link, and the rest hears the commotion going on.
"What's up with Omega?" Link asked.
"He says there's an intruder in the mansion! Get her!" Tails said. Carmelita attempted to make a getaway through the door when she has stopped in her tracks.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Carmelita asked.
"I'm going on here," Silver said, using his telepathic powers.
"Let me go!" Carmelita exclaimed. Silver brought her down and tied her up on a chair. It didn't take long until everyone all gathered around. Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, Max, the Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth came to see what the fuss was all about.
"What's going on here?" Sora asked.
"We caught her sneaking around the mansion. We think she might be a spy sent by the Bortherhood of Darkness to dig some dirt on us!" Chunky Kong said.
"You can't do this to me! I'll have you all behind bars for assaulting an officer of the law!" Carmelita said. Vector looked at the police badge around her neck to confirm she is a cop.
"Sunset, why don't you have a look in her mind to see if she's telling the truth," Vector suggested.
"On it," Sunset said, placing her hand on Carmelita's forehead. Her eyes glows white when she looked right into her memories. We have a look into nighttime in Paris as Carmelita has jumped onto the rooftops.
"Criminal!" Carmelita said, pointing her gun at the raccoon. "You foolish raccoon! I've caught you red-handed!"
"Ahh... Carmelita. I haven't seen you since I gave you the slip in Bombay," Sly said.
"Which reminds me — you need to return the Fire Stone of India to its rightful owners," Carmelita said.
"Aw, and I was going to give it to you as a little token of my," Sly said in a flirting tone, "hey, you know that bazooka really brings out the color of your eyes. Very fetching!"
"You think? This pistol packs a paralyzing punch. You ought to try it. Might snap you out of your crime spree," Carmelita said.
"Love to stick around and chat, but I just dropped by to pick up this case file. I think you've had it long enough," Sly said. Sly runs down the fire escape as Carmelita fires at him.
"You are under arrest!" Carmelita shouted. She kept firing at him until he reached the Cooper Van. Murray drove in a hurry. "You can't escape me, raccoon!"
The scene goes forward as Sly has defeated one of his father's murderers as the remains of the evil owl is sinking into the lava.
"All's well that ends well," Sly said.
"Think again, Cooper," Carmelita said, pointing her pistol at him. "You're coming with me." She got the handcuffs ready.
"So, that's it, isn't it? Just gonna slap the cuffs on me just like that?" Sly asked.
"I would do that, Sly, but I'm going to stick with my promise. I'm going to give you that ten second head start like I promised," Carmelita said.
"Okay. How about we both count backwards just to make sure," Sly suggested. Carmleita took a step closer as they counted.
"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two..." Sly and Camrleita counted. They glared right at each other.
"One!" Sly counted as he gave the inspector a kiss on the lips. He took off ahead of her.
"Oh, Sly," Carmelita said, lovestruck. She quickly snapped out of her lovestruck when she realized she was cuffed to a railing. "Huh? When did he?" Carmelita realized the kiss was a distraction to stall her in the chase. "COOPER!"
She sees even further as Carmelita and a female purple anthropomorphic tiger comes into the scene as Sly was in the museum of national history in Cairo, Egypt.
"Freeze, Cooper!" Carmelita ordered.
"Inspector Fox," Sly flirted, "as beautiful and unpredictable as ever."
"Where as you crooks are so predictable, you always return to the scene of the crime," Carmelita said.
"Crime? I haven't stolen anything," Sly denied, "yet."
"Oh really? Then who broke in last night and made off with all the Clockwerk parts? You've got the motive," Carmelita said. This bit of news surprised the master thief.
"Someone already stole the parts?!" Sly exclaimed.
"Don't play dumb with me," Carmelita hissed.
"It might not have been him, Carmelita. The method of entry and guard casualties all point to this being a Klaww Gang job," the tigress said.
"Constable Neyla, I allowed you to sit in on this stakeout as a favor to the Contessa," Carmelita said, "I really don't need any help."
"Oh, I think you might. Look at the facts," Neyla said.
"Facts?! Sly Cooper is right here! I caught him red-handed," Carmelita said as Sly snuck away.
"I'm just saying that there are criminals in the world other than-" Neyla said when Carmelita caught him sneaking away.
"Sly Cooper! After him!" Carmelita shouted as she chased after him. She kept firing at him as Murray shows up.
"Oh, geez! Wait up, Sly!" Murray said.
"Shake a leg, Murray! It's time to go!" Sly said. Sly and Murray kept on running as Bentley has joined his teammates.
"This wasn't part of the plan!" Bentley exclaimed.
"This is getting a little hot. You guys go warm up the van. I'll keep Carmelita busy," Sly said.
" You're all going to jail!" Carmelita yelled.
"Pick me up at the rendezvous!" Sly said as his teammates took off for the van. Sly makes his escape when he heads inside the van.
"I'll find you, Cooper!" Carmelita vowed.
We go forward as Carmelita had arrested Sly, but she realized the flight had lasted for two hours and saw the same Eiffel Tower again and again in the background, giving the thieving racoon time to escape.
"It's been fun, Carmelita, but I got old business to attend to," Sly said as he jumped out of the helicopter.
"I'll find you, Cooper! I'll be seeing you soon, ringtail!" Carmelita vowed.
Seeing all she needed to see, Sunset took her hand off of Carmelita's forehead.
"She was telling the truth. And I saw some pretty interesting things in her memories," Sunset Shimmer said.
"You saw my memories? How?" Carmelita asked.
"It's the magic I have. I look into people's memories just by touching them. We had to make sure you weren't with the bad guys. Sorry about tying you up like that," Sunset Shimmer apologized.
"Anyway, you could tell us how you got here," Sora said.
"I was in Interpol HQ, going over a recent attack when I was knocked out. Also, I've been looking into some weird disappearences and I ended up here, not sure where I am," Carmelita explained.
"Did you happen to go through some kind of doorway?" Ash asked.
"Yes, but how do you know about that?" Carmelita asked.
"We all had our share of experiences with it," Ash said. Everyone all introduced themselves and explained to the police fox that she had came through a dimensional rift into a new world. They also explained to her about the Brotherhood of Darkness and their attempt to take over the multiverse.
"So that's it. That explains a lot," Carmelita said. "So, all of you here, except for Sora and Kairi are from different worlds and you're working together to finding out where the Brotherhood of Darkness is occupied."
"That's pretty much the sum of it," Coco said.
"I guess that means we have a common enemy," Carmelita said.
"So, where am I exactly?" Carmelita asked.
"Pallet Town. My Pallet Town anyway," Sora said. She looked at him quite dumbfounded. "I know know what you're thinking, what do I mean my Pallet Town, right?" Sora asked. Carmelita nodded. "Ash, Brock, May, and Max are from a world that's like mine, but it's a little bit different than this one."
"I don't doubt it. So, does that mean, I'm going to stay here in the mansion?" Carmelita asked.
"Might as well, since it's a big place," Hunter said.
"And we could always use another girl around here," Palette said.
"I can detect another flower crown being made," Charmy whispered to Cuphead. Cuphead and Mugman remembered the flower crowns Cream and Cheese made for them. It was obvious she had taken a liking to the twins just like with Banjo and Kazooie when they first arrived.
Over to the Cooper Gang, they drove down the roads of the Kanto region in the days that has passed since arriving. Bentley had been looking into the creatures he had just learned about; creatures called Pokémon. Bentley was impressed by how there were so many different species of Pokémon and how they were living together with human beings both as pets and as partners. The Cooper Gang had quickly made themselves known in Kanto when they began robbing from the criminals of Kanto. Sly didn't find it easy having to be dealing with the Pokémon trained by these crooks, but managed to rip them off. Murray also had his shares of challenges.
"So Bentley, where are we heading now?" Sly asked.
"According to the map, it says where heading for a place called Pallet Town. It seems to be a peaceful place," Bentley said.
"Peaceful or not, there could be criminals hiding out here. And we can see if we can rob them blind," Sly said.
"Always looking for some action, Sly. If we're going to avoid getting caught, we'll need a hideout of our own to plan our next move," Bentley said.
"There's a small cave somehwere close by. It's just over to those mountains. But we'll have to go through the town if we wanna get there quickly," Bentley said.
"Not a problem. We'll just casually stroll along the road," Sly said.
"We're going to need a proper disguise. Fortunately I have prepared a holographic camouflage projection for the van and it's a good time to test it out," Bentley said. He activates the holographic van's camouflage and it appeared like a 60s styled van. "It took a tad longer to finish than I planned on, but I'm glad that it's finished."
"I knew your big brain was going to cook something up. Take it away, Murray," Sly said.
"You got it, Sly," Murray said, casually driving along. The van drove along the road, seeing all sorts of sights around.
Unknown to them, the Black Arachnid and his Meowth had arrived in town and grinned wickedly.
"Pallet Town. The place to make my mark of revenge," the Black Arachnid said.
"Meowth," the Black Arachnid's Meowth said.
"Come on. We got a kid to find," the Black Arachnid said.
"Meowth!" The Black Arachnid's Meowth said.
The Black Arachnid and his Meowth ventured through Pallet Town. The Cooper Gang had spotted him and Sly got a suspicious look in his eyes.
"Guys, doesn't that guy reek of suspension?" Sly asked.
"He certainly does. He has no good written on his face. Maybe we should follow him and see where he goes," Bentley said.
"Oh, I smell a brawl coming along," Murray said.
"I do too, Murray. Step on it," Sly said. The van follows the Black Arachnid siliently as he heads for the Ketchum house. Delia is cleaning the house, humming a happy tune. Delia hears a knock at the door. She answers it to see the Black Arachind diguised as a journalist.
"May I help you?" Delia asked.
"Yes, I'm Elliot Sniyder from the Viridian News Bureau. I am here for an interview with a Mr. Sora Ketchum," The Black Arachnid lied.
"Sora is my son. You may find him over to the mansion in town. He and his girlfriend are there visiting their friends. It's just down the main road," Delia said.
"Thank you, ma'am. You've been very helpful," The Black Arachnid said. He and his Meowth left as he headed for the mansion. The Cooper Gang followed down the road to tail him.
Over to the mansion, Sora and Ash did some training as they had their Pikachu practiced their attacks.
"That's it, buddy! Keep it up!" Ash said.
"Iron Tail!" Sora and Ash ordered. Both Pikachu locked on their Iron Tail and held on. They broke their hold and looked at each other. Both Pikachu smiled and shook hands. Sora and Ash did the same thing.
"Good work, Sora," Ash said.
"You too, Ash," Sora said.
Kairi, Angel, Meowth, May, Max, and Brock were watching the practice battle closely.
"Sora and Ash are awesome together," Max said.
"Those practice battles are working like a charm," Meowth said.
"You do remember about the training we've been doing to be ready for anything. Team Rocket, Team Magma, and Team Aqua were giving us quite a show in the past," Kairi said.
"I find it amazing that your Jessie and James helped take down your world's Team Rocket," Brock said.
"I gotta ask, how could your Team Rocket try to wipe out the bond between Pokémon and people? It just seems wrong," May said.
"It is. That was something we all found be very unforgivable. Giovanni had to be stopped. We didn't know Ganondorf and the rest of the Brotherhood of Darkness were there," Kairi said.
"Doesn't surprise me to hear your Team Rocket would work with someone like Ganondorf. Not to mention, other villains as well," Brock said.
"Bowser, K. Rool, Risky, Wily, and the rest of those goons mean serious business," Meowth said.
The Black Arachind and his Meowth reached the mansion and grinned.
"Sweet. He's right inside," the Black Arachnid said. He looked around for a weak spot and climbed up to the mansion. He spotted a chimney and smiled. "Santa isn't the only one who can use a chimney. "Ho-ho-ho." He climbed on down. His Meowth climbed down after him. The Cooper Gang caught up with him.
"He went down that chimney," Bentley said.
"Isn't there another way to get inside of there?" Sly asked.
"There should be a vent that should be snug enough for you to squeeze through. And Murray, you can check the backyard for a secret entrance. And I'll go in from the roof," Bentley said.
"On it," Sly said.
"Let's get this party started," Murray said.
The Cooper gang split up to find a different entrance. Sly looked around for a vent to go through. He found that it was just his size. The raccoon heads on inside as Murray heads for the backyard. Bentley used his jet-powered wheelchair and searched for a way in. He spotted that an old window was partially opened. The turtle managed to get right inside. He found himself in the attic. Bentley searched for the attic's entrance. Murray made his way through the back gardens. He saw Bentley the Yeti taking a few swings of his club as Knuckles was punching on a tree. Murray had to be careful not to be seen. Sly makes inside the mansion and he knew the guy the Cooper Gang was following is somewhere in the mansion by now.
Over to the Black Arachnid, he and his Meowth snucked through the mansion, by climbing on the ceiling.
"Okay Meowth. Go," the Black Arachnid said.
"Meowth," the Black Arachnid's Meowth said. His Meowth went on ahead to find Sora. The Black Arachnid waited for this day since he got put in prison. The Black Arachnid's Meowth escaped shortly after the arrest, but it managed to stay in hiding. The Black Arachnid's Meowth had to jump through lots of hoops to plan his escape. It took longer to do so since security had been constantly boosted up. But it was worth it. The Black Arachnid had been conspiring his escape and he found a perfect solution; he was going to cause a prison riot by assaulting a random inmate. Once the riot began, the Black Arachnid slipped unnoticed until it was too late.
The Black Arachnid looked out the window and he smiled as he saw his target at last.
"There he is. The brat is in my sights," the Black Arachind said. He quietly heads out to the door. He was unaware he was being followed. Bentley caught up with Sly.
"Bentley, where's Murray?" Sly asked.
"He's probably still outside. What about the guy we're tailing?" Bentley asked.
"He headed outside himself. Murray should be able to get to him before we do; that's if he's close enough," Sly said.
Outside, Sora and Ash were taking a break from their training. The Black Arachnid's Meowth has joined him. The Black Arachnid could wait no longer.
"Sora Ketchum!" The Black Arachnid shouted. The small group turned to see him. Sora and Kairi were shocked to see him after so long.
"Black Arachnid?! I thought you were locked up!" Sora exclaimed.
"I was thanks to you. I've been thinking of you everyday from the day since the judge threw the book at me and sentenced me to spend the rest of my life to rot away in some prison cell!" The Black Arachind barked.
"Meowth!" The Black Arachnid's Meowth also barked.
"Um, who is that guy?" May asked.
"The Black Arachnid. Or should I say, the new Black Arachnid. We met him during our journey in the Johto region when we met the Officer Jenny there. He was trying to avenge his ancestor with a new spring of crime waves. We all put a stop to that and he got sent off to prison," Kairi explained.
"So, it wasn't your Jessie and James trying to pull that old stunt off?" Brock asked.
"We tried to, but we got our tushes handed to us before we could try it. But we managed to escape from jail," Meowth said.
"I broke out of prison to get my revenge on you! And this time, everything will go according to plan!" The Black Arachnid said.
"I beat you before and I know I can beat you again!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Sora's Pikachu agreed.
"Meowth! Pay Day!" The Black Arachnid ordered. The Black Arachnid's Meowth threw gold coins at Sora's Pikachu.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Sora's Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and hurls it at the Black Arachnid's Meowth.
"Dodge and use Shadow Claw!" The Black Arachnid ordered. The Black Arachnid's Meowth forms a shadowy aura.
Over to Murray, he snuck on through without being seen. Bentley the Yeti and Knuckles hears the commotion going on.
"Hear that?" Bentley the Yeti asked.
"I sure do. We should have a look and see," Knuckles said.
Sly and Bentley snuck outside as the battle goes on.
"Those two are really going at it," Sly said.
"It sure is. I don't know why, but I'm getting the chills just watching," Bentley said.
"Fury Swipes, Meowth!" The Black Arachnid ordered.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave the Black Arachnid's Meowth a shocking Thunderbolt and sends the Meowth back against the wall. He growled in anger.
"You will not make a fool of me again! I'll have to-" The Black Arachnid said, being struck from behind. He fell on his stomach as Sly held his cane.
"Didn't know you had a shadow, did you?" Sly asked.
Everyone else came out when they all heard the commotion.
"Hey, what's going on out here?" X asked. Carmelita saw the raccoon in her sights.
"Cooper?! You're here too?!" Carmelita exclaimed.
"Good to see you too. Lovely as ever I see," Sly flirted.
"Who is this?" Bandana Dee asked.
"I saw him in Carmelita's memory. Sly Cooper. The one she's been chasing," Sunset Shimmer said. Knuckles and Bentley the Yeti show up to the scene.
"What's going on here?" Knuckles asked.
"Just a battle going on and Sora won," Ash said.
"And this guy shows up," Meowth said.
"And if you two are here, then where's-?" Carmelita asked when Murray shows up.
"The Murray has arrived! Prepare for a beat down you will never forget!" Murray said.
"It's over Murray. What took you?" Sly asked.
"Just had to go through the gardens without being seen. It wasn't easy," Murray said.
"Did you three come from a dimensional rift like Carmelita did?" Sora asked.
"If you're talking about the dimensional doors, that'll be affirmative. We arrived here in town and we followed this guy here to this mansion," Bentley the Turtle said.
"Just who is this guy?" Sly asked.
"The Black Arachnid. He's a cat burglar we dealt with a long time ago," Sora said. "He was robbing the homes of rich art collectors to restore his ancestor's honor, but we got him before we could lose him."
"I saw a news coverage about not too long ago. I had no idea he was coming here," Shadow said.
"He came all this way just to get revenge on you just like that?" Max asked.
"It looks like it. How about we tie him up and call the police to pick him up," Brock suggested.
"Best for the cops to deal with him," Rainbow Dash said. Carmelita slapped the handcuffs on him and his Meowth. The police arrived to the scene and apprehended the Black Arachnid and his Meowth.
It didn't take long until the Cooper Gang to fit in. Sora and Kairi introduced themselves and told them about the situation they were in. They explained about the Brotherhood of Darkness to the Cooper Gang.
"These guys must mean business," Murray said.
"So, Sly, isn't it? Carmelita explained that you guys are thieves. How is it that she hasn't arrested you yet?" Sora asked.
"She came close, but this raccoon isn't going behind bars," Sly said. "But you have nothing to worry about because we won't rob you or anything. We only steal from criminals. There's no honor, challenge, and fun from stealing from law-abiding citizens."
"You steal only from criminals?" Sora raised a brow.
"Pika?" Pikachu also raised a brow.
"And there's no honor in stealing from ordinary people?" Kairi added.
"Eevee?" Angel asked.
"That's right. Only steal from criminals. That's the golden rule. It's been like that from the days of my forefathers," Sly said.
"You mean they stole from criminals too?" Sora asked.
"They sure did. My ancestors trailed back to the old times when they would steal from criminals and corrupt monarchs and nobles," Sly said. "The Cooper line ended up with me."
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"It goes back to when I was eight years old when I was supposed to inherit this," Sly said, taking out a leather-bound book with gold corners and a gold lock on the right side. On the front cover is the Cooper symbol, book-ended by the "T" and "S" of the word "Thievius" which lies below in gold, and "Raccoonus" below that in blue. It has visible aging, as there are circles of red rot in some places. It also has a blue ribbon bookmark."It was passed down from one Cooper to the next."
"That's some book," Sora said.
"It has to be since I had to steal this back," Sly said.
"Steal this back?" Sora asked.
"Was it stolen before?" Kairi asked.
"It was unfortunately," Sly sighed. "It was the night I was supposed to inherit the book when five visitors came down to my home. They were known as the Fiendish Five. They came and killed my parents. And they stole the Thievius Raccoonus and divided it up into five sections, each to commit their own crimes." Sora and Kairi were stunned to hear Sly was made an orphan because of five criminals.
"Sorry to hear that," Kairi said.
"It's okay. To tell the truth, it wasn't all that bad, because the orphanage is where I met these two amigos. Bentley who is the brains. And Murray who is the brawn. We grew up together," Sly said.
"Pulling off all kinds of jobs," Murray said.
"And traveled the world putting the crooks behind bars where they belong," Bentley the Turtle said.
"That sounds kinda like the times we had on our travels, Sora. Dealing with all kinds of bad people. Giving them what they deserve," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Yeah, it does," Sora agreed.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Anyway, Sly, since you and your gang are here and you deal with bad guys all the time, just how about you join up with us? Just ask long as you promise not to steal from anyone," Sora said.
"Sure thing. We could use a place to stay," Sly said.
With that said, the Cooper Gang has joined the other heroes in the battle against the Brotherhood of Darkness. They knew the Brotherhood of Darkness were getting stronger with each passing day, but they were getting stronger as well. Carmelita has joined in the team since she, Sora, and the Cooper Gang has a common enemy against the Brotherhood of Darkness.
