Episode 308: Kairi vs Ash
Several days had passed since the Cooper Gang and Carmelita had joined in the fight against the Brotherhood of Darkness. They didn't have a hard time fitting in. Murray had taken a liking to Kairi's cooking. Bentley the Turtle has taken a shine to the technology the Reploids had provided. He was skeptical about sentient robots, but he was amazed at the same time. Sly was writting down in the Thievius Raccoonus about Sora and Kairi and their inter dimesional experience.
Bentley the Turtle was working on a communicator to reach their world. He was given the know-how by Tails.Alia was with him to compare notes. He typed in the dimesional coordinates and came through. Appearing on the screen is a purple marine iguana with reddish-brown eyes. His eyelids are blue and baggy, he has a crumpled cigarette dangling from his mouth. He has a large blue crest that mimics hair, as well as a blue "goatee," and he wears a green jacket with a large collar over an orange tank-top. To go with his jacket, he wears green pants held up by a large gold belt buckle, as well as orange socks and shoes. He has rings on both hands, and a watch on one of his wrists.
"What up, crackers? Haven't heard from you in from you since last dance, yeah?" The iguana asked.
"Dimitri, as usual, I have no idea what you're talking about. Anyway, we're all stuck in a completely different world, but I was hoping to get through to you," Bentley said.
"Groovy, man. You guys are tripping for action. Not just around the world, but many worlds, yo!" Dimitri said.
"Yeah, that I understood. Listen, some bad guys calling themselves the Brotherhood of Darkness are working to take all of our worlds. There's a chance someone someone working for them might be wondering around," Bentley said.
"Brother of of Darkness? Those crackerboxes have no style, man. Some weirdos with no style was wondering Pari," Dimitri holds a photo of a purple Maverick resembling an eagle. He has his wings on his back and a large arm cannon on his right arm. One is a yellow Maverick resembling a mandrill. One is a black Maverick resembling a penguin, but has a a missle on his back. One is a light purple Maverick that looks like an armadillo. Alia recognized them.
"Chill Penguin, Armored Aramdillo, Spark Mandrill, and, Storm Eagle?!" Alia exclaimed.
"You know them, Alia?" Tails asked.
"Sure do. They used to be Maverick Hunters, but they went Maverick along with Sigma. I should have guessed those Mavericks would be a part of it," Alia said.
"Dimitri, isn't it? Are they those four the only ones there?" Alia asked.
"Just the only ones I've seen, chicky pie. But there two others who jumped Interpol before these punks started showing their metallic faces. There's chatter going 'round that they're being seen around Paris," Dimitri said.
"If Sigma's goons are there, then there could be some of either Eggman's robots roaming around too," Tails said.
"Also Kremlings, Koopas, or Snowmads," Alia said. "There could be other bases of operations we don't know about."
"Agreed. Our enemies are more organized than I thought. Dimitri, we're going to need you to keep an eye on things there," Bentley said.
"Got it, man. I'll beam you more details when I know more," Dimitri said, cutting contact.
"Looks like this getting worse by the minute. Sigma a part of the Brotherhood of Darkness?" Alia asked in disbelief. "X and Zero are not going to like this."
"I know I don't. The Brotherhood of Darkness might have set up shop in some of our worlds," Tails said.
"I hope you're wrong, Tails. I really do," Bentley said.
Over to Abel City, Gareth and Berkana stepped into a room where several Mavericks, including Frost Walrus, Storm Owl, Spiral Pegasus, Bubble Crab, and Wheel Gator. One Maverick has the appearence of a mushroom with an orange cap and goggles (Split Mushroom). One Maverick resembles a peacock (Cyber Peacock). One Maverick resembles a lion and has an eye patch (Slash Beast). One Maverick has the resemblence of a tyrannosaurus rex and has sharp teeth and clawed toes. His armor is spiked, he possessed large claws on his forearms, and along his neck down to his tail were great plumes of fire (Burn Dinorex). In the room with them are two other Repoids. One Reploid is a yellow Reploid of average height, smaller than some of the Mavericks in the room. He possesses blue armor along his feet and hands, and his torso and head are adorned with orange swirls somewhat resembling magatamas. His face is mostly concealed by his helmet, save for his eyes, and he has two blue orbs on either side of his head. The other is a giant Reploid, being nearly twice as tall as his partner Bit. His armor is mostly red and orange in color, though his head is colored black and grey. He has a large chin and a mohawk-like structure with tubes protruding out of it. Circles with horizontal notches, similar to flat-head screws, adorn his knees, shoulders, and feet. He also possesses a notable belly, and has a large ring on his back similar to a halo.
"Where is Dr. Doppler?" Gareth asked.
"He should be in about now," the yellow Reploid replied.
Juat then, a Reploid resembling an elderly man with a curved white beard and a wild head of hair that flows upwards. Despite his apparent old age, he has an advanced Reploid body covered in grey and blue armor. Two large canisters or dynamos of some kind protrude from his shoulders, with tubes connected to his back and wires connected to a band on his forehead. He wore a white lab coat.
"Gaerth, Berkana, good of you to come. How may I be of assistance?" The Reploid asked..
"Dr. Doppler, have you completed your work yet?" Berkana asked.
"Yes, I have. The data you have provided to me has proven itself useful. The crystals that our Mavericks have gathered is a perfect surce of power for our Mavericks. Also, the supplies delievered by the Kremlings has also proven useful," Dr. Doppler said.
"Excellent. How soon will it be ready?" Gareth asked.
"It'll be ready within three days. The power crystals and the gems are in need for extracting power," Dr. Doppler said.
"Then, do not let us keep you, good doctor. We will leave you to it," Berkana said as she and Gareth left. Dr. Doppler anayled the purple crystals and the six gems in his possession. The gems are red, blue, orange, yellow, green, and violet.
Gareth and Berkana walked down the halls of the Maverick Base to discuss in private.
"You were right about this, Gareth. This is the best deal we have ever made," Berkana said.
"What can I say? Our Maverick forces gathering the gems and crystals since they have the power we need to make our new string of Mechaniloids work. Although the Chaos Emeralds would have proved more useful to us. But Sigma stated that Eggman's empire has a more useful way of using them. Not exactly sure what his plan is for Mobius," Gareth said.
"As long as it works in our favor, I honestly don't care how it turns out. All the worlds will be ours to rule," Berkana said.
Not too far, a Maverick wearing purple armor and gold highlights was listening in their conversation. He wore a helmet that is similar to a Mandalorian helmet, hiding his face. He has a cannon on his shoulder and an ammo belt arching into a pack on his back.
"If only every Maverick shares our vision. There are those who want to go out on their own without knowing how to do so. Vile is no exception. He only cares about proving his strength and power to others, especially to X and Zero," Gareth said.
"Why did you have to mention that renegade? You know how out of control he is. I don't even know why Sigma didn't finish him off when he had the chance!" Berkana said.
"Neither do I. And knowing Vile, he would not care about the consequences of his actions, nor would he care about about the innocence who suffers his rampage. And I agree Sigma should have finished him off," Gareth said.
"So, you would say!" The purple Maverick said. "Sigma didn't fnish me off because he's weak! I don't know why you all follow him around like a dog and obey his every command!"
"Vile, as usual, you are so short-sighted," Berkana said.
"Sigma spared your life because you challenged him and lost. He would have finished you off right there and there, but he saw no point in wasting a Repoid with talents such as yours," Gareth said. "You can upgrade your systems all you want, but you will never be a match for him."
That struck a cord with Vile. At some point, Vile challanged Sigma into a fight to the finish to prove how strong he his. But Sigma was more than a match for Vile as he was at the point of death. Sigma would have finished the renegade Maverick off, but he didn't do so, and he used him as an example to any Maverick who defied him. Vile was bad as a Maverick Hunter, but as a Maverick, he was worse.
He would have fought Berkana and Gareth, but instead he just walked off. He gave the wall beside him a pound, showing his anger.
"It looks like you touched a nerve, Gareth," Berkana said.
"It appears so. Now, we shall check on our agent in Maverick Hunter HQ, just to see what he is up to," Gareth said, making contact.
In Maverick Hunter HQ, he was carrying some boxes and he knocked some over along with the ones he's carrying.
"Oh, not again!" Double groaned.
"Hey, watch it!" A Hunter yelled.
"Sorry about that," Double apologized. The yellow Reploid picked the ones he dropped and tripped again. "Oh!" The Maverick Hunters were laughing right at him as they took off. If Double wasn't undercover, he would have struck those Hunters down for laughing at him. He hears a beeping sound. He had to make sure he was completely aone. He answered, "Double here."
"Report, spy," Gareth said.
"So far all's well on my end. The Hunters don't suspect a thing," Double said.
"What of X and Zero? Any news on them?" Gareth asked.
"Not a thing since they vanished along with that strange silver hedgehog. Those navigators, that gunslinger, the Repliforce's Colonel, and his sister are still missing," Double reported.
"That's good. Just make sure it stays that way, Double," Gareth said.
"Right," Double said, breaking contact. He had to make sure there was no one around.
Back in Pallet Town, Murray was enjoying the ramen Kairi had just made.
"This is the best ramen I have ever tasted! It's even better the instant stuff and the kind the kind you eat at resturants," Murray said.
"Thank you, Murray. Sora says the same thing about my cooking," Kairi said.
"I envy Sora since he got to enjoy this everyday on your travels," Murray said.
"I'm just happy to see others enjoy it," Kairi said.
"Just how did you learn to cook like this?" Murray asked.
"It was my grandma who taught me when I was little," Kairi said.
"Did your mom help you too?" Murray asked.
"No. I didn't see much of them when I was a baby. I was living with my grandma in Viridian City at the time," Kairi said.
"Why not? It doesn't sound right," Murray said.
"It was becuase of a long-time enemy they had. A man named Jakira had it in for my parents for a long time. He tried to control Pokémon by their anger. My parents faked their deaths to psyche him out and they have been hiding in the shadows ever since," Kairi said. The pink hippo understood.
"That makes sense. If it was to protect you, Sly would think it was right. Just how did you react when you found out that they were still alive?" Murray asked.
"To be honest, I was upset when I saw them again, becuase I felt like I was being lied to my whole life. I would be angry at them forever if Sora hadn't talked me into giving them a chance," Kairi said. "And I would have done the same thing if Sora found his dad was still alive."
"You mean he's not?" Murray asked.
"No. Sora never knew his dad. He lived with his mom his whole life. What about you, Murray? Sly did say that you and Bentley lived in an orphanage when his parents died," Kairi pointed out.
"Yeah, it was after Sly lost his folks because of Clockwerk and the rest of the Fiendish FIve that he landed in the same orphanage as me and Bentley. We became fast friends since he came into our lives. From that day on, we went on heists all over the world," Murray said. "I even remember our very first heist."
"What was your first heist?" Kairi asked.
"It was back in the orphanage. We had the meanest headmistress that has ever had a beak and feathers; Mrs. Puffin," Murray started. "She was so mean, he made some of the crooks we robbed seem nice. When we tried it the first time, she chewed us out and ate cookies right in front of us. She hoarded the cookies from all the other orphans. She even stole the Christmas cookies that was promised to us. So, we waited until she left her office, so Sly was already hiding in her office when she left. Bentley was giving out the plan while I was behind the wheel. Bentley thought Sly was going to get caught when the janitor came in to do his nightly cleaning. We didn't know it at the time, Sly had swiped the cookies in his hat before I peddled, and pulling him out by rope. And I tell you, those cookies sweeter than the last with each bite." Kairi and Murray laughed.
"That's quite a story, Murray," Kairi said.
"Now, your turn, Kairi. How about you share a story about your journey," Murray said.
"Okay. Here's a story about the time Sora and I went to Lavender Town. Sora and I were joined by nine kids from the Alola region. There were three boys, Illima, Sophocles, and Kiawe; and there were six girls, Lillie, Mallow, Lana, Acerola, Mina, and Hapu," Kairi started. "We were on our way to Celadon City for Sora's fourth Gym Badge when we made a stop in Lavender Town and visited the Pokémon House where it was place where abandoned and orphaned Pokémon would stay."
"Abandoned?" Murray asked.
"There are trainers who would abandon their Pokémon if they decided they were weak. It was so wrong in so many ways. Running the house was a man named Mr. Fuji. He wasn't present in the Pokémon House at the time, because he was a prisoner of Team Rocket," Kairi said.
"Bentley mentioned those guys when he got into this world's database. Just who were Team Rocket anyway?" Murray asked.
"Team Rocket were a criminal organization who used their Pokémon to commit all kinds of crimes. They also stole Pokémon from other trainers too. And that's where I was going with my story. We learned that Team Rocket got there just days before us. They've set up base at the Pokémon Tower and that was when a ghost started to appear," Kairi explained.
"A ghost?" Murray asked, terrified.
"There was a ghost haunting the tower. The ghost we saw turns out to be a mother Marowak worried about her baby who was a Cubone that was made an orphaned by Team Rocket. Mr. Fuji went there to tell them to leave and not come back, but he ended up getting caught. We drove some of them out and the rest ended up getting arrested," Kairi explained.
"Whoa. That's quite a story," Murray said.
"I got loads of stories coming out the wazoo," Kairi said.
Over to Sora and Ash, they went out to pick up some milk for home since they were out. Sora wanted to make a stop at a florist shop on the way home, just to show his affection for Kairi. Once the milk was picked up, Sora bought Kairi the flowers and the two boys headed back.
"Kairi is sure going to love those," Ash said.
"She sure is. She loved every kind of flower I brought back for her," Sora said.
"I've been meaning to ask, Sora. When did Kairi decided to catch more Pokémon?" Ash asked.
"It was when we were in Johto. I thought it was a good idea Kairi started to catch and train her own Pokémon. Togepi was still a baby back then, but the Jigglypuff she caught is much stronger than I thought," Sora said.
"I still can't believe she caught the Jigglypuff that doodles on our faces for sleeping through the song," Ash said.
"I couldn't either, but I did promise that the next one we come across would be hers; and that Jigglypuff ended up being her first catch," Sora explained.
"Kairi is quite a trainer. But did Togepi ever battle before evolving?" Ash asked.
"Yeah. It was at an all-girl tournament called the Poké Maiden Tournament. It was during the final battle against a girl named Crimson. None of the other participants liked her because of her personality. Togepi ended up beating the pants off of her Dragonair and put her in her place," Sora said.
"That sounds awesome. I bet she got good through some serious training," Ash said.
"That and she watched me for so long," Sora said. "She and I even gotten our share of tag battles and won together. She started to enter Pokémon Contests when we were in the Hoenn region. And came out on top at the Grand Festival," Sora said.
"Your May must have been working hard to make it to the top with Kairi," Ash said.
"Yeah. Your May could take some notes," Sora said. "Also, when was the last time you bumped into Misty?"
"It was after getting back from the Hoenn League. I made it all the way to the Top 8," Ash said. "But I'm glad you made it to the championship in the Indigo Plateau and the Johto Leagues."
"Thanks Ash. You did your best, man. That's all that matters," Sora said. Ash wanted to see what Kairi was capable of during battle, so he wanted to ask her boyfriend.
"Hey, Sora," Ash spoke.
"Yeah?" Sora asked.
"I was wondering if it was cool if I could challenge Kairi in a battle? Letting you know I'm not trying to steal her away from you," Ash said. Sora laughed.
"Oh, you're not. It wouldn't be cool if you did," Sora said. "But I know you wouldn't do that." Both boys shared a laugh with each other. "That's something you should ask her yourself. Besides, I'm sure she'll be cool with it."
"Yeah, I'll do that," Ash said.
Over to Carmelita, she was going over the attack on Interpol over and over again. She still couldn't believe something like that would happen under her watch. She was speaking with Alia, Iris, Layer, and Pallette about the Maverick calling himself Bubble Crab.
"Bubble Crab? Seriously?" Alia asked.
"I take it he's a criminal where you're from, hm?" Carmelita asked.
"Yes. He's a Maverick working for Sigma," Alia said.
"Just what are Mavericks exactly?" Carmelita asked.
"Mavericks are Reploids that has gone out of control," Layer said.
"They go around and committing all kinds of crimes," Pallette said.
"Sigma has an army of Mavericks under his belt," Iris said.
"When he was first built, he didn't seem to be the Reploid who would go Maverick," Alia said.
"He went Maverick?" Carmelita asked.
"Yes he did. When the Mavericks first started showing up, human authorities such as the police couldn't be able to handle the situation, so in response to the Maverick threat, the Maverick Hunters were formed. Sigma served as the leader of the Maverick Hunters. Among these Maverick Hunters was Bubble Crab. He was serving in the 6th Naval Unit. It was a known fact Bubble Crab just had a love for money, so he joined Sigma's army out of greed," Alia said.
"Hard to believe you Reploids can have crooked cops in your ranks," Carmelita said in disbelief.
"Tell us about it. We've been fighting this war ever since," Alia said.
Sora and Ash reached the Ketchum house as their respected partners greeted them. Sora placed the milk in the refrigerator and headed for Kairi's house. Kairi and Angel stepped out to stretch theirlegs when Sora and Ash came by.
"Pretty flowers for the pretty lady?" Sora flirted. Kairi smiled as she accepted them.
"Thanks Sora. You're so very sweet," Kairi said, giving her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks Kairi. Ash has something he wants to ask you," Sora said.
"Say, Kairi. I was wondering if you could have a battle with me? I thought of challenging you for one for a while and I never got a chance becuase of the missions going on," Ash said.
"Sure thing, Ash. We can have a battle. Let's meet up at the mansion in one hour. Bring your A-game," Kairi said.
"Alright! You're on!" Ash said.
Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, and Max made their way over to the mansion for the battle between the two. By then, Kairi had taken Raichu and Gossifleur. The Cooper Gang and Carmelita were filled in about Pokémon battles. Both got in position as Brock was acting as the referee for the match. Kubfu had been hanging around and looked over to Sora.
"The between Kairi and Ash will soon come underway! Both trainers will be using three Pokémon each! The battle will be over when all three of either trainer's Pokémon are unable to battle! Let the match begin!" Brock announced. Ash took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Corphish! I choose you!" Ash called out as Corphish came snapping its claws.
"Gossifleur! Go!" Kairi called out. Gossifleur came out, doing a little spin.
"Ladies first, Kairi," Ash said.
"Being a gentlemen, Ash? Thanks. Gossifleur! Leafage!" Kairi ordered. Gossifleur sends leaves to strike at the lobster-like Pokémon.
"Corphish! Harden!" Ash ordered. Corphish hardens itself and the leaves bouces right off. "Move in with Crabhammer!" Corphish charges at Gossifleur to land a hit.
"Use Grass Knot!" Kairi ordered. Gossifleur's eyes glows green and the grass makes a knot. Corphish trips over on the grass before it could go even further. "Now, use Rapid Spin!" Gossifleur spins around and lands a hit onto Corphish. "Leafage again!"
"Corphish! Bat those leaves with Crabhammer!" Ash ordered. Corphish swings its pincers around and around, blocking the leaves.
"Not bad, Ash!" Kairi complemented. "It was clever of you to block Gossifleur's Leafage like that."
"Thanks Kairi. You're pretty awesome yourself," Ash said. "Corphish! Vise Grip!" Corphish headed for the flowering Pokémon.
"Grass Knot!" Kairi ordered. Gossifleur manipulates the grass and ties Corphish's pincer, keeping it shut. "Now, use Leafage!" Gossifleur sends out Leafage and struck Corphish on the mark. "Another Leafage!" Gossifleur sends out another Leafage and it struck Corphish again.''
"Corphish, try to get loose!" Ash called out. Corphish tried to get loose from Gossifleur's Grass Knot. Gossifleur tried to hold on, but Corphish was proving to be too strong. Corphish has broken freen. "Now, use Crabhammer!" Corphish lands a hit onto Gossifleur. The flowering Pokémon struggles to get back up. After making an effort to get back up, Gossifleur started to evolve. Gossifleur evoled into Eldegoss. Kairi remebering seeing an Eldegoss when she and Sora were in the Galar region for a vacation.
"Look at that!" Murray said.
"Gossifleur evolved!" Max excaimed.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Sora asked when he took out his Pokédex to scan Kairi's newly evolved Pokémon.

The cotton on the head of this Pokémon can be spun into a glossy, gorgeous yarn. The seeds attached to its cotton fluff are full of nutrients. It spreads them on the wind so that plants and other Pokémon can benefit from them.
"What cotton," Sora said.
"You evolved, Eldegoss," Kairi said.
"Eldegoss," Eldegoss said.
"I'm counting on you," Kairi said.
"Corphish! Bubble Beam!" Ash ordered. Corphish fired Bubble Beam right at the newly evolved Pokémon.
"Eldegoss! Cotton Spore!" Kairi ordered. Eldegoss fires a wad of cotton right at Corphish, sticking to it like chewed gum. "Now use Razor Leaf!" Eldegoss fires Razor Leaf and struck Corphish hard. Corphish tried toget back up, but fell back down out of exhaustion.
"Corphish is unable to battle! Eldegoss wins!" Brock announced. Ash calls Corphish back.
"Man, she's better than I thought," Ash said. "Let's see how she handles this one." Ash takes out another Pokéball and threw it. "Swellow! I choose you!" Swellow came on out. Kairi calls Eldegoss back and takes looks over to Angel.
"Go for it, Angel!" Kairi said. Angel went in to battle the swallow Pokémon. "You can have the first move this time, Ash!"
"Swellow! Wing Attack!" Ash ordered. Swellow started to come on down to strike at the female Eevee.
"Angel! Dodge and use Headbutt!" Kairi ordered. Angel avoids Swellow and lands a Headbutt on the swallow Pokémon. "Now use Quick Attack!" Angel ran to land a hit onto Swellow.
"Dodge it!" Ash called out. Swellow avoids Angel's Quick Attack. "Use Aerial Ace!" Swellow lands a hit onto Angel.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fires Swift to land a comeback onto Swellow.
"Double Team!" Ash called out. Swellow makes several copies of itself to avoid Swift, but they got struck by the stars. All of the copies vanishes. "Huh?! Wait! Swift landed a hit?!"
"Pika?!" Ash's Pikachu exclaimed.
"Ash! Swift can't be dodged!" Max called out to him.
"Now you tell me," Ash said.
"Ash! Don't get distracted!" Kairi called out to her opponent. "We make mistakes, that's how we learn. Don't lose your cool!"
"I'm not losing my cool! And I'm not losing this battle! Swellow! Peck! Let's go!" Ash ordered. Swellow heads right for Angel to land a peck.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel avoids Swellow's Peck and lands an Iron Tail on the side. "Now use Quick Attack!" Angel lands a hit onto Swellow. Swellow tumbles on the grass. Swellow refused to stay down that easily. Swellow wasn't going to call it quits just because of a few knicks and bruises.
"My Swellow won't go down that easily!" Ash said.
"Doesn't look like it to me. Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift right at Swellow.
"Aerial Ace!" Ash ordered. Swellow launched itself right at Angel. But the female Eevee kept firing Swift since she knew Aerial Ace couldn't be dodged. Swellow took the hits from the stars. Swellow took some more hits. Swellow lands a hit onto Angel. Both had earned a double knockout.
"Eevee and Swellow are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" Brock announced. Ash calls Swellow back and Kairi went up to Angel.
"Good job, Angel. You should take a rest," Kairi said kindly.
"Vee," Angel said.
"I'll hold on to her," Sora said. Kairi hands Angel to Sora and he went back to the others. Sora's Pikachu and Angel held each other's paws. May thought it was cute to see the two Pokémon being so close. Kairi has two to use and Ash has one to use. Ash turned to his Pikachu.
"You're up, Pikachu," Ash said.
"Pika!" Ash's Pikachu said. He went to battle Kairi. Kairi took out her Pokéball and threw it.
"Back to action, Eldegoss!" Kairi called out. Eldegoss came back out to battle. Kairi knew Electric Type attacks wouldn't have that much damage on Eldegoss.
"Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Ash ordered. Ash's Pikachu dashed to land a hit onto Eldegoss.
"Eldegoss! Cotton Spore!" Kairi ordered. Eldegoss fired Cotton Spore to get Pikachu stuck.
"Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered. Ash's Pikachu jumped and fired Thunderbolt at Eldegoss and she became paralyzed from the attack.
"Eldegoss!" Kairi gasped.
"Iron Tail!" Ash ordered. Ash's Pikachu Iron Tail right at the cotton bloom Pokémon and earned a knockout.
"Eldegoss is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" Brock announced. Kairi calls Eldegoss back and takes out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn, Raichu!" Kairi called out as her Raichu and pumped up his hands. "Okay, Raichu, start up with Quick Attack!" Raichu ran towards Ash's Pikachu.
"Pikachu! You use Quick Attack too!" Ash ordered. Ash's Pikachu ran towards Raichu. They clashed with their speed attacks. "Use Iron Tail!" Ash's Pikachu wung his tail to strike Raichu.
"Dodge and use Thunder Punch!" Kairi ordered. Raichu's fist emitted electricity to land a punch. Raichu lands an electrified punch onto Ash's Pikachu. "Now use Seismic Toss!" Raichu grabs Ash's Pikachu and gave a strong throw his pre-evolved form right to the ground.
"You okay, Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Pika," Ash's Pikachu replied.
"Great! Use Volt Tackle!" Ash ordered. Ash's Pikachu charges right at Raichu to land an electrifying tackle.
"Dodge!" Kairi called out. Raichu jumped to avoid Volt Tackle. Raichu barely dodged as he felt his foot take the hit from the attack. "Thunder Punch!" Raichu lands a punch onto Ash's Pikachu. "Now use Thunderbolt!" Raichu lets out a powerful Thunderbolt and struck Ash's Pikachu.
"Pikachu! You use Thunderbolt too!" Ash ordered. Ash's Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Raichu.
"Block it with your own Thunderbolt!" Kairi ordered. Kairi Raichu fired Thunderbolt right at Ash's Pikachu's Thunderbolt and resulted in an explosion. Both mouse Pokémon were standing their ground.
"Quick Attack!" Kairi and Ash ordered. Both Pof Ashs Pikachu and Raichu charged right at each other to land a hit. Both collided with each other. Both held on. Not one of them was backing down. Raichu overpowered Ash's Pikachu and tumbled backwards. Ash's Pikachu had been taken down.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Raichu wins! Kairi wins the battle!" Brock announced.
"First I lose to Sora and now I lose to Kairi," Ash said in disbelief. Ash looked over to his Pikachu. He picked up his partner.
"Chu," Ash's Pikachu said.
"You did your best, Pikachu," Ash said.
"Pikachu," Ash's Pikachu said. Kairi walked up Ash.
"Ash, you did great," Kairi said. Ash smiled at her. "I had fun battling you, Ash."
"Thanks Kairi. You're even better than I thought," Ash said. Kairi gave Ash a hug to him and he blushed. "Why did you hug me?"
"Just because you and Sora are dimensional brothers. I do the same to Ven," Kairi said.
Even though Ash had lost, he had a great time battling Kairi. Ash was glad to have one with her and Sora. Ash saw how she won her world's Grand Festival. Not too far, Yuta and Mirei were videotaping the battle and hoped to watch it later.
"That's our girl," Yuta said.
"I am so proud. She's quite a trainer, just like you, dear," Mirei said.
"She sure has my skills, but she's got your looks," Yuta said. He suddenly got tears in his eyes.
"Oh, Yuta," Mirei said, lovingly and gave her husband a passionate kiss. He returns the kiss and wrapped his arms around her. Team Choatix caught a glimpse of them kissing.
"Should we tell them that Kairi knew they were there the whole time?" Charmy asked.
"No. It'll only ruin the moment," Espio said.
It was easy for everyone to see where Kairi got her affections from. They all wondered if Sora's dad was this affectionate with Delia since they heard he never knew him.
Later, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth got ready to set off back to the Mushroom Kingdom. They were being joined by the Mario Brothers and Yoshi. Sora and Kairi were bringing Yamper, Sizzlipede, Ekans, Koffing, Medicham, Kingdra, Pincurchin, Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum. Sgt. Byrd was joining up with them on the mission. They could only hope that this experience would be different from the last one.
