Episode 309: Trouble on Yoshi's Island!
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, and Yoshi entered the dimensional rift to enter the Mushroom Kingdom to set off to see if there were any Pokémon lost in the strange world. Upon arriving, they came into the castle with Toadsworth waiting for them.
"Oh, thank goodness! Sir Mario and Sir Luigi, it's a good thing you're here!" Toadsworth said.
"What's the matter, Toadsworth?" Luigi asked.
"We have some kind of trouble coming from the ocean area. I suspect Bowser is up to his old trick," Toadsworth said.
"Of course Bowser would have his sticky claws in this kind of mess," Sora said.
"What else is new?" Meowth asked.
"There is also news of strange creatures swimming in the oceans. I fear Bowser might have found some sea monsters and added them to his army," Toadsworth said.
"Sea monster?" Yoshi asked.
"If there is a sea monster involved then we should look into it," Luigi said.
"Luigi's a-right. Bowser or no Bowser, we can't-a let a couple of sea monsters roam around like-a they own the place," Mario said.
"We'll help out anyway we can, Sora said.
"Chu, Pika, Pika, Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Thank you, Sora," Mario said.
"Your assistance is welcome, Sir Sora," Toadsworth said.
"We're happy to help out," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"There should be a Warp pipe that should get us the beach area," Luigi said. "Also, would you prefer the Frog Suit or the Penguin Suit?" Luigi holds out a Frog Suit and a Penguin Suit. Sora turned to his girlfriend.
"You wanna go as a frog or a penguin, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"I think I'll go as a penguin. Also, I wanna see you what you look like as a frog," Kairi said.
"Her boyfriend a frog. Wonder if she should be worried about getting warts," Meowth said under his breath. Pikachu and Angel glared right at Meowth, giving the scratch cat Pokémon a look that says "Really?" "What?"
Not saying more, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, and Yoshi headed out for the Warp Pipe leading to the beach to find the source of the disturbance.
Over to the sea of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mantine and Qwilfish swam through the oceans as they were attacking the sharks and purple Cheep-Cheeps with spikes. The two Pokémon swam through the ocean depths as the sharks and Spiny Cheep-Cheeps swam away in fear.
Over to Yoshi's Island, Komala slept sondly ever since it came onto the island. Komala rolls around, clinging to its log. Komala rolls pass by a large yellow caterpillar with orange spot surrounded by brown rings and has a white flower on his head. He has two arms and eight legs (Wiggler). The caterpillar stopped when the koala-like Pokémon rolls along.
"What was that about?" The Wiggler asked.
Elsewhere on the island, several Koopa Troopas were standing guard around a fortress. Along with the Koopa Troopas were Goomba-like creatures with yellow muzzles and green feet (Galoomba) and some purple dinosaur-like dragons that has resemble the Yoshis with nasal horns, and small dragon wings and red shoes like the Yoshis (Rex). Also patrolling the grounds were some ceratopsian-like dinosaurs, one kind is small (Dino-Torch) and one kind is large with red spines (Dino-Rhino) Goombas, Shy Guys, Lakitus, Spinies, Hammer Bros, red Hammer Bros (Fire Bros), blue Hammer Bros (Boomerang Bros), light blue Hammer Bros (Ice Bros), large overweight Hammer Bros (Sledge Bros), yellow creatures with dark blue shells and red eyes (Buzzy Beetle), green Koopas with black shells and a tuft of blue hair (Spike), and Snifits were also patrolling the grounds. Larry Koopa and Iggy Koopa came out of the fortress.
"Okay, he should be here soon," Iggy said.
"We were told by the boss to wait up for him," Larry said. A dimenional rift opens up and out stepped is a trio of Mavericks. One Maverick is the tallest of the trio. His armor is predominantly purple in color and is made to resemble a sharp coat, possessing two tails and large shoulderpads. His helmet is also designed to resemble a hat of sorts, coming to three individual points at the along with the other two have their feet pointing upwards. The second one is hunchbacked Reploid with primarily blue armor. He is elderly in appearance, possessing a large metal moustache, a beard, and five spikes of hair. One of his eyes is large and circular, like a monocle. He also wore a black cape with a purple lining and a black hat reminiscent of an ushanka. The third Maverick stocky Reploid with primarily red armor and a pig-like face. He possesses spiked armor around his wrists, shoulders, and neck. His most notable trait is the "hair" protruding from the back of his head, which is composed of metal spike balls ending in one giant flail. He is is also wearing an orange cape with a raised collar.
"Serges, Agile, Violen, right?" Iggy asked.
"Yes, I am Serges," the hunchbacked Maverck answered.
"I am Agile," the tallest Maverick added. "And this one is Violen. And we take it that you're two of the Koopalings, yes?"
"Yeah. I'm Larry and he's Iggy. Our boss Bowser told us that you were coming. The fortress is up and ready," Larry said.
"We will be the judges of that," Serges said coldly.
"So, don't go and patronize us or anything," Violen said. The three Mavericks walk by them like they weren't there.
"Why those stuck-up-" Larry scowled.
"Easy, Larry. Boss said it'll be worth it," Iggy said.
"Hope it's worth it," Larry said.
Over to the beach area, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, and Yoshi made it to the beach area. Sora and Mario placed on their Frog suits as they crouched down like frogs while Kairi and Luigi put on their Penguin Suits. Luigi had his green overalls while Kairi still had her dress and red bolero jacket. Kairi looked over to Sora and she giggled.
"You're kinda cute as a frog, Sora," Kairi complemented.
"Thanks Kairi. And you make a cute penguin," Sora said.
"I wonder if you would turn into a prince after I kiss you," Kairi said.
"Well, only one way to find out," Sora said. They were about to kiss each other when Meowth interrupted the moment.
"Can we save the romance after the mission?" Meowth asked.
"Way to ruin the moment, Meowth," Sora deadpanned. Pikachu and Angel glared right at Meowth again.
"Hey, don't blame me," Meowth said. "Anyway, how would we go through the water?"
"I'll be able to help you out," a new voice said. The voice belonged to a dinosaur-like creature that resembles a nothosaur. He shares design shares some features with the design of the Yoshis, such as the bipedal posture with short legs, the white soft tissue that spans the lower part of the body, big oval eyes pointing forward which feature a white sclera, the nostrils being hosted near the top of a round protruding end of the upper part of the muzzle, and a crest on the back of the head. "I can help get you to Yoshi's Island from here."
"Plessie!" Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi said.
"Thanks," Meowth said.
"How do you know we're going there?" Kairi asked.
"Toadsworth called me up and told me you were heading there. So, I thought I come on by and lend a flipper to give you little guys a ride," Plessie said.
"Say, Plessie, isn't it? You wouldn't know a thing about a couple of sea monsters, do you?" Sora asked.
"Not any I've seen. But I saw what looks like a manta ray and a blowfish just yesterday. When I say them, they attacked a couple of sharks and Spiny Cheep-Cheeps that attacked them," Plessie said.
"Spiny Cheep-Cheeps?" Sora asked.
"You wouldn't know what Cheep-Cheeps are. The Cheep-Cheep is a fish that can only be found in this world. They live in the oceans, lakes, and rivers all over. Spiny Cheep-Cheeps are a prickly kind of Cheep-Cheep. There are different kinds all over," Yoshi explained.
"I think I had that part figured out. Anyway, let's get the show on the road, or in this case the sea," Sora said. Sora and Mario hopped in the water as Kairi and Luigi dove in like the penguins they resemble. Plessie flotaed on the ocean's surface as Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Yoshi rode on the sea dinosaur's back. The couple and the plumbers swam through the water. Sora couldn't believe he could swim through the water with ease. He knew it was becuase of the Frog Suit he was wearing. Kairi was also amazed by how she swam. A small band of penguisn were swimming by when she swam by them. They froze in place and were captivated by her beauty.
"Who is that?!" One of the penguins exclaimed.
"I don't know. But I know one thing: she's cute!" Another penguin said.
"Sure is," another penguin agreed. The penguins started to swim right towards Kairi and Luigi. The penguins bumped Luigi to the side. "Hey there, good-looking."
"Um, hi," Kairi greeted back.
"What's a cute penguin like you doing in an ocean like this?" The first penguin asked.
"Um, just swimming by," Kairi said.
"Can we join you?" The third penguin asked.
"And maybe, we can go out for a snowcone," the second penguin offered.
"Or maybe go have a fish burger," the fourth penguin said. Kairi almost threw up in her mouth to the idea of a fish burger, but the snowcone was a nice offer.
"No thank you. I'm just on an important mission, right now," Kairi said.
"Ooh, I like a girl with secrets," the third pengiuin flirted.
"So, what secret mission are you on?" the fifth penguin asked.
"Well, just heading for Yoshi's Island," Kairi said.
"Yoshi's Island? Can we come along?" The first penguin asked. Suddenly, a shark comes at makes the penguins scatter. The shark comes back at them. Luigi threw a snowball at the shark and froze it.
"I didn't think penguin suits could do that," Kairi said.
"I didn't get a chance to explain the Penguin Suits. You can throw snowballs at any attacker," Luigi explained.
"Good to know," Kairi said. A few more sharks started to swim right towards them. Kairi threw a snowball right at one of the sharks as Luigi threw another snowball and froze another. Just then, a large purple Cheep-Cheeps with big pink lips and a single tooth heading right for Sora and Mario, thinking they were real frogs. Mantine then firess Bubble Beam right at the large Cheep-Cheep (Cheep-Chomp). Sora and Mario turned to see Mantine swimming through the ocean depths.
"Mantine?" Sora asked.
"A Pokémon from-a your world?" Mario asked.
"Yeah. I'm going to guess it came from a dimensional rift like we did," Sora said. Over to Kairi and Luigi, Qwilfish fired Poison Sting at the sharks, making them retreat. Kairi and Luigi sees the blowfish-like Pokémon.
"A Qwilfish?" Kairi asked.
"A Pokémon, right?" Luigi asked.
"Yeah. Another Pokémon lost in the multiverse," Kairi said.
Sora, Kairi, the Mario Brothers, and the Pokémon raised up to the surface to see Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Plessie.
"What happened down there?" Plessie asked.
"We found the strange creatures you were talking," Sora said. "These two helped us out down there."
"Those sharks thought they were looking for an easy meal," Kairi said. She turned to Mantine and Qwilfish. "We're glad that you came along."
"Mantine, tine, tine, Man, Mantine, Man," Mantine said.
"Mewoth, translate please," Kairi said.
"Mantine is saying that you're lucky he and Qwilfish were around to save you," Meowth translated.
"Qwilfish, fish, fish, Qwilfish," Qwilfish said.
"Also, the characters around her had been giving them a hard time since they got here," Meowth translated.
"How about we can help you out by getting you away from this problem?" Kairi suggested.
"Tine?" Mantine asked.
"Qwil," Qwilfish said.
"I can take care of the both of you," Kairi said. "Promise." Mantine and Qwilfish were skeptical at first, but they had to consider it. Kairi took out two Pokéballs and tossed them up. Mantine and Qwilfish jumped and they flowed right inside the Pokéballs. Stars swirls around the Pokéballs to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box activates and it asks her if she wants to keep Mantine and Qwilfish with her. She chose to send them back to Professor Oak's lab. "Welcome to the team, Mantine and Qwilfish." Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, and Yoshi headed for Yoshi's Island. They made their way on the beach on the Yoshi's Island.
"Here you go, guys. Don't any of you be strangers now," Plessie said.
"Thanks Plessie," Mario said.
"Anytime, Mario. Good luck to all of you," Plessie said. Plessie waved goodbye as he jumped back in the water and swam in the ocean. Sora, Kairi, Mario, and Luigi removed their suits as they headed right into the island. They came across the Yoshis in their home, seeing them in different colors. A red Yoshi spots them.
"Mario, Luigi, Yoshi! Good thing you came!" The red Yoshi said.
"Sure thing. What's going on?" Yoshi asked.
"Bowser's minions has taken up refuge here on the island just weeks ago," the red Yoshi said.
"Yep, that confirms it," Sora said.
"You didn't see anything out of the ordinary, did you?" Luigi asked.
"Apart from the Koopa Troopas, Shy Guys, and other baddies going around the island," the pink Yoshi said.
"Along with some other weirdos coming in from time to time," the blue Yoshi added.
"We knew something was up when we first saw them. Boshi went to the fort just a couple of days ago and didn't come back," the yellow Yoshi said.
"What?! Boshi's gone?! No way!" Yoshi exclaimed.
"Mama mia!" Mario said.
Who's Boshi?" Kairi asked.
"A Yoshi just we are. He's bit of a jerk," Yoshi said.
"A bit? More like a lot," the orange Yoshi said.
"Even though none of likes him, but he doesn't deserve this," the cyan Yoshi said.
"But he's the only one who thinks he has a chance of chasing those Koopas off our island, just like Bowser has a chance to finally win over Mario," the purple Yoshi said.
"I know the feeling," Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Anyway, Bowser has been working with other villains and we met Risky Boots when we were caught by her and some pirate rats," Kairi said.
"I remember that. Not one of my favorite things to remember," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"If-a Bowser is on the island, maybe we can learn-a things about the Brotherhood of Darkness," Mario said.
"Mario's right. This is a clue that we need," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, and Yoshi followed the other Yoshis to where Boshi had gone to.
Elsewhere in the Mushroom Kingdom, the Hooligans and the Destructix have entered through a dimensional rift as the two teams have spit up. They spent some time on N. Sanity Island. The Hooligans went off to hunt for Sora as the Destructix went to find Sonic.
"Okay, Hooligans, let's get to hunting," Fang said.
"Like the plan," Bean said. Bark nodded in agreement. "Let's do this!" The Hooligans rode off to search for their target.
Over to the fortress, Serges, Agile, and Violen inspected the fortress and saw the place was impressive in their own way.
"Good work," Violen said.
"But in their own way," Serges said.
"Agreed. Sigma was right to form an alliance with the Koopas. It is only a matter of time before the boy we were told about would show up," Agile said.
"Yes. From what we heard, he would show up whenever there is trouble," Serges said.
"Can't wait to crush him like a ripe grape," Violen said.
"No, you brute, we need him alive," Agile said.
"Well, take him alive if you want, but I want to use him as a punching bag!" Violen said.
"Do so, then I will melt you down after taking you apart," Serges said.
"I would like to see you try, hunchback!" Violen said.
"Enough! Arguing about it isn't solving anything," Agile said.
"Agile is right. We must focus our efforts on our enemies, not each other," Serges stated. "And if X is with him, we can capture him as well."
"Excellent," Agile said.
Over to Komala, the koala-like Pokémon lulls around in its sleep and passed by the Goombas, Galoombas, and Rexes and right inside the fortress. Komala slept soundly, undisturbed by the Koopa Troop soldiers.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, and Yoshi caught up with the other Yoshis to the grounds of the fortress and saw how secured it is.
"Man, this place looks secured," Sora said.
"And I thought Wart's forces had tight security. And some of the heists I used to be a part were even tighter," Meowth said.
"Meowth does have a point. We should make contact back home," Kairi suggested.
"We could use either Sly or Espio on this," Luigi said.
"I was gonna suggest that anyway," Sora said. He turned on his communicator and reached Alia. "Hey Alia, we got ourselves quite a situation here."
"What kind of situation are you having, Sora?" Alia asked.
"Okay, for starters, Bowser has set up a fortress on Yoshi's Island and the place is crawling with some of Bowser's goons. So, we're going to need either Espio or Sly to give us a hand since they're pretty stealthy," Sora said.
"Espio along with the rest of Team Choatix are unavailable since they're helping out Kairi's dad, but Sly and the rest of the Cooper Gang are available," Alia said.
"That works out perfectly. We could use their help," Sora said.
"Just hang tight, Sora. I'll send him right over as soon as I can. Until then, don't move and draw attention to yourselves," Alia said.
"Right. We're waiting right now," Sora said. Alia cuts contact with the pink Reploid and waited for the Cooper Gang to show up. After waiting a few minutes, the Cooper Van drove in with Bentley the Turtle behind the wheel. The Cooper Gang are joined by Carmelita, Layer, Pallette, the Colonel, and Dingodile. "Carmelita, Layer, Pallette, and Dingodile? What are you doing here?"
"I'm just keeping an eye on those three," Carmelita said.
"I was taking a little nap in here," Dingodile said.
"I needed to go and stretch my legs in another universe. Also, Iris said I was getting rusty," Colonel said.
"Pallette and I wanted to get some action," Layer said as Pallette scoffed.
"You were trying to get distracted from seeing Zero and Iris getting all love-dovey!" Pallette laughed. Colonel rolled his eyes when the youngest navigator mentioned his sister's relationship with Zero.
"Must you mention that?" Colonel deadpanned.
"If we're done wasting time, we have a job to do. We should commence with Operation: Koopa Fortress Infiltration," Bentley said.
"Operation: Koopa Fortress Infiltration?" Mario asked. The red clad plumber turned to the raccoon.
"Don't ask me, Mario. Bentley just come up with the plan," Sly said.
"Bentley always comes with the best strategies," Murray said. "Sometimes, they're pretty scary."
"And they do end up on my radar; most of the time," Carmelita said.
"So, what's the plan, Poindexter?" Meowth asked.
"We're going to need to find another way inside the place. There should be somewhere that is less populated by all those guards," Bentley said.
"No good, because there isn't a place that isn't less populated. There were some other creature that tried, but ended up getting caught," the red Yoshi said.
"Okay, new plan. We'll have to try a disguise. Make them think that we're one of them to gain their trust," Bentley said.
"I think I have an Idea. Remember when we disguised ourselves as Shy Guys in Subon? Maybe we can try that on them," Sora suggested.
"Playing Dress up again?" Kairi asked.
"It's risky, but it's worth a shot. We just need some Shy Guy robes and masks to fool them," Luigi said.
"Leave that to me. I can sneak around and swipe them when the guards aren't looking," Sly said.
"I'm no thief or anything, but it takes just one of them to sound the alarm," Pallette said.
"And they'll know we're here," Yoshi said.
"You have no idea how often I worry about that," Bentley said.
"You're going to need a shadow, so I'll tag along, just to make sure nothing goes wrong," Carmelita said.
"Also, there could be a Pokémon inside taken hostage, so we should be keeping our eyes open for one just in case," Kairi said.
"She's right. We'll never know if there's a Pokémon in trouble," Sora agreed.
"Okay, begin with Operation: Koopa Fortress Infiltration!" Bentley said. Sly and Carmelita headed off to the fortress to begin their mission. The fox and raccoon looked around to see any guards around. A Dino-Rhino comes stomping by sniffing around. A couple of Rexes were patrolling the area for the same purpose.
"Wait here. I'll go on ahead," Sly said.
"Why do you get to go first?" Carmelita asked.
"Because I'm stealthier than you are. Also, unless you have a silencer on that, the sound of your gun will only give us away. And you have a pretty good aim," Sly said.
"Right on the money, ring tail. And I do have a silencer on it. I just need to put it on. If any comes too close, I'll put them out," Carmelita said. Sly always knew Carmelita has a decent shot. He experienced it first-hand when she tried to nab him when trying to capture the Cooper Gang when they were stealing back the Thievius Raccoonus from the Fiendish Five and recover the Clockwerk parts from the Klaww Gang. Sly started to make his way to the Shy Guy robes. The raccoon snuck pass some sleeping Galoombas, being careful not to wake them up.
"Hey! You!" A voice called out. Sly hid behind a block to keep himself being caught. He poked his head out to see a Koopa Troopa with a red shell. The two Galoombas wakes up from their sleep. "No sleeping on the job!" Sly got lucky that time and he proceeded. He headed for the robes and manages to nab enought for everyone. He quickly puts one on and casually walks on by. It wasn't easy keeping his tail tucked in, but he was no stranger to a challenge. Carmelita placed a Shy Guy robe and placed it on.
"Too close for comfort," Sly said.
"We're not out of the woods yet," Carmelita said. They kept their cool and headed to where the others are. By the time they reached the others, Sora and Colonel were playing tic-tac-toe game in the dirt with Sora winning some as the o and colonel as the x.
"Suit up, everyone," Sly said. They all wore the Shy Guy disguises to infiltrate the fortress. Dingodile, Colonel, and Murray would have given themselves away, but the Mario Brothers assured them they would pass themselves off as big Shy Guys. Yoshi turned to the other Yoshis.
"You guys stay here and keep out of sight," Yoshi said. The other Yoshis understood and waited for their friends to come back safely.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, Yoshi, the Cooper Gang, Carmelita, Dingodile, Colonel, Layer, and Pallette headed inside while disguised as Shy Guys. A blue Shy Guy turned to the fake Shy Guys and pointed to the biggest ones.
"You three, I'm going to need a hand with these cannons," the blue Shy Guy said. Colonel, Dingodile, and Murray went for the cannons to pull the cannons. The cannons had skulls on the side. The large cannons took several Shy Guys to pull the larger ones.
The rest kept up going for the fortress, getting pass the Koopa Troop soldiers. Pallette bumped into a Sledge Bro.
"Hey, watch you're going!" The Sledge Bro exclaimed.
"Um, sorry?" Pallette asked. Layer went up to her.
"This one's new," Layer said.
"Don't make a habit out of it," the Sledge Bro said.
The group continued then they entered the inside of the fortress. It has a similar design as Bowser's castle, but only without the hot lava boiling about.
"Okay, we're in. Most of us anyway," Sly said.
"Colonel, Murray, and Dingodile will be fine, just as long nothing happens and none of them blows their cover," Sora said.
"Sora's right, Sly. I'm sure Colonel will think of something," Luigi said.
Over to Colonel, Dingodile, and Murray, they got finished pulling the cannons. They saluted to the other Shy Guys to avoid suspicions.
"Oi, how about them, Yoshis?" Dingodile asked.
"What about them?" A green Shy Guy asked.
"Never mind him. He's just thinking out loud," Colonel said.
"He does that," Murray said.
"Right," Dingodile said.
"Just don't let the Koopalings hear you. After that one Yoshi that thought he was tough. Good thing we caught him though," the green Shy Guy said.
"Say, you wouldn't know anything out of the ordinary by chance, would you?" Colonel asked.
"Not really. Just the usual jobs for our friends from across the worlds. I tell you, those Mavericks are the only things out of the ordinary. Long as they're on our side, who cares?" The green Shy Guy said.
"Mavericks?" Colonel asked, almost giving themselves away.
"Yeah, three of 'em. They're arrived earlier today. Those guys freak me out, but I don't let it bother me too much," the green Shy Guy said. Murray's stomach starts growling.
"Oh man," Murray said.
"What's the matter with you, Murray?" Colonel asked.
"I'm starving. I gotta have something to eat," Murray said. Dingodile pulled out a bag of jelly beans.
"Here you go, mate. Some nice jelly beans I got from Pinkie Pie," Dingodile said.
"Yum, yum," Murray said as he happily ate the jelly beans as he lifted the mask. "Good jelly beans."
Colonel kept a lookout for someone as a Spike comes by. Colonel quickly places the mask over the pink hippo's face.
"Hey, what are you three doing?" The Spike asked.
"Um, just taking a snack break?" Murray responded.
"What are you doing eating on the job when we got work to do! Head on inside and clean the toilets! And do it with this toothbrush," the Spike said, holding out a toothbrush. Colonel takes it as the Spike took the jelly beans from Murray. Murray wanted to pund the Spike into mush when Dingodile held him.
"Easy, my pink chum. He ain't worth it," Dingodile said.
"He's right. We don't want to give ourselves away," Colonel said. They all went inside the fortress to find Sora and the others. Once inside, they went on forward as the loudspeakers starts going off.
"Attention all soldiers of the Koopa Troop, this is Larry Koopa, of the seven Koopalings. I just want to say you are all doing a good job at keeping the fortress secured. The only thing I can't turn a blind eye on is the fact there was a Yoshi who thought he was going to win against us. That only happened because you didn't do your jobs right, but we can't take all the blame; no wait, yes you can. So, from no on, keep your eyes peeled and catch any intruders as soon as you see them; lock them up and throw away the key! And if you happen to see a kid with brown spiky hair and a yellow rat, bring them straight to me or Iggy. Also, the X-Hunters have graciously come on by to have a look at our fortress, so treat them with the same respect you would give King Bowser. That is all for right now," Larry announced over the speakers. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, Yoshi, Sly, Bentley, Carmelita, Layer, and Pallette were listening to the announcement as well.
"X-Hunters?" Sora asked.
"A team of Mavericks under Sigma's command. I just Sigma's not here too," Layer said.
"He hasn't mentioned him, but I can bet my cane he's probably here," Sly said.
"Him and Bowser," Mario said.
"Okay, let's find Boshi and the Pokémon if there is one in here. And plow this fortress to the ground while we're at it," Sora said.
Everyone agreed and headed deeper in the fortress to find Boshi. Over to Colonel, Dingodile, and Murray, they were also listening to the announcement.
"X-Hunters, here? My fears have been realized," Colonel said.
"This can't be good," Murray said
"I'm with him. Things have gotten twice as hard from here on out," Dingodile said.
"Then, we will go in twice as hard," Colonel said. The three false Shy Guys ventured through the fortress as a squad of Goombas were patrolling the halls. The Goombas passes by them. They kept on going through the fortress.
Over to the Hooligans, they arrived to the fortress, alarming the Koopa Troop soldiers. They launched their attack on the bounty hunters. They fired Bullet Bills and cannonballs at the bounty hunters and they avoid them. Fang jumps off and fires at the Bullet Bills, making them lose their projection. Bean threw his bombs as Bark jumped off his and fought off the guards.
Unaware of the choas going on, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, Yoshi, Layer, Pallette, Sly, Bentley, and Carmelita made it further in the fortress. They made their way to the dungeon and found Boshi in one of the cells.
"What do you freaks want now?" Boshi barked.
"Easy, we're on your side," Yoshi said, slipping off his disguise.
"Yoshi! Thought you ran away and not bothered coming back!" Boshi said.
"Nice to see you too, Boshi," Yoshi deadpanned. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, Yoshi, Layer, Pallette, Sly, Bentley, and Carmelita took off their disguises.
"Mario and Luigi too?" Boshi asked. "Being rescued by you fuzzy lips is pretty humiliating."
"And being caught by Koopas and Goombas isn't?" Sora asked. "We're here to get you out of there."
"Fat chance. Those guards has the key to the cell. One of those Rexes is holding onto it," Boshi said.
"Rexes?" Sora asked.
"They're dinos that look like us Yoshi's, but with horns and wings. We passed by some when we were sneaking around," Yoshi said.
"Right," Sora said.
"I can sneak up behind one and swipe the key from one," Sly said.
"Hold that thought," Meowth said, using his claw instead. The lock unlocks and the cell opens.
"That works too," Bentley said.
"It comes in handy when you were with a criminal organization for years," Meowth said.
"Gotta hand it to you, Meowth. Your claws would definitely come in handy," Sly complimented. Meowth smiled right at him.
"Thanks Sly," Meowth said.
"We should find Dingodile, Colonel, and Murray," Kairi said.
"And-a hope they're okay," Mario said.
"Colonel is more than capable to fend for himself," Layer said.
"Also, Murray is no stranger in a fight. He is our muscle," Bentley said.
Over to Colonel, Dingodile, and Murray, they continued to venture through with their disguises when they come across a large Piranha Plant with a ring of petals on his head. He has a green body with leafy arms, stubby legs, green lips, and wore red pants with white polka dots. The trio accidentally ram into him and their masks come right off. The large Piranha Plant sees the trio as Murray grins sheepishly.
"RAGH!" The large Piranha Plant roars at them. Seeing their cover is blown, they took off their disguises and prepared to fight. The large Piranha Plant fires some brown goop at Colonel and Dingodile.
"That's disgusting," Colonel said.
"So, gross," Dingodile added.
"You have covered by comrades with your disgusting and yucky slop! The Murray will take you on!" Murray said.
"Murray, you sure you want to do this?" Colonel asked.
"I am more than capable, my military chum! No one does that to my friends and gets away with it!" Murray said.
"That is one brave hippo," Dingodile said.
"Agreed. Come, Dingodile. The others await for us," Colonel said. Colonel and Dingodile head off to find Sora and the others. Speaking of which, the group went in deep in the fortress to find a Pokémon in the fortress. Boshi with them since he owes them some payback. Just then, a horde of Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Spinies, Lakitus Buzzy Beetles, Rexes, Dino-Torches, Dino-Rhinos, Hammer Bros, Fire Bros, Boomerang Bros, Ice Bros, Shy Guys, and Snifits stood before them. Sora and Kairi took out their Pokéballs and tossed them.
"Yamper, Ekans, Koffing, Sizzlipede, Medicham! Go!" Sora called out.
"Magby, Elekid, Smoochum, Kingdra, Pincurchin! Go!" Kairi called out.
The Pokémon came out of their Pokéballs to battle the Koopa Troop. Mario and Luigi took out some Fire Flowers as Yoshi got ready to fight as well. Sly, Carmelita, Bentley, Layer and Pallette were ready to have a go.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt! Yamper, use Thunder Fang! Sizzlipede! Use Flame Wheel! Koffing! Gyro Ball! Ekans! Crunch! Medicham! High Jump Kick!" Sora ordered.
"Angel! Swift! Elekid! Thunder! Magby! Flamethrower! Smoochum! Blizzard! Kingdra! Twister! Pincurchin! Use Discharge!" Kairi ordered.
All of the Pokémon attacked the goons as Meowth joined in by scratching some of them in the face. Mario and Luigi used the Fire Flowers and their shirts turned white and their overalls turned red and green. The Mario Brothers threw fireballs at the enemies as Yoshi slurped the Buzzy Beetles and spat them out as fast as he could. Layer swiped at the enemies as Pallette fired her as Sly smacked them with his cane. Bentley fires from his technological wheelchair and Carmelita fired her pistol at them. Sora and Kairi were given Fire Flowers as well and joined in on the fire fight. Sora's clothes turned white and his shoes turned red as he threw fireballs at them. Kairi's jacket turned white and her dress turned red and she fired fired fireballs along with her boyfriend. Boshi gave some beatings to the enemies as they they were coming. Colonel and Dingodile turned the tables as they joined in.
"Here comes the calvary!" Colonel said. He jumps into the air with his laser sword. "Ground Crush!" Colonel slams his laser sword, unleashing a massive pink energy wave. Seeing how it was a losing fight, the army started to retreat.
Outside, the soldiers were in a losing fight as well. Many of them were beaten by the bounty hunters. They started to retreat. The soldiers inside started to run away as well.
"That was unexpected," Bean said.
"Who cares about them? He has to be inside of there," Fang said. Bark nodded with agreement.
"Right. Job to do!" Bean said.
The Hooligans went in the fortress to bring in Sora. Over to Murray, the two stare at each other like two cowboys in the old west, waiting for the other one to make a move.
"The Murray would like to know the name of the festering weed on who shall swallow his teeth when I am finished!" Murray said. The Piranha Plant fires the brown goop to the wall, spelling out two words. The words reads "Petey Piranha" on the wall. "Petey Piranha?" Petey nodded. "Very well, Petey Piranha! The Murray shall plow you in the dirt after making you swallow your teeth! Evildoers beware the wrath of justice!"
"Ragh!" Petey roared as he flapped his leaves like wings and flew to slam into the hippo. He avoids him by rolling to the right, and then he comes right at the Piranha Plant and lands a punch. Petey attempts to bite the hippo, but he grabs the head of the mutant Piranha Plant and holds him tight. Murray spins him around and around and tossed him aside.
"Thunder Flop!" Murray shouted. Murray jumps and lands right on Petey. "Once again, evil has fallen victim to the Thunder Flop!" He bangs his chest like Tarzan and lets out a hippo's bellow. Petey gets back up, but falls flat on his stomach. "Now to join my chums!" Murray rushes to join the others. A laser fires right in front of Murray.
"Not so fast, fatso!" Fang called out. The Hooligans rushed right in front of him. "Where's the kid?"
"I don't know who you are, but the Murray will not allow you to interfere with our mission!" Murray said. Bark cracked his knuckles, ready for a challenge.
"I think Bark smells a challenge," Bean said.
"Bark, take this hippo out. Bean and I will press on ahead," Fang said. Bark nodded as he gestured to the hippopotamus.
"The Murray accepts your challenge, silent-type guy!" Murray said. "I will floss my teeth with your spine!" Murray and Bark start coming at each other as fists were flying at one another.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Mario Brothers, Yoshi, Layer, Pallette, Colonel, Sly, Bentley, Carmelita, Boshi, and the other Pokémon, they went down forward in the fortress only to be greeted by Larry, Iggy, and the X-Hunters.
"We knew you'd show up," Agile said.
"And you didn't disappoint us," Larry said.
"We weren't expecting the Colonel of the Repliforce to be your alley," Serges said.
"It's your worse nightmare come true, you filthy Maverick!" Colonel said.
"Why don't you come on over here and we'll crush you all?" Violen asked.
"And take you, spikey-head! Bowser Jr. has a score to settle with you!" Iggy said.
"We're not-a gonna let-a you do-a that, Iggy! Just-a give up!" Mario said.
"That's right!" Yoshi said.
"I have a score to settle with ya!" Boshi said.
"Nothing to settle. We're going to win this time!" Larry said. He and Iggy took out their magic wands and swung them. Agile took out a laser sword and started to charge in. Colonel blocks with his weapon as Layer joined in. Sly, Bentley, Carmelita, Dingodile and Pallette dealt with Serges and Violen. The Mario Brothers, Yoshi, Boshi, and the Pokémon set their attentions on the two Koopalings. Fang and Bean join in the fight.
"Room for two more!" Bean said, taking out a bomb.
"Fang and Bean?!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Bounty's ours!" Fang barked. He fired his laser at Serges. The hunchbacked Maverck threw off his cape and prepared for battle.
Over to Murray and Bark, the hippo and polar bear duked it out with one another as they gave one punch to the other, not letting up. Bark was impressed by the persistence of the pink hippo, but Bark wasn't going to call it quits and he wasn't going to let him stand in the way. Bark gave Murray one left hook in the jaw and fell on his side.
"I refuse to be beaten by the likes you, bad guy," Murray said, slowly getting back up. "The Murray won't allow himself to be defeated by evil!" Bark growled and came at him. Murray grabbed the polar bear by his arm and tossed him over. "You don't talk much, do you?" Bark shook his head. He got back up on his feet and headed for Murray again. Bark prepared for a punch as did Murray. Both landed a punch onto each other. Both fell to the ground and panted hard to the hard fight they both had. They slowly sit up and look at each other. "I gotta tell you, you really pack a mean punch for a bad guy." Bark only gave a thumbs up to compliment his opponent as he smiled. Murray smiled right back at him. "If ever want to go another round, just let me know." Bark slowly stood up and helped Murray on his feet and nodded. Murray knew he found himself a new rival. Bark promised that the results will be different the next time they meet. Murray went off to find the others. One the way over, he spotted Komala sleeping soundly. "Hey there. You okay?" Komala sleeps soundly as Murray picks it up. "You lost, little koala? It's not safe here, so I'll take you with me." Murray tried to take the log, but Komala refused to let go. "If want to keep it, then it's fine with me. Come on." Murray and Komala went off to join the others.
Over to the battle, the three groups were fighting fiercely as Fang attempted to grab Sora, but Pikachu used Iron Tail on the purple weasel.
"Shouldn't have gotten in the way, you yellow rodent! " Fang stated. He points his gun at Pikachu, only for Meowth to swipe at Fang.
"Keep your gun to yourself!" Meowth exclaimed.
"I'm going to skin you alive, cat," Fang said. Yamper bit Fang on the bite. "YEOW!" Fang tried to shake Yamper off of his tail, but Yamper refused to let go. Fang was about to shoot Yamper off when Medicham used Psyhic to take the gun from his hand. Bean saw the puppy Pokémon biting Fang's tail.
"Hold on, boss! I'll help you!" Bean said, as Sizzlipede gave a Bug Bite onto Fang "Ouch! No biting!"
Colonel and Layer clashed their swords with Agile's as he pushes back. Pallette fires at Violen as he swings his mace around. Serges fires out blue streams of energy at his opponents when Dingodile slipped Serges over the side, allowing Carmelita to give him a paralyzing shot. Larry and Iggy swings their magic as Mario rode on Yoshi's back to avoid their magic attack. Boshi rammed right into Iggy as Sora and Kairi grabbed him.
"We got ya!" Sora said.
"Let me go!" Larry shouted.
Iggy tries to save Larry when Mario and Luigi stopped him from doing so. Bentley activates his wheelchair's mechanics and fires missiles at the Maverick trio.
"OW!" Violen yelled.
Sly smacks Serges with his cane. The Mavericks were in a losing battle, they entered though a dimensional rift. Larry and Iggy escaped their captives and jumped right in after. Fang and Bean were tossed to the side by Yamper and Sizzlipede.
"You win this time, kid! But there'll be another day!" Fang yelled as he and Bean had fled. Murray had finally shown up.
"Is the party over all ready?" Murray asked.
"Sorry, big guy. The bad guys got away," Meowth said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Too bad, but you should see what I found," Murray said, holding up Komala. Sora and Kairi recognized the sleeping Pokémon being held by the pink hippo.
"A Komala? Where did you find her?" Kairi asked.
"Found it in the fortress. It was just sleeping like nothing's wrong," Murray said.
"At least we now there was one here," Meowth said.
"So, now what?" Pallette asked.
"I know," Kairi said, taking out a Pokéball. She held in front of Komala. "How would like to come back with us, Komala? I promise to take care of you." Komala lulled in Murray's arms and pressed the button on the Pokéball and flowed inside. Stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box activates and it asks her if she wants to keep Komala with her. She chose to send Komala back to Professor Oak's lab. With the mission accomplished, the first thing they did was bring the fortress down by using a power block on it. The fortress collapses, freeing Yoshi's Island from Bowser's grip.
"Bowser and Sigma weren't here, but at least everything's okay," Luigi said.
"For now," Colonel added.
"At least we got three new Pokémon saved," Meowth said.
"We should head-a back to the castle and let Toadsworth know about this," Mario said.
"Yeah, we should," Sora said. He turned to the other Yoshis. "You guys think you can manage from here?"
"Sure can," the red Yoshi said.
"And if anything happens, we'll let you know," the yellow Yoshi said.
Yoshi said his goodbyes to the other Yoshis as they did the same thing. Everyone boarded the Cooper van as Murray drove off. Colonel was given shotgun as they drove off back to Peachs castle. Sora and Kairi were amazed that it can be used as a boat to get across the ocean, it was no wonder they get around their world. Once arriving back to the castle, Mario filled the elderly Toad in the events going on Yoshi's Island.
"My, my, that is quite a tale. I am not surprised to hear Bowser was behind it again," Toadsworth said.
"We manged to shut them down, but we know this won't be the last we see of them," Layer said.
"I supposed you will be heading back?" Toadsworth asked.
"Yeah, to plan our next move," Sora said.
"I am looking forward for your return," Toadsworth said.
"But would it be okay if we dropped by for a visit?" Sora asked.
"Of course. You are welcome here anytime," Toadsworth said.
With that said, Sora made contact with Alia and the dimensional rift opens. The group enters on through the dimensional rift.
Over to the Brotherhood of Darkness, Larry, Iggy, and the X-Hunters came to report their failures.
"So, our fortress on Yoshi's Island has been blown up?!" Bowser exclaimed.
"Yes," Larry said.
"Wasnt our fault. It was the hired help," Iggy said.
"Things would have gone down smoother if they did it right," Larry said.
"And the boy has escaped our reach again," Serges said.
"We'll try again later. Just get some rest for now," Sigma said. The two Koopalings and the X-Hunters obeyed and headed off to relax. They saw it as a minor setback, but they still had other places.
Back in Pallet Town, Iris was in a frantic fit when she saw her brother with some injuries. He assured the female Reploid that it was just a scratch, but she wasn't buying it.
"Iris, please, this isn't necessary," Colonel said.
"Sorry, but it's very necessary. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened while you're out there!" Iris said.
"Nothing's going to happen, Iris," Colonel assured his sister.
"That's what they say at first, and then, something happens," Iris said. Colonel didn't like to argue with his siter, but he could see how stern she was being and caved in. He couldn't help but wonder if Zero caved in as well.
Over in Professor Oak's lab, Mantine and Qwilfish were happy in their new home along with Komala, speaking of which, Komala was sleeping like nothing happened. And that'll be all for now.
