Kestrelpaw stared up into Sunleap's cold and emotionless amber gaze, as the rest of the Clan stood horror-struck, watching with wide-eyed gazes, as they all stared at Cinderfrost. "W-Wait what? B-But why?" Stormpaw managed to squeak, as she looked at all of the gathered cats in the clearing. "You heard me!" The BreezeClan deputy snapped, "You and Springlight are here by exiled from BreezeClan." Sunleap hissed, narrowing her eyes and lashing her tail. "B-But why? Did Rosestar-" but Kestrelpaw was cut off by Sunleap, who hissed angrily at her.

"Shut it! Who care's what Rosestar says, I'm the deputy, and Rosestar isn't here right now so I'm in charge!" Sunleap snapped, and Kestrelpaw lowered her gaze and stared down at her paws. She looked back up at the dark ginger she-cat with fearful amber eyes. "Sunleap, this is insane!" A yowl of outrage rang out through the crowd of gathered cats. "My daughter has done nothing wrong, what do you have against my kit?" Kestrelpaw's mother, a dark tortoiseshell she-cat with amber eyes that were blazing with hot and boiling anger, hissing angrily, her mother stocked up to Sunleap with an icy glair on her face and her fur bristling.

"Hold your tongue, Spottedfeather." Sunleap snarled, but there's no stopping an angry mother defending her kit, Kestrelpaw had been born with two littermates, Rainkit and Willowkit, but they both died from white cough, Kestrelpaw was the only one who survived. "Spottedfeather is right," Came another mew from the crowd. "What do you have against our daughter?" Kestrelpaw's father, Blackwing, yowled, narrowing his icy-blue eyes at Sunleap. Kestrelpaw's father was a large tom with jet black fur and icy-blue eyes.

"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU! KESTRELPAW, SPRINGLIGHT, YOU ARE BOTH EXILED FROM BREEZECLAN, NOW LEAVE AND NEVER RETURN!" Sunleap yowled, and Kestrelpaw looked to her mentor and with one last tearful glance to her parents, Kestrelpaw and Springlight fled, running out of BreezeClan's territory and deep into the forest.

"SPRINGLIGHT, KESTRELPAW, WAIT FOR US! WE WANT TO COME WITH YOU!" Kestrelpaw and Springlight spun around calmly to see her two best friends, Cinderpaw and Spottedpaw, followed closely by their mentors, Icecloud and Shadowtail. "What are you four mouse-brained cats doing?" Springlight hissed, lashing her tail and narrowing her eyes at the two young apprentices and the two older warriors. "We weren't just going to leave Kestrelpaw alone," Cinderpaw mewed, "And you're BreezeClan's only medicine cat. What in the name of StarClan was Sunleap thinking?" She paused to catch her breath, then she continued. "Rosestar lost her temper when she found out what happened, but Sunleap's two followers, Firesong and Mossflower, are like bowing at Sunleap's every command." Cinderpaw hissed, the dark gray she-cat was lashing her tail back and forth and her sky blue eyes were glowing with fury.

"Yeah, and we can't just let them go alone." Icecloud mewed, before continuing after a short pause, "We're their mentors after all." Icecloud said, and Shadowtail nodded in agreement with her friends statement. "Um... Spottedpaw? I wouldn't say that if I were you." Shadowtail hissed into her ear, Spottedpaw blinked in confusion and Shadowtail pointed with her tail behind her at two young cats. "We heard everything that you just said, Spottedpaw." Said a voice from behind the six cats. They all turned to see Firesong and Mossflower standing about a fox-length away from them. "And we don't follow her every command." Mossflower mewed, rolling her eyes and flicking her tail from side to side. "Yes you do!" Cinderpaw growled, narrowing her eyes at the two older cats. "And don't even try to deny it!" Cinderpaw snapped, hissing and flexing her claws.

"What other choice did we have?" Firesong mewed, then after taking a shaky breath, the russet colored she-cat continued. "She's a crazy cat who wants to lead our Clan into darkness and dispair." Firesong quietly mewed, looking down at her paws as Mossflower stared at us. "She's our mother," Mossflower mewed, she gave her paw a quick lick before she continued to speak, "But that doesn't mean we like her!" Mossflower hissed, lashing her tail and narrowing her icy blue eyes.

Firesong and Mossflower were young warriors, they had been given their warrior names a few quarter moons ago. Stormpaw looked over to her mentor, who sighed but nodded her head. "Very well, you two may come with us." Springlight mewed, nodding her head at both Firesong and Mossflower. "Where are we going, Springlight?" Cinderpaw asked, staring up at the former medicine cat of BreezeClan. "We're going to IceClan to see if they will help us," the dark tortoiseshell she-cat replied, and everyone nodded in agreement, and with that, the small group of cats slowly made there way to the borders of IceClan territory.
