WHOOOOO! JUST GOT MY SECOND VACCINE SHOT! IT HURT!
CHAPTER 4: Forged Edge
Bell walks into the kitchen.
"Sooo... Ready for your shift", Syr excitedly asked the nervous girl.
"I guess..."
"Good. Put this on", Syr brought out a green dress with white accents and a white apron. Bell looked at it nervously before being pushed into a sepparate room to change her clothes.
"It's a bit tight Syr-san...", Bell said as she strugled to put on the apron.
"Sorry, but that's all we have", Mia yelled.
Jeez...After strugling for a bit, Bell succeeded in putting on her uniform and walked out.
"You look so cute, nya!"
"You look so good", Syr said excitedly as she held her hands together.
"Please don't...", Bell said as she blusshed from emberassement.
"You'll be fine, now get over here and work", Mia yelled again.
"O-Ok!"
Bell walked and as she did, the people in the tavern shifted their view to her.
"Dude, are you seeing this?"
"She's so pretty!"
"Why don't you come over here girl!"
"Hooo! She's a beauty!"
Bell grabbed a few plates Mia had placed on the table and began serving the food. And after people left, more began to arrive.
"Hey Mia! Is the white beauty still here!"
"She sure is! Just no touching!"
Bell let out a yelp from hearing that and blushed.
"She's so cute", a woman yelled.
"Look at that rack!"
"I'm in love!"
"Hey! Can we get some drinks over here", a man yelled.
"C-Coming", Bell yelled nervously and grabbed the drinks that Mia helled out.
"And you're getting paid after this one", the woman said.
Bell walked over to the man and his friends. "So... You looking to join a familia? We're open. We're in the Loki familia ya' know..."
"N-No thanks, I'm already in a familia..."
"Oh really? Which one?"
"I bet she's in a big one, I mean look at her!"
"I'm actually from the Hestia familia-"
"Really? Ah man I can't believe it! Hahaa!"
"Seriously? You're in propably the worst familia-", the man was interupted when Bell slammed the mugs on their table and walked away.
"Any other orders", Bell asked Mia.
"Heh, sure. Here- Ya' go", Mia said as she lifted a bunch of plates.
"T-Thank you", Bell said nervously as she continued serving the customers. And as night began to fall, Bell was asked to do one more thing...
"W-What", Bell asked as a group of people came to the counter.
"You heard them", Mia said with her hands crossed her arms and smiled.
"Just do it once, please?"
"Syr, help me please-", Bell said before noticing that Syr had her hands in a knot and excitedly looking at Bell alongside some of the others. "F-Fine! B-But just this once!"
"Of course", the group of customers yelled together.
Bell brought her hands close to her face and...
"N-Nyan~", as she also used to imitate a cat using her hands.
And the group irrupted into cheer.
"She's so damn cute!"
"Adorable!"
"Whoooooo!"
Bell then covered her face as she was bright red and retreated back into the kitchen to change.
Whaaaa! Why me!After changing back into her normal clothes, she walked outside the tavern with a small bag of valis.
"Thanks for the help tonight Bell-chan", Mia yelled as she kept smiling.
"Have a good night", Syr yelled.
"You're welcome! Good night...", Bell yelled as she ran back to the church.
I'm so tired...And as she made it back, she collapsed on the couch, just taking off ALL of her clothes.
I'm so tired!And so she fell asleep faster than ever before.
The next morning...
Bell is walking towards the dungeon, a bit later than usually. When she heared a familiar voice.
"Good morning Bell-chan", it was the beastfolk girl she worked with last night.
"G-Good morning", Bell said as she waived her hello.
The girl placed a wallet in Bell's hands. "So I want you to give this to the airhead Syr, meow."
"Um... I'm sorry. I'm not sure I understand...", Bell said.
"Anya", the elf-woman Bell had worked with too, came to see the commotion, carrying laundry. "That's not a good enough explanation. Cranel-chan is confused", she said as she looked at Bell.
"You're so dumb, Ryuu", the catgirl replied. "She understood I want her to take Syr her wallet, which she forgot when she skipped out on her shift and went to Monsterphilia."
"That's the situation", Ryuu said she returned her attention to Bell.
"I see...", Bell said with a smile. "Syr, of course, did not skip out on her shift. She took a vacation day for the festival. She's propably in trouble without her wallet. Pleases help her, Cranel-chan."
"Please Bell-chan", the catgirl said as she jumped up.
"All right. Leave it to me. So um... What's Monsterphilia?"
"It's a massive festival held by the Ganesha Familia", the catgirl explained.
"They take over the arena for a full day, and tame monsters brought from the dungeon in front of the whole crowd", Ryuu explained.
"It's a really hardcore spectical, more or less", Anya continued explaining.
Somewhere else in the city...
"So what are you planning now? Did you take an interest in some familias child, again, and decided to go after them", Loki asked a cloaked figure, as Aiz stood by them silently. "Jeez... All you're doing is sowing the seeds of conflict, sex-obsessed goddess...", the figure only smiled, it was Freya. "So... Which is it this time?"
"A child so terribly forlorn, she would cry from the slightest provocation", Freya said. "But she was just so beautiful. Ethereal, almost. A collor I had never seen before... It was truly a councidence that I saw her."
In that moment, Aiz spotted Bells white hair streek by in the crowd.
"She just happened to wonder into my field of vision-", the woman continued, before standing up abruptly.
"What's wrong", Loki asked
"Sorry", the woman responded. "I have somewhere to be."
"Huh? You can't just-"
"Let's meet again later", Freya said before she walked away.
"What's her problem", Loki said quietly. "Wait! She left me with the bill too", Loki shouted before looking at Aiz. "What's wrong?"
Aiz quickly looked at Loki. "Nothing."
Meanwhile with Bell...
"Wow... It's just like they said...", she said as she looked at the hoard of people. "Looks like it'll be hard to find Syr-san...", Bell said with a tired expression.
"Bell-chan!"
Bell looked over to see Hestia, carying a small blue bag. "What are you doing here Goddess?"
"I guess I just missed you", Hestia said with a giddy smile.
"Oh, well I missed you too", Bell said nervously.
"I knew it! So... How have you been."
"Good, I even got a part-time job!"
"Whoa! Good job! To celabrate... Let's go to Monsterphilia, Bell-chan", Hestia shouted as she pulled on Bells arm.
"W-Wait, Goddess! I've been asked to find someone!"
"Oh, really? Well let's go look for them while we celabrate! Two birds with one stone!"
"N-No, I can't...", but Hestia just went to a stall.
"Two crepes sir!"
"Sure thing", the vendor said as he pour the dough on the stove.
"Goddess..."
A moment later, they (or Hestia to be precise) are enjoying their crepes on a hill. "Say, 'Aahh', Bell-chan!"
"G-Goddess, I couldn't...", Bell said as she tried to resist.
"What..? Don't you want your Goddess to feed you?"
"It's not that! I can't take food from you! Take mine instead", Bell said as she held out her crepe.
"You're running away, huh? Well that's okay", Hestia said before taking a bite from Bell's and leaving a bit of cream on her cheak.
"Um... Goddess...", Bell said as she pointed at the cream.
"Hey, hey! Clean it for me Bell-chan!"
"Well... Um... Okay...", she says as she cleared the cream and Hestia began humming and bouncing with glee.
Somewhere deep within the coloseum...
A guard is knocked out from... Pleasure? Oh no... And behind him laid others... It was Freya.
She walks past the caged of monsters. Before stoping at a white gorilla, partially covered in armor. "Oh my! You're perfect", she said before opening it's cage and touching it's cheek. "There, there... It's no good. I simply planned to watch her growth for a while, but...", she began glowing a pink glow.
Back outside...
"So you're looking for a work friend, huh...", Hestia said as she and Bell were eating meat beside a stall. "You really did make friends, Bell-chan..."
"It's not fair to think I can't make friends..."
Suddenly people start screaming, as a giant white gorilla in armor charges out the side of the coloseum.
"A monster!"
"A monster", Hestia said.
A monster...The monster then turned to look at Hestia and Bell. "B-B-Bell-chan, is it looking at me?"
Bell grabbed the goddess by the hand and pulled her asside before the gorilla jumped at them.
"Goddess! Why is the monster chasing after you", Bell asked. "Do you know him?"
"I've never met him!"
The two run through an alley into an area full of old buildings, Daedalus Street.
"So this is Daedalus Street...", Bell said, before seeing the monster climbing the buildings behind them and continuing to run and pull Hestia along. "We have to go!"
And so they run through the alleys of Daedulus, twisting and turning before running into an open space, where the gorilla lands. The two get knocked back from the ground breaking and wind blowing.
"Goddess", Bell shouts, seeing her fly to the other side of the open area. The monster looks at Bell, who just flashes back to the minotaur. And the monster turns to grab Hestia. I'm scared... I'm scared, but... I'm an adventurer! Go! Move, Bell thinks as she grips her fist. GO!! DON'T RUN AND LEAVE ANYONE BEHIND!Bell dashes, her white hair flowing in the wind, but as she attacks the monster, her sword shatters and the monster slamms her against the brick wall, breaking her armor heavily and making her nose bleed a bit.
"Bell-chan!"
And as the beast walks closer to her, she throws a torch at it's eyes, temporarily blinding it. And in that time, Bell dashes to grab Hestia and run.
It's no good... I'm not strong enough. At this rate, it'll just catch us again. What do I do?
They get to another open area where Bell sees a gated tunnel, she grabs Hestia and locks her in to it.
"Bell-chan!"
"I-I'm sorry Goddess... I'll buy you some time... You should run away...", Bell says as she faces away.
"What are you saying", Hestia shouts as she grabs onto the gate. "Open this door now!"
"Goddess... I won't lose anymore family...", she says as the monster roars nearby and runs towards it.
"Bell-chan! Bell-chan! Bell-chan!"
