Episode 314: A Knight's Tale
A few days came and went. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and their inter dimensional friends searched for anymore clues regarding to the Brotherhood of Darkness. Richter and Maria returned to their world to tell her sister Annette about the dangers in other worlds. She understood the situation and wished Richter and Maria luck. Shanoa reported to her order and they too understood the situation about the Brotherhood of Darkness. They searched in strange new worlds and so far, they found nothing. Dimitri even reported that the Mavericks stationed in Paris has vanished. It was very odd and disturbing. Several more days have passed and so far, they still came in empty.
"Man, finding their base is much harder than I thought," Sora groaned.
"It's not like they'll leave a sign out that says, 'secret bad guy lair, come on in' or anything," Meowth said.
"Meowth's right, Sora. There an infinite number of worlds. It could take us years to look through all of them," Kairi said.
"I know, but years is time we don't have, Kairi. They could be making their move at any moment," Sora said.
"You're right. But the least we can do is have faith. It's been on our side so far," Kairi said. Sora knew his girlfriend was right. He places his hand on hers.
"Thanks a lot, Kairi. I truly love you," Sora said.
"I know. Love you too," Kairi said. Sora and Kairi kissed each other again as Meowth just rolled his eyes. Pikachu and Angel watches with bliss as they held each other. The Mane Seven watched with bliss on their faces.
"So sweet," the Mane Seven all said as they gushed at the sight.
Elsewhere, in the kingdom of Gallowmere, we take a look into a town known as Gallows Town, the people all celebrate a hundred years of the legendary knight, Sir Daniel Fortesque.
In a time long ago there lived in the kingdom of Gallowmere a sorcerer named Zarok. This arrogant, pitiless man hated his fellow citizens for their simple and peaceful ways, so he raised an army of demons and set out to take the realm for his own.
The King's champion, Sir Daniel Fortesque, led the militia in the battle against this unholy horde. Songs are still sung of how he spearheaded the charge deep into the accused multitude, how demons fell before him like wheat before the scythe, and how at last though mortally wounded, he destroyed the sorcerer utterly.
Fortesque went down in history that day as the Hero of Gallowmere, and a time of peace began which was to last for a hundred years.
And then the sorcerer returned...
We see a gloomy sorcerer's castle, with crows flying around it. The scene changes from several of its rooms showing various ingenious magical devices and then descends into the basement, where we see the sorcerer Zarok himself. Zarok has pale grey/greenish skin and yellow eyes, and a somewhat feminine attire which consists of purple/red robes with gold highlights and a helmet with pointed "horns". He is rather thin, and he has two horns on each cheek. He has a horn on his chin. Zarok flips through the book of spells until he finds the right one, takes his trident and goes to the hill next to the city. Under the rumble of thunder, Zarok swings his trident and released a wave of green energy. Next, he enters the city itself. He lifts his staff and releases the rays of green energy that hit the inhabitants of the city, stealing their souls and turning them into zombies. Stolen souls suck in Zarok's staff. Then the sorcerer goes to the cemetery, emitting a green glow. Above the gates of the cemetery, there is a wrought-iron plate called "Fortesque". Under the influence of green light, the trees become evil monsters and the corpses rise from the graves. Zarok has succeeded in reviving an undead army. The sorcerer has overlooked one thing. In a crypt, a skeleton, wearing a knight's armor and missing a lower jaw and what looks like crooked teeth. The skeleton is struck by the green armor and then memories of a battle courses through the memories of his human self as he led the king's army in battle. He gave the order to charge. Zarok is sitting on a chair, being carried by some of his soldiers. He raises his trident.
"FIRE!" Zarok ordered. Zarok's archers fires their arrows. The knight leading the attack is struck in the left eye and is the first to fall in battle. The rest of the army charges forward. The skeleton wakes up and opens his blue right eye. A spiderweb is in his left eye socket, the skeleton removes the web from there and gets back up on his feet. The skeleton wondered how long he has been dead. A gargoyle's head comes to life and speaks.
"It has risen again - Sir Daniel Fortesque. See? The hero of Gallowmere who fell at the first charge! The fog of war and the shrouds of time conspired to turn the arrow fodder into the savior of the day. But we know better," the gargoyle said before going back to sleep. Sir Daniel spoke, but hardly understandable.
"I'll show you!" Sir Daniel mumbled. Another Gargoyle head woke up and spoke.
"Let it alone! Fate has given it a second chance, and a chance to forget the ignoble truth, a chance to defeat Zarok and live up to the legend. We hopes it does well," the second gargoyle spoke. Sir Daniel looked around the crypt and started walking. He searches for a sword and a shield to use.
Back in Pallet Town, Sora and Kairi were training for the final battle against the Brotherhood of Darkness. Alucard was watching closely Kubfu has managed to give some of the big Pokémon a run for their money. They manage to hold their own. In the process of the training Yanma had learned to use Ancient Power and Lickitung learned to use Rollout. Also, Paras, Magnemite, Doduo, Wooper, Cufant, Chinchou, and Snubbull all started to evolve. The newly evolved Magneton accidentally crates a magnetic field, pulling the Steel Type Pokémon down, but causing Nosepass to evolve into a Probopass.
"Turn down the juice, Magneton!" Sora shouted. Magneton complies and undoes the magnetic field. He looked right at his newly evolved Probopass. "Sure wasn't expecting that, but it sure it was awesome!" Probopass beamed.
Over to the ruins of Team Rocket HQ, the Brotherhood of Darkness all come out of a dimensional rift. Bowser Jr., the Koopalings, the evil Robot Masters, along with the, the Hooligans, the Destructix, Dr. Finnitevus, Breezie, Mavericks, including Chill Penguin, Spark Mandrill, Wheel Gator, Bubble Crab, Spiral Pegasus, Frost Walrus, Burn Dinorex, Split Mushroom, Storm Eagle, Storm Owl, Cyber Peacock, and the other Mavericks. One Maverick resembles a stag Beetle (Boomerang Kuwanger), one Maverick looks like a hercules beetle (Gravity Beetle), one looks like a sea cucumber (Wire Sponge), one resembles a moth (Morph Moth), one looks like a centipede, (Magna Centipede), one looks like a deer (Flame Stag), one looks like a snail (Crystal Snail), one looks like an ostrich (Overdrive Ostrich), one looks like an octopus (Launch Octopus), one looks like a chameleon (Sting Chameleon), one looks like an elephant (Flame Mammoth), one looks like a catfish (Volt Catfish), one looks like a lobster (Crush Crawfish), one looks like a buffalo, (Blizzard Buffalo), one looks like a seahorse (Toxic Seahorse), one looks like a tiger, (Neon Tiger), one looks like a hornet (Blast Hornet), one looks like a spider (Web Spider), one looks like a dragon (Magma Dragoon), one looks like a stingray (Jet Stongray),one looks like a grizzly bear (Cresent Grizzly), one looks like a blue whale (Tidal Whale), one looks like a squid (Volt Kraken), one looks like a firefly (Shining Firefly), one looks like a vampire bat, (Dark Necrobat), one looks like a rose, (Spike Rosered), one looks like a dragonfly (Commander Yammark), one looks like a dung beetle (Ground Scaravich), one looks like a phoenix (Blaze Heatnix), one looks like a wolf (Blizzard Wolfang), one looks like a snapping turtle (Rainy Turtloid), one looks like a hammerhead shark (Metal Shark Player), one looks like a scallop, (Shield Sheldon), one looks like a water bug (Infinity Mijinion), one looks like a viking gorilla (Soldier Stonekong), one looks like an onion (Tornado Tonion), one looks like a wild boar (Ride Boarski), one looks like a flying fish (Splash Warfly), one looks like a hyena (Flame Hynard), one looks like a crow (Wind Crowrang), one looks like an anteater (Snipe Aneator), one looks like a kangaroo joey (Vanishing Gungaroo), one looks like a giant panda (Bamboo Pandamonium), one looks like a sunflower (Optic Sunflower), one looks like a mantis (Dark Mantis), one looks like an ant (Gravity Antonion), one looks like a trilobyte (Earthrock Trilobyte), one looks like a jellyfish (Gigavolt Man-O-War), one looks like a snowman (Avalanche Yeti), and one looks like a rooster (Burn Rooster). Gareth, Berkana, Bit, Byte, the X-Hunters, and some more Mavericks came out the rift. One is a purple Reploid, wearing a lab coat with gold accents around his wrists. His helmet is distinguished by a pair of metallic blades running across the sides and a diamond shaped gem. Another gem with the shape of a pentagon is located on the center of his chestplate. One is a golden Maverick, carrying a giant cleever, and one is a black Maverick with sharp edges, and holding a large shuriken. Coming along is a tall Reploid equipped with dark blue armor with yellow and white highlights. His helmet has two prongs on the top with green gemstones, making it reminiscent of a Western cowboy hat, and a red visor covers his eyes. He has long, silver-blue hair that flows out the back of his helmet. He can turn his arms into busters and also wields beam swords, which he keeps on a utility belt. And there is another black and white armor with yellow highlights. He possesses a white shape on his chest with a jewel, reminiscent of a formal shirt under a suit. He has pale skin and blank eyes, and his helmet possesses two horn-like structures. The Koopa Troop, Kremlings, Snowmads, the Tinkerbats, and the other armies of their respected masters.
"Why are we even here? You remember what happened when we were about to two-time Giovanni?" Bowser asked.
"Because he could be looking for us as we speak. We cannot take any unnecessary risks," Ganondorf said. "And he will not be expecting us to be hiding here."
"Hiding in the base of his old enemies. Clever," Sigma said.
"You think they won't look here?" Bowser asked.
"This place only serves a reminder of Team Rocket and all that stands for. The perfect hiding place to plan our next attack," Ganondorf said.
Back to Pallet Town, Alia, Iris, Layer, Pallette were scanning through the worlds, trying a sign of the Brotherhood of Darkness.
"Anything, Iris?" Layer asked.
"Nothing. You, Layer?" Iris asked.
"Not even close," Layer said.
"You two cold too?" Pallette asked.
"Frosty," Layer said.
"Same," Pallette said.
"We've been at this for a while and how could we not find them?" Layer asked.
"Sora would say it'll be too easy for us if they left a sign behind," Iris said.
"She's right," Alia agreed. "I checked with Sally and the Freedom Fighters, and with Toadsworth, and they didn't see a sign either." She skimmed through the worlds on the monitor until she hit a snag. "What the?!" Iris turned to the pink Reploid.
"What's wrong, Alia?" Iris asked.
"I'm picking up something. It's some kind of energy," Alia said. The other navigators all looks on the screen.
"What could it mean?" Pallette asked.
"I don't know. We better let Sora and everyone else know about this just to make sure," Alia said. Iris, Layer, and Pallette agreed and made contact with everyone.
Back in Gallowmere, Blaze, Samus, Jak, Daxter, Keira, Ratchet, Clank, the Bomberman Brothers, Shovel Knight, Fox, Sash, Carol, Milla, Sir Arthur, Volnutt, Marth, Gunvolt, and Ray Man all came out of a dimensional rift and saw the strange green energy going around.
"What's going on here?" Ratchet asked.
"I don't know, but this place gives me the creeps," Daxter said, shivering.
"Me too," Pink Bomber said.
"You can say that again, Daxter. This place is probably crawling with them," Fox said.
"N-N-N-No need to be scared. I'm sure it's nothing Sir Arthur can't handle himself," White Bomber said, shaking like an autumn leave on a tree.
"I have ventured through graveyards before to rescue the princess from Astaroth, and this place pales in comparison to his domain," Sir Arthur said.
"We'll have to work together if we are to put an end to the Brotherhood of Darkness," Blaze said. "Now come on. Let's go." Blaze and her team set off to look for the Brotherhood of Darkness.
Over to Sir Daniel, he came out of the crypt after unlocking the crypt with a rune. He made it out to the graveyard. Sir Daniel encountered some zombies coinng out and took them out. Sir Daniel made his way to a a hall filled with statues of warriors of Gallowmere. One is a lanky young man, in possession of a crossbow. Sir Daniel stands before the statute.
"Captain Fortesque! It's me, Canny Tim. Does the battle go well?" Canny Tim asked.
"I don't know, I just woke up," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"How I wish I could fight at you side again, sir. But hold, you could take my crossbow, it's got rapid fire and you can ricochet the darts off walls to shoot around corners. I used it at the Battle of Gallowmere after you were slain. I shot Zarok's champion Lord Kardok – a clean kill, through the eye at some 1000 yards," Canny Tim said.
"Get on with it!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Not that there's anything clever about shooting someone in the eye, sir," Canny Tim said. This annoys Sir Daniel.
"Watch it!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Duh! G-goobye, sir," Canny Tim said, giving him the crossbow. Sir Daniel come to the statue of a chubby, yet muscular statue. In his hands is a large warhammer.
"Ahh Fortesque! It's me, Stanyer Iron Hewer! What's this I hear about that arch cad Zarok still being alive – thought you killed the fella!"
"No, no," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Never mind, you old war-horse, better show 'im what's what, eh? I expect Johnny Zombie's a bit more of a handful than you remember – how are you doing for weapons?" Stanyer Iron Hewer asked.
"Just got a crossbow from Canny Tim," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Here, take my WarHammer, it'll smash anything and it won't fall apart like a club – I only ever get to use it cracking walnuts around this place," Stanyer Iron Hewer said.
"Great!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Nonsense, Fortesque I won't take no for an answer. Knock a few heads for old Stanyer Iron Hewer, eh?" Stanyer Iron Hewer asked. He was going to do that anyway, so he takes the hammer. He then the next statue which happens to be a bald-headed man with a sword and wore a chestplate with wings on the shoulder.
"Fortesque, you jawless arrow magnet – what are you doing back here?" The man asked.
"It's complicated, Woden," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"What? Call me MISTER Woden the Mighty! How I pity the people of Gallowmere – that their fate should once again be in the hands of chump like you! Still, I suppose it's not fair to take it out on them – take my sword – and do try not to stab yourself in the foot. You know, I've always had my doubts about you, Fortesque – you're just not carved from hero material," Woden the Mighty said.
"I'll show you!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
Dan took the sword and next to the next statue which is an African woman with a spear.
"Dan, Dan, Dan. Tell me, what's a warrior queen got to do to meet someone like you?" The woman asked.
"Huh? Me?" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Don't be shy, baby – I've seen you giving me the eye. You may be weak and feeble like all men, but I like you, Daniel," the woman said.
"Oh no, Imanzi, it's not like that," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Oh, I love a man who doesn't talk back! I think if you return I may take you for my husband," Imanzi flirted. He gulps. "Now, listen up, sugar: your bow and arrows are fine for itty bitty jobs but if you wanna pack some serious heat, you should take this spear."
"Great!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Think of me then you throw it," Imanzi said. Sir Daniel takes the spear and heads for the next statue which is of a centaur with a longbow.
"Look at you running around in your bones, Fortesque – you're so nouveau dead," the centaur said.
"I don't even know how long I have been
dead for," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"I Ravenhooves, last prince of the Centaurs, have not galloped the earth in over ten thousand years," Ravenhooves said.
"Oh no," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Do yourself a favour, Fortesque, take my longbow – more powerful than a crossbow, the option of flaming arrows, it is truly the weapon of nobleman," Ravenhooves said, giving him the crossbow.
"Yes please," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Congratulations. You don't quite have my breeding, Mr. Johnny Come Lately, but there's hope for you yet," Ravenhooves said. He went to the next statue which is holding a shield.
"Ahh, Herr Fortesque – you are back on the battlefield, yah? Zis is good. People say to me 'Sturnguard what do think of this sword or that axe' but I say to them 'NEIN! Modern warfare is a question of science, the science of shields,'" the statue said in a German accent.
"Get on with it, Karl!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"I think maybe you should take my shield – yah? It is magic, Herr Fortesque. Some say it is better to have a magic sword than a magic shield but I say to you that this is rubbish!" Karl Sturnguard exclaimed. Sir Daniel accepts the shield.
"Thank you, Sturnguard!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"So long as you use it properly this shield will make you invincible!" Karl Sturnguard said. Sir Daniel went to the next statue, and it is one of a nomad weilding a huge axe.
"Eh Mr… Fortisskay – I wanna talk with you," the nomad said.
"Who me?" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"If this Zorak so bad, why you get to go back? Why you of all people, Fortesskay?" The nomad asked. He rolled his one eye. "It should be I, Bloodmonath Skull Cleaver – when I lived, always I had a pile of slain strewn around me. You, you spend most of your time organizing the hanging of the guard and playing croquet with the king."
"Get to the point, Bloodmonath!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Still, I lend you my axe – you swing her, you throw her, she thirsts for slaughter as much as I," Bloodmonath Skull Cleaver said, giving him his axe. "Drink deep of demon blood my proud beauty." Sir Daniel next to the next statue with another sword.
"Alright, Dan man, how ya doing?" The statue asked in a Scottish accent.
"I've been dead for a long time and I just woke up, so you tell me, Dirk," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Now then, have ya got yourself a magic sword?" Dirk asked.
"What? Daniel, man, you cannot go into battle against an army of undead without a magic sword… Here take mine, you'll never have to sharpen another blade or my name not Dirk Steadfast. It's not enough just to have a magic shield, you know, no matter what that soft, thickie Sturnguard says,"
"I HEARD THAT!" Karl Sturnguard yelled.
"I'll take your word for it," Sir Daniel mumbled, taking the magic sword. Sir Daniel makes his way to the final statue which is a woman with her hair with lightning bolts.
"Daniel, there you are! It has been one hundred years," the woman said.
"Is that how long it's been? I'm just glad you care that much, Megwynne," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"I know you have the heart of a hero, Daniel, now we must show the others. Would you like to take my magic lightning bolts - I don't have many but they're very powerful," Megwynne said. Sir Daniel accepts the lightning bolts.
"I'll use them wisely," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Off you pop then and keep your chin up!" Megwynne said.
"Hey, watch it!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Oops! Sorry! You got to have a chin to keep it up. Now take care, the good people of Gallowmere are depending on you," Megwynne said. The dead knight took the weapons he received from his fellow heroes and set off to fight Zarok. He enters an area known as Cemetary Hill, and on the hill, Zarok spots Sir Daniel and he is displeased to see him again after a century.
"So, even from the shackles of death my old enemy pursues me! You're too late, Fortesque – already my army has risen from the grave! You will never leave this necropolis," Zarok said, laughing. He raises his trident and slams it to the ground, giving off a green glow. The statues comes to life and they spit out stones at him. Sir Daniel had to press on to get Zarok.
Back in Pallet Town, Sora, Kairi, and the rest of the inter dimensional heroes all gather to hear what the navigators found out.
"So, what's going on?" X asked.
"We've picked up a strange reading and it's not like anything we've detected," Alia said.
"It was the strangest thing we have picked up so far. We suspect this is the Brotherhood of Darkness doing this," Iris said.
"Them again?" Zero asked.
"Them again," Layer said.
"We just need to get in there and put a stop to whatever is causing this," Ash said.
"He's right. With everything going on, we can't afford to hesitate," Alucard said.
"Agreed. Sora, Kairi, we'll need you to head on down and look into it," Alia said.
"On it," Sora and Kairi said. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth got set to go into this new world and they were bringing Murkrow, Gengar, Banette, Sableye, Dusknoir, Mismagius, Cursola, Polteageist, Hattrem, and the Kantonian Marowak. Sora, Kairi, and the Pokémon were heading on ahead. Alia activated a dimensional rift and the couple, and the Pokémon enetred right on through. They entered right into Gallows in Gallowmere. As they looked around, they noticed something was off; especially with all the green mist going on around.
"Anyone has a bad vibe going on?" Meowth asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"You mean like Dracula's castle, then I'm feeling it too," Sora said.
"Maybe, we could look around for a bit," Kairi suggested.
"You sure? After facing some demons in that creepy castle? Who knows might come at us?" Meowth asked.
"We got you, Pikachu, Angel, and the other Pokémon with us, so it should be fine," Sora said.
"Yeah, yeah," Meowth said. The couple and the Pokémon all looked around the town and saw how deserted it looked, even at night. As they took a step forward, they saw a few of the villagers, armed with axes, pans, and other weapons. "Still think it's going to be fine?"
"As long as we don't do anything to draw attention," Sora said.
"Alia to Sora and Kairi, is everything okay down there?" Alia asked through the communicator.
"Yeah, and there's something off with the locals," Sora said. "That could be the strange reading you were tracking?"
"Most likely. Look into it and be careful while you're in there," Alia said.
"Right," Sora said. He breaks contact with Alia and carries on the mission. "Gotta tell you, Kairi, if Acerola was with us, she would love the creepy atmosphere here."
"And Sophocles would be scared out of his mind," Kairi added. Pikachu and laughed in agreement. "So, any idea on where to go from here?"
"We should try to find out who and what is causing this," Sora said.
"Thanks for pointing that out, captain obvious," Meowth said sarcastically. "So where do we go from here?" Pikachu's ears perked up.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"What do you mean, someone's coming?" Meowth asked. They all hid before they could be seen by a little girl, carrying an axe. "Something tells me, that little girl shouldn't be playing with that." Kairi covers his mouth.
"Shh!" Kairi said. The little girl looked around when she heard Meowth. She moved right on. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth waited until it was safe to move, so they started to make their move when an axe is swung at them, making them scatter. It was from the possessed men. "Run!" Not needing to be told twice, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth started to run. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Banette! Go!" Sora called out as Banette came on out. "Use Psychic!" Banette used Psychic to get that axe out of his hands. "Run now!" Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Banette, and Meowth ran for their lives and heads right into the local church. They panted to catch their breath. "We good? Anyone still in one piece?"
"I still have both my paws, my feet, and I still have my tail," Meowth said.
"Okay, still in one piece," Sora said. Pikachu's ears perked up again.
"Pi!" Pikachu said.
"Let me guess, someone's coming?" Sora asked.
"Pi," Pikachu nodded. Sora calls Banette back in his Pokéball as he, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth all hid behind the seats of the church as Sir Daniel enters the church. They all see the skeleton coming in.
"A walking skeleton?" Sora asked.
"Well, it's not Jack Skellington," Meowth said.
The skeleton walks up to the altar and gazed upon at the stained glass window. The couple and the Pokémon started to sneak out quietly. Kairi gave a small sneeze, drawing the skeleton's attention.
"Oops," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"How did you get in here?" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"Run!" Sora said. He, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth all ran as Sir Daniel went after them.
"Wait!" Sir Daniel mumbled. They came across a couple of guards looking like kettle boilers with skulls. Sir Daniel took out the warhammer he got from Stanyer Iron Hewer and bashed them. Sora and Kairi were surprised by what they witnessed.
"That pile of bones just saved our skins!" Meowth said.
"And what a save!" Sora said. Sir Daniel turned to the kids and Pokémon.
"Are you alright? I wasn't expecting anyone to be free from Zarok's control! Just glad you're okay!" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"I can't understand you!" Sora said.
"I think his lower jaw is missing, that could be why we can't understand him," Kairi said. Sir Daniel nodded.
"What are you doing out here?" Sir Daniel mumbled.
"You're going to need your missing jaw if you're gonna talk," Meowth said. Sir Daniel groaned.
"So, you mind filling us in on what's going on?" Sora asked.
"This is the work of the evil sorcerer, Zarok! He has risen an undead army and he has set out to conquer Gallowmere! I have come back from the dead to stop him!" Sir Daniel mumbled. Sora and Kairi just looked right at him.
"You're still not shooting straight with us," Sora said.
"Perhaps I shall speak," a new voice spoke. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth all looked around.
"Who said that?" Meowth asked.
"Over here," the gargoyle spoke again. They turned to see the gargoyle. "I was the one who has spoken. You are in the presence of Sir Daniel Fortesque, the Hero of Gallowmere. The warrior who legends says has slained the sorcerer, Zarok."
"Sir Daniel Fortesque?" Sora asked. Sir Daniel nodded.
"We knows the truth. Sir Daniel did not slay the sorcerer, it has fallen in battle at the first charge," the gargoyle said.
"Really?" Sora asked in surprise. Sir Daniel groaned as he looked down at the ground, disappointed.
" It's true," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"It has risen from the grave to defeat Zarok and live up to the legend," the gargoyle said.
"Why does everyone all believe that he defeated this Zarok guy and not someone else?" Sora asked.
"The fog of war and the shrouds of time conspired to turn the arrow fodder into the savior of the day," the gargoyle said. Sora shrugged his shoulders.
"If Zarok's back, then we'll have to work together to put a stop to the disturbance," Sora said. Sir Daniel turned to the spiky-headed boy.
"No! You're not coming with me!" Sir Daniel mumbled as he objected.
"Okay, let's go!" Sora said. The one-eyed skeleton rolled his eye.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Sir Daniel ventured through Gallowmere and they fill the undead warrior that they are not from Gallowmere. He was stunned to hear that tale. They all went through the land of Gallowmere as they fought a horde of demons. A demon that is made of stained glass. They eventually made it close to Zarok's lair while riding in a pirate ship. Along the way, they bumped into Blaze, Samus, Jak, Daxter, Keira, Ratchet, Clank, the Bomberman Brothers, Shovel Knight, Fox, Sash, Carol, Milla, Sir Arthur, Volnutt, Marth, Gunvolt, and Ray Man.
"You will not believe what we've been through," Jak said.
"You may want to try us," Sora said, pointing to Sir Daniel. Sir Arthur drew his lance.
"Why have you brought this fiend here?" Sir Arthur asked.
"It's okay, Sir Arthur! It's cool He's one of the good guys!" Sora assured him.
"Anyway, Sora, what's going on?" Blaze asked.
"Okay, there's a sorcerer calling himself Zarok and he's been causing some toruble around here. So, Sir Daniel Forteque here was brought back to life to defeat him," Sora said.
"Zarok. So, that's what he calls himself. He's inside there and we were on our way in," Samus said.
"What's the plan?" Volnutt asked.
"Go inside and take out whatever's coming our way. Sir Daniel will deal with Zarok," Sora said. Sir Daniel liked that plan very much, so he went along with it.
They traveled there by train and got ready for battle against the evil sorcerer. Hordes of demons got in the way, but they were beaten by the group of heroes, with Sir Daniel taking the lead. They made it to an arena with Zarok waiting for them.
"Sir Fortesque, my old nemesis, so we meet again! I see that a century spent as worm food has done nothing to diminish your naive obsession with the freedom of Gallowmere," Zarok said.
"There's nothing naive about freedom," Blaze said.
"We came so far to put a stop to you once and for all," Samus said.
"So, get ready to lose everything," Sash said.
"What is this? Your new army? How amusing. No matter, they shall meet the same fate as you, Fortesque. Allow me to summon my own army," Zarok said, raising his undead army as they gave off green light. "Prepare to attack, my warriors, I want the dogs gnawing marrow from those bones within the hour."
"We can take on anything you can throw at us!" Sora said.
"So brave and so foolish. But you will all die! Destroy them all!" Zarok ordered.
"For the honor of Gallowmere!" Sora said. Sir Daniel smiled as he drew out a magic sowrd.
"Charge!" Sir Daniel ordered.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the rest of the heroes all charged in and clashed with Zarok's soldiers. Zarok's soldiers were reduced to a pile of bones before them. Sir Daniel points his sword at the sorcerer.
"We took down your army, Zarok!" Blaze said.
"The battle is ours! We are free from your tyranny, Zarok!" Sir Daniel mumbled. Zarok growled.
"You always were fortunate in battle, Fortesque. Let us see how you fare against my champion, the late Lord Kardok. He eats people like you as calcium supplement!" Zarok said as a skeleton warrior rode in on a flaming horse skeleton. The heroes prepared to fight as Sir Daniel raised his hand.
"No, this fight is mine!" Sir Daniel mumbled. Reluctantly they all stayed back and watched on as Sir Daniel fought Zarok's champion. Lord Kardok swung his mace, but he blocked with his shield. Lord Kardok kept going as Sir Daniel ran across the battlefield. Lord Kardok knocks the shield out of his boney hands, but held his sword. Lord Kardok was about to finish him off when Sir Daniel swung at the skeleton horse, knocking Lord Kardok off. Sir Daniel gave Zarok's champion a stab in the chest. Lord Kardok screamed as he bursts into flames. Zarok growled.
"Bugger! Right then, that's it! I've just about had enough of your meddling!" Zarok said, taking his leave behind the curtains. They could hear what he was saying. "Where is that spell? Ah yes!" He starts clucking like a chicken. "No, not that spell." The sound of a sheep bleets. "Oh not right now! Ha ha! Now I have it!" After waiting a few seconds, Zarok comes out in the form of a dinosaur clown.
"Oh, this can't be good," Sora said.
"None shall defeat the mighty Zarok!" Zarok said before he starts clucking like a chicken. He shakes it off. "Prepare to die, Fortesque!"
Zarok starts off the battle by breathing fire at the undead knight. He raises his shield in defense. Zarok breathes fire at him again. Sir Daniel swings his sword at the transformed sorcerer. Sir Daniel kept swinging and swinging as Zarok kept dodging. Zarok also spits out acid and shoots lightning. Sir Daniel waited for the right moment and he takes a stab at the monster, casuing it to turn to stone and crak with green light. Zarok explodes, changing him back.
"Ughhh - Curse you Sir Knight. I am finally defeated. Yet if I am to fail then all shall perish! You are doomed Fortesque! You and your friends! You will never leave this domain! Ha ha ha!" Zarok said as he uses his magic to destroy everything around, but he is crushed by a falling boulder. His arm is visible. Knowing they were going to be crushed, the group all rushed out of the crumbling lair and succeeded in escaping.
"Zarok's gone," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"So now what?" Red Bomber asked.
"He lived up to the legend. And everything should be going back to normal now," Kairi said.
And she was right as the citizens of the towns and vilages were going back to normal. And the zombies wondering around all became nothing but corpses rotting in the streets. The group made it back to Sir Daniel's crypt where he is laying back down.
"Thank you all for what you have done. My reputation is safe, and the people are freed from Zarok's tyranny," Sir Daniel mumbled.
"You don't need to thank us. We're just happy to help out. Now you can go back to your eternal rest. You earned it," Sora said. Sir Daniel smiled.
"I thank you, Sir Sora!" Sir Daniel mumbled as he bowed his skull in respect.
"Rest well, Sir Daniel Fortesque, Hero of Gallowmere," Sora said Sir Daniel took one last look of his friends before he blinked one last time as his eye vanishes. A dimensional rift opens and they all enter on through. Blaze, Samus, Jak, Daxter, Keira, Ratchet, Clank, the Bomberman Brothers, Shovel Knight, Fox, Sash, Carol, Milla, Sir Arthur, Volnutt, Marth, Gunvolt, and Ray Man all went in with him. They explained to their friends about what happned and they were happy it had ended. But the war was far from over.
