Episode 315: It's About Time!
To everyone who have favorited and are following, I would like to announce that I will be beginning the Sinnoh arc very soon. I have a few more chapters to wrap up the multiverse arc (counting this one). This chapter will be dealing with Dr. Cortex and Dr. N. Tropy at the same time, and the battle between the Brotherhood of Darkness and the forces of good will be broken down into two chapters. Many of you have been looking for the Sinnoh arc, and basically, I am too. So please enjoy the chapter as I write it down.
A few days came and went as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth and their friends went through some more worlds to find the Brotherhood of Darkness. Blaze and her team joined up with the other heroes, knowing they would have a much better shot at looking. Ripper Roo was found in Abel City and returned safely to N. Sanity Island.
No one was able to find any trace of them anywhere. Sora wondered what to do next as he goes through the net, to see if anything has shown up in the news on his laptop, but so far, none has much to his surprise. He looked over to his partner.
"Looks like it's another dead end, buddy," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Sora sighed, "I hope Kairi had much better luck than we did," Sora said. Sora gets up and leaves his laptop on. Pikachu looks at the laptop and notices something strange going on. Pikachu could have sworn he saw what looks like a dinosaur's face. The face is amber orange and has green eyes.
"Pika!" Pikachu said. Sora turned around before he could step out.
"What is it, Pikachu?" Sora asked. He realized he left it on again. "Oh! Good thing you reminded me. I almost forgot to turn it off again! I'm going to be in hot water with mom if she sees I left it on again. Thanks buddy." Sora turned it off before Pikachu could see more.
"Pika, Pika, Pikachu, Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said, trying to tell Sora what he saw.
"Whatever it is, you can show me later. Right now, we have to see if Kairi's got anything," Sora said as he and Pikachu left. The mouse Pokémon was certain he just saw something in the computer just now.
Pikachu wasn't wrong, because he did see a face on the computer screen. It was a strange world that appears to be entirely out of data. Several Porygon comes zooming by as well as a Porygon2 is floating above. A red tyrannosaurus rex-like creature comes on by the smaller dinosaur as it walks. It has blue eyes, three fingers on each hand, three toes on each foot, and a pair or teeth so large they pop out of the mouth. It has red skin on its body, white skin on its belly, and black stripes on its head, tail, and legs. It has white claws on its fingers and toes, and it has green plates on its back. The smaller dinosaur looked at the screen it was looking at when a Porygon comes up to it and playfully jabs it from behind.
"Not again, Porygon!" The amber orange dinosaur said. It chases after the virtual Pokémon.
Back in Pallet Town, Kairi looked over in her own laptop for any clues about any sightings, but she came out empty too.
"Kairi! Your boyfriend is here!" Kairi's grandmother called from downstairs.
"Tell Sora I'll be right down!" Kairi called back. Kairi went to the mirror and made sure she was presentable and went downstairs along with Angel. "Sora!" Kairi was always happy to see him. She hugged her boyfriend and he hugs her back. Pikachu and Angel embraces each other.
"So, you found something, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"No. You?" Kairi asked.
"No. Not a single clue," Sora said. "But enough of that, are you fixed for dinner at my house tonight?"
"Always. Your mom cooking something special?" Kairi asked.
"Well, it's my uncle's recipe burgers. He taught her how to make it whenever he and my aunt left on vacation," Sora said.
"While we're on the subject, where are your aunt, uncle, and cousin right now?" Kairi asked.
"They're visiting Ven's grandma who lives in Celadon City. Terra and Aqua are helping out at his restaurant since they're a little short-handed," Sora said. "Candy is attending her niece's graduation from nursing school."
Over in Celadon City, Ventus knocks on the door and an elderly woman answers the door.
"Ventus! My, you're getting bigger every time I lay my eyes on you," Ventus's grandmother said.
"Hi grandma," Ventus said, giving her a hug.
"Hello mom," Cattleya greeted. "We thought we come on over for a visit."
"I'm always glad to see you, Cattleya," Ventus's grandmother said. She saw her son-in-law as well. "You as well, Danny."
"Good to see you, too," Danny said.
"Would you like to come in?" Ventus's grandmother asked. She looked right at her grandson. "I have some cookies waiting for you."
"Grandma's cookies are the best! Next to mom's and auntie D's," Ventus said. He went on inside as his parents followed in.
Over in Saffron City, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill were staying over at Naminé's parents. Eevee was sparring with Naminé's father's Pokémon. Riku decided to crash over in Saffron City since it was getting crowded, but he gave Sora and Kairi the support they need. Naminé knew her boyfriend was worrying and she couldn't blame him.
"Riku. Are you okay?" Naminé asked.
"Yes and no, Naminé. Ever since this whole mess started, I've been thinking hard about what could go wrong," Riku told his girlfriend. Naminé placed her hand on her boyfriend's cheek.
"Sora can handle it, Riku. You know he can," Naminé assured him. He felt better and he hugged her.
"Thanks a lot, Naminé. Like Kairi, you know the right thing to say," Riku said. "Glad you're my girlfriend."
"And I'm glad you're my boyfriend," Naminé said. Riku and Naminé kissed on the lips and parted. "Now, come on. My mom's probably finished making dinner by now." She and her boyfriend went downstairs for dinner.
Back in Pallet Town, everyone at the mansion were getting in some practice before upcoming final battle against the Brotherhood of Darkness. Blue Bomber pretty much slept through most of the training while White Bomber was trying to wake him up.
"Blue, not again!" White Bomber exclaimed.
"Wake me up when it's dinnertime," Blue Bomber said, sleeping. White Bomber facepalmed.
On the very next day, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth all got set for their next mission, taking place in an alternated earth, and the location is on an icy mountain. Sora and Kairi dressed in their warmest jackets since they knew how could it was. Sora and Kairi were bringing Glalie, Walrein, Mamoswine, Crabominable, Arctozolt, Froslass, Jynx, Delibird, Dewgong, and Mr. Rime. Crash and Coco were coming along. Wario, Waluigi, Ice Man, X, Zero, and Axl were also tagging along.
"Everyone set?" Alia asked.
"Ready as we'll ever be," Zero said.
"Be careful out there, Zero," Iris said.
"I will, Iris," Zero said, hugging her.
"Okay, everyone. Let's get going," Sora said.
Alia activates the dimensional rift and they all go right on through. Upon entering, Crash slips on the ice as a small device hovers to them. It reveals Cortex's head in a green hologram. Crash and Coco were surprised to see their long-time enemy even as a hologram.
"Dr. Cortex?!" Coco gasped.
"Crash Bandicoot! You banished me to the past, but all it did was give more time to plan your doom. You'll find me up the mountain. Don't freeze on the way!" Cortex said before the device deactivates and hovers off.
"Was that the Dr. Cortex you were telling us about?" Sora asked.
"That's him," Coco said as Crash nodded.
"Just how many times did you beat that clown?" Wario asked.
"Only three times," Coco answered. "And Shantae did say it would seem like more."
"That's what I thought when we first met them," X said.
"I had a feeling we were going to see Cortex again after seeing N. Gin and N. Brio again. Those evil geniuses are harder to crush than cockroaches," Coco said.
"Whatever plan your foe's got cooking up is going to get plugged," Zero said.
"So, let's go!" Axl said.
"Doesn't anyone think it could be a trap or something?" Ice Man asked.
"I kinda do, but we have to be smart about it," Zero said.
"Zero's right. If Cortex is leading us into a trap, then he is doing a decent job of it by daring us to go after him," Axl said.
"Wonder if he has some valuables to take off his hands?" Wario asked.
"Oh, he might," Waluigi said.
"Will you two focus? We got even more important things to worry about, like saving all the worlds. Besides, we got an evil genius to stop," Coco said.
"It's a good thing you came along because we could use your experience against this guy," Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Meowth, Wario, Waluigi, X, Zero, Axl, Crash, Coco, and Ice Man started their pursuit on the evil scientist.
Back in Pallet Town, Scorbunny was still fighting for Bianca's affections and wanted the anthromorphic rabbit for himself, so he went out of his way to pic the most prettiest flower he could find.
Over to Hunter and Bianca, he and the rabbit were having a picnic, so they invited Spyro and Elora for the picnic. Murray wanted a taste of the food, but Spyro threatened to make him into a roasted hippo if he tried; and he wasn't kidding.
"Thanks for the invite, Bianca," Elora said.
"Yeah thanks," Spyro added.
"It's the least we can do, guys," Bianca said.
"Becuase you guys are our best friends. So, Bianca, should we go take a small walk and let you have a chance to talk," Hunter said.
"Good idea, Hunter," Bianca said. The couple got up and went off for their walk. Spyro and Elora were left alone while they had a talk.
"So, enjoying yourself, Elora?" Spyro asked.
"I am. Just as long I'm with you," Elora said.
"I'm glad. Really, I am," Spyro said. They were silent for a moment before they both spoke at once.
"There's something I-" Spyro and Elora said at the same time. They then chuckled.
"How about I let you go first, Elora," Spyro said.
"Well, I wanted to ask if you meant what you said that you're glad we brought you into Avalar to help us get rid of Ripto?" Elora asked.
"Yeah, I did. I wouldn't admit it if I didn't," Spyro said.
"I'm glad too, because I liked getting to know you. And well, it was hard for us to do so because of your egg hunt," Elora said.
"Yeah. I wanted to invite you into our celebration, but you said you were still busy with the repairs in Avalar," Spyro said.
"That's right. I was flattered that you wanted me to come along," Elora said. Spyro could only smile. "But there's something else I wanted to say to you."
"Yeah?" Spyro got curious.
"There was something I wanted you to know right away. I have been keeping it quiet for a while, that is, until now," Elora said.
"What?" Spyro asked.
"The thing is, what I wanted to say that is well," Elora said, blushing. She took a big breath. She knew it was a point of no return. She had to let it out now. "I love you, Spyro." The purple dragon was thrilled to hear it.
"I love you too, Elora. I felt that way about you," Spyro confessed.
"I know. I heard you talk with Hunter once," Elora said. This surprsied Spyro.
"You knew? Why didn't you say anything?" Spyro asked.
"I thought it was best if I heard it from you. First or not," Elora said. Spyro took the faun by the hand.
"Now that we know each other's feelings, it doesn't really matter. Sora got Kairi, Riku got Naminé, and Zero's got Iris. And now, I have you," Spyro said. The faun smiled as the two of them kissed each other on the lips. The moment is interrupted when they heard some clapping going on. They parted lips to see Sparx, Hunter, Bianca, Sheila, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley the Yeti, Agent 9, Roll, the Cooper Gang, Carmelita, the Mane Seven, Pink Bomber, and Aqua Bomber clapping for them. "How much of it did you see?"
"All of it," Hunter admitted.
"It was such a good idea, Hunter," Bianca said.
"Hunter, this was your idea?" Elora asked.
"Yeah. But Bianca helped carry it out," Hunter admitted.
"Guilty as charged," Bianca said.
"How about we go on with the picnic since Spyro and Elora are officially a couple?" Bianca suggested.
"I'm in!" Murray said, before Sly stopped him.
"Murray, I think she meant with just the four of them. Besides, we got some of those sweets Pinkie Pie just made for us," Sly said.
"I can live with that," Murray said.
The small audience took their leave as Scorbunny shows up with the flowers. The two couples saw the fire rabbit Pokémon with the flowers. He presented them to Bianca.
"You again? You little pest! How many times do we have to go over this? Bianca's my girlfriend, not yours!" Hunter excaimed.
"Scor, Scor, Scor, Scorbunny, Scorbunny!" Scorbunny said.
"I can't understand a word you're saying!" Hunter said.
"Bunny!" Scorbunny fired Ember right in the cheetah's face and then jumped at him, causing a brawl.
"Hunter, Scorbunny, stop! This isn't mature!" Bianca said. Spyro and Elora watched on to see the two of them go at it.
"Is this what you had in mind for entertainment, Spyro?" Elora asked.
"If you mean Hunter making a fool out of himself, then it's already funny enough. He doesn't need us or Scorbunny to do that," Spyro said, making his new girlfriend laugh.
"I said stop!" Bianca said, waving her magic wand, making them freeze in a yellow magical aura. She looked right at Scorbunny.
"Look, Scorbunny, I think you're very cute and all, and I'm flattered you have a crush on me, but I don't feel anything for you, because my heart belongs to Hunter," Bianca said, shattering the rabbit Pokémon's heart. Saddened, Scorbunny took his leave. "I'm sorry." Scorbunny didn't look at her and just ran off with a broken heart.
Back to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Meowth, Wario, Waluigi, X, Zero, Axl, Crash, Coco, and Ice Man, they continued their hunt for Cortex in the icy regions, and fought their way across. They eventually found Dr. Cortex.
"There he is!" Coco said.
"Let's go down and get him," Sora said.
"Leave that to me," Zero said. He jumps high enough, not being seen by him. Cortex waits anxiously for a certain bandicoot to show up. Zero lands right in front of him.
"What the?! You're not the bandicoot!" Cortex exclaimed.
"I'm not even close to what you're expecting," Zero said, drawing his saber and points it at Cortex. "Make it easy for yourself and give it up!"
"I could do that. Or..." Cortex said, quickly taking out a laser gun and fires on the red Reploid. "Make it much harder for you and make you chase me!" He acivates a pair of skis from his shoes and he starts going down the mountain.
"Zero!" X gasped.
"As the the gingerbread man would say, run, run as fast as you can!" Cortex taunted.
"Come back here!" Sora yelled after him.
"Pika!" Pikachu called out to him.
"I can make something that can help!" Ice Man said, creating a sled big enough for them all. "Hop aboard!" Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Meowth, Wario, Waluigi, X, Zero, Axl, Crash, Coco, and Ice Man board the giant sled. Wario and Waluigi started to run to pick up the pace and began their pursuit.
"Oh, how I missed this!" Cortex said. He fired at various obstacles in his way. This included some rocks on his path, and some icicles above in some tunnels. X and Axl fired at the icicles, reducing them into smaller shards of ice. Cortex was heading for a blimp with a captial N on the side.
"That must be where he's heading!" Axl said.
"The trap's on the blimp?" Waluigi asked.
"Cortex has a nasty surprise waiting for us, and we have to get to him before he does!" Coco said. The chase continued on as Cortex reached the rope of his blimp. He grabs hold of it and climbs up. The sled makes a crash as the ice shatters. Meowth makes a landing on his feet and starts shivering.
"I can't feel my toes!" Meowth said.
"That's because they're buried in the snow," Axl said. Meowth pulls them out.
"So they are," Meowth said. "I could use a cup of hot chocolate right about now."
"You can have as much hot choclate you want after we're done here," Sora said.
"He's right. Cortex must be stopped!" X said. The blimp fires its ray onto the group and beams them up.
"How did we get here?" Kairi asked.
"I brought you all here," Cortex said, at the controls. "CRASH BANDICOOT. It's about time. This is going to be just like the old days... except this time everything will go according to my plan! Hahahahahahahaha!" The fight begins as the evil scientist presses some buttons. "I made a few upgrades to my blimp! Rain of Giant Deadly Missles!" Cortex's missles comes raining down. Sora and Kairi called out their Ice Type Pokémon to freeze the missles.
"Glalie, Mamoswine, Arctozolt, Walrein, Crabominable! Freeze those missles!" Sora ordered.
"Froslass, Jynx, Delibird, Dewgong, Mr. Rime! You do the same!" Kairi called out.
The Ice Type Pokémon freezes the missles while in the air. X, Zero, and Axl fires at the missles before they began to come down.
"Hey, no fair! Okay, try this! Punchbot Mark 2, deploy!" Cortex said, letting out a robot with boxing gloves. Crash spins at the robot just before the robot could attack.
"Ow! Punchbot 2 is for punching YOU! Not ME!" Cortex yelled.
"You didn't mention that!" Coco said.
Cortex activates more of the blimp's mechanics as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Meowth, Wario, Waluigi, X, Zero, Axl, Crash, Coco, and Ice Man started to wreck the machine Cortex was controlling.
"Hey, stop that! Don't do that! It took me forever to get it right!" Cortex cried.
"Sorry to throw a monkeywrench in your operations, bighead!" Sora taunted. They kept up the wreckage until the machine explodes.
"Not again!" Cortex cried. Cortex lands right on his face. He pulls himself off the floor and he begins to pound the floor. "Blasted bandicoots!"
"Hey, we're right here, ya know!" Meowth yelled. Cortex crawls on his knees.
"Must we keep going around and around like this?" Cortex asked. "Tell me, Crash, is this all there is, forever?" Crash shrugs awkwardly as Cortex groaned and dropped onto the floor. Suddenly a hologram of N. Tropy appears between Crash, Coco and Cortex, sending everyone jumping backwards in shock.
"I knew you would be unable to handle this simplest of tasks." N. Tropy gloated.
Cortex said, "Gloat all you want, I quit. If you need me, I'll be on a tropical island somewhere. Alone." He begins to storm off.
"How fortunate. You see, I no longer have need for our alliance. I've found a new partner... and a new plan," N. Tropy said. Cortex freezes and slowly turns around, outraged.
"You were scheming behind my back?!" Cortex exclaimed.
"Of course. My new partner is someone who I have in common with. I knew you would fail just the same as those incompetent fools, G. Gin and N. Brio did, but this is even better than expected since those meddlesome marsupials has formed an alliance with these meager beings!" N. Tropy said. Sora whispered to Coco.
"Who is this guy?" Sora asked.
"That's Dr. N. Tropy. He's the one who created that time machine we used to travel through time a while back. He was sent into the past along with Cortex and Uka Uka after Crash and I beat him," Coco whispered back.
"What do are you planning with your new partner?" X asked.
"I'm glad you asked. My new partner and I are going to erase the timeline and then, rebuild it into my own liking. That means, Cortex won't exist, and neither will any of you, including those filthy bandicoots!" N. Tropy said.
"Erase the timeline?!" X exclaimed in shock.
"No way!" Axl said.
"Oh yes! I will become a god! You are welcome to try and stop me, but I doubt it'll do you any good," N. Tropy said as he laughs. The hologram vanishes into the projector.
"Wiped from existence by that pompous peacock?! I'd like to see him try after I shove that tuning fork up his-" Cortex said before Coco interrupted him.
"BUT, not if we get him first," Coco said.
"Coco's right. N. Tropy is going to wipe out everyone and everything in all of existence! We cannot let that happen!" X said.
"It appears we have a common enemy. Perhaps there's a way out of our endless cycle after all," Cortex said. Crash runs forward and scoops up Cortex into a tight hug, nuzzling his cheek. Coco sighs as Meowth facepalms. "Huh? Okay... umm... hmmm... hm."
"So, how did you and him start going into the multiverse?" Sora asked.
"What do you mean how? We found a machine in my old castle, you know, the kind that lets us travel from one universe into another," Cortex explained. Coco knew what he was talking about when she realized she left the machine unguarded.
"Oops," Coco said.
"What do we do now?" Meowth asked.
"Head on back to Pallet Town and let everyone know what's going on!" Sora said. He makes contact with Alia and she activates a dimensional rift allowing Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Meowth, Wario, Waluigi, X, Zero, Axl, Crash, Coco, Ice Man, and Cortex to go on through.
"Sora, Kairi, welcome back," Alia greeted. She saw Cortex with them. "Who is this?"
"Alia, call everyone here, because we got ourselves a very, very, very, VERY huge problem," Sora said. Alia called up everyone residing in the mansion. Sora and Kairi explained that N. Tropy is planning to destroy all of existence and reset it to whatever he wants it to be. The news was not good at all.
"ERASE THE TIMELINE?! HE CAN'T DO THAT!" Brock exclaimed.
"He is the master of time, so he can, and he will if we don't pull the plug on him now," Coco said.
"The younger bandicoot brat is right. N. Tropy will pay for double-crossing me. So, we can form this temporary alliance in stopping him," Cortex said.
"We'll just go to your old castle and undo the damage before it gets worse," Shantae said.
"It's not as simple as you ay think. N. Tropy moved the machine into a spaceship in the Bergmugla's Orbit. That planet doesn't exist in this universe," Cortex said.
"Why should we do anything for you?" Ash asked.
"Because I'm the only one who knows where it is, and also, I'm the only one who can get you there. So, you have no choice but to trust me," Cortex said. Everyone was skeptical about letting him help out, but they couldn't afford to turn it down since it's the only chance they have in saving all of existence from imminent doom. Tails gets something ready.
"Here, doc, try this on," Tails said, handing him a small device. He takes it.
"What is this supposed to be?" Cortex asked as Tails activates it. It grapples his other hand and his feet, hogtie him. "What's the meaning of this?!"
"Just a little precaution, just in case you get any ideas about double-crossing us like he double-crossed you," Tails said. "And I think Sora should hold onto it." He gives it to Sora.
"How come, not Crash?" Coco asked. Tails looked right at Coco with a serious look on his face. Coco realized what it meant. "Right."
Over in the Galar region, the Galarian Zapdos senses something wrong as a dimensional rift opens up. The strong legs Pokémon. Elsewhere in Galar, an Articuno flies through the Galar skies. This Articuno has lavender coloration with a black marking covering its chest. Its feet are black with lavender talons. The three feathers of its crest, which are longer, fused, and folded to the back, have the same purple color as its beak and tail. Its eyes glow light blue, appear to be mostly closed, and are surrounded by a black, mask-like facial disc. When Articuno utilizes its psychic power, the entire mask glows the same color as its eyes, as do the white, feather-like blades of condensed psychic power at the edges of its wings. The Galarian Articuno senses it and flies through a dimensional rift. At another place in Galar region, a Moltres flies through the skies as well. Its body is primarily black with scarlet highlights and bright blue eyes. Its scarlet beak is hooked at the tip and leads to markings that run down its front and behind its head. Its feet are also scarlet with black talons. Its wings, crest, and tail are mostly black, with the crest having an extra curl at the front and the tail being split in two, and all three of these features exude a magenta, flame-like energy. The Galarian Moltres senses the same thing and goes through a dimensional rift. Solgaleo and Lunala. Mew, Mewtwo, Celebi, and Jirachi joins them in the fight. Regirock, Registeel, Regice, Regidrago, Regieleki, and Regigigas joins in the fight. Three more Pokémon joins in as well. One is an equine Pokémon with a white coat and has light-blue ice covering parts of its body. Its mane consists of ice spikes, with three rows behind its neck and a single large spike between its ears. Both have ice behind them, connecting to the mask of ice that covers its left face. Its eyes are white with no visible pupils. Its thin tail is covered in ice that has four spikes jutting out from the sides. Its legs have ice covering its hooves and fetlocks, with the front pair's ice extending to its knees. The other is an equine Pokémon with black fur and a purple marking covering the right side of its face extending to the back of its ears. Its left eye is closed with thick, mauve-colored eyelashes. Its purple mane is wavy, with the tips of its mane transitioning to mauve, while a fringe and its tail are completely mauve. It has slender legs marked with a purple sock pattern. Each of its purple hooves is detached from its legs at the pastern, and the rear pair of hooves are trailed by spectral mist. The third one is a bipedal Pokémon legs approximately twice as long as its torso. Four prongs grow from its head to support a green bud resembling a type of crown, much larger than its head. A ring of green spheres, marked with an inlaid series of blue and white triangles, adorns its neck.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth gets set to head for the Bergmugla's Orbit to stop N. Tropy's scheme. Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Ash, Brock, May, Max, and Ash's Pikachu comes along as well. The rest stayed behind to wait for word from Sora. The dimensional rift opens up as Sora, Kairi Sora's Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Ash, Ash's Pikachu, Brock, May, Max, Crash, Coco, Cortex, and Dingodile all arrive in a huge space station. One the station are two more figures. One is a man with brown hair, tan skin, and black dotted eyes. He wore a top hat, brown coat over a dark orange shirt, brown pants, and a pair of dark green shoes. The second figure is a boy peach skin, rosy cheeks and light brown hair in a pointed style, with a fleck of hair in between his eyes. He has black eyes. He wore a white collar shirt, blue sweater, viridian shorts with brown falling suspenders, white socks, brown Mary Jane shoes and a flat blue cap, and has light brown hair. He also carries around a large brown leather satchel that contains a notebook.
"Who are you two?" Sora asked.
"I am Professor Herschel Layton. And this is my protégé Luke Triton," Professor Layton introduced.
"How do you do?" Luke greeted.
"How did you end up here?" Ash asked.
"They're with me," a familiar voice spoke from behind Professor Layton and Luke. It belonged to Tawna. "I found them lost out there. I filled them both in on the whole time-space, you know thing."
"A gentleman should assist in anyway as he can; especially assisting a lady," Professor Layton said.
"Anyway, I'm Sora. This is my girlfriend Kairi, along with my Pikachu. This is Ash and his Pikachu, along with Dingodile, Brock, May, and Max. This is Crash and his sister Coco, and Crash's enemy Dr. Cortex," Sora introduced.
"So, you're on the trail of N. Tropy, too?" Ash asked.
"I am," Tawna said.
"Same here," Sora said.
A familiar voice spoke, "Silence, whelp!"
Another voice spoke, "But, sir!"
"You try my patience, Oxide," N. Tropy said. They all notice a large monitor right by the platform they were standing on. They see N. Tropy along with a female version of himself. With them is a green alien who seems to resemble a mantis. He is very tall and has a skinny, droopy, elephant-like trunk with yellow stripes across it. His mouth is at the end of his trunk, with sharp, pointy teeth and darker green lips. He has a large head with yellow stripes going up from the tops of his eyes (slightly resembling the carapace of a green June beetle), and yellow-orange sacs on the sides of his head. He has black eyes with yellow scleras, red-orange eyebags and thick dark brown eyebrows.
"But," the alien said.
"Now, now. I'm sure this insect knows how to obey orders," said the female N. Tropy, grabbing Oxide's snout and tugs on it.
"N. Tropy!" Cortex and Tawna said in unison, pointing at the versions they know. Cortex and Tawna looks at each other in confusion.
"Take your ship to Planet Bermugula and be on the lookout for ships approaching The Rift Generator. We can't afford any unwanted visitors," the female N. Tropy said, letting go of Oxide's snout.
"At once, your foulness," Oxide obeyed.
"You manage our affairs with such poise," N. Tropy flirted.
"Naturally. As do you," the female N. Tropy flirted back.
N. Tropy smirks at the female N. Tropy. The female N. Tropy flirtatiously smiles back. Oxide looks back and forth between the two, looking uncomfortable and disgusted. N. Tropy growls softly and makes a claw motion at the female N. Tropy. She bites her lip and chuckles under her breath. Sora, Kairi, the Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Ash, Brock, May, Max, Crash, Coco, Cortex, Tawna, Professor Layton, and Luke watched on uncomfortably as Dingodile just smirks.
"That's weird," Ash said.
"Pikachu," Ash's Pikachu agreed.
"That's just wrong," Sora said. Meowth makes a puke face. Angel looks away in disgust as did Sora's Pikachu. Professor Layton covers his eyes as well as his own.
"Avert your eyes, Luke," Professor Layton said. May does the same thing.
"I think I lost my appetite on dinner," May said.
"No, no, no!" Kairi said, disgusted.
"I heard of loving yourself, but that's just too literal!" Brock said.
"Blaurgh!" Coco said in disgust as Cortex shakes his head in disgust.
"Barf!" Tawna said.
Dingodile nudges Crash and points at the monitor as he chuckled.
"Change the channel!" Sora said as the N. Tropies were still flirting with each other. "HOW DO YOU TURN IT OFF?!" Cortex fires at the monitor.
"Aw, it was getting good," Dingodile pouted.
"Seriously?" May asked.
"We should split up. We can cover the space station that way," Sora said.
"We can prevent Oxide from flying his ship by holding it in a tractor beam," Cortex said.
"You sure that's a good idea?" May asked.
"Don't forget, I know how to get there," Cortex said.
"I'm going with you, just to keep an eye on you," Sora said. Cortex scoffs.
"You and me? I don't think so. I know this place like I know the back of my ha-" Cortex said as Sora uses the button to hogtie him again. "Okay, okay, I'll take you along! Just untie me!" Sora does that.
"No tricks now," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Sora's Pikachu said.
"You head for Oxide's ship! We'll keep it from leaving!" Sora said.
"On it!" Coco said.
Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Professor Layton, Luke, and Tawna went for the ship as Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, Max, the Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Cortex started to make their way to the tractor beam.
"So, where's the main controls?" Sora asked.
"Down this way! We gotta hurry before they take off!" Cortex said.
"Lead they way, Cortex!" Brock said.
Over to Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Tawna, Professor Layton, and Luke, they rushed through the space station. They came across several alien guards as they bested them.
"Let's hurry! The ship should be taking off at any moment!" Tawna said.
Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, Max, the Pokémon, and Cortex were getting closer to the controls when Oxide's voice is heard on the intercom.
"Ship launch in 10, 9, ugh. I should have started at 3," Oxide said over the com. "BLAST OFF!" Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, Max, the Pokémon, and Cortex all entered the control room.
"No!" Ash cried.
"The ship's getting away!" May said.
Cortex frantically searches for the ship's tractor beam controls and begins pressing random buttons. A recording of Oxide's voice begins to play from the computer.
"September 9th, entry seven. Dear Diary; that rash still hasn't gone away, and-" Cortex shakes his head and continues to press buttons until he finally finds the correct one.
"And that is why you should never let anyone see or hear your diary," Meowth said.
The tractor beam activates and holds the ship. Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Tawna, Professor Layton, and Luke all saw the ship, stay in place.
"It worked!" Luke said.
"Now to we simply board," Professor Layton said.
They all agreed and all went for the ship. Cortex activates a force field around The trainers and the Pokémon to reach Oxide's ship.
Crash, Coco, and Tawna, all boarded the ship first, while Dingodile, Professor Layton, and Luke waited for Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, Max, the Pokémon, and Cortex to arrive on Oxide's ship. Crash and Coco look over the iPad and sees the map of the ship.
"It looks like we're en route to the Rift Generator. But we'd be a lot faster in," Coco said, spotting a nearby hovercraft, "that!" Just as the siblings go to approach the kart, a ropes shoots out and ties them together. Tawna reveals herself as the culprit as she steps forward to tighten the knot. "What the?! Tawna?!"
"I'm not losing you guys in this dimension, too. I'll handle this," Tawna said. Tawna jumps into the hovercraft and takes off through the airlock.
"But," Coco said, "we're a team."
Tawna looks back briefly, but soon returns her focus to flying, a glare of determination on her face.Sora, Kairi, Ash, Brock, May, Max, the Pokémon, and Cortex meets with Dingodile, Professor Layton, and Luke and finds them tied up.
"Crash! Coco!" Sora exclaimed. "Who did this?"
"It was Tawna. She tied us up. And she took the hovercraft we needed to get off," Coco said.
"What?! She tied you up and went on ahead?" Brock asked.
"Why would she just do that?" Luke asked.
"It doesn't matter. All that matters is we get to the generator and stop the N. Tropies before it's too late," Sora said.
"Sora's right. All of existence is depending on us," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"How are we gonna get there?" Meowth asked.
"We can help," a voice spoke. The group all turned to see Mewtwo and several other legendary Pokémon and the Unown.
"Mewtwo?" Sora asked.
"Why are all of you here?" Kairi asked.
"Solgaleo and Lunala contacted us and told us what was at stake. We had to come and help," Mewtwo said. Sora took a look and saw they were legendary Pokémon recognized, but different in others.
"Articuno and Moltres?" Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the Galarian bird Pokémon.
Articuno Galarian Form, the Cruel Pokémon
Type: Psychic/Flying
Known as Articuno, this Pokémon fires beams that can immobilize opponents as if they had been frozen solid. Its feather-like blades are composed of psychic energy and can shear through thick iron sheets as if they were paper.
Moltres Galarian Form, the Malevolent Pokémon
Type: Dark/Flying
This Pokémon's sinister, flame-like aura will consume the spirit of any creature it hits. Victims become burned-out shadows of themselves. The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres.
"Thought so," Sora said as he looked at Zacian and Zamazenta. "Zacian and Zamazenta?" Sora scanned them both.
Zacian, the Warrior Pokémon
Type: Fairy
Known as a legendary hero, this Pokémon absorbs metal particles, transforming them into a weapon it uses to battle. This Pokémon has slumbered for many years. Some say it's Zamazenta's elder sister—others say the two Pokémon are rivals.
Zamazenta, the Warrior Pokémon
Type: Fighting
In times past, it worked together with a king of the people to save the Galar region. It absorbs metal that it then uses in battle. This Pokémon slept for aeons while in the form of a statue. It was asleep for so long, people forgot that it ever existed.
"The legendary Pokémon of Galar," Sora said, looking at Regigas, Regieleki and Regidraco. He uses his Pokédex to scan them.
Regidraco, the Dragon Orb Pokémon
Type: Dragon
An academic theory proposes that Regidrago's arms were once the head of an ancient dragon Pokémon. The theory remains unproven. Its body is composed of crystallized dragon energy. Regidrago is said to have the powers of every dragon Pokémon.
Regieleki, the Electron Pokémon
Type: Electric
Its entire body is made up of a single organ that generates electrical energy. It's said that removing the rings on Regieleki's body will unleash the Pokémon's latent power.
Regigigas, the Colassal Pokémon
Type: Normal
All over the world, there are legends that tell of Regigigas creating other Pokémon in its own image. It is said doing so is the result of the formation of the continents today.
Sora looked over to the three remaining Pokémon and scanned them.
Glastrier, the Wild Horse Pokémon
Type: Ice
Glastrier emits intense cold from its hooves. It's also a belligerent Pokémon—anything it wants, it takes by force. Glastrier has tremendous physical strength, and the mask of ice covering its face is 100 times harder than diamond.
Spectrier, the Swift Horse Pokémon
Type: Ghost
As it dashes through the night, Spectrier absorbs the life-force of sleeping creatures. It craves silence and solitude. It probes its surroundings with all its senses save one—it doesn't use its sense of sight. Spectrier's kicks are said to separate soul from body.
Calyrex, the King Pokémon
Type: Psychic/Grass
Calyrex is said to have ruled the Galar region as a merciful king in ancient times. It has the power to cause hearts to mend and plants to spring forth.
Sora puts his Pokédex away and looks right at them.
"Can you get us over to the Rift Generator and shut help shut it down?" Sora asked.
"Yes. That is why we are here," Solgaleo said.
"What the N. Tropies will do is destroy all balances in existence if it has not halted, no being in existence will be spared, not even Arceus," Lunala said.
"No," Sora said.
"More reason to save everything," Coco said.
With that said, the legendary Pokémon assisted the hereos in stopping the N. Tropies.
Over to Tawna, she is knocked back by a blast of energy. Both N. Tropies smirk at her maliciously before the female N. Tropy lashes out with her tuning fork, knocking Tawna to the ground. The female N. Tropy picks up Tawna by catching her neck between the prongs of her tuning fork, looking her in the face as she struggles to get out.
"What's the matter, hero? Couldn't solo this one?" The female N. Tropy taunted.
"Let her go!" Sora called out. The group and the legendary Pokémon all arrive on the scene before the N. Tropies.
"The last time I killed her friends, her screams were exquisite," the female N. Tropy said. Sora, Kairi, Crash, and Coco all gasp in horror, knowing the truth.
"What?" Coco asked.
"Delicious!" N. Tropy flirted.
"No!" Tawna yelled in fear. Sora realized that it was true that her Crash and Coco did die, and Tawna didn't want to tell them. Sora changes from horror to anger.
"You killed her Crash and Coco?!" Sora shouted in anger.
"Yes I did. And I enjoyed doing it! And if I the chance to kill them again and again, I would do so in an instant, but business before pleasure," the female N. Tropy said.
"You cold-blooded witch!" Sora hissed.
The female N. Tropy chuckled as she took it as a compliment, "Why thank you for the flattery."
"I would say it's almost a shame to kill all of you, but I would be lying," N. Tropy said.
"You won't get away with this!" May yelled.
"We already have!" N. Tropy said as he and his counterpart laughed evilly. "Let's make this fun. Give them a sporting chance!"
"Ooh!" The female N. Tropy said as she threw Tawna back over to them. "Let's see what you mongrels can do as a pack!"
The whole group looks up in fear. The N. Tropys slam their tuning forks into the group in unison, making a massive burst of energy that sends the group unconscious. The legendary Pokémon catches them all as they all regained consciousness. His partner wakes up as well.
"Guys," Sora said.
"Sora!" A voice said. Sora looked over to Crash. Crash looked right at him. He looked at him with determination.
"Crash?! You can talk?!" Sora exclaimed in shock. He shook it off. "You're right, Crash. We have to stop them right here and now! N. Tropy! You won't have your way today! You won't have your way on any day!" Sora looked over to Glastrier and rode on the wild horse Pokémon. He grabs Crash and rode on behind Sora. Cortex regains consciousness as he got on the back of Spectrier and rode on with Sora and Crash. Kairi gets on the Galarian Zapdos's back and rode off behind them. Tawna rides on the Galarian Moltres as Coco rides on the Galarian Articuno. Professor Layton, Luke, and Dingodile rode on Solgaleo as they rode after them. The rest of the legendary Pokémon all followed. They make it back to the N. Tropies, seeing them still alive.
"Look at this. They still think they have a chance against us," N. Tropy said.
"How droll," the female N. Tropy said.
Glastrier gallopped as Sora and Crash held on. As Sora rode on he could hear the voices of his ancestors speaking to him.
"A knight is sworn to valor!" A voice spoke. Sora looks around. "Sora, I am the voice of your ancestors. You must stop them, Sora, for they are those who wish to do harm to the innocent. A knight is to protect the innocent. The strong is to defend to defend the weak. The valiant is to slay the wicked. Go now, Sora! Save everything you value the most." Sora could only hear the voices of his ancestors.
"I am proud of you, son," a new voice spoke. Sora knew the voice. He couldn't remember where he had heard it before. "Proud of everything you have accomplished. My only regret is that I am not alive to see what kind of man you will become among the living. And I am with you in spirit. You and your mother. She has done a wonderful job at raising you. I was happy to have her as my wife, because we ended up with you as our son. Promise me that you will protect everything and everyone you love." Sora sighed.
"I promise, dad," Sora said in his thoughts. An azure energy surrounds Sora, surprising Crash. Glastrier rode on forward as Spectrier followed after. Cortex held on.
"Easy there, horsey! Slow down there, Mr. Ed! Don't knock me off!" Cortex said.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Sora's Pikachu fired Thunderbolt and it struck the barrier. "Glastrier! Icicle Crash!" Glatrier neighs as it sends out icicles at the barrier. He looked over to Spretrier as well. "Spectrier! Shadow Ball!" Spectrier forms a ball of shadow and sends it right at the barrier. It struck the barrier, catching their attention completely.
"What do we have here? Our lost puppies have found their way home," the female N. Tropy said.
"Then, let's put them out of their misery," N. Tropy said, using his tuning fork. Sora and Crash got off of Glastrier as Cortex got off of Spectrier. Everyone else all arrived on the scene. "This ends here and now!"
"You're right, N. Tropy," Sora said, catching Cortex off guard. "It does end here and now. Right now!" He looked over to the Galarian Zapdos, getting an idea. "Zapdos! Thunderous Kick!" Sora ordered. The Galarian Zapdos jumped and its long leg emits orange lightning and gave N. Tropy a devastating kick. He has his tuning fork in defense. "Articuno! Freezing Glare! Moltres! Fiery Wrath!" The Galarian Articuno and Moltres fire their attacks at the N. Tropies, but they blocked with energy from their tuning forks. He looked over to the other legendary Pokémon. "Regice! Ice Beam! Regirock! Ancient Power! Registeel! Flash Cannon! Regigigas! Giga Impact! Regieleki! Thunder Cage! Regidraco! Dragon Energy! Latios! Latias! Mist Ball! Latios! Luster Purge! Calyrex Expanding Force! Unown! Hidden Power!" All of the legendary Pokémon all launched their attacks as the N. Tropies blocked them all. Sora turned to Crash. "Crash! Now!" Crash nodded as he does his spin attack and sends them both at the generator.
"Curse you," N. Tropy started.
"...bandicoots," the female N. Tropy finished.
Sora and Crash gave each other a high-five.
"Good work, Crash! The legendary Pokémon did a good job while you made the finishing blow," Sora said.
"We did it!" Coco said.
"Yeah, we did!" Tawna said, as she and Coco high-five each other. Cortex walks over to N. Tropy to gloat.
"What's the matter? Unable to handle even this simplest of tasks? I no longer have need for our-" Cortex gloated as Dingodile cuts him off when he whacks the N. Tropies with his tail, sending them flying.
"Bloody bags," Dingodile said.
"...alliance," Cortex finished.
They go flying into a dimensional rift together.
"Now to make sure this place is never used ever again!" Sora said.
The legendary Pokémon all destroy the generator as several dimensional rifts opens and they all go back through them. The legendary Pokémon all return to their respected homes as the group all go back to Pallet Town with a raging success.
"Sora! Did you-?" Alia asked.
"It's over for now. N. Tropy is sent somewhere else in the multiverse. Along with his alternate self," Sora said.
"That's good to know," Mega Man said.
"So, now what?" Blaze asked.
"We deal with the Brotherhood of Darkness, that's what," Kairi said.
"Right. Also," Sora said, activating the hogtie machine, hogting Cortex again.
"Hey! What are you doing? I didn't double-cross you once!" Cortex exclaimed.
"Crash and Coco told us about you and they don't want to take any chances with you by you double-crossing us," Sora said.
"You are a sly one, I'll give you that," Cortex said.
"What do we do with him?" Tawna asked.
"We just keep an eye on him constantly," Sora said. "Just to make sure he doesn't do anything to get away." Cortex is still tied up and thrown in a room. Cortex wasn't going to take that lightly.
"You won this time, but I will have my moment in the sun soon anough. Just you wait. Just you wait," Cortex said.
What could Cortex have planned for Sora, Kairi, and the other heroes? Will the Brotherhood of Darkness recruit him into their ranks? And what was that blue energy Sora was giving off before? The two-part finale of the multiverse arc shall reveal it all.
