Episode 324: Sora vs Mars
After catching a Buneary of her own, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth all arrived in Jublife City. As they entered through they all noticed how large the city is."Wow, who would have thought this city was huge," Sora said.
"Well, Jublife City is the largest city in the entire Sinnoh region," Terra said.
"So cool," Ventus said. Aqua took him by the shoulder.
"Ven, stay close," Aqua said.
"So, which way to we get to the Pokémon Center?" Sora asked.
"I can help you there," a girl's voice spoke. The voice belonged to a girl with short orange-red hair that is styled in a similar way to Ash. She also has brownish-red eyes, and a dark magenta shirt under a light orange vest, and pale blue jeans with black sunglasses above her hair. She wore red socks and brown boots with grey brown laces. She also wore a small necklace around her neck and has a pink watch-like device on her left wrist. With her is a Glameow. "I can help get you there since you don't seem be from around here and you wouldn't know where to look."
"We appreciate it," Kairi said. The girl looked right at Kairi. She was confused by her expression. "Something I can help you with?"
"Sorry. It's just you very familiar. Aren't you Kairi, the Pokémon Coordinator who won first place in the Hoenn Grand Festival?" The girl asked.
"Yes I am. And you are?" Kairi asked.
"Zoey. A Pokémon Coordinator, same as you. And I just wanna say is, I was looking forward in meeting you in person," Zoey said.
"Thanks," Kairi said. "This is my boyfriend Sora and his cousin Ventus, but we call him Ven. This guy here is Terra, and this is Aqua." Ventus noticed Glameow with her.
"Hey, look at this," Ventus said. Sora, Terra, and Aqua looked at the cat Pokémon with her. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.
Glameow, the Catty Pokémon
Type: Normal
When this Pokémon is happy, Glameow demonstrates beatiful movements of its tail, like a dancing ribbon. Also, it purrs out of affection and claws if it is displeased. Its frickleness is very popular among some.
"Judging how your Glameow looks, you did a good job raising it," Sora said.
"Thanks. That means a lot. Anyway, are any of you taking part of the Jubilife Contest taking place in a few days?" Zoey asked.
"I am. And a friend of ours is going to be a part of the contest," Kairi said.
"Cool. I'll lead you there," Zoey said. Zoey led the group to the Pokémon Center since she was heading there herself. "So, Sora, isn't it? Since you're not taking part of a Pokémon Contest, then what brings you here?"
"Just here to support her. I mean, what kind of boyfriend would that make me if I didn't?" Sora asked.
"As every boyfriend should be. Are you taking part of the Sinnoh Pokémon League?" Zoey asked.
"Yeah I am. We made a stop to Jubilife City on our way Oreburgh City. Gives me time to get ready for it," Sora said.
"At least you're not doing both Contests and Gym battles," Zoey said. This confuses Sora.
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"Well, it's my personal opinion that either they choose either Gym battle or a Contest. It's not right for someone to choose both," Zoey said. "But for the record, I have nothing against trainers who chose Gym battles." Sora was relieved to know Zoey didn't hold any grudge against him since she had just met him. As they arrived in the Pokémon Center, Sora and Kairi checked their Pokémon to rest. After arriving, Sora went to the phone to make a call. He makes contact with Professor Oak's lab. Professor Oak appeared on the screen.
"Sora, my boy. Good to hear from you. Where are you right now?" Professor Oak asked.
"We're in Jubilfe City. Kairi is taking part of a Pokémon Contest that'll be taking place in a few days," Sora said.
"I see. I presume things are going well while you're in the Sinnoh region?" Professor Oak asked.
"Yeah. Kairi and I have caught ourselves some new Pokémon, coutning the Starly and Croagunk I sent," Sora said.
"You are well on your way. In fact Gary has informed me that you all arrived safely," Professor Oak said.
"Also, there's more," Sora said.
"Yes?" Professor Oak asked, intrigued.
"The egg that I got from here in Sinnoh hatched into a Riolu, but there's something that'll knock your socks off," Sora said.
"Really? What can be so special about your new Riolu, Sora?" Professor Oak asked.
"The thing is, my new Riolu can use Aura Sphere. I know it sounds nuts, but it's true. I looked it up on my Pokédex myself," Sora said. Professor Oak stroked his chin.
"Interesting. A Riolu that can use Aura Sphere. Normally, that'll be impossible, because Riolu can only be able to use Aura Sphere after evolving into a Lucario. I hope you don't mind, Sora, but I would likeyou to send me your Riolu just so I can do some test this ability of Riolu," Professor Oak said.
"Okay. I'll send Riolu over to your lab," Sora said.
"Also, I was wondering if you met Professor Rowan yet?" Professor Oak asked.
"No," Sora said.
"Well, you will have your chance because he should be arrving in Jubilife City, so be sure to meet him when you have a chance," Professor Oak said.
"Sure," Sora said.
"And I'll be sure to inform Kairi's family about the upcoming Contest," Professor Oak said.
"She'll appreciate that very much," Sora said.
"Best of luck for you both, Sora," Professor Oak said. He breaks contact with Sora as he waited for his Pokémon to be ready. Once the couple's Pokémon were better, Sora sends Riolu to Professor Oak's lab and he brings Starly back with him. The couple went to eat in the messhall, eating their selected meals. After they ate, Sora and Kairi decided to train for their goals. Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill all arrived in the Pokémon Center, looking for Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua. Sora and Kairi smiled warmly as they saw their friends.
"Riku! Hey!" Sora greeted.
"Sora! Good to see you!" Riku greeted. They both fist bumped. "I was hoping to run into you real you."
"Right back at you since we last spoke," Sora said.
"We're just glad we caught up with you before the Contest got started," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Good thing," Naminé added.
"How did you get here at the same time as us?" Ventus asked.
"It was Professor Rowan who took us here. When we told him that we knew Gary from way back, he was nice of enough to let us hitch a ride with him," Naminé said.
"Azu, Azu," Azurill chirped.
"Is Professor Rown even here?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, he said something some research. Why?" Riku asked.
"Professor Oak recommended that we meet up with him," Sora said.
"Okay," Riku said.
Over to the lab, Professor Rowan had arrived to the facility. A research staff member approches him.
"Professor Rowan, good of you to come," a young man said.
"Dr. Arthurs. I'm hoping to see your research on the Porygon evolution line," Professor Rowan said.
"Yes and more," Dr. Arthurs said. The younger researcher led the senior researcher to his lab. Unknown to them, a pair of Team Galactic grunts were watching them walk by, disguised as scientists. One of them speaks into a communicator watch.
"The target has approached," one of the grunts reported.
"Excellent. Keep watch until we get there," Mars instructed.
"Affirmative," the grunt said.
Over to Professor Rowan and Dr. Arthurs, he led him to a giant computer screen. Some of the scientists were typing the information they had on the Porygon they had. The other piece of data they had was regarding this mysterious world.
"What is it that you wished to show me?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Just have a look. This may amaze you," Dr. Arthurs said. He turned to his staff. "Activate the monitor."
"Yes sir, Dr. Arthurs," one of the researchers said, turning on the monitor on the computer screen. The monitor shows a small band of Porygon roaming the strange world. Inside it are a bunch more creatures in it. With the Porygon are small black creatures with yellow eyes, and there were some pink creatures with red eyes and ear-like appendages on its head. Also there were small red creatures with three feeler-like things growing on its head. With them are small creatures with orange fur, a white face, and a large horn on the head and red eyes. Flying over the monitor's camera is a bee-like creature with purple wings each with an eye-like symbol.
"What are we looking at?" Professor Rowan asked.
"The world of the Porygon family," Dr. Arthurs said. "I have been looking into this for many years. I was astounded when I discovered of living data by accident." Professor Rowan raised a brow.
"Living data?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Yes. The creatures inside it are sentient data, created by human beings without anyone realizing it. So, I wanted you to come and witness this with your own eyes," Dr. Arthurs said.
"Astounding," Professor Rowan said.
Back at the Pokémon Center, Scorbunny and Buneary started getting close as they were training along with the other Pokémon. Pikachu and Angel thought that they would be a cute pair. Coming up to the group of Pokémon is a small feline Pokémon resembling either a lion cub or a lynx kitten. Its front half is light blue, while the rear is black. There is a short tuft of fur on its head and smaller tufts on each cheek. It has large, oval ears with yellow, star-shaped markings on the insides, yellow eyes, and a tiny, red nose. A black marking encircles Shinx's neck like a collar, and there are yellow bands above its forepaws. The hind paws are black on the male Shinx and blue on the female. Spiked fur surrounds the base of its long tail, which is tipped with a yellow star shape. The Pokémon gives off some electricity as Pikachu did the same thing. Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Riku, and Naminé took notice.
"Whoa, what kind of Pokémon is that?" Ventus asked.
"It's a Shinx," Riku said.
"Shinx, huh?" Sora asked taking out his Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.
Shinx, the Flash Pokémon
Type: Electric
This Pokémon generates electricity by contracting its muscles.The electricity also makes its fur glow. Shinx sends signals to others of its kind by shaking the tip of its tail while the tail tip is shining brightly. Excited trembling is a sign that Shinx is generating a tremendous amount of electricity.
"Oh, he's so cute!" Kairi cooed.
"Wonder if he belongs to someone here," Sora said.
"Shinx is my Pokémon!" A familiar voice called out. The voice belonged to Lucas as he shows up, looking for Shinx. He froze when he saw Sora and his friends. "Sora! Kairi! Hey! Knew you would show up."
"Hey Lucas," Sora greeted. He saw Riku and Naminé as well.
"Riku, it's good to finally meet you in person," Lucas said.
"Same to you," Riku said.
"And you're Naminé, right? Nice to meet you," Lucas said. He looked right at the blonde.
"Nice to meet you too, Lucas," Naminé said.
"I can see you caught this Shinx," Sora said.
"Yeah. Shinx has been quite a handful, so he hasn't really accepted me as a trainer yet," Lucas said.
"Is Shinx the only one you caught?" Ventus asked.
"No Ven, I also caught a Starly and a Growlithe. Took me a while to do it, especially with Turtwig being a Grass Type. But it was totally worth it," Lucas said
"So, has Dawn or Barry shown up yet?" Aqua asked.
"Barry said he was heading for Oreburgh City ahead of us. I haven't seen Dawn yet," Lucas said. His face tinted pink every time he thinks of her. Naminé spoke up.
"Who's Barry?" Naminé asked.
"Barry is my best friend. He started his Pokémon journey same as me and Dawn," Lucas said.
"We already met him as you can tell. He, Lucas, and Dawn got their starter Pokémon from Professor Rowan," Sora said.
"That's right, Gary did mention about the three beginning Pokémon of the Sinnoh region," Riku said.
"And we were going to meet up with Professor Rowan when we met you," Sora said.
"Professor Rowan's here? You don't mind if I come along, do you?" Lucas asked.
"Not at all," Sora said.
"But, before we do, I was wondering if you would have a battle with me. I wanna test out my Starly and Growlithe," Lucas said. Sira smiled.
"Okay, I can do that. We both could use a warm-up," Sora said. Both trainers went to the battlefield in the back as they both prepared to battle. Lucas is using his Shinx first. Sora decided to use his own Turtwig since Electric Type attacks won't do much damage to Turtwig. Riku wondered how tough his Turtwig is.
"Shinx! Go! Start things up with your
Tackle!" Lucas ordered. Shinx ran towards Turtwig with the full force of his body.
"Turtwig! Dodge and use Bite!" Sora ordered. Turtwig avoids Shinx and lands a bite onto Shinx.
"Thunder Shock!" Lucas ordered. Shinx gave Turtwig quite a shock. Thunder Shock was nothing compared to a Thunderbolt as he felt. Turtwig lets go of Shinx. "Now, use Bite!" Shinx charged towards Turtwig to land a bite of his own.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora said.Tutrtwig fires Razor Leaf right at Shinx.
"Dodge and use Bite!" Lucas ordered. Shinx avoided Turtwig's Razor Leaf and moved in to deliver Bite.
"Keep firing Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Turtwig did keep firing Razor Leaf and the flash Pokémon fot struck with Razor Leaf. "Move in with Tackle!" Turtwig charges at Shinx and lands a finishing blow onto Shinx, earning a knockout. Lucas calls Shinx right back.
"Good job, Shinx. You were awesome," Lucas said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Starly!" His Starly comes out to battle. Sora calls Turtwig back and looked right at Pikachu. "Okay then, Pikachu. You're turn!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said. He went on the battlefield to fight Starly.
"Starly! Quick Attack!" " Lucas ordered. Starly dashed right right to Pikachu to land a hit.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and hurls it right at Starly.
"Double Team!" Lucas ordered. Starly uses Double Team to make several images of itself. "Now, use Heat Wave!" Starly flaps its wings and makes a gust of red-orange wind, hitting Pikachu. This causes Pikachu to have some severe burns.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu sends out a Thunderbolt right at Starly, but misses his target as one of the duplicates vanished.
"Wing Attack!" Lucas ordered. Starly sticks its wings out and struck Pikachu on the mark. Pikachu got hurt by the burns. "One more Heat Wave!" Starly sends out another Heat Wave and lands a hit onto Pikachu. He was taken out. Angel rushes to Pikachu's side and nuzzles him. The mouse Pokémon got back up and assures her that he's okay.
"Get some rest, Pikachu. You've earned it," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said. Lucas calls his Starly back and took out his third Pokéball.
"Your turn now, Growlithe!" Lucas called out as he threw it. His Growlithe barks as it makes its entry. Sora took out another Pokéball.
"Your turn now, Piplup!" Sora called out as he threw it and Piplup came right out to battle.
"Growlithe! Flame Wheel!" Lucas ordered. Growlithe forms a ball of fire and rolls right towards the penguin Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Piplup dodges Growlithe's Flame Wheel and fires Bubble Beam right at the puppy Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Fire Spin!" Lucas ordered. Growlithe fires Fire Spin to strike Piplup.
"Dodge and use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Piplup avoids Growlithe's Fire Spin and fires Hydro Pump. Growlithe got hit by Growlithe and does some heavy damage. "Now use Pound!" Piplup lands a pound onto the puppy Pokémon. "Now use Bubble Beam!" Piplup fires Bubble Beam right at Growlithe, earning a knockout. Lucas was dumbfounded for a moment before he started smiling.
"You were awesome, Sora," Lucas said, shaking his hand. "There's no shame in losing to you."
"Thanks Lucas. You're a pretty good trainer, Lucas," Sora said. Both Sora and Lucas shook each other hands, becoming rivals in the process. They promised each other another battle in the near future.
Now that the battle had concluded, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth head to meet with Professor Rowan, joined by Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, and Lucas to meet with Professor Rowan.
Over to the lab, Mars along with the rest of the Team Galactic grunts. They entered the lab, cathing the attention of the rest of the researchers.
"Hey, who are you? You can't just barge in like you own the place!" One of the researchers said. One of the grunts threw a Pokéball and lets out a few Zubat, Beautifly, Dustox, Croagunk, Glameow, along with some other new Pokémon. One is a flat, circular, blue-green Pokémon. Six dark blue spheres bulge from its rim. It has two round, yellow eyes and a large nose-like sphere surrounded by four small circles in its center. A crest resembling anherbor branch is on its back. Another is a small dark purple skunk-like Pokémon. Its face is large and rounded, with a narrow orange nose, orange-rimmed eyes, and two pairs of somewhat "V"-shaped cream-colored whiskers on the sides of its face. It has two pointed ears that appear orange on the inside. A stripe of cream-colored fur runs along its back from the neck to the tail, with a small tuft protruding from the base of the neck. Its tail is raised high and ends with spiked hair pointed behind it. It has a cream-colored underbelly, and four short legs, that end in paws with three small, white claws.
"Bronzor! Confusion!" One of the grunts ordered.
"Stunky! Smog!" Another grunt ordered.
Bronzor uses Confusion to hold the scientists down as Stunky unleashed a smog from its mouth. The scientists all cough as they had inhaled the smoke.
"Beauifly, Dustox! String Shot!" Two more grunts ordered. The strings ties the scientists, but two.
"They have been neutralized, Commander Mars," one of the grunts reported.
"I can see that," Mars said. She looked at the disguised grunts as they ditched their disguises. The scientists were shocked to see the two scientists were one of them.
"You're one of them?!" The first researcher exclaimed.
"Shut up!" One of the double agent grunts said, gagging them.
"Throw them outside where they won't be any trouble," Mars ordered.
"Yes Commander Mars," one of the grunts said, throwing them out. Dr. Arthurs and Professor Rowan were going over the research as Smog came into the room.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Dr. Arthurs exclaimed. He saw Galactic Commander and grunts. "Who are you?! And what are you doing in here?!"
"I believe I know of them. They must be Team Galactic," Professor Rowan said.
"And we know who you are, Professor Rowan. And we have use for you," Mars said.
"And what do you want with me?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Your research on the legendary Pokémon Cresselia and Darkrai. We know you have it," Mars said.
"You cannot be serous! What for?" Professor Rowan asked.
"That is for us to know. Now, give us that knowledge!" Mars demanded.
"Never!" Professor Rowan defied.
"Wait! You mean this isn't about my research?" Dr. Arthurs asked, earning String Shot from Beautifly and Dustox. Dr. Arthurs is taken outside along with the other researchers. Out of the screen, Porygon and the small orange dinosaur comes out.
"What just happened?" The dinosaur asked. Mars took out a Pokéball and threw it to let out her Purugly.
"Purugly! Slash!" Mars ordered. Purugly swipes its claws at the dinosaur, but Porygon fires Psybeam at it. They both start to run for it. The grunts attempted to go after them. "Let them go! It's the research data on Cresselia and Darkrai we're after! Find it!"
The dinosaur and virtual Pokémon came running out and hid behind a couple of trash cans. He sticks his head out and looks around.
"Where are we?" The dinosaur asked. He sniffed the air. "I smell something. It smells good. It smells like food." The dinosaur hears a growling sound behind him. He backs up and he sees an angry Arcanine behind him. "Oh, hello." The Arcanine attacks with a Thunder Fang, making him run. He ran across the city. No one could get a good look because he was running too fast. He ran pass Dawn, catching her by surprise.
"What was that?!" Dawn exclaimed.
The dinosaur runs pass the group, catching their attention.
"What was that about?" Ventus asked.
"I don't know. Probably just a Pokémon running back to its trainer, whatever it is," Riku said.
"You're probably right," Terra said.
They continued on their way to meet with Professor Rowan. The dinosaur made it to the Pokémon Center and hid in a garbage can. The dinosaur scares the Rattata living there.
Over to Skorupi, he had thawed out and continued to follow Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth and made it to Jubilife City. Skorupi went in some random direction starting to look.
As they were heading down to the lab, they bumped into Dawn.
"Dawn!" Lucas said, blushing.
"Hi Lucas," Dawn greeted, also blushing. She saw the rest of the group. "Hi Sora, Kairi, Ven, Terra, Aqua. And nice to finally meet you, Riku, Naminé."
"You too, Dawn," Naminé greeted. She shook hands with the blonde.
"So, where are you heading?" Dawn asked.
"We're heading for the lab where Professor Rowan is going to," Lucas said.
"You don't mind if I come along, do you?" Dawn asked.
"I don't mind, Dawn," Lucas said.
Dawn joined the group to meet with the Sinnoh Pokémon researcher. As they arrived, they could hear some muffling sounds.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"What's that?" Meowth asked.
Pikachu and Meowth went to the scientists being tied by strings and gagged. They begged for someone to help them. Sora takes the gag off of Dr. Arthurs.
"Thank goodness someone came!" Dr. Arthurs said.
"Who are you?" Sora asked.
"My name is Dr. Arthurs. I'm the leading researcher of this facility, doing research of the Porygon evolution line. And then some people came and attacked us," Dr. Arthurs explained.
"Who?" Sora asked.
"I don't know. They call themselves Team Galactic. And they said something about Professor Rowan's research on Cresselia and Darkrai," Dr. Arthurs explained.
"Cresselia? Darkrai?" Sora asked.
"I heard of them. Cresselia and Darkrai are Pokémon said of the power of dreams. Cresselia is said to bring pleasant dreams and Darkrai is said to bring nightmares," Naminé said.
"But what would Team Galactic want with that?" Ventus asked.
"And do those Pokémon have anything to do with them?" Aqua asked.
"I don't know. I thought they were after my research on Porygon. Professor Rowan is inside as their hostage," Dr. Arthurs said. They all got wide-eyed when he told them Professor Rowan is inside.
"Professor Rowan's inside?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Yes," Dr. Arthur said.
"What are we going to do?" Dawn asked.
"We're gonna save him," Sora said. He turned to his cousin and his friends. "Ven, I need you, Terra, Aqua, and Naminé to go and get the police here. Riku, Lucas, Dawn, Kairi, and I will stay here and keep Team Galactic busy. Can you do that?" Ventus nodded.
"You can count on me, Sora," Ventus said.
"Good, Ven. Just hurry back," Sora said.
With that said, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Naminé, and Azurill left to find the police station while Sora, Kairi, Riku, Lucas, and Dawn stayed behind. Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, and Meowth knew a battle was coming up, so they ready.
"Point me in the right direction," Meowth said.
The trainers entered the lab building, quietly, not drawing any attention to themselves. They saw several of the Team Galactic grunts as well as Glameow, Croagunk, Bronzor, Stunky, Beautifly, Dustox, and Zubat were with them. Some of the Croagunk had their white markings around their chest slightly higher up than others.
"So, any ideas, Sora?" Lucas asked.
"We make one careless move, then we'll be in trouble. This feels like the Weather Institute with Team Aqua involved," Sora said.
"I remember that. How are going to make it pass them without drawing their attention?" Kairi asked.
"I don't know," Sora admitted. He had to think of something fast. Riku stepped up.
"I think I know how," Riku said, taking out three of his Pokéballs and lets Incineroar, Lycanroc, and Dusknoir out to battle, drawing the attention of the Team Galactic grunts.
"Hey! How did you kids get in here?!" One of the grunts exclaimed.
"Wouldn't you like to know? Incineroar! Darkest Lariat!" Riku ordered. Incineroar's hands hands become covered in yellow-orange fire. It then starts spinning rapidly while holding out its hands, spinning into the Team Galactic Pokémon.
"Croagunk! Use Brick Break on that thing!" One of the female grunts ordered. A Croagunk jumped to deliver Brick Break to the heel Pokémon.
"Dusknoir! Shadow Punch!" Riku ordered. Dusknoir lands a Shadow Punch onto Croagunk. "Lycanroc! Crush Claw!" Lycanroc swings his paws at the Beautifly and Dustox. "Sora! Go! I'll keep them entertained!"
"Right!" Sora nodded. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Lucas, and Dawn went on ahead as some more grunts comes along. Lucas and Dawn stepped in, taking out their Pokéballs.
"We got this, Sora!" Lucas said.
"We'll leave the rest up to you!" Dawn said.
"Okay!" Sora said as he, his girlfriend, and the Pokémon went off ahead. The grunts let out some Stunky, Glameow, and Bronzor to battle them.
"Turtwig, Growlithe! Go!" Lucas called out as his Turtwig and Growlithe came out to battle.
"Go! Piplup and Buneary!" Dawn called out as her Piplup and Buneary joins the other two Pokémon.
Over to the couple and the Pokémon, they went on ahead to be greeted by some more grunts and some Zubat, Beautifly, and Dustox.
"This is your only chance to turn back, kids," one of the male grunts warned. Sora and Kairi looked at them very defiantly. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Starly! Go!" Sora called out as Starly came out to battle. "Wing Attack!" Starly flew at the butterfly, moth, and bat Pokémon and struck them all with his wings.
"Beautifly! Stun Spore!" One if the female grunts ordered. Some of the Beautifly flapped their wings to paralyze the starling Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Starly avoids Stun Spore and darts right into the Beautifly. "Wing Attack!" Starly struck at Beautifly hard.
"Zubat! Poison Fang!" One of the male grunts ordered. The Zubat flew at Starly to land a poisonous bite onto him.
"Dodge and use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Starly avoids the attacking Zubat and batted the bat Pokémon with his wings.
"Dustox! Poison Sting!" Another male grunt ordered, but Kairi was stepping in.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fires Swift at the poison moth Pokémon. She took out three of her Pokéballs and tossed them. "Bidoof, Buneary and Kricketot! Go!" Bidoof, Buneary, and Kricketot all came out to battle. "Bidoof! Tackle! Buneary! Ice Beam! Kricketot! Struggle Bug!" Bidoof lands a Tackle on a Zubat as Buneary fires Ice Beam at a Dustox and another Zubat. Kricketot unleashed Struggle Bug onto a Beautifly.
"Thanks for the assist, Kairi!" Sora said.
"Anytime, Sora," Kairi said.
"Starly! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered.
"Bidoof! Headbutt!" Kairi ordered.
Starly and Bidoof lands some hits onto the attacking Zubat.
"Zubat! Air Cutter!" The first male grunt ordered. The Zubat fired Air Cutter at the couple's Pokémon.
"Kricketot! Bide!" Kairi ordered. Kricketot started glowing as he took some hits. When he had taken enough, Kricketot unleashed some energy and took out some of the Zubat.
"Starly! Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Starly flew and struck a Dustox and a Zubat on the mark. Starly then started to evolve. "Starly?"
"Starly's evolving!" Meowth said. Once Starly was finished evolving, the newly evolved Staravia spread out his wings.
"Staravia!" The newly evolved Staravia said.
"Staravia," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex.

Type: Normal/Flying
It flies around forests and fields in search of prey. It stays within a huge flock. It lives in forests and fields. Squabbles over territory occur when flocks collide.
"Okay, Staravia! Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Staravia obeyed and smacks the remaining Pokémon hard. The grunts all call back their Pokémon and retreated.
"We'll remember you for this!" The first male grunt said.
"You haven't seen the last of us!" The first female grunt added.
"Good work, Staravia," Sora said.
"You all did a wonderful job," Kairi added. Buneary, Bidoof, and Kricketot all beamed as suddenly, Kricketot started to evolve much to their surprise. Kricketot had changed into a completely different Pokémon. Kairi's newly evolved Pokémon is a red bipedal insectoid Pokémon. It has two grey eyes with black pupils, and on its head are two antennae that bend down and get thinner at the round sections. It has a darker red nose and a black mustache. It has two long, thin, digitless arms and short, digitless feet. It has two black wings. 9' it's front, it has three black spots and a light yellow stripe going down, split into two sections, and closer to the legs it is deep red with pale yellow underneath. It has a round body and a thin neck. "Kricketot, you evolved!" Sora scanned Kairi's newly evolved Pokémon with his Pokédex.

It crosses its knifelike arms in front of its chest when it cries. It can compose melodies ad lib. It signals its emotions with its melodies. Scientists are studying these melodic patterns.
"Wow, Kricketune. So cool," Kairi said.
"Kricketune," the newly evolved Kricketune said. The couple and the Pokémon pressed on to rescue Professor Rowan.
Riku's Incineroar, Lycanroc, and Dusknoir had made some quick work of the Team Galactic grunts as did Lucas and Dawn. The grunts make their getaway.
"And don't come back!" Lucas said.
Over to the couple and the Pokémon, they made right to Professor Rowan and to Mars, trying to get him to give her what he has on Cresselia and Darkrai.
"Professor Rowan!" Sora called out. This grabs their attention.
"How did you get in here?" Mars asked.
"That's for me to know! Let Professor Rowan go!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu added.
"The name's Mars, and I do not take orders from brats who should mind their own business," Mars said.
"Taking down evil villains is our business," Sora said.
"We have an act for getting under their skin!" Meowth said.
"Then, I'll be sure that you won't get in anyone's business again," Mars said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Purugly! Come back out!" Her Purugly has come out of its Pokéball to battle. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.

It would claim another Pokémon's nest as its own if it finds a nest sufficiently comfortable. To make itself appear intimidatingly beefy, it tightly cinches its waist with its twin tails.
Sora puts his Pokédex away and takes out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Chimchar!" Sora called out as his Chimchar comes out to battle.
"A Chimchar. That'll make an adorable scratching post for Purugly," Mars said.
"Don't be so sure, Mars. My Chimchar isn't going to be easy to sharpen Purugly's claws," Sora said.
"There's only one way to find out, isn't there? Purugly! Begin with Shadow Claw!" Mars ordered. Purugly heads towards Chimchar with its claw emitting a shadowy aura.
"Chimchar! Dig!" Sora ordered. Chimchar dug into the ground as Purugly had missed. Sora knew he hasn't gotten the hang of dodging.
"That Chimchar has to come out sometime! And when it does, take it out!" Mars said. Purugly waited for Chimchar to come out. Chimchar comes on out from the ground. "Purugly! Body Slam!" Purugly slams right into Chimchar.
"Hang in there, Chimchar!" Sora called out.
"Purugly! Bite!" Mars ordered. Purugly lands a bite onto Chimchar. The chimp Pokémon yells in pain.
"Chimchar!" Kairi gasped.
"Eevee!" Angel added.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"One more bite!" Mars ordered. Purugly lands another bite onto Chimchar. Feeling so much pain, Chimchar's flame burns violently and his eyes turned red. Purugly is caught by surprise by the sudden surge in power. "What in the world?!"
"Chimchar?" Sora asked. Chimchar rolls into a fireball and plows right into Purugly. Sora, Kairi, and Mars were surprised by what they were seeing. Riku, Eevee, Lucas, and Dawn shows up and they saw the power of a single Chimchar has. Purugly had been defeated. Chimchar ceased his attack and panted heavily. Mars calls Purugly back inside.
"You win this round, kid. Don't let it go to your spiky head," Mars said.
"If any more of your buddies show up, we'll be ready to take them down and you," Sora said.
"I doubt that. And this is the first warning you will be getting. Stay out of our way or face the consequences," Mars said. Mars takes her leave of the lab. The Team Galactic grunts take their leave in an aircraft just when Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and Naminé came back with the police.
"They're getting away!" Ventus said.
"This time. But they'll be back," Officer Jenny said.
Right inside, Sora and Kairi went to Professor Rowan.
Are you okay, professor?" Sora asked.
"Yes. I am. Thank you for your help, young man," Professor Rowan said.
"It's the least we could do," Sora said.
"We're just glad you're okay," Kairi added.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"And lucky that we helped ya from the chick with that Purugly," Meowth said.
"Pikachu?" Pikachu asked. Meowth turned and glared at the mouse Pokémon.
"What do you mean, what I do?" Meowth asked. Professor Rowan was amazed to hear Meowth talk.
"Hm, a talking Meowth. I never thought I would witness a Pokémon with the power of human speech," Professor Rowan said. "Amazing."
"Meowth is quite a chatterbox," Sora said. "Anyway, Professor Oak said I should meet you since you are here."
"You must Sora, correct?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Yes sir," Sora said.
"Samuel has spoken very highly of you. The same with Gary. I have been looking forward to our meeting for quite some time," Professor Rowan said. "And he has told me that you are quite a Pokémon trainer. And that was some impressive display."
"Thanks professor," Sora asked.
"Just what did that lady want with the research about Cresselia and Darkrai?" Kairi asked.
"I'm afraid I don't know, my dear. But it would seem it has drawn unwanted attention," Professor Rowan said. "But I am grateful for your help."
With the matter settled, Professor Rowan was safe from Team Galactic, but what secret could these legendary Pokémon hold? And will Team Galactic have their revenge on Sora? More to come and we shall wish Kairi and Dawn luck in the upcoming Pokémon Contest in the next chapter.
