Episode 345: Tag! We're It!
On the next morning after the battle with Fantina and earning his third Gym Badge, Sora took out his Pokémon Box and he made some changes on his team. Kairi did the same thing. Sora sent his entire team, except for Pikachu and Chimchar for Thwackey, Raboot, Drizzile, and Drakloak, as Kairi has sent Volbeat, Illumise, Manaphy, and Phione for Poliwhirl, Buneary, Clefairy, and Bellossom.
As Sora was going to register to the the Hearthrome Tag Battle Tournament, he spotted a familiar face. It was Lucas who had just shown up for his Gym battle. Lucas spotted him.
"Sora, hey! It's been a while," Lucas said.
"Hey, Lucas. Came here for a Gym battle?" Sora asked.
"I did. And when I got here, I found that the Gym was closed and she won't be back and not to look for her," Lucas said.
"Yeah, Fantina left to judge Pokémon Contests. She had one with me and Nando before she left," Sora said.
"You won a Gym Badge?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah. Now, I've got three," Sora said, showing him his three Badges.
"Nice," Lucas said. "I have my two. So, what about the Contest? Did Dawn win it?" Sora took a deep breath and sighed.
"No, she didn't even make it to the second round," Sora said. Lucas was stunned to hear that.
"No way. How could that have happened?" Lucas asked.
"I was a part of the panel of judges and I thought it was an awesome," Sora said.
"I'm sure you did, Sora," Lucas said.
"Anyway, you should register for the Hearthrome Tag Battle Tournament taking place tomorrow. And I think Dawn should register for it. To get her spirits up," Sora said.
"You sure, Sora?" Lucas asked.
"I'm sure. Trust me," Sora said. Lucas took his offer on it as he went to register for the tournament. After getting it done, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Riku, Naminé, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Azurill, and the Digimon went down to the stadium to for the tournament. Dawn was now a participant for the tournament. Kairi and Naminé both dressed in cheerleader outfits to root for their boyfriends. The mayor of Hearthrome City makes the announcement to the tournament.
"It's battle time!" The mayor announced and crowd cheers on. "Get ready for some action!" The crowd cheers some more.
"It's just like the Pokémon League," Terra said.
"I can't wait till it gets started!" Ventus said.
"Here, here!" Meowth said.
"This is so exciting!" Gabumon said.
"Welcome Tag Battle trainers to Hearthrome City! I know you're going to have a good tine time! And I should know, I'm the emcee!The name's Enta, the Hearthrome CIty Mayor!" Enta announced as every applauds.
"He sure loves to hear himself go at it," Meowth said.
"I was thinking the same thing," Terriermon said.
"As you may knw, our warm and kind Hearthrome City is known as the 'City Where Hearts Meet!' And with this Tag Battle those hearts include Pokémon's and people's alike! Pokémon to Pokémon and person to person! Yes, bringing them all together is what this Tag Battle is all about! And do, for the next three days, this stadium will burn with that spirit!" Enta announced as the crowd cheers. "Simple, isn't it? So now, I want you to make sure you have your registration cards." Sora has his and he's number 31 as Riku is number number 14. Lucas is number 15, and Barry has number 16. "On this screen, you'll find everyone's card numbers listed! Look for your number and the number right next to yours! This will be your tag team partner throughout the competition! All right then, time to see who's who!" He presses a red button and the numbers show up. Sora and Riku are together as 31 and 14. Lucas is tagged up with a trainer with number five as Dawn is tagged with someone who has number 9 and Barry has is tagged with someone with number 21.
"I'm in the A Block!" Dawn said.
"I'm in the D Block," Sora said.
"I'm in the H Block!," Lucas said.
"NOW! Using the numbers as a guide, find your tag team partner!" Enta instructed. Sora held out his number and Riku taps his shoulder.
"Luck is smiling on us today, Sora," Riku said, holding out his number. Sora beamed as he figured he would be tagged with Riku.
"I was kinda hoping we would be tagged with each other, Riku," Sora said.
"Same here, Sora," Riku said, shaking each other's hands. Pikachu and Eevee did the same thing.
Barry went looking for his partner.
"Who here has number 21! 21! Who has number 21?" Barry asked.
"That'll be me," a girl with tanned skinned girl with blonde short hair came out, holding number 22. "The name's Tammy."
"Barry," Barry said.
"You any good?" Tammy asked.
"Care to find out?" Barry asked.
"That's the idea," Tammy said.
"I'm looking for number 9!" Dawn called out.
"Well, how are you, number 28?" A new voice asked.
"I'm fine!" Dawn replied. She saw it was a young man with dark green med-length hair and glasses. He wore a light green t-shirt with a darker green vest, blue jeans, gray sandals, and a dark green choker and bracelet. His appearance is similar to Max's. Something about him creeped her out.
"That's good. Conway is the name. A pleasure," Conway greeted. With him is a Slowking. Slowking shares his traits.
"Oh. It's nice to meet you. I'm Dawn," Dawn introduced herself.
"Dawn, eh?" Conway asked as he adjusted his glasses. He chuckles. "My my. There's a cute name. The perfect person to be our partner."
"Slowking, Slowking agreed.
Dawn was creeped out more so. She hoped Lucas has hooked up with someone other than she did.
"It appears that my Slowking has taken quite a liking to you," Conway said.
"Slowking," Slowking added.
"Well, isn't that special," Dawn said, getting nervous.
Over to Sora and Riku, they saw who they were up against.
"So, you think we should be worried about Dawn, Riku?" Sora asked.
"With that guy around, I think she'll be fine. But I'll be worried if she comes across us," Riku said.
"Good point," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
Over to Lucas, he searches the crowd for his partner.
"Sora, Riku, amd Dawn found their partners. And who would have thought Barry would be here," Lucas said.
"Of course, you had to be number 15," a voice said coldly. Lucas turned around and sees that it's Paul.
"You?!" Lucas exclaimed.
Both were disappointed to be with one another. Paul was sour about the Gym Leader taking off before he shows up, but he he also just as sour when Sora and Riku has come as well. Speaking of which, they saw Paul there as well.
"Who would thought it? Paul is here as well," Sora said with discontent.
"I'm kinda glad that he didn't end up neing on the same team as either one of us," Riku said.
"Same here," Sora said.
Over to the stands, Kairi, Angel, Naminé, Azurill, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Meowth, and the Digimon were displeased in seeing him there. Guilmon, Gaomon, Lalamon, Terriermon, Lopmon, and Renamon were confused.
"Not him," Meowth said.
"Who's that?" Guilmon asked.
"Paul," Agumon answered.
"He's that Pokémon trainer we saw before. He's very rude and disrespectful," Gatomon said.
"He catches Pokémon and then let's them go if they're too weak," Patamon said.
"Or if they're usless," Aqua added. "If you ask me, he has no business being a Pokémon trainer."
"If Hapu was here, she would give him so much hell and come up with all sorts of insults," Terra said.
"Who's Hapu?" Gabumon asked.
"She's a friend who used to travel with Sora and Kairi," Ventus said.
"Of course, I have no choice," Paul said. He points his finger right at Lucas. "You just make sure you don't get in my way!"
"Hey! That's no way to talk to your Tag Battle partner!" Lucas snarled. "Why couldn't I have been tagged with Sora or Riku? At least those are trainers I actually look up to."
"You would! Those two bleeding hearted losers," Paul said.
"The same ones who kicked your sorry ass?" Lucas asked. Lucas and Paul glares at each other with lightning shooting between them.
"This is not going to end so well," Sora and Riku both said in unison.
"In a tag battle, the real key to success is to create the spirit of partnership between both trainers and their Pokémon! To learn truly rely on each other! And so, to the team that emerges victorious, we will be awarding sn item that's sure to deepen the connection between you even more!" Enta said, digging through his pockets. He pulls out a pair of bells. "Our grand prize! THe beautiful Soothe Bell! A bell that produces a sound so magnifenticently beautiful, that it brings both peace and joy to everyone who hears it! And this bell will be the award to our fine Tag Battle winners!" Everyone was soothed to the sound of the bell.
"What an awesome prize," Ventus said.
"It's music to my ears," Meowth said.
"Mine too," all the Digimon all said.
"All right, trainers! By now, you've all found yyour Tag Battle partners! As you all know, the battle festivities don't commence until this afternoon. So have until then to practice with your partner!" Enta said.
"That's fine with us," Sora said. Riku nodded in agreement.
"Dawn, you know you're lucky to have been matched with me," Conway said. He adjusted his glasses.
"Huh?" Dawn asked confused.
"You see, after careful analysis of every league battle up to, and including, the present, I've caculated the proper formula for ensuring that victory is ours," Conway said. He chuckles. Dawn wasn't sure she should trust him, but it looks like she has little choice in the matter.
"Uh, that's great, Conway," Dawn said.
"Okay, Larry, let's talk strategy," Tammy said.
"That's Barry," Barry corrected her.
Lucas wasn't sure about the partner he was stuck with. Not too far, Devimon was above and he was watching and listening to the announcement.
"A tournament? How intriguing. And the human lord Myotismon has his eyes on is also attending it. And two of the humans as well," Devimon said. He spotted Guilmon, Terriermon, Renamon, Lopmon, Gaomon, and Renamon with them. "What? When did those six arrive? And are Leomon and the rest of the Resistance here? I should stick around and keep an eye on them just in case. IN the meantime, I think Tyrannomon would like to come and play as well." He laughs. "But first, I should make contact with the master before I do anything else." He makes contact with Wizardmon.
"Wizardmon. Where is lord Myotismon?" Devimon asked.
"He is busy. He has been given strict instructions not to be disturbed unless it is important," Wizardmon said.
"Then, it's a good thing. The human he has interest in is in the sae place as we are. In a place called Hearthrome City taking part of a tournament. And so, the humans allied with the Resistance are here as well," Devimon said.
"I'll be sure to letthe master know of them," Wizardmon said. Devimon broke contact and he grinned wickedly.
Over to Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers, it took them a few days to find the place.
"Some short cut. Devimon is going to use me for a sratching post becuase of you two," Vorvomon said.
"At least we made it, right?" The first Dracomon asked.
"Yeah, Agumon and his squad in the Resistance should be here," the second Dracomon said.
"Come on! We have some Resistance to find," Vorvomon said as the three evil Digimon flew off.
In the Digital World, Myotismon is in his study when he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," Myotismon said. Impmon enters in.
"Master, the thing you've been telling us about is ready for your inspection," Impmon said.
"Excellent," Myotismon said. He stands up and he walks over to the bookcase. He pulls a book and reveals a secret passageway. He and Impmon walks down to a chamber where a bunch of Bakemon are going some cleaning. The Bakemon took off as Myotismon stands before the pedestal.
"Forgive my ignorance, your evilness, but what is the purpose of this thing?" Impmon asked.
"This thing is a gateway between worlds; the Digital World and the real world. Legends speaks of it as a hollow gate in case your limited mind has missed it. When we pass through this gate, we can infiltrate the human realm! And once there, I can take over the human world and rule over all; humans Pokémon, and Digimon alike! No one shall have the power to stop me," Myotismon said. Wizardmon appears before Myotismon.
"Please excuse the interupption, lord Myotismon," Wizardmon said.
"This better be important, Wizardmon," Myotismon said.
"It is, master. I have recieved word from Devimon in the real world that Agumon and his band of the Resistance are in a place called Hearthrome City. They're with the humans as we speak. And there appears to be some sort of event occuring as well," Wizardmon reported.
"Is that so. Excellent work, Wizardmon. This is a golden opportunity to study our enemies; and my puppet," Myotismon said, as he uses his crystal to project the tournament to study Sora and Paul. He laughs very evilly as it begins.
Back in Hearthrome City, the first battle is about to begin. It was the very first battle. Dawn and Conway were having a battle with a girl and a bulky man.
"All right! It's time for our first match! And here the rules! Each trainer is allowed to use one Pokémon, with no time limit! There will be no substitutions. Whichever team ends up unable to battle is defeated! Then tomorrow, the winners advance to the second round battles!" Enta instructed. "Now today, our first battle will be A Block! So, it's off to the Pokémon battlefield!" Dawn and Conway each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Now, Piplup! Spotlight!" Dawn called out as she lets out her partner.
Okay, Slowking. Appear!" Conway called out as his Slowking makes its entrance.
"Scyther! Go!" The girl called out.
"Koffing! Let's thrash 'em!" The man called out. A Scyther and Koffing make their appearence. The girl's Scyther has a bigger abdomen than the Scyther Sora had before evolving.
"Now, you go right ahead with your attacks and don't worry about one bit about defense! You just leave that to me and don't think too much, okay?" Conway instructed.
"Yeah, right," Dawn deadpanned.
"All right, battle begin!" Enta called out.
"Now, Scyther! use Razor Wind!" The girl ordered.
"Koffing! Sludge Bomb now!" The man ordered.
Scyther fires Razor Wind right at Piplup and Slowking as Koffing fires Sludge Bomb.
"Piplup! Use Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered. Piplup fires Bubble and it cancels out Razor Wind. Sludge Bomb was still coming for the two of them.
"Now, Slowking, let's use Safeguard!" Conway ordered. Slowking uses Safegurad around the two of them and Sludge Bomb bounces right off. Piplup was surprised that not one of them got hit The penguin looked right up at his battling partner who responded with a thunbs up.
"Impressive. Conway knows what's he doing obvisously," Riku said.
"He's an intersting character, I'll give him that," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"Eevee," Eevee added.
"What was that light?" Veemon asked.
"It's a move called Safeguard. When theyr'e covered in Safeguard's light, they're immune to changes like poison, burns, or paralysis," Terra said.
"Now! Koffing! Thunderbolt!" THe man ordered. Koffing unleashes Thunderbolt right at the two Water Types.
"Piplup! Dodge it!" Dawn called out.
"Now, Slowking! Protect!" Conway ordered. Slowking forms a protective barrier around the two of them and Thunderbolt bounces off. Dawn stared at the battlefield with amazement. "There, you see? You can now do whatever you want. 'Casue I'll be covering for you, no matter what."
"Got it!" Dawn said.
"Scyther! X-Scissor! Let's go!" The girl ordered. Scyther moves in with her arms crossed.
"Piplup! Peck!" Dawn ordered. Piplup jumps on Slowking's crown and then off. Piplup heads right for the mantis Pokémon with his beak pointing at her. Piplup lands a hit onto Scyther and cancels out X-Scissor. Scyther had been taken down with a super-effective hit.
"Scyther is unable to battle!" The referee announced. The girl was distraught over her Pokémon's defeat.
"Now! Koffing, Gyro Ball!" The man ordered. Koffing spins around into Gyro Ball and heads right towards its opponents. Conway chuckles to himself as he adjusts his glasses.
"Slowking, Psychic! Go!" Conway ordered. Slowking stops Koffing in its tracks with Psychic. "Now." Slowking points down and Koffing comes right down, earning a knockout. Both of Koffing and Scyther were down and out.
"Koffing is unable to battle! Piplup and Slowking wins! The winners of the first round is Dawn and Conway!" The referee announced.
"And the exciting first battle of A Block has been decided!" Enta announced.
"So, Dawn, how was it?" Conway asked. Dawn was inspired as she had regained the fire she lost.
"Awesome! Our attack and defense moves were perfect!" Dawn said.
"Huh?" Conway questioned.
"Now, I want you to tell me all about this battle formula of yours! I'm sure they'll help me in my Contests!" Dawn said with sparkles in her eyes.
"You're a Coordinator?" Conway asked, when he heard her mention Contests.
"That Conway's very big on defensive moves," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Conway's going to be tough to handle if he was by himself," Sora said.
After the battles had concluded in the B and C Blocks, it was now the D Block. Devimon grins as he got to witness Sora's battle. Myotismon was witnessing the same thing in the Digital World. Impmon and Wizardmon was watching as well.
"Now to see what this boy is made of," Myotismon said.
"Whatever you say, master," Impmon said.
"Now, it is time for the battle in the D Block!" Enta announced as Sora and Riku came up against two trainers, on being a teenaged girl with long brownish blonde hair with an antenna on top with a tanned skinned girl with a long ponytail. Both the girls as well as Sora and Riku both took out a Pokéball and threw them.
"Go! Hitmonchan!" The long haired girl called out.
"Go! Marowak!" The tanned skinned girl called out, letting out an Alolan Marowak.
"Go right in, Chimchar!" Sora called out.
"Incineroar! Go!" Riku called out as his Incineroar came out to battle. Paul was surprsied to see that's his old Chimchar with Sora.
"He must have caufght it after I cut it loose. Pathetic," Paul said in his thoughts. Myotismon sensed his hostility and grinned wickedly.
"Let the battle begin!" Enta called out.
"Hitmonchan! Mach Punch on Incineroar!" The brownish blonde girl ordered. Hitmonchan darts towards Incineroar.
"Bulk Up!" Riku ordered. Incineroar builds up his attack and defense as he flexes his muscles and Mach Punch bounces right off.
"What?! Mach Punch failed?!" The long haired girl exclaimed in anger.
"Throat Chop!" Riku ordered. Incineroar lands a Throat Chop onto Hitmonchan.
"Marowak! Bone Rush towards Chimchar!" The tanned skinned girl ordered. Marowak charges towards Chimchar with its bone ready to strike.
"Chimchar! Dodge and use Flame Wheel!" Sora called out. Chimchar avoided Bone Rush and rolls into abll of fire. Chimchar lands a hit onto Marowak.
"Hitmonchan! Mach Punch again! This time on Chimchar!" The long haired girl ordered. Hitmonchan heads right towards Chimchar to land a punch.
"Incineroar! Block that!" Riku ordered. Incineroar blocks it with his hand.
"Thanks, Riku!" Sora said.
"Got your back, buddy," Riku said.
"Don't just stand there! Get them!" The long-haired girl told her.
"Marowak! Shadow Bone on that Incineroar!" The tanned skinned girl ordered. Marowak moved in to deliever a Shadow Bone onto Incineroar.
"Chimchar! Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Chimchar fires Flamethrower and struc Maroawk hard. "Now, use Scratch on Hitmonchan!"
"Incineroar! Darkest Lariat on Marowak!" Riku ordered. Incineroar spins around with his hands emitting yellow-orange fire and lands a hit onto Marowak. Chimchar lands a Scratch onto Hitmonchan.
"Wow, those two are awesome together," Tammy said.
"What do you expect from the Pokémon League Champion? He's the kind of guy who takes crap from no one," Barry said. Kairi and Naminé were cheering hard for their boyfriends to win it.
"Go, Sora, go!" Kairi cheered.
"Go, go, Riku!" Naminé cheered.
"Eevee!" Angel cheered on.
"Azurill!" Azurill added.
"Okay, Riku. Care to do the honors?" Sora asked.
"My pleasure. Incineroar! Darkest Lariat!' Riku ordered.
"Chimchar! Flame Wheel!" Sora ordered.
Chimchar rolled into a ball of fire as Incineroar was spinning around with Darkest Lariat.
"What are they up to?" The tanned girl asked.
"Who cares! We take them down now! Hitmonchan! Dynamic Punch!" The long-haired girl ordered.
"Marowak! Flamethrower!" The tanned skinned ordered. Marowak lets out a stream of green flames as Hitmonchan heads right towards Incineroar. Sora and Riku nodded to each other.
"NOW!" Sora and Riku shouted.
Both Fire Type Pokémon let loose and struck hard. Chimchar had struck Hitmonchan as Marwoak's Flamethrower was cut through and lands a hit onto Marowak. Both had ended up in double knockout.
"Hitmonchan and Marowak are both unable to battle! Chimchar and Incineroar wins! The tag battle goes to Sora and Riku!" The referee announced. Both Sora and Riku high-five each other as Chimchar was celebrating the win. Incineroar smiled at Chimchar as he took him on his muscles.
"Way to go, boys!" Kairi and Naminé cheered for their boyfriends.
"Impressive," Devimon said in his thoughts. "The way he handles those Pokémon is incredible. But I would like to see how the one lord Myotismon has his eye on fare in this?"
Sora and Riku were leaving the battlefield as Barry and Tammy went up to them for their tag battle.
"That was awesome, you two," Barry said.
"You're better than I thought and you looked good before!" Tammy said.
"Good luck out there," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Thanks, Sora. Just so you know, we won't need it," Barry said.
"Just don't get cocky out there," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Up next is taking place in the E Block! Now, both teams, please choose your Pokémon and begin!" Enta instructed. Barry and Tammy were up against two boys. Barry and Tammy each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"You're in, Munchlax!" Barry called out as his Munchlax came on out.
"Go! Geodude!" Tammy called out as her Geodude came on out. This Geodude is gold. Stars swirls around it upon entry.
"Bagon! Go!" The first boy shouted.
"Go! Yanma!" The second boy shouted.
Bagon and Yanma both came out of their Pokéballs and ready to go.
"Battle start!" Enta called out.
"Yanma! Steel Wing! The second boy ordered.
"Bagon! Zen Headbutt!" The first boy ordered.
Yanma comes at Geodude with Steel Wing as Bagon comes at Munchlax with Zen Headbutt.
"Geodude! Rock Throw on Yanma!" Tammy ordered.
"Munchlax! Ice Punch!" Barry ordered.
Munchlax lands an icy punch onto Bagon as Geodude gave Rock Throw right at the dragonfly Pokémon.
"Okay, Munchlax! Use Brick Break!" Barry ordered as it lands a hit onto Bagon.
"Double-Edge!" Tammy ordered. Geodude lands a hit onto Yanma. "Now, use Fire Punch!" Geodude lands a punch onto Yanma.
"Those two are working well together," Conway said.
"Sure is. Barry is better than he was when I battled him," Sora said. Conway looked right at Sora with a grin as he adjusted his glasses.
"I don't believe we've been introduced, Sora. My name is Conway," Conway introduced.
"Nice to meet you," Sora said, shaking his hand.
"I was impressed by your skills. I can see why you're the Pokémon League Champion. I have been looking forward meeting you, and hoping to battle you," Conway said, adjusting his glasses again.
"Um, thanks," Sora said.
"Munchlax! Ice Punch on Bagon!" Barry ordered.
"Geodude! Fire Punch!" Tammy ordered.
Munchlax and Geodude lands a punch onto Bagon and Yanma and earned a knockout.
"Bagon and Yanma are unable to battle! Munchlax and Geodude wins! The battle goes to Barry and Tammy!" The referee announced.
"Congratulations to our winners!" Enta announced as the crowd cheered.
"Wow, Barry, you're pretty good. I guess I was wrong to think you were lame," Tammy said. Barry didn't care as long as he and Tammy won it.
The tournament has gone on as the F and G has gone and went. It was now the turn of Lucas, Paul, and two young men.
Myotismon grinned as he was about to see how he handles in battle.
"This should be interesting," Myotismon said.
"And now for the last battle until tomorrow! Our battle in the H Block! Choose your Pokémon and come out battling!" Enta instructed. Lucas and Paul's opponents each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Rhydon!" The man with the gunglasses called out.
"Magmar! Come on out!" The blonde haired man called out as Rhydon and Magmar came out to battle. Lucas took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"You're going right in, Buizel!" Lucas called out as Buizel came out to battle.
"Nidoking! Stand by for battle!" Paul called out.
Buizel and Nidoking both came out to battle against Rhydon and Magmar.
"Now, let the exciting battle begin!" Enta called out.
"Buizel! Aqua Jet!" Lucas ordered. His Buizel heads right towards Rhydon.
"Nidoking! Drill Spin on Magmar!" Paul ordered.Nidoking ran towards Magmar with his horn spinning like a drill.
"Magmar! Protect!" The blonde haired man ordered.
"Rhydon! Megahorn!" The man in the sunglasses ordered. Rhydon heads right towards Buizel with its horn giving off a green glow and extending.
"Buizel! Dodge and use Ice Punch!" Lucas ordered. Buizel avoids Rhydon and lands a hit onto Rhydon.
"Buizel's a good choice to use. Both Rhydon and Magmar are vulnerable to Water Type moves. And with Buizel with Ice Punch as well, that should do some serious damage," Conway said.
"Yeah, but Magmar's Protect makes it much harder," Riku said.
"Now, use Fire Punch!" The blonde haired man ordered. Magmar lands a buring punch onto Nidoking. "Okay, how about we wrap this up in one hit?"
"Okay!" The man in the sunglasses seconded it.
"Magmar! Protect!" The man with the blonde hair ordered.
"Rhydon! Surf!" The man in the sunglasses ordered. Magmar formed a protective barrier as Rhydon rode on with Surf.
"Earth Power!" Paul ordered.
"No way! That won't work!" Lucas stated. He began thinking for a moment. "What would Sora do in a situation like this?" He looked right at Rhydon surfing and he gets an idea. "Maybe something like this. Buizel! Iron Tail!" Buizel jumps and swings its tail and splits the wave in two, shocking Rhydon. Buizel lands a hit onto Rhydon. Rhydon was taken down.
"Rhydon is unable to battle!" THe referee announced.
"No way!" The opposing trainers both exclaimed.
"Nidoking! Thunderbolt!" Paul ordered. Nidoking lands a powerful Thunderbolt onto Magmar and has earned a knockout.
"Magmar is also unable to battle! Buizel and Nidoking wins! The winners are Lucas and Paul!" The referee announced.
"That was aclose shave," Lucas said.
"I told you to stay oout of my way!" Paul hissed.
"Hey, the purpose is for us to work together!" Lucas stated.
"Who asked you?" Paul snapped. Devimon grinned as he also sensed Paul's hostility.
Myotismon was very impressed by Paul's skills. He grinned wickedly as he chuckled.
"He is even better than I anticipated," Myotismon said.
Later, Devimon is speaking with a gang of five Tyrannomon. He was giving them some instructions.
"Now, go forth and draw out the Resistance," Devimon ordered them. The Tyrannomon all obeyed as they left.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Riku, Naminé, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Azurill, and the Digimon, they were joined by Lucas, Dawn, Barry, Tammy, and Conway for the meal when Agumon and Guilmon got a whiff in the air.
"I smell something," Agumon said.
"So do I," Guilmon added.
"What's wrong, guys?" Sora asked.
"Something or someone is coming," Guilmon said.
"What's coming?" Sora asked, getting a bad feeling.
"I'm picking up five scents. And they're heading right towards us," Agumon said. And he was right. It was the Tyrannomon gang coming right towards them.
"What are those?" Tammy asked.
"One way to find out," Sora said, taking out his Digidex. "Got it. Tyrannomon. Their dinosaur Digimon and they're Champion level Digimon. One of the deadly attacks is Blaze Blast."
"We can take them!" Agumon said.
"Yeah!" Guilmon added. He and Agumon both started to Digivolve.
"Agumon Digivolve to... Greymon!"
"Guilmon Digivolve to... Growlmon!"
Both Greymon and Growlmon both stood before the five Tyrannomon as they growled in hoistility.
"We can take them! There's five of us and two of them!" The leading Tyrannomon said.
"Right!" The four other Tyrannomon said, heading right towards Greymon and Growlmon.
Greymon, "Nova Blast!"
Growlmon, "Pyro Blaster!"
Greymon and Growlmon fired right at the Tyrannomon gang and they all got struck by the attacks. The Tyrannomon gang weren't calling it quits yet. The leading Tyrannomon ran towards Greymon as the other four ran towards Growlmon. Growlmon extended his arm blade and swung it at them.
"Dragon Slash!" Growlmon shouted as he swipes it right at the four Tyrannomon. Greymon and the leading Tyrannomon duked it out for a while.
"How are they so strong?" Lucas asked.
"And how did they just change?" Barry added.
"OKay, that other one is new to me," Ventus said, looking into his Digidex. "Growlmon, a demon dragon Digimon a Champion level. We already two of his attacks."
Greymon threw the leading Tyrannomon on the ground after giving him a series of punchings. THe leading Tyrannomon was angry now.
"You think you can take me down that easily! Think again!" The leading Tyrannomon exclaimed as he began to glow. The leading Tyrannomon was growing in size, much to everyone's surprise. "Tyrannomon Digivolve to..." The leading Tyrannomon transformed into a much larger Digimon. He has gray skin and has red scars all over his body. He has an X scar on his right eye and an X scar on his chest. "MasterTyrannomon!" Greymon and Growlmon were shocked to see him had Digivolved further.
"MasterTyrannomon?" Everyone asked. Kairi took out her Digidex to look up MasterTyrannomon. She winced when she saw the information.
"Oh no! MasterTyrannomon is a level higher than Greymon and Growlmon! It says he's an Ultimate level Digimon! That means he's even stronger!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Ultimate level?" Sora asked.
Greymon and Growlmon headed right towards MasterTyrannomon to attack.
Greymon, "Nova Blast!"
Growlmon, "Pyro Blaster!"
Greymon and Growlmon fired their attacks at him, but they did nothing on him.
"Is there a window opened? I felt a draft," MasterTyrannomon said. Everyone were stunned as the four Tyrannomon were rooting for their boss.
"Get 'em, boss!" One of the Tyrannomon said.
"We can't take this guy down alone!" Growlmon said.
"We have to try! Nova Blast!" Greymon shouted as he fired Nova Blast at MasterTyrannomon, but it does nothing to him. MasterTyrannomon grabs Greymon and Growlmon in his claws and begins crushing them.
"We gotta help them!" Gomamon said.
"He's an Ultimate level Digimon. Even if we all Digivolve all at once, we wouldn't stand a chance against him put together," Gatomon said.
"Oh, come! We took on Anomalocarimon and won it!" Veemon said.
"That's because we got lucky. Anomalocarimon was just a weak little caterpillar compared to this overgrown newt," Gatomon said.
"We can't give up," Greymon said. "We have to keep trying."
"Yes, we gotta keep trying," Growlmon agreed. Just then both Digimon began to glow. MasterTyrannomon was confused by what was going on.
"What?!" MasterTyrannomon exclaimed.
Both of Greymon and Growlmon started to Digivolve, much to everyone's surprise.
"Greymon Digivolve to..." Greymon transfomred into a much larger Digimon with Greymon's coloring, but he gains red hair on the back, and he also granted with a large mettalic arm, a pair of wings and a helmet. He also has a mechanics on his chest, "MetalGreymon!"
"Growlmon Digivolve to..." Growlmon transformed into a mechanized version of Growlmon. He wore a massive harness possesing two energy cannons and a pair of vernier. Behind the harness is the metallic balancer cable attached and hanging down his back. Each of his mechanical arms are equipped with razor-sharp blades as well as three sharp claws. Lastly, he wore a metallic bit in his jaws. The harness is adorned with the symbol a hazard sign, and the Digicde on its stripes, "WarGrowlmon!"
Everyone were amazed by the sudden appearence and Digivolution of Greymon and Growlmon.
"Whoa," Ventus said, looking up is Digidex. "MetalGreymon. It says he's a cyborg Digimon. His whole body is literally a weapon. He'll take out his opponents with something called Giga Blaster." He looked up Growlmon's Digivolved form. "And the other one is WarGrowlmon. Also a cyborg Digimon whose also a walking weapon. He snuffs them out with Atomic Blaster."
"They're both Ultimates," Gabumon said.
"Two against one is hardly a fair fight, but I can take you both on," MasterTyrannomon said. He takes a swing at MetalGreymon. He bites his arm hard. "Let go!"
"Sure thing," MetalGreymon said, hurling MasterTyrannomon into the air. He screams as he opens up his chest. "Giga Blaster!" He fires grey organic missles from his chest and the attack makes contact and he dissolves into bits of data. The four Tyrannomon were scared now.
"Now, you four will join him," Growlmon said, charging up his attack. "Atomic Blaster!" He fires right at the four Tyrannomon and they also dissolve into bits of data. The fight was won as MetalGreymon and WarGrowlmon had reverted back to their Rookie forms.
"Glad that's over," Lucas said.
"Yeah. For now," Sora said. He knew it was no coincidence and that they'll try again. He had to be vigilant just in case they try anything else.
The first part of the Hearthrome Tag Battle Tournament was over, but the battle's not they all had a long way to go. Who will make it to the finals and who will not? Stay tuned.
