We need some fluffiness, so I wrote this short piece super quick.
The eldest son of Goku and Chichi entered his bedroom, in the midst of a game of hide and seek with his six year-old daughter, Pan. The young father closed his eyes and spread out his senses, searching for her cheerful ki, and smiled as he brushed over his wife's ki in their shared bathroom. He found his target and opened his eyes... only to chuckle quietly at her chosen hiding place.
Gohan raised a curious brow at the small lump hiding underneath the covers of his and Videl's bed and calmly approached, reaching out with one hand to pull the covers back.
A high-pitched squeak emitted from the lump, and the sheets were jerked back into place before the Son could see what the true identity of the lump was. The eldest son of Goku furrowed his brow; this was a curious case indeed.
"Videl," Gohan turned to call over his shoulder, "I think you should call the exterminator. We've got a little bit of a pest problem here in the bedroom."
"What do you mean?" the periwinkle-eyed woman peeked out of the master bathroom, curious, "we have a pest? Where?"
A few muffled giggles left the now-wiggling lump in the bed, and the wife of Gohan shook her head, an amused smile spreading over her lips. She sighed and shook her head in exasperation.
"Oh dear," she pretended despair, pressing a hand to her cheek, "I do hope our little pest knows that there are a couple of... tickle monsters on the loose." she wiggled her fingers for emphasis.
The lump stopping wiggling and giggling and began to squirm, trying to escape the sheets. Gohan lunged as the sheets flew off of the bed and cleanly snagged a wriggly six year-old Son Pan around her middle as she attempted to escape. The little girl squealed at the sight of her Papa and kicked her legs.
"Down, Papa, put me down," she insisted, "I gotta hide from the tickle monsters!"
"Oh really?" Gohan teased, "and just where were you going to hide from the tickle monsters? They're everywhere!"
"No!" Pan wailed, freeing herself, "they won't find me!" The wavy haired cherub scurried from the room in a flurry of red and orange coveralls, leaving her parents standing in their bedroom, laughing at their daughter's expense.
Videl sighed and laid a hand on her subtle bump, wiping a tear of mirth from the corner of her eye with her free hand. Gohan crossed the room to his wife and pulled her into his arms.
"When are we going to tell her about the baby?"
The young couple were expecting their second child, and had yet to discover the sex. Seeing as Videl was only three months along, it would be a few more weeks before anything concrete could be made out.
"Why not tell her today?" Videl asked in a soft tone, "she's going to be so excited."
"We'll have to find her first," Gohan said wryly, "she's hiding from the tickle monsters, remember?" His wife rolled her eyes and headed towards the door, "I'll go start on lunch, you find our little hideaway."
"She's in the hall closet downstairs," the Son chuckled, "she hasn't quite mastered hiding her ki." Videl led the way out of the master bedroom and down the stairs to the first floor. She opened the door to the aforementioned hall closer and looked up at the shelf at the very top, rolling her eyes at her daughter's silliness.
"Come on down, Pan-chan," Videl told her chibi warmly, "it's time for lunch." Gohan held out his arms, and the small six year girl eagerly leapt off of the shelf and into his safe hold, curling up against his chest. The demi-saiyan took a seat at the nook in the kitchen and watched his glowing wife approach the fridge.
"What's for lunch, you two?"
"Ants on a Log!" Pan proclaimed at once, much to her father's amusement. His mother had introduced her to the snack and, as of late, the youngest member of the Son family, not counting the one who'd yet to arrive, had become insatiable for it.
"You always eat that, Pan," Videl rolled her eyes in exasperation, "name something else."
"But I like Ants on the Log, Mama," the chibi pouted for a moment, but was quick to sober up when her Papa began tickling her sides and the back of her neck, "No, the tickle monsters got me!"
"How about Mama whips up some Veggie Rolls and dipping sauce, some sandwiches, soup, and some juice and we call it a day?" the wife of Gohan inquired, "it's healthy, I can make it quick, and it's not Ants on a Log."
"Sounds good to me-"
"Anything edible sounds good to you, Gohan."
"... touche."
Videl laughed jubilantly as she fished out the ingredients for the family's lunch and began to prepare the food. As she worked, she spoke to Pan, "Pan, do you know how your Papa is your Uncle Goten's big brother, and Trunks is Bra's big brother?"
"Yup," the cherub chirped as she climbed up onto her father's shoulders, much to his exasperation, "because Granny Chichi and Aunt B had them before they had Bra-chan and Uncle G."
"Yes, well, what if I told you that I was going to have another baby and that you're going to be a big sister soon?" the daughter of Hercule smiled over her shoulder at her daughter, who's mouth was frozen in a perfect 'O' of shock. Gohan gently lifted her off of his shoulders, chuckling quietly as Pan slowly came to grips with what her mother was saying.
"I'm gonna be a big sister?" the six year-old girl asked blankly, and then, before either of them could clarify, she asked, "but where do babies come from, anyway?"
"Uh..." Both parents shared a look and sweat dropped. Gohan dropped a kiss on the top of Pan's head, "let's save that one for when you're older, Pan-chan."
"Oh.. okay." the chibi shrugged and settled against her father's chest to wait for lunch to be ready, unaware that both her mother and father were wiping sweat from their brows and breathing sighs of relief at the close call.
"Are you excited about the new baby, Pan-chan?" Videl inquired as she chopped vegetables. Her little girl furrowed her brow, "Trunks told me that he didn't like when Bra came cuz he didn't get as much attention as she did."
"Really?" Gohan chuckled, "well, you won't have to worry about that, Panny. Of course, we're going to have to spend a lot of time with your little brother or sister because they'll only be a baby and they can't take care of themselves on their own like you can. It might seem like we're not payign attention to you at times, but you can't forget that we still love you, okay?"
"Kay," Pan chirped, "that's okay, then. I'm not spoiled like Bra-chan."
"Spoiled?" Videl laughed, "where'd you hear that at?"
"Trunks-kun always calls Bra-chan spoiled," the littlest Son told her mother matter-of-factily, "always. It means she gets whatever she wants by crying."
"Oh, is that so?" Gohan inquired, "well, it's a good thing you aren't spoiled, Pan-chan."
"I'm not a crybaby," Pan crossed her little arms over her chest, "so I can't be spoiled." She nodded once to herself as if to reaffirm this fact, and her mother laughed at the serious expression on her little face. Pink formed in her cheeks, and the little Son tucked her face into Gohan's neck to hide it, leaving her parents to laugh at her ridiculousness.
Little one, you are too much...
Hope you enjoyed this piece. I rarely do ones with little Pan, so it was nice to give it a try.
