"This bout is over Titania…"

The mood had gone from joyous to dread filled in a matter of seconds. After everything they had thrown at him. Everything they'd gone through. Oberon was still on his feet. He looked exhausted, but otherwise uninjured.

Nia looked absolutely heartbroken. How? Just how was he still standing? She thought she'd won. She thought THEY won. She knew he was stronger but… was the difference between them really that great?

AJ pulled her close and kept his body in front of her, while Star and Uran stepped in front of the two. "AJ… you take Nia and you run. As far and as fast as you can," Uran said preparing to fight. "He's exhausted, so we should be able to buy you some time."

Typhon stepped in front of the both of them. "And just why would you two stay behind? I'm more than capable of holding him off. Take the children and go. All of you," he said spreading his wings out.

"Fuck that, we're not going anywhere," Cayenne said standing next to him.

Oberon sighed. "Even now you would dare to stand against me? Is it bravery, pride, or sheer arrogance at this point?" he asked. "It should be clear by now that resistance is a meaningless gesture. Resign to your fate Titania. You have no choice but to-"

"No, never…"

Oberon opened his eyes and looked towards Nia, who was glaring at her. The girl sat up, still looking exhausted, but determined. "I will never go with you. Even if you drag me into that castle and lock me up, I'll keep fighting you. Every day, for the rest of eternity if I have to…" she said. "And maybe I won't win today, or tomorrow, or even years from now. But eventually I will. I will never give in to you. Do you hear me?"

The king of Avalon looked down at her with an angry expression. "You're young, and know no better. In time you will see what I do is for your own benefit, and the benefit of our family. You will-"

"No! I won't! I never will!"

"The decision is not yours to make Titania!" Oberon yelled back. "This is not an argument! You will take your place within the family!"

He made his way towards her, and everyone got ready to fight. But suddenly a blast rushed by Oberon. Everyone stopped and turned towards the source of the blast, which was one Asterossa Butterfly. "Get away from my sister you shit…" he said, fury written all over his face.

Oberon scowled at him, while the others looked towards him surprised. Nia smiled towards her brother. "You showed up pretty late didn't you? Thought you were going to take care of Umbriel and come back me up," she said.

"Yeah well… he might have been a tad bit tougher than I expected," Astro said. He was still very much in pain from earlier, and honestly it was a wonder he was still on his feet.

Oberon turned towards him. "Ah, the son of Typhon returns. I will admit, I am rather impressed that you somehow managed to best Umbriel. But it makes no difference. You stand no chance against me."

"Yeah, you're right." Everyone was shocked to hear the words come from the prince. "I can't stop you. I'm running on empty as it is. But luckily for me, I don't need to. This whole thing is already over. You just don't know it yet..."

Oberon looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Is that right?"

Astro smiled and pointed towards the castle. "I know about Mab…"

Oberon's eyes widened, and Uran looked stunned. Everyone else however just looked confused. "Who the fuck is Mab?" Cayenne asked. She was totally lost here.

"She's our psycho bitch of a great-grandmother…"

Everyone's heads turned yet again as Cressida appeared, floating down towards the ground. She was holding something in her hand… something that seemed to get quite the reaction from Oberon. "Cressida?! Where did you get that?!" he shouted.

She ignored him, continuing her explanation. "Mab was a tyrant. Even worse than grandpa was. But the breaking point was when he tried to keep her from marrying grandma Titania. He started a civil war, dividing the gods and pantheons into two sides. He eventually won, and he sealed her away underneath the island of Avalon," she said, holding up the item in her hand. "With this key…"

"Return that to where you found it at once!" Oberon shouted.

Cressida smiled as she held the glowing orb in her hand. "I bet grandma Mab would be pretty pissed to figure out all the stuff you've been up to while she's been locked away. I mean, taking over her throne, marrying the woman she rejected, reworking how the entire kingdom was run," she said. "She'd probably kill you."

Oberon glared at her. "How did you get that key?!" he asked. He'd taken every precaution to keep it hidden. He hadn't wanted even the slightest chance of his mother being released again.

Cressida hummed. "You made the key so that only someone of your blood could break it. But you surrounded it with barriers that were too strong for anyone in the family, besides you, to get to it," she said. "But we're weak to dark magic. So a dark magic user would have a much easier time breaking through it."

Oberon looked towards Astro, who smirked and shrugged his shoulder. "I may not be able to open the key, but I was able to get it for her. I was honestly pretty surprised when she asked, but…"

Nia looked at her brother surprised. So that's where he'd been off to. Oberon growled. "Cressida, I am ordering you to put that key back this-!" Cressida gripped the key tightly, and Oberon paled as a small crack showed up on it.

"Shut, up," she said, glaring at him. "Just shut up for once. I'm talking now. And you're going to listen to me for once. Otherwise I'm going to shatter this key, and we'll all get to see if grandma Mab is as crazy as you made her out to be."

"She will kill us all!" Oberon yelled.

"Oh, I bet she would. She'd kill every last one of us. That's what I'm counting on."

She held up the key and smiled, and everyone else shared a mix of worried and confused glances. From what they were hearing, there was someone even more powerful and dangerous than Oberon, and… her release was in the hands of what looked like a very unstable teenage girl.

Cressida held the key out, and Oberon's eyes stayed locked on it. "It's kind of funny. I never saw you look afraid before grandpa. But now that you're mom might be about to break loose, you look terrified," she said smirking. "It's funny. And a little ironic, seeing as you make us feel the same way every day."

"Cressida…" he said warningly.

She tightened her grip again. "I said shut up!" she yelled. Causing another crack. "Here's what's going to happen. You're going to swear not only to let Titania and all of her friends go, but to never try and force her back here again," she ordered. "And while we're at it, you're going to let the rest of us come and go as we please. Not just me and Titania, but Umbriel, mother, Uncle Uran, all of us. We're no longer going to be bound to this island or your call. Ever."

Oberon looked at her in disbelief. "You would dare betray-?!"

"It's not a betrayal!" Cressida yelled. "A betrayal would imply that I had any loyalty to you or this place from the beginning! I don't! I've always hated this place! I've always hated this family! I stayed because I had no choice!" she yelled. "You decided everything for everyone, and we just had to go along with it! But no more! Not one more second, you hear me?!"

"You don't get to decide my fate, or Titania's, or anyone else's! So you either swear to let us go and live our own lives, or I'll just let Mab loose and she'll raze this entire place to the ground! It doesn't really make a difference to me! As long as you lose, I'm fine!"

"Cressida…"

"Say it! I want your word! Forswear Titania and the rest of the family, now!"

"Cressida!"

"NOW!"

She raised the key up into the air and prepared to slam it down, but then Oberon called out. "You have my word, I will not make a move against Titania or her allies, and from here on you may all come and go as you please…"

The girl stopped just as she was about to let go, and then looked up towards her grandfather. He had a neutral expression on his face. "You… you what?" she asked, confused. Had she really just heard what she'd heard?

"I forswear Titania Butterfly, and the rest of the family may some and go as they please," he said before looking towards Titania. "You lot know not what you toy with. In the face of a force like Mab, I cannot but concede. You and you friends may leave unharmed."

Everyone sat in silence at the words hung in the air, and then Nia got up and walked towards him. "So, you're not ever going to come back? You're going to leave us along for good?" she asked, just to be clear.

Oberon grunted. "Oberon's word is and has always remained unbroken. You and yours may go in peace," he said. "Though it is disappointing that all of you would go to such lengths to deny what is rightfully yours. I will never understand the mortal mind. Avalon itself could have been under your rule."

Nia frowned at him. "That doesn't matter," she said, shaking her head. "The person who decided whether or not I stayed in mewni and ruled there, or I came to Avalon and started learning from you, was not you. It's my choice."

Oberon narrowed his eyes, and then turned to leave. "A poor choice indeed. But as you say, yours to make. And to regret. Now, I would very much appreciate it if you and yours took your leave. Cressida, place the key and seals back," he said before vanishing.

"Is… is that really it? He's just leaving?" Junji asked.

"Do not mistake my lord's silence as approval. He has simply gone off to sulk." They all turned and saw Queen Titania standing nearby. "But, as he said, his word will remain unbroken. He will not make any move against you and yours from here on."

While some of the others looked worried, Uran let out a sigh of relief. "Oh my god, I can't believe we survived that… dad is never gonna talk to me again I think…" He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing, but he could figure that out later. Right now he just felt relieved this was over.

Queen Titania let out an amused giggle. "You would forgive me for waiting so long to formally introduce myself. But I felt waiting for a most appropriate time might be for the better. I am Queen Titania," she said bowing towards them. "I am more than a bit impressed that you have managed to best my husband. Even I had not expected you to bring Mab into play. It was quite a daring play," she said looking towards Astro.

The prince shook his head. "No. It wasn't me," he said before pointing towards Cressida. "It was all her idea. She told me everything about it. Mab, the key, the seals. All I did was break the doors down. She did everything else… she beat Oberon."

Everyone looked towards Cressida, who still seemed stunned at what happened. Everything had just seemed to sink in for her. She'd… she'd just threatened her grandfather. She'd almost doomed Avalon. She… "Oof!" She stumbled back as she felt something run into her, then looked down and then saw Nia, who had wrapped her arms around the older girl.

"Thank you…"

Cressida looked down at her surprised, and then huffed. "I didn't do it for you. I did it because I… I was just tired of how things were around here. It was all for me. You just got lucky," she said crossing her arms.

Nia smiled up at her. "Maybe, but I still owe you one," she said hugging her tighter.

"Whatever… grandfather's gonna kill me…"

"He will do no such thing my child," Queen Titania assured. "Your grandfather is a stubborn one, and he will no doubt remain bitter about not having his way. But rest assured that I won't allow any frustration out on you. He may be all powerful, but he's still married," she said smirking. "It took courage and resolve to do what you did, Cressida. And I for one am impressed."

"Yeah, great. Some weird shit happened and everything is okay now. Can we get the hell out of here already?" Cayenne asked.

Astro let out a sigh. "For once I actually agree with you."

Nia nodded. "Yeah, let's go home…"

Everyone stood at the shores of the island as they began to board the ship. Alexander, Star, Uran, and Nia stood outside before Queen Titania, who had stayed with them the whole time. Neither Oberon nor Umbriel had been seen as they'd made their way back, which they were all honestly thankful for.

"Tis sad to see you all leave so soon. But under these circumstances, I understand why you're quick to take your leave," she said before talking forward and hugging both Alexander and Uran. "It was wonderful to see you both again. Perhaps next time we meet, it will be under less… complicated, terms."

Alexander chuckled. "Well, I can never say family visits aren't interesting. Though maybe next time a simple dinner will suffice?" he asked.

Uran hugged his mother back. "I'll try not to be a stranger… if father ever cools down enough to see me again, feel free to let me know."

"Don't fret over your father. I'll handle him," she said before turning to Star. "And I do hope we have a chance to meet more formally. Anyone who Uran was willing to stand against his father for must be quite the woman," she said grabbing her hands. "I'd like to make a better impression than we did today."

Star smiled back at her. "Oh, I think we all have our oddballs in the family. I won't hold it against you," she said. Uran had always talked positively about his mother, and she wanted to be on good terms with her mother-in-law if possible.

Titania then looked down towards Nia, kneeling down before her and putting her hands on her shoulder. "I realize that your first experience here was not a kind one, and I very much would understand if you never returned. But know that you will always have a place here among us my dear. Should you ever need our help, all you need due is come and ask," she said.

Nia smiled up at her. "Thanks grandma," she said, giving her a hug. "I don't think I would mind coming back. You know, as long as I get to leave when I want to."

Titania laughed. "Oberon will keep his promise. The man is nothing if not true to his word," she said. "I shall be sure to come by and visit this mewni of yours as well some time. Sounds like quite an interesting place."

Nia nodded and then turned towards her cousin. Cressida and her mother were standing off to the side. The former had a pout on her face, and the ladder looked as stoic as ever. "By sis…" Uran said, offering a wave.

"Hurry up and leave…" Cordelia said, rolling her eyes.

Nia ran over towards them and stopped in front of her cousin. "So… where do you plan on going? If you really don't like it here, you could come back with us? We have more than enough room back on mewni. Or in the Vanguard. You'd fit in either way."

Creissda looked at her surprised. After everything that happened, she couldn't believe the girl was willing to offer her a place among her home. "I… I don't think so," she said rubbing her arm. "I might just travel some. I don't know." There were plenty of human things she had still been interested in checking out, but never gotten the chance. With her no longer being on Oberon's leash, she was free to go where she pleased.

It was an odd feeling, and she would have to get used to it.

"Okay then. But if you ever want to come by and visit then you know where to find us. Even if I'm in mewni, the others will be able to let you know and you can come see us," she said happily. "And uh… I guess Umbriel can come too."

"Fuck Umbriel!" Astro called from the ship.

"Astro!" Star said, narrowing her eyes.

"Sorry mother…"

"Yeah, well my mom ain't here! Fuck that guy!" Cayenne yelled.

"I don't think you have to worry about my brother anymore. I'm not sure how he's going to deal with losing, but I very much doubt he'll ever want to see either of you again," Cressida said. "Now get out of here already. You're so sweet it's making me sick."

Nia gave her one last wave, and then nodded towards her aunt before heading onto the ship. With one final wave from her and the others, the cargo door began to close. As the ship began to take off, Titania looked over her shoulder and saw her husband standing nearby. "Are you sure you didn't want to see them off?" she asked amused.

Oberon just grunted in response. He still couldn't believe he had been bested. And by the weakest of his offspring at that. Were times truly changing so much, or had he simply lost his touch. "We cannot hope to cling to our ways forever my dearest," Titania said patting his shoulder. "At some point or another, it must be entrusted to them."

The king of Avalon sneered. Leaving the future of Avalon and the rest of the world such… inexperienced hands, was worrying to him. But he couldn't deny that the potential was quite staggering. "We shall see…"

Nia walked over towards her brother, who looked like he was ready to drift off to sleep any moment. Sear was curled up next to him, letting the prince lay on him like a pillow. She sat next to him and laid her head on his arm. "Hey bro…" she greeted. "Pretty crazy day, huh?"

Astro hummed and nodded. "Yeah, pretty nuts… you okay?" he asked.

The princess nodded. "I'm good. How about you?"

"Well, I feel like I've been run over by a tribe of giants, but other than that I'm fine," he said, smirking at her. "I told you we could do it. That you could do it."

Nia shook her head. "Nah, I couldn't. Everyone else helped me. You were the one who found a way out. I mean, technically Cressida did but…"

"Why don't we just give this one to her, and agree that you're both pretty amazing." They looked up and saw Star making her way in. She took a seat beside the two of them, putting arm around Astro's shoulder. "You two look a bit sleepy. Need some rest."

"Dear stump yes…" Astro said resting his head against her shoulder. Nia sprawled out across both of their laps and used Sear's tail as a pillow. The dragon let out a pur as he heated his body up, just enough to warm the three of them.

Star smiled to herself as her children slowly drifted off to sleep, feeling more than a little nostalgic. They had been much smaller the last time they all napped on her like this. They'd grown so much, in so many ways, since then.

She knew that there were still things they needed to be concerned about. Catching up with Uran, taming things back on mewni, and she was sure the Vanguard probably had their own troubles as well. She wanted to ask them about everything. But right now, she knew her children needed their rest.

"You two sleep up now. You earned it…"

A/N: And so end's Nia's arc! Bet you guys didn't see Cressida being the one to bring down Oberon, eh? If you're curious about Mab, she's a character that never got revealed in the show. The creators gave some info about her which is how I knew she was a tyrant and apparently even more powerful and terrifying than Oberon. I had planned something like this from the get go. I didn't want Nia to actually defeat Oberon. Just come pretty damn close!

I also wanted it to be Cressida to be the one to get the key and threaten him. There was a reason why I emphasized her bring the one getting picked on in the family. I do want her and Umbriel and the others to pop back up in the story eventually (in one-shots and somewhere in the God Arc) I'll have to add them to the wiki at some point...

I might do one more short chapter as a final epilogue/prologue, and even though I'm super excited to do it I'm gonna wait a bit. Both to do some one-shots to set up for it, and to work on some of my other stories. I'll probably get the cover for it though... and I already have a theme in mind for it.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed it!
