Ways of the Dark

Hermione is hiding a secret and it is about to be revealed. Ron and Harry feel betrayed by everyone and fight. Who will win? Loosely based off The Dark Lady Series by CleoTheo.

Chapter 4: Year 5 Drama

It was the start of the school year and the platform was packed. Kids were everywhere, parents crying because their kids were in their last year or their first year, and but most of the chatter was pointed towards a raven haired boy with glasses.

Harry tried to stay hidden as people around him said t o one another about how he wants attention and spreads lies. He just kept his head down most of the time until they got into a compartment.

Hermione came onto the train and got ready for an amazing performance. As she got on, she started to cry making sure everyone saw her. She then went to a compartment she knew would get a word around.

When she opened the door, she saw the 2 biggest gossips in the whole school, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil.

Hermione stopped her crying for and faked a sniff to get the girls attention.

"S-Sorry. I thought this compartment was empty", she said with tears and fake sadness.

Lavender and Parvati saw the witch they shared a dorm with and looked at one another.

"It's okay Hermione. Come sit with us and tell us what's wrong", Lavender said gesturing to the seat next to her.

Hermione was thrilled it actually worked. She made a small smile and sniffed, "Thanks Lavender." And she sat down.

Parvati looked to Hermione with a concerned face, "What happened?"

Hermione tried to show she was catching her breathe and wiped her eyes for effect. She looked at the 2 girls and said, "Well over the summer, I was kidnapped by Lucius Malfoy. Harry, Ron and Dumbledore got me back but a couple nights later, Harry said he had a dream that I was You-Know-Who's daughter and that I was evil. He convinced Ron that he was right and now them and Dumbledore think I'm an evil spawn. They kicked me out of the Burrow and said when we come back to school they will tell everyone about my "evil plans". I tried to tell them it was just a dream but they insisted. I now know what people mean when they say Harry has gone crazy. I didn't believe it at first but I can't deny what he said was crazy."

After Hermione finished her well rehearsed story, she started to tear again and Lavender and Parvati looked at each other with frowns.

"That is so rude and stupid! How could you be You-Know-Who's daughter! 1. You are a Muggleborn and 2. You have helped Harry multiple times! He should know that you wouldn't have helped if you were evil! Just because of a stupid dream!" Lavender started to yell.

Parvati looked at Hermione but calmly said, "I'm so sorry that happened to you Hermione. We both will make sure everyone knows about Harry, Ron, and Dumbledores lies and if anyone believes them, we will tell them the truth of what happened." She smiled at Hermione.

Hermione smiled at the girls, "Thanks guys. I don't know why he started acting like this. I just hope he doesn't go too crazy. I'm going to go find a compartment for myself if that is okay?"

Lavender smiled, "Yes. We get it. You best friends and the HeadMaster think you are evil. You should have a breather", and Lavender and Parvati left the compartment.

When the girls were gone, Hermione dried her eyes and smirked. This year was gonna be interesting. By the time the sorting ceremony is done, Harry, Ron, and Dumbledore will have no one believing them.
