The malignant cancer of a singularity caused the world to recoil. Chaldea was certainly working on it but as with all humans their scope of view was still limited. That left the greater will of the world with a choice...or at least a semblance of one. Did it count on humanity to accomplish it alone or did it take action.

The decision was simple, though the servant that they summoned could not be a traditional one. It certainly tried to summon the other categories but none were able to answer the call with the nature of the singularity. So the only true option was to summon the servant who wielded the greatest power outside of the normal confines of reality.

Foreigner really didn't care for its current situation. It certainly wasn't the worst possibility since some of the people were nice, but there were so many people trying to get at him. His philosophy still ran strong, only kill those who want to kill him, but the amount of times he'd been forced to use it was disheartening.

It snapped out of its thoughts as a sudden surge of energy pulsed. 'Guess that means they finally showed up, maybe they'll finish up so I can be done.'

A surge of discontent shot through their body, though it only got a small eye roll in response. It should know they don't have any real motivation aside from their desires, though the lack of killing intent was appreciated. Didn't mean they wanted to get moving but it certainly wouldn't hurt to meet up with the 'saviors' of humanity. Honestly it seemed a little cliche.

Foreigner leapt off it's rock and started a stroll towards where the energy surge had come from. Of course they could also swing through the village and have some conversations...but if the sudden surge of killing intent meant anything that wasn't going to happen. They let out a small sigh and spun out of the way of a giant claw that gouged the ground. Seemed to be some sort of drake...dragon...honestly it didn't really matter.

They looked up rather disinterested and spoke plainly, "Die"

The monster collapsed to the ground with a stilted roar but it unfortunately it was still enough of a roar to get the attention of the rest . An annoyed sigh escaped their lips as their power flexed again causing hundreds of monsters to plummet to their deaths.

Hopefully this wouldn't cause too many issues…

The last master really didn't understand what was going on, and that was a feat in itself at this point. This singularity had slipped by their attention given what had initial seemed to be it's latent status, and only recently had it shifted to an actually threatening state. This could be a result of the singularities' odd state, some weird mix of the Holy Roman Empire and various mythological monsters.

Basically it was just one giant mess so they had no idea who could be controlling this singularity. Roman had guessed that it may be a powerful Caster with an enhanced territory creation but it was all just guessing. Personally they figured just focus on whatever was in front of them and deal with it later. Still, even with that logic shift they still had a field of dead beasts. No wounds on the outside and not even any actual signs of a struggle and a perfectly intact village on the horizon. A few of the servants voiced their confusion but the master was more focused on the approaching men on horseback.

"Hello there," Cried the first one

The second pulled their horse to a stop," Welcome to the city of Aachen, why don't we get you inside the walls."

It was a little odd with how trusting the people were, but it was something worth checking out. These people also didn't seem to be any real threat. Light armor, basic swords, and no sense of magic coming off of them. Maybe having four servants, well three and a demi-servant, at your back makes them a little overconfident but as long as nothing happened it was okay. The second spoke up again breaking the silence, " So you all aren't from around here."

"Yeah, just traveling around trying to figure out what exactly is going on here." Robin Hood spoke up.

The second nodded," Makes sense, I mean we've had a few outsiders that look a bit like you come in but most didn't stick around long."

The first cut in, "Didn't stick around or couldn't."

"It was mostly didn't, I mean after the first two."

The master cast a look over to Mashu who looked just as confused at the conversation. These two locals knew that they were obviously different, and had had encounters with other servants as well. It made the master wonder who or what was defending this village. And hopefully they could be an ally.

The group finally got into the town and were greeted with something so incredibly mundane and peaceful that it was honestly unsettling. Kids played in the streets and parents talked casually on the side. It was almost like there wasn't a field of dead beasts just outside the border. There were a few odd looks from kids but even then there was no outright reaction to them as they worked their way towards the towns center. There an old man sat cross legged with a lanky pipe hanging out of his mouth. Plumes of smoke came out as the man ran his eyes over them cooly, several plumes flew before they spoke up. "Hmmm...Seems that they were right, you all would get here eventually."

The master leaned forward before speaking, as the man just chuckled, "How did you hear about us?"

The other servants looked on with a mix of curiosity and caution, the fact they were predicted was worrying. The old man didn't seem to care," A good kid, Yogiri or something, came through the town. We gave him a house , some food and when one of those beasts attacked…..he handled it. Afterwards he told me something before heading off again; Someone else will be here to help with that"

The old man gestured to the horizon where the master was finally able to see something resembling a moving mountain cutting across the horizon. The master felt his jaw drop and he heard the exclamation of disbelief coming from some of his servants.

The old man chuckled at their apparent expression, "Well….I can only say good luck."

Foreigner continued it's stroll through the forest enjoying the unnaturally peaceful night, though they may be to blame for that. Though he could let his mind wander a bit, mainly to the fact that Chaldea finally reared its head. He still felt the pressure from the world in the back of his skull to address the issue at hand, but with Chaldea here it was more so their job now. Of course that didn't change the fact that whoever was running this mess of a world was trying to figure out a way to handle them.

They had tried very hard when Foreigner had first been summoned to kill them, sending monster after monster to eliminate them. Of course that obviously went nowhere and led to several towns being saved in the process. Though that last one let him make some good conversation, making it worth the servants that were sent back to back to try and take his head. It drove the boss of this absolutely mad they assumed seeing their powerful servants put down again and again. Now it had changed into the boss trying to feel out how exactly to get at him, with monsters being sent out along with the occasional trap or assassin.

'Speaking of which,' Their foot came down and they heard the tell-tale click of a magical trap activating, followed immediately by the trap malfunctioning and destroying itself. Even then it certainly wasn't quiet as there still was an ear ringing boom that emanated out from where they were standing. 'Guess they were learning a little bit.' It wasn't an attempt to kill him so it didn't set off his senses. The question was; what was the sound calling.

That question was answered quickly as an arrow slammed into the ground a few dozen feet away. They looked at with a resigned sigh before pausing and chuckling when their senses never triggered. Seemed that Archer or whatever they like being called, had wised up after their wizard had died. Though their genius plan had been to outright assault the lone servant walking around the countryside. Not only was that rude they were also incredibly stupid about it. The Archer on the other hand seemed to have put part of it together. Though the plan still left room for error, so a solid B plus in the end.

Another arrow landed wide, but following it was the mass sound of whistling. Also called an annoying headache for them. A glance up showed the hurtling wall of death and pain, for anybody else at least. They lazily raised a hand and with a very bored expression called out," Die."

They only targeted the arrows most likely to hit them, really no point to kill them all. Of course he was just killing their forward momentum forcing them to drop far too early while the others sailed past and out of the way. However the Archer immediately fired again filling the air with a random array of arrows. "So this is how you're doing it…"

Seemed that the Archer or whoever may be the brains of the brains of the whole mysterious evil group was trying to make this a war of attrition. Without the killing intent they couldn't just finish off quickly, and they would eventually get tired just killing the arrows for hours on end. Of course the world was serving as their energy source so they were a bit more than a traditional servant. It honestly wasn't something they were entirely sure about, but it didn't matter how much he understood. All he needed to know was the objective and that he was here.

They moved behind a tree for some sort of cover letting the arrows land around him before moving out. They shot out and quickly moved up a tree before leaping off the top. The one good part of the world bringing them to...wherever this was, was that all of their physical abilities were cranked to the max. So they had a monstrous height to the leap giving them a good field of view. Trees stretched out with an annoying amount of dragons eventually turning into rocky crags which they knew was full of people, though a few less bandits. 'Nothing, nothing, dragon, nothing, no-there it is.'

A glance of light came from the top of one of the rocks, some sort of jewelry or armor. It was almost sad how that small piece proved to be their demise since with a simple hand extension the glint fell down, down, and away.

The master was confused, annoyed, and most importantly already tired from fighting. Not physically but just mentally since all they had been fighting were weak and opportunistic monsters scrambling from the woods. It was positively mind numbing. Hector certainly wasn't complaining at the easy fights and nothing was even coming close to pressuring Siegfried. Roman was even a little confused considering the power of the supposed Caster that a single servant hadn't come after them. They certainly weren't exactly subtle when it came to a magical signature so that fact was compounded even more.

That thought process was killed off when the entire party came to a halt when a strange oppressive presence washed over them. It was a brief second, but it felt like five maybe even ten. The servants were confused as well and it only got worse as Roman called over the intercoms in frantic gibberish.

The master responded with a little amusement.

"Oh thank God, you flatlined for a second the-"

The rest faded to white noise as the group tightened up. The power had been immense and absolutely smothering. It was almost like being in the presence of a god, and this was coming from somebody who had summoned and confronted gods. The group pinpointed the direction and with a simple nod between them all.

Foreigner was mildly inconvenienced and even more mildly aggravated as the mountain continued to run...walk...stroll away from him. A small part of him wanted to lash out and stop the mountain dead in its tracks, but he was still sticking to his 'moral' standard. Though he was honestly starting to feel bad for killing these monsters, this had to be at least the two hundredth one and he was probably lowballing. Really made him feel like the bad guy.

As he stood there the burning returned. Apparently the world was getting aggravated that he hadn't yet finished the job and cleared this malignant cancer of a timeline. He was starting to get annoyed with the pressure, both literal and figurative, that it was endlessly applying. He let go of the restraints for half second and saw the mountain stall as the pressure released.

It was kind of funny that the world had summoned him and still had to bow to him in some capacity. On the same hand it was a little annoying to have this much power. There was a sudden blast of green light streaming from the mountain in his general direction. No killing intent which meant that he couldn't trace back to the Caster but the beam itself on the other hand…

He casually waved a hand and the light dissipated as if mimicking that album cover from the band he couldn't remember. There was a brief moment where the mountain seemed to speed up but the range didn't matter in the slightest. One leg gave out, then another, and then like a series of dominoes the rest collapsed, dropping the mountain and making...well, a mountain. He briefly considered abandoning it to the Chaldeans but a sudden storm of of magic fueled beams rained down from the top of the mountain targeting some vague specks in the distance.

Did he really need to save the Chaldeans, they were certainly capable of dealing with it themselves.

More lasers rained down doubling in quantity and ferocity, as if God himself was answering that question.

Time to go help

The Chaldeans cut their way up the mountain as quickly as they could, which considering the injuries Robin had sustained was not the optimal speed. The beams were still raining down but it seems that their opponent was less willing to carpet bomb their own base. Though it was a certain stroke of luck that the mountain had stopped moving.

The master cut the unnecessary thoughts out as they landed at the top and were greeted with a massive magical presence. They couldn't even identify the servant any more as their form was beyond distorted with the swirling magical power circulating around them. It almost felt as if-

-No...

-No, way...

-It was. The servant had bonded with the grail and used it to ascend to even higher heights. It was entirely possible that they could be considered a deity in some capacity. This was the true challenge of this singularity and one that they were more than willing to meet.

That idea was immediately put to the test as Mashu was forced to deflect a burst of magical energy hurtling right towards the master. Siegfried looked to follow up the deflected attack and managed to find some sort of purchase, cleaving hard through some of the distorted flesh. Robin and Hector also tried to land but both were defended by the pseudo-deity before a barrage of spells rained towards the group.

They weaved and dodged around the battlefield attempting several to land any sort of heavy strike but only managing glancing blows. This pattern continued for a moment until a small presence made itself known on the edge of the platform, mostly by tripping over the edge and stumbling.

The pseudo-deity immediately reached out firing a laser without considering. The master almost called out a warning but the figure suddenly raised a hand and the beam dissipated. There was a solid beat of silence before the strange figure spoke," I'm sure you know how it works at this point."

The pseudo-deity suddenly screamed and took to the skies rushing with reckless abandon. The master turned to look but stopped short when the intruding servant simply gave a chuckle and declared," Die."

It was utterly unenthusiastic and bored which was worrying considering what immediately followed was this massive threatening servant plummeting from the sky as their body dissolved into dust.

'That was rather anticlimactic'

They weren't exactly sure what the expectation was though. Sure whoever that had been could ascend and gain a massive amount of power, but death was still a constant. So much painstaking effort undone because they were attacked. Well at the least it meant the bulk of his work was done; the active aggressor of the singularity was removed. The Chaldean master spoke up stumbling over their words," W-What the hell."

It certainly was shocking just seeing something like that just die like that, but there was such a variety of servants with backgrounds and legends it shouldn't be so odd. Though it was incredibly overpowered. He turned over and saw the group standing at guard with strained expressions as if something was weighing on them. There was a brief silence before it all clicked. Seemed that whatever that servant had become had strained their body a bit so that their true power was leaking out. Probably a bit too much even for these heroes. He wrangled it all back up and pressed it back into his body.

The worry seemed to let up but the weapons were still drawn, thankfully they were drawn in defense and not aggression. They may have been the good guys but his code was his code and anyone that tried to kill him had it turned around. Now there were nuances and slight exceptions but those didn't matter right now. He sighed, "Look if I wanted to fight you I wouldn't have killed...whatever that had been"

Looks of distrust rained down from the servants but the master seemed to regain themself and actually move the conversation forward. "What are you?"

That was a loaded question, but the master would get the simple answer," I'm Grand Foreigner, unfortunately."

The world buzzed in the back of his head, not in annoyance this time but rather in warning. They turned and looked off in the distance feeling something change rather than seeing it. "How can there be a grand foreigner though, I thought it only applied to the standard classes."

"Look, I only know what the world told me."

Which honestly hadn't been much, though even if they had been given more info they probably wouldn't have fixed this singularity any faster. Being used was not a thing they actually enjoyed, though helping the village and the few others had been nice. Made them feel like a hero again.

The group prattled on but their attention was actually drawn towards a boiling point in the sky where reality seemed to be erupting. It was a little confusing at first but it quickly spelled itself out as the ground turned to cool grey stone when reached. One final middle finger meant to destroy this singularity and then move on to actual history, a bit like a virus. Infect one area and quickly spread to the others. 'Guess this is objective two then.'

The world hummed in the back of his head. This time actually as an affirmative and not the complete aggravating buzz whenever he went against it's, annoying, wishes. A closer look and the storm seemed to be gaining speed as it rushed towards them, not an immediate threat for him but a definite one for the Chaldeans. With a light sigh he tuned back into the conversation to catch a debate between the servants about where he was pulling his power from," As much as I would love to answer I would suggest you find a way to make your getaway."

Various cries of annoyance and disagreement but he just raised a hand and killed the sound leaving their mouths. Irresponsible, most definitely, but also incredibly effective. "Look, this whole little mess is actively destroying itself so unless you want to become nothing."

The question hung and the party quickly cut to the exit, which was really just a cliff. But now it was a waiting game for the Chaldean heroes to put some distance and actually make it out of the singularity before he put an end to this. The world hummed in the back of his head as more of a helpful affirmative but it came across as just flat pandering.

Another forest turned to dust making the view a little less pretty and little more like the city. The storm was only a few miles away now and still building speed. Seconds passed and the distance shrunk even more until he was able to feel the Chaldeans leave the singularity, or it could have just been the world letting him know. It honestly didn't matter. Just made his goal that much closer.

The storm was almost right on top of him but with unflinching calm he reached a hand out and declared, "Die."

He felt his influence stretch out and dig into the very fabric that comprised this singularity. Defying the power that created it and defying the bonds that should hold a servant from unleashing their entire true power. The storm immediately started to recede but his power dug deeper finding the very root of the singularities origin. The magic seemed to rebel and try to resist but death was what he made it. It was cut away and reduced to nothing and the timeline was restored. The change washed over him and echoed throughout the land.

A buzz returned to the back of his head, but this time he wasn't against it or even annoyed by it. It was more of a thank you and get the hell out. Not completely unwarranted but he was fine with being done. He'd been the hero, helped the village, and made Chaldeas' job laughably easy. Seemed like a good note to go out on. His body didn't fade into dust like the other servants but instead seemed to just pop out of existence.
