Episode 444: The Lightning of Elesa!
A whole week has passed since dealing with Team Shadow. Sora has exchanged Whirlipede and Trubbish for Palpitoad and Golett. Since then, Sora has been training for the Gym battle coming up since Elesa has been chosen to be a judge for the Nimbasa City Pokémon Contest.
Kairi has been doing some training of her own. She has practiced with Audino for the Contest. She figured Emolga would be great for the second round of the contest when she makes it through the appeals round.
"You were great, Emolga, Audino. I'm so proud of you," Kairi said.
"Emolga," Emolga said.
"Audino," Audino said.
Stephan and Luke were watching Sora and Kairi train hard for the Contest coming up.
"She's really working hard," Stephan said.
"She should since I heard from Sora and Kairi that she won the Hoenn and Sinnoh Grand Festivals. I was amazed to hear it," Luke said.
"Wonder what the Contest is going to be like," Stephan said.
"I think we should find out for ourselves," Luke said.
It was now the day of the Contest, so Beatrice has shown up to register for the Contest.
"What do you mean there is no more spots left to register?" Beatrice asked.
"I'm sorry to tell you this, but we are all full up. There is nothing I can do beyond this point," the clerk said.
"This is an outrage!" Beatrice huffed. She stormed off. "The nerve! How dare she tell me that I cannot participate because there is no more room! I am hoping that Kairi girl is taking part in it, because I want nothing more to see her lose the Contest!"
On the next day of the Nimbasa City Pokémon Contest, Kairi has gotten dressed into her Contest dress as Sora, Hilbert, Cheren, Bianca Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth has shown up.
"Hi everyone," Kairi greeted. Bianca was awestruck in seeing Kairi in a dress for the first time ever.
"Oh my gosh, Kairi! You look very pretty in that dress!" Bianca said.
"I'll say," Sora said, lovestruck. Kairi giggled.
"Hilda did say you looked good," Hilbert said.
"I swear Kairi looks just like a princess in that dress!" Bianca said.
"I heard that this is how the Contests are done in the Sinnoh Pokémon Contests. If I understand right, you have two Contests Ribbons, don't you?" Cheren asked.
"Yes I do," Kairi said.
"Just know that we will be rooting for you," Bianca said.
"But I'll be rooting for you the most," Sora said, making Kairi blush.
"I know you will, Sora," Kairi said. Sora gave his girlfriend a kiss on the cheek, making her giggle.
Just as the Contest was close to starting, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, and Axew are sitting with Stephan and Stephan.
"Where are Sora and the others?" Stephan asked.
"Hilbert said he wanted to wish Kairi luck before the Contest," Cilan said.
"What's the difference between being a Coordinator and a trainer?" Stephan asked.
"A Pokémon Coordinator dispays a Pokémon's moves through beauty, coolness, and other things," Cilan said.
"And Kairi is a real natural in the Contests," Ventus said.
Just then Trip has entered the Contest hall, looking for Elesa to challenge her into a battle. Georgia and Burgundy has taken their seats since they heard about Kairi was being part of the Contest.
In the backstage, Kairi has placed Audino's Pokéball in a Ball Capsule and placed a blue Music Seal on it. And she saw a friendly and familair face.
"Hello there, Kairi," Hector greeted.
"Hector! How nice to see you here," Kairi said. "I haven't seen you since the Striaton City Pokémon Contest. How have you been?"
"I'm doing good, Kairi. I won, two Ribbons since we last saw each other," Hector said, showing her his Ribbons.
"So have I," Kairi said, showing Hector her Ribbons.
"Wow, how nice. I'm just happy to see you again, because I never had an opponent quite like you," Hector said.
"Thank you, Hector. May the best Pokémon Coordinatror win," Kairi said, holding her hand.
"You too, Kairi," Hector said.
Both of Kairi and Hector shook hands.
The Nimbasa City Contest has begun as Diane has entered the stage along with Elesa, Mr. Basil, and Julianna Minerva.
"Welcome one and all to our fablous Nimbasa Contest! Coordinators have come all this way to the beautiful Nimbasa City to compete and have a chance to win the beautiful Nimbasa Ribbon! And as a reminder, each of our Coordinators must win a grand total of five Contest Ribbons in order to compete in the Grand Festival! And now, it's time to introduce our panel of judges! The head of the Pokémon Contest Committee, Mr. Nathaniel Basil!" Diane announced.
"I am happy to be here!" Mr. Basil said.
"Miss Unova, Julianna Minerva!" Diane announced.
"Warm greetings to all you Contest fans!" Julianna said.
"And finally, our third judges, a trainer who has need for an introduction, you all know her as the Shining Beauty! The electrifying Gym Leader of the Nimbasa City Gym, it is Elesa!" Diane announced.
"Welcome everyone!" Elesa said with a smile. Many of Elesa's fans have arrived. One of them is wearing Elesa's outfit.
"And just I don't feel left out, I am Diane! And now, let us begin with our first contestant! It's Hector!" Diane announced. Hector came on out. Hector came to the stage with a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a black Smoke Seal.
"Come on out, Dwebble!" Hector called out. His Dwebble came on out with a puff of black smoke. His Dwebble came out of its rocky home and does a little stance. "Okay, Dwebble! Stealth Rock!" Dwebble sends out pointed rocks all around.
"Hector makes a start by sending out Stealth Rock all around!" Diane announced.
"Okay, Dwebble! Jump from rock to rock!" Hector called out. Dwebble jumps from rock to rock while doing a little tap dance. The crowd were enjoying every bit of the dance done by the hermit crab Pokémon. "Now, use X-Scissor on the rocks!" Dwebble comes at the rocks with X-Scissor, shattering them into bits of dust. The dust seems to sparkle for some reason.
"Okay, now, use Rock Blast!" Hector ordered. Dwebble spins around and sends out five rocks; each one bigger than the last. "Now, use X-Scissor again!" Dwebble came right at the rocks, making them shatter into smaller bits. Everyone were amazed by how a small Pokémon like Dwebble is able to smash such large rocks into little pieces like it was no problem!
"That was amazing! Let's hear what our judges have to say!" Diane announced.
"What Dwebble lacks in sizie, it makes up with such terrific strength!" Mr. Basil said.
"Dwebble may be cute, but it's very tough. Also, I thought te way Dwebble went from rock to rock with Stealth Rock was adorable!" Julianna said.
"Dwebble is a force to be reckoned with! And the way Dwebble has demonstrated its moves is living proof!" Elesa said.
Not everyone were impressed by what Hector just said.
"Meh, it was luck," Georgia said.
"I second that," Burgundy said.
The Contest went on with a Wailmer rolling on stage and then finishes with a Water Sport. Next is with a Herdier using Fire Fang on a Frisbee while catching it. And now it was Kairi's turn.
"Next we have our next contestant! We have Kairi!" DIane announced as Kairi entered on stage. Stephan, Luke, Georgia, Burgundy, and Trip were awestruck by how she looked.
"Holy crap! She's freaking gorgeous!" Georgia exclaimed.
"Zut alors!" Burgundy added.
"Whoa, She looks amazing!" Stephan exclaimed.
"She sure does," Luke said, blushing at the sight of her beauty.
Trip was just silent as Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill had arrived just in time for Kairi's performance.
"Looks like we made it," Naminé said.
"Azu, Azu!" Azurill chirped.
"We sure did," Riku said. Trip turned to Riku.
"What are you doing here?" Trip asked.
"Came here supporting a friend," Riku said.
'Eevee," Eevee said.
Kairi took out Audino's Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Audino!" Kairi called out. Audino came out with blue music notes spreading everywhere.
"Start things up with Hyper Voice!" Kairi ordered. Audino sends out a Hyper Voice right into the air. Audino has let out a beautiful sound with her Hyper Voice.
"Doesn't that sound beautiful, ladies and gentlemen? It's so lovely!" DIane announced.
"Now, use Disarming Voice!' Kairi ordered. Audino has unleashed Disarming Voice in the same way. It was just as beautiful as Audino's Hyper Voice. The two sound attacks combined, making it sound like a beautiful melody. Just about everyone were captivated by the musical sounds Audino has created.
"This was truly music to my ears. I have loved every bit of it," Mr. Basil said.
"Simply lovely," Julianna said.
"It was a true melody. Any crying child would stop crying from hearing this lovely display of two sound moves," Elesa said.
"And here you have it! And now it is time for our next Coordinator!" Diane announced. Trip was amazed by what he witnessed. He snapped a picture of Audino doing a bow along with Kairi.
"Way to go, Kairi," Riku said.
Burgundy and Georgia were simply speechless by what they saw and heard. As some performances were going on, Sora, Pikachu, and Angel were heading in the back. Hector was impressed by Kairi's display.
"That was a great performance, Kairi. I never would have thought of using Hyper Voice and Disarming Voice the way you did," Hector said.
"I'm glad you liked it, Hector," Kairi said.
"Well, I loved it," Sora said. Kairi turned to her boyfriend with a smile.
"I'm always happy to hear your praise," Kairi said.
"You know him, Kairi?" Hector asked.
"I do. This is my boyfriend Sora," Kairi introduced.
"It's nice to meet you, Hector," Sora said.
"You know about me?" Hector asked, surprised.
"He was there in the Striaton City Pokémon Contest. Sora was there to win a Gym Badge," Kairi said.
"Well, I have to say that you're such a lucky guy, Sora. I mean it," Hector said.
"Thanks Hector," Sora said. Both of Sora and Hector shook hands.
"So, Sora, what did you think of my performance?" Kairi asked.
"I enjoyed every bit of it, Kairi. Cilan did say that it was deliciously soothing and that it deserves a five-star rating," Sora said. Kairi giggled at that.
"That sounds like something Cilan would say," Kairi said.
After a few performances Diane has this announcement to let out.
"Now that the appeals rounds has been concluded, it is time to determine which Coordinators will be moving on to the second round of the Nimbasa Contest! And here we go!" Diane announced as eight Coordinators has been selected Kairi and Hector were among the right finalists. "And here they all are! And now to see which of our Coordinators will be battling each other!" The computer shuffles the Coordinators. Kairi will be having her battle fourth as Hector is having his first.
"Looks like you're having yours first, Hector," Sora said.
"Yeah. I'm hoping to see you on the final stage," Hector said.
"You too," Kairi said.
Hector went on the satge as he battled against a Coordinator with a Roselia as he uses a Duosion. Kairi uses her Emolga against a Shelmet. Emolga's Attract did help her out since the snail Pokémon was a male. After Kairi has on, Hector's Duosion has bested a Karrablast as Kairi's Emolga has bested a Vullabye.
"Those were wonderful battles! And now we're down to two more remaining! And it's Kairi against Hector! Five minutes on the clock and begin!" DIane announced as the clock starts running. Hecotr took out his Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a green Heart Seal.
"Go! Duosion!" Hector called out. Duosion came on out to battle. Emolga's Pokéball is in a Ball Capsule with a yellow Heart seal.
"Go! Emolga! Kairi called out. Emolga came out from a yellow heart. "Emolga! Start things up with Acrobatics!" Emolga comes right at Dusion with Acrobatics.
"Duosion! Use your Protect!" Hector ordered. Duosion forms a protective barrier as Emolga's Acrobatics has bounced right off. Kairi has lost some points from the use.
"Hector makes a good start by using that Protect!" Diane announced.
"Now, use Psyshock!" Hector ordered. Duosion unleashed psychic energy from its body and heads right towards Emolga.
"Dodge and use Acrobatics again!" Kairi ordered. Emolga manages to avoid Duosion's Psyshock. Hector has lost a little bit of points. "Now, use Electro Ball!" Emolga forms a ball of electricity and sends it right at Duosion, landing a hit. Hector has lost some more points. "Electro Ball again!"
"Duosion! Protect!" Hector ordered. Duosion forms a protective barrier and it bounces right off. Kairi loses some points since her attack failed.
"Hector stays in the game with Protect in play!" Diane announced.
"Amolga! Use Aerial Ace!" Kairi ordered. Emolga dashed right at Dousion and lands a direct hit on the mitosis Pokémon. Hector loses some of his points to Kairi's successful attack. "Aerial Ace again!" Emolga lands another Aerial Ace onto Duosion as the clock is now down to three minutes.
"Kairi is starting to make a comeback with Aerial Ace being used repeatedly.
"Duosion! Use Rollout!" Hector ordered. Dousion rolls on the ground and heads right towards Emolga.
"Dodge her Rollout and use Electro Ball!" Kairi ordered. Emolga unleashed Electro Ball and sends it right at Duoison, making Hector lose some more points. "Now, use Acrobatics!" Emolga uses her Acrobatics and comes right at Duosion.
"Protect!" Hector ordered. Dousion uses Protect and Emolga's attack bounces right off, making Kairi lose some more points. "Use Psyshock!" Duosion unleashes Psychock and it lands a hit onto Emolga, making Kairi lose some more points. Two minutes remains on the clock.
"We're at the two minute warning for both parties!" Diane announced.
"Emolga! Aerial Ace!" Kairi ordered. Amolga flew and ot ready to land an Aerial Ace.
"Protect!" Hector ordered. Duosion lands a protective barrier around herself. Emolga doesn't come right towards Duoiosn for some reason. "Why isnt Emolga landing a hit onto Duosion?" As soon as Protect was used up, Emolga struck Duosion down with Aerial Ace. Hector has lost some points from taht hit. "Now, use Electro Ball!" Emolga unleashed Electro Ball and lands a heavy hit onto Duosion. Hector has lost some more of his points.
"Kairi is making a huge comeback with those attacks! And we're over a minute and twenty-five seconds left on the clock!" Diane announced.
"Aerial Ace again!" Kairi ordered. Amolga lands another Aerial Ace onto Duosion as Hector has lost some more of his points.
"It looks like Duosion is having a hard time keeping up with Emolga's speed!" Diane announced. Duosion is panting hard.
"Duosion is getting tired out there. It must be from using Protect. It seems to be taking a lot out of her," Hector said in his thoughts. The clock is now to one minute.
"One minute remaining!" Diane announced.
"Better make this count! Duosion! Psychock!" Hector ordered. Duosion unleashes Psychock right at Emolga.
"Dodge and use Aerial Ace!" Kairi ordered. Emolga avoids Duosion's Psyshock and lands a hit onto Duosion, earning a knockout.
"And Duosion is unable to battle, and Emolga wins! The winner of the Nimbasa City Contest is Kairi!" Diane announced as the crowd starts cheering. Hector went up to Duosion.
"You alright, Duosion?" Hector asked.
"Sion," Duosion responded sadly.
"Don't feel bad about losing; you did your best, and that's what's important, right?" Hector asked. Duosion smiled as Hector calls Duosion back and went up to Kairi with a handshake. "You're even better than I remember, Kairi. You deserved to win."
"Thank you, Hector. I had a great time just as same as you," Kairi said.
"Look at this! What we're seeing is a display of good sportsmanship!" Diane announced.
"I don't believe it. That girl actually pulled it off. I was hoping that she would lose to him," Trip said in his thoughts.
"That Hector is too nice to be a Coordinator. Not one of them deserves to be in it," Beatrice said in her thoughts. Kairi stood with Audino and Emolga. Kairi has retrieved her third Contest Ribbon.
"This concludes the wonderfully fabouls Nimbasa Contest, so we hope to see you all in our next Contest! Take care and be sure to work hard!" DIane annoounced. Kairi has dressed up in here regular clothes as Angel went up to her arms. Angel affectionatley licks her face, making her giggle.
"Thank you, Angel. I'm glad to have your support," Kairi said.
"She's not the only one, Kairi," Sora said, kissing her one the check.
"Thank you, Sora," Kairi siad.
Over to Trip, he has managed to catch up with Elesa.
"You're Elesa, aren't you?" Trip asked.
"Yes, I am. Something I can help you with?" Elesa asked.
"The name's Trip and I came from Nuvema Town. I came here to challenge you into a battle," Trip said. Elesa smiled.
"I see. I shall accept your challenge, but you will have to wait your turn since there are other trainers waiting for their challenges," Elesa said.
"I really don't care who goes first, just as long as it doesn't take forever," Trip said.
A little later, Sora, Palpitoad, Krokorok, and Golett got ready for their battle with Elesa and then headed down to the Gym once preparations were made. Sora spots Riku.
"Riku? When did you get here?" Sora asked.
"Naminé and I have been here since the Contest. So, I thought we thought we come with you to the Gym and watch," Riku said. Sora smiled.
"Figured that's what you would do," Sora said. The group entered the Gym as the place was packed. many of the spectators were fans of Elesa as Trip, Georgia, Burgundy, Stephan, Luke, Hilbert, Cheren, Bianca, Beatrice, and Hector were watching in separate locations.
"Wow, just look at this place," Ventus said.
"Many of these girls are hoping for Sora to lose," Aqua said.
"Well, Sora did come here to challenge her, so it's expected of them to think that," Terra said.
"Now, that's plain dedicated," Meowth said.
Among the spectators is a boy wigh completely black face and large yellow eyes. He wore a large tan pointy hat, a blue jacket, green and white stripy trousers, red and white gloves, and brown boots. It could be that his clothing is thick that his face isn't completely seen.
"The battle between the Gym Leader Elesa and the challenger Sora form Pallet Town is about to begin! Both trainers will be using three Pokémon each! The battle shall be over when all three of either side's Pokémon is unable to continue battling! In addition, only the challenger is allowed to substitute Pokémon! Now, choose and begin!" The referee announced. Both of Sora and Elesa took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Emolga!" Elesa called out. Emolga came on out to battle against Sora.
"Go! Krokorok!" Sora called out. Krokorok came on out to battle against Emolga.
"Sora is going to have a hard time with Emolga since it's a Flying Type as well," Riku noted.
"That's right, so Ground Type moves won't affect her," Kairi said.
"Sora has sent out a Ground Type against me. So, Emolga's Electro Ball won't have any effect. That won't help him out," Elesa said in her thoughts.
"Krokorok! Stone Edge!" Sora ordered. Krokorok sends out stones right at the flying squirrel Pokémon.
"Use Quick Attack to dodge!" Elesa ordered. Emolga avoids Krokorok's Stone Edge. "Now, use Aerial Ace!" Emolga lands a hit onto the desert croc Pokémon. "Now, use Attract!" Emolga uses Attract on Krokorok, making him fall in love with Emolga. Krokorok blows some kisses her way.
"This is bad. Krokorok has fallen for Emolga," Meowth said.
"Unless Sora makes a switch and soon, it's going to be over for Krokorok pretty quick," Ventus said. Sora calls back Krokorok and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Golett!" Sora called out. Golett came on out to battle Emolga.
"That was a good switch on Sora's oart since Golett is a genderless Pokémon," Cilan said.
"That's right, Attract will have no effect," Iris said.
"Golett! Use Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Golett unleashed Shadow Punch and it lands a hit onto Emolga.
"Emolga! Use Aerial Ace!" Elesa ordered. Emolga darts right at Golett, landing a hit. "Aerial Ace again!"
"Golett! Use Mega Punch!" Sora ordered. Emolga darts right towards the golem-like Pokémon. Golett lands a punch onto Emolga as soon as she got close to it. "Now, use Shadow Punch!" Golett lands a Shadow Punch onto Emolga, dealing some damage.
"Sora is making a great comeback!" Ventus said.
"He sure is, Ven! Sora's giving her a run for her money now!" Cilan said.
"Okay, Golett! Use Mega Punch!" Sora ordered. Golett lands a punch onto Emolga, resulting in a knockout.
"Emolga is unable to battle! Golett wins!" The referee announced. Elesa calls back her Emolga.
"Rest up, Emolga. You battled beautifully," Elesa said. Many of her fans were disppointed that she lost in the first round.
"I can't believe that kid just did that to Elesa's Emolga like that!" One of the girls said.
"It's not over yet! She's still in it to win it!" Another girl said. Elesa took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"It's your turn now, Flaaffy!" Elesa called out as her Flaaffy came on out to battle.
"Hey, she's got a Flaaffy!" Ventus said.
"She sure does. I wonder what she has planned for him," Riku said. Sora calls back Golett.
"Take five for right now, Golett. You earned it," Sora said. He took out Krokorok's Pokéball and threw it. "Back to action, Krokorok!" Krokorok came on out to battle against Flaaffy. "Okay, Krokokok! Use Crucnh!" Krokorok ran towards Flaaffy with Crunch, ready to bite Flaaffy.
"Dodge and use Signal Beam!" Elesa ordered. Flaaffy dodges Krokorok's Crunch and fires Signal Beam right at the desert croc Pokémon. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Flaaffy swings its tail and struck Krokorok on the spot.
"Signal Beam is a Bug Type move, and it does heavy damage on a Dark Type like Krokorok," Riku said.
"And that Iron Tail just gave it extra flavor," Cilan added.
"Sora will have to come up something fast," Kairi said.
"Krokorok! Dig!" Sora ordered. Krokorok dug through the ground to avoid anymore surprises from Flaaffy's attacks.
"Be ready to strike once Krokorok comes on out," Elesa said. Flaaffy waited for the desert croc Pokémon to emerge from the earth. Once Krokorok came right out. He started to head for the wool Pokémon. "Iron Tail!" Flaaffy swings its tail right at Krokorok hard. "Now, use Signal Beam!" Flaaffy fires Signal Beam and it struck Krokorok hard, earning a knockout.
"Krokorok is unable to battle! Flaaffy wins!" The referee annunced. Elesa's fans all cheered hard for Flaaffy for her comeback. Sora calls back Krokorok.
"Rest up, Krokorok. You did great," Sora said. Sora took out Golett's Pokéball and threw it. "Back to action, Golett!" Golett came back oout to battle.
"Flaaffy! Iron Tail!" Elesa ordered. Flaaffy came right at Golett with Iron Tail.
"Golett! Dodge and use Mud-Slap!" Sora ordered. Golett hurls Mud-Slap right at the sheep-like Pokémon, covering it with mud. "Now, use Shadow Punch!" Golett unleashed Shadow Punch and lands a hit onto Flaaffy, sending it against a wall. Flaaffy has been taken down.
"Flaaffy is unable to battle! Golett wins!" The referee announced.
"Way to go Sora and Golett!" Ventus said.
"All that training has paid off," Terra said.
"It sure has. Now Elesa is down to her last Pokémon," Cilan said. Elesa calls Flaaffy.
"Have yourself a good long rest. You have earned it," Elesa said. She took out one more Pokéball and prepared to throw it. "And now it is up to you, Zebstrika!" Her Zebstrike came out with a loud whinny as it glares right at Golett.
"Man, I knew she was going to use that Zebstrika. I'll have to take it down hard. Golett! use Mud-Slap!" Sora ordered.
"Zebstrika! Use Flame Charge to dodge!" Elesa ordered. Zebstrika charges right at Golett, while dodging Golett's Mud-Slap. Golett barely stand back up on its feet. "Flame Charge again!" Zebstrika charged right at Golett again and it was enough to land the finishing blow onto Golett.
"Golett is unable to battle! Zebstrika wins!" The referee announced.
"Now both are down to one left," Iris said. Sora calls back Golett and smiled.
"You did great, Golett. I won't let your hard work be wasted," Sora said. He took out his third Pokéball and threw it. "Your turn now, Palpitoad!" Palpitoad came on out to battle Zebstrika.
"This is it. All or nothing," Meowth said.
"Sora can't afford to lose this battle," Terra said.
"Okay, Palpitoad! Use Mud Shot!" Sora ordered. Palpitoad fires Mud Shot right at the zebra-like Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Flame Charge!" Elesa ordered. Zebstrika charges right at Palpitoad with Flame Charge. Zebstrika lands a hit as Palpitad goes flying. He gets back up.
"Toad!" Palpitoad said.
"Palpitoad is a Water Type, so Fire Type moves don't have that much effect on a Water Type," Iris pointed out.
"That's true, Iris, but you got to remember that Flame Charge can increase the user's speed from each use," Riku said.
"So, Sora knows he won't find it easy," Terra said.
"Flame Charge, one more time!" Elesa ordered. Zebstrika ran towards Palpitoad with Flame Charge. It lands a hit onto the toad-like Pokémon.
"Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Palpitoad fires Hydro Pump right at the zebra-like Pokémon. Zebstrika dodges with its great speed.
"Use Double Kick!" Elesa ordered.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Palpitoad attempts to dodge, only to end up being kicked twice due to Zebstrika's increased speed. "Palpitoad!"
"Double Kick once more!" Elesa ordered.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out.
Zebstrika lands two more kicks onto Palpitoad. The vibration Pokémon fell on his back and gets back up. Palpitoad has taken some sum of damage.
"It looks like I dazzled Palpitad. I know Palpitoad is a tough and resilient Pokémon, but how tough in that state?" Elesa asked. Sora grolwed to himself.
"Come on, Sora, you need to get your head in the game. I have to put an end to this and now," Sora said.
"And now it's time for the final act! Quick Attack!" Elesa ordered. Zebstrika dashed right at Palpitoad and lands another hit. Palpitoad, but he wasn't out.
"Get up, Palpitoad! I know you can do it! If you were tough enough to take me on back at the lake, I know you're tough enoough to take on that Zebstrika!" Sora said. Palpitoad gets back up on his feet. Elesa was amazed by how Palpitoad was able to get back up after taking all that damage. "Great! Supersonic!" Palpitoad unleashed Supersonic and it confuses Zebstrika.
"Zebstrika, no!" Elesa gasped.
"Supersonic's a hit!" Iris said.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"Now, Sora has has to do is wrap this up!" Riku said.
"Eevee!" Eevee said.
"Palpitad! Mud Shot!" Sora ordered. Palpitoad fires Mud Shot right at thunderbolt Pokémon, covering it with mud. "Now, wrap it up with Hydro Pump!" Palpitoad fires Hydro Pump right at Zebstrika and sends it right against the wall, earning a knockout.
"Zebstrika is unable to battle! Palpitoad wins! The victory goes to the challenger, Sora!" The referee announced. Elesa calls back Zebstrika and smiled.
"Our defeat was not your fault, Zebstrika. I am very proud of you. You were just as dazzling as ever," Elesa said. She walked up to Sora. "Sora, I must say that you are a dazzling trainer. And such, I mus congratulate you for this victory, so I present to you the Bolt Badge." Elesa takes out a badge that is shaped like a lightning bolt or a Pikachu or Emolga tail, with an orange crown sticking out of the tip. Sora takes his Gym Badge.
"And this makes five," Sora said.
"And while you're here, I recommend that you take part of the Club Battle taking place in a few days," Elesa said.
"The Battle Club is a tournament held in Nimbasa City every year, and with power like yours, you would be a shoo-in," Elesa said.
"I think I'll give it a shot," Sora said.
With that said, Sora now has five Gym Badges in Unova. With the Contest and Gym Battle settled, Sora is thinking of competing in the Battle Club tournament taking place. And this is where we will pause our story... for now.
