Episode 446: Nimbasa Club Battle Tournament Round 2
Where we last left off, sixteen trainers has entered the Nimbasa Club Battle Tournament and only eight has made it through. Sora, Riku, Hilbert, Cilan, Georgia, Stephan, Luke, and Hugh has made it through the second round. THe selections were about to be made between the eight remaining trainers.
"It's too bad that I don't get to battle you after all, but I'm going to set my sights on Sora since he beat you yesterday," Georgia said.
"Yeah, but I'm actually loooking forward in seeing Sora whoop you again," Iris said.
"Oh, you would love that, wouldn't you? Well, that's not going to happen in the slightest! A good Dragon Buster will never admit defeat," Georgia said.
"Like you didn't admit deafeat when Sora kicked your Dragon Busting butt," Iris taunted. Georgia scowled.
"That was because Sora got lucky and that's that," Georgia said.
"No, it's because he's better than you are," Iris said. The both of them stared at each other with lightning coming between them.
"If I were you, Georgia, I would save that talk for the battlefield, because that's where it belongs," Riku stated.
"Whatever. I don't even care who I end up against, I'll beat the pants off one of you!" Georgia said, heading for the stadium.
The tournament resumes as Freddy O'Martian steps in.
"And now, day two of the Club Battle Tournament has begun! So, look up on the big screen for our second round matchup!" Freddy O'Martian announced as the screen displays who will be against who. Georgia will be up against Riku, Hilbert will be against Hugh, Cilan will be against Luke, Sora will be against Stephan. The first battle of the second round begins as Riku and Georgia gets into posiotion. "Ladies and gentlemen, the much anticipated first battle of round 2 will be Georgia versus Riku!" Both trainers stare at each other.
"Ready? Begin!" The referee announced. Riku looked over to Eevee.
"You're in, Eevee!" Riku said. Eevee enters the battlefiled, ready to go.
"Pawniard! Battle time!" Georgia called out, taking out a Pokéball and threw it.
"It will be intewrsting to see Riku and Eevee's battle strategy for Pawniard's skill and close range fighting!" Don Geoge said.
"So, find who will be moving on in the semi-finals Georgia or Riku!" Freddy O'Martian annoucned.
"Riku, that's who!" Naminé said.
"Azu, Azu!" Azurill added.
"Eevee! Swift!" Riku ordered. Eevee fires Swift right at right at the sharp blade Pokémon.
"Pawniard! Metal Claw!" Georgia ordered. Pawniard slashes at Eevee's Swift with Metal Claw.
"Pawniard slashes up Eevee's Swift with stoic strength with a real impressive display!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Try this! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered.
"Dodge and get close!" Georgia ordered. Pawniard dodges and gets close to Eevee. "Now, use Metal Claw!" Pawniard slashes at Eevee with Metal Claw. Eevee goes down.
"Eevee's Shadow Ball is neutralized! The battle has only just begun!" Freddy O' Martian announced.
"Georgia has taken quick control of the match! How is Riku going to turn the tide?" Luke asked.
"Riku isn't going to be easy to be beaten. That's something Georgia is going to find out the hard way," Sora said. Eevee gets back up on his feet.
"Pawniard! Keep attacking and don't let up!" Georgia ordered. Pawniard came right towards Eevee.
"Dig!" Riku ordered. Eevee dug into the earth to avoid Pawniard's frontal assault. Pawniard looks around.
"You'll never win the battle just by running away!" Georgia said. Riku grinned at the arrogant Dragon Buster.
"Who said I'm running?" Riku asked. Eevee came out quick and lands a hit with Dig.
"Riku begins to make a comeback witht he use of Dig! That was a super-effective hit!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Good work, Eevee!" Riku said. "Shadow Ball!" Eevee fires Shadow Ball and it lands a hit onto the sharp blade Pokémon.
"Eevee's Shadow Ball lands a heavy blow onto Pawniard!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"One more Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fires Shadow Ball right at Pawniard.
"Get up and win this!" Georgia called out. Pawniard gets back up. "Counter that!" Pawniard slahes though Shadow Ball with Iron Head.
"And a very resourceful Pawniard gets through that Shadow Ball!" Freddy O'Martian annoucned.
"Well, you put up quite a fight, but it's all over. Use Guillotine and wrap this up!" Georgia ordered. Pawniard comes right at Eevee.
"Hurry and use Dig!" Riku ordered. Eevee dug into the ground as Pawniard misses its mark.
"That was close," Ventus said.
"Guillotine can take out an opponent with just as single hit!" Aqua said.
"She really wants to end this fast," Kairi said.
"Riku isn't afraid of that," Naminé said.
"Eevee will come out at any moment! When you see it, use Guillotine!" Georgia ordered. Pawniard nodded and waited for the evolution Pokémon to come on out. Pawniard got ready to use Guillotine on Eevee; Riku wasn't too worried. Eevee poppped out. Pawniard moved fast, but Eevee moved faster and lands a hit onto Pawniard.
"Oh no!" Georgia gasped.
"Oh yes!" Riku said.
Pawniard got its claws stuck in the ground.
"Oh my!" Luke and Bianca said.
"Pawniard's claws appear to have gotten firmly stuck in the ground!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Who could have predicted this would happen?" Don George asked.
"Let's wrap this up! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fires Shadow Ball and it lands a heavy blow onto Pawniard, making it fall on its stomach. Pawniard was defeated.
"Pawniard is unable to battle! Eevee wins! The winner of the match is Riku!" The referee announced. Eevee went up to his partner as Riku pets him on the head.
"Great job as always, Eevee," Riku said.
"Vee," Eevee said.
"Pawniard's power sure looked like it was going to make all the difference here, but things can change," Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Hm. You think things will zing; but in the blink of an eye, they can zag!" Don George said.
"And so, Riku becomes our very first competitor to enter the semi-finals!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Either one of them could have won that," Stephan said.
"Nope. Riku had this in the bag from the start. Georgia never sttod a chance against him," Sora said.
"But either way, it was a delicious battle between two gallant warriors sparring back and forth, making my spirit tremble with a combination of flavors from subtle to red hot and spicy!" Cilan said. He went up to Stephan. "Stephen, was it the same for you?"
"No one ever pronounces my name right," Stephan groaned.
Georgia puffed up her cheeks, feeling angered by her defeat by Riku's hands. She calls her Pawniard back inside.
"Pawniard, return," Georgia said. She turned to Riku. "Hey, Riku, was it? The only reason you won because the field was bad. You should thank the field not me."
"I wasn't even thanking you for anything," Riku stated. Iris chuckled.
"Anyone who actually blames thier loss on the field is such a kid," Iris said.
"HEY, I HEARD THAT!" Georgia yelled.
"Good hearing," Iris said.
"But who cares? That battle didn't count anyway," Georgia said.
"Didn't count?" Iris asked.
"Of course not. I didn't lose to a Dragon Type, did I?" Georgia asked.
"That's a lame excuse!" Iris said. Iris and Georgia stare into each other again with lightning coming at each other.
"Those two have been ripping up at each other all day; it's getting pretty old," Stephan said.
"I wouldn't think too much about it," Hugh said.
"Don George, that was ascorcher of a battle, right out of the gate!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Right! That's because exciting battles is what it's all about!" Don George said.
"Very well-spoken! And now, it's time for our second battle! It's Hilbert versus Hugh!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
A few minutes later, Hilbert and Hugh both got ready to go.
"Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee said.
"Go! Fraxure!" Hugh called out. Fraxure came out with a swirl of stars.
"Go! Tranquill!" Hilbert called out. Tranquill came on out to battle.
"Hilbert has sent out Tranquill as Hugh has sent out Fraxure!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Tranquill! Start things up with Air Cutter!" Hilbert ordered. Tranquill fires Air Cutter right at the axe jaw Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Dragon Rage!" Hugh ordered. Fraxure avoids Tranquill's Air Cutter and fires Dragon Rage right at the wild pigeon Pokémon. Dragon Rage lands a successful hit. "Now, use Slash!" Fraxure slashes at Tranquill, taking it down.
"Tranquill is unable to battle! Fraxure wins!" The referee announced.
"Fraxure has taken down Tranquill without a problem! Hugh is now second to move on into the semi-finals! We will have a short recess before we proceed with the remaining two battles!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Hilbert and Hugh walked up to each other and shook hands.
"Congrats on your win, Hugh," Hilbert said.
"Thanks, Hilbert," Hugh said.
Riku feeds the Pokémon food that Cilan has whipped up for Eevee.
"You didn't have to do that for me, Cilan," Riku said.
"I insist. The food that I have provided with is specially made for Normal Type Pokémon. The Pokémon food made for Eevee is mixed in with a variety of different fruits," Cilan said. BUrgundy stepped in.
"Dommage! Forced to eat food made a Connisuer with no taste at all has to be the saddest thing I have ever seen!" Burgundy said. "My poor petite Eevee!" Eevee fires Shadow Ball right into Burgundy. Riku sighed.
"And I thought I thought Team Rocket were annoying," Riku said.
"Eevee seems to enjoy it. Any chance of you giving me the recipe?" Stephan asked.
"Of course, Stephen," Cilan said. Stephan hangs his head.
"Even the Conniseur gets it wrong," Stephan goraned.
After the break...
"If everyone will now return back to your seats, the next battle is about to begin!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I guess our turn has fonally arrived. Ready?" Cilan asked.
"I think so, Cilan," Luke said. He turned to Hilbert. "Say, Hilbert, would you hold my camera for me? I would like to keep it rolling."
"Um, sure," Hilbert said. He takes the camera.
"Alright, let's get started with our third battle which is Cilan versus Luke!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I hope you go easy," Cilan said.
"Okay, I'm facing a Gym Leader. I don't feel good," Luke said.
"Just relax, Luke. It's just like shooting a movie. First you imagine your finished product, and then you make your plan," Cilan said.
"Right. For me, I always imagine how my battle is going to turn out first. I think of what moves I can use the would best allow my Pokémon to battle well. And then I imagine how it will end; and what reward I will give to my Pokémon! Things like that," Cilan said.
"You imagine all that?" Luke asked, surprised.
"Arrogant dork!" Burgundy scoffed.
"Imagine the moment whe your Pokémon tastes victory; savor every moment of battle!" Cilan said, holding out a Pokéball. Luke does the same thing. He nods.
"Yeah! I'll do it!" Luke said.
"Don, do you think it was wise of him to give his opponent some battling advice?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"It probably has something to do with Cilan being a Gym Leader," Don George said.
"Begin!" The referee shouted. Cilan threw his Pokéball.
"Presenting, my powerful Amoongus!" Cilan called out. Amoongus came on out to battle.
"Another one we don't know about?" Sora asked.
"And here's the star of my show, Larvesta!" Luke called out. Larvesta came on out to battle.
"And that would be Luke's third one," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Luke has the advantage since Larvesta is a Bug and Fire Type Pokémon. How will Cilan turn this around?" Sora asked in his thoughts. Flames emerge from Larvesta's five horns.
"Larvesta has a real strong flame. I use it for all the special effects in all the movies I made," Luke said.
"But this is a battle! It won't be as easy as that!" Cilan said, adjusting his bow tie. "And now, it's evaluating time!"
"Cilan opens up with a powerful statement! It's evaluating time!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Here we go," Iris deadpanned.
"He sure looks like he's having fun," Stephan said.
"That's just how Cilan does things," Sora said. Burgundy moved in as Riku glared at her.
"Don't even think about saying anything!" Riku said. Burgundy backed off.
"Silver-haired uncouth Ogre," Burgundy scolwed to herself.
"Heard that!" Riku said.
"It's time for Amoongus's latest move! The flavorful, Gastro Acid!" Cilan proclaimed. Amoongus spits up a large drop of fluorescent green acid at the torch Pokémon.
"Cilan is making good use of Amoongus's Gastro Acid to cancel out Larvensta's Flame Body ability! And since it's a one-on-one battle, Amoongus isn't going anywhere until the battle's over!" Don George announced.
"Your turn, Larvesta! Strong Shot! Action!" Luke ordered. Larvesta wraps up the mushroom Pokémon with Strong Shot.
"Not a good taste! Use Energy Ball!" Cilan ordered. Amoongus fires Energy Ball right at the torch Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Bug Buzz!" Luke ordered. Larvesta dodges Energy Ball and fires Bug Buzz and lands a hit on the mushroom Pokémon. "Yes! Good job! Now, wrap this scene up with Flamethrower!" Larvesta fires Flamethrower.
"I'll take some of that flame!" Cilan said. Amoongus just took the flames just to everyone's surprise.
"Amoongus takes the hit of Larvesta's Flamethrower! Coud this be the end of the road for Cilan?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Amoongus emerged from the flames with the silk burnt off. Luke and Larvesta were both surprised to see Amoongus was unharmed.
"Did you like that? I used your Flamethrower to burn off your String Shot! And it worked because I imagined it would!" Cilan said.
"Cilan's awesome!" Iris said.
"I can see why he's a Gym Leader," Riku said.
"Oh please," Burgundy scoffed.
"Luke had the momentum, but Cilan has quickly moved it into his favor," Stephan said.
"I guess. The combinations of Bug Types and Fire Types is something to consider," Georgia said.
"Wow, Cilan had the disadvantage for a moment and he used it in his favor," Ventus said.
"The Gym Leader's job is to make it difficult in a Gym battle," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"All Cilan has to do is win this," Terra said.
"I guess it's not as easy as I thought," Luke said.
"Sometimes, making one mistake can have some lasting results," Cilan stated. "Although we battled briefly, I had a chance to evaluate your Pokémon. Your Larvesta is beautiful, and quite mellow with the fierceness of a Fire Type, combined the subtly of a Bug Type. And judging on its ability to stand its ground after taking a hit from Gastro Acid, I can sense its formidable strength, tempered by its time working on a movie set! A recipe that anyone can love!" Luke rubbed the back of his head as Larvesta beamed.
"Wow, you're embrassing me with all of those nice words, Cilan," Luke said. Cilan snapped his fingers.
"However," Cilan said.
"However? Now what?" Luke asked.
"However, taking into account, the way Larvesta dodged out Energy Ball, I recieved a limited view of the battlefield," Cilan evaluated.
"Larvesta hasn't evolved yet, so what did you expect?" Luke asked.
"Now, now, Luke. A great trainer would have imagined their Pokémon in a variety of settings, and made sure they can handle every one of them. And that's what we do in Gym battles, so we're ready for anyone who comes to us with evaluating time!" Cilan said. "Now, Amoongus! Jump in the air!" Amoongus jumps right up in the air.
"Oh no!" Luke gasped.
"You see, one good strategy is to keep your opponents off balanced by doing the unexpected deed! My Amoongus can jump high and come on down with great power and strength!" Cilan said. "Now, use Poison Powder!" Amoongus unleashed Poison Powder.
"Quick Larvesta! Use String Shot on yourself!" Luke ordered. Larvesta unleashed Strong Shot and wrapped itself up like a cocoon. Everyone was surprised by what they were seeing.
"No way!" Kairi, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and Meowth all said. The Poison Powder hits, but it does nothing to get through the strings.
"Larvesta's encased itself in a String Shot coocon, in which protected itself from what would have been a bad poisoning!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Yes!" Luke cheered.
"That was very good! Amoongus! Use Sludge Bomb!" Cilan ordered. Amoongus jumps again and fires Sludge Bomb right at Larvesta. The cocoon goes flying up. Larvesta bursts out with all five of its harms erupting in fire.
"And Larvesta is airborne, using that explosion to make a super jump! It looks like shoe is on the other foot!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Who would have guessed?!" Cilan exclaimed, surprised.
"Now, it's our turn imagine! Larvesta! Use Flamethrower!" Luke ordered. Larvesta fires Flamethrower and it struck the mushroom Pokémon, engulfing it into flames. Larvesta has been taken down.
"Oh no! Amoongus!" Cilan gasped.
"Amoongus is unable to battle! Larvesta wins! The winner of the battle is Luke!" The referee announced as the corwd cheered. Luke pets Larvesta.
"We did it, Larvesta!" Luke said. Cilan took out Amoongus's Pokéball.
"You battled well, Amoongus. Have yourself a good rest," Cilans said, calling Ammongus back. Cilan and Luke walked up to each other. "Say Luke, that was an intriguing battle."
"It sure was, thanks to you. You helped me imagine what's it's like to have a Gym battle," Luke said. Cilan scratches his cheek with one finger.
"Yes, I guess I did. And that's due to my bad habit of forcing challengers into showing me the best they can do. But you won fair and square," Cilan said, shaking his hand. "Best of luck in the semi-finals."
"Thanks. Honestly, I never thought I would make it to the semi-finals," Luke said.
"What a great battle," Hilbert said.
"Sure was," Stephan agreed.
"You both did great," Riku said.
"Oui, although Cilan has lost. He's always talking about evaluating challengers N'est-ce Pas. It doesn't matter how nicley it wins, because a loss is a loss!" Burgundy said. She chuckles to herself.
"You're as nice as they come," Georgia sarcastically said.
"That was great, you guys," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora," Luke said, turning to Hilbert. "Did you get it all on tape? My big victory?"
"Every bit of it," Hilbert said, handing it to Luke.
"I'm so psyche after seeing that!" Stephan said.
"Yeah, you and I are up next," Sora said.
"Oh yeah! It's time to wail!" Stephan exclaimed, getting on the battlefield.
"Hold on! We haven't been called yet! Oh, nuts to this!" Sora said, getting on the battlefield as well.
"Folks now that the exciting third match is history, it's time for our-" Freddy O'Martian was cut off.
"Wait a minute! It looks like the trainers has already come out onto the field!" Don George said.
"Then I suggest we get on with it! For our fourth match, it's Sora and he's battling Steven!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Even that announcer can't get it right," Stephan said.
"I wonder what Pokémon Stephen is going to send out," Ventus said.
"I think we're about to find out," Aqua said.
"Give it all you've got, Sora!" Kairi rooted for her boyfriend.
"Eevee!" Angel added.
"Ready, set, begin!" The referee called out. Sora and Stephan each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Oshawott!" Sora called out as Oshawott came out to battle.
"Okay, you're up, Sawk! Let's go!" Stephan called out. Sawk came out, sitting on his knees.
"Okay, Oshawott, I know you can do it, so give it all you've got," Sora said.
"Osha!" Oshawott said.
"You done with your battling strategy?" Stephan asked.
"Ready for anything I you can throw at me, Stephan!" Sora said. He sighed with relief.
"At least he gets my name right," Stephan said. "And just so you know, I'm not going to stand down just because you're a Pokémon League Champion!"
"I know you won't! Oshawott! Water Gun!" Sora ordered. Oshawott fires Water Gun right at the karate Pokémon.
"Sawk! Use Close Combat!" Stephan ordered. Sawk repeatedly attacks the water with a lightning fast barrage of open-handed strikes with both of his hands. Water Gun bounces right off. Sora was dumbfounded by what he was seeing.
"Oshawott's Water Gun has been blocked by Sawk's Close Combat!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"How did he do that?" Sora asked.
"Sawk aren't called the Karate Pokémon for nothing! Sawk are known to go through super-intensive training every day to be ready for anything!" Stephan said.
"What are your comments on that, Don George?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"It looks like it's a real manly battle!" Don George commented.
"Somehow, I can hear Elfman saying that," Kairi said in her thoughts. She remembered how strong and powerful looking Elfman is. She couldn't understand how anything Sora or Kairi would do is considered to be manly. "Speaking of Elfman, I am wondering how everyone else in Fairy Tail is doing nowadays."
"Bulk Up!" Stephan ordered. Sawk builds up his muscles, building up both of his attack and defense power.
"Oshawott! Razor Shell!" Sora ordered. Oshawott grabs his Razor Shell and came right at Sawk.
"Dodge and use Double Kick!" Stephan ordered. Sawk avoids Oshawott's Razor Shell.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Oshawott dodges Sawk's fisrt kick, but hit by the second kick.
"Osshawott! Hang in there!" Kairi called out.
"Sawk are known for hard battling. The same can be said for Throh," Aqua said.
"Oshawott! Razor Shell again!" Sora ordered. Oshawott swings his scalchop right at Sawk and lands a hit. Sawk braces himself and it does little damage. "How did you like that move?"
"That was awesome, no doubt!" Stephan said.
"Oshawott! Sacred Sword!" Sora ordered. Oshawott comes right at Sawk with Sacred Sword.
"Use Close Combat!" Stephan ordered. Sawk lands some hits on the sea otter Pokémon. "Yeah!" Oshawott gets back up and started to evolve. Everyone watching were amazed by Osahwott's sudden evolution. Oshawott has now become a Dewott!"
"Dewott!" Dewott yelled yout to the heavens.
"Oshawott has evolved into a Dewott!" Cilan said.
"I wasn't expecting that to happen!" Hilbert said.
"Talk about lucky!" Georgia said.
"That means, he's even stronger than ever" Riku said.
"Eevee!" Eevee said.
"Talk about an expected chain of events! Oshawott has evolved into a Dewott!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"The battle must have become so intense, and it has taken some loads of damage from Sawk's attacks, it caused Sora's Oshawott to become a Dewott," Don George said.
"Evolved or not, it's going to lose! Use Double Kick!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moves in to deliever a hit onto Dewott. Sawk lands a couple of kicks onto Dewott.
"Dewott! Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Dewott darts right towards Sawk with Aqua Jet.
"What a waste of time! Close Combat!" Stephan ordered. Sawk prepared to use Close Combat, but Sawk got hit by Dewott's Aqua Jet pretty fast.
"Wow! Did you see that, Don George?!" Freddy O'Martian exclaimed.
"I sure have! Dewott's Aqua Jet has come out both fast and strong! Even Sawk was no match for that assault!" Don George said.
"That was awesome! Dewott has moved much faster than it would have as an Oshawott!" Stephan said.
"Now, use Sacred Sword!" Sora ordered. Dewott takes his scalchops and uses them to swing at Sawk, hitting him hard with Sacred Sword. It was enough to bring Sawk down.
"Sawk is unable to battle! Dewott wins! The winner of the battle is Sora!" The referee announced.
"That was awesome, Dewott! I didn't expect you to evolve, but you came through for me when it mattered!" Sora said.
"Wott," Dewott said, smiling.
"A delectable victory for Sora! And Oshawott's sudden evolution has given his victory with extra flavor!" Cilan said.
"I expect nothing from you, Sora," Riku said. Georgia and Burgundy looked right at him.
"How could you be so proud of him for winning?" Goergia asked.
"Sora always gave it his all. I knew when I first battled him. I'm more than his rival. I'm his friend," Riku said.
"Vee," Eevee said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Stephan calls Sawk back and walked up to Sora.
"Congratulations on your win, Sora," Stephan said. "Win the semis for me."
"I'll try, Stephan," Sora said.
"And now that all four battles in the second round has concluded, here are the matchups for the next battles taking place! So, take a look on the big screen for our matchups!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Riku is facing Hugh, and Sora is facing Luke.
"And the winners of these two battles will be moving on to the exciting final Club Battle match!" Don George announced.
Now that the second round of the Nimasa Club Battle Tournament has concluded, only one of these four trainers will be moving on in the final round of the tournament, but which one will it be? Just wait and see if you wanna find out. And be sure to favorite, follow, and leave a review!
