Episode 453: Sora's Sister

It was a just a little while after Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Axew has left. A girl that has a trong resemblence to Delia came into the Pokémon Center. She approached Nurse Joy at the counter. The girl wore a white blouse with a pair of jean shorts. She wore green sneakers, white socks.

"Excuse me, but has a boy with a Pikachu come by here recently?" The girl asked.

"Yes they have. In fact you just missed them," Nurse Joy said. "But why do you ask?"

"No reason," the girl said. Just then, Brier approached the girl.

"Hey, this boy you're looking for, the one with the Pikachu. Does he have spiky hair?" Brier asked.

"Yes. I was told that he was here somewhere, so do you know where he's heading?" The girl asked.

"The only nearest place here in miles is Driftveil City. You can't miss it," Brier said.

"Thank you," the girl said. She took her leave and stepped out. She took out a photo of Delia and her late husband on their wedding day.

"If I can't ask the woman in this picture, but I can ask the boy in it," the girl said. "There is something I really want to know once and for all."

(Flashback)

We go back a short time after Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Delia, Kairi's family, and Professor Oak has arrived in the Unova region. We see the girl in Nuvema Town and she took out the same photo and she sees the woman in the photo.

"It's her," the girl said. She sees Sora with her. "Who is that with her?" She freezes in her tracks. "Could it be possible that I have a twin brother?"

She went on to her home and she lived with her adoptive parents. She told them who she saw.

"You sure that the woman in the photo is the same one you saw before, Karen?" Her adoptive father asked.

"There's no denying it. In my heart I know that she is my real mother," Karen said.

"Are you sure you want to speak with her?" Karen's adoptive mother asked.

"But honey, aren't you happy with us, after we told you the truth?" Karen's adoptive father asked.

"I am happy here with you, and I'm grateful for everything you did for me, but I need the answers only she and the boy with her has. In my heart, you will always be my parents; especially after you saved me from that awful orphanage. But you don't have the answers I need," Karen said.

"We understand, Karen," Karen's adoptive mother said. "If it means the world to you, then you can go and see for yourself. Just don't get your hopes up too high." Karen nodded. She left the house and approached the lab.

"Excuse me, Professor Juniper," Karen said.

"Oh, Karen, what a pleasant surprise. If you're here to choose your first Pokémon, I'm afraid you will have to wait until I have s Snivy, a Tepig, and an Oshawott to give away.

"No, I'm here for that. The reason I'm here is because a woman came by here. She looked a lot like me, so I was wondering if she is still here," Karen said. Professor Juniper tilted her head.

"A woman who looks like you," Professor Juniper said. "You know something I thought there was something familiar about her. I just couldn't quite put my finger on it."

"Is she still here?" Karen asked.

Professor Juniper shook her head, "I'm afraid you missed her just a little while ago. She went on home to Kanto along with Professor Oak."

"Then, is her son still here as well?" Karen asked.

"No, they left a short time ago. They're heading on towards Striaton City," Professor Juniper said. "If you want, I could make contact with him through his Xtransceiver."

"No. I think it's better that I get to him myself," Karen said.

"If that's what you want, then I can respect that. But the journey is going to be difficult without a Pokémon to aide you," Professor Juniper said.

"I think I can manage," Karen said. She took off. The first stop she made was at home. She explained to her adoptive parents that she is heading off to meet with someone who is her twin brother.

"Are you sure you still want to do this?" Karen's adoptive father asked.

"I'm sure. This is something I have to do. I need to know the truth once and for all," Karen said.

"We understand, honey. Just be careful on your way," Karen's adoptive father said.

"Just be careful while you're out there," Karen's adoptive mother said in tears.

"And don't forget to call us every now and then," Karen's adoptive father said in tears as well.

"I promise," Karen said, giving them a hug. She broke the hug.

"In case you get hungry, I packed you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for you. And I cut off the crusts just like you like it," Karen's adoptive mother said. Karen took one last look at her aoptive parents and took off. Karen has made her way to find Sora.

She traveled through the Unova region, follwing their trail from city after city, town after town. She had to admit, she got lost a few times, but she manages to get out of this pickle. There were some people who said that they met him and pointed her in the right direction.

(Flashback ends)

She continues to follow them to Driftveil City.

"At long last, I can finally meet you for real!" Karen said.

A little bit further, Sora has come across a Karrablast and Shelmet. Sora decided that he should catch the both of them. Karrablast and Shelmet clashed into each other. Shelmet uses Protect to block Karrablast's X-Scissor. Sora could have sowrn he as seen a sprk between the two of them. Sora turned to Pikachu.

"Okay, Pikachu! Go!" Sora said.

"Pika!" Pikachu nodded.

Pikachu approaches the both of them as Karrablast and Shelmet turned to the mouse Pokémon. They forget about each other for now. Karrablast and Shelmet starts up with Bug Buzz.

"Dodge it, Pikachu!" Sora called out. Pikachu avoids their Bug Buzz. "Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt right the two Bug Type Pokémon. Shelmet uses Protect, but Karrablast got hit by Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Karrablast came back with a vengeance with Slash as Shelmet attacks with Body Slam. They both landed a hit onto Pikachu. "Iron Tail on Shelmet!" Pikachu swings his tail right at the snail Pokémon. Shelmet is struck by Iron Tail and lands right into Karrablast. Sora took out two Pokéballs and threw them. They both flowed inside and the Pokéballs wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around them to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Karrablast and Shelmet with him. He chose to keep them both by exchange for Frillish and Pignite. "There. Two catches in one day." He turned to see Kairi standing there with a smile. "Been there long?"

"Yeah. Didn't want to distract you. I came to fetch you. Lunch is ready," Kairi said. "I prepared that special stew for you." Sora always loved that stew Kairi makes. He went to Kairi and he gave her a kiss on the cheek, making her giggle.

"Oh you," Kairi said. She giggled again when Sora was kissing her. Pikachu nuzzled Angel in synchronization to Sora and Kairi's kisses. The couple joins their friends for their meal. Pikachu, Angel, Servine, Dewott, Cubchoo, Karrablast, Shelmet, Emolga, Watchog, Munna, Tranquill, and Frillish were enjoying the meal they were eating. Sparks were literally going between them, and they were giving off some light glows.

"Tasty as walways, Kairi," Sora said.

"I made it just as you like it," Kairi said.

"This is great, Kairi. It's no wonder Sora loves it so much," Iris said.

"I agree. Your grandmother has taught you well," Cilan complimented.

"There's seonds if anyone wants seconds," Kairi said.

Just when they were about to clean everything up, Karen approached the group. She looked directly right at Sora.

"Um, is there something we can help you with?" Sora asked.

"It's you," Karen said. She went right up to Sora. "I finally caught up with you!" She started to embrace Sora. Kairi was puffing her cheeks in jealousy.

"Excuse you, but why are you hugging my boyfriend like he's a stuffed animal?" Kairi asked, taking her boyfriend back.

"But more importantly, who are you?" Terra asked.

"Sorry. It's just I wanted to meet you for real from the day I first saw you in Nuvema Town. My name is Karen. And the thing is that I-" Karen said before Kairi cut her off.

"You're what? You're in love with Sora? He's spoken for, sister!" Kairi said.

"That's just the thing! I might be his sister!" Karen said. Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, and the Pokémon all were dumbfounded by the claim.

"You're my wha?!" Sora exclaimed in shock and confusion.

"You're his wha?!" Kairi, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua also exclaimed.

"I didn't know you had a sister, Sora," Iris said.

"I don't. I mean, I think don't. What the hell is going on?! Somebody please tell me that this is some kind of a joke!" Sora said.

"If it was, then we will be rolling with laughter like Ed from the Lion King," Meowth said. Karen looked right at Meowth.

"Oh my gosh! A talking Meowth! Oh, it's so adorable! I never seen a Meowth before, but now I have! And it's a talking Meowth! You're jst ever so cute!" Karen said, starting to hug Meowth.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Meowth yelped.

"Look, Karen, was it? I don't know what to tell you, but I don't have a sister! My mom never told me about this! In fact she has never gone out with any guy even after my dad died!" Sora said. Karen was surprsied to hear that what would be real father is dead.

"What?" Karen asked in shock. "Our father is dead?" Tears ran down her face.

"She never gone out on a date with any other guy?" Iris asked.

"No. It's because she has been loyal to my dad even after he died," Sora said. "Anyway, I'm not even sure if you are my sister! Just what gave you that idea?"

"Well, two things. One, I have been having dreams about my birth. I was having them for a long time and well, the thing is, I saw that there was another baby beside me. And then, I was sent somewhere else. I was placed in an orphanage in Kanto until I was six months old, so I was adopted, and I moved to Nuvema Town. And it was just not too long ago that I was told the truth about my birth. I was upset when I was told the truth about it, but I accepted it eventually. But I wanted to know who I am and where I came from," Karen explained.

"Wasn't there a second thing?" Sora asked.

"Yes. I had this old photo," Karen said, handing it to Sora. He looked right at it and he was shocked to see it. Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, and Iris all saw it.

"Is that what I think it is?" Terra asked.

"It is. It's my parents on their wedding," Sora said.

"Wow, your mom is pretty. And your dad is so handsome," Iris said, blushing.

"Tell me, do you know the name of the man and woman in the picture?" Karen asked.

"My mom's name is Delia. And my dad's name is Katio. My necklace's last owner," Sora said, placing his hand on his necklace.

"Delia. I knew I heard that name before. I have been hearing that in my dreams," Karen said. Sora looked right into her aura and he could see that she was telling the truth. And he could see her aura was similar to his mother's but he wanted to make sire for himself is she is who she says she is.

"But the only way this would make sense would be that Sora and Karen were twins," Cilan stated.

"Twins? You mean I had another cousin and none of us knew about it until now?" Ventus asked.

"Don't jump to conclusions, Ven. There's no telling if she is even related to Sora," Aqua said.

"The only way we're going to be sure if we get a DNA test, and that is very expensive," Terra said.

"Terra's right. But I'm not seeing any other options," Aqua said.

"I know it's quite a shock. I came all this way just so I could know the truth," Karen said.

"And we will find out the truth," Cilan said.

"You know something, I think we should give it a try. Maybe we can get a DNA test and find out for real," Sora said.

Upon arriving in Driftveil City, Sora was quiet for the most part. He had to admit, he wasn't expecting this. Finding out that Kairi's parents are alive was one thing, but finding out that you're not an only child was another story. The rest of them were also quiet since it was very awkward for them all. They came to a local hospital to see if there was some way to have a DNA test for a lower price.

"You're joking, right? You can't just expect to get a DNA test for free," a clerk said.

"But we just want to see for ourselves. Can't you just make an exception just this once?" Sora asked.

"Sorry no exceptions! If you want to have a DNA test, then come back when you can afford it in twenty to thirty years!" The clerk said.

"How rude," Iris hissed.

"Some things can't be helped," Cilan said. Just then a doctor was listening on their request.

"Excuse me, youngsters. I couldn't help but overhear that you need a DNA test, is that correct?" The doctor asked.

"Yeah. That's exactly it," Sora said.

"You see, this girl here thinks that Sora is her long lost brother, so we need a DNA test to confirm it for themselves," Cilan said.

"I see. Then I can help you out," the doctor said.

"You sure you wanna do that?" Kairi asked.

"Oh, I am. I'm Dr. Marcus, and I have just the thing to do it. I practice DNA tests in my own lab," Dr. Marcus said.

"Thank you. You don't know how much this means to us," Karen said.

"You are very welcome, dearie. Now, let's head on over there," Dr. Marcus said. He led the group to the lab to do the test. "Normally, I don't do human DNA, but I am willing to make an exception in your case."

"Thank you for understanding," Karen said.

"Just who are we going to do it? A drop of blood?" Ventus asked.

"Actually, I was going to suggest that," Dr. Marcus said, taking out a couple of pins. "Just prick yourselves on one of these and we can get started." Sora pricked his finger.

"Ouch," Sora said. He placed the drop of blood on a microscope slide. Karen did the same thing as a drop went on a seperate slide. Dr. Marcus looked through the microscope and he did a close analysis on the blood very thoroughly. He went through it very carefully. After a few minutes, Dr. Marcus had this announcement to make.

"I have the results. It turns out that you two are indeed related by blood. You're twins," Dr. Marcus said. Everyone were surprised by the results; Sora and Karen especially.

"I was hoping that it was true, Sora. I was hoping that we were related to each other!" Karen said as she cried happily, hugging her new brother. Sora was choked up by this new development, so he hugged his sister.

"I'm glad that we are sis," Sora said. Kairi was happy for her boyfriend, seeing two siblings meeting for the first time ever. "Mom will be in for quite a surprise." Sora makes contact with his Xtransceiver.

Over in Pallet Town, Delia was polishing Sora's trophies when she heard the phone ringing. She went to answer it.

"Hello, Ketchum residence," Delia greeted.

"Hello, mom," Sora said. Delia squealed happily to hear her son's voice. Sora's face came on screen.

"Sora! How nice of you to call! How are you? And where are you?" Delia asked.

"I'm Driftveil City," Sora said. "And everything is great. We're all doing great."

"How wonderful! And how is Kairi these days? Is she doing a good job in taking care of you?" Delia asked.

"A very good job," Kairi said.

"Mom, there's a reason that I'm calling," Sora said.

"Oh? What is it, Sora?" Delia asked.

'The thing is, there's this girl here, and there is something she wants to tell you," Sora said. Karen is now on the screen.

"Hello, Delia," Karen said.

"Yes. How can I help you?" Delia asked.

"First of all, I just wanted to say that it's good to be finally talking to you and hearing your voice for the first time," Karen said.

"I'm flattered that you wanted to talk to me. Is there something I can do for you?" Delia asked.

"The thing is, I wanted to tell you this. I'm your daughter," Karen said.

"Wha?!" Delai exclaimed in shock.

"I know it's a shock, but it's true. Sora and I had a DNA test and we're a match!" Karen said.

"Are you sure that you are my daughter?" Delia asked.

"I am now. I was born in the Pallet Town General Hospital. You remember the doctors telling you about my birth?" Karen asked. Delia paused.

"Yes. I had twins, a boy and a girl, but I was told that you died in childbirth," Delia said.

"I was placed in an orphanage until I was six months old and I moved to Nuvema Town. I have this photo of you and my father," Karen said, holding up the picture. Delia's eyes welled up in tears.

"Katio," Delia said tearfully. "I had a daughter all this time and I didn't know."

"I hate to interupt, but how come you never told me, mom?" Sora asked.

"I was going to tell you when you were a little older, but it looks like I waited much longer than I should have. I'm sorry, Sora," Delia apologized.

"No, mom. You got nothing to apologize for," Sora said.

"I'm looking forward in meeting you in person, mom," Karen said. Delia smiled hearing her daughter call her mom for the first time.

"I'm looking forward in meeting you, too, honey. I think I'll go now. There's something I think I should do. We'll have plenty of time to catch up! Love you!" Delia said.

"Love you too!" Sora and Karen said. Sora breaks contact.

Over in Pallet Town, she starts to make her way to the hospital. She approached the office of the doctor who helped birth Sora and Karen. The doctor saw her come in.

"Delia? Hello. You're looking well," the doctor greeted. Delia just glared at him angrily. "Delia?" She slowly approached him, clutching her fist.

"You took my daughter from me, you no good, two-faced, lying SON OF A BITCH!" Delia yelled, punching him in the face.

"Delia? What was that for? And I don't know what you're talking about!" The doctor asked.

"Cut the bullshit! You know damn well what I'm talking about! My son Sora just called me and told me that he had a DNA test, confirming that a girl he met in the Unova region is his long lost twin sister! That makes her my daughter! Why did you send her away form me? Why did you take her from me like that drunk driver took my husband from me?! WHY?!" Delia demanded.

"Delia, I had to! You have every right to be angry, because of your husband! Your daughter was sent somewhere, and someone told me that she died! I swear to Arceus, I never intended for it to happen!" The Doctor said.

"What you did was unforgivable! I can't even believe that I trusted you! You betrayed my trust! I am never speaking to you again!" Delia said as she stormed out of the hospital. The doctor sighed.

"I always knew she would find out someday. But she took even more painful than I anticipated," the doctor said.

Back in Driftveil City, the group all made it to the Pokémon Center and went to talk.

"Okay, sis. Let's start with you. You said that you lived in Nuvema Town for as long as you remember, right?" Sora asked.

"That's right. I was told by my adoptive parents that the hospital placed me in an orphanage ran by an uncaring caretaker. I stayed there for the first six months of my life, until they came and adopted me. After that, I had believed that they were my real parents, until I started to have dreams about you and my real mother. When I told them about my dreams, they told me the truth about my birth," Karen said.

"Just how did you take it at first, because I recall that you said that you were upset when the truth was revealed," Cilan said.

"I was," Karen said.

(Flashback)

"I was coming back home when I saw them standing at the door, and they said they had something to tell me," Karen narrated.

"Karen, honey. There's something your mother and I think you should know," Karen's adoptive father said.

"And that was the talk that changed my life forever," Karen narrated.

"I'm what?!" Karen exclaimed in shock.

"That's right, honey. You're not our real daughter. We were talking about adopting a baby girl and raise her as our own, and that's when we met you," Karen's adoptive father said.

"No, you're lying, dad! Mom, tell me that he's lying!" Karen pleaded. Karen's adoptive mother sighed.

"I'm afraid it's not a lie, honey. We're not your real parents," Karen's adoptive mother said.

"No, no, no!" Karen said with tears.

"Karen, please listen what we have to say," Karen's adoptive mother said.

"I don't want to hear it!" Karen shouted. "Just leave me alone!" She ran up to her room with tears soaking in her eyes. Her adoptive parents sighed as they looked at each other. She planted her face on her pillow and cried uncontrollably. She felt a huge jab in her heart.

"As you can tell, the news was so shocking, I didn't want to believe a word of it. I cried about it for hours, thinking about what was told about me. That was until my adoptive mom came up and to talk to me," Karen narrated. She slowly opened the door.

"Karen, honey, may I come in?" Karen's adoptive mother asked.

"Go away," Karen said with dry tears.

"Please, listen to me," Karen's adoptive mother said. She sat down on the bed. "I know it was quite a surprise for you. Your father and I adopted you because we saw how you needed love and affection. And after we did, we grew to love you. All those times we had were the happiest times for us. We did plan on telling you the truth someday, and we just wish it didn't have to come so soon. And just you know that we're not related by blood, you will always be our daughter. Your father and I love you more than life itself." She stood up and headed for the door. Karen sat up.

"Where did I really come from? Can you at least tell me that?" Karen asked.

"Your father and I lived in Kanto before we moved here in Nuvema Town. And here's something I have for you. Something I think you should see," Karen's adoptive mother said. She took out the picture and handed it to her. Karen took it and her eyes went wide when she saw that the woman in the picture looks exactly like her.

"It's her. The woman in my dreams," Karen said.

"This was handed to us when we adopted you. And this was all we have of your real parents," Karen's mother. "I'm just sorry that you found out the way you did."

"No, mom, there's nothing to forgive. I overreacted. I'm the one who should be sorry," Karen said.

"Like you said, there's nothing to forgive. You had every right to overreact," Karen's mother said.

"I know, but still that was no excuse for my behavior. And I'm glad that you showed me this," Karen said.

"And I'm happy that you're taking it a whole lot better now," Karen's adoptive mother said. Karen hugged her adoptive mother and she hugged her back. Karen's adoptive father was watching from outside and he smiled warmly as a tear came down his eye.

"After that, everything kinda went back to the way it was for the most part. That is, until I saw you and her. I didn't mention another baby to them until I was certain. I wanted to go up to you and introduce myself, but I couldn't work up the nerve. When I came back to Professor Juniper's lab, I found out that you had already left. My adoptive parents supported my desicion to look for you, and allowed me to go. So, I was following you ever since," Karen narrated.

(Flashback ends)

"And here we are. My long lost brother right beside me," Karen said happily.

"That's quite a story," Aqua said.

"You were right, Venny, you did have another cousin and didn't know it," Meowth said.

"There is just one more thing that's not quite sinking in yet. Now that we now know we're twins, but which one of us is the older twin?" Sora asked.

"I was wondering about that, too," Kairi said.

"I think I can answer that," a familiar voice spoke. It turns out to be Dr. Marcus. "I have a way of telling of which twin is the oldest, so I think I can provide that answer, so the older twin is the spiky haired kid here. Now that I answered that question, I'll just go now." Dr. Marcus took his leave.

"Well that came completely out of nowhere," Meowth said.

"But I'm happy that my questions are finally answered. But I think I told you enough about my life, tell me about yours, Sora. I would like to know what it like living with mom," Karen said.

"Well, until today I had always thought I was an only child, so mom has raised me on her own. I grew up without dad around, but it was okay, because I had lit up her life when I ever since our birth. And when I started to go on my own Pokémon journey, I overslept and went down to Professor Oak's lab and met Pikachu when all the starters were already taken," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"So, Pikachu was your first. It's so cute," Karen said, tickling Pikachu's chin.

"Cha!" Pikachu cooed.

"Pikachu didn't really like me at first. What he did was shock me when we first met," Sora said.

"Pika," Pikachu said.

"I tried to catch my first Pokémon when I saw a Pidgey in a cage set up by Pokémon hunters," Sora said.

"Pokémon hunters?" Karen asked.

"Yeah. They set their sights on Pikachu, so we managed to get away from them when they sent a flock of Spearow after us. We managed to get away from them for the moment, but that was when we stumbled on their camp," Sora said.

"What happened next?" Karen asked.

"After that, I went over to a sack. I thought it was a Pokémon inside it, but it was actually a person. Kairi was in that sack, so I saved her life," Sora said. Karen looked right at Kairi and smiled since she knew he had a special someone right by his side. "After that, Kairi, Pikachu, and I were together ever since. We met all kinds of people and Pokémon along the way. We even made friends and traveled in different regions. Along the way, Kairi and I became a couple." Sora took her by the hand, making Kairi smile.

"And I'm happy that you are, because I had a feeling that you two were an item," Karen said. "I could tell by the way you're always next to him."

"I think we're going to get along just fine. I'm just assuming that you're not one of those sisters whol will do whatever they can to break us up, right?" Kairi asked.

"Don't worry. I won't be in the way. Besides, if my biological mom is okay with you, then I am, too," Karen said. "Besides, I had a feeling we were going to be fast friends."

A little later after getting to know everyone, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Meowth has made it to the Driftveil City Gym.

"Here it is. The Driftveil City Gym," Sora said.

"The Gym Leader here is said to use Ground Type Pokémon, so Pikachu's Electric Type moves won't have any effect," Cilan said.

"Then it's a good thing I have Servine, Dewott, and Cubchoo with me" Sora said. He was about to step inside when a large man with brown hair and eyes stepped out. He wore a large cowboy hat, with a yellow stripe and a teal gem on the front. He also wore a sleeveless jacket, with small ribbons on his chest, as well as a hazel shirt underneath. He also wore teal pants, with a belt with a yellow buckle, underneath his large brown ones, as well as a pair of dark shoes.

"Who are you?" The man asked.

"I'm Sora and I'm here to challegne the Driftveil City Gym Leader," Sora said.

"Well now, looks like I have a bunch of challengers coming my way," the man said.

"You mean you're the Gym Leader?" Sora asked.

"That I am, son. The name's Clay, but I'm very busy, so I ain't got time to battle," Clay said.

"I'm looking for a new vein in the mine I own just outside of town. I'll be on over there," Clay said.

"Okay, I'll be over at the Pokémon Center, so I'll see you there," Sora said. Sora sighed. "And I was so close."

"What's his deal. Clay must have lots of problems," Iris said.

"Don't let it bother you. I'm sure Clay has a lot to deal with," Cilan said.

"Yeah, owning a mine can take up some of your time," Terra said.

"That would mean that there's more time to train," Sora said.

With that said, the group all returned to the Pokémon Center to wait for Clay's answer.

Later that night, Karen has gotten up from bed with Kairi waiting for her.

"Been up long?" Karen asked.

"Not really. I just thought we could talk for a bit," Kairi said. Karen smiled.

"I'm glad. I just wanted to start to get to know you," Karen said. "What I wanted to know is about the relationship between you two. How has been for you?" Kairi smiled.

"It's the best thing to ever happen to me. If I haven't met Sora that day, I wouldn't be the Pokémon Coordinator I am today," Kairi said.

"You're a Pokémon Coordinator? That's so amazing," Karen said impressed.

"Thank you. I have to say that I kinda had the reaction as you a while back," Kairi said. Karen blinked twice.

"What do you mean?" Karen asked.

"Well, when I was a baby, I was raised by my grandma after being told that my parents were both dead. We all thought they were until we saw them again in the Johto region. It was quite a shock for me when I saw them again for the first time since I was a baby. I was upset when I saw them, so I didn't know what to believe. It was your brother that spoke some sense into me and convinced me to give them a chance. They explained their reasons to me and I forgiave them that they faked their deaths just to protect me," Kairi said. Karen was amazed by what she was told.

"Wow," Karen could only say.

"When we came to New Bark Town to meet up with Professor Oak, your mom, and my grandma, she was surprised to see them again after so long. They're living in Pallet Town since our moms became fast friends," Kairi said.

"I'm glad that you got to know your parents for real, Kairi," Karen said.

"And I'm glad that you finally have your answer, Karen," Kairi said.

Both girls smiled and they shook hands. Kairi and Karen knew they were both lucky that they got know Sora very much.
