Episode 458: Chargestone Cave
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Hilbert, Hilda, Binaca, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Axew were rushing through the forest and made it to a small field.
"How much further are we til we get there?" Sora asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu added.
"It's my first time going there, so I don't really know!" Bianca said.
"It's our first time there, too," Hilda said.
"So, we'll have to get there and meet up with her," Hilbert said.
Just then, a large Blitzle appeared before the group and attacked.
"Not now," Sora groaned. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Servine!" His Servine came on out to battle. "Servine! Use Attract!" Servine unleashed Attract right at Blitzle, making him fall in love with Servine. "Use Leaf Blade!" Servine jumps and uses Leaf Blade onto Blitzle. "Now, use Vine Whip!" Servine smacks the zebra-like Pokémon with Vine Whip and takes him down. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Blitzle flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Blitzle with him. He chose to send Blitzle over to Professor Oak's lab. With that done, he calls back Servine. "Let's go!" Everyone all agreed with him and carried on towards Chargestone Cave.
The group kept on going and going until they came across a cave.
"Is that it, over there?" Meowth asked.
"That's the one!" Hilbert said.
"It's the only one around here," Iris said.
"Point taken," Hilbert said.
The group entered the cave inside and saw how it looked inside.
"What a cave," Ventus said.
"These are the Chargestones," Cilan said.
"And no wonder it's called Chargestone Cave. Just look at all these stones," Karen said. Just then, a Tynamo attacked the group. They all ducked their heads out of the way.
"What was that?" Aqua asked. They all looked around. Ventus spots something moving.
"Guys, look! There's something moving around over there," Ventus said. They saw it was a Tynamo coming out of hiding.
"It's a Tynamo," Cilan said. Tynamo comes at the group with Tackle. They all ducked their heads down as Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Roggenrola!" Sora called out. Roggenrola came on out to battle. "Roggenrola! Use Sandstorm!" Roggenrola unleashed Sandstorm and it struck the elefish Pokémon. Tynamo fights back with Charge Beam, landing a hit. Tynamo then charged towards Roggenrola with Spark and lands a hit. "Roggenrola!" The mantle Pokémon then started to evolve. Roggenrola has now become a Boldore. "Rogeenrola evolved. And thr means Roggenrola has learned a new move. Power Gem!" Boldore's orange crystals glows brightly and fires right at Tynamo. The elefish Pokémon had been taken down as Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Tynamo flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Tynamo with him. He chose to send Tynamo over to Professor Oak's lab. Sora went over to Boldore and smiled. "That was great, Boldore."
"Boldore," the newly evolved Boldore said.
They went even deeper in the cave and they saw an opening and they saw Professor Juniper along with her assstants.
"Hilbert, Hilda, Binca, along with Sora, Kairi, and company. It's been a while," Professor Juniper said.
"It's good to see you, professor," Sora said. Professor Juniper looked right at Karen.
"Why Karen, hello. It's been some time since I last saw you," Professor Juniper said.
"Same here, professor," Karen said.
"May I ask what brings you all the way out here?" Professor Juniper asked.
"Well, if luck wouold have it, Sora and I are brother and sister. The reason I went looking for Sora in Unova was to learn the truth for myself," Karen said. Professor Juniper smiled as she understood.
"I'm glad that you finally know, Karen," Professor Juniper said.
"So now, I'm sticking with Sora to know meet my real mother," Karen said.
"Sorry for being late, professor," Bianca said.
"No need to apologize, Bianca. All that matters that you have shown up when you did. I just had assumed that you might have been lost, but you saved me the trouble of havong to look for you," Professor Juniper said.
"Anyway, why did you want to meet with Bianca here?" Terra asked.
"Just for research purposes. You are familiar with Karrablast and Shelmet, aren't you?" Professor Juniper asked.
"We know all about it," Sora said. "The thing is, I caught a Karrablast and a Shelmet before getting to Driftveil City, but they evolved into an Escavilier and an Accelgor without making a trade at all." Professor Juniper's eyes were widened.
"How is that possible?" Porfessor Juniper asked.
"I deduced that it may have somehing to do with the energy that makes their evolution possible, as well as Pikachu's electricity," Cilan said.
"I see," Professor Juniper looked right at Bianca. "You do have a Karrablast or a Shelmet, I presume?"
"I have a Shelmet with me," Bianca said, calling out Shelmet.
"I see," Professor Juniper said. Bianca calls back. She led the group to a trade machine. "And here we are. It's my Pokémon Trade Machine."
"Wow, I have never seen a Pokémon Trade Machine before," Iris said.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"I can't wait to see its recipe for evolution," Cilan said.
"I would like to trade right away!" Bianca said.
"I would like to get some data on the pre-evolutions first. And that would be through a battle," Professor Juniper said.
"Of course!" Bianca said.
Both Bianca and Professor Juniper got into position to battle. She looked right at Cilan.
"How about you act as the referee?" Professor Juniper asked.
"Of course. The battle between Bianca and Professor Juniper is about to begin! This is a one-on-one battle, so the battle will be over when one of either side's Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Now, begin!" Cilan said. Professor Juniper took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Karrablast!" Professor Juniper called out.
"Go! Shelmet!" Bianca called out.
"Bianca, you may have the first move," Professor Juniper said.
"Of course," Bianca said. Shelmet froze and withdrew into its shell.
"What's with that Shelmet? It's totally different from the one Sora had," Ventus said.
"Remember, Ven, Pokémon have different personalities like humans do," Terra said.
"Right," Ventus said.
"I think you should make the first move instead," Bianca gestured to Professor Juniper.
"Um, okay. Karrablast! Use Peck!" Professor Juniper ordered. Karrablast charged right at the snail Pokémon with Peck.
"Use Protect!" Binaca ordered. Shelmet uses Protect to block out Karrablast's Peck.
"That's a good block," Karen said.
"Yeah, that only saved Shelmet for right now," Terra said.
Karrablast kept trying to get pass Shelmet's Protect.
"Look at that. Karrablast is trying to force his way through with Peck, but Shelmet's defense is super strong," Kairi said.
"Karrablast! Use Take Down!" Professor Juniper ordered. Karrablast charged right at Shelmet with Take Down.
"Shelmet! Use Protect again!" Bianca ordered. Karrablast rammed right into Shelmet with a force of his body, pushing Shelmet back. Karrablast backs up as Shelmet opens its shell.
"Bianca, you gotta attack more!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Yeah, easy for you to say. My little Shelmet is really shy," Bianca said. Shelmet shuts its shell again. Just then, the elctrical equipment started to malfunction.
"Well then, it looks like I'm going have to attack again," Professor Juniper said.
"What's going on?!" A scientist exclaimed. Everyone all looked right at him. "Professor, we have a problem! Professor, you got to have a look at this!" Cilan stepped in with his hands crossed as a T.
"Time out! This battle is on hold!" Cilan announced. Professor Juniper calls back Karrablast and went up to him.
"What's wrong?" Professor Juniper asked.
"I'm not sure, professor, but I am picking up a lot of strange readings," the scientist replied. "There are strange readings coming from the cave, too!"
"Oh no," Professor Juniper said. The group all followed her to the Pokémon Trading Machine and it was giving off sparks as well.
"We detecting some unsual energy readings coming from area 7," the scientist said.
"Oh dear. In that case, we might not be able to carry out the Pokémon trade," Professor Juniper said.
"Wah! Why, but why?!" Bianca exclaimed.
"Because the interference is affecting the Pokémon Trade Machine," Professor Juniper said.
"Oh, what am I going to do?! What am I going to do?! What am I going to do?!" Bianca cried as she ran around.
"Bianca, get a hold on yourself!" Cilan said.
"Getting all worked up isn't going to solve anything," Iris said. Bianca sighed.
"I guess you're right, Iris," Bianca said.
"What could be causing this?" Aqua asked.
"It might be Team Plasma, up to their dirty tricks," Meowth said.
"It does have a suspicious armoa," Cilan said.
"Yeah, Team Plasma could try just about anything," Hilbert said.
"We can't be sure if it is Team Plasma," Professor Juniper said. "Let's investigate Area 7 anyway." With that said, the group went to Area 7 as her assistants are using a device to pick up the readings. "What in the world is going on in there?" A sound is heard from inside the cave.
"It's been going on in there for quite a while now," the scientist said.
"Creepy? What is that?" Bianca asked.
"Don't worry, we're going in," Professor Juniper said.
"And we're right behind you," Sora said.
With that said, they follow the professor right inside the cave. The readings increased the further they went.
"The readings are getting stronger," the scientist said. He points the device to the right. "It's coming from that way!" They went to the right and saw a bunch of Klink.
"Those are Klink," Karen said.
"Could they be the cause the of the interference?" Terra asked. She looked closely at the Klink.
"That's not true. There's nothing wrong with any of these Kilnik. Let's keep moving," Professor Juniper said. They pressed on forward to the disturbacnce. The readings were getting stronger. The source of the disturbance came from a Kilnklang. "The disturbance is coming from that Klinklang without a doubt." The Klinklang was giving off electricity.
"Klinklang?" Iris asked.
"Klinklang is the fully evoled form of Klink," Cilan said.
"What's wrong with it?" Ventus asked. Klinklang fires a bolt of electricity, making everyone yelp as they ducked.
"Whoa, that was close," Meowth said.
It wasn't over as it kept firing the electric embers at the group.
"What's going on with it?!" Iris asked.
"There must be something wrong with Klinklang!" Cilan stated.
Professor Juniper took out a device and attempted to get close to the gear Pokémon.
"Professor, what are you doing?" Sora sked.
"Don't worry, I got this," Professor Juniper assured him. She got closer to the gear Pokémon. It was calming down the more she uses the machine.
"What's that thing?" Ventus asked.
"The device the professor is using gives out a sound that Klinklang likes. And that sound is what's calming it down," the scientist said.
"It's okay, it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you," Professor Juniper said. She got closer and she saw something was jamming the gears. "So, that's what's benn troubling you. I'll get it out." Professor Juniper took out the object obstructing Klinklang's functions. It turns out to be a pen. Klinklang has managed to calm right down.
Sora went right up to Professor Juniper.
"What was wrong with it?" Sora asked.
"It just had this clogging up its gears," Professor Juniper said, showing them the gear.
"So, that's what all the fuss was about?" Sora asked.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"I guess if I had something like that, clogging up my geaars, then I would feel so good either," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"We shouldn't pat ourselves on the back yet, because there's a chance that Team Plasma might be around here," Hilbert said.
"He's right, Sora. We know how they think," Kairi said.
"I have considered the same thing. Are there any signs of other human beings other than us?" Professor Juniper asked. The scientist checks the scanner.
"No, professor. The only readings on human beings I have is just us," the scientist said.
"Team Plasma are definitely not here, and that's a good sign," Professor Juniper said.
"I'm not getting my hopes up too high because we'll just see them again pretty soon," Terra said.
"I agree. They'll stop at nothing until they accomplish their goal," Cilan said. Bianca walked up to Professor Juniper.
"Um, excuse me, professor, if it's not too much trouble, but do you think we can make the trade now?" Bianca asked.
"Of course. Since Klinklang is no longer generating electricty throughout the Chargestone Cave," Professor Juniper said.
With that said, they all returned to the campsite and to witness the trade and evolution of Karrablast and Shelmet.
"Shelmet, I'll miss you, so I want you to be good for your new trainer," Bianca said.
"Whenever you're ready, we can begin," Professor Juniper said.
Bianca nodded, "Of course." Bianca hands her Shelmet's Pokéball. Professor Juniper places it on part of the Pokémon Trade Machine as Professor Juniper did the same thing.
"Initiate Pokémon trade," Professor Juniper said, activating the machine. The two Pokéballs then gave off green sparks as they were now being switched around. Bianca now had Karrablast as Professor Juniper now had Shelmet. "Now, we were in the middle of a battle, weren't we?"
"Of course," Bianca said.
Everyone stepped outside as Professor Juniper threw the Pokéball containing Shelmet.
"Come out out, Shelmet!" Professor Juniper called out. Shelmet came out and started to evolve. Shelmet had now become an Accelgor.
"Go! Karrablast!" Bianca called out. Karrablast came on out and then started to evolve. Karrablast was now an Escavalier. "Beautiful. Karrablast is now an Escavalier. It's inherited Shelmet's armor."
"Sora, you had both a Shelmet and a Karrablast, right? And you said that they didn't evolve the same way as theirs did, right?" Hilbert asked.
"That's right, Hilbert. It was an amazing thing to see," Sora said.
"I think Escavalier looks mad," Ventus said. Escavalier glares right at Bianca.
"No, Ven. It's not angry. It's just happy to meet me," Bianca said. Escavalier then starts to chase after his new trainer. Bianca screams while the cavalry Pokémon chases her around. "This is not how you greet your new trainer, Escavalier!"
"That's oone way of saying hello," Ventus said.
"And goodbye," Meowth added.
"Stop chasing me, please!" Bianca shouted as Escavalier kept chasing her. "Help, help, help!"
"Looks like I have no choice. Accelgor! Use Substitute!" Accelgor makes a copy of itself, drawing Escavalier's attention. Escavalier went fo the copy and attacked the copy, making it go poof. "Quickly, get Escavalier back into its Pokéball!" Bianca quickly calls Escavalier back inside.
"Why are you so mad?" Bianca asked.
"Escavalier might have inherited Shelmet's shell, but it still has Karrablast's very aggressive personality," Professor Juniper said.
"I'll say this, Escavalier's taste for battle is pretty obvious," Cilan said.
"Maybe so, but I doubt Bianca's going to deal with its personality," Iris said.
"Especially after Escavalier tried to use her as its own personal punching bag," Karen said.
"That wouldn't be the case unless Bianca tries to make an effort to get Escavalier to follow her instructions," Sora said.
"And I have the perfect idea on the matter," Professor Juniper said. Everyone all looked at her. "I was thinking of a tag battle."
"A tag battle will help?" Bianca asked.
"Yes, I think we need to do something to help Escavalier get rid of that excess energy we just witnessed," Professor Juniper said. Bianca thought for a moment, an then decided she was on board with the idea.
"Right! Let's go! Let's go!" Bianca said. The Pokémon researcher of Unova looked right at Sora and Kairi.
"And would it be alright if you two would be our opponents?" Professor Juniper asked.
"Sure," Sora said.
"I don't have a problem with it," Kairi said.
"Yay! A tage battle! Yippe woo hoo!" Bianca cheered.
"Then, I shall be the referee for the match," Cilan volunteered. Sora, Kairi, Professor Juniper, and Bianca took their positions to battle. "Both teams will be using one Pokémon from each trainer! The battle is over when either one Pokémon from either side is unable to continue to battle!" Sora and Kairi each took out a Pokéball. "Begin!"
Sora and Kairi each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Tranquill!" Sora and Kairi called out. Both Tranquill came right out at the same time.
"We got some serious high-flying competition for our evolution debut," Professor Juniper said. "Accelgor! Come on out!" She threw her Pokéball and Accelgor came out to battle.
"It's up to you. Go! Escavalier!" Bianca called out. Escavalier both came out. Escavalier glared right at her. "Why won't Escavalier like me?"
"Let's get this over with! Tranquill! Use Gust!" Sora ordered.
"You use Gust, too!" Kairi ordered.
Both Tranquill flapped their wings, creating a strong wind. Escavalier and Accelgor both got hit by the hit.
"Quick Attack, let's go!" Professor Juniper ordered. Accelgor dashed right at both Tranquill and they got hit hard.
"That Accelgor is fast," Sora said.
"That must how the Professor works," Kairi said.
"Okay now, Bianca, it's your turn!" Iris shouted.
"Yeah, show them what you've got!" Ventus said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Vee!" Angel added.
"Yeah? Excuse me, Escavalier..." Bianca tried to say, but Escavalier tries to jab the two wild pigeon Pokémon, but they were too fast for him.
"Escavalier's pretty fast, too," Kairi said.
"Yeah," Sora agreed.
"Wow, that was great, Bianca! You and Escavalier are in perfect synch!" Iris said.
"But Bianca didn't tell Escavalier anything," Aqua said.
"She's right. Escavalier is just doing what he wants to do," Meowth said.
"That was an impressive Fury Attack," Professor Juniper complimented.
"Yes, but I haven't given it a single command," Bianca said.
"What do you think, Sora?" Kairi asked her boyfriend.
"We should focus on Escavalier first, and then we'll deal with Accelgor," Sora said.
"Okay. I think I have the perfect move to use," Kairi said. "Tranquill! use Air Cutter!" Kairi's Tranquill sends out Air Cutter to hit Escavalier, but he just doged her moves. "Your turn, Sora."
"Thank you. Tranquill! Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Sora's Tranquill darts right into Escavalier, landing a heavy hit. "That was great! Aerial Ace again!" Sora's Tranquill zipped towards Escavalier again.
"Accelgor! Use Substitute!" Professor Juniper ordered. Accelgor uses Substitute again, and it he takes the hit from Sora's Tranquill's Aerial Ace, causing the fake to vanish.
"Not Substitute," Sora groaned.
"Don't worry, Sora. Substitute can drain a Pokémon's stamina when it's used," Kairi said.
"Right," Sora said.
Escavalier looked around for Accelgor, and he sees him coming right towards his teammate.
"Escavalier, Accelgor used Substitute to help you out," Bianca said.
"Teamwork is the key element of winning a tag battle," Professor Juniper said.
"New plan! We go for Accelgor!" Sora said.
"On it!" Kairi agreed.
"Tranquill! Use Quick Attack!" Sora and Kairi ordered.
Both Tranquill dashed right at Accelgor right at the same time. Escavalier got in front of Accelgor and protects the shell out Pokémon by swinging his lances.
"Escavalier's protecting Accelgor the same way as Accelgor protected Escavalier with Substitute," Bianca said.
"Escavalier must have saw that Accelgor won't be able to take another hit after using Substitute," Terra said.
"Air Cutter!" Kairi ordered. Kairi's Tranquill unleashed Air Cutter right towards Escavalier.
"Iron Defense!" Bianca ordered. Escavalier uses Iron Defense to make Air Cutter bounce right off. "Yippe! Escavalier listened to my instructions!"
"Accelgor! Use Recover!" Professor Juniper ordered. Accelgor heals himself of his injuries.
"We were so close to bringing him down," Kairi said.
"It's okay, Kairi. We'll just have to try even harder. Let's combine our moves together," Sora said. Kairi nodded, remembering the battle with Sakkakumon and used a combo attack to take him down at last.
"Tranquill! Use Air Cutter!" Sora ordered.
"Use Gust!" Kairi ordered.
Sora's Tranquill unleashed Air Cutter as Kairi's Tranquill uses Gust. It creates a huge tornado with razors in it. They combined attack struck both of Escavalier and Accelgor, dealing some havey damage.
"What did they just do?" Hilbert asked.
"Just a little trick they used before," Meowth said.
"That was impressive, you two. But we're not done yet," Professor Juniper said. She turned to Bianca. "How about we combined our efforts as well?"
"Right!" Bianca said.
"Double Hyper Beam!" Professor Juniper and Bianca both ordered. Both Bug Type Pokémon fired their Hyper Beams together, creating one huge beam of energy.
"Try to dodge it!" Sora called out.
"Look out!" Kairi added.
Both wild pigeon Pokémon were struck hard by Hyper Beam. They fell to the ground and struggled to get back up. Both Tranquill let out loud cries and started to evolve. Sora's Tranquill evolved into a male Unfezant while Kairi's evolved into a female Unfezant.
"Wow, both of Sora and Kairi's Tranquill has become Unfezant!" Ventus said.
"Sora, not one of them can attack again after using Hyper Beam," Kairi reminded her boyfriend.
"Right! Let's try a new move they just learned!" Sora said. Kairi smiled.
"Okay!" Kairi said.
"Double Sky Attack!" Sora and Kairi ordered.
Both Unfezant started to build up their energy to unleash on both of Escavalier and Accelgor.
"We can attack while their building up energy," Professor Juniper said.
"Right!" Bianca said.
"Double Hyper Beam again!" Professor Juniper and Bianca ordered.
Both Pokémon fired Hypoer Beam right at the two Unfezant again. They managed to dodge and land a hit onto both of Escavalier and Accelgor. They were both shocked to see both of their new Pokémon were taken down.
"Accelgor and Escavalier are both unable to battle! Both Unfezant wins! The match goes to Sora and Kairi!" Cilan announced.
"They did it. Not only they make such a good coupe, but they make such a great team, too. This is the most incredible thing I have ever seen," Karen said in her thoughts. Professor Juniper and Bianca calls back both of Accelgor and Escavalier.
"Wow, Bianca has gotten so much stronger since the last time. The way she handled her new Escavalier is living proof," Hilbert said in his thoughts.
Bianca groaned, "In a while we were doing so well."
"I know it's a shame we didn't win the battle, but winning isn't why I did this," Professor Juniper said.
"Huh?" Bianca asked.
"I figured that a tag battle was a perfect way to get you and Escavalier in synch," Professor Juniper said.
"I get it. Awesome teamwork is just about endurance just it's about attacking," Iris said.
"Axew," Axew said.
"Win or lose, Bianca and Escavalier are a team, this battle just proved it," Aqua said. The couple went up to their opponents.
"I got to admit, you were close to getting us," Kairi said.
"Yeah. That was a goodcombo from those two Hyper Beams," Sora added.
"It was a good battle," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Bianca chuckled, "Yes, and it was fun, too." She went over to her Escavalier. "Thank you, you were so great." Escavalier was disappointed about losing. That is until he looked right at Bianca and has earned a new batch of respect for her.
"So, you think you and Escavalier will make a good team from now on?" Ventus asked.
"Yes. Escavalier is starting to listen to me; we understand each other," Bianca said. She giggled. "I totally thought we were going to win." Professor Juniper chuckled.
"Professor, here is the data we've vollected," the scientist said.
"This is an impressive sum of power," Professor Juniper said. "It's an impressive accomplishment to make against a champion like Sora." Sora blushed as he scratched the back of his head. "And that's just what you did."
"Yeah, you're right We did! And we'll show them the next time!" Bianca said. She calls Escavalier back and she smiled. "Thanks for everything, Professor Juniper. With Escavalier by my side, I'm sure to catch more and more Pokémon." She makes a turn. "Hey, gotta run! Bye bye!" Bianca took off.
"No one can accuse her of being sleepy," Iris said.
"She goes to show that some things never change," Cilan said.
"That's for sure," Karen said.
"But I think she's going to do just fine with Escavalier," Sora said.
Despite suffering a defeat by the hands of Sora and Kairi, Bianca has has gained a small sum of experience. It is a lesson she will not forget. And the same can be said for the group as their journey through Unova continues.
