Episode 459: Lillie in Unova
A few hours had passed since Bianca had left and they stuck with Professor Juniper for a bit. By then, Kairi exhanged her Unfezant and Frillish for Purrloin and Deerling as Sora exchanged his Unfezant and Boldore for his Dwebble and Foongus.
Just then, Lillie comes on by and she spots her friends.
"Sora! Kairi!" Lillie shouted to the couple. They turned to see Lillie appearing before them.
"As I live and breathe, it's Lillie!" Sora said.
"I'm so happy to see you again!" Kairi said.
Lillie went up to hug the couple.
"It feels like forever!" Lillie cried.
"Who's she?" Karen asked.
"That's Lillie. She's one of Sora and Kairi's old travel companions," Aqua said.
"Does that mean she's Gladion's sister?" Iris asked.
"That's right," Ventus said.
"Ven, Terra, Aqua, good to see you, too!" Lillie said.
"You too, Lillie," Terra said.
"Ven, you look a tad taller the last time I saw you," Lillie said, making Ventus laugh.
"Yeah, it's thanks to Kairi's good wholesome cooking," Ventus said.
"You must be the Lillie we heard so much about. I am Cilan, a Pokémon Conniseur," Cilan introduced himself.
"And I'm Iris, and this is Axew," Iris introduced.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"It's nice to meet you," Lillie said.
"I'm Hilbert, and this is Hilda," Hilbert introduced. Karen walked up to Lillie.
"Oh, and who is this?" Lillie asked.
"This is Karen. And there is something that will knock your socks off," Sora said. Lillie became curious about what Sora had to say.
"What?" Lillie asked.
"The thing is, she's actually my long lost twin sister," Sora said. Lillie was surprised that Sora told her that he has a sister.
"Sister?" Lillie asked in surprise. "I thought Sora was an only child," Lillie said.
"So did we until we had a DNA test," Sora said.
"It was quite a shock for all of us," Terra said.
"She explained to us that she was seperated from Sora when she and him were born," Aqua said.
"It was because I was told by my adoptive parents the truth about myself, so I wanted to know about myself and where I came from," Karen said.
"I see. I'm happy that you know the answer," Lillie said.
"And there's something else, too," Kairi said. Lillie looked at her and saw Kairis face light up with happiness. "My mom's going to have a baby."
"Mine too!" Ventus said.
Lillie was surprised to hear the news about Mirei and Cattleya.
"Congratulations, you two," Lillie said. She smiled at the thought of having a younger sibling of her own, someone who she and Gladion can look after together and play with, and make laugh. "Everyone in Alola is going to be surprised."
"Speaking of which, how are Illima and the others. We haven't seen them since the Wallace Cup," Sora said.
"They're doing great. They had their share of challengers coming in and out. They won some battles and lost some battles. Oh, and recently I have been to the Galar region and met up with Sonia. She wanted me to tell you that she says hello," Lillie said. Sora and Kairi smiled since they remembered Sonia seeing them off.
"Is this Sonia another friend of yours?" Karen asked.
"Yeah. She's Professor Magnolia's granddaughter. Kairi and I met her when we went on a trip to the Galar region and caught some local Pokémon living there," Sora said.
"The Galar region has some Pokémon that you can't find in Unova, like a Grookey, a Sobble, and a Scorbunny. There's also Yamask there, but they evolve into Runerigus," Kairi said.
"Anyway, you seen Riku lately?" Sora asked.
"Who's Riku?" Karen asked.
"He's a friend and rival of Sora's," Iris said. "He has an Eevee like Kairi's but that one Eevee has the same hairstyle as him."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Actually, I saw Riku just a few days ago. He told me that you're here in Unova and made me promise to give you his regards," Lillie said. Professor Juniper stepped in.
"Aw, you must be Lillie, Lusamine's daughter. Professor Redwood told me that you were coming to see me," Professor Juniper said.
"You're Professor Juniper, right? I'm Lillie, of course you already know that," Lillie said, making Professor Juniper laugh.
"Lillie used to travel with me and Kairi a while back," Sora said.
"I see," Porfessor Juniper said. "You have the data to show me?"
"Oh my, yes! I do!" Lillie said, showing her the data on the ancient ruins. "Professor Redwood wanted me to present this data on the ancient ruin I came across not too long ago. He wanted your opinion on the matter." Professor Juniper said.
"Hmm, this is interesting," Professor Juniper said.
"What could this be about?" Iris asked.
"It's data I have collected on the legendary Pokémon, Zekrom and Reshiram," Lillie said.
"Really? Zekrom and Reshiram?" Ventus asked.
"The very same. The one I'm heading for has a temple that honors Zekrom," Lillie said.
"Would it be okay if we tag along, for old times sake?" Sora asked. Lillie giggled.
"I was going to ask you the same thing, Sora," Lillie said. Sora turned to Hilbert and Hilda.
"What about you two? Are you going to tag along?" Sora asked.
"Thanks, but we think we should let you do the catching up. Besides, I'll be heading for Mistralton City anyway," Hilbert said.
"And I have to get ready for a Pokémon Contest soon," Hilda added. "It was nice meeting you, Lillie."
'You too, Hilbert, Hilda," Lillie said.
The group said their goodbyes to Professor Juniper and headed off to the ruins of Zekrom.
As they proceeded to head for the ruins, Sora thought of having a quick battle with Lillie before they got there.
"You up for a match, Lillie?" Sora asked.
"Anytime, Sora," Lillie said, taking out an Ultra Ball. "Let's make it two-on-two."
"Sure thing," Sora said, taking out a Pokéball.
"Go! Magearna!" Lillie called out. Magearna came on out to battle against Sora.
"Long time no see, Magearna!" Sora said. Magearna bows its head.
"Who's that Pokémon?" Iris asked.
"It's a Magearna. Magearna is a Style Type and a Fairy Type," Kairi said.
"Incredible. I have always thought it was a mere myth," Cilan said.
"No, it's real," Terra said.
"And here's my Pokémon, Pignite!" Sora called out. Pignite came out and flares his nostrils upon entry. "Wanna make the first move, Lillie?" Sora asked.
"I thank you for being a gentleman, Sora. Magearna! Use Fleur Cannon!" Lillie ordered. Magearna fires Fleur Cannon right at the fire pig Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Pignite fires Flamethrower and lands a hit onto the artificial Pokémon. "Now, use Flame Charge!" Pignite charges right at Magearna with Flame Charge.
"Use Gyro Ball!" Lillie ordered. Magearna spins around and heads right towards Pignite. Both Pokémon collides with each other. They both take some heavy damage.
"Magearna! Use Flash Cannon!" Lillie ordered. Magearna fire Flash Cannon right at the fire pig Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Pignite dodges and ran towards Magearna and lands a powerful punch onto Magearna, increasing his power. "That great, Pignite! Power-Up Punch again!" Pignite ran towards Magearna with another Power-Up Punch.
"Dodge and use Fleur Cannon!" Lillie ordered. Magearna fires Fleur Cannon right at the fire pig Pokémon and lands a hit.
"That was a good one, Lillie!" Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. You did a wonderful job at raising Pignite," Lillie said.
"Thanks. Pignite! Flamethrower!" Sora ordered.
"Fleur Cannon!" Lillie ordered.
Both Pignite and Magearna fired their attacks into one another and it resulted in an explosion. The smoke cleared to see Pignite and Magearna were both knocked out. Sora calls Pignite back as Lillie calls back Magearna.
"Get some rest, Pignite. You earned," Sora said.
"That was wonderful, Magearna. Rest," Lillie said. She smiled. She took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Snowy!" The Pokéball opens and Snowy comes on out. Iris yelped seeing that this Vulpix is an Ice Type. Cilan and Karen were awestruck by what they were seeing.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Karen asked.
"It's a Vulpix! An Alolan Vulpix to be exact! Quite a delicacy to beheld," Cilan said.
"Not only that, but also cute!" Karen said.
"Hey, Snowy! It's been a while!" Ventus siad.
"Vul!" Snowy cried happily.
Sira took out his next Pokéball.
"Okay, it's to rock out, Dwebble!" Sora called out. Dwebble came on out to battle.
"Dwebble," Dwebble said.
"A five-star choice since Dwebble is a Rock Type," Cilan said.
"Same as last time?" Sora asked.
"Snowy! Ice Beam!" Lillie ordered.
"Dwebble! Protect!" Sora ordered. Dwebble withdrew his shell and formed a protective barrier. Ice Beam bounces right off. Dwebble came out from his shell. "Now, use X-Scissor!" Dwebble came right at Snowy with X-Scissor.
"Use Hail!" Lillie ordered Snowy lets out a cry and it starts hailing. "Now, use Aurora Veil!" Snowy's body becomes surrounded in a veil of rainbow-colored aura. Dwebble gets pelted by the hail. "Dwebble! Use Rock Slide!" Dwebble unleashed Rock Slide right at the white fox Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Snowy!" Lillie called out.
Snowy avoids Dwebble's attack.
"Dwebble! Slash!" Sora ordered. Dwebble came right at Snowy and lands a hit. "Now, use X-Scissor!" Dwebble came right at Snowy with X-Scissor.
"Snowy! Use Blizzard!" Lillie ordered. Snowy unleashed Blizzard and lands a hit onto Dwebble. Blizzard deals lots of damage. "Ice Beam!" Snowy fires Ice Beam and it lands a hit onto Dwebble.
"Dwebble! Hang in there!" Sora said. Dwebble stood back up and started to evolve. Everyone is awestruck by the sight.
"Dwebble's evolving!" Kairi said.
Dwebble has now become a Crustle.
"Dwebble is now a Crustle!" Ventus said.
"It's no surprise that Sora's Pokémon would evolve in tight spots," Lillie said.
"You reay to rumble, Crustle?" Sora asked.
"Crust?" The newly evolved Crustle answered.
"Good! Use Shell Smash!" Sora ordered. Crustle jumped out of his shell and glows white. The energy then cracks and breaks off of Crustle's body, causing him to glow red."Now, use Rock Wrecker!" Crustle unleashed Rock Wrecker and it is thrown at Snowy, causing some heavy damage.
"Snowy!" Lillie gasped. She looked directly at Crustle. "Shell Smash increases Crustle's attack, but sacrifices its defense as well. It's just like Sora to use a gusty move." She smiled. "Snowy! Use Ice Beam!" Snowy unleashed Ice Beam right at the hermit crab Pokémon.
"Dodge and use X-Scissor!" Sora ordered. Crustle dodges Ice Beam and lands a hit with X-Scissor, finishing her off. The hail stops. Lillie went to Snowy.
"Are you okay, Snowy?" Lillie asked.
"Vul," Snowy replied.
"Don't cry, Snowy. You did your best," Lillie said. Lillie gave Snowy and Magearna some Hyper Potions to heal them from their injuries. Cilan helped by feeding them some Pokémon food.
"This should help them recover from their injuries," Cilan said.
"Thank you, Cilan," Lillie said. She turned to Sora. "I have to say, Sora, that was a wonderful battle."
"Thanks, Lillie. You grew stronger than the last time," Sora said.
"I'm happy that I was able to impress you," Lillie said. Both trainers shook hands.
A couple of days later, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Lillie, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Axew all entered the ruins of Zekrom.
"This must the ruins you told Professor Juniper about," Cilan said.
"Yes. This is the assignment that I have been sent on," Lillie said.
"It's too bad Elio and Selene has to miss this," Sora said.
"If Professor Redwood hasn't sent them out on seperate assignments, I would use their help. But as long as you're here, then it shoud be fine," Lillie said. Just when they thought they were alone, a bunch of Sigilyph were watching them, knowing that they didn't belong in their home. They had to drive them out.
Deeper inside the ruins, they looked around and saw all sorts of murals of Zekrom.
"What exactly are we looking for? You hadn't really filled us in," Sora pointed out.
"No, I haven't. It is said that there is an artifact in here. It is known as the Dark Stone," Lillie said.
"The Dark Stone?" Sora asked.
"Right. It is one of two stones that has a certain connection to a legendary Pokémon. The Dark Stone has a connection to Zekrom, while the Light Stone has a connection to Reshiram," Lillie explained.
"Why does that sound hauntingly familiar?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"What do you mean familiar, Sora?" Karen asked her brother.
"We heard something liek this before. There were two orbs in the Hoenn region that is said to control Groudon and Kyogre, a Red Orb and a Blue Orb. And there's the Adamant Orb and the Lustrous Orb, and those are connected to Palkia, and Dialga. And now that we know that's there's two other artifacts connected to legendary Pokémon, then Team Plasma mght try to pull something," Sora said.
"You mean like with what Team Magma, Team Aqua, and Team Galactic tried before?" Kairi asked.
"That's been the case before," Sora said.
"You don't think that Team Plasma might planning to destroy the world like Cyrus tried to do before, right?" Ventus asked.
"Why are there bad guys that wants to destroy the world instead of conquering it?" Meowth asked himself.
"I honestly hope not," Sora said.
"If you're right, Sora, then we have got to prevent that from happening," Lillie said.
"Professor Juniper should know about this," Terra suggested.
"I agree, because we can't let that happen," Cilan said.
Sora makes contact with Professor Juniper. She answers hers.
"Sora, I wasn't expecting to hear from you so soon. Were you successful in finding the ruins?" Professor Juniper asked.
"We did, but that's not why I'm calling you," Sora said.
"Then why?" Professor Juniper asked.
"The thing is, we just thought of Team Plasma using something called the Dark Stone touse to weaponize Zekrom. And that might be the same case for Reshiram," Sora said. Professor Juniper sroked her chin.
"You were right to bring this to my attention, Sora. This sounds like something they would do," Professor Juniper said. "If they get their hands on those stones and use them to call forth Zekrom and Reshiram, them we coud either have an unbridled wildfire, or a thunderstorm without end."
"What should we do to prevent it from happening?" Sora asked.
"Find the Dark Stone and we can try to keep it safe for as long as we can," Professor Juniper said.
"We'll get it," Sora said.
"I know I can count on you," Professor Juniper said.
Sora's eyes then glows blue as he looked into the future. He saw what looks like a castle. The Seven Sages excluding Ghetsis are all present as the grunts of Team Plasma were in every inch of the castle. Deep inside the castle is N hmself with Reshiram and Zekrom. Sorais shaken by Iris.
"Sora? Sora!" Iris called out to him. "Earth to Sora! Can you hear me?"
"Huh?" Sora asked. He looked right at Iris and she was freaked out. "What?"
"What's with you? For a moment there, your eyes were ven bluer than normal and then you spaced out!" Iris said.
"Oh, sorry," Sora apologized.
"What's with you?" Iris asked.
Kairi remembered when her boyfriend had a vision of Team Galactic succeeded in calling Palkia and Dialga and J's death.
"I think there's something more to Team Plasma's gols than we thought," Sora said.
Everyone all looked at him quite uneasy. Cilan, Iris, and Karen were wondering what Sora meant by that. ilan wondered if it has something to do with his power of aura.
In Team Shadow HQ, Mateus sat in his chair as he has the smiliar vision that Sora has.
"Xande," Matues spoke. Xande appeared appeared before him.
"You summoned me, my emperor?" Xande asked.
"Yes. There has been a shift. I have recieved a vision of what will be," Mateus said.
"I have seen it as well, my lord," Xande said.
"It would appear that Ghetsis will make his move to bring his plan into full realization," Matues said.
"Do you believe his plan will fail like Cyrus's has, my lord?" Xande asked.
"That if he runs into Sora Ketchum again. I have no doubts that he had the same exact vision," Mateus said.
"What shall we do?" Xande asked.
"For now, nothing. In the meantime, Dakim will make good use of his power and strength in Unova," Mateus said.
Back to the ruins, the group all went in deep into the ruins to find the Dark Stone to keep it out of the wrong hands. They were unaware of the Sigilyph following them. They came across three tunnels. The entrances above them all had different Pokémon above them; one being a Darumaka, one being a Krokorok, and one being a Golett.
"Which one do we go through?" Ventus asked.
"This part of the ruins has three ways to go, but only one of them is the right way; the other two has traps that will literally be the death of us," Lillie said. The rest of the group all gave loud gulps as they pictured themselves as skeletons in the ruins.
"So, which one do you think we should take?" Kairi asked.
"How about we try that way," Iris said, pointing to the Darumaka one.
"You sure, Iris?" Sora asked.
"Of course I'm sure. I have a good sense of direction," Iris said.
Iris marched boldy to the Marumaka path with the rest of the group following her. As they went down the cave, flaems erupts in front of them.
"It's a trap! Go back!" Cilan exclaimed. Flames cuts them off at the other side.
"We're surrounded!" Aqua cried.
Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Dewott!" Sora called out. Dewott came on out. "Water Gun!" Dewott fires Water Gun to put out the fire. "Run while we still can!" Not needing to be told twice, they all ran as fast as they could go. They came back out to the cave entrance.
"Any longer in there, then we would have been marshmallows," Meowth said.
"How about that we try that Krokorok one," Iris said.
"Let's hope that it's the right one this time," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
They all went into the Krokorok path and they came to a dead end.
"It's a dead end," Terra said. The walls suddenly began to close on them.
"The walls!" Meowth yelled.
"We're about to be a whole lot thinner!" Sora said. Iris took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Druddigon! Metal Claw!" Iris ordered. Druddigon uses Metal Claw to hold the wall while the group all ran out of the cave. Iris calls back Druddigon, knowing he wouldn't be able to hold on for much longer.
"That was close," Ventus said.
"The plus side is, we now know which way is safe and which way isn't," Sora said.
"Now to get the Dark Stone," Meowth said.
"Hold on, we don't know it could be booby trapped. The ancient people might have set it there to keep thieves out," Cilan said.
"Cilan's right. Just we bcause we survived doesn't mean that we're out of the woods," Lillie said.
They all agreed and they went for the Golett path. They saw coffins all around.
"Why do I have a feeling that we might be walking into another trap?" Iris asked.
"Lillie was right to point that out to us earlier," Terra said.
"We'll have to watch out step straight on," Aqua said.
"Right," everyone all said.
They got to the wall and pushed it hard. They saw a huge chamber.
"Stairs?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu also asked.
"Look down there!" Ventus said, pointing to the bottom. They saw it was surrounded by a pillar of crystals. "Is that what it looks like?"
"It's gotta be!" Lillie said.
The group all went down and saw a black stone resting in the center.
"The Dark Stone! We found it!" Lillie said.
"Now, we just have to grab it before something happens-" Sora's sentence was cut when the Sigilyph all appeared before them.
"Sililyph!" Cilan exclaimed.
"They must be here to keep up from taking the Dark Stone!" Cilan said.
"That's a good thought as any, Cilan," Sora said. The Sigilyph all attacked by using Psybeam.
"Watch out! They're using Psybeam!" Lillie shouted. They all dodged the attacks. The leading Sigilyph attacks with Air Slash.
"Pikachu! Go!" Sora called out. Pikachu stepped in to battle the Sigilyph. "Use Thunder!" Pikachu unleashed Thunder. He lands a hit onto many of the Sigilyph, knocking them out. The leading Sigilyph uses Psychic on Pikachu and sends him backwards. Pikachu gets back up his feet.
Unknown to them, a couple of Team Plasma grunts were sneaking on in.
"This is the place, like lord Ghetsis says," the male grunt said.
"The Dark Stone to which we will control Zekrom, the black dragon in the legend," the male grunt said.
"And then, we will gain the Light Stone to control the white dragon, Reshiram," the female grunt said. "We move in all the chaos."
The battle between Pikachu and the leading Sigilyph continued on as the others all attacked.
"Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel unleashes Swift and it struck all of the Sigilyph. Cilan took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Pansage, I'll need your assistance!" Cilan called out. Pansage came on out to battle. "Use your Rock Tomb on them!" Pansage uses Rock Tomb on the attacking Sigilyph. Kairi took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Purrloin!" Kairi called out. Purrloin came on out to join in the battle. "Use Night Slash!" Purrloin slashes at the Sigilyph with Night Slash. Lillie took out her Pokéball and threw it.
Using the battle as a dstraction, the Team Plasma grunts made it down with a rope, and took the Dark Stone while no one was looking. They snuck back up with the rope and retreated.
"Join in, Snowy!" Lillie called out. Snowy came out to battle. "Use Blizzard!" Snowy unleashed Blizzard and freezes them all, except for the leading Sigilyph.
Purrloin then started to evolve much to everyone's surprise. Purrloin has now become a Liepard.
"You evolved!" Kairi said.
"Pard!" The newly evolved Liepard purred.
"Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed towards the leading Sigilyph and lands a hit onto it. The leading Sigilyph fires Air Slash right at Pikachu, landing a hit.
"Pika!" Pikachu yelped.
"Pikachu! Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings his tail around and lands a hit onto Sigilyph. The avianoid Pokémon goes down as Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Pokéball struck Sigilyph and it flows inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Sigilyph with him. He chose to send Sigilyph over to Professor Oak's lab. Seeing their leader defeated, the rest of the Sigilyph has retreated.
"They won't be giving us any more trouble," Sora said.
"Now to get the-" Lillie's sentence was cut when she saw the stone was gone. "No! The Dark Stone!" They saw that the Dark Stone was gone.
"How could this happen?" Kairi asked.
"We were right here!" Karen added. They all looked around as Ventus and Meowth both looked up.
"Guys! Look!" Ventus shouted. They saw saw a couple of Team Plasma grunts.
"Hey! Who are you?" Sora shouted. The grunts made their getaway.
The Team Plasma grunts made it to their helicopter and went in the air as soon as they boarded. The female grunt made contact.
"Lord Ghetsis, we were successful in securing the Dark Stone," the female grunt reported.
"Excellent. All we need now is the Light Stone. For now, return to the castle," Ghestsis commanded.
"Yes, lord Ghetsis," the female grunt said.
The group all exited the ruins and reported that the Dark Stone had been stolen.
"I'm sure you did your best," Professor Juniper said.
"It would have been if it weren't for those Sigilyph," Iris said.
"Don't beat yourselves up about it. We'll have our chance the next time," Sora said.
"And those guys will pay through the nose," Meowth said.
"Well, I hope to hear from you again soon. Until then, good luck in your way," Professor Juniper said, breaking contact.
"It was wonderful to see you again, Sora, Kairi, Ven, Terra, Aqua Pikachu, Angel, and you too, Meowth. And it was nice meeting you, Karen, Iris, and Cilan," Lillie said.
"Where will you be going?" Ventus asked.
"Back home to Alola. Professor Redwood is anxious to hear about my findings," Lillie said.
"I hope we get to see you again. And I wanna meet the rest of my brother's other friends," Karen said. Lillie chuckled.
"I know they'll want to meet you after they hear about you," Lillie said.
Lillie hugged her friends goodbye and set off home for Alola. Karen was happy to meet one of Sora and Kairi's old friends, and she's already looking forward of meeting the rest. What does Team Plasma plan to do with the Light and Dark Stones? Just wait and see.
