Episode 464: The Clubsplosion Part 2
Where we last left off, the Clubsplosion Tournament makes a roaring start as twenty-four contestants makes their start on the battlefield as Sora, Riku, Iris, Cilan, Getty, and Rydia has won their battles, concluding the first half of the first half. Now only six more battles are about to start.
Speaking of which, Hugh has sent out his Samurott against Montgomery's Throh. Samurott has put up a tremendous fight against the judo Pokémon, but Throh has managed to make some serious comebacks against the fully evolved form of Oshawott.
"Hugh and Montgomery have gave it their all in this match, and it looks like it's going to go either way," Don George said.
"Samurott! Razor Shell!" Hugh ordered. Samurott came right at Throh, holding his scalchops in each hand.
"Dodge and use Bind!" Montgomery ordered. Throh dodged and grabs Samurott and has Samurott in a real tight squeeze.
"Samurott left itself open for Throh to hold it in Bind!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now, use Circle Throw!" Montgomery ordered. Throh gave Samurott a toss right towards the wall, resulting in a knockout.
"Samurott is unable to battle! Throh wins! The winner is Montgomery!" The referee announced.
"Montgomery makes number seven in this tournament! Battle number eight will proceed once we have cleaned up the mess that was made!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
Everyone were all watching as Hugh had lost the match.
"This is far too easy. I am a shoe-in for sure," Montgomery said. He and Throh both exit the battlefield. Stephan watches on.
"Now, I want to battle that guy more than ever," Stephan said.
A few minutes came and went as Trip and Conkeldurr came out to the battlefield.
"And now it is number eight of the Clubslosion Tournament first round! From Nuvema Town, we have a young man with great powers of observation, Trip and his Conkeldurr! And they'll be facing off against the beret wearing Bianca and her Emboar!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Emboar turned and sees Bianca isn't there. Trip and Conkeldurr were dumbfounded. "Huh? Now, where is Bianca?" And speak of the devil, Bianca comes running to the battlefield.
"Sorry I'm late! I was feeling Mienshao's muscles, which is why I'm so late!" Bianca exclaimed as she tripped on the ground.
The participants were embarrassed to watch, same as Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Angel, Meowth and the Pikachu.
"Man, this is embarrassing," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"How is she going to battle Trip in the state she's in?" Iris asked.
"Don't worry about Bianca, she's always to bounce back," Hilbert said.
Bianca gets back up on her feet and admires her opponent's Pokémon.
"Conkeldurr has some pretty big muscles! I'm such a fan!" Bianca said, rubbing some dirt off her face. "Alright, I'm ready, and serious about winning!"
"You're going to find that you're not going to win it that easily!" Trip said.
"Trainers begin!" The referee called out.
"I wanna go first! Emboar! Use Arm Thrust!" Bianca ordered. Emboar came right at Conkeldurr with Arm Thrust.
"Block it, Conkeldurr!" Trip called out. Conkeldurr uses its pillars to block the attack. Emboar thrusts its arms forward.
"It blocked Emboar!" Nate said.
"Those concrete pillars makes a good shield," Riku said.
"Vee," Eevee said.
"Now, Hammer Arm!" Bianca ordered. Emboar swings his arm at Conkeldurr.
"Intercept!" Trip called out.
Conkeldurr blocked with its pillars and pushes Emboar back.
"Flamethrower, go!" Bianca ordered. Emboar fires Flamethrower right at the muscular Pokémon.
It looked like that Conkeldurr is covered in flames, but it swings its pillars, extinguishing the flames.
"Conkeldurr extinguishes that Flamethrower!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Conkeldurr can't be touched with those concrete pillars," Don George added. "We'll have to see how Emboar deals with it all." boar pants from using from using Flamethrower.
"Emboar, don't give up!" Bianca called out to the mega fire pig Pokémon. He turned and nodded to Bianca, telling her that he's still in it to win it. Trip chuckled to himself.
"Now, Bulk Up!" Trip ordered. Conkeldurr flexes its muscles to increase its attack and defense.
"Conkeldurr's Bulk Up will increase its offense and defense dramatically! Get ready for a serious counterattack!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now, use Strength!" Trip ordered. Conkeldurr ran towards Emboar, carrying its concrete pillars.
"Wait, can Conkeldurr move with those?" Georgia asked.
"That's a new one por moi," Burgundy said.
"No! Emboar, jump!" Bianca called out. Emboar jumped, but Conkeldurr jumped as well and lands a hit with its pillars. Bianca gasped when Emboar went down.
"Emboar is down; but is it out or can it still keep going?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Emboar, get up, I know you can do it," Bianca said as Emboar stood back up.
"Now, let's finish this with Rock Tomb!" Trip ordered. Conkeldurr slams its pillars in the earth as Conkeldurr forms a large rock above its head and threw it. The rock breaks into small rocks, but big enough to surround the mega fire pig Pokémon.
"Use Arm Thrust to get out of there!" Bianca ordered. Emboar nodded as he used Arm Thrust on the rocks. Emboar was now tired from taking those hits.
"Emboar is running low on steam. Stone Edge!" Trip ordered. Conkeldurr unleashed Stone Edge right at Emboar, hoping to finish him off.
"Emboar, you can't lose! I believe in you! You can do it!" Bianca called out. Emboar braces himself for the stones coming towards him. The stones lands a hit, creating a dust cloud.
"Conkeldurr nails that Stone Edge!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That did some damage," Don George said, stroking his chin.
Trip was certain that he had won the battle as he gave off a smug grin. The dust cloud cleared to see Emboar still standing, and holding the stones in his arms. Trip and Conkeldurr were both surprised by what they saw.
"Huh?! No way!" Trip exclaimed.
"Emboar, you're fine!" Bianca cheered happily.
"Unbelievable! Emboar has caught the stones from the Stone Edge!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"It's obvious Emboar heard and responded to Bianca's passionate plea," Don George said.
"That was close," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"Amazing," Iris said with awe.
"What a blend. A unique and heartfelt bond that is truly second to none," Cilan said.
"Go for it, Emboar! Toss the stones back with Fling!" Bianca ordered. Emboar tossed the stones right at Conkeldurr.
"I had no idea Emboar could use Fling as well!" Trip exclaimed. "Build up your offense and bat them back!" Conkeldurr swings its pillars at the stones and sends them right back at the mega fire pig Pokémon.
"Emboar, take both of Conkeldurr's concrete pillars!" Bianca ordered. Conkeldurr was about to land a hit when it noticed both of its pillars gone. "Send them back using Fling!" Conkeldurr turns around in time for Emboar to throw them. Conkeldurr gets struck its own pillars. Conkeldurr was knocked out.
"Conkeldurr is unable to battle! Emboar wins! The winner is Bianca!" The referee announced.
"Bianca joins the winning eight trainers! Four more matches will be underway!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I have never seen Fling used that way before! It shows off Bianca's creativity," Don George said.
Trip calls back Conkeldurr and sighed as he frowned.
"I guess I still have a long way to go if I want to beat Alder," Trip said to himself. "The same for Dakim when I see him again." Trip takes a picture and takes his leave of the battlefield.
"Way to turn the tables, Bianca," Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"I thought that Trip almost had her that time," Meowth said.
"Maybe, but it was because Bianca's words reached him," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said.
"It's not over yet. We still have Hilbert and Cheren up next," Terra said.
A few minutes later, Hilbert and Cheren got ready to battle each other.
"Now it is time for battle number nine! We have Hilbert from Nuvema Town, and Cheren, also from Nuvema Town! Let's see how far these two will go!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Both will battle, but only one will be moving forward!" Don George said. Both Hilbert and Cheren looked at each other and nodded. Cheren smiled as he took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Scrafty!" Cheren called out. A Scrafty came out of its Pokéball. Hilbert took out his Pokéball and threw it.
"Go right in, Scolipede!" Hilbert called out. Scolipede came out to battle.
"Battle begin!" The referee called out.
"I'll make the first move. Scrafty! Fire Punch!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty heads right towards the megapede Pokémon with its fists emitting fire.
"Use Protect!" Hilbert ordered. Scrafty's Fire Punch onto the barrier. "Now, use Poison Tail!" Scolipede swings its tail right at Scraty, landing a hit.
"Scolipede makes the first hit with its Poison Tail!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That was great, Scolipede! Use your Steamroller!" Hilbert ordered. Scolipede comes right at Scrafty with a hard roll.
"Scolipede is heading right towards Scrafty with a real powerful Steamroller!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren grinned as Scolipede got closer.
"Detect!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty dodges Scolipede's Steamroller with Detect. "Now, use Zen Headbutt!" Scrafty lands a hit with a Zen Headbutt. "Fire Punch!" Scrafty gave Scolipede a fiery punch in the face.
"Cheren's Scrafty takes advantage of its weakness to Fire Type moves with its Fire Punch attack!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"It certainly does, but it looks like it'll take a lot more than that to take Scolipede down!" Don George announced.
"Scolipede! Steamroller again!" Hilbert ordered. Scolipede rolls right towards the hoodlum Pokémon.
"Detect and then Fire Punch!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty uses Detect to dodge and lands another Fire Punch onto Scolipede. "Now, use Zen Headbutt!" Scrafty lands a Headbutt onto Scolipede, landing a knockout.
"Scolipede is unable to battle! Scrafty wins! The winner is Cheren!" The referee announced.
"And Cheren is moving on in the second round! Three more battles remains until we reach the rounds conclusion!" Freddy O'Martian announced. As soon as the battle was over, Hilbert and Cheren takes their leave of the battlefield.
"That was a good battle, Cheren. You deserved to win," Hilbert said.
"Thanks. I would say the same of you had won," Cheren said. Hilbert smiled at the respect Cheren has given him.
After the battle between the two, Stephan and Edmund enters the battlefield.
"And now it's time for battle number ten, the muscle-bound Stephen and the Rainman, Edmund!"
Freddy O'Martian announced. Gray clouds forms in the sky and starts raining. "Edmund's not called the Rainman for nothing! Dark clouds are forming and it's raining right on cue!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Stephan took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Alright, get ready for Sawk!" Stephan called out. Sawk came on out to battle. Montgomery looked right at the karate Pokémon.
"It's a Sawk," Montgomery said.
"Come play in the rain, Seismitoad!" Edmund called out, throwing his Pokéball. Seismitoad came on out to battle.
"Now, trainers! Begin!" The referee called out.
"Our first move shall claim the win! Sawk! Karate Chop!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moved in to deliver a Karate Chop, but Seismitoad dodges it very fast. "It's fast!"
"How did Seismitoad dodge that move?" Ventus asked.
"Pika!" Sparky said.
"It's gotta be Swift Swim! A Pokémon with that ability can move a whole lot faster than normal while it's raining. It makes sense that he's called the rainman," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor added.
"Seismitoad! Use Drain Punch!" Edmund ordered.
"Dodge it, Sawk!" Stephan called out. Seismitoad came too fast for Sawk to dodge; the toad-like Pokémon lands a powerful hit onto the karate Pokémon. "Sawk no!" Sawk gets back up. "Use Low Sweep!" Sawk slides down to use Low Sweep.
"Keep it away! Use Mud Shot!" Edmund ordered. Seismitoad fires Mud Shot right at Sawk, and he lands a strong kick on one of Seismitoad's legs. Seismitoad bellowed from the pain. "Hang in there, Seismitoad! Brick Break, quickly!" Seismitoad lands a Brick Break onto Sawk.
"You can take it, Sawk!" Stephan called out. Sawk gets back up on his feet. "Now, use Karate Chop!"
"Dodge and use Brick Break!" Edmund ordered. Sawk and Seismitoad kept trying to land a hit, but not one of them was going to back down. Edmund quickly noticed how Seismitoad was slowing down. "Seismitoad, what's wrong? With your speed, you should be able to dodge everyone of those attacks." He looked right at Seismitoad's leg and he knew why Seismitoad was moving so slow. "The blow from that Low Sweep!"
"Thought you wouldn't notice! Use Bulk Up!" Stephan ordered. Sawk builds up his muscles to build up both offense and defense. "Use Close Combat!" Sawk gave Seismitoad a series of beatings with Close Combat. Sawk gave Seismitoad one more blow with Close Combat, and then turned his back. Seismitoad fell on its back.
"Seismitoad is unable to battle! Sawk wins! The winner is Stephen!" The referee announced as the crowd cheered. It has stopped raining and the sky clear up.
"And that means Stephen will be moving on to round two!" Freddy O'Martian announced. The crowd cheered for Stephen for his victory.
Stephan groaned, "Why does everyone keeps getting my name wrong!"
A few minutes later right after the battle between Stephan and Edmund, Benga and his opponent Delbert enters the battlefield with a Volcarona and a Mienshao ready to battle.
"And it now time for battle number eleven! On my left is Benga, while on my right is Delbert! Benga is the grandson of the Champion, Alder while facing the storm summoning Master Warrior Delbert!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Alder watches the battle as he grinned.
"This should be fun to watch," Alder said.
"Mienshao! Start off with Pound!" Delbert ordered. Mienshao comes right at Volcarona with Pound.
"Dodge and use Quiver Dance!" Benga ordered. Volcarona dances around to build up its speed, special attack, and special defense.
"Volcarona builds up its speed with a Quiver Dance!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"One thing's for certain, it'll be a whole lot harder for Mienshao to land a hit onto Volcarona!" Don George added.
"Not bad. I would expect nothing less from the Champion's grandson," Delbert said.
"You think that's something, then get a load of this! Fiery Dance!" Benga ordered. Volcarona is surrounded by flames and lands a hit onto Mienshao. "Now use Hurricane!" Volcarona flapped its wings and gave Mienshao a toss into the air.
"Mienshao has been taken in by that Hurricane!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Mienshao lands on its back beaten.
"Mienshao is unable to battle! Volcarona wins! The winner is Benga!" The referee announced.
"What an excellent battle from both of Benga and Delbert!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
The first round was close to closing, so it was anyone's guess on who will win the next one.
Elsewhere, the young man from Team Shadow was watching the Clubslosion ever since it started. As he watches on, he was hoping to see Sora lose, but at the same time, he wanted Sora to win.
"Sora, Ketchum. A descendant of Zest, the knight who disgraced Garland. I had a feeling that I was going to see him compete. Your existence in this world is unforgivable! Garland was the greatest knight in history, and your ancestor Zest destroyed him! I will return the favor by destroying you and erasing the Ketchum bloodline from this world," the young man said. "And I will do it even I have it takes me many years!"
The young man slammed his fist on the chair he was sitting as he grits his teeth.
(Flashback)
The young man reads the documentaries he recently found in the attic. It turns out to be journals of Garland. He was thrilled to see them with his own eyes.
My life as a knight has begun! After years of patience and training, I am now officially a knight of Cornelia! I was only a child when I first began my training as a knight; a child at the age of twelve. I could not believe that I was chosen to be a squire. And I could not believe that my dream of becoming a real knight is now a reality.
He reads the next journal.
This is a joyous day!
The queen has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, and the kingdom is full of joy! I have never seen so much smiling faces in all my years! An heir to the throne has been born and our future is secured!
He begins to read the third journal.
Today, we have taken in a new squire. The new squire says that his name is Zest, and I must say that he is the youngest squire we had ever taken under our wing. But observing this boy, I could see that he shows such real promise. Perhaps when he is older, we can teach him some combat skills.
He reads the next journal, written years later.
Just today, me and my men had just returned home after driving out a band of pirates. For several weeks, they have been terrorizing the citizens of the town. They caused random acts of destruction. They killed some of the men fighting back and raped a few women. The cowardly bastards! Before more innocent blood could be shed, we managed to drive them out, and the spineless sea rats retreated to their ship. They have made a grave mistake coming here.
The read some more of the journals.
Today is a truly unexpected day. A strange man has come up to me and he has shared with me something interesting. He has not spoken his name, but he had stated that I am suited to be a king. It was odd to picture myself as an absolute ruler, but as he spoke, I have listened. It was like he was looking right into my very soul.
A few days have passed since I have met the strange man. And now I know the truth. The truth that a knight should not have any equals! He should have power to rule over all the people and wipe out any who would oppose! The problem is the so-called king is sitting on his ass and guzzle down wine like a Beautifly drinking sap while sitting in a throne that is mine! I will have the kingdom and take out anyone who would interfere!
My plot has been discovered and I have been banished. He was a fool to let me live, but I will not give up so easily! I shall return and take what is mine!
My time for revenge has come. I have given that bleeding heart king a chance to hand his kingdom over to me. What a fool. He does not realize that I intend to kill them both and take the throne for myself! And then, the kingdom of Cornelia will learn to fear me!
I was so close to achieving my victory, and it was the knight who helped with my banishment, Zest! I should have known he was going to be such a threat to me! Because of him, I can no longer show my face to the world! I hope to any of my descendants who reads this, that they shall end the bloodline of Zest Ketchum! I do not care if it is his sons or his grandchildren, but I will not rest until the Ketchum bloodline has been erased from the world!
The young man was angered by what he had read. Garland's glory was cut short by a squire that was taken in by the age of eight.
"Ketchum," the young man sneered. "Don't worry, Garland. I will not let you down. I will do whatever I can to put an end to the Ketchum family, even if I have to sell my soul to the devil himself!"

The young man joins Team Shadow and pledges his loyalty to Mateus and to the darkness he represents.
(Flashback ends)
"I could care less about what happens to the world. Ever since I learned your name, I thought about nothing but to restore the honor that Garland has lost because of your ancestor!" The young man vowed.
Back at the Clubsplosion, Cindy had just bested Jake by using her Darmanitan against Jake's Stoutland.
"Stoutland is unable to battle! Darmanitan wins! The victory goes to Cindy!" The referee announced.
"And Cindy makes twelve to progress even farther, and this concludes the first round of the Clubslosion! Don George has this to say!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Don George steps into the center.
"Trainers, you have battled hard today, and your hard work has paid off! The second round shall begin tomorrow, so get some rest and heal your Pokémon at the Pokémon Center!" Don George called out.
Over to the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy hands the Pokéball containing Conkeldurr back to Trip.
"Your Conkeldurr is now fighting fit," Nurse Joy said with a smile. Trip takes the Pokéball.
"Thanks, Nurse Joy. He looked right at Sora and Riku as they approach him.
"So, you're taking off just like that, huh?" Sora asked.
"There's no point in sticking around since the tournament is over for me. I'll just have to work even harder if I'm going to battle Alder," Trip said.
Sora remembered how Paul battled against Cynthia and lost to her without losing a single Pokémon. Sora had only been able to take down her Garchomp, but even with a Type advantage, he still lost to her.
Without saying another word, Trip took his leave. Sora and Riku rejoined their friends with their girlfriends and partners waiting for them. Kairi and Naminé planted kisses on the lips of Sora and Riku, who kissed them back.
"Those were great battles, you two," Stephan said.
"Thanks, Stephan. Congratulations on winning that battle against the Rainman," Sora said.
"Glad you're getting my name right, Sora, and thanks. I was thinking the same thing," Stephan said. "But I am planning on winning the whole thing."
"You winning the Clubsplosion?" A familiar voice asked. "That's a laugh." They all turned to see Montgomery.
"I know you, you're Montgomery," Riku said.
"The one who is going to win the Clubsplosion will be me. I have already won the previous tournaments a few years back, and I plan on defending my title," Montgomery said.
"You will have to make it through your next opponent to make that happen," Sora said.
"I intend to," Montgomery said. "Not one of you will make it pass the second round."
"I did before, and this tournament is not going to be an exception," Sora said.
"That remains to be seen," Montgomery said, taking his leave. Iris puffed up her cheeks.
"What's her deal?" Iris asked.
"Don't let it get to you, Iris. Whoever faces him will be making him eat those words," Riku said.
"Agreed. Throh is a powerful opponent to deal with," Cilan said. "We will have to do our best against him."
At another table, Burgundy and Georgia pouted as they knew they won't make it to the next round of the tournament.
"I hope they all lose," Georgia and Burgundy both said in a pout.
The tournament's first round has concluded, so the second round is sure to be more interesting. Who will be facing off who in the next round, and who will be the one to eliminate Montgomery in the next round? And what sort of evil plan does the descendant of Garland have in store for Sora? That answer will come later on, but answers relating to the Clubsplosion Tournament will pop up in the next round!
