Episode 465: The Clubsplosion Part 3
Where we last left off, Hugh had battled Montgomery, but he had failed to defeat him as well as Benga, Cheren, Stephan, and a trainer named Cindy makes it on through with Sora, Riku, Bianca, Cilan, Iris, Rydia, and another trainer named Betty.
After the first half has concluded, Trip took his leave of Ambiga Town to continue on his own journey, but at the same time, he was still hurting from Dakim's assault.
We are now at the start of the second round of the Clubslosion Tournament as Sora, Riku, Cheren, Bianca, Cilan, Iris, Benga, Stephan, Montgomery, Betty, Rydia, and Cindy waits to see whom will be against who.
"Welcome back to the Clubslosion Tournament! We had a series of hard battles here and only twelve has made it through, and we will find out which ones will be making it through!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That is what we are about to find out! Trainers, give it everything you have and be sure to give us a good show," Don George said.
"And now to see who will be facing off against who!" Freddy O'Martian announced. The computer goes off as the twelve trainers are being selected to battle. The computer makes its stop as it chooses whom shall be against whom. Stephan and Montgomery will be facing each other on the first round. Riku will be battling Cilan, Iris will be against Rydia, Sora will be against Betty, Benga will be facing Bianca, and Cheren will be facing Cindy. "And here they all are! Number one will be Stephen versus Montgomery!"
"It's Stephan!" Stephan said.
"Battle number two will be Riku and Cilan! Number three will be Iris and Rydia. Battle number four will be Sora against Betty! Facing off in number five is Benga and Bianca! And battle number six will be Cheren and Cindy!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Iris was surprised that she was facing off against Rydia in the second round. She remembered seeing the battle between her and Georgia very well, and how strong that Goodra is. Stephan grinned as Montgomery smirked.
"It looks like I'm getting what I want at the start!" Stephan said.
"You should be careful with what you want," Montgomery said.
"This should be an enjoyable battle," Cilan said.
"It should be," Riku agreed.
"I can't believe I'm going up against the trainer who beat Georgia!" Iris said.
Betty looked right at Sora and smirked.
"You may have beaten my brother, but you won't beat me," Betty said.
The battle between Stephan and Montgomery was about to begin. Stephan had been training hard for this battle, no matter if it was under a scorching sun, heaviest winds and rains, or the baddest blizzards, Stephan had to hope his hard work has paid off.
"This battle couldn't have come any sooner! On our left, we have the master of karate and the blue lighting, Sawk along with Stephen! And up against Sawk is the Red Terror and the master of judo, Throh!" Don George announced.
"This should be an interesting battle," Aqua said.
"Pikachu," Eclair said.
"I can just feel the rivalry between Sawk and Throh," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Well Sawk and Throh are are real heavy hitters of martial arts, so the way I see it, this could go either way," Terra said.
"Pika," Thor said.
"Much like Hitmonchan being an ace at punching, Hitmonlee being an ace at kicking, and Hitmontop being an ace at spinning," Ventus pointed out.
"That's right, Ven," Kairi said.
"Stephen should be able to match up against Monty if he keeps his cool," Meowth said.
"Trainers, begin!" The referee called out.
"Sawk! Use Low Sweep!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moved in with a kick.
"Use Circle Throw!" Montgomery ordered. Throh waited for Sawk to get close enough and gave the karate Pokémon a toss.
"Sawk, drop and roll!" Stephan called out. Sawk rolled and stood on his feet.
"By rolling with that Circle Throw, Sawk didn't take that much damage at all," Don George said.
"Sawk! Karate Chop!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moved in to deliver a Karate Chop right at the judo Pokémon.
"Throh, catch it!" Montgomery ordered. Throh caught Throh's Karate Chop.
"Throh catches Sawk's Karate Chop!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Circle Throw!" Montgomery ordered. Throh gave Sawk another throw.
"Drop and roll again!" Stephan called out. Sawk does another roll and gets right on his feet. Throh gets behind Sawk.
"Now, use Bind!" Montgomery ordered. Throh grabs Sawk from behind and holds him tight.
"And Throh unleashes Bind!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sawk struggles to get loose, but Throh's grip was too much for him.
"It's not going to be easy for Sawk to get out of that!" Don George announced.
"Try to get loose!" Stephan called out. He thought of what to do and he got it. "That's it! Sawk! Use Bulk Up!" Sawk's muscles builds up, loosening Throh's hold over Sawk. "Use Close Combat!" Sawk began to give Throh a series of beatings and then a toss.
"Sawk escapes from Throh's Bind by using Close Combat!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That wouldn't be possible without using Bulk Up first," Don George said.
"Low Sweep, let's go!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moved in to give Throh a low kick. Sawk lands a successful kick on one of Throh's legs.
"And Sawk counterattacks with a Low Sweep!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Throh grabs Sawk with both of his arms and starts squeezing him. "And it looks like Throh catches Sawk with Bind once again!"
"Toss Sawk with Superpower!" Montgomery ordered. Throh gave Sawk a toss with Superpower. Sawk rolls out of the way when Throh tries to stomp on him. The crowd cheers hard for the battle going on between them.
"And fans are going super-wild in this heated battle!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Beautiful! I'm at a loss for words!" Don George announced as he tried to hold back some tears.
"Keep it up, Stephan," Sora said.
"I'm psyched just by watching," Iris said.
"Sawk! Use Bulk Up!" Stephan ordered. Sawk starts to build up his muscles.
"Use Seismic Toss!" Montgomery ordered. Throh grabs Sawk and jumps in the air.
"This doesn't look good," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"If Seismic Toss lands a hit, it'll be all over for Sawk," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Break away!" Stephan called out. Sawk broke out of Throh's hold once again.
"Sawk escapes Seismic Toss's grip!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
Both Fighting Type Pokémon hit the ground hard.
"Sawk, get up!" Stephan called out.
"On your feet, Throh!" Montgomery called out. Sawk and Throh struggles to get up on their feet to continue the battle. Throh gets up first. "Before Sawk gets back up, use Bind!" Throh walks towards Sawk.
"Sawk will get caught in Throh's Bind if he doesn't move now!" Hilbert said.
"Close Combat!" Stephan ordered. Sawk gave Throh a series of beatings when Throh was close enough.
"Oh no!" Montgomery exclaimed.
"Oh yes!" Stephan countered.
"Sawk's Close Combat scores a powerful hit!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Even though Sawk was facing away from its opponent, its attack was still effective!" Don George said.
"Okay, Throh, focus!" Montgomery said. Throh heads right towards Sawk. The karate Pokémon bows to his opponent and walks in the opposite direction.
"I don't believe it! For some reason, Sawk's just walking off!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Don George sat in his seat with his arms crossed.
"That's because it knows the battle's over!" Don George announced. Throh fell on the ground, much to Montgomery's dismay.
Throh is unable to battle! Sawk wins! The winner is Stephen!" The referee announced.
"We did it, Sawk!" Stephan cheered before he frowned. "But he still got my name wrong."
"And Stephen has won the first match of the second round!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Montgomery calls back his Throh.
"I can see now that it takes more than brute strength to win battles. It also takes skill and cunning," Montgomery said. He walked up to Stephan. "We will battle again. But for now, enjoy your victory." Stephan smiled as he shook his hand.
"Thanks, Montgomery. And when we do battle again, I will win again!" Stephan said. Montgomery smirked.
"We shall see," Montgomery said.
With that settled, Riku and Cilan got into the battlefield for their battle.
"The second battle of the second round is about to begin! From the Striaton City and an expert Grass Type Pokémon trainer, he's proud as his role as Pokémon Connisseur and Gym Leader, time will tell if one role outshines the other! We have the Green Warrior Cilan!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Cilan and Pansage took their bow.
"What an entrance," Nate said.
"Cilan, we're rooting for you!" Iris called out.
"Axew!" Axew added.
"You fake! I hope you lose you poor excuse for a Connisseur!" Burgundy called out. Riku and Lampent both enter the battlefield together.
"And entering the battlefield, accompanied by Lampent, hailing from the Alola region, the silver haired warrior known as Riku!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"This should be interesting to watch," Cheren said.
"It would be seriously be funny to watch him lose like the loser that he is," Burgundy said.
Lampent gets on the battlefield as did Pansage.
"Now, trainers begin!" The referee called out.
"Pansage! Bullet!" Cilan ordered. Pansage unleashed a barrage of Bullet Seed right at Lampent.
"Block it with Psychic!" Riku ordered. Lampent uses Psychic to block Pansage's Bullet Seed.
"Lampent blocks Pansage's Bullet Seed with its Psychic!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Okay, use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Lampent unleashes Shadow Ball right at the grass monkey Pokémon.
"Dig!" Cilan ordered. Pansage dodges by using Dig to avoid Lampent's attack.
"That was a close call for Pansage! It uses Dig to dodge Lampent's Shadow Ball!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Pansage jumps out and lands a hit onto the lamp Pokémon.
"Lapment has taken some serious damage from that Dig! Good thinking of teaching Dig to Pansage to counter Fire Type Pokémon!" Don George announced.
"Not bad, Cilan," Riku complimented.
"I thank you, Riku. And he is another taste of Pansage's power. Use Rock Tomb!" Cilan ordered. Pansage uses Rock Tomb right at the lamp Pokémon to land a hit.
"Dodge it, quickly!" Riku called out. Lampent moved, but got hit by Pansage's Rock Tomb.
"That was a super-effective hit! When Rock Tomb lands a hit, Lampent's speed gets cut!" Don Geroge said.
"Now, use Solar Beam!" Cilan ordered. Pansage builds up to fire Solar Beam.
"Pansage is getting ready to unleash Solar Beam!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Solar Beam takes sunlight to build up! I have to act quick! Lampent! Use Flamethrower!" Riku ordered. Lampent unleashed Flamethrower just when Pansage fires Solar Beam. The two attacks collides with each other, resulting in an explosion. The smoke cleared to see Lampent and Pansage still standing.
"Outstanding! Both Pansage and Lampent are both still standing from those attacks they launched at each other!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Alright, it's evaluation time!" Cilan proclaimed.
"Lampent! Use Flame Burst!" Riku ordered. Lamlent unleashed Flame Burst right at Pansage, landing a hit.
"Ooh! It looks like Riku has no interest in Cilan's evaluation time!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Yay! We were sparred from Cilan's boring evaluation time!" Iris cheered.
"I take it that Riku's not into evaluations from Pokémon Connisseur's, is he?" Karen asked.
"Chu," Blossom said.
"No. Riku's bond with his Pokémon is just as good as ever," Naminé said.
"Azu," Azurill chirped.
"Okay Lampent! Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Lampent fired Shadow Ball right at Pansage, but he dodges Shadow Ball.
"Pansage! Rock Tomb!" Cilan ordered. Pansage forms a huge rock and hurls it right at Lampent.
"No you don't! Lampent! Use Psychic!" Riku ordered. Lampent uses Psychic to block Rock Tomb before it could reach Lampent.
"Lampent blocks out Pansage's Rock Tomb with its Psychic!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Riku realized that dodging wasn't going to cut it because if its reduced speed! Riku is as resourceful as it looks!" Don George said.
"Okay Lampent! One more Flame Burst and make it count!" Riku ordered. Lampent unleashed Flame Burst and it lands another hit onto Pansage before Cilan could call a command.
"Pansage! Use Dig!" Cilan ordered.
"No you don't! Psychic!" Riku ordered. Lampent uses Psychic to lift up Pansage before he could start digging. Pansage is slammed on the ground hard. "Wrap it up with Flamethrower!" Lampent fires Flamethrower right at Pansage, finishing him off.
"Pansage is unable to battle! Lampent wins! The winner is Riku!" The referee announced.
"Riku is second to win round two!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"It looks like even a Gym Leader of the Striaton City Gym was a match for Riku's battling skills!" Don George said. Riku walked right up to Cilan and shook his hand.
"That was a great battle, Cilan. The way you battled is why you're a Gym Leader," Riku said.
"Thank you, Riku. And I can see why Sora respects you so much. I have gained a new form of respect for you," Cilan said.
Burgundy grits her teeth in anger and frustration.
"Ooh, that nice guy act is really pissing me off!" Burgundy exclaimed.
"Can't she just let it go?" Nate sighed to himself.
"Say Iris, isn't your match up next?" Hilbert asked.
"It is," Iris said, looking at Rydia. She looked right back at Iris and smiled at her. Iris felt nervous, but she was determined to win it. Georgia was still peeved about losing to Rydia in her battle.
A few minutes later, Iris and Druddigon both entered the battlefield, ready to go.
"And now it's time for our next battle! On my left, joining us from the Village of Dragons, and an inspiring Dragon Master, we have Iris!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Iris and Druddigon took their positions.
"Do they have to keep on saying that about her just because she has a Dragon Type?!" Georgia exclaimed.
"And joining us here today, we have another user of Dragons, Rydia!" Freddy O'Martian announced as she and Goodra both entered the battlefield at the same time.
"The both of them are using Dragon Type Pokémon," Karen pointed out. "It's going to be very hard for the both of them since Dragon Types are weak against their own moves."
"You're right, Karen. I think Iris knows it as much as Rydia does," Terra said.
"You think it's gonna go either way like with Throh and Sawk?" Meowth asked.
"We're about to find out," Kairi said.
"Trainers, begin!" The referee announced.
"Druddigon! Start up with Dragon Claw!" Iris ordered. Druddigon charges right at Goodra.
"Okay, Goodra! Dodge and use your Aqua Tail!" Rydia ordered. Goodra blocks Druddigon's Claw with its tail emitting water.
"Goodra makes a good start by blocking Druddigon's Dragon Claw with Aqua Tail!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That would have done loads of damage if Dragon Claw has landed a successful hit since it has a weakness to Dragon Type moves," Don George said.
"Goodra! Use Body Press!" Rydia ordered. Goodra heads right towards Druddigon with its body.
"Druddigon! Use Dig!" Iris ordered. Druddigon dodges Goodra's attack with Dig. Druddigon came on out and lands a hit onto Goodra.
"A sure clean with with Dig!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now use Metal Claw!" Iris ordered. Druddigon came right at Goodra with Metal Claw.
"Dodge and use Giga Impact!" Rydia ordered. Goodra avoids Druddigon's Metal Claw and then came right at Druddigon with Giga Impact and lands a heavy hit into Druddigon. The cave Pokémon lands on his side and struggles to get back up.
"That was a devastating blow from Giga Impact!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Giga Impact is a powerful move, but like Hyper Beam, the user cannot attack again right away!" Don George announced.
"Druddigon! Use Dragon Claw!" Iris ordered. Druddigon heads right towards Goodra to land a hit. Druddigon lands a successful hit before Goodra could dodge.
"Okay, Goodra! Dragon Pulse!" Rydia ordered. Goodra sends out Dragon Pulse and lands a heavy hit onto Druddigon, dealing some major damage.
"Druddigon has taken a lot of damage from that Dragon Pulse! Can Druddigon keep going?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Druddigon was still on his feet and he took a step forward. Druddigon then fell on the ground beaten.
"Druddigon is unable to battle! Goodra wins! Rydia is the winner!" The referee announced.
"And here you have it! Iris has been eliminated from the tournament as Rydia is now moving on forward!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
The next battle was up next as Sora took out Pignite's Pokéball and opened it. Pignite came on out.
"You ready to go, Pignite?" Sora asked.
"Pig, Pignite," Pignite nodded.
A few minutes later, Betty and Simipour entered the battlefield. The young man watches the event on TV, hoping for Sora to lose the battle.
"This trainer and her two brothers are famous throughout the Unova region for their wild antics! Only she has made it through to the second round! Presenting Wild Girl Betty!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Betty blew a kiss to the crowd.
"Alright! Go get him, Betty!" Angus and Getty both cheered. Sora and Pignite enters the battlefield.
"Coming in to oppose Betty is the Champion of the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh Pokémon Leagues! He came all the way from Pallet Town in the Kanto region! He has a total of seven Gym Badges under his belt with the intention of entering the Unova Pokémon League, we have Sora 'Kingdom Hearts' Ketchum!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"After seeing that Pignite, this is going to be easy," Betty said.
"Be ready, Pignite," Sora said.
"Trainer, begin the battle!" The referee called out.
"One move! Aqua Tail!" Betty ordered. Simipour came right at the fire pig Pokémon with Aqua Tail.
"You think it's going to be easy? Think again! Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Pignite blocks Simipour's attack with Power-Up Punch, powering up Pignite's attack.
"Pignite and Simipour are equal when it comes to power! Neither one of them is backing down!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That was great, Pignite!" Sora said.
"They're even better than I thought," Betty said. "Use Brick Break!" Simipour went running towards Pignite.
"Without missing a beat, Simipour is off and running!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Flame Charge to dodge!" Sora ordered. Pignite used Flame Charge to dodge Simipour's Brick Break. This builds up Pignite's speed. "Okay, use Power-Up Punch!" Pignite lands a punch onto Simipour's face. "That was great, Pignite!"
"Take her down, Sora! Don't give her an inch!" Kairi, Karen, and Ventus all shouted.
"Pika!" Sparky and Blossom both said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Hurry up and finish this with Acrobatics!" Betty ordered. Simipour lands some hits with Acrobatics.
"Talking about an Acrobatics with style!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Not to mention it has precise execution!" Don George said.
"Okay, Pignite! Our turn! Flame Charge!" Sora ordered. Pignite lands a hit with Flame Charge, building up Pignite's speed once again.
"That was an affective Flame Charge!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Remember, this builds up Pignite's speed each time it is used!" Don George added.
"Fire Pledge!" Sora ordered. Pignite slams his fist on the ground as pillars of fire appear from all around and engulfs Simipour in the flames.
"No way!" Betty exclaimed.
Simipour is down and out.
"Simipour is unable to battle! Pignite wins! Sora is the winner!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, big brother!" Karen cheered.
"Pika, Pika!" Blossom added.
"I knew you would win, Sora!" Kairi cheered.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"And now it's battle number five, it's Benga, the grandson of Champion Alder along with Volcarona, and the ever smiling Bianca with her partner, Emboar!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"This is going to be a red-hot battle," Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"Battle begin!" The referee called out.
"Okay, Volcarona! Start things up with Fiery Dance!" Benga ordered. Volcarona heads right towards Emboar.
"Use Hammer Arm!" Bianca ordered. Emboar heads right towards the sun Pokémon and both collide with one another. It resulted in an explosion as both Pokémon were panting.
"Both Emboar and Volcarona aren't backing down one bit!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Emboar! Flamethrower!" Bianca ordered. Emboar unleashed Flamethrower right at the moth-like Pokémon.
"Hurricane!" Benga ordered. Volcarona unleashed Hurricane, canceling out Emboar's Flamethrower, and it lands a hit onto Emboar. "Now use Heat Wave!" Volcarona unleashed Heat Wave right at Emboar, resulting in a knockout.
"Emboar is unable to battle! Volcarona wins! Benga wins!" The referee announced. Bianca cried as she had lost.
"Oh, I was hoping to win it!" Bianca cried.
"Benga makes number five in the winner's circle!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
It is now time for the final match of the day! Let's have them come out!" Don Geroge said as Cheren and Cindy both came out with the Pokémon that they have chosen.
"Darmanitan! Use Fire Punch!" Cindy ordered. Darmanitan came right at Scrafty with Fire Punch.
"Detect!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty uses Detect to dodge Darmanitan's attack. "Now use Zen Headbutt!" Scrafty came at Darmanitan and lands a hit onto Darmanitan. "Now use Fire Punch!" Scrafty lands a hit onto Darmanitan.
"Scrafty makes a series of merciless blows onto its opponent!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Body Press!" Cindy ordered.
"Detect and then Dark Pulse!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty uses Detect once again to dodge Darmanitan's attack. The hoodlum Pokémon then lands a hit with Dark Pulse. Darmanitan changed into its Zen Mode.
"Darmanitan has changed into its Zen Form!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That means Darmanitan's energy is pretty low from those attacks!" Don George said.
"Dark Pulse!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty unleashed Dark Pulse and lands a hit onto Darmanitan, resulting in a knockout.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle! Scrafty wins! The winner is Cheren!" The referee announced.
"Aw, shoot! I would have had him!" Cindy exclaimed.
"And now Cheren makes six in the series of battles! Don George has this to say!" Freddy O'Martian announced. He stepped up and made this announcement.
"Trainers, we are now down to six trainers remaining, so there will be an additional battle! The first trainers to win the first battle will be battling each other to even it up! Once we are down to two trainers remaining, then we shall proceed with the final battle! Trainers, I suggest that you all rest up and heal your Pokémon in the Pokémon Center to rebuild their energy! We will resume with the tournament tomorrow!" Don George announced. "And here are the matchups!" It turns out that Sora will be first, and he'll be battling Cheren . The next one is Riku against Stephan, and the next one is Benga against Rydia. Sora, Riku, Rydia, Benga, Cheren, and Stephan all looked at each other and silently wished each other luck.
After the second round had finished, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom were out as Pignite was sparring with Gurdurr, Amoongus, Eelektrik, and Blitzle for the upcoming battle.
"That's great, Pignite!" Sora said. "Keep it up!" Sora said.
"You're going to do fine, big brother," Karen said.
"Pi, Pika," Blossom said.
"Yeah," Sora said. "Riku, Stephan, Benga, Cheren, and Rydia are big contenders, and they aren't going to be pulling any punches with me," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"I know, Sora. Just know that we'll be supporting you all the way," Kairi said, giving her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. That made Sora blush. Just then, a Larvesta came on out as Pikachu spots the torch Pokémon.
"Chu!" Pikachu said, pointing to Larvesta.
"A Larvesta!" Sora said. The Larvesta attacks with Ember.
"He's using Ember!" Kairi said.
"Pikachu! Go get him!" Sora said. Pikachu went to battle Larvesta. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, but Larvesta dodges and then sends out String Shot. "Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Pikachu avoids Larvesta's String Shot and swings his tail right at Larvesta, landing a hit. "Now use Quick Attack!" Pikachu lands a hit onto Larvesta. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. Larvesta flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Larvesta with him. He chose to send Larvesta to Professor Oak's lab. "Done."
"Couldn't you have used Pignite?" Karen asked.
"Gotta have Pignite ready for the battle coming up, so I have to keep him on his toes," Sora told his sister.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Chu," Blossom said, raising his arm. Pikachu blushed at the gesture. Angel did the same thing with Pikachu's other arm.
"Vee!" Angel said.
Now that the second round has concluded, they knew that the next part was going to be intensed! And once it is down to two, which two will be facing off and who will win it? That will come up in the next chapter, so stay tuned!
