Episode 470: Pokémon: Half-Shell Heroes Part 3
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, the Ninja Turtles, April, Casey, and Irma arrived to the abandoned building, making certain that no one was around.
The group walked up to the mutant rat as he sat and meditated. He opened his eyes and sees the group before them.
"Master Splinter, right?" Sora asked.
Splinter didn't answer him and he looked right at the oldest Ninja Turtle.
"Leonardo. Explain," Splinter said.
"Master Splinter, they are alleys. Two of them we have met before," Leo said. Splinter looked right at Sora.
"I see," Splinter said. "You aided my sons before, am I right?"
"Yes sir," Sora answered.
"I hope you understand that I am skeptical to your presence here, but as a grateful father, you have my thanks," Splinter said. He bowed his head in respect. Sora did the same thing.
"I was going to thank you as well, Master Splinter," Sora said. "Because they helped us out before." Sora raised his head. "Why is Shredder working with Kraang?"
"The Shredder had made a deal with Kraang, because they share a common enemy; us," Splinter said. "Because of this unholy alliance, Shredder has made himself more powerful in the criminal underworld. Many will suffer under his heel if he is not stopped."
"Why does Shredder hate you so much?" Ventus asked.
"The story I am goes so much deeper than a simple rivalry with me and my family," Splinter started. "Many years ago, I lived in Japan. I was kept as a pet of Hamato Yoshi. Mimicking his movements from my cage, I have learned the secret art of ninjutsu. He was one of Japan's finest ninjas in modern times. My master had only one rival; a man named Oroku Saki. Ever since they were children, they have competed in many things. They were more than rivals in their youth; they were friends and brothers. That was until they have met a woman named Tang Shen. Her love was only for my master. Saki's jealousy then turned into bitter hatred. Forcefully, Saki had taken over the Foot Clan, and named himself the Shredder. The two of them fought each other, resulting in Shredder's defeat. Shredder vowed revenge. He swore that everything that my master has, and everything he love will be his. He and Tang Shen had fled to America. I knew that my master will face him again. Years later, Shredder eventually found him in New York, intending to steal what he loved like Shredder vowed. My master fought well, but Shredder has gained the upper hand. In the melee that transpired, my cage was smashed. Shredder moved in to deliver the final blow when Tang Shen sacrificed herself to save him. Saki was enraged, so he made a second attempt. I leapt onto Shredder's face, biting and scratching his face. He took me and threw me out the window. I grabbed onto the window's ledge, then I looked inside only to witness my beloved master die by Shredder's hands. Then he was gone, and I was alone."
The group were stunned to hear the story that Splinter had told them.
"How awful," Kairi could only say.
"And you met the turtles and got mutated not long after that," Sora pointed out.
"Yes," Splinter said. "To answer your question, the Shredder wants to destroy the memory of Hamato Yoshi, and everything he stood for. Ever since then, Shredder has led the Foot Clan into a dark path. When Shredder learned of our existence, he has dedicated himself in killing us. He believes by wiping us out, he can be free from his past."
"All of that over a woman," Cilan said. "Hatred is bitter poison."
"Indeed. And I fear Shredder will spread it all over this world if we do not stop him, and soon," Splinter said.
"I just had a thought," Terra said. Everyone all looked right at him.
"What?" Sora asked.
"What if it drew some unwanted attention. I can guess who might be drawn into this," Terra said.
"Like either Team Plasma or Team Shadow," Aqua said.
"Team Plasma?" April asked.
"Team Shadow?" Irma asked.
"Those are bad guys. We've been dealing with them for a while," Sora explained. "Team Plasma is working on Pokémon liberation, but the truth is, they're just causing trouble for everyone."
"Come to think of it, we did with some of those dudes," Mikey said.
"So, that was your handy work," Sora said.
"Yeah, we were looking for our friends before we could look for Shredder and Kraang," Leo said.
"And what of this Team Shadow you spoke of," Splinter said.
"We don't know much about them, but they said they want to cover the world in eternal darkness," Sora said.
"Cover the world in eternal darkness?" Donnie asked.
"Must be part cockroach," Casey said.
"We don't know how they're going to do it, but those guys aren't to be underestimated," Terra said.
"We dealt with some of them," Kairi said. "A guy calling himself, Miror B, along with a woman calling herself Lovrina, and just recently, a man calling himself Dakim."
"Even if Team Shadow are here, there could be a huge chance that they'll be here somewhere, and they'll target us again as soon as we show up; wherever they are," Aqua said.
"We don't want to put you in harm's way, Sora. Shredder and the Foot will not show you any mercy," Leo said.
"I know, but we've been through a lot since we dealt with Guzzlord in Earthland. Apart from taking down Team Rocket, Team Magma, Team Aqua, Team Galactic, Pokémon Hunter J, Myotismon, AxeKnightmon, and the Brotherhood of Darkness, the Foot, Team Plasma, and Team Shadow are on the same level. And if our enemies are working together, then we should work together, too," Sora said.
"An alliance between Team Shadow and the Foot is a recipe for catastrophe," Cilan said.
"But our alliance will be spicy," Iris said.
"Axew," Axew said.
"Donnie, you think you can try to track down the Technodrome?" Karen asked.
"The Technodrome has an energy reading, and that energy should be noticeable like wild fire. I just have to get my tracker working again," Donnie said, adjusting his device. "Got it! The Technodrome is just somewhere in this mountain region." Cilan recognized the mountain.
"It's Twist Mountain. And it's just outside of town," Cilan said.
"Since we were heading there anyway, that's where we'll check out. And if Team Shadow, Team Plasma, or the Foot takes us there, then we'll take them, too," Kairi said.
"Alright, let's get down tonight!" Mikey exclaimed.
With that said, Sora thought he should make some modifications to his team. He exchanged his entire team for Durant, Heatmor, Bouffalant, Sigilyph, and Excadrill as Kairi has exchanged Vullabye and Whimsicott for her Unfezant and Gothorita. Unknown to the group, Zoura followed them even further and then started to follow them again.
Sora and Kairi got on Bouffalant as the bash buffalo Pokémon rode on as the rest of the group followed them towards Twist Mountain. This draws the attention of a Solosis, and it shows interest. It starts to follow them as did Zoura.
On Twist Mountain, a Druddigon that seems to be a little larger than Iris's Druddigon and slightly aggressive wonders around the mountain, and it spots Bebop and Rocksteady.
"Say, Rock, you think we might run into those turtles here?" Bebop asked.
"I dunno. Shredder said to keep a look out just in case they show up," Rocksteady said.
"Oh snap! I hope those turtles are here, because we have a score with those freaks!" Bebop said. He sniffed the air. "Hold up."
"What? The turtles?" Rocksteady asked.
"No, it's something else. I don't know what it is, but it smells close," Bebop said. Just then, the Druddigon attacked the mutant rhino and warthog. "A dragon!"
"Let's slay it!" Rocksteady shouted as he shouted right at the cave Pokémon. Druddigon grabbed him by the horn and threw him down. "I got slayed instead."
"I got you covered, rock!" Bebop said, taking out a machine gun. He was about to fire when Druddidon slashed right at the mutant warthog with Dragon Claw, and then followed up with Dragon Tail. Druddigon then came at Bebop with Fire Fang. Druddigon grabbed Bebop with his fiery bite. "Hot-hot-hot! Now I know what being a pork roast feels like!" Druddigon was about to attack with another Fire Fang when Karai let out a battle cry. She drew out her swords, but Druddigon smacked her with Dragon Tail. She got back up and sees the dragonish Pokémon charging right at her. Karai took out a smoke bomb and threw it right at Druddigon, blinding it. She jumped and gave the cave Pokémon a kick, knocking it out. She turned to the two mutants.
"Figured that you idiots would have some trouble," Karai said. Many of the Foot ninjas came along to the unconscious Druddigon. "Take this creature inside the Technodrome; give it to Stockman."
"Yes, Mistress Karai," one of the Foot ninjas said. The ninjas threw a net onto the cave Pokémon, and brought it inside.
Inside the Technodrome, Rydia is in a cell as she sees the mutants across from her. Shredder and Golbez approach the cell.
"And who is this woman?" Shredder asked.
"She is a member of an organization known as Pokémon and Humans Of Peace," Golbez said. "Our sworn enemies. I was hoping for one of them to come along."
"Golbez. I should have guessed you and your Team Shadow peons would be involved in this," Rydia said. "Your brother wouldn't be surprised if he had shown up."
"Do not speak of my brother!" Golbez roared.
Golbez harbors a deep resentment towards his brother. It turns out that he blames Cecil for his mother's death. She died giving birth to him. Afterwards, Golbez abandoned him as Cecil was found and adopted into a loving family, while Golbez was found and recruited by Mateus.
"Did I strike a nerve?" Rydia asked.
"We will dispose of you shortly. Until then, enjoy your last moments, Dragon Princess," Golbez said.
Elsewhere on Twist Mountain, Bouffalant ran forward as the group has arrived in the area.
"The Technodrome should be around here somewhere," Ventus said.
"Like a huge station would just show up right in front of us," Meowth said.
"It must be underground," Donnie said. "The readings shows that it's right under our feet."
"It's a good thing I have Excadrill," Sora said, letting out the subterranean Pokémon. "Okay, Excadrill, you ready to start digging?"
"Drill," Excadrill nodded as Mikey poked the mole-like Pokémon. "Excadrill?"
"Cool, a drill mole thing. Looks at those big claws," Mikey said. "They look like slice a pile of pizza." Raph smacked Mikey on the head.
"This isn't a picnic, Mike," Raph said.
"Okay, Excadrill! Use Dig!" Sora ordered. Excadrill was about to dig as several blades of air comes right at them. Excadrill slashes the blade of air, making them dissolve. They saw several Crobat flying. "Crobat!" The Team Shadow peons show up.
"Team Shadow!" Kairi said. The Foot ninjas arrive as well.
"And the Foot," Irma said.
"We don't have time to deal with you," Karen said, taking out Blossom's Pokéball. Ventus, Terra, and Aqua did the same thing. They let out their Pikachu.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora, Karen, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua ordered. The Pikachu all lands a Thunderbolt onto the peons, ninjas, and bat Pokémon.
"You will pay for this!" A Team Shadow peon exclaimed. Just then the mutant tiger comes along and heads towards Irma. Excadrill slashed at him as Bouffalant rammed into him. The mutant tiger roared.
"He's with Team Shadow?!" Sora exclaimed.
"He must have gotten mutated," Leo said.
"Whatever the scenario, we can't back down," Leo said.
"Casey Jones never backs down," Casey said, charging right at the mutant tiger. "Here kitty!" He smacked him hard. "Goongala." The mutant tiger roared as he charged right at Casey.
"Bouffalant! Use Head Charge!" Sora ordered. Bouffalant rammed right at the mutant tiger by ramming his head.
"I'm going to rip you apart!" The mutant tiger said as he came right at the bash buffalo Pokémon. Splinter gave him a smack with his walking stick.
"You will try," Splinter said.
"My pleasure, rodent," the mutant tiger said as he lunged towards the mutant rat. Splinter dodges and gave him a kick on the side. He then gave him a kick on the side and he goes flying to the side. The Crobat attempt to attack, but Splinter twirls his walking stick and smacked them. He turned to the group. "Leonardo, you, your brothers, and your friends go on ahead. I can handle them myself."
"Splinter, you sure?" Sora asked. "There's too many of them!"
"It's best not to argue with him, Sora," Mikey said.
"We will do as you say, father," Leo said. He turned to Sora. "He can handle it. He may be old, but he's not weak."
Sora didn't question it, so he had to agree, so they went off to find the Technodrome. The Solosis and Zorua from before had caught up with the group at last. Several Crobat attacked, but Solosis uses Psywave as Zorua uses Night Daze on the Crobat, knocking them out and gone on through.
Inside, the Technodrome's right over to Baxter Stockman, he buzzed right on over to the cave Pokémon with amazement.
"Quite extraordinary!" Stockman said. "I was hoping for a live specimen. I am interested in analyzing its brain, by dissecting it." The Druddigon roared as it broke out of its restraints and attacked the mutant fly. He screamed as he tries to get away. "I need some help in restraining it!"
Elsewhere in the Technodrome, Golbez, Valiant, Shredder, and Kraang were in Kraang's lab as a communicator goes off. Shredder answers it.
"What is it?" Shredder asked. "It better be important!"
"Master Shredder! The turtles are on the mountain! And they have allied themselves with the local inhabitants," a Foot ninja reported.
"The turtles?!" Shredder exclaimed.
"Turtles?" Golbez asked.
"We are dealing with the rat as we spe-" the ninja was cut off as the signal was cut.
Over to Splinter, he knocked out the Foot ninjas and the Team Shadow peons.
"What happened out there?! Answer me now!" Shredder ordered.
"It looks like our enemies are on the way," Kraang said.
"That bitch must have contacted reinforcements before getting captured," Valiant said.
"It seems that we will have to deal with them after all," Golbez said.
"Agreed," Shredder said. "It will acquire all of our forces to deal with them." He made contact with Stockman. "Baxter Stockman!"
Over to Stockman he is still buzzing around as Druddigon chases him.
"Yes, Master Shredder?" Stockman responded.
"The turtles and their allys are on the way! See to it that they are given a proper welcome," Shredder ordered.
"At once, sir! I'll get right on it!" Stockman said. He went for a tranquilizer bomb and threw one right at the cave Pokémon, putting it to sleep. "I'll deal with you later. Right now, I some shells to crack." He activates the cells by remote control. The cells containing the mutants open. He spoke through the speakers. "Slash, Leatherhead, Tokka, Rahzar, Dogpound, Fishface; some friends are coming to play."
"Play," Tokka said.
Over to the group, they followed the trail of the Technodrome as several Spearow and Fearow come flying towards them.
"We got Spearow!" Ventus said.
"And Fearow, too!" Aqua said.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora, Karen, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua ordered. The Pikachu all launched their electric attacks and shocked them all. They fell like dead flies after the combined Thunderbolt. Just then, Bebop and Rocksteady came right into the scene.
"Been waiting to settle the score, shell-heads!" Rocksteady said.
"It's Bebop and Rocksteady! They're Shredder's mutants!" Casey said.
"Bebop and Rocksteady?" Sora asked, almost chuckling. "Where do they get their names in your world?"
"You ditching on our names, kid?!" Bebop exclaimed.
"Have any of you seen a rhino charge?!" Rocksteady asked as he charged right at the group. Bouffalant charged right at the mutant rhino and held his own. Both the mutant and Pokémon held their own against one another. "Okay, you're much stronger than you look, but I'm still stronger than you! And I'm going to ground you up and have some buffalo burgers with grilled onions and a side of curly fries!"
"Excadrill! Drill Run!" Sora ordered. Excadrill puts hiss arms up to his head and forms his body into a drill. He then jumps into the air and rotates his body while charging at Rocksteady, jabbing the mutant rhino with his drill-like body. Rocksteady goes flying and he hits the wall, making a small rock slide. Raph whistled impressed.
"Nice," Raph said.
"Oh, you didn't just do that!" Bebop exclaimed.
"Sure did, Porky!" Sora taunted.
"Oh, you going to wish you didn't do that, kid!" Bebop said. Kairi took a Pokéball and opened it.
"Go! Swanna!" Kairi called out. Swanna came on out. "Use Ice Beam!" Swanna fired Ice Beam and it freezes the mutant warthog.
"Brr, that's cold," Bebop shivered.
"Way to put bacon bits on ice, Kairi," Sora said, making Mikey asked.
"On ice, that's a good one, Sora!" Mikey said.
"Think that's going to stop me? I'm going to mess you up, ya spiky-headed little punk!" Bebop threatened. He struggled to break the ice. "You and that girl!"
"You can say whatever you want about my hair, but don't you threaten my girlfriend, Pumbaa!" Sora said. Casey gave him a smack with his hockey stick.
Back to Splinter, the mutant tiger got back on his feet and growled.
"I won't be beaten by a rat!" The mutant tiger growled.
"Your anger is self-destructive, my friend. And it will be your undoing," Splinter warned.
"Spare me the lecture, rat! Once I'm done with you, then I'm going to track down those turtles and that Sora kid and his friends. It's only fitting that a rat would be done in by a cat," the mutant tiger said.
"You are welcome to try, but it will not be as easy as you think," Splinter said. The mutant tiger smirked as he leapt towards Splinter, but he took out a smoke bomb and threw it to the ground. The mutant tiger missed him. He saw he was gone when the smoke cleared. Splinter jumped and gave him another smack with his walking stick. Splinter gave him a punch in the face and a low sweep. "I am giving you a chance to surrender."
"Team Shadow knows nothing of surrender, vermin! I'm going to enjoy sharpening my claws on your corpse!" The mutant tiger roared. He ran towards the mutant rat, but he gave him a kick. The mutant tiger ran towards him, but misses when Splinter jumped out of the way. He hits a wall, causing a rock slide to come down fast. The mutant tiger is crushed by the falling rocks. He rushed to the mutant tiger and digs him out of the rocks.
"Can you speak?" Splinter asked.
"Why do you care what happened to me?" The mutant tiger asked.
"You look like you had promise. Why throw away such promise?" Splinter asked.
"Because I have nothing left. I lost everything. My father abused me ever since I was a little kid, and my mother abandoned me. I hated this world because of what I have been through," the mutant tiger muttered as blood gushed from his mouth. "For those reasons, I want the world to suffer as I had." Splinter knew a lost soul when he saw one. He figured that he wasn't evil, he was just angry and confused.
"It would not make things right. Making many people suffer will not undo the damage that has been done," Splinter said. "Hatred and revenge are poisons to the soul. If you had someone to love you, then your path would have been cleared." The mutant tiger coughed.
"I don't want your pity. Even when I am dead, my fellows will continue the war against our enemies," the mutant tiger said, dying from his injuries. He shuts his eyes for the last time. Splinter shuts his eyes.
"I hope you find in peace in death, better than you would have in life," Splinter said. He felt sorry for him, because he was so young. He looked around the same age as his sons. "Team Shadow. Are you on the same path as Shredder and the Foot?"
Back to the group, they made their way in the caverns. The signal was getting stronger, knowing they were getting closer and closer. They finally made it to the Technodrome.
"There it is; the Technodrome," Leo said.
"That's it? A giant golf ball on wheels?" Iris asked.
"It's more than a golf ball. It's Kraang's ultimate weapon," Donnie said.
"Shredder should already know about us coming by now, so be prepared," Leo said.
"Your villain, Leo. How is it going down?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu added.
"Okay. We will attack in two teams. Sora, Kairi, Terra, Raph, April, Casey, Cilan, and I will take one way, drawing Team Shadow the Foot's attention. Donnie, Mikey, Iris, Irma, Aqua, Ven, Karen, and Meowth will do the same. Once most of the Foot and Team Shadow has been dealt with, we head for Kraang's lab. That's where the dimensional teleporter is located, and most likely heavily guarded," Leo said.
"I can see why you're the leader, Leonardo," Cilan said.
"They dealt with Shredder more times than they can count, so they can handle him. We should also be on the lookout for some Pokémon around. Team Shadow probably has them out to battle us," Sora said.
"Agreed. Our Pokémon will have to handle them while you deal with the Foot," Cilan said.
"Okay, remember the plan. Take down as much as the enemy as you can," Leo said.
"Love that plan, Leo said, cracking his knuckles.
"Ready, set, go," Leo ssaid.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Terra, Cilan, Leo, Raph, Casey, April, Pikachu, Angel, and Thor took off in one direction as Karen, Ven, Aqua, Iris, Mikey, Donnie, Irma, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, and Eclair took off in another. They were being monitored by the surveillance systems. Valiant gave a hateful scowl.
"Sora Ketchum," Valiant hissed.
Approaching the Technodrome, Zorua and Solosis followed the group split into two groups. They followed Sora and Kairi throughout the station.
Karen, Ven, Aqua, Iris, Mikey, Donnie, Irma, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, and Eclair wondered through the Technodrome as they talked.
"Um, about this mutagen you told us about; I was wondering about something," Karen said.
"What about it, Karen?" Donnie asked.
"I was wondering if it affects your mind if it can affect your appearance," Karen said.
"Not any I have encountered. It may change your mannerisms, you're still you even after you get mutated," Donnie explained.
"For example, Mikey's still Mikey," Irma said.
"Yeah, I'm still me," Mikey said.
Just then, Dogpound lunged at the team.
"Look out!" Aqua exclaimed, tackling Ventus down as Mikey swung his nunchucks at the mutant dog. He growled at them.
"Nice doggy," Meowth said.
"Are they mutants, too?" Karen asked.
"Dogpound and Fishface," Mikey said.
"I'm going to enjoy chewing on your bones, turtles," Dogpound said. "Along with your human friends."
"Go ahead and try it, Pluto!" Ventus said.
"Pika!" Sparky said.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Terra, Cilan, Leo, Raph, Casey, April, Pikachu, Angel, and Thor, they kept their eyes out for the enemy forces just when they stopped. Leo gets his swords ready as Pikachu hears something. Sora's ability kicks in.
"Sora, what's wrong?" Cilan asked.
"Someone's here; someone not human," Sora said. "I'm picking on its aura. It's very close. And it's not in its right mind."
"Pika," Pikachu said with worry.
Slash jumped out as he held his two swords. He snarled right at the squad.
"It's Slash," Raph said.
"Friend of yours?" Cilan asked.
"Not even close," Raph said.
"Slash is a very aggressive mutant. Like us, he was an ordinary turtle, but the mutation has made him unstable," Leo said.
"Destroy weak turtles! Kill Leonardo and Raphael!" Slash said. "Kill humans, too!"
The fight against Team Shadow and the Foot has begun. Who will win and who will lose? Find out when we return with the next chapter.
