Episode 475: The Iccirus Contest Round 2
After making it through the first round of the Contest, Kairi will be facing off against Atticus in the second round, and Rosa will be facing off in the first battle.
The Coorsinator is named Louise. She has black hair with a ponytail wearing a pink dress. She wore pink shoes to go with it.
"It is time to begin! First, we have Rosa from Aspertia City, and Louise from Nimbasa City! We should see how this battle should turn out! As a reminder, this will be a triple battle, and the goal is to take out as much of the opponent's points as possible in this five minute battle! Start the clock and the battle!" Diane announced as the clock starts running. Rosa took out three of her Pokéballs in pink Party Seals and threw them. "Go! Cottonee, Azumarill, and Vanillish!" Her three Pokémon came on out to battle with pink confetti coming out. Louise took out her three Pokéballs and threw them. Her Pokéballs are in Ball Capsules with blue Foamy Seals.
"Go! Seel, Sealeo, and Brionne!" Louise called out. Her three Pokémon came out to battle against Rosa's Pokémon with bubbles coming right out along with them. "Begin things with your Ice Beam and Bubble Beam!" Seel and Sealeo fired Ice Beam as Brionne fired Bubble Beam, making Rosa lose some of her points.
"Wait, she's losing some points?" Blair asked.
"That's how it works in a Contest battle," Terra said. "The goal is not only to take down your opponent's points; it's also to show off their skills when it comes to things like coolness and beauty."
"Vanillish! Use Blizzard! Azumarill! Use Water Pulse! Cottonee! Use Fairy Wind!" Rosa ordered. Cottonee unleashed Fairy Wind as Azumarill hurls Water Pulse, and Vanillish unleashed Blizzard, cancelling out their opponent's moves. Louise has lost some of her points. "Okay, Azumarill! Use Iron Tail!" Azumarill swung its tail and lands a hit onto Brionne. "Cottonee! Razor Leaf on Seel!" Cottonee fired Razor Leaf onto Seel. "Vanillish! Use Sheer Cold on Sealeo!" Vannilish unleashed a cold air all around and lands a hit onto Sealeo, resulting in a knockout. Louise has lost points from each hit.
"And Sealeo is down!" Diane announced.
"Sheer Cold is a move that knows how to give me the chills," Meowth said. He starts shaking. "Thinking about it is enough to make me cold."
"Rosa still has all three of hers," Bastion said.
"Right. It's not over yet," Aqua said.
"Seel! Headbutt on Azumarill! Brionne! Disarming Voice!" Louise ordered. Seel came right at Azumarill as Brionne unleashed Disarming Voice. The sea lion Pokémon lands a hit onto the aqua rabbit Pokémon as Brionne gave a hit onto both of Cottonee and Vanillish. Rosa has lost some more of her points and the clock ran down the three minute mark.
"Vanillish! Use Icicle Spear! Cottonee! Use Razor Leaf! Azumarill! Bubble Beam!" Rosa ordered. All three Pokémon all fired their attacks and they struck their two remaining opponents. Louise loses some more of her points.
"Rosa is really putting a sting onto Louise, and on her points! How will she hold on?" Diane asked.
"Ice Beam and Bubble Beam!" Louise ordered. Both of her Pokémon fired their attacks at their opponents. Rosa has lost some more of her points.
"Vanillish! Cottonee! Azumarill! Icicle Spear! Fairy Wind! Water Pulse!" Rosa ordered. All of Louise's Pokémon, making her lose some more of her points, reaching the two minute mark.
"We are now down to minutes on the clock! It'll be anyone's guess who'll be advancing to the final round!" Diane announced.
"Brionne! Seel! Dodge it!" Louise ordered. They tried to dodge, but both got struck by their attacks. Louise has lost some more of her points.
"Now, use Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, and Fairy Wind!" Rosa ordered. All of Rosa's Pokémon all launched their attacks and they struck the sea lion and pop star Pokémon. It resulted in a double knockout.
"It looks like Seel and Brionne are both unable to battle, and Azumarill, Vanillish, and Cottonee wins, so the winner is Rosa!" Diane announced. Louise called back her remaining Pokémon and smiled.
"Seel, Brionne, you both battled hard, and I am so proud of you both," Louise said. "Get some rest."
"That was an excellent battle! Rosa and Louise has both gave it everything they had, and they should both be proud," Brycen said.
"Our next battle shall begin in a few minutes," Diane said.
Elsewhere, N is sitting by a tree as he looked up to the sky.
"Zekrom, Reshiram," N said in his thoughts. "What is it that I should do? Even if we have liberated all of the Pokémon in the Unova region, what will the future bring?" Just then, Trip was walking by and he spots N sitting by the tree.
"Hey, I know you," Trip said. N looked right at him. "I meet you back in Castelia City."
"What do you want from me?" N asked.
"Normally, not a thing, except to battle you," Trip said. N looked right at him.
"Battle you? You want me to battle against you?" N asked.
"Are you afraid you'll lose?" Trip asked.
"Why would you ask me such a thing?" N asked. "I have no desire to harm a living Pokémon."
"You are afraid to lose," Trip said. N glared right at him.
"You have no compassion whatsoever. Perhaps my father was right about you," N said. This confuses Trip.
"Your father? What are you talking about?" Trip asked.
"You trainers are all alike," N said. "You have Pokémon fight each other like they were lions fighting over the meat of an animal they killed, and yet you don't feel their pain. You don't consider their feelings! YOU DON'T SEE THEM AS EQUALS! HUMANS JUST USES THEM AS TOOLS TO USE WHENEVER THEY PLEASE!"
"What's your problem?" Trip asked.
"Get away from me!" N yelled.
Trip took out his Pokéball and opened it.
"Serpentior! Go!" Trip called out. Just then, a Samurott came charging in. Hugh followed him.
"Samurott! Razor Shell!" Hugh ordered. Samurott came at N with Razor Shell, but he dodged the attack. "I have you at last!" Trip turned to Hugh, coming right at him. "You're not getting away!"
"I know you! You're Hugh!" Trip said.
"And I should tell you that he's the king of Team Plasma!" Hugh said. Trip looked right at N.
"Team Plasma's king?" Trip asked in shock. "You can't be serious!"
"I am serious. And I repeat, the king of Team Plasma," Hugh said.
"What quarrel do you have with me?" N asked.
"You took me sister's Pokémon! It was a Purrloin five years ago!" Hugh roared. "And I'm going to have my revenge on you, your majesty!" Samurott came at N, but he dodged again.
"I had nothing to do with it," N said.
"Like that matters with me!" Hugh snapped at him. Samurott fired Hydro Pump at him, but N fled. "Don't let him get away!"
"Wait a minute! Get back here! Hey!" Trip tried to call out to him, but Hugh was going too fast for him to hear his voice. "I never thought Team Plasma had a king. Wait, was he behind the Venipede attack in Castelia City? If he is, then why?"
Back in Iccirus City, a boy sits among the crowd, but just behind Sora and the rest. It turns out to be Zorua in disguise. He grins since he finally caught up with Sora. Vanillite was anxiously waiting to seeing Kairi in action in a battle.
"And now it is time for the second battle before the final round! On my left, is Kairi, and on my right is Atticus!" Diane announced.
"This is it. Your brother against my brother's girlfriend. This is going to be a thrill," Karen said.
"I just hope he doesn't make it into a reality show," Alexis said.
"Five minutes on the clock and begin!" Diane announced as the clock starts running. Atticus had his three Pokéballs in Ball Capsules with the same Star Seals.
"Go! Liepard, Mothim, and Roserade!" Atticus called out as Liepard, Roserade, and Mothim came out. Kairi had of her three Pokéballs in a white Line Seal as another is in a pink Party Seal as her third is in a pink Flora Seal.
"Go! Duosion, Lilligant, and Mienfoo!" Kairi called out. Her three Pokémon came on out to battle with a white line with Mienfoo, coming out as pink petals came out with Lilligant, and pink confetti coming out with them. "Ladies first! Lilligant! Petal Blizzard! Mienfoo! Aura Sphere! Duosion! Psybeam!" Her three Pokémon all fired their chosen moves right at their opponents.
"This'll be quite a match. Kairi has made a wise move in sending Mienfoo against Liepard since Mienfoo is a Fighting Type, but at the same time, Duosion is vulnerable to Dark and Bug Types. The same can be said since Lilligant is vulnerable to Bug Types," Bastion said.
"That won't stop her though," Sora said. Bastion turned to him. "I remember she went through the same situation when she was in the Fallarbor Town Contest. She was up against a former Coordinator who had a Ninetales, and Kairi had a Togedemaru. Despite being at a Type disadvantage, she was still to come out on top." Sora remembered the battle between her and Nancy like it was yesterday.
"Nice try! Liepard! Use Slash on that Aura Sphere! Mothim! Silver Wind against Petal Blizzard! Roserade! Use Hidden Power on that Psybeam!" Atticus ordered. His three Pokémon used their attacks to block the moves of Kairi's Pokémon. Kairi has lost some of her points.
"A wonder defense on Atticus's part! A wonderfully good start!" Diane announced.
"Now, use Hidden Power!" Atticus ordered. All three Pokémon unleashed Hidden Power and they struck Mienfoo, Lilligant, and Duosion on the mark. Kairi has lost some more of her points.
"And Atticus takes the lead in this battle!" Diane announced.
"Mienfoo! Use Double Slap on Liepard! Duosion! Use Psychic on Roserade! Lilligant! Energy Ball on Mothim!" Kairi ordered. Meinfoo heads towards Liepard and makes a couple of slaps onto the leopard-like Pokémon. Lilligant fires Energy Ball right at Mothim and Duosion uses Psychic on Roserade. He loses some points in the process. The clock runs down to three minutes.
"Take him down, Kairi!" Sora called out to his girlfriend. He turned to Alexis. "No offense to you, Alexis."
"None taken," Alexis said. "But all the same, he's not easy to take down as she's about find out."
"Okay, Liepard! Shadow Ball on Duosion! Mothim! Use Bug Buzz on Mienfoo! Roserade! Use Seed Bomb!" Atticus ordered. Atticus's Pokémon all attacked at once.
"Duosion! Protect! Mienfoo, Lilligant, get behind her!" Kairi called out. Duosion uses Protect as Mienfoo and Lilligant gets behind Duosion. Their attacks backfired as Atticus has lost some of his points.
"And Kairi makes good use of Duosion's Protect!" Diane announced.
"That has earned you some votes!" Atticus said.
"Thanks, I guess," Kairi said.
"Okay, Duosion! Use Psybeam on Mothim!" Kairi ordered. Duosion fires Psybeam right at the moth Pokémon.
"No you don't! Liepard! In front of Mothim!" Atticus ordered. Liepard came right in front of Mothim as Duosion fires Psybeam. Kairi smirked.
"Mienfoo! Aura Sphere!" Kairi ordered. Meinfoo fires Aura Sphere and it struck Liepard on the mark. Liepard is out of the way as Duosion lands a hit with Psybeam. Atticus has lost some of his points. The clock runs down to one minute.
"That was a sweet move!" Jaden said.
"Indeed. Knowing that Liepard's resistance to Psybeam, she had Mienfoo move in with Aura Sphere! Such a bitter aftertaste in Atticus's part," Cilan said.
"That was very impressive. That girl only had Mienfoo for a short time, but I can already see a bond between them. With her as a trainer, Mienfoo will be able to go far. Meinfoo, make me proud," Brycen said in his thoughts.
"One minute remaining, and it'll be anyone's guess whose battle it'll be!" Diane announced.
"Hidden Power!" Atticus ordered.
Atticus's Pokémon all unleashed their attacks right at their opponents.
"Protect!" Kairi ordered. Duosion forms a protective barrier around herself and the attack bounced right off. Atticus lost some of his points. "Jump Kick on Liepard!" Mienfoo jumped to land a kick onto Liepard.
"Jump Kick is risky, because he'll take some damage of Mienfoo's kick misses!" Iris said.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"Mienfoo heads right towards Liepard with a Jump Kick!" Diane announced as Mienfoo lands a successful kick. "And that lands a hit!" Atticus has lost some more of his points. Vannilite was awestruck by how Kairi battled. "Half a minute left on the clock!"
"Not bad! Is it good enough? Hidden Power again!" Atticus ordered. They all unleashed their attacks again.
"Protect!" Kairi ordered. Duosion forms a protective barrier around herself as Lilligant and Mienfoo got behind Duosion. Atticus lost some more of points.
"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, and TIME! And the winner is..." Diane announced as Kairi has some more points than Atticus. "It's Kairi along with Lilligant, Mienfoo, and Duosion!" Atticus's fan club all start bawling after seeing him lose. Sora cheered for Kairi.
"That's my girl!" Sora cheered.
Rosa smiled as she watched the match from start to finish.
"I was hoping you would win, Kairi," Rosa said.
"The final match of the Iccirus City Pokémon Contest will begin in a few minutes!" Diane announced as Kairi and Atticus exited the battlefield.
"That was a totally rad battle, Kairi. I can see why you're a Top Coordinator," Atticus said.
"Thanks, Atticus. I have to admit, I thought you would have had me," Kairi said.
"Yeah. You clearly had more viewer votes than I did, so it was all yours," Atticus said.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but thanks," Kairi said.
Meanwhile, Chazz was fuming over his defeat at the hands of Sora.
"I can't believe I lost to that spiky-haired little runt, Sora Ketchum!" Chazz said to himself. "Next time I see him, things will be different." A ringing is heard as he answered it. "Yeah, what?"
"Princeton, it's me," a male voice spoke.
"Oh, it's just you. What do you want?" Chazz asked.
"Your brothers wanted me to remind you to be at the top of your game," the man said.
"Don't you have anything better to do than to be a lap dog for my brothers?" Chazz asked.
"That's what I get paid for," the man said. "Also, I heard that you lost a battle against that Sora Ketchum kid recently."
"Oh, is that big news now?!" Chazz exclaimed.
"I heard some talk, so I figured your brothers aren't gonna find out about it," the man said.
"And how are you going to keep it a secret from them?" Chazz asked.
"Oh, don't worry about that. You can leave that to me," the man said, hanging up.
"You better, because I'm going to be extremely pissed off if you don't," Chazz said.
Back in Iccirus City, the battle between Kairi and Rosa was about to begin.
"And now we have two Coordinators left in this Contest! Who will emerge victorious in this battle? Will it be Kairi from Pallet Town or Rosa from Aspertia Town? That's what we're here to find out, folks!" Diane announced.
"Show what you got, Kairi!" Karen said.
"Now let's begin!" Diane announced as the clock starts running. Rosa took out her three Pokéballs and threw them.
"Cottonee, Azumarill, and Vanillish!" Rosa called out as they came out with pink confetti along with them.
"Mienfoo, Duosion, and Lilligant!" Kairi called out. Their Pokémon all came out at once with confetti, petals, and a line erupting with them.
"Fairy Wind! Water Pulse! Icicle Spear!" Rosa ordered. Rosa's Pokémon all launched their attacks first.
"Duosion! Protect! Mienfoo, Lilligant! Get behind her!" Kairi ordered. Mienfoo and Lilligant got behind Duosion as their attacks bounced off with Protect. Rosa has lost some of her points. "Okay, Mienfoo! Jump Kick on Cottonee! Lilligant! Leaf Storm on Azumarill!" Mienfoo heads right towards Cottonee as Lilligant unleashed Leaf Storm right at Azumarill.
"Dodge it, Cottonee!" Rosa called out. Cottonee dodged Mienfoo's Jump Kick, so he makes a crash landing. Kairi has lost some of her points. Lilligant's Leaf Storm lands a hit onto the aqua rabbit Pokémon. Rosa has lost some of her points.
"They're both giving it to each other," Iris said.
"Judging by how those two are going at it, it could be anyone's battle," Hassleberry said.
"Vanillish! Ice Beam at Lilligant!" Rosa ordered. Vanillish fires Ice Beam right at the flowering Pokémon.
"Duosion! Use Psychic to block!" Kairi ordered. Duosion blocked Ice Beam with Psychic, making Rosa lose some more points. "Send it back!" Duosion sends Ice Beam right back to its owner.
"Azumarill! Water Pulse!" Rosa ordered. Azumarill hurls Water Pulse right back at Ice Beam. Kairi has lost some of her points as the clock runs down to three minutes.
"A wonderful block, and a wonderful save!" Diane announced.
"Cottonee! Razor Leaf! Azumarill! Bubble Beam! Vanillish! Icicle Spear!" Rosa ordered. All of Rosa's Pokémon all attacked at once and quickly enough for them to strike her Pokémon. Kairi has lost more points.
"Rosa is putting Kairi in a corner! This could be just be her match!" Diane announced.
"Hang in there, guys," Kairi said. Lilligant, Mienfoo, and Duosion got back up to keep going.
"If this keeps up, Rosa might win this," Cilan said.
"Unless a miracle shows up and soon," Meowth said.
"Mienfoo! Aura Sphere on Vanillish!" Kairi ordered. Mienfoo unleashed Aura Sphere and it lands a hit onto the icy snow Pokémon, taking a heavy amount of damage. Rosa has lost some more of her points. "Lilligant! Use Petal Blizzard!" Lilligant unleashed a blizzard of petals, and they go everywhere. Azumarill and Cottonee both heavy damage from her attack. Rosa has lost some more of her points.
"Now, Kairi's making such a huge comeback!" Diane announced.
"Duosion! Use Psychic!" Kairi ordered. Duosion uses Psychic to lift up Azumarill, Cottonee, and Vanillish. Rosa loses some more of her points. Rosa seemed to smirk.
"Okay, Vanillish! Ice Beam on Duosion!" Vanillish fires Ice Beam and it struck the mitosis Pokémon on the mark. Kairi has lost some more of her points. Cottonee, Vanillish, and Azumarill were now free from Psychic.
"Bubble Beam!" Rosa ordered. Azumarill fired Bubble Beam and it struck Duoison on the mark. "Keep it up!" Azumarill kept firing Bubble Beam right at Duosion right up to when Kairi had a little less points than Rosa did. The clock runs down to two minutes.
"Kairi's comeback is cut short as we approach the two minute mark!" Diane announced.
"This battle is even more fun than I thought it was going to be! Hilda is going to be so mighty proud of me when I win this match!" Rosa said in her thoughts.
"Rosa is a good Coordinator. Hilda would amazed if she was watching this. And she's giving me everything she has," Kairi said in her thoughts.
"Okay, Vanillish! Icicle Spear!" Rosa ordered. Vanillish fired Icicle Spear right at its opponents.
"Dodge and use Aura Sphere!" Kairi ordered. Mienfoo fired Aura Sphere right at Vanillish, landing a heavy blow. Rosa has lost some of her points in the process. Vanillish has been taken down hard.
"Vanillish is unable to battle!" Diane announced. Rosa calls back Vanillish.
"Have yourself a good rest. You battled enough for one day," Rosa said. "Okay, Azumarill! Cottonee! Go! Water Pulse and Fairy Wind!" Azumarill and Cottonee hurls Fairy Wind right at their opponents.
"Duosion! Protect!" Kairi ordered. Duosion used Protect to block their attacks.
"Azumarill Water Pulse! Cottonee! Razor Leaf!" Rosa ordered. Azumarill and Cottonee unleashed their attacks and lands a hit onto Mienfoo and Lilligant. Kairi has lost some more of her points. "Fairy Wind!" Cottonee unleashed Fairy Wind and it lands a hit onto Meonfoo, causing some heavy damage. Kairi has lost some more of her points as one minute remains.
"One minute warning for both Coordinators!" Diane announced.
"Okay, Bubble Beam and Fairy Wind!" Rosa ordered. Both Pokémon unleashed their attacks, but Kairi wasn't going to go down that easily.
"Dodge!" Kairi called out. They all dodged the attacks coming at them. "Okay, Mienfoo prepare for Aura Sphere! Duosion, use Psybeam on one of his hands! Lilligant! Energy Ball on the other!" Both of Lilligant and Duosion fired their attacks as Mienfoo was preparing to charge up Aura Sphere. With one attack on each hand, Mienfoo began to build up loads of energy into Mienfoo's palms.
"What could this be, ladies and gentlemen? I have never seen anything like this before!" Diane said.
"What could Kairi be cooking up?" Jaden asked.
"I would say it's something deliciously new!" Cilan said.
"That's my girl!" Sora said.
The clock runs down to thirty seconds left.
"Thirty seconds remaining!" Diane announced.
"Unleash it now!" Kairi called out. Mienfoo has fired his Aura Sphere, combined with Psybeam and Energy Ball. The combination was made up in a rainbow glowing power as Azumarill and Cottonee were both struck as it took out a huge chunk of Rosa's points. Azumarill and Cottonee have both taken heavy damage as the clock has run out.
"Time!" Diane announced. "And the winner of the Iccirus City Pokémon Contest is Kairi along with her Lilligant, Duosion, and Mienfoo!" The crowd cheered as Rosa smiled and walked up to Kairi.
"That was a good battle. I enjoyed it a lot," Rosa said.
"Thanks, so did I," Kairi said. Both shook hands after the spectacular battle and Contest.
"What we're seeing here is a display of good sportsmanship!" Diane said. "I wonder what does Mr. Basil has to say about this!"
"I must say, I am mighty impressed by the determination that these two young Coordinators has displayed! The use of Aura Sphere combined with Energy Ball and Psybeam was the most creative display I have ever seen! I have never such a thing was possible until I have seen it with my own eyes! Well done!" Mr. Basil said.
"I agree! Truly marvelous!" Miss Juliana said.
"I can see a bright future for her and those three Pokémon! They have shown they have a lot of spirit!" Brycen said.
The Contest is reaching its conclusion as Kairi, Angel, Sawsbuck, Lilligant, Mienfoo, Duosion, and Swanna stood before Mr. Basil.
"And now, Mr. Basil is presenting our winner the prestigious Iccirus Contest Ribbon!" Diane announced.
"Kairi, I understand that this will be your fourth Ribbon, yes?" Mr. Basil asked.
"Yes, sir," Kairi said.
"Then you are well on your way since you will need only one more to win," Mr. Basil said. Kairi is given her fourth Ribbon and she smiled.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"And that concludes the first Contest in Iccirus City! We will be proud to return here next year, but until the next Contest, I bid you all adieu!" Diane announced. The crowd cheered as the Contest has reached its end.
Kairi got dressed in her regular clothes as she met up with her boyfriend and the rest.
"That was very impressive, Kairi. You're even better than I thought," Alexis said.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Now all that's left is to see Sora's Gym battle!" Ventus said.
"You got that right, Ven," Meowth said. "The one Pokémon Sora's gonna have a hard time with is his Beartic."
"You're right, Meowth," Sora said. "I seen how tough that Beartic is when it came to those two Jellicent. And I know he'll be tough to take down, so I plan on giving him my all."
"I would like to see that," Jaden said.
"As would I," a familiar voice spoke. The voice belonged to Brycen. "Apologies for eavesdropping, but I couldn't help but overhear that you are here for a Gym battle, Sora, isn't it?"
"Yes," Sora said. "So far, I collected seven Gym Badges."
"I see," Brycen said. "And I take it that you wish to challenge me."
"Yeah. We came this far," Sora said.
"Then I shall accept your challenge. We will have it tomorrow morning," Brycen said.
"I'll see you by then," Sora said.
The challenge starting to make their way back to the Pokémon Center, when they bumped into Vanillite.
"A Vanillite!" Aqua said.
"Vanillite, Vannill, nil, Vanillite!" Vanillite said.
"What's Vanillite saying?" Ventus asked.
"Vanillite is saying that she was watching Kairi in the Pokémon Contest, and she wants to be a part of it," Meowth translated.
"You want to be with me?" Kairi asked.
"Vanillite, lite, Vannilite!" Vanillite said.
"Vanillite just said that Kairi here is the inspiration for her," Meowth said. Kairi nodded as she understood.
"If that's what you want," Kairi said, taking out a Pokéball. Vanillite went over to the Pokéball and flows inside. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box goes off asking her if she wants to keep Vanillite with her. She chose to keep Vanillite in exchange for Lilligant.
Not only Kairi has won her fourth Contest Ribbon, but she has also gained a new Pokémon to boot. Also, there's the matter of Sora's next Gym battle. Let's see how it'll go in the next chapter.
