Episode 480: Team Eevee To The Rescue!
Okay, before we get this chapter started, I just wanted to say that I will be giving Virgil all eight evolved forms of Eevee. Also, I'll be giving this Eevee the same heart-shaped pattern just like Angel, because it's canon on Pokémon: Sword and Shield. I know, I checked. And I can also say, Pikachu can use Double Kick, because that was in Pikachu's learnsets in Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. I have been doing my research on the subject. And that's all I will say for now.
Shortly after the battle with Drayden, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair had arrived to the Pokémon Center and checked Beartic, Cryogonal, and Fraxure in to be healed.
As Sora was waiting, he looked at the nine Gym Badges he had obtained. He had been wondering why there were two extra spots, but he didn't think it was important, so he didn't question it. Kairi sat down next to her boyfriend.
"You doing okay, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. Just thinking," Sora said.
"About seeing Marlon again after so long?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. It feels like yesterday that he and I were on the battlefield back on Red Rock Isle, and now, we'll be having a rematch," Sora said.
"To be honest, I feel the same way. I can imagine how surprised he would be if he saw us again," Kairi said.
"I'm already picturing it," Sora said.
After waiting for a few minutes, Sora and Kairi went to pick up Beartic, Cryogonal, and Fraxure. He exchanged Beartic and Cryogonal for Palpitoad and Emboar.
The group took their leave of Opelucid City after Iris said her goodbyes to Martha. As they heading for Humilau City, the group comes across a river. They thought it would be a good time to take a small fishing break. So far, nothing was biting.
"I got nothing," Sora said. "How are the rest of you doing?"
"Same here, Sora," Karen said.
"Nothing," Kairi said.
"Nothing," Terra said.
"Nothing," Aqua said.
"Nothing," Ventus said.
"Nothing," Cilan said.
"Nothing," Iris said.
"Zilch," Meowth said.
"Thought it'll be too easy," Sora said. He felt a tug on his fishing rod. "Whoa! I got something!" He starts to reel it in as it shows to be a Blue-Striped Basculin. "Whoa! Basculin! And a Blue-Striped one!" The Basculin attacked by coming at Sora with Aqua Tail. "Pikachu! Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumped and lands an Iron Tail to block Aqua Tail. Basculin then lands a bite onto Pikachu. Basculin ends up being paralyzed by Pikachu's Static. Basculin gave Pikachu a frightening face.
"It's using Scary Face!" Ventus said.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt at Basculin, dealing some heavy damage and lands back in the water. Basculin wasn't willing to call it quits.
"Here he comes!" Kairi said. Basculin jumped out with Crunch.
"Thunderbolt again!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Basculin a another shock of Thunderbolt. Basculin was now down for the cocount. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Basculin flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Basculin with him. He chose to send Basculin to Professor Oak's lab.
"Nice catch, Sora," Karen said.
"Thanks," Sora said.
"I'll have to agree because it was good," a voice spoke. The group turned to see a young man with blue hair that is seen in his distinctive hairstyle and blue eyes. "I've been fishing here for a while, and I can say, that Basculin you just caught is a force to be reckoned with."
"You seem to know a lot about Basculin," Cilan said.
"Yeah. The Blue-Striped Basculin lives in this river while the Red-Striped ones all in that one," the young man said, pointing to the other river. It's been a known fact that they fight each other whenever they meet each other."
"That is true," Cilan said.
Just a little while away, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill are by that river as a Red-Striped Basculin attacked.
"Eevee! Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball at the Red-Striped Basculin. It got hit on the mark. The red-striped hostile Pokémon came at him with Crunch. "Dodge and use Swift!" Eevee dodged and fired Swift at the Red-Striped Basculin. "Now, use Quick Attack!" Eevee lands a Quick Attack on the fish Pokémon. Riku took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Red-Striped Basculin flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. It then teleports back to Riku's home. Naminé went up to Riku.
"Good catch, Riku," Naminé said.
"Azurill!" Naminé said.
"Thanks, Naminé," Riku said. "It was a good thing we came here."
"We were thinking the same thing," Sora said, surprising Riku. He smiled when he saw them.
"Sora, good to see you," Riku said. "You training for the Unova Pokémon League?"
"Actually, we're heading for Humilau City for a Gym battle," Sora said.
"Thought you would have gotten eight by now," Riku said.
"He has nine actually," Cilan said. "He was told that he can go from nine to ten," Cilan said.
"Seriously? I didn't know you can do that," Riku said.
"You never could stop surprising us, Sora," Naminé said.
"There's also another reason we're going there," Sora said.
"We're also heading to Humilau City for a Pokémon Contest," Kairi said.
"I figured you would have four by now," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"How about we have a battle, Sora. One-on-one," Riku challenged.
"I'm game," Sora said. Both trainers got into position for battle. Riku took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Chandelure!" Riku called out. Chandelure came out to battle.
"When did you evolve your Lampent, Riku?" Sora asked.
"A little while after the Clubsplosion," Riku said. "Your turn."
"Right," Sora said, taking out a Pokéball. "Go! Palpitoad!" Palpitoad came out to battle. "You wanna go first?"
"Okay! Chandelure! Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Chandelure fired Shadow Ball right at Palpitoad.
"Dodge and use Supersonic!" Sora ordered. Palpitoad gave a loud yell as Chandelure is caught in the soundwave. "Now use Mud Bomb!" Palpitoad fired Mud Bomb at the luring Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Psychic!" Riku ordered. Chandelure used Psychic on the vibration Pokémon and slammed him down.
"Palpitoad! Use Hydro Pump!" Palpitoad fired Hydro Pump right at Chandelure and lands a hit.
"Super-effective!" Karen said.
"Now use Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Palpitoad fired Mub Bomb right Chandelure. The attack lands a hit. "Mud Bomb again!" Palpitoad fired Mud Bomb at Chandelure again.
"Psychic!" Riku ordered. Chandelure blocks Mub Bomb with Psychic and lands a hit onto Palpitoad. It felt like a heavy hit from his own move. Palpitoad started to evolve. Everyone were amazed to see Palpitoad evolving. Palpitoad had evolved into a Seismitoad.
"Palpitoad is now a Seismitoad!" Ventus said.
"Seismitoad! Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Seismitoad fires Hydro Pump right at the luring Pokémon. Hydro Pump became so much stronger due to his evolution.
"Psychic!" Riku ordered. Chandelure uses Psychic to turn Hydro Pump back around and lands a hit onto the toad Pokémon. Seismitoad wasn't down yet.
"Seismitoad! Use Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Seismitoad fires Mud Bomb right at Chandelure.
"Dodge and use Psychic!" Riku ordered. Seismitoad fires Mud Bomb as Chandelure dodged the attack. Chandelure uses Psychic to lift up Seismitoad and slam him down again. Seismitoad has been knocked out. Sora had lost the battle. Sora calls back Seismitoad.
"Get some rest, Seismitoad. You earned it," Sora said. He walked up to Riku. "Looks like I lost again to you."
"Well, you would have beaten me if that Mud Bomb hit," Riku said. Sora and Riku both shared a laugh.
"Still, it was a good battle," Sora said, complimenting his friend and rival.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair said their goodbyes to Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill, telling them that they will see them when they do.
A few days has passed as Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair made a few stops to train. During the training, Zorua has evolved into a Zoroark as Woobat evolved into a Swoobat. As they trained, Sora exchanged his entire team for Ferroseed, Rufflet, Lampent, Larvesta, and Fraxure. Sora used a Dusk Stone to make his Lampent evolve into a Chandelure, but Fraxure, Ferroseed, Larvesta, and Rufflet all evolved. The same can be said for Meinfoo when he became a Mienshao, and Vanillite became a Vanillish. Kairi exchanged her entire team for Vullaby, Munna, Minncino, and Watchog, and the female Frillish as Sora exchanged his team for Klang, Krokorok, Herdier, Krookodile, and the male Frillish. As they went through some training, they all evolved. Kairi used her Moon Stone to evolve Munna into a Musharna as she used her Shiny Stone to evolve Minncino into a Cinccino. After their training, Sora and Kairi exchanged their entire team for Boldore, Zwelious, Yamask, Servine, Dewott, Duosion, Gothorita, Maractus, Vanillish, and Liepard. During the training, Boldore, Zwelious, Yamask, Duosion, and Gothorita all evolved.
As the group kept on training, a Meloetta is being chased by two Escavalier. They fired Energy Ball right at Meloetta. The melody Pokémon managed to get hit by the two Energy Balls. Just then, a Tyranitar appeared and fires Flamethrower at Meloetta.
"Don't let it get away!" A man's voice called out. The man has black and blue hair and blue eyes. He wore a green jumpsuit and black boots. He had some sort of device on his right wrist. "Meloetta is as good as caught." He activates orb-like devices to capture Meloetta. Meloetta turns invisible to avoid detection. "Don't think you'll hide from me! Tyranitar! Hyper Beam!" Tyranitar fires Hyper Beam, hoping to draw Meloetta out. Meloetta is still invisible when Hyper Beam was fired. "Escavalier! Energy Ball!" The two Escavalier fires their Energy Balls to strike, but Meloetta avoids them completely. "It's gotta be around here somewhere. I can feel it in my bones." He looked right at his three Pokémon. "Search the woods! Tear it apart if you have to, but find Meloetta!" Tyranitar and the two Escavalier went off to search for Meloetta.
Speaking of which Meloetta turns visible again to catch its breath. It didn't quite understand why he was chasing it. Its moments of rest were short-lived when the Escavalier attacked with Twineedle. Meloetta dodged them and took off with the Meloetta chasing after it.
A little further away, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were enjoying some lunch together. Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Axew, Servine, Dewott, Gigalith, Hydreigon, Cofagrigus, Liepard, Reuniclus, Gothitelle, Maractus, Vanillish, Pansage, Ferroseed, Amoongus, Deino, and Druddigon were enjoying the Pokémon food made by Kairi and Cilan.
"Tastes great as usual," Iris said.
"Thank you very much, Iris," Cilan said.
"There's still more if you want seconds," Kairi said.
"I'm down for that," Meowth said.
Meloetta suddenly shows up, startling everyone.
"What the?!" Sora exclaimed in shock. He looked at the melody Pokémon. "I know you. You're Meloetta."
"Meloetta?" Kairi asked. Meloetta was frightened of the group, but it got worse when the two Escavalier show up.
"Escavalier!" Ventus exclaimed. They attacked with Energy Ball. Their attacks struck the food they were eating.
"All that hard work gone to waste!" Cilan said.
"Hey! What's the idea!" Meowth exclaimed. The Escavalier came right at the group. Before anyone could give the word, an Eevee, a Leafeon, an Espeon, an Umbreon, a Glaceon, and a Vaporeon comes around. This Eevee has a heart-shaped pattern at the end of the tail, like Angel.
"Eevee! Trump Card! Umbreon! Shadow Ball! Espeon! Psybeam! Leafeon! Energy Ball!Glaceon! Ice Beam! Vaporeon! Bubble Beam!" A male voice ordered.
Eevee creates six red-glowing cards of energy in the form of a ring in front of its body. It then fires the cards at the two Escavalier. Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Vaporeon fired their attacks at the attacking cavalry Pokémon. They managed to drive the Escavalier off as Eevee and the five Eeveelutions saw them off.
"Eevee," the Eevee said.
Just then, a young lad with blonde hair and brown eyes came to the scene. He wore a persimmon jacket with two pockets and white collars and short sleeves, as well as a gray belt under it. He also wore a teal long-sleeved undershirt, gray gloves, persimmon pants with white outlines and black boots. He also has a Xtransceiver on his left wrist.
"Are you all alright?" The lad asked.
"Yeah. It was a good thing you showed up when you did," Karen said.
"That's good to know," the lad said. He looked right at Sora. "Hey, I think I know you. You're Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, right?"
"Yeah," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I thought you looked familiar. My name's Virgil, and this is Team Eevee," Virgil introduced.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Kairi, and this is my Eevee Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee," Angel greeted. Virgil chuckled.
"Nice to meet you, Angel," Virgil said.
"I'm Karen, I'm Sora's sister, and this is Blossom," Karen introduced.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"I'm Ventus, but call me Ven. And this is Sparky," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"I'm Terra, and this is Thor," Terra said.
"Pika," Thor said.
"My name's Aqua, and this is Eclair," Aqua introduced.
"Chu," Eclair said.
"My name's Iris, and this is Axew!" Iris introduced.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"And I'm Cilan; I'm a Pokémon Connoisseur," Cilan finished. "And I have to say, each one of your Pokémon are all flavorful and well trained."
"Thanks," Virgil said. "Just wasn't expecting to bump into anyone out here. Especially with Pokémon Hunters on the loose."
"Pokémon Hunters?" Sora asked.
"Yes. Those two Escavalier probably belonged to a hunter," Virgil said.
"A Pokémon Hunter? Here?" Karen asked.
"Man, they're the worse of the worse," Ventus said.
"They are. I heard there was one in the area, and he's been sent to capture Meloetta. I came to prevent that from happening," Virgil said.
"Shouldn't you leave that to the authorities?" Aqua asked.
"I'm actually a Pokémon Ranger," Virgil said.
"A Pokémon Ranger? Really?" Cilan asked.
"That's right. My dad and my older brother are also Pokémon Rangers," Virgil said. "We're all members of the Pokémon Rescue Squad. Whenever a Pokémon is in trouble, we do everything we can to help them."
"Much like Meloetta," Iris said, turning to Meloetta only to see it gone. "Huh? Where did it go?"
"Meloetta probably turned itself invisible because of the attack," Virgil said.
"Hey, since you have an Eevee, a Vaporeon, a Leafeon, an Espeon, a Glaceon, and an Umbreon, do you also have Jolteon, Flareon, and Sylveon?" Ventus asked.
"Yes, Team Eevee has all eight evolved forms of Eevee," Virgil said. "I figured I'd bring you back for lunch since yours got ruined by those Escavalier, so I wanna make it up to you."
"That's really nice of you," Karen said.
"Yeah, thanks, Virgil," Sora said.
"No problem," Virgil said. "We're close to my house anyway."
Virgil led the group through the woods to get to his house, unaware of Meloetta following them. He led the group to see that it is a Pokémon ranch. They saw Bouffalant, Blitzle, Zebstrika, Mareep, Flaaffy, and Ampharos.
"Look at this. Bouffalant, Blitzle, Zebstrika, Mareep, Flaaffy, and Ampharos, too!" Ventus said.
"They're all part of a ranch that my family runs," Virgil said.
"And what about the Pokémon Rescue Squad?" Karen asked.
"My dad and older brother started the squad as volunteers, to help people in need. These days, they're working with Officer Jenny, bringing in anyone who would harm them," Virgil said. "They travel all over the entire Unova region."
"Say, where are the rest of your team?" Ventus asked. Virgil chuckled.
"Okay, I might as well introduce them to you," Virgil said. "Team Eevee, all units deploy!" Team Eevee, consisting of Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon all assembled and stood in line. "And here they all are. All the members of Team Eevee."
"I have to admit, it's cool to see all eight evolved forms of Eevee in one place," Sora said.
"I raised them from Eevee and helped them all evolve," Virgil said.
"That's great and all. You must really love Eevee a lot," Iris said.
"I do," Virgil said. "It all started when I was a little younger, when I had my very first Eevee. I was just starting out and I got too confident for my own good, so we ended up getting lost. And that's when he evolved into an Umbreon before my eyes. It was thanks to Eevee evolving into an Umbreon, we found our way home. Ever since then, I have decided to have an all Eevee team. Umbreon became its first member. As time passed, I caught other Eevee and they all evolved into the other seven evolved forms." Eevee went up to Virgil. "And this is the newest member of Team Eevee."
"Eevee," the Eevee said.
"It looks like you did a great job raising her," Kairi said.
"Thanks, Kairi," Virgil said. "This one recently graduated by helping my dad and older brother to rescue a trapped Cryogonal. They thought we were holding hostage, but we set the Cryogonal free when my older brother set it free from the pipes it was caught in."
"So, which one did you decide to evolve this Eevee into?" Cilan asked.
"Actually, I decided not to evolve her, because she's perfect the way she is," Virgil said.
"That's how Riku felt about his Eevee," Sora said to himself. He remembered the being told about the battle between him and Gladion with his Eevee losing to his Umbreon. Just then, a young man came to the ranch, he is accompanied by a Stoutland.
"Virgil, got done with patrol?" The young man asked.
"Who's he?" Ventus asked.
"That's my older brother Davy. Davy, hey," Virgil said. Davy looked at the group.
"Who are these people?" Davy asked.
"These are people I rescued when Meloetta was attacked by two Escavalier," Virgil said.
"That hunter again? He's a real problem ever since he showed up," Davy said.
"While we're on the subject, where did dad go?" Virgil asked.
"He's with Officer Jenny right now. She thought it was better that he came along," Davy said. "Keep your eyes opened for that hunter." He looked at the group. "Same for you."
"You can count on that," Sora said. Davy left the ranch to go back on patrol. Virgil turned to the group.
"I think I promised you some lunch," Virgil said. With that said, he made enough sandwiches for everyone. "Here you go. Enjoy it."
"Thanks, Virgil. This really makes up for our ruined lunch," Sora said.
"Yeah, that hunter is sure going to pay for that," Iris said.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"Just how long has this Pokémon Hunter been at it?" Cilan asked.
"Just for a week," Virgil said. "The Pokémon Hunter we're after is named Dirk." He takes out a wanted poster of Dirk. "He's been wanted for Pokémon poaching. We got word that he's been targeting Meloetta. Someone is paying a huge amount of money to capture it."
"Doesn't that guy get that Pokémon are living creatures? They shouldn't be bought or sold," Sora said.
"I doubt he would, Sora," Terra said. "Like Ven said, they're the worse of the worse. Nothing about them is forgivable."
Meloetta stayed invisible the whole time and listened to them. For some reason, Meloetta wasn't afraid of them at all. Meloetta felt safe at the ranch.
Over to Dirk, he searched for Meloetta. His frustration was getting the better of him.
"That Pokémon can't be too far away," Dirk said. "But if I can't find Meloetta, then I'll have to burn down the whole forest to force it out!" He turned to his Tyranitar. "Okay, Tyranitar! Use Flamethrower on the whole forest!" Tyranitar fires Flamethrower at one of the trees, setting it on fire.
Back at the house, the group were talking among themselves when Meloetta shows up.
"It's you again," Sora said.
"Meloe," Meloetta said.
"What is it doing here?" Iris asked.
"I have a theory. It's possible that Meloetta has been following us since our interrupted meal, and then, sought refuge here because it felt safe with us around," Cilan said. Meloetta nodded.
"That's one way to hit the nail on the head," Meowth said.
"I thought there would be Pokémon who would start hating humans because of Pokémon Hunters," Ventus said.
"Not all Pokémon are like that, Ven," Aqua said. "But, you are right to think that."
"It's true," Virgil said. "There are Pokémon that'll hate humans because of an traumatic experience, like being chased by a Hunter, or when they have an abusive trainer. Meloetta must have figured not all humans are like that." Just then an alarm goes off.
"What's that?! Ventus asked, covering his ears.
"It's the fire alarm! Team Eevee will have to deploy!" Virgil said, getting out.
"We're coming with you," Sora said.
"We could help out to put the fire out," Kairi added.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Normally I would just say no, but this is an exception! Eevee, Flareon, Umbreon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Espeon, get ready!" Virgil said. They all nodded as Virgil calls them back inside their Pokéballs as he and the rest of the group rushed to the fire. Meloetta went with them, but not before turning invisible.
Over at the forest, wild Pokémon were fleeing from the raging inferno caused by the Tyranitar. Davy and his Stoutland arrives to the scene.
"That guy has crossed the line!" Davy said. Stoutland turned and saw Dirk and his Tyranitar.
"Stout, Stoutland!" Stoutalnd barked. Davy turned to see the hunter.
"Dirk!" Davy said. He and Stoutland went over to the hunter. "Stop what you're doing!" Dirk looked right at Davy. "You have caused so much damage!"
"You can save it for someone who cares! What I care about is getting Meloetta to my clients!" Dirk said.
"Not if I have anything to say about it! As a Pokémon Ranger, and as a member of the Pokémon Rescue Squad, I have an obligation to stop you," Davy said. He turned to his Stoutland. "Go, Stoutland! Use Take Down!" Stoutland charged right at Tyranitar, but the two Escavalier came and attacked with Twineedle. Davy attempted to take out another Pokéball when they fired Energy Ball right at him. "Damn you, Dirk!"
Just then, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Virgil, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair has shown up and saw the fire all around.
"This is terrible!" Kairi said.
"How could someone do this?" Iris asked.
"We have to put this fire out before it gets even more worse!" Sora said.
"Sora's right. We can put the fire out when we work together," Virgil said.
Sora, Kairi, Iris, and Cilan let out their Pokémon to put the fire out. Gigalith used Stone Edge to block the flames as Dewott fires Water Gun at the flames while Vanillish unleashed Powder Snow to help out. Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Servine, Hydreigon, Cofagrigus, Liepard, Reuniclus, Gothitelle, Maractus, Pansage, Amoongus, Ferroseed, Deino, and Druddigon helped out the members of Team Eevee put out the flames. It got even harder when the wind was blowing.
"The wind is making it harder for us to work!" Sora said.
"We have to keep trying!" Terra said.
"Right, keep trying!" Sora said. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Virgil, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and the other Pokémon kept on fighting to put the fire out. The wind and the flames were raging, but they didn't give up. No matter how hopeless it was. As the group were fighting the flames, they spotted Davy and Stoutland.
"Davy!" Virgil called out. This draws Dirk's attention. Meloetta turned visible again much to his delight.
"I got you at last! I knew I draw you out by setting the forest on fire!" Dirk said.
"How could you do such a thing?" Karen called out.
"I'm a Pokémon Hunter. My latest customer is paying me lots of money to nab Meloetta for him," Dirk said.
"Meloetta isn't going to be for sale!" Sora stated.
"And how are you going to stop me?" Dirk asked. "Don't answer, because you won't! Tyranitar! Get rid of these pests with your Hyper Beam!" Tyranitar got ready to fire Hyper Beam when Servine gave Tyranitar a swipe of Leaf Blade. Hyper Beam fired straight in the air.
"Great! After firing Hyper Beam, Tyranitar can't move! Servine! Leaf Blade again!" Sora ordered. Servine jumped and lands another hit with Leaf Blade. "Now use Vine Whip!"
"Escavalier! Use Twineedle!" Dirk ordered. The Escavalier attacked the grass snake Pokémon with Twineedle.
"Servine! Use Attract on them!" Sora ordered. Servine attempted to use Attract, but they were moving too fast for her. Servine was being taken down hard. Servine was still in it as ever. She refused to stay down. Servine started to evolve much to everyone's surprise.
"Servine's evolving!" Karen exclaimed. Servine has now become a Serperior
"Yeah! Serperior!" Ventus said.
"Pika!" Sparky added.
"Evolved or not, it's no match for my Tyranitar! Especially when my Tyranitar can do this! Flamethrower!" Dirk ordered. Tyranitar fired Flamethrower at Serperior.
"Dodge and use Grass Pledge!" Sora ordered. Serperior unleashed Grass Pledge, and it came out even more powerful than when she was a Servine. All of the Pokémon were struck in the attack as was Dirk. He dropped his three Pokéballs and they shattered on the rocks, much to Dirk's dismay. Tyranitar and the Escavalier both took off.
"Tyranitar, Escavalier, come back!" Dirk pleaded. The Pokémon ignored his pleads and took off. Epseon and Umbreon used Psychic on him as Meowth tied him up.
"What a nice present you would make," Meowth said.
"Also, you're going to have loads of time to think of your actions," Cilan started.
"From jail!" Ventus added.
"Good work, guys," Davy said.
"It's not over yet! We still have to put the fire out!" Sora said. Meloetta flew above and heads for the lake. It used its psychic powers on the water, and levitated enough to put the fire out completely. "Thanks a lot, Meloetta! I can bet you were only helping us out because we were trying to protect you, right?" Meloetta nodded. "I'm glad you understand that not all humans are like him! And we can promise he won't be a problem for you ever again!" Meloetta smiled as it turned invisible again.
It didn't take long until, Officer Jenny, along with a middle-aged man with graying hair. Officer Jenny booked Dirk for all his crimes.
"I can't thank you enough for what you did to help out," Davy and Virgil's father said.
"It was no problem, sir," Sora said. "We're just glad Meloetta is safe."
"And I'm sure Meloetta is grateful to you," Davy and Virgil's father said. He turned to his sons. "You boys did an excellent job in keeping the fire contained."
"Thanks, dad, but it was Meloetta that deserves the credit, since it put the fire out," Virgil said.
"He's right, dad. It would've gotten worse of it weren't for Sora and his friends helping out," Davy said.
"Anyway, where are you heading?" Virgil asked.
"We're heading for Humilau City. Sora is going for a tenth Gym Badge," Sora said.
"You're kidding! You got nine?!" Virgil asked in shock. "Does that mean, you'll be training for the Unova Pokémon League, Sora?"
"Yeah, but there's also a Pokémon Contest going on, so Kairi will be competing before I have my battle," Sora said.
"I never would have imagined that you would get more than eight," Virgil said. "I just went for eight and came home to train for the Unova Pokémon League. Maybe, I'll see you there."
"Hope so, Virgil," Sora said. "And when we battle, I'm not going to hold back."
"Wouldn't have it any other way. It'll be an honor to battle you," Virgil said.
With that said, a new rivalry was born. So, the group said their goodbyes to Virgil and his family as they head for Humilau City for Sora's tenth Gym battle, and for Kairi's fifth Contest in Unova. Who knows what other adventures awaits them along the way.
