Episode 481: Road to Humilau City!
Here it is, so I wanna say it'll be the last Gym battle and Contest before Sora and Kairi will be in the upcoming tournaments, so first I wanna say, those will take place after they take down Team Plasma. And second, I will not be accepting any reviews about them losing! I made my point earlier about writing it how ever I want. I have said what I wanted to say, so thank you.
A couple of days has passed since meeting Virgil and Team Eevee of the Pokémon Rescue Squad. So, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were being followed by Meloetta. It wanted to get to know the people and Pokémon who worked together to save it from that Pokémon Hunter.
Along the way, Sora exchanged Gigalith, Cofagrigus, and Hydreigon for Emboar, Eelektrik, and Durant. Sora used a Thunder Stone to make Eelektrik evolve into an Eelektross. Kairi has wondered which ones to use since it is a Triple Contest. She figured she would use Maractus, Swoobat, and Vanillish for the first found, and then Vannilish for the second round with Unfezant and Emolga. With that settled, Kairi exchanged Gothitelle, Reuniclus, and Liepard for Unfezant, Swoobat, and Emolga.
"Okay, Vanillish! Use Icy Wind! Maractus! Use Petal Dance! Swoobat! Use Air Slash!" Kairi ordered. Vanillish Maractus, and Maractus used their chosen moves. They were meshing well together. "Okay, Maractus! Use Pin Missle! Vanillish! Icicle Spear! Swoobat! Heart Stamp!" Swoobat unleashed a pink heart and it makes contact with Icicle Spear and Pin Missle, resulting a pink explosion. It was very marvelous to the eye. Meloetta was astounded by the sight of the dazzling performance.
"How was that?" Kairi asked.
"That was great, Kairi," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora," Kairi said. Sora and Kairi gave each other a kiss on the lips, making Meloetta blush. They parted lips when they noticed they had their Pokémon watching them kissing.
"Pika," Pikachu said sweetly.
"Vee," Angel added.
"How about we go back to some more training?" Sora suggested.
"Yes, let's," Kairi agreed.
Meloetta was still blushing, because it has never seen two humans kissing before.
"I have always wondered how it looked." - Meloetta subtitle.
After some training, the couple decides to have themselves a little break when a boy with brown hair and blue eyes along with a Riolu came running down their way. He wore a yellow shirt with orange stripes on his shoulders, a pair of blue shorts, a pair of white socks and orange-black shoes with white soles. He also wore a red-orange headband and a white scarf.
"Hey, what are you doing in this spot? I called it!" The boy said.
"Um, we didn't know you were going to show up, and we don't even know you," Sora said.
"Well now you kn-" The boy paused when he looked right at Sora. "Hey, wait a sec! Aren't you Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh?!"
"Um, yes?" Sora replied with a question.
"I must be dreaming! If I am, then do not wake me up! I am a huge fan of yours, Mr. Ketchum!" The boy said.
"Don't call me mister. Just Sora will do," Sora said.
"Okay, Sora!" The boy said.
"What's your name?" Sora asked.
"My name's Cameron! Like I said, I am a huge fan! I wanted to meet you forever! I watched your battles in the Sinnoh Pokémon League, so I wanted to meet you ever since!" Cameron said, shaking his hands violently.
"I'm flattered," Sora said. Cameron let's go of Sora's hand and he looked right at Pikachu and Angel.
"Hey! A Pikachu and an Eevee! So awesome!" Cameron exclaimed happily. Riolu greeted Pikachu and Angel with a smile.
"This Eevee belongs to me. Her name's Angel," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Who are you?" Cameron asked.
"I'm Kairi. I'm Sora's girlfriend," Kairi said.
"Girlfriend?" Cameron asked in surprise.
"Yeah. Kairi's been with me ever since I started my Pokémon journey," Sora said.
"It's nice to meet you, Cameron," Kairi said.
"You too," Cameron said. "What brings you here?"
"We're on our way to Humilau City for a Gym battle for me, and a Contest for Kairi," Sora said.
"A Contest?" Cameron asked.
"Kairi's a Pokémon Coordinator," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I never met one of those before," Cameron said.
"You heading there, too?" Kairi asked.
"What for? I have all the Badges I need," Cameron said. "I have a good solid total of seven Gym Badges!" Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were looking at him and asked if he was serious.
"You said seven, right?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, why?" Cameron asked.
"The thing is, you gotta have at least eight Badges to qualify for the Unova Pokémon League. Also, you can choose to go for nine or ten," Sora said. Cameron was looking at Sora surprised.
"Huh?! You mean I have one more Badge to earn?" Cameron asked.
"Yeah," Sora said.
"How does he not know that?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"Aw, man! Nobody told me I had to earn eight!" Cameron exclaimed. He stretched his bandana and he snapped it on his forehead. "I just got an idea! How about I tag along with you? I could get to know you!"
"Since we're heading there anyway, so why not?" Sora asked.
"We don't mind the extra company. Also, I need to get a meal started," Kairi said. With perfect timing, Cameron's stomach growled. "And it sounds like it's perfect timing, right?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah," Cameron sheepishly said. With that said, he joined the couple for lunch as it was raviolis, made by Kairi personally. Cameron was introduced to the rest of the group. Cameron was given a plate by Kairi as Cameron's Pokémon, consisting of a Samurott, a Swanna, a Hydreigon, a Ferrothorn, and a Watchog were eating Pokémon food made by Kairi. Trainer and Pokémon alike took a bite of the food and instantly loved it. "Whoa! This is amazing!" He turned to Kairi. "You made this?"
"I did," Kairi said. "All I did was follow Cilan's recipes carefully."
"Kairi personally requested to use my recipes to cook it for Sora anytime," Cilan said.
"This is so good, you could have your own cooking show," Cameron said.
"You know something, he is right, because you could if you want," Iris said.
"That'll be too much of a hassle," Kairi said, giggling.
"Anyway, Kairi, I can imagine some kind of delectable dish you have planned for the upcoming Contest," Cilan said.
"You'll see it, Cilan said.
"So, what's the deal with Pokémon Contests?" Cameron asked.
"Granted that the Unova region never had one before, Pokémon Contests are competitions where Pokémon Coordinators competes in," Terra explained. "Pokémon Contests consists of two rounds. First, there's the appeals round. The object is to demonstrate moves showing off their beauty, coolness, cuteness, toughness, and their cleverness. After the appeals round, the Pokémon Coordinators who made it far heads into the second round which is the battle stage. There's a five minute limit, and the object of the battle is to take out as much as the other's points as possible before time runs out."
"Whoa, I never thought a Contest had a battle part. I just thought it was all showing off," Cameron said.
"And there's more," Aqua said. "The winning Coordinator is reward a Contest Ribbon. Each Coordinator has to win five each to qualify for the Grand Festival. Kairi has to win one more Ribbon to qualify." Kairi shows Cameron the Ribbons she won.
"You won those?" Cameron asked.
"I did," Kairi said.
"Also, one of the judges is the Gym Leader Marlon," Ventus said.
"So that's the Gym Leader's name! I'm going to challenge Marlon to a battle!" Cameron stated.
"Well, you would have to wait until after the Contest," Sora said.
"Aw man," Cameron said.
After they had their meal, Cameron joins Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair to Humilau City. Cameron and Riolu were stoked they were traveling with Sora of all trainers.
As they traveled towards Humilau, Ventus felt something a little cold on his cheek just now.
"Huh?" Ventus asked.
The group made a stop.
"Why did you stop, Ven?" Aqua asked.
"I just thought I felt something cool just now," Ventus said.
"You sure you didn't just imagine it?" Iris asked as it started to rain. "Never mind!"
"We gotta get out of the rain!" Karen said.
"I got something to keep us dry for a little while!" Cameron said, taking out a table cloth. It was only able to cover himself and Cilan.
"You really don't think things all the way through, do you?" Aqua asked.
"How was I supposed to know it wasn't big enough for us?" Cameron asked.
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Cameron, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Riolu ran through the rain, trying to find a dry place. They kept looking until Meowth spotted a cave.
"Guys, look! A cave! We can stay in there!" Meowth said. The rest of the group saw the cave.
"Good eye, Meowth!" Sora said. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Cameron, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Riolu all ran inside the cave to keep themselves dry from the rain.
"So glad we found this cave," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"So am I," Terra said. "And good thing, too, because it's starting to get even worse." The rain came down even harder. "And judging how it looks, we're going to be here for a while."
"I hope it's not too long, because I'm not wild about being in a cave like a troll," Karen said.
"Might as well make the most of it," Ventus said. "The plus side is we can see a beautiful rainbow when it stops raining."
With that said, everyone all got settled as they started to share some stories with one another. And then, it came time to eat.
"Okay, who's hungry, because it's time to eat," Sora taking out a sandwich.
"Good thinking, Sora. You gotta have some eats when on the road," Cameron said, digging into his backpack. He took out all the stuff that were inside it. "Hey, I thought I had my lunch in there." He realized that he left it somewhere and someone might have already found it by now. "Aw man!" Cameron hung his head. Sora just shook his head and gave him half of his.
"Here," Sora said, giving him half of his. "You should eat, too." Cameron took the half of the sandwich.
"Thanks, man," Cameron said. He took a bite of the sandwich half. "This is the best!"
"If not knowing that he needed at least eight is one thing, but forgetting about his lunch just makes him more of a kid than Ven," Iris said to herself.
"Axew," Axew said.
As they ate their sandwiches, they felt satisfied with slightly full bellies. The weather was still going bad as heavy winds were picking up.
"It's really bad out there," Cameron said.
"And what gave that away?" Meowth asked with a hint of sarcasm. "At least it can't get even wor-" Thor placed his paw over Meowth's mouth.
"Don't even say it." - Thor subtitle.
Elsewhere, Team Plasma has infiltrated an ancient ruin in search for the Light Stone. As they went through, a horde of Sigilyph attempted to stop them, but they sent their Krokorok to attack them since their Psychic Type moves won't affect them. After fighting their way through, they finally found the Light Stone. They obtained the Light Stone and started to head back.
"Lord Ghetsis, we have obtained the Light Stone. We are returning now," a Team Plasma grunt reported.
"Good," Ghetsis said. "Return immediately."
"Sir," the Team Plasma grunt said.
In the castle, Ghetsis laughed evilly.
"This is even working even better than I would have thought. With the dragons of light and darkness, the power to rule the world will be easy as pie! And the only one who has Pokémon by his side will be me!" Ghetsis said.
Dark clouds looms over the castle as lightning crashes. Over to N, he has entered an area where two young women from N's memories are waiting for him. He looked at the two women.
"Anthea, Concordia," N said. He looked back to the ground.
"We warned you no good would come from wondering places inhabited by humans," Anthea said.
"We saw how cruel humans are with Pokémon, which is why we had cut all ties with humanity altogether," Concordia said.
"There is something I must do," N said. Anthea and Concordia both looked at him. He looked back at them. "I must save Pokémon everywhere. The Unova region isn't the only place that displays Pokémon cruelty, so we must go everywhere and liberate every Pokémon we come across. And we will start with father and Team Plasma."
"You cannot be serious, N," Concordia said. "He will try to force you to be their king."
"She's right. He will try to stop you," Anthea said.
"I can't just sit around and do nothing," N said. "Pokémon cannot be allowed to suffer any longer. I won't allow their suffering!" He took his leave as Anthea tried to stop him.
"N, stop!" Anthea called out to him.
"Let him go, Anthea," Concordia said. She knew it would be pointless to try and stop him. "Nothing we do will make him change his mind. But there is one thing he is right about." Anthea looked at her.
"What?" Anthea asked.
"Father must be stopped," Concordia said.
Anthea agreed with her, but she couldn't help but worry about him. She had to pray he would be safe.
Back at the cave, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Cameron, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Riolu were all sleeping soundly. Sora's visions were kicking in again as he sees the same castle and he sees Ghetsis in it.
Sora woke up and he was panting heavily as he looked around. Everyone else were sleeping soundly. He noticed it stopped raining, and the winds have calmed down, so he decided to step out. It was still dark out, so he needed the fresh air to clear his head. It didn't take Kairi long before she noticed. She could tell something was bothering him. Sora looked up to the dark sky with the vision still fresh in his mind. Kairi approached her boyfriend.
"Sora?" Kairi asked with concern. Sora turned to her. Sora could tell she was concerned about him. "What's the matter?"
"Had that vision again," Sora said.
"This is the fourth time, Sora," Kairi said. "And I know it's getting worse just by looking at you."
"You're right. It is getting worse. I think something is gonna happen and soon," Sora said. Kairi placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Whatever it is they're planning, we'll stop it," Kairi assured her boyfriend. She embraced him in her arms. "We faced the end of the world coming our way before, and we didn't let that stop us. And nothing is going to stand in our way." Sora smiled because he knew she was right. He embraces her back.
"You always were there for me, and I wouldn't trade it for anything," Sora said. "You always did know how to make me feel better. This is why I love you, Kairi."
"I love you, too, Sora," Kairi said.
Sora and Kairi kissed each other with so much passion. He parted lips as the sun was starting to rise. Sora and Kairi were both glad they got up because they got to see a beautiful sunrise. Meloetta was watching them and smiled. Meloetta became visible again.
"Meloetta," Meloetta said.
"Meloetta, were you following us?" Sora asked.
"Etta," Meloetta said.
"I'm going to guess it's because we helped it out from that hunter, right?" Sora asked. Meloetta nodded. "If you wanted to hang with us, then we'll be more than happy to welcome you to our circle of friends."
Meloetta beamed at being welcomed by the couple. They returned to the cave as they saw the rest of the group.
"Sora, Kairi, got up for a romantic sighting of the sunrise?" Cilan asked.
"That's one way of putting it," Sora said, chuckling nervously.
Cameron saw Meloetta with the couple.
"Hey, who's that Pokémon?" Cameron asked.
"This is Meloetta," Kairi said.
"Meloetta? How cool!" Cameron said, making Meloetta turn invisible again. "Was it something I said?"
"Maybe you just surprised it," Kairi said.
"How did you meet Meloetta?" Cameron asked.
"We came across Meloetta when it was being chased by a Pokémon Hunter just a few days ago," Terra said. "The hunter almost burned down the whole forest when we went to stop him."
"It was Meloetta who finished putting it out," Aqua finished.
"Until today, we had no idea Meloetta was following us," Sora said.
"So, Meloetta is joining us for the ride," Kairi said.
"Letta," Meloetta said.
The group continued down the road to Humilau City until they eventually reached it.
"It's been a while since we've seen the ocean," Ventus said. "It feels like it's been so long, I almost forgot what it looks like."
"You and me both, Ven," Terra said. "Let's head on down to the Pokémon Center, and maybe hit the beach later."
"I like the sound of that," Karen said.
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Cameron, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Riolu, and Meloetta all headed for the local Pokémon Center. Meloetta turned invisible again to avoid attracting some unwanted attention to itself. Inside the Pokémon Center, they spotted a familiar face; it was Marlon, picking up a couple of his Pokéballs.
"Marlon!" Sora called out. Marlon turned around to see Sora at the entrance.
"No way!" Marlon exclaimed. "Sora! And Kairi too! When did you get here?!"
"Just now. Haven't seen you since the Whirl Cup," Sora said. He spots Ventus, Terra, and Aqua with the couple, along with some unfamiliar faces.
"I know you three. You were in Johto when I saw you," Marlon said.
"It's been a while, Marlon," Aqua said.
"Totally," Marlon said. He noticed the Alolan nine weren't with them. "So where are your other friends, especially that Lana?"
"They're back home in Alola, running their own Gyms ever since it got its own Pokémon League," Sora said. "But one of them is doing some research around the world."
"Cool! What brings all of you here?" Marlon asked.
"I'm here for a Pokémon Contest," Kairi said.
"And I came here for a Gym battle. Thought we could have a rematch," Sora said. "But we heard that you're one of the judges, so I decided to wait."
"Good call, because I'm not gonna be accepting challenges until after the Contest," Marlon said. "How many Badges did you win?"
"I got nine," Sora said. "I'll be going for ten." Marlon laughed.
"I thought you would like a challenge, Sora," Marlon said. The Contest isn't until a few days away, so why don't you just enjoy yourselves here and have some fun in the sun?"
"That's what we had in mind," Karen said.
"I should introduce you. This I Karen, my long lost twin sister. This is Iris, from the Village of Dragons, and this is Cilan, one of the Gym Leaders of the Striaton City Gym," Sora introduced.
"And I'm Cameron. Like him, I'll also be battling you," Cameron said.
"Which one wants to go first after the Contest?" Marlon asked. Cameron flinched when they were asked that.
"I didn't think of that," Cameron said.
"Of course," Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, and Meowth all said in their thoughts. He stretched his bandana and slammed it into his forehead and he gets an idea.
"How about we let Sora have it first! I would like to see that!" Cameron said.
"Is that okay with you, Sora?" Marlon asked.
"I'm down with it," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Cameron grinned as he nodded, but he quickly realized that he won't be battling him sooner than he planned.
"Shoot! What was I thinking?" Cameron exclaimed in his thoughts.
A little later, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair all hit the beach.
Sora was now wearing a pair of red and black swimming trunks.
Kairi was now wearing a light blue bikini with purple hearts.
Ventus wore gold swimming trunks.
Terra is wearing a pair brown swimming trunks.
Aqua is wearing an indigo bikini.
Karen is wearing a white two piece swimsuit with pink flowers and a matching skirt.
Iris wore a light pink one-piece bathing suit, with a dark pink ribbon at the chest.
And Cilan wore a pair of swimming trunks that is dark yellow, with a light green stripe and a dark green stripe at each side.
They had some fun on the beach while Meowth was catching some rays along with Meloetta.
"Nothing beats getting a good tan, right Meloetta?" Meowth asked.
"Etta," Meloetta agreed.
"Kinda wish Jessie and James were here, because they would love it here. And maybe, bring little Edward here. Wonder how that little guy's doing." Just when the couple were swimming, an Alomomola swam by and started to join in by firing Hydro Pump, making Sora and Kairi fly out of the water. They make a crash landing onto Meowth. "This makes my top five of the most unexpected mishaps."
The rest of the group came out of the water out of concern for Sora and Kairi.
"Sora, Kairi! Are you okay?" Iris asked with concern. Sora and Kairi both got up, off of Meowth.
"A little tender, but I'm good, but it's Kairi I'm more concerned about," Sora said.
"I'm okay," Kairi assured. "Not sure what caused that to happen." Splashing is heard as Cilan turned to the sea.
"I think I know what caused it! Look!" Cilan said, pointing to the water. They all turned to see Alomomola in the water.
"What is that?" Karen asked.
"It's an Alomomola," Cilan said.
"She didn't have to do that," Kairi said. She took out a Pokéball and opened it. "Come out, Swoobat!" Swoobat came out of the Pokéball. "Okay, Swoobat! Use Air Slash!" Swoobat unleashed Air Slash, striking Alomomola. The caring Pokémon goes flying, but came back with a vengeance when she attacked with Aqua Jet. Swoobat is hit hard.
"That was Aqua Jet!" Iris exclaimed.
"Swoobat! Use Steel Wing!" Kairi ordered. Swoobat flew right at Alomomola with Alomomola, but she dove in the water to dodge. Swoobat looked around until Alomomola came out of the water, behind her. "Look out right behind you!" Swoobat turned to see Alomomola fire Water Pulse at her. "Use Psychic!" Swoobat lifts Alomomola up with Psychic. "Now, use Heart Stamp!" Swoobat fires Heart Stamp and it struck Alomomola hard. "Air Slash!" Swoobat gave one more hit with Air Slash. Alomomola tumbles on the shore as Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. Alomomola flows inside it. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box goes off asking her if she wants to keep Alomomola with her. She chose to send Alomomola to Professor Oak's lab. "That's the kind of play we didn't need."
"Good catch, Kairi," Sora said, making Kairi blush.
"Thanks, Sora," Kairi said.
"You sure you're not too hurt too badly?" Sora asked.
"I told you, I'm fine. I should be more concerned for you," Kairi said. Their friends were smiling as they looked at the couple ad Meowth was getting up.
"Don't worry about me, I'm just peachy! I'm as peachy as peaches and cream," Meowth said.
Now that the group has made it to Humilau City, Sora and Kairi will each have their final challenges in Unova before the Unova Pokémon League and Grand Festival. How will they fare in the upcoming challenges? Just you wait and find out.
