The next morning Maddison woke early. The sun was slowly starting to shine through her bed room window. Maddie closed her eyes and threw a pillow over her head trying to go back to sleep. She had had a very weird dream the night before. She had been walking through an empty Alley when a snake had appeared and told her to be careful of the dangers that lie ahead and then slithered away.
Maddie was still very confused as too what her dream had ment but she didn't have very long to think about it before he Uncle knocked on the door.
"Come on! We're going to Diagon Alley to get your stuff for school!" he said and threw a pillow at her. Maddie instantly perked up at the thought and rushed into her closet to get dressed.
Once she had finished getting ready she zoomed down the stairs and waited patiently Infront of the door, her dream forgotten
"Alright, ready to go?" Uncle Moony asked putting on his shoes. "Yes!" Maddison cried happily.
The trip to Diagon Alley took far too long in Lyra's opinion and she spent the hour and a half listing to music and asking her Uncle questions about Hogwarts and the different houses.
Once they arrived at the leaky coldron (a small dark pub invisible to everyone who doesn't know it's there) her Uncle turned towards her
"Right, got your letter Maddie?" Uncle asked. Maddie noded and pulled out a piece of paper out of her pocket and read:
HOGWARTS SCHOOL
of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY
UNIFORM
First-year students will require:
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4.One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags.

PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS
Maddie didn't perticilarly like the rule about the broomsticks but didn't say anything. The moment they walked into the pub all heads turned to them and gaped at Maddison. Maddie grinned and watched as everyone scrambled out of their chairs to greet her. She didn't mind the fame even though it could be a bit annoying at times, She was used to it because she had grown up with it.
Uncle Moony moved her through the crowd and toward a large prick wall. He then pulled out his wand and tapped the wall three times. Suddenly, the brick he had touched started to wiggle and then moved creating a hole which grew bigger and bigger until the wall had fully disapeared. Maddie gasped, no matter how often she came to Diagon Alley it never lost it's amaze factor. She turned around and saw that the wall had already put itself together again.
"Right, Let's go to Gringotts!" Aunt Moony exclaimed and the pair walked through the Alley.
Maddie tried to look at all the shops but they were walking to quickly. As they walked past flourish and blotts, a large family of red heads walked out and Maddie heared one of them exclaim "I need a new coldron Mum!"
They arrived at Gringotts (the wizarding bank). Maddie silently read the words engraved on the doors:
Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.
"You'd be mad to try and steal from here." Uncle Moony said opening the doors
"Definitely crazy!" Maddison agreed
They walked past the rows of goblins counting galleons at their desks. Uncle Moony said something to the Goblin at the front but Maddie had tuned out and looked around a bit more. She stared at the engravments on the desk but wasn't able to actually read the ruens. Her Uncle snapped her out of her thoughts and pulled her to the small cart down the hall.
The moment they got in the cart lurches forward and started racing down yh narrow paths underneath Gringotts. Maddie gasped when they finally stopped infront of a reagle looking voult.
The words "Eskhatos ekhthros katargeitai o thanatos" were engraved into the marble stone. Maddie instantly recognized it as the Potter Family motto meaning "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death". They jumped out of the cart and made their way through the voult.
Her Uncle turned to the Goblin "I ment Maddison's trust voult not the Potter Family voult but it will work none the less." he said and guided her into a circular marble room with multiple voult doors.
"Come on." Her Uncle said, as she went to put some of the Money into a small pouch.
"You'll be the head of the Potter Family in around six years..." Her Uncle told her once she had walked back over to him
"I have already told the Griphook, the Goblin, that you will take an inheritance test after your second year. Ok?" He asked Maddie nodded and walked back towards the cart.
Once they had gotten out of the Bank they decided to split up. Maddie would go to Madame Malkin's and then to Olivander's and her Uncle would go get everything else. After that they decided to meet at Floor... Ice cream shop.
Once she stepped into Madame Malkin's shop, Madame Malkin instantly started fitting her robes, as the door chimed. A girl with platinum blond hair walked in, she had her nose stuck up in the air, as if she wanted to say that she is better than everyone else. "Hey." Maddie said grinning. The girl looked at her and wrinkled her nose slightly
"I'm Ursula Malfoy. So, what house do you want to be in? I myself will obviously be in Slytherin. The best house there is." She said stiffly.
Maddie found the start of this conversation very odd but gave small laugh and turned towards her nonetheless, a sceam beginning to form in her head.
"I don't really care. You know you're name reminds me of the evil sea witch form the little mermaid!" Maddie said smirking "She swims with the fishes and shrimp."
Maddie laughed silently at the look on Ursula's face. Scowling Ursula turned towards her "You don't care what house you get sorted into! But then you might end up with all those bloodtraitors and Mudbloods!"
Maddie hissed at this she couldn't believe how someone could be so predjudice.
"Go to hell, Shrimpy!" she exclaimed and marched out of the shop with her new robes after paying Madame Malkin.
Next she went to Olivander's Wand shop, the moment she entered an old voice croacked
"Miss Potter I have been expepting you. Let's try this one! " before pushing a wand into her hands. Maddie waved it slightly causing all of the wands to fly out of the shelves.
"No definitely not." Olivander quickly waved his own wand and everything cleaned itself up. Maddison instantly made a mental note to learn that spell at Hogwarts. They went through about 20 other Wands before Olivander pulled out a wand whispering the words "I wonder" over and over again.
She took the Wand and waved it, an amazing warm feeling come over her causing her to grin.
"How curious! 12 1/2 inches long, walnut and Dragon heartstring. I remember every Wand I have ever sold and in all my life this is the only wand in the world that is a duplicate." Maddie gasped and examined the wand
"Who's duplicate is it Mr. Olivander? " Maddie asked curiously
"Bellatrix Lestrange's" He said simply causing Maddie's jaw to drop.
"I expect you will do amazing things Miss. Potter. After all Bellatrix is a wicked but very powerful witch." Maddie quickly paid the wand and left the shop not wanting to be in the shop longer than she needed to be.
Maddison met up with her Uncle, who had surprised her by buying her a beautiful Owl she named Eclipse. Maddie spent the rest of the day looking around Diagon Alley.
Once she had arrived back home and had dinner. She went to bed and dreamt of all the things sh meight experience at Hogwarts.
