Chapter 24
A Day in the clouds
Oliver P.O.V.
After Ava, Hugo, and me, returning all of our Pokemon to their Pokeballs, we all took an afternoon nap with me and Ava snuggling, and everyone else all over the ship. Then after I woke up and decided to check on everyone. And as I got up, I noticed Ava was still asleep, So I gave her a kiss on her forehead. I miss doing that. And then I started to walk around the ship, and the first Person I ran into was Yuri, who was passing a little with Bisharp and Bantte sleeping nearby.
"Hey Yuri what's up?" I asked Yuri. "I was just thinking of Judith. She caused the guild a major headache. Breaking blastias all on her own." Yuri said to me. "We all have a reason for doing what we do." I said to Yuri. "Maybe, but there's no getting around the fact, no matter what her reasons. We have to settle this." Yuri said to me. "Just keep your sword in your sheath. Or do I need to remind you that we're being held in the air by her friend." I said to Yuri as I pointed up. "You have a point." Yuri said to me.
"Of course I do. Now do you want to help me talk to everyone else?" I asked Yuri. "What about them?" Yuri asked me, as he pointed to his Pokemon. "Let them sleep. They earn it." I said to Yuri, before we started to walk. The first person we ran into was Karol, who was sitting in front of the cabin door with Mawile and Skiddo, sleeping on both of Karol's sides.
"Are you thinking about Judy?" Yuri asked Karol, in a quiet voice. "Yeah. I'm wondering what we should do about her?" Karol said to Yuri and me with a quiet voice. Then me and Yuri took a seat next to Karol. "It's true that she broke the guild's laws and betrayed us." Yuri said to Karol, still keeping a quiet voice. "But she's still our friend and it's hard to give fair judgment to your friend." I said to Karol, with a quiet voice.
"I always thought that a guild's strict adherence to its own laws was what kept it together. That there could be no exceptions… No lenience for those who would break the laws. But…" Karol said to us, with a quiet voice. "But this isn't a random person in the guild. It's a founding member and a close friend." I said to Karol, still being quiet. "And she did what she did to save the world. Judy is destroying blastia because she knows it's the right thing to do, even if it makes people hate her." Yuri said to Karol, still being quiet.
"Yup… Judith didn't break our laws in order to do something bad. I know this, now. I'm going to talk with her about it and give it some more thought. I'll figure this out eventually." Karol said to Yuri, with a determined, quiet voice. "Oh Yeah?" Yuri said to Karol, quietly, as he and I got up. "Maybe if I become a little bit more decisive. Nan will listen to me, too…" Karol said to us. "Karol. I know you care about Nan. but I don't think anything you say to Nan, will make her change her mine." I said to Karol with a quiet voice and placed a hand on Karol's right shoulder.
"What do you mean?" Karol asked me. "Karol, Nan thinks we're the monsters here. That we are twisting the Guilds and the Empire into monster lovers. She even said that Pokemon are taking away their jobs. To Nan we are the villains here." I said to Karol in a quiet voice as I removed my hand from Karol's shoulder. "But maybe if I can convince her that Pokemon are good. Then things can get better." Karol said to me, still being quiet. "Try if you want. But let me ask you a question? Would you rather have a woman by your side that is full of rage and doesn't care about you? Or Skiddo and Mawile, two Pokemon that care about you a lot, and want you to be happy?" I asked Karol, quietly.
Karol then looked at Mawile and Skiddo, as they had smiles on their faces and snuggled up to Karol even more than when we got there. Karol then put an arm around both of them. "It's your choice Karol. A woman full of hate, or these two Pokemon that are full of love." I said to Karol, quietly, before me and Yuri left Karol.
The next person we ran into was Raven who was alone with Sableye and Drilbur on where to be seen. "So does an ol' man past his prime fit into the picture at all?" Raven said as he noticed us walking to him. "What're you whining about, old man? Why are you past your prime?" Yuri asked Raven. "Yeah care to explain?" I asked Raven. "Mmmm. What Judith was talkin' about before- Hermes blastia, was it? Blastia created with techniques that should've been lost in the war are still active… Do you two know what this means?" Raven asked us.
"I guess someone who survived the war brought either blastia or those techniques back with him." Yuri said to Raven. "Or in the chaos. Some thieves smuggled them out." I said to Raven and Yuri. "If that person or people was still usin' the blastia even though he knew it was harmful ta the earth… People like that… would have to be quite the villain indeed." Raven said to us.
"Old man, don't tell me you…?" Yuri asked Raven. "Hey now. Yours truly was nothing, but an innocent youth on the straight and narrow back then. I wouldn't do something like that even on my worst day." Raven said to Yuri. "Heh, I was just trying to trick you into giving yourself away. You're a slippery one!" Yuri said to Raven. "Son of a… when're ya gonna learn some respect for yer elders!" Raven said to Yuri. "For you, probably never." I said to Raven, as me and Yuri left him.
The next person we ran into was Estelle who was looking over the side, with Audino and Togetic standing next to her looking over the side with her, "Oh, Yuri. Oliver." Estelle said to us. "Sorry to interrupt while you're thinking." Yuri said to Estelle. "What are you thinking about?" I asked Estelle. "Ever since I took Belius' life without meaning to… I've wanted to know what it means to be the Child of the Full Moon so the same thing doesn't happen again… I always thought that it was my duty to know. But after what happened to Belius…" Estelle said to us, before losing her words.
"That's how everyone is. They do something, they learn, they do something else, they learn more." Yuri said to Estelle. "You too, Yuri." Estelle said to Yuri. "Yeah." Yuri said to Estelle. "You have to learn how to crawl, before you can walk, and walk before you can run, that's the nature of learning." I said to everyone. "Maybe if I had known everything ahead of time. I wouldn't have made any mistakes." Estelle said to us.
"There's only one thing I can say for sure." Yuri said to everyone. "What's that?" Estelle asked Yuri. "Maybe you wouldn't have made any mistakes. But it sure would've been boring." Yuri said to Estelle. "I really wonder…" Estelle said to Yuri. "Estelle. Mistakes are going to happen. There's no point in thinking about what else you could have done. You just need to learn from your mistakes." I said to Estelle, before me and Yuri left her.
As we left her we passed Riolu and Corvisquire. Who was looking off into the distance. "I wonder what they're thinking about?" Yuri asked me. "Maybe Flynn. Despite what Flynn's doing. They're still his partners." I said to Yuri. "Do you think they'll even be Flynn's Pokemon again?" Yuri asked me. "Maybe it depends on Flynn." I said to Yuri, as we made it to the head of the ship.
We then found Patty on the edge with Slowpoke and Cramerant on the edge with her. "Don't fall overboard." Yuri said to Patty. "Oh... we'll be careful. Yuri, Oliver, the world sure is big." Patty said to me and Yuri. "Yeah… Even though we're flying this high in the air, we still can't see everything." Yuri said to Patty. "Sometimes you need to be in the sky to remember how small we really are." I said to everyone.
"If the world's this big. I guess it makes sense that there'd be so many things we don't know. It might not make that much of a difference whether I get my memories back or not." Patty said to us. "Are you saying you'd be okay with not getting them back?" Yuri asked Patty. "I'm saying that I'm not the only one who feels restless and anxious not knowing the truth. Everyone's worried about something… Even you two and Estelle." Patty said to us.
"You think so?" Yuri asked Patty. "Isn't that why everyone's here? Isn't that why Judy came back?" Patty asked us. "And… is that why you're here too?" Yuri aked Patty. "I don't want to be alone." Patty said to us. "Patty you'll never be alone. You have us. And you'll always have Slowpoke and Cramerant. They may be silly, but they'll stand by you." I said to Patty. "Yeah. They are pretty silly." Patty said to me. "Y'know, you're being pretty honest today." Yuri said to Patty. "I'm always honest." Patty said to Yuri. "Really? Well, maybe you are…" Yuri said to Patty, before me and Yuri walked away.
We then moved inside the capin to see a sleeping Judith on one of the beds, with Flygon, and Shelgon, sleeping next to her. Rapede was watching Judith, and Hugo sitting on a chair next to Judith, while watching Rita, who was sitting next to the main table, with the ship's broken blastia on the table, and Duosion and Metang resting in the back of the room.
We walked to Rita. "Is that the core from the ceres blastia that Judy destroyed?" Yuri asked Rita. "Yes. It's definitely cut with a different formula than a usual core. It looks like what she said was true." Rita said to us. "Of course she was." Hugo said to Rita. "She did say, she wasn't too good at lying, after all." Yuri said to Rita.
"To discover that the new technique you created was bad for the world, after what must've been years of research… I can't imagine how the person who created the Hermes technique must've felt." Rita said to us. "My guess. He was in a lot of pain. If he made this technique to help protect the world, only to learn you only hurt the world. Then it must have been devastating to him." I said to Rita. "What about you Rita? What if it had been you?" Yuri asked Rita.
"If I found out that it hurt the earth. I would have to do something about it. But I wouldn't destroy the blastia like that…" Rita said to us. "I imaganged the guy who created the Hermes blastia felt. He might have stopped, but I doubt he could destroy his work." I said to Rita. Then a surprised look appeared on Rita's face. "What the?" Yuri said, surprised by Rita's reaction. "You okay Rita?" I asked Rita. "It's… it's nothing." Rita said to me. "You hesitated there. What's wrong?" I asked Rita.
"Arr… If only things weren't so complicated… I could've just blasted her into oblivion and been done with it!" Rita said to us, earning her a mean look from Hugo. "Well just don't do anything. I don't want to clean up any blood stains. And I'm talking to both of you." I said to Rita and Hugo, as me and Yuri left the cabin.
"Well I'm going back to Ava. you probably should go back to Bisharp and Banette." I said to Yuri. "Okay." Yuri said as we went our separate ways. When I got back to Ava, who was still asleep. I then took a seat next to her. "I wonder when you return." Ava said to me. "I guess your wake?" I said to Ava. "Where'd you go?" Ava asked me. "I was checking on everyone." I said to Ava. "And how are they?" Ava asked me. "Tired and confused, all of them." I said to Ava. "Hopefully things will be okay in the morning." Ava said as she snuggled next to me. "Yeah hopefully." I said as I snuggled next to her. Then the two of us went back to sleep.
The next morning after everyone woke up, we all gathered around the side of the cabin, waiting for Judith and Hugo, and Judith's Pokemon to come out. "Morning. Yuri, Oliver." Karol said as he walked to us with Skiddo and Mawile by his side. "Morning." Yuri said to Karol. "It's a beautiful morning, but…" Estelle said to everyone. "But what?" Ava asked Estelle. "Even as we stand here, the aer is out of balance… and our world may already be dying." Estelle said to everyone.
"That's right." Judith said to Estelle as she, Hugo, Flygon, and Shelgon exited the cabin. "Judy!" Patty said to Judith, as we all turned to Judith and Hugo. "Well, look who's feeling better." Raven said to Judith. "Well morning Judith and Hugo, and what did you mean by Estelle's right?" I asked Judith. "In the past, these slight fluctuations of the aer have not negatively affected our world. There have always been beings who maintained the balance by sensing changes in the aer flow. Beings like Phaeroh and Ba'ul- the Entelexeia." Judith said to everyone.
"So the Entelexeia were responsible for keeping the aer balanced?" Estelle asked Judith. "For ages, the Entelexeia have regulated the aer. But the recent increase has been greater than they could control." Judith said to everyone. "Which is bein' caused by the Hermes blastia." Raven said to Judith. "And which is also why you were going around, taking down as many of them as you could." Yuri said to Judith.
"Judith you have to tell us the truth. We need to know why you did what you did." I said to Judith. Judith then sighed. "Yes, that was my mission. The path I walk with Ba'ul. To whom I owe my life." Judith said to everyone. "The path you walk..." Karol said to Judith. "Now some would even hunt the Entelexeia for apatheia. This has made the mission of the Entelexeia even more difficult." Judith said to everyone.
"And it doesn't help that the Entelexeia has a small population to begin with." Hugo said to everyone. "Care to explain Hugo?" I asked Hugo. "From what Belius told me. Many lost their lives in the Great War, and they have a slow birth rate." Hugo said to Belius. "What do you mean slow birth rate?" Estelle asked hugo. "Belius said that since the Entelexeia lived for a really long time. They don't need to give birth at the same rate humans do." Hugo said to everyone.
"Just out of curiosity. How old can the Entelexeia live?" Ava asked Hugo. "Belius told me that she met Zygarde back when she was Karol's age in Entelexeia years, and was a little older than Raven when she died. And the age for Entelexeia is about a year for them, is ten years for us." Hugo said to Everyone. "And now people are hunting them for apatheia, great." I said to everyone as I crossed my arms.
"Why is everybody so crazy about these apatheia, anyway?" Yuri asked Judith and Hugo. "I'm afraid I don't have an answer." Judith said to Yuri. "But I have a theory. Belius told me that an apatheia is like iron. You need apatheia to make things, just like you need iron to make weapons. So my theory is that someone is making something." Hugo said to Yuri.
"But apatheia is much more than a pretty rock. The aer an Entelexeia absorbs becomes condensed within its body over time. When its life is at an end. That condensed aer forms a crystal- and apatheia. That's all I know. I imagine Phaeroh could shed more light on the subject, though." Judith said to everyone. "So Apatheia are crystals of concentrated aer… if that's true, and the energy could be extracted from the apatheia. It would be a source of overwhelming power, I'm sure." Rita said to everyone. "Could we really do that?" Estelle asked Rita.
"I… I don't know." Rita said to Estelle. "And here I thought you were a blastia researcher." Hugo said to Rita. "What did you say to me?" Rita said, getting a little mad. "Remember what Duke said in Yormgen "It simply lacks an inscribed formula". What he meant was that an apatheia is an unrefined blastia core. All you had to do was refined. Think of it as turning a crystal into a ring." Hugo said to Rita.
"But if that's possible, there must be tons of guys who want those things." Patty said to everyone. "Maybe, but I doubt many know what they're doing. They are probably either blinded by the money, or by rage like the Hunting Blades." I said to Patty. "In any case. I'd bet somebody wants ta build something like Hugo said. But for the wrong reasons." Raven said to everyone. "Why didn't you tell us all this from the beginning?" Karol asked Judith. "Seriously. We could have avoided all this trouble if you'd just talked to us. Am I wrong?" Yuri asked Judith.
"Even if you had known… there are things not even you could have prevented." Judith said to Yuri. "What do you mean?" Karol asked Judith. "She's talking about stuff like the Hunting Blades attack on Nordopolica. Even if you all knew the truth. The Hunting Blades would have still raided the city. That is something you couldn't have stopped." Hugo said to Karol.
"Or how we met. I showed up at Heliord because Ba'ul had sensed a disturbance in the aer. Where there was a disturbance, there was sure to be a Hermes Blastia... But what I found there was not a blastia… It was a person. That had never happened before." Judith said to everyone. "So it wasn't like you were looking for Estelle in particular back at Heliord." Yuri said to Judith. "It just so happened that the disturbance you were looking for was Estelle." I said to everyone.
"Correct. For some reason Ba'ul perceived Estelle as a disturbance in the aer. I had to find out why. For the sake of the path I've chosen. It was at that time that Phaeroh first appeared. He seemed to have some idea who Estelle was, and he also knew something about Oliver and Ava." Judith said to everyone. "That explains what you were doing on that bridge in Dahngrest." I said to Judith.
"My mission was to destroy all the Hermes blastia. However, Estelle was obviously not a blastia. I need to make absolutely certain… I made a deal with Phaeroh before Yveltal drove him off, and he agreed to grant me some time." Judith said to everyone. "Time? Time for what?" Ava asked Judith. "You mean…?" Karol asked Judith. "If it became apparent that her existence posed too great a threat, then I… I would kill her." Judith said surprising everyone.
"You What?!" Rita said as she rushed to Judith's side with an angry look on her face, and a sad look on Judith's face. "W-w-wait, Rita!" Patty said as we were all worried that Rita might set Judith on fire. "Srand back Rita, let her finish telling her story." Hugo said to Rita, as he pushed her back a few feet. "Settle down. Obviously Judith reached a different conclusion." Raven said to Rita.
Then things got quiet. "All right. I get it." Yuri said to Judith. "Belius said to you possess a heart of compassion. If you can communicate that to Phaeroh somehow… you may learn what you should do." Judith said to Estelle. "H-hey, there's no real reason for you to fight Phaeroh anymore, right? I mean, we know the Hermes blastia are what's causing the problem and everything. If we just make sure the apatheia don't fall into the wrong hands…" Rita said to Estelle, but I interrupted her.
"But that wouldn't change anything." I said to Rita. "What are you talking about?" Rita asked me. "Judith said Ba'ul followed a disturbance in the aer, that led her to Estelle. So even if we stop or destroy all the Hermes Blastia, it won't change the fact that there's something wired with Estelle. We need to learn more about what's going on. Pulse I still like to learn how the Entelexeia know about Arceus." I said to Rita. "Then Go alone and leave Estelle out of it." Rita said to me.
"It's honorable that you want to keep Estelle safe. But Estelle has the right to make her own choices, and do what she wants." I said to Rita. "And I still want to meet Phaeroh. I want to hear what he has to tell me." Estelle said to Rita. "But…" Rita said to Estelle, as a worried look appeared on her face. "Please try to understand. I have to know more about myself, and take responsibility for who I am." Estelle said to Rita. "All right…" Rita said to Estelle in defeat.
"Sorry, Oliver, Yuri… I don't think we can decide what to do about Judith right away…" Karol said to me and Yuri. "I promise not to leave again until things have been "settled" as you said. I need to accept that responsibly myself." Judith said to Karol. "And I'll make sure she stays this time." Hugo said to everyone. "Let's go and find Phaeroh. We'll finally be getting around to one of the first things we set out to do. We can work out the rest once this is finished." Yuri said to Everyone.
"Judith, I'm sure you know the place Phaeroh calls home, so where is it?" I asked Judith. "There is a rocky crag in the center of the Sands of Kogorh. That is where Phaeroh lives. Ba'ul can take us there." Judith said to everyone. "Okay. let's go. This meeting's been a long time coming." Yuri said to everyone. "Then Judith, if you would be so kind as to ask Ba'ul to take us there?" I asked Judtih. "Of course" Judith said to me, before she went to the head of the ship.
Soon Ba'ul started to move. An hour later we were over Sands of Kogorh heading for a very large rock pillar with very little area to move around on it, with large sharp rock spikes around it. "Is that where Phaeroh lives?" I asked Judith. "Yes." Judith said to me.
"Okay well give our history with him. Maybe we should have Blastoise, Gallade, and Houndoom out." I said to Hugo and Ava. "Why Blastoise and not Manectric?" Hugo asked me. "Simple last time we met him Mega Blastoise was able to deal damage." I said to Hugo. "Yeah, but I think Phaeroh is like a Fire / Flying type. So Houndoom and Gallade aren't going to be that useful." Ava said to me. "True, but remember we hurt Beilus when we used Mega Evolution. So I doubt Phaeroh will feel anything, but Mega Evolution." I said to Ava. "Fair point." Ava said before we let out our Pokemon.
A few minutes later we landed at the top of the middle rock pillar. "So this is where Phaeroh is?" Yuri said to everyone. "How did we miss this thing." I said as I looked over the side. "So is Phaeroh up a head?" Ava asked Judith. "Maybe. I wasn't able to see him when we came to the desert, but I think this is where we can meet him." Judith said to Ava. "I hope nothing bad will happen… What if he suddenly attacks us?" Karol asked everyone.
"I can't make any guarantees. I don't think we'll have a say in the matter." Judith said to Karol. "That just means we need to do our best so nothing bad happens." Patty said to everyone. "Karol, are you okay?" Yuri asked Karol. "No. I'm not okay… I should go…" Karol said to everyone. "Karol, I know you're scared, but remember here on top of a pillar. There's nowhere to run. So stay behind me. And I'll do my best to protect you." I said to Karol, placing my hands on Karol's shoulder.
"Phaeroh sure did pick a bleach place ta live in, dontcha think?" Raven asked everyone. "Well if he wanted to be alone, no. to a lot of reasons for a person to come out here." Ava said to Raven. "Actually they say this area used to be covered in lush greenery." Judith said to everyone. "Why did it turn into this rocky desert?" Estelle asked Judith. "Hmm. I don't know that much." Judith said to Estelle. "So then he probably lives here to remind him of something." Hugo said to everyone.
"Estelle, are you really going to meet him? Even though you could be killed?" Rita asked Estelle. "Yes, I've already… made my peace with this decision." Estelle said to Rita, before walking away from the group with Audino and Togetic. Then everyone, but me Yuri, Rita, and our Pokemon, followed Estelle.
"Rita, you've been acting a little funny ever since hearing Judy's story on the ship. Do you have a problem with meeting Phaeroh?" Yuri asked Rita. "Rita you got to tell us what's wrong?" I asked Rita. "I just think it'll be hard on her to heat what he has to say. But it's too late to turn back now. We've come this far, after all." Rita said to us, before she and her Pokemon went after the rest of the group. Yuri and me then gave each other a smile, knowing that even if Rita will never admit it, we both knew she really cared for Estelle. Then the two of us and our Pokemon went after the others.
After walking around on the middle pillar for a bit, we found ourselves in front of a rock, with four spikes surrounding it. "Well, he doesn't seem to be here. M-maybe he's off somewhere taking a nap…" Karol said to everyone. "Phaeroh, you are here, aren't you?" Judith asked. Then a shadow came over us and a familiar cry as well. "Gyaaah!" Karol screamed, before he ran behind me. We all then looked up to see Phaeroh on the rock above us, and I noticed the wounds Yveltal left where still on his neck
"Insipid Poison, you appear before me at last!" Phaeroh said to Estelle. This made all the Pokemon a little on edge, and got them into a fighting stance. "So you are here. Is that how you greet all your guests, Phaeroh? By calling them names?" Yuri asked Phaeroh. "For what reason have you come to me? Surely you are aware that I could end your existence with a mere thought." Phaeroh said to us. "Heh. You talk pretty big, don't you? If you really want a fight. I'd hate to disappoint you." Yuri said to Phaeroh, as he pulled out his sword.
"Yuri put that away. Look Phaeroh, we don't want any trouble, we just want to talk, that's all." I said to Yuri and Phaeroh. "Oliver is right. All I want to do is talk." Estelle said to Phaeroh. "Estelle!" Rita said to Estelle. "Phaeroh, please hear what I have to say!" Estelle said to Phaeroh.
"Does death hold no fear for you, little one? For you gaze now into the mouth of death itself?" Phaeroh asked Estelle. "I am afraid, but I'm even more afraid of dying without knowing who I really am. Belius told me I need to meet you to learn about my destiny. I have to know just what that destiny is. I understand that I am a threat to the Entelexeia. But you said that I am a poison to this world… What is the power I have? Just who is the Child of the Full Moon. If it is true that my existence cannot be tolerated… Then it's okay if I have to die. But I at least deserve to know why it is I have to die! Please Tell me! I beg of you!" Estelle asked Phaeroh.
"There was a time when this was a verdant land sheltered by the blessing of an aer krene." Phaeroh said to Estelle. "So there was an aer krene here." Rita said to Phaeroh. "But what happened? Why did it change?" Estelle asked Phaeroh. "What you see are the result of too much aer and its aftermath. As to why the aer ran rampant… the answer lies with the poison brought by the Child of the Full Moon." Phaeroh said to everyone. "Huh?" Estelle asked Phaeroh.
"The Power of the Child of the Full Moon stimulates the aer krene more than any blastia." Phaeroh said to us. "Huh?" Yuri asked Phaeroh. "Can someone explain what he's talking about?" I asked everyone.
"It's like Hugo said. Blastia convert aer into energy by way of a formula. So if Estelle can use her healing artes without the aid of any blastia. She must possess a formula in her very being that lets her convert aer into energy. Judith was searching for blastia that used a particular kind of formula… So… this special formula Estelle has must also consume massive amounts of aer. Which causes the aer krene to become more active and pump out more aer than they should… I had hoped my hypothesis… would have been wrong." Rita said to me.
"I can't decide if that's super cool or super bad." I said to everyone. "Then I…" Estelle said to herself. "It is as she has said… with each use of her power, the Child of the Full Moon uses far more aer than the blastia… In so doing, the imbalance of aer in the world is furthered. And this is why Arceus appeared." Phaeroh said to us. "Huh?" I asked Phaeroh. "What are you talking about?" Ava asked Phaeroh.
"The aer got so out of control it started to get the attention of Arceus. He and his children came and used their tremendous power to restore it. But during those time I watched a powerful bird light up the sky like the sun, purifining the aer in the sky. This bird's name was Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh inspired me to become the Entelexeia I am today. But then tragedy struck. The Child of the Full Moon killed one of Arceus children." Phaeroh said to everyone. "What!" Estelle said as she covered her mouth in shock.

A little quick to judge, aren't you. Phaeroh?" Yuri asked Phaeroh. "This problem concerns the entire planet, and she is its cause and why we are left to rot. To do nothing would be unparalleled folly." Phaeroh said to Yuri.
"If the problem's with Estelle, then it's for us to solve." Yuri said to Phaeroh. "That's right, we can't let anyone else handle it." Patty said to Phaeroh. "Yeah Estelle is an amazing and kind person. You might think the world would be better off without her. But I beg to differ. The world would be a crueler place without her." I said to Phaeroh. "The gravity of this situation is beyond your grasp." Phaeroh said to us.
"Or maybe you don't have a grasp of the people that call this place home." I said to Phaeroh. "Yeah, you don't honestly think that everything's gonna be all sunshine and rainbows if Estelle dies, do you?" Yuri asked Phaeroh. "It would at least eliminate one problem." Phaeroh said to us. "Yeah yours. You're just a selfish old bird that doesn't care about anything but yourself." Ava said to Phaeroh. "How dare you." Phaeroh said to Ava.
"Phaeroh, at Heliord I stopped myself, and again at Dahngrest Yveltal stopped you what I thought was a blastia turned out to be a human. Before I realized it. I had lost my way. I never thought this child could be as great a danger as you had said." Judith said to Phaeroh. "And due to your confusion, I granted you the time necessary to see things as they are. As a result, my sister Belius is now lost to me. Enough. This power will bring only ruin." Phaeroh said to us.
"Hmm. Not sure I understand all this, but if her power's the problem, why can't she just not use it?" Raven asked Phaeroh. "There can be no guarantee she will not try to use the power." Phaeroh said to Raven. "That's true. She does have trouble turning a blind eye to things happening around her. Someday she will surely use her power to help someone. However, as long as she keeps that spirit of compassion, she cannot only be seen as harmful." Judith said to Phaeroh. "She's right. If Estelle was a power hungry person, I would agree with you that Estelle is a problem. But Estelle only ever uses her power to help others, never for her own gain." Hugo said to Phaeroh.
"She is not like a blastia. I know that you can feel the difference." Judith said to Phaeroh. "Compassion alone will not save this world." Phaeroh said to Judith. "Oh like you know how to save the world. After all you and our kind revealed a mountain to save the world and the problem is still out there." Ava said Phaeroh.
"Listen, Phaeroh, I get that you've thought all this though with everyone's best interest in mind. But why doesn't that world have a place for Estelle?" Yuri asked Phaeroh. "Yeah cause if someone like Estelle isn't welcomed in your world. Then your world would be worse than this world." I said to Phaeroh. "It is sometimes necessary to remove a part to save the whole." Phaeroh said to us. "I don't buy that for a second. What makes you so high and mighty that you're the one to decide who gets cut and who doesn't." Yuri said to Phaeroh. "Yeah, you were really following the example of Ho-Oh then you should use mercy and kindness. Not cold and ruthless." I said to Phaeroh.
"You have no right to say how I should act. "We have endured the anxiety of existence for far greater a pan than you can conceive. Such words mean nothing from those who call this world home for but a fleeting moment!" Phaeroh said to me. "Phaeroh, please listen. The important thing is finding a way to stop the excessive aer, correct? We still have time left to search or such a thing." Judith said to Phaeroh, surprising all of us. "Judith." Estelle said to Judith.
"And if… if the effects of Estelle's Power reach their absolute limit… I will kill her as promised. You should have no complaint with this?" Judith asked Phaeroh, making many of us look at her. "H-hey Judith, are you serious?!" Karol asked Judith. "I hope you're not." I said to Judith. "I'm sure Brave Vesperia will come up with something before that happens, right?" Judith asked me and Karol. "What?! I… Um… Yeah, yeah of course we will!" Karol asid to Judith. "Saving one of our friends is a good motivator." I said to Judith.
"Score one for Judith. So that settles it. If we humans are to blame for Estelle's problem and bringing on the apocalypse, then it's up to us to make things right. If we give it all we've got and still blow it, you can slowly roast us on a grill for all I care." Yuri said to Judith. "I rather we die fighting Phaeroh if at all possible." Hugo said to Yuri.
Phaeroh than looked at us. "You have changed. If you were still as before…" Phaeroh said to Judith. "Have I? That is nice to hear." Judith said to Phaeroh. "Very well. Be ever mindful though. That time is fleeting!" Phaeroh said to us, before he started to fly away. "Wait! If the formulas are causing the excessive aer… Then there must've been times when this happened in the past. I mean, the blastia were a product of an ancient civilization." Rita asked Phaeroh, before he got too far away.
"There exist those who have inherited the sins of the past. If any yet can speak of what occurred in the days, it is they." Phaeroh said before disappearing from sight. "He's gone!" Karol said as he looked around. "Bye-bye." Patty said to Phaeroh, even though he was gone. "Umm, I… Thanks for everything, all of you." Estelle said to everyone. "No problem, but hey…" Yuri said to Estelle as he walked to her. "What?" Estelle asked Yuri. "It's okay if I have to die? What the hell was that?" Yuri said with a slight angry tune in his voice.
"I'm sorry." Estelle said to Yuri. "I don't want to hear that again." Yuri said to Estelle, before walking away. "I'm sorry…" Estelle said to Yuri, before everyone, but me and Ava headed for the ship. "Hey Oliver do you think Yuri likes Estelle?" Ava whispered to me. "I think they both like each other, even though the first thing Estelle did when they met was hit Yuri in the back of his head with a vase." I whispered to Ava. We then both laughed a little before walking back to the ship, hand in hand.
A few minutes later we were all in the cabin. "Man… I was really worried there for a while." Karol said to everyone. "We were pretty lucky that bruiser was in a mood for conversation. Poor Raven's heart can't handle that sorta stuff anymore." Raven said to everyone. "You're pretty gutless for an old man." Patty said to Raven. "Patty Raven doesn't have any gut." Ava said to Patty. "Geez, Patty, Ava you two really got nerves of steel." Raven said to Ava and Patty.
"Can we get back on topic please?" I asked everyone. "If Phaeroh really wanted to kill Estelle, he'd have attacked us immediately… That's what I can't figure out." Yuri said to everyone. "I imagine Phaeroh was conflicted as well. He hid himself from us in the desert to see just what we were made of." Judith said to Yuri. "Huh. Maybe he wasn't as bad as we though, after all?" Karol said to everyone. "That or he didn't want to kill the Pokemon." I said to Karol. "Or he was worried that Yveltal or another legendary Pokemon would appear again just like in Dahngrest." Ava said to me.
"Who knows. But I get the feeling he'd do whatever's necessary when push comes to shove." Yuri said to everyone. "That sounds like you." Rita said to Yuri. "Maybe." Yuri said to Rita. "But what are we gonna do, Yuri? You heard what he said." Karol said to Yuri. "We're going to fix problems the aer's causing that's all." Yuri said to Karol.
"That's easier said than done. We've pretty much at square one, ya know." Raven said Yuri. "Mm-hm, and no one wants to be at square one." Patty said to everyone. "Then let's get out of square one." Hugo said to everyone. "There's no doubt that the formulas are related somehow to the aer getting used up. We need to find out about the ancient blastia, and if they went berserk or not. If we had that kind of information, it might give us a clue…" Rita said to everyone.
"Ask those who have inherited the sins of the past about the days of old… Or at least that's what Phaeroh said." Estelle said to everyone. "And who would that be?" I asked Estelle. "The Kritya were the ones to invent the blastia. In other words, we need to ask a Krityan who is still familiar with the old stories." Judith said to everyone. "Yeah. The Kritya are often created as the inventors of the blastia…" Rita said to everyone.
"Okay, but where can we find a Krityan like that?" I asked everyone. "Yeah there isn't much left of the Krityan city of Temza. Doubt we'll find a Krityan there." Yuri said to everyone. "It'd be a lot easier if there were more cities." Patty said to everyone. "The hidden city of Myorzo." Judith said to everyone. "Myorzo? What's that?" I asked Judith. "It's a city that's far older than Temza, and the birthplace of the Kritya. The first blastia also originated there." Judith said to me.
"Really? Well, whaddya know." Raven said to Judith. "So I guess we're heading to Myorzo." I said to everyone. "So you wouldn't happen ta know where this Myorzo might be, would ya, darlin'?" Raven asked Judith. "Hmm…" Judith said as she started to think. "I'll take that as a no. Hugo, you got any ideas?" Ava said to Judith and asked Hugo. "Sorry I got nothing." Hugo said to Ava.
"I've heard that name somewhere… There was a Krityan in Aspio, I'm sure they mentioned something about it." Rita said to everyone. "Aspio?" I said for the first time in a while. "Do you think that person might still be there?" Estelle asked Rita. "Well, there's no harm in checking it out." Yuri said to everyone. "Judith… are you coming with us?" Karol asked Judith. "I should. We still have the issue of the guild to straighten out." Judith said to Karl. "So, t Aspio then. We all nodded in agreement.
Soon Ba'ul started to head for Aspio. It was the middle of the day when we arrived near Aspio. To prevent panic in Aspio we landed a little bit away from Aspio. We had to walk for half an hour, but otherwise we had no trouble.
When we got to Aspio I stopped in front of the entrance to Aspio while everyone else went inside. "What is it Oliver?" Yuri asked me, as he stopped right next to me. "Sorry, it just dawned on me how much things have changed. Last time we were here there was only you, me, Repede, Estelle, Karol, Skiddo, Toegtic, Bisharp and my Pokemon, while they were still little, looking for a blastia thief. And now here we are again trying to find a way to save the world." I said to Yuri. "You have a point." Yuri said to me. "Blastoise." Blastoise said pushing me and Yuri forward. "Okay, oaky were moving." I said to Blastoise as we started to move again.
When we got to the entrance we saw everyone waiting for us. "Yuri, Oliver there you two are." Karol said to us. "What's up Karol?" I asked Karol. "There's something I want to take care of first." Karol said to me, as he looked at Judith. "You mean me." Judith asked Karol. "We have been pushing off for a while now." I said to Karol. "Oliver. Karol." Estelle said to us.
"This is a guild thing. Best for us not to get involved." Raven said to Estelle. "Yeah this is Brave Vesperia business." Ava said to Estelle. "I've thought about it a lot. What we should do, like, as a guild, and I realized. We have to figure out a few things if we're going to keep this guild going." Karol said to everyone. "It sounds like you've decided what we should do." Yuri said to Karol.
"Well, we said it before. The most important thing is obeying the guild's laws. Those who break the laws suffer strict punishment. Even if they're friends or family. They say that's the source of a guild's pride." Karol said to everyone. "Yes…" Judith said to Karol. "So what I'm thinking is… We all have to receive punishment." Karol said to everyone, surprising us. "What do you mean?" Judith asked Karol.
"I didn't know that Judith was fighting for our planet, all on her own. But even though I didn't know. I still failed to help a fellows guild member. So I gotta accept my punishment. Yuri." Karol said to everyone. "Me?" Yuri asked Karol. "Maybe you were trying to "follow your own path." but you still kept things hidden from us. There's no way that can be for the good of the guild." Karol said to Yuri. "Well…" Yuri said to Karol.
"So you gotta be punished, too. Same goes for you Oliver." Karol said to me and Yuri. "What did I do?" I asked Karol. "Nothing, but you knew about Judith being the Dragon rider and about Yuri's actions and you kept it to yourself, so you have to be punished as well." Karol said to me.
"Now he's stretching it." Rita said to everyone. "The laws are important. What if someone does the right thing, but still breaks the law. Should they be punished? To be honest, I just don't know yet… so that's why we should all just accept our punishment, and start over from scratch. What do you think?" Karol asked us.
"I think us starting over is a great idea." I said to Karol. "I can't promise I won't have my secrets in the future." Yuri said to Karol. "Well, if that's the way it is- if you can't trust us- then there's nothing you can do. That would be my fault." Karol said too Judith. "Then what if I was not to tell you something?" I asked Karol. "I trust you to have a good reason for not telling me. And I know you'll tell us when the time is right." Karl said to me.
"And what if I destroy a blastia that our guild was planning on using again? That would be breaking the law that says I should act in interest of the guild." Judith asked Karol. "But you'd also be acting for the sake of the world. Guilds aren't there just so people can obey their laws. I think we can let that slide." Karol said to Judith.
"Um, doesn't that's sort of make your laws meaningless?" Rita asked Karol. "Hah hah hah. I've never heard of a guild like this before. But you've got me interested. I'll give ya that much." Raven said to everyone. "There's no need to be such a sticker for the rules . Gotta be more relaxed!" Patty said to everyone, making Estelle laugh a little. "Karol, you're just full of surprises. I'd thought plenty about myself and what I should be doing… But I might not have considered how my actions would affect you guys. This is a way of settling things I didn't even realize existed." Yuri said to Karol.
"I… I just wanted to keep traveling with all of you. I just wanted each of our own paths to be the same as Brave Vesperia's." Karol said to everyone. "Heh, sounds alright with me. You heard the man, Judy and Oliver. I guess that's where we stand." Yuri said to me and Judith. "Works for me." I said to Yuri. "You really are some of the oddest people I've ever met… But… I suppose I can manage to put up with you." Judith said to everyone with a big smile on her face. "All right then, one more time, Brave Vesperia, fall out!" Karol said to everyone.
"They're just making it up as they go, aren't they? Is that all a guild is?" Rita asked Raven and Ava. "na that's just Brave Vesperia." Ava said to Rita. "Yeah, The Don ran his guild just a teensy bit differently." Raven said to Rita. "There's something beautiful about this way, though." Estelle said to everyone. "Brave Vesperia sure is nice." Patty said to everyone. "Do you want to join too, Patty?" Karol asked Patty. "We could always use a sea captain like you in the guild." I said to Patty.
"Can't right now." Patty said to us. "Oh yeah. You still have to get your memory back." Karol said to Patty. Patty nodded yes. "So what about the punishment?" Raven asked Karol. "Oh yeah! I almost forgot, umm." Karol said before he started to think. "Looks like you guys are on Krityan researcher detail. We'll be relaxing at my place." Rita said to everyone. "Hey! Why do you get to decide…?" Karol asked Rita. "Excuse me? Did I hear a complaint?" Rita asked Karol.
"Hah hah. No ma'am." Yuri said to Rita. "No." Judith said to Rita. "Come on Karol. There are worse things, then us walking around a city." I said to Karol. "Then Rita, why don't you lead us to your house, while Brave Vesperia gose looking for this Krityan." Hugo said to Rita. "Gladedly." Rita said to Hugo, as she, Ava, Hugo, Patty, Estelle, Raven, and their Pokemon left me, Yuri, Karol, Judith, Repede, and our Pokemon. "Well where should we start first?" I asked everyone.
We then spent an hour looking around the city, and found a male Krityan probably the one we were looking for. "Okay so who wants to talk to him?" Yuri asked everyone. "I say Judith." I said to everyone. "Why her?" Karol asked me. "We are looking for the birthplace of the Kritya. I doubt he will tell the three of us, but maybe he'll tell it to a fellow Krityan, one that can vouch for us at least." I said to Karol. "Good point." Karol said to me. "Well then here we go." Judith said to us before we walked to the Krityan.
"Good day!" Judith said to the Krityan. "Good day, my sister." The Krityan said to Judith. "Judith." Judith said to the Krityan. "I'm Tort." The Krityan said to Judith. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about Myorzo, would you? I'd like to go there. I need to know where Myorzo is located… and how it can get there." Judith asked Tort.
"Even if you reach the city, there won't be anything for you to see there. But what do you plan on doing there, anyway?" Tort asked Judith. "Is not a Krityan's interest in her own ancestral city reason enough to go?" Judith asked Tort. "This is an acceptable reason, but I'm afraid I don't know anything about where it could be." Tort said to Judith.
"I've heard your name before, Tort. You help those Krityans remaining on earth up to the heavens." Judith said to Tort, surprising everyone. "Will you tell me because these humans and Pokemon are with me?" Judith asked Tort. "Our ancient law states that we cannot show anyone but our brothers and sisters the way to Myorzo." Tort said to Judith.
"Shouldn't it be a matter of whether they can be trusted, rather than whether they're Krityan or not? At the very least, these Humans and Pokemon can be trusted." Judith said to Tort. "I shall ask once more. Why do you seek Myorzo?" Tort asked Judith. "The world is headed towards some bad things, all thanks to blastia. We want to go to know what happened in the past, and how we can stop it. We want to help everyone, not just the Krityans… how's that?" Yuri said to Tort. "We heard that Myorzo would be a good place to look for answers." I said to Tort.
"Very well. I don't know if you'll find the answer to your questions, but I will show you the way. First of all, you'll need a special bell to open the path to Myorzo." Tort said to everyone. "A bell?" Judith asked Tort. Indeed, it is hidden in one of the southern caverns on the continent of Hypionia." Tort said to everyone. "But… Isn't Hypionia really big?" Karol asked Tort. "The cavern is on a shore where red flowers bloom. If you use that as your guide. I'm sure you shall find it. Also, the door is back of the cavern can only be opened by us Krityans." Tort said to everyone.
"What do you mean?" Karol asked Tort. "Don't worry, I'll see that we're allowed to enter. "And? What are we supposed to do with that bell?" Yuri asked Tort. "Relax. You humans are always so impatient. Once you have the bell, you must travel to Egothor Forest." Tort said to us. "The Egothor Forest? Isn't that on Hypionia too? I've heard of it before…" Karol said to Tort. "Yes, the sacred land of the Krityans is located there." Judith said to Karol.
"So that's where the door to Myorzo is…?" Judith asked Tort. "If you use the bell there, the door shall open. There is, however, a problem." Tort said to us. "A problem?" Yuri asked Tort. "What kind of problem?" I asked Tort. "Egothor Forest is being devastated by a mysterious group. In addition to their overwhelming numbers, they also carry with them strange blastia, and force creatures like the ones next to you, into tools for their own purposes. I cannot fathom their motives. But this is certainly a matter of great concern." Trot said to everyone.
"They're forcing Pokemon to be their tools." I said to Tort. "So if we go to Myorzo, we have to do something about them?" Yuri asked Tort. "Exactly. We need you to restore peace to our sacred land." Tort said to us.
"So just to clarify. We need to travel to Hypionia. Find a cavern in the southern regions, which will be marked by red flowers. Head to the back of the cavern, where a door only a Krityan like Judith can open is located. Grabe the bell inside it. Travel to the Egothor Forest. Where we will have to fight an unknown group, with strange blastia, and forcing Pokemon to be . Then after we do all that. We ring the bell and a door will appear. Is that about right?" I asked Tort.
"Indeed." Tort said to me. "I understand… Thank you." May the road rise up to meet you, sister." Tort said to Judith. "And you, as well." Judith said to Tort. 'Let's go back to where everyone's waiting." Judith said to us. "Yeah." Yuri said as we all started to walk to Rita's place.
"Pokemon being forced. That's terrible." Karol said to everyone. "Yeah. So we're definitely going to Egothor Forest." Yuri said to everyone. "Yuri." Karol said to Yuri. "It's one of our guilds laws right? "To protect and care for all the Pokemon with us." And while those Pokemon aren't with us. We should still save them." Yuri said to Karl. "I agree we would just repeat the mistakes of ignoring our laws if we turn a blind eye to the Pokemon in need." I said to Karol.
"Judith what do you say?" Karol asked Judith. "I don't see anything wrong with helping Pokemon as we look for Myorzo." Judith said to Karol. "Okay then we'll save the Pokemon in Egothor Forest, while we look for Myorzo." Karol said to everyone.
"For Brave Vesperia and for the Pokemon." I said as I raised one of my maces into the air. "For Brave Vesperia and for the Pokemon." Karol said as he raised his axe into the air. "For Brave Vesperia and for the Pokemon." Yuri said as he raised his sword into the air. "For Brave Vesperia and for the Pokemon." Judith said as she raised her spear into the air. With our weapons in the air a large smile appeared on our faces. We then lowered our weapons and resumed walking to Rita's place.
