Episode 487: Lucas, Dawn, and Barry in Unova
The morning after their fight with Team Plasma and Ghetsis, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta are about to take off as N joined them on their way.
"Are you sure you want to go, N?" Concordia asked.
"I am," N said. "Thanks to these people, I have now a new perspective on people and how people and Pokémon can live together in peace. And I plan to see it with my own eyes."
"We will support you in this," Anthea said.
With that said, N bids farewall to his two adoptive sisters as the group took off. They made their towards Black City. The city looked like it didn't have much people in it.
"For such a big city, it doesn't look very lively here," Ventus said.
"Going through here is the best way to get to Harmony City," Cilan said.
"Cilan's right," Terra said. "This city doesn't look like much, but you are right, it is pretty big."
"Maybe we could pick up some fresh supplies and make a crash at the Pokémon Center to rest up," Karen said.
"Yeah, we could use a little break before we take off to Harmony City again," Sora said.
Everyone agreed Kairi, Cilan, and Angel went to pick up fresh supplies as the rest has made it to the Pokémon Center. Not much trainers were there. Sora exchanged Haxorus and Krookodile for Leavanny and Crustle. As soon as Kairi, Cilan, and Angel came to the Pokémon Center, the group went to have some lunch in the messhall to go over the directions.
Meanwhile, Ein and his Team Shadow squad arrived.
"Sir, we have arrived to the point," one of the Team Shadow peons said.
"Do you have those DNA vials I have requested?" Ein asked. The Team Shadow peon shows it to him.
"The DNA of Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem as you requested. Ein grinned.
"Wonderful," Ein said, taking the DNA vials. "This will do nicely."
"What purpose would it serve?" The Team Shadow peon asked.
"I have done some major research on these legendary Pokémon. It is said that Kyurem has the power to absorb Reshiram and Zekrom, taking part of their appearance and power. With the DNA I have acquired, I can clone Kyurem and merge the DNA of Reshiram and Zekrom into each one I have created. I have also done some research on Pokémon cloning provided by Dr. Fuji. This would never have been possible if it weren't for the creation if Mewtwo," Ein said. "To answer your question, it is to make certain no one is to interfere with our goal. The power of Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus will be in our hands, and all of Unova will be ours since Team Plasma is no longer here to claim it." He laughed. "All we need is the song of Meloetta to make it possible."
"Anything we can do, sir?" The Team Shadow peon asked.
"Yes. Find Meloetta and bring it to me. In the meantime, I'll begin my work of creating my Kyurem clones," Ein said.
"At once, sir," the Team Shadow peon said.
The Team Shadow peons have gone and searched for Meloetta and to capture it for Ein. He gazes upon the Reveal Glass.
"Nothing shall stand in our way; not even Sora Ketchum," Ein said.
Back to Black City, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, N, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Azurill, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta took their leave of Black City and made it to Harmony City in a few days. The city itself was magnificent. The people and Pokémon there were going about their daily routine as they wondered around.
"This is it. Harmony City," Meowth said.
"This is where the first Unova Grand Festival is gonna be held," Cilan said.
"And there's still a month to get ready for it," Sora said.
"Maybe we should explore the city before we check in where we'll be staying," Kairi suggested.
"Good idea," Sora said, taking her hand.
With that said, the group did some exploring around the city. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom were spending some time together. They decided to have some ice cream when they spotted a familiar face. It was Cynthia. She wore a blue top that has a medium-sized collar, a teardrop-shaped object, a blue ribbon tied on her waist and she also wore open-toed heels.
"Should I get chocolate chip, strawberry, or maybe gold old vanilla," Cynthia said, trying to decide.
"Is that who I think it is?" Sora asked.
"Who are you talking about?" Karen asked.
"Pika?" Blossom asked.
The couple walked up to Cynthia.
"Cynthia," Sora said. Cynthia turned around to see two familiar faces.
"Sora, Kairi! It's good to see you again. And you too, Pikachu, Angel," Cynthia said.
"It's been a while, Cynthia," Sora said.
"What brings you here to Harmony City?" Kairi asked.
"I'm here to host the Junior Cup, taking place in a couple of weeks. They asked me to be in exhibition match. The winner of the Junior Cup will have the honor of battling Alder himself," Cynthia said. She noticed Karen and Blossom. "Who's this?"
"Right. This is Karen. She's my twin sister and this Pikachu is Blossom," Sora said. He turned to Karen. Karen was awestruck.
"Oh my gosh! You're the Cynthia! I must be dreaming!" Karen said.
"Pika," Blossom said.
"What brings you two here in Harmony City?" Cynthia asked.
"Kairi is actually going to compete in the Grand Festival," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"That would mean you have earned five Contest Ribbons required to enter," Cynthia said. She turned to Sora. "What about you, Sora? Have you acquired eight Gym Badges?"
"I got ten Badges," Sora said, showing her his Gym Badges.
"So, you went for ten. You were always full of surprises," Cynthia said. "Are your other friends here as well?"
"Yeah, Terra, Ven, and Aqua have been with us," Sora said. "They would be in quite a surprise to see you here."
"I'm sure they will be," Cynthia said. Her expression changed to a stern tone. "But first!" Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom all wondered what she meant. She turned to face the vendor. "One Beartic Cone!"
"Cynthia's love for ice cream hasn't changed," Sora said in his thoughts.
They each retrieved a Beartic cone as they met up with the Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, N, Meowth, Axew, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta.
"Ventus, Aqua, Terra. It's been so long," Cynthia said.
"You mean to tell me that you met Cynthia, the Champion of the Sinnoh region?!" Cilan exclaimed.
"Thought we mentioned it before," Sora said.
"How did you meet her?" Iris asked.
"We were on our way to Hearthome City when we bumped into her. Riku and Naminé were with us at the time," Kairi said.
"The same thing with the Digimon," Ventus said. "One of Myotismon's goons Ogremon attacked the ruins we met her in."
"Speaking of which? Where are they?" Cynthia asked.
"They went back home in the Digital World," Kairi said.
"Yeah, they were doing a lot of rebuilding since Myotismon and AxeKnightmon tried to take over," Sora said. Sora then thought of Agumon and wondered how he was doing.
"I still found hard to believe you had friends like them tagging along; apart from four mutant turtles," Iris said.
"Axew," Axew added.
"Anyway, Cynthia, meet Cilan and Iris. Cilan is a Pokémon Connoisseur, and one of the Gym Leaders of the Striaton City Gym," Sora introduced.
"It's an honor and a privilege to meet you," Cilan said.
"And this Iris, and her partner Axew," Kairi added.
"It's so great to meet you," Iris said.
"Axew, ew," Axew added. Cynthia looked right at Axew.
"By the way your Axew looks, I would say you have done a wonderful job in raising it," Cynthia said.
"Thank you," Iris said.
"And these are all of our Pikachu. Mine's Sparky," Ventus said.
"Pikachu!" Sparky said.
"It's nice to meet you, Sparky," Cynthia said, petting Sparky on the head.
"This is Thor, and the one with Aqua is Eclair," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"Pika," Eclair said.
"And I'm N," N introduced himself.
"Cynthia filled us in on the Junior Cup taking place in a couple of weeks," Sora said..
"And the tournament's winner will be taking on Alder," Karen added.
"No fooling? I would like to be part of that!" Iris exclaimed.
"It seems I'll be a part of it as well," Cilan said.
"If you guys are in it, so why not add me in as well?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"And it starts again," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor agreed.
"Is it always like this?" N asked.
"You should have stuck around, and you would have picked it up," Aqua said.
"Since you three will be competing, there is a place I'm currently staying at. It's my summer home if you would put it," Cynthia said. A limo drives in, and a butler steps out of the limo.
"Mistress Cynthia, have you finished with your errand?" The butler asked.
"I have," Cynthia said. "And I will be bringing some guests along with me." She turned to the group. "Everyone, I would like to introduce you to Jervis, my butler."
"A pleasure," the butler greeted with a bow.
Everyone boarded inside the limo as they filled Cynthia in about their journey in Unova. They started with how they met Iris, Cilan, N, and Karen along the way. They explained about Team Shadow and Team Plasma's downfall. They even explained about how they met Meloetta by saving it from a Pokémon Hunter named Dirk.
"It's never a dull moment with you," Cynthia said.
"Yeah, it was quite a ride," Terra said.
"At least Ghetsis didn't plan on destroying the world like Cyrus almost did," Meowth said.
The group eventually arrived in Cynthia's villa. It was facing the beach, much to everyone's delight.
"And here we are," Cynthia said.
"Is this the place?" Ventus asked.
"Indeed, young man. Mistress Cynthia comes here annually whenever she has some free time," Jervis answered. "Mistress Cynthia, the other visitors have arrived while you were away. They are awaiting for you as we speak."
"Good. And they'll be in quite a surprise," Cynthia said. Sora was confused.
"Who?" Sora asked.
"Oh, you'll have to see," Cynthia said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, N, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta all walked inside. Meloetta turned invisible again as two figures came up behind the couple. Ventus was about to call out to them when Aqua shushed him. Each hand tapped the shoulders of Sora and Kairi. They both turned around when they saw two more familiar faces.
"Lucas!" Sora exclaimed.
"Dawn!" Kairi also exclaimed.
"Hey, Sora!" Lucas greeted.
"Long time no see, Kairi!" Dawn added.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel added.
"Piplup!" Piplup chirped running up to the Pokémon couple.
"Hello, Piplup!" Kairi greeted.
"Pip!" Piplup chirped. Dawn saw more of their old friends.
"Terra, Aqua, Ven, Meowth!" Dawn said.
"Look at you!" Lucas said.
"Hey, guys!" Ventus said.
"You look like you've been busy," Dawn said.
"So, you're the Lucas and Dawn we've been hearing about," Karen said. The Sinnoh couple turned to Karen. "It's so nice to finally be meeting you both!"
"Who are you?" Lucas asked.
"Right, you haven't met," Kairi said. "This is Karen. She's Sora's long lost twin sister." Lucas and Dawn were shocked to hear the news.
"Sister?" Lucas asked in shock.
"I didn't know Sora had a sister," Dawn said.
"Piplup," Piplup said.
"It's true," Cilan said. "My name's Cilan, and I'm a Pokémon Connoisseur."
"And I'm Iris, and this is Axew," Iris said.
"Right back you," Lucas said. "Barry is going to bust a button when he sees you here."
"Giving about ten seconds," Dawn said. Ten seconds came and went as Barry came into the room.
"Guys, you should see the ocean, it's quite a vi-" Barry paused when he saw some familiar faces. "Holy crap! Sora, Kairi, Aqua, Ven, Terra!"
"Told ya," Dawn giggled.
"Hey, Barry!" Sora greeted.
"Sora! I'm so happy to see you!" Barry exclaimed. "And Kairi, too! What are you doing here?!"
"Hi, Barry," Kairi greeted.
"Ven, Terra, Aqua! You guys look great!" Barry greeted.
"Your personality sure hasn't changed," Meowth said.
"Hey, Meowth," Barry said. He noticed Karen, Cilan, Iris, and N with them. "Who are these people?"
"About that," Sora said.
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, N, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair all explained to the Sinnoh trio about Cilan, Iris, Karen, and N. They told them all about the adventures they had since the start of their journey in the Unova region, and about Team Shadow, and Team Plasma's downfall. Lucas, Dawn, and Barry were shocked to hear Sora has earned ten Gym Badges instead of the traditional eight. Barry was really shocked to hear Sora had a long lost twin sister.
"Ten Gym Badges, how sweet!" Barry said.
"That has got to be awesome of you, Sora," Lucas said.
"How long have you been in Unova?" Sora asked.
"Just for a week," Lucas said. "During our stay here, we managed to catch some Pokémon living here in Unova, and Dawn wanted to check out a Pokémon Showcase in Nimbasa City." Dawn blushed.
"It was to research for some Pokémon Contests I plan on competing in," Dawn said.
"Speaking of Contests, how are Zoey and Kenny doing?" Kairi asked.
"They're actually doing great," Dawn said. "After you left for home, Zoey and I got in touch with each other. Afterwards, I got a call from Madame Hermione to do a photo shoot with Buneary for a cover of Poké Chic. Buneary got to be in it with Paris's Lopunny. After a while, Lucas and I went on several dates since we became a couple." Dawn took her boyfriend's hand, making him blush. Barry rolls his eyes.
"Get a room, you two," Barry said.
"Yeah, we even got in contact with Brendan and May, and they were asking about you," Lucas said. "They weren't surprised one bit that you made it all the way to the final round."
"They would be surprised to hear you took down Team Plasma," Dawn said.
"I'll bet, because those guys were really asking for it," Ventus said.
"Sora, Kairi, since you've been busy in Unova, we would like to see what Pokémon you caught while in Unova," Lucas said.
"How about we take this outside," Kairi suggested.
The group stepped outside as Sora and Kairi took out all of their Pokéballs and threw them.
"Come on out, everyone!" Sora and Kairi called out. Their Pokéballs opened to show Serperior, Emboar, Samurott, Leavanny, Crustle, Unfezant, Liepard, Vanillish, Emolga, and Swoobat. Cilan did the same thing, letting out Pansage, Ferroseed, and Amoonguss. Iris did the same, letting out Deino and Druddigon.
"What sweet Pokémon," Barry said.
"They look tough; just like you, Sora," Lucas said.
"Sora caught and trained them," Ventus said.
"Okay, here are mine," Lucas said, letting out all six of his. Torterra came on out along with a Palpitoad, a Krokorok, a Darumaka, a Boldore, and a Eelektross. "Meet the Pokémon I caught while in Unova."
"Everyone! Spotlight!" Dawn called out, letting out a Lilligant, a Whimsicott, a female Frillish, a Lampent, and a Drilbur. "Meet my Unova dream team!"
"Really impressive," Sora said.
"And here's mine!" Barry said, throwing his Pokéballs. His Infernape came on out, along with a Golett, a Zwelious, a Scolipede, a Cofagrigus, and a Mienshao. "And here is my all-star team!"
"Quite a haul," Ventus said.
"And they look like you have been taking very good care of them," Cilan said.
"Thanks a bunch, Cilan," Barry said. He looked at Iris. "Say, Iris, wasn't it? How about we have a battle. Make it one-on-one?"
"You sure you wanna do that, Barry?" Lucas asked.
"I wanna test what my opponents are made of," Barry said.
"I have no objections," Cynthia said.
"I shall serve as a referee," Cilan said. Both of Iris and Barry got into position for battle. "This will be a one-on-one battle between Iris and Barry! The battle will be over when the chosen Pokémon is unable to continue battling! Begin the match!"
"Go for it, Infernape!" Barry called out. Infernape stepped forward.
"Go! Druddigon!" Iris called out. Druddigon stepped forward. "Druddigon! Use Focus Blast!" Druddigon forms a ball of energy and hurls it right at Infernape.
"Dodge and use Aerial Ace!" Barry ordered. Infernape dodged and lands an Aerial Ace onto Druddigon. "Now, use Mach Punch!" Infernape gave Druddigon a Mach Punch in the gut. "Focus Blast!" Infernape hurls a Focus Blast right towards Druddigon.
"Dodge by using Dig!" Iris ordered. Druddigon dug to avoid Infernape's Focus Blast. Druddigon came out and landed a hit with Dig. "Now, use Dragon Claw!" Druddigon swiped at Infernape with Dragon Claw.
"Okay, Infernape, use Flamethrower!" Barry ordered. Infernape fired Flamethrower right at Druddigon.
"Dodge and use Focus Blast!" Iris ordered. Druddigon forms Focus Blast in his claws and sends it right at Infernape.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Barry ordered. Infernape darts at Druddigon with Aerial Ace. Infernape lands a heavy hit onto him. "One more Aerial Ace!" Barry ordered. Infernape attempts to land another Aerial Ace, when Druddigon grabbed Infernape and gave him a toss.
"Use Focus Blast!" Iris ordered. Druddigon forms Focus Blast and sends it right at Infernape, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Dragon Claw!" Druddigon swipes at Infernape with Dragon Claw, dealing some more damage. Infernape tried to stand back up, but fell back down.
"Infernape is unable to battle! Druddigon wins! The winner is Iris!" Cilan announced. Barry rushed to Druddigon and helped him up.
"You okay, Infernape?" Barry asked.
"Ape," Infernape answered.
"You did great. Get some rest," Barry said. He called Infernape back in his Pokéball. He looked right at Iris with a smile. "You were awesome, Iris. And so was your Druddigon."
"Thanks, Barry. Sora said you were an amazing trainer, too. It's no wonder you made it to the championships," Iris said. Barry smiled. "But you could be such a little kid." Barry groaned in annoyance.
"You nailed him on the head good, Iris!" Lucas said.
"Whose side are you on?!" Barry exclaimed, making Lucas laugh. Lucas turned to Sora. "Say, Sora, how about we have a battle, too. Just like our last one."
"Sure," Sora said. "I was wondering how much stronger you got since we last met." Sora and Lucas both got into position to battle.
"Like last time, I'll act as referee. Are both trainers in agreement that it shall be one-on-one?" Cilan asked.
"Yes," Sora and Lucas answered.
"Very well. Choose and begin," Cilan said.
"Go! Torterra!" Lucas called out as Torterra stepped in.
"Go! Leavanny!" Sora called out. Leavanny stepped in.
"Sora's using Leavanny! A good match-up since Leavanny's a Bug Type," Dawn said.
"Torterra! Start up with Leaf Storm!" Lucas ordered.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Torterra unleashed Leaf Storm as Leavanny dodged. He sends out Razor Leaf and struck Torterra on the side. "Use X-Scissor!" Leavanny came at Torterra with X-Scissor. Leavanny lands a direct hit.
"Torterra! Use Solar Beam!" Lucas ordered. Torterra begins to build up energy to fire at Leavanny.
"Get ready, Leavanny," Sora said.
"Vanny," Leavanny said. Torterra's tree grew brighter than ever.
"Fire it now!" Lucas ordered. Torterra fired Solar Beam at the nurturing Pokémon.
"Dodge!" Sora called out. Leavanny gracefully dodges Torterra's Solar Beam. "Use String Shot!" Leavanny fires String Shot at Torterra, hoping to slow him down.
"Whatever you're cooking up, it won't work! Break those strings!" Lucas called out. Torterra broke free of the strings. "Use Bulldoze!" Torterra slammed on the ground as he creates a shockwave. The ground shook as Leavanny is affected by the shaking. "Use Leaf Storm!" Torterra fires Leaf Storm at Leavanny, dealing a lot of damage onto him. "You see, Sora? I did some extra training with my Torterra since the final battle at the Sinnoh Pokémon League."
"The way you delivered those moves is living proof, Lucas," Sora said. "You and your Torterra has gotten so much stronger since then."
"Torterra! Solar Beam!" Lucas ordered. Torterra began to build up solar energy again.
"Leavanny, be ready," Sora said. Torterra fires Solar Beam. "Dodge it!" Leavanny tried to dodge, but Leavanny got hit by Solar Beam. Cilan would have called it, but Leavanny got back up on his feet, and a light green aura surrounds Leavanny.
"Why is Leavanny glowing like that?" Dawn asked.
"It's Leavanny's Swarm," Terra said.
"Swarm?" Dawn asked.
"It's an ability that Bug Type Pokémon, like Sewaddle, Swadloon, and Leavanny all share when their stamina is low. When Swarm activates, the power of their Bug Type moves are much stronger than normal," Terra explained.
"Torterra! Use Leaf Storm!" Lucas ordered. Torterra unleashed Leaf Storm right at Leavanny.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Leavanny dodges Leaf Storm and fires Razor Leaf at the continent Pokémon. "Use use Energy Ball!" Leavanny fires Energy Ball at Torterra. "Use X-Scissor!"
"Torterra! Dodge it!" Lucas called out. Torterra tried to dodge, but Leavanny came too fast for Torterra to dodge, so he got hit and fell to the side. That was Lucas noticed a piece of string on Torterra's body.
"Torterra is unable to battle! Leavanny wins! The winner is Sora!" Cilan announced. Lucas walked up to Torterra and took the string off of him.
"You okay, Torterra?" Lucas asked.
"Terra," Torterra replied sadly.
"You did your best, Torterra. You always do," Lucas said. "I couldn't ask more of my number one partner." Torterra beamed as he nuzzled Lucas. Sora walked up to Lucas and Torterra.
"I have to say, Lucas, you almost had me this time," Sora said.
"Yeah. If it weren't for that String Shot, I would have won," Lucas said. "It was a great battle." Sora and Lucas shook hands. "When you and I battle in the Junior Cup, it'll be different."
"I'm looking forward in seeing what you got," Sora said.
Cynthia smiled as she watched the two of them.
"This is a sight I had hoped to see again. Two good friends as well as two good rivals. Not much has changed since then," Cynthia said in her thoughts.
Meanwhile, over to Ein, he has been working hard in his lab, creating his two Kyurem clones. One Kyurem has some of the features of Reshiram as the other has the features of Zekrom.
"Soon my creations, you shall see the light of day, and you shall serve Team Shadow well," Ein said. "With the powers you both possess, power of fire, lightning, and ice, you will both be an unstoppable force!" He grinned evilly.
Not too far, a dark and mysterious figure looms all around.
"The Forces of Nature is not a power meant to these creatures. It is a power that only I must possess. But, I will acquire some help in order to obtain the Reveal Glass, and make this world fall on its knees," the mysterious figure said.
What sort of plan does Ein has for the clones of Kyurem? And who is this mysterious being, and what sort of plan does he have for the Unova region? Will these two forces accomplish what Team Plasma has failed? Find out as we go even further.
