Episode 492: The Junior Cup Part 2
Last time, the Junior Cup has officially begun with the sixteen participating trainers, consisting of Sora, Riku, Hilbert, Nate, Lucas, Barry, Cilan, Iris, Trip, Georgia, Burgundy, Gladion, Benga, Cheren, Hugh, and Cameron.
The winning trainers consists of Sora, Riku, Hilbert, Hugh, Cheren, Cilan, Iris, and Gladion as they moved on to the second round. The Junior Cup was going to get more intense the further we go.
But in the Kanto region, two factions of transforming robots known as the Autobots and the Decepticons being natural born enemies in a heated cival war from the planet Cybertron. The Autobots has woken in their ship and regain earth-based vehicle forms to maintain disguises from both the population and the Decepticons.
As for the Junior Cup, eight trainers remains and they all have to put their skills up for the challenge. Sora exchanged Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott for Haxorus, Braviary, and Crustle.
"Okay, the change has been made," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"So, which ones will you be using, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Well, that'll be a bridge I'll have to cross when I get to it," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"But for now, let's just enjoy our time together," Sora said.
"You're right," Kairi said.
Sora and Kairi enjoyed their meal together as Karen and Blossom smiled at the loving sight.
Meanwhile in Kanto, Warpath is on patrol. Warpath has chosen a General Motors M551A1 Sheridan ARAAV tank for a vehicle mode.
"At least I chose a vehicle mode that has some fire power! Should come in handy when dealing with some Cons," Warpath said. Warpath has stumbled on some Energon sticking out. He transformed into his robot mode. "Energon! Better let Prime know about this. Warpath to Optimus."
Over to Optimus Prime whose vehicle mode is Freightliner FL86 tryck.
"Report, Warpath," Optimus said.
"I found some Energon in my area! It looks like we found a lucky break!" Warpath said.
"I shall send whomever is near over to your sector, Warpath," Optimus said.
"That'll be me and Cliffjumper, Optimus," Ironhide said. Ironhide's vehicle mode is a red GMC Topkick, and Cliffjumper's vehicle mode is a Porsche 924.
"We'll get as much of it before the Cons spots us," Cliffjumper said.
Elsewhere, Beachcomber drove around the streets of Porta Vista whose vehicle mode is a blue dune buggy. While in vehicle mode, he was amazed by the city.
"Gotta hand it to this planet, it's a nice place to live. Especially the massive water," Beachcomber said. "The others should see how beautiful it is." Beachcomber observed as much of the beach as he could. He went to his exploration around Earth.
Arcee is a vehicle mode which is a pink convertible, Bumblebee's is a yellow Volkswagen beetle, Wheeljack's is a Lancia Stratos HF, Hound's is a military jeep. Brawn's is a land rover, Inferno's is a firetruck. Huffer's is a Lancia Stratos HF. Gears's is a crimson pickup truck. Trailbreaker's is a 4WD Hilux, Sideswipe's is a red Lamborghini Countach, and Sunstreaker's is a yellow Lamborghini Countach. Jazz's is a Porsche 935, Ratchet's is a Nissan Vanette ambulance. Mirage's is a 1979 F-1Ligier JS11 Formula-1 racer, Bluestreak's is a Nissan Z-car, Smokescreen's is a Nissan 300ZX, Grapple's is a Mitsubishi Fuso Crane Truck, Red Alert's is a Lamborghini Countach LP500S, Skids's is a mini-van, Windcharger's is a Pontiac Firebird, Tracks's is a Chevrolet Corvette, Hoist's is a Hilux Tow Truck, Powerglide's is a Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, while Cosmo's is a flying saucer, Jetfire's is a VF-1 Valkyrie, Bulkhead's is a large green SUV, Blurr's is a blue jet car, and Hot Rod's is an orange and crimson race car. Drift, Perceptor, Blaster are known as Triple Changers. Drift can turn into a Bugatti Veyron and a helicopter, while Perceptor can transform into a microscope and an automobile, while Blaster can transform into a boom box and a bus.
Ironhide, Cliffjumper, and Warpath returned to the Ark with the Energon Cubes in their possession.
"It's quite a haul of Energon, guys. Prime would be impressed by this," Ironhide said.
"I wouldn't be so sure, Ironhide. This pile of Energon might last us for a short while," Cliffjumper said.
"You're not usually a downer, Cliff," Ironhide said.
"Optimus would say he's right Ironhide. And if there are any Cons who get in our way," Warpath readied his weapons. "Kazowy! We blow them right to the Pits where they were forged and meet Unicron himself!"
Back in Unova on the next day, the Junior Cup second round has officially begun as the eight remaining trainers are ready to go.
"It is now the second round of the Junior Cup! With me to help with the play-by-play is Unova's Champion Alder!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Let's hope that the battles we watched yesterday are as enjoyable as today's battles!" Alder said.
"And here are the eight remaining trainers who have made it in round 2! Now, let's see who shall be battling who!" Freddy O'Martian announced as the computer has shuffled the matchups are being made. The results has come in. The first battle will be Hilbert against Gladion. The second battle will be Sora against Iris. The third battle will be Cheren against Cilan. And the fourth battle will be Hugh against Riku. "And the results are in! Battle number one will be Hilbert versus Gladion! Battle numero dos will be Sora against Iris! The third battle shall be Cheren against Cilan! And the fourth and final battle will be Hugh versus Riku!"
"Looks like the battles today will be intense!" Barry said.
"Sora, Riku, Cilan, Iris, Hugh, Gladion, Cheren, Hilbert, give it your all," Lucas said.
The first battle has started as both Hilbert and Gladion has entered the battlefield.
"The first battle of the second round has begun! On the left is Hilbert, while on the right is Gladion!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Let's see what sort of surprises Gladion has planned for Hilbert!" Alder said. Gladion took out an Ultra Ball and threw it.
"Go! Lycanroc!" Gladion called out. His Lycanroc came out with a howl.
"Oh my! A Lycanroc! A Midnight Form Lycanroc, no doubt," Cilan said.
"That's exactly right, Gladion," Riku said. "His Lycanroc is a force to be reckoned with." Hilbert took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Durant!" Hilbert called out. A Durant came out and clamped its mandibles together.
"That's a good choice in Hilbert's part. Lycanroc is a Rock Type Pokémon. And weak against Steel Types," Dawn said.
"Yeah, but with Gladion, it's not always the case," Terra said.
"Begin the battle!" The referee called out.
"Durant! Use Metal Claw!" Hilbert ordered. Durant rushed towards the wolf Pokémon with Metal Claw.
"Lycanroc! Use Counter!" Gladion ordered. Lycanroc's body gave off a light blue aura and gave Durant a punch.
"Durant's first attack failed thanks to Lycanroc's Counter!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Judging by how Lycanroc used that Counter, it has been taking lots of training!" Alder added.
"Durant! Iron Head!" Hilbert ordered. Durant came right at Lycanroc with Iron Head.
"Lycanroc! Dodge and use Crunch!" Gladion ordered. Lycanroc dodges Durant's Iron Head and lands a bite attack onto the iron ant Pokémon. "Now use Swords Dance!" Lycanroc howls and multiple light-blue swords circle around him. The swords stop and point towards Lycanroc, end first, before disappearing. A red aura then bursts from the ground underneath it, before a lighter-colored red aura goes upwards along its body, boosting Lycanroc's attack power.
"Lycanroc's attack power has gone up thanks to that Swords Dance!" Alder announced.
"It sure has! It spells bad news for Hilbert and Durant!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Stone Edge!" Gladion ordered. Lycanroc hurls Stone Edge right at Durant, dealing some damage onto it. "Now, use Outrage!" Lycanroc's eyes glow red and a burst of light red energy comes from the ground and momentarily surrounds his body. He then repeatedly punches Durant with one of his claws. Lycanroc gave Durant one more punch, resulting in a knockout.
"Durant is unable to battle! Lycanroc wins! The winner is Gladion!" The referee announced.
"Gladion takes the first win of the second round and is moving on in the semifinals!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That Lycanroc has been trained incredibly well! His next opponent will have to put up a good fight in the next round!" Alder said.
Sora and Iris both looked at each other and nodded at each other.
"It's official, Iris," Sora said.
"Let's make it one everyone will enjoy, Sora," Iris said.
"No matter who wins just know it's been a thrilling battle," Sora said.
"Likewise!" Iris said, high five each other.
A few minutes later, Sora and Iris both got on the battlefield and got ready to battle.
"The second match of the Junior Cup is about to begin! On the right, it's the budding Dragon Master, Iris and the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, Sora Ketchum!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I am hoping the battle these two gives us here will be quite a treat!" Alder said.
"And knowing those two, it'll be a delicious treat," Cilan said. Sora and Iris each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Dragonite!" Iris called out. Dragonite came on out. Dragonite roared upon entry.
"Go! Haxorus!" Sora called out. Haxorus came out as well. Dragonite glared right at Haxorus, and he glared right back at Dragonite.
"Sora and Iris has both chosen Dragon Type Pokémon for this battle!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"And it's a gusty move for the both of them, because it's a known fact that Dragon Type Pokémon are weak against Dragon Type moves!" Alder announced.
"I could have battled that Haxorus! Hard to believe he beat my Beartic with that thing when it was just an Axew!" Georgia exclaimed in frustration.
"Axew, let this battle teach you something!" Sora called out to Axew.
"Axew!" Axew said.
"What do you mean, Sora?" Iris asked.
"You remember our battle between us back at the Village of Dragons, right?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, what about it?" Iris asked.
"The reason I chose Haxorus for this match would to help inspire Axew even more. Just to get his dragon fire burning," Sora said.
"I appreciate what you're doing, but Axew's my Pokémon!" Iris reminded Sora.
"Yeah, you would do the same thing," Sora said.
"Sora's right. I would use this battle to help Axew get pumped. It's the same thing for Deino and Druddigon, too! I'm going to win this for Axew, Druddigon, and Deino!" Iris said in her thoughts.
"Battle begin!" The referee called out.
"Dragonite! Use Flamethrower!" Iris ordered. Dragonite fired Ice Beam at Haxorus.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Haxorus dodges Dragonite's Ice Beam and swipes at Dragonite with Dragon Claw.
"Haxorus lands a heavy hit on Dragonite with Dragon Claw!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That move will definitely ruin Dragonite's day, that's for sure!" Alder said.
"Dragonite! Use Flamethrower!" Iris ordered. Dragonite fired Flamethrower at the axe jaw Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Breaking Swipe!" Sora ordered. Haxorus swings his tail and heads right towards Dragonite. Dragonite grabbed Haxorus's tail and threw him to the side.
"Dragonite blocked that Breaking Swipe and hurls it down to the ground!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Dragonite isn't going to let it hit it that easily!" Alder said.
"Okay, Dragonite! Thunder Punch!" Iris ordered. Dragonite lands an electrified punch onto Haxorus. "Thunder Punch again!" Dragonite lands another electrified punch onto Haxorus.
"Haxorus! Dragon Pulse!" Sora ordered. Haxorus fired Dragon Pulse right at Dragonite. The dragon Pokémon raised his arms and just the attack head-on.
"Ice Beam!" Iris ordered. Dragonite fired Ice Beam right Haxorus.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Haxorus tried to dodge, but his leg gets frozen. "Haxorus!"
"Thunder Punch!" Iris ordered. Dragonite lands another Thunder Punch onto Haxorus, breaking the ice on his leg. "Flamethrower!" Dragonite fires Flamethrower at Haxorus, dealing some damage. The damage was minimal due to his resistance to Fire Type attacks. Iris said in her thoughts, "Haxorus isn't easy to take down, just like Drayden's Haxorus. Sora did that the hard way. And that's what I'm going to do!"
"Haxorus! Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered.
"Dragonite! Dragon Rush!" Iris ordered. Dragonite came rushing at Haxorus hard.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Haxorus charged right at Dragonite. Each one of them has landed a hit onto the other. Haxorus and Dragonite stood on their feet for a moment. Haxorus fell on one knee. Dragonite then fell on his belly, beaten.
"Dragonite is unable to battle! Haxorus wins!" The referee announced. The crowd goes wild.
"And Sora takes the win and he moves on!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"That was a firce battle between those two! Truly enjoyable!" Alder said.
"Oh, I can't believe I lost!" Iris groaned.
"Don't sweat it, Iris. You gave it your all. And we did it to get Axew fired up," Sora said as he points to Axew. The tusk Pokémon cheered heavily for both of Sora and Iris. Iris smiled.
"You're right, Sora. It was a great battle," Iris said. Both Sora and Iris shook hands. Cilan and Cheren got ready for their battle.
"Up next for this bout, it's Cilan, one of the three Gym Leaders of the Striaton City Gym versus Cheren!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"You ready to have a delightful and delectable meal of a battle, Cheren?" Cilan asked.
"I must say, I enjoyed the battle I had with Chili, but a battle against you should prove enjoyable," Cheren said.
"Battle, begin!" The referee called out. Cilan and Cheren each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Amoongus!" Cilan called out.
"Go! Garbodor!" Cheren called out. His Garbodor entered the battlefield, ready to go.
"Cilan has chosen Amoongus while Cheren has chosen Garbodor! Both being Poison Type Pokémon!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Poison Powder won't affect Garbodor since it's already a Poison Type, so I still have some of his other moves at my disposal! Amoongus! Use Sludge Bomb!" Amoongus fired Sludge Bomb at the trash heap Pokémon.
"Garbodor! Use Gunk Shot!" Cheren ordered. Garbodor puts its hands together, and a silver light starts sparkling between them. The light then turns into a black bag of garbage outlined in purple, which Garbodor hurls at the opponent. It explodes on impact, sending pieces of glowing purple garbage flying. The attack struck Amoongus and send the mushroom Pokémon backwards.
"Garbodor is making good use of Gunk Shot!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I have heard of a sticky situation, but this should be considered a stinky one," Alder said. The battlefield started to reak of garbage.
"Now use Sludge Wave!" Cheren ordered. Garbodor unleashed Sludge Wave and lands a heavy hit onto Amoongus.
"Amoongus! Use Spore!" Cilan ordered. Amoongus releases a sparkling, green powder at Garbodor. Garbodor blew the powder back to Amoongus, giving him a taste of his own medicine. Amoongus fell right to sleep.
"Uh-oh! Amoongus has fallen victim to its own Spore!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Just when Cilan was about to have the upper hand, Cheren finds a way around Cilan's plans!" Alder said.
"Garbodor! Gunk Shot!" Cheren ordered. Garbodor puts its hands together, and a silver light starts sparkling between them. The light then turns into a black bag of garbage outlined in purple, which Garbodor hurls at the opponent. It explodes on impact, sending pieces of glowing purple garbage flying, and struck Amoongus, resulting in a knockout.
"Amoongus is unable to battle! Garbodor wins! Cheren wins the battle!" The referee announced. Burgundy felt satisfied by Cilan's defeat.
"Oh, the loser Connoisseur up and lost," Burgundy gloated.
"You realize you lost, too, don't you?" Barry asked.
"Don't bother, Barry. Burgundy just won't let up the whole 'I hate Cilan' bit," Sora said.
"She's such a little kid," Iris said.
"I AM NOT A LITTLE KID!" Burgundy exclaimed angrily, spitting when she spoke.
"Hey, Daffy Duck, say it, don't spray it!" Sora said.
"One more battle will be underway soon!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"As soon as the smell is cleared out," Alder added. The battlefield took a few minutes to clean. Once it was cleaned up and the air clear of the odor, the fourth battle was about to begin.
"And now we are down to the fourth match! We have on our left, Riku, and on the right, it's Hugh!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"So, Hugh, how did your sister feel about having her Purrloin back?" Riku asked.
"She's extremely happy, Riku. Now that Team Plasma's down, Unova won't have to worry about them," Hugh said.
"Let's do this," Riku said.
"Battle begin!" The referee called out. Riku took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Sawk!" Riku called out. His Sawk came out doing a Karate kick. Hugh took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Flygon!" Hugh called out, letting out Flygon. "Flygon! Start up with Dragon Claw!" Flygon flew right at the karate Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Karate Chop!" Riku ordered. Sawk dodged and came rushing towards Flygon with Karate Chop.
"Dragon Claw again!" Hugh ordered. Flygon came rushing towards Sawk and slashed Sawk.
"Dual Chop!" Riku ordered. Sawk gave a couple of chops Flygon. "Now, use Cross Chop!" Sawk crossed his arms and lands a hit onto Flygon.
"Incredible! Sawk is giving Flygon a real run for its money! How will Hugh respond?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Flygon! Fight back with Dragon Claw!" Hugh ordered. Flygon slashed at Sawk, but misses when Sawk jumped out of the way. "Now use Fire Blast!" Flygon fired its Fire Blast at Sawk, landing a heavy hit. Sawk fell on his back.
"And Sawk is down!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Sawk got back up on his feet.
"Maybe, but not out!" Alder added.
"Sawk! Dual Chop repeatedly!" Riku ordered. Sawk gave Flygon a bunch of hits from Dual Chop.
"Flygon's taking a lot of hits from Dual Chop!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"It's a known factor that Dragon Type Pokémon are weak against their own attacks!" Alder added.
"Now use Low Sweep!" Riku ordered. Sawk gave Flygon a kick on its leg. "Dual Chop!" Sawk lands a couple of chops onto Flygon, landing a knockout.
"Flygon is unable to battle! Sawk wins! The winner is Riku!" The referee announced.
"And Riku makes four to make it to the semifinals!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"An excellent job from these four young trainers! It makes an old man proud to see so much spirit and determination that got them to go this far!" Alder said.
The crowd cheered on as the mugshots of Sora, Riku, Gladion, and Cheren on display.
"And now it is time to see who will be battling who in the semifinals matches taking place tomorrow!" Freddy O'Martian announced. The computer shuffled the finalists and matched them up. It turns out to be, Sora versus Gladion and Riku versus Cheren. Everyone were stunned to see Sora against Gladion, especially Kairi.
"Sora's up against Gladion. This will be a difficult battle," Kairi said. Karen looked at Kairi.
"What do you mean, Kairi?" Karen asked.
"You remember when I told about their first battle, Karen?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. Sora battled Gladion and lost," Karen said. Karen then realized what she meant. "Oh, I see what you mean."
"Riku also battled Gladion before and he also lost to him," Naminé said. "It was Eevee against his Umbreon."
"I remember hearing that," Terra said.
"Riku and Gladion battled each other whenever they met, and Riku always lost," Aqua said.
"Gladion's Pokémon are both awesome, and strong. Especially his Silvally," Ventus said.
"Didn't you mention that Sora and Riku also has a Silvally each?" Karen asked.
"They did. The purpose for them was to battle against Ultra Beasts," Kairi said.
"Those Pokémon from Ultra Space," Karen said.
"Right," Kairi said.
"Before we close off for the day, I believe our Champion has something he wants to share with our four lucky finalists!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Alder stood up and spoke in the microphone.
"Those were great battles today! You four go and have yourselves a good rest! For tommorow will be intense! But the battle with me will be no walk in the park!" Alder said.
After the second round, the Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Lucas, Dawn, Barry, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Azurill, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair all came back to the villa and had themselves a good meal.
"You think you'll beat Gladion this time, Sora?" Ventus asked.
"I don't know, Ven. He's not going to pull any punches with me," Sora said.
"Which one will you be using?" Karen asked.
"Chu," Blossom said.
"I was thinking of Genesect. I figure maybe Gladion will be using Silvally and give it a Fire Memory since Genesect is a Bug and Style Type, I thought I'd give it the Douse Drive to counter that," Sora said.
"That's real clever, Sora," Iris said.
"Axew," Axew said.
"Yeah, but still, Silvally won't be easy to take down even with the Douse Drive," Sora said.
"You're right. Silvally is the strongest Pokémon he's got," Riku said.
"You think that's gonna stop you, Sora?" Terra asked.
"No," Sora said. "I'm not counting on a win, what I'm counting on is his reaction when I'm using Genesect for the first time."
"Oh, I'm sure he'll be in for a real treat," Meowth said.
Meanwhile in Kanto, Blurr in vehicle mode drove incredibly fast.
"Woo! This is amazing! Isn't this amazing? It's amazing! It's actually nice not to worry about Decepticons once in a while! No Cons, no fighting, and no worries, except for how the locals would react if they saw what I actually look like, but at least I got me a fast vehicle mode!" Blurr said, talking fast.
Blurr drove back to the Ark with all the Autobots present and accounted for.
"Good of you to show up, Blurr. Optimus is about to start talking," Bumblebee said. Optimus started to speak up.
"Fellow Autobots, we have been awaken on this planet for a short time, and we have already learned so much about the natives of the planet," Optimus said.
"Yeah, just what are those things out there?" Bulkhead asked.
"The creatures of this planet are known as human beings. And the creatures along with them are what they call Pokémon. Apparently, these two can coexist together like we Autobots and Decepticons used to do before the war began," Optimus said.
"My concern is how the humans and Pokémon will react when they're caught in the crossfire when the Cons begins their attack," Arcee said.
"I share your concern, Arcee," Optimus said. "If the worse shall come to pass, then we mustn't hesitate to engage them."
"They could be flying around on the Nemesis, seeing what else what the planet has," Tracks said.
"No way, because we shot that ship down," Blaster said.
"Indeed, but that was before the Nemesis took a good blast at us," Perceptor said. "My theory is, the Decepticons might be trying to find a way to get their ship up and running."
"Shouldn't we try to get the Ark fixed up? I mean, it is the only piece of Cynertronian tech we have left," Gears said.
"We even if we could, but I'm afraid the crash has played its role in our current predicament. Even if we get the Ark repaired, its flight capabilities has been permanently damaged," Ratchet said.
"Yes, but everything else remains functional. We should set up our ground bridge so we could see what else is on the planet," Wheeljack said.
"Agreed. And in doing so, we must maintain cover to avoid attention until it is necessary," Optimus said.
"Anyone thinks maybe the Cons could have the same problem as us?" Jazz asked.
"Not if you're Megatron," Prowl said.
"Or a certain one-eyed Decepticon," Hot Rod said.
Back in Unova, Ein has kept an eye on his Kyurem clones and he chuckled evilly.
"Yes, you are nearly complete," Ein said. "Soon you will have your chance."
Now that the second part of the Junior Cup is over and done with, how will the battle between Sora and Gladion play out? And how soon are Ein's Kyurem clones? And what will be Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair when they meet the Autobots and learn of the war between them and the Decepticons?
