Episode 493: The Junior Cup Part 3
Sora slept soundly in the room provided to him and his friends during their stay in Harmony City. As Sora slept, he began to have visions of what was coming.
In his vision, he saw two Kyurem, one being like Reshiram and another being like a Zekrom. He also saw the Forces of Nature in the sky and four shadowy figures. Sora woke up with cold sweat.
"What was that about?" Sora asked in his thoughts. Ventus woke up with concern.
"Sora?" Ventus asked. Sora looked right at his cousin. "You okay?" Sora gave an assuring smile.
"I'm okay. There's nothing to worry about, Ven. Go back to sleep," Sora said.
"Okay," Ventus said with a yawn. "You should take your own advice."
"Okay, I'll go back to sleep, too. Sorry to wake you," Sora said, laying back down. Ventus did the same thing. Sora took a deep breath as he shuts his eyes. He said in his thoughts, "I hope it was just a dream."
On the next morning, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Lucas, Dawn, Barry, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Azurill, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were eating some breakfast made by Kairi and Cilan.
"Get it while it's hot," Kairi said, giving her boyfriend a plate of pancakes.
"Looks tasty," Sora said, taking a bite. "And that confirms it." This made Kairi smiled affectionately and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Sora," Kairi said.
Later, Sora has his Genesct out, and he places the Douse Drive into Genesect's cannon.
"Okay, Genesect. You'll be up against a a really powerful Pokémon. I don't expect you to win, but I expect you to give it your all," Sora said.
Back in Kanto in the Ark, Optimus Prime looked at the screens and displayed. Optimus wasn't without worry as he remembered the war for Cybertron.
(Flashback)
It was back ten thousand years (or ten thousand stellar cycles in Cybertronian), the planet Cybertron was in ruins. Optimus Prime and Ratchet were driving in Cybertronian vehicle mode. They were exiting a tower. Optimus and Ratchet transformed into their robot modes. They were ambushed by purple Decepticons, aiming their weapons. These Decepticons are Vehicons. Optimus and Ratchet fire at the Decepticons. The Vehicons are all struck by Optimus and Ratchet. They leave one left to question.
"Where is Alpha Trion?" Optimus asked.
"Get melted, gear grinder!" The Vehicon said.
"I will ask for a second time. Where is Alpha Trion?" Optimus asked.
"I will take it with me to the Pits, Prime!" The Vehicon spat. He aims his weapon at Optimus. "And I'll take you with me!" Just then, the Vehicon is shot in the head. The shot came from Hot Rod.
"He wouldn't have talked anyway," Hot Shot said.
"We needed him!" Ratchet exclaimed.
"He wouldn't have talked anyway," Hot Rod said. "But I know where Alpha Trion is being held."
"How would you know?" Ratchet asked.
"I heard some Cons talking. They said they were taking him to Kaon," Hot Rod said.
"By the AllSpark. We must mount a rescue," Optimus said.
"Optimus, it might be a trap," Ratchet said.
"Regardless, there is no other option," Optimus said. "Alpha Trion must be set free." Hot Spot stepped forward.
"I can lend a hand, Optimus," Hot Rod said.
"I welcome the help. What is your name, young Autobot?" Optimus asked.
"Hot Spot, sir," Hot Rod answered.
"I welcome your help, Hot Rod," Optimus said.
(Flashback ends)
Optimus was deep in his thoughts as he looked at the screen and sighed.
Over to Wheeljack, Bumblebee, and Hot Rod, Wheeljack managed to access the media.
"There, that should do it," Wheeljack said. "We should be able to learn more about this planet." The screen displays a Pokémon battle taking place. It is between a Venusaur and. Blastoise. Blastoise fires Ice Beam at Venusaur, resulting in a knockout.
"That's awesome, Wheeljack!" Bumblebee exclaimed.
"You're a genius," Hot Rod added.
"I've dabbled," Wheeljack said. Jazz walks in.
"Bee, Hot Rod, Prime wants you both out in the field in patrol! Wheeljack, Ratchet needs your assistance in the lab. He needs help working on the ground bridge," Jazz said.
"You can count on me," Wheeljack said.
"On it," Bumblebee said as he and Hot Rod transformed into vehicle mode and drove out.
Back in Unova, the mysterious figure opened a gateway into another world and walked in. The world he entered through is Equestria. The mysterious figure is a cornflower blue ram with a white mane, tail and eyebrows, large dark azure horns and hooves and pale apple green eyes with red pupils. He has a goatee, sharp large horns and a red collar with big golden studs and a single chain link at the center that held his magical bells.
"So much has changed in all the time I have been away. I shall reclaim it soon enough. But even with my power, Twilight Sparkle and her friends will only use their magic to stop me. Probably place me into Tartarus, or turn me into stone along with those three that idiotic Dragonequus pretended to be me. But this time, there will be no mistake," the ram said. He came across the stone figurines. One being a shriveled centaur, one being a tall equine with fangs, and one being a pegasus filly. The ram uses his magic to free them. He then teleports them and himself back into the Unova region.
The centaur's lower body is black, with a white horse tail and cloven hooves. His upper body appears to be covered in black fur, except his arms and face, which are crimson red. He has a pair of horns and a white beard, his eyes are jet black with yellow pupils. He wore steel bracelets which seem to be all that remains of his shackles, a steel collar, and a ring in his nose. He has a primate/bull-like shape. The equine creature is black and sleek like the carapace of an insect, her hooves had holes through the limbs, her wings are thin and see through, sporting holes just like her legs, her mane is a dark blue-green, her horn jagged and curved, fanged teeth in her maw, and has green eyes. The pegasus filly has a pink coat, auburn eyes, a cyan mane and tail that are both decorated with a white bow and white freckles on either cheek. She has a brown rook for a cutie mark.
"Where are we?" The filly asked.
"Where is everypony? Where did they all go?" The insect equine asked.
"One minute we had them right where we wanted them, and in the next, we've been petrified!" The centaur groaned.
"It would seem you all failed," the ram stated. The three creatures looked at the ram. "Lord Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow. You tried to take over Equestria and failed."
"Grogar?" The filly asked.
"Or it's just Discord just pretending to be Grogar again," the insect equine said.
"We're not falling for it again," the centaur said. The ram slammed them down on the ground with his magic.
"Be silent!" Grogar shouted. "I am not the dragonequus whom you speak of. I am the real Grogar. I released you from your stone prison, and I brought you here into this world."
"Where is here exactly?" Tirek asked.
"You are in a land known as the Unova region. This world has creatures called humans and Pokémon," Grogar said.
"Unova region?" Cozy Glow asked.
"Humans? Poké-what?" Chrysalis asked.
"They are the creatures that inhabit this world," Grogar said.
"Okay, let's try to see if we could have a grasp of the situation. Is this where you have been all this time?" Cozy Glow asked.
"Yes. Gusty the Great has defeated me with my own bell, and she then banished me into this world. It was a world where my power had no effect. I was drained of my power and stranded here. I spent millennia wondering around this land. But I have learned of some artifacts that will help me gain the power I desire," Grogar said.
"And that would be?" Chrysalis asked. Grogar grinned.
"The Reveal Glass," Grogar said, using his magic to show them the image of the Reveal Glass. "Many centuries ago, the Reveal Glass was created by the humans. They intended to use its power to take control of the legendary Pokémon known as Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. With this artifact, they could use it to change their appearance to reflect the element each represents. The human organization known as Team Shadow intends to use it for their own ends."
"What does that have to do with us?" Tirek asked.
"I shall use it to control these Pokémon with my own power. You shall retrieve it for me! And if you shall fail or you should betray me, then I will put you back in the stone prison where I found you!" Grogar said.
"Just how do you intend to keep us in line?" Chrysalis asked.
"I am glad you asked. Because upon releasing you, I have placed a precaution on each of you; a precaution my imposter should have placed on you. You could say that you are cursed," Grogar said.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Chrysalis asked.
"It means if any one of you tries anything, then you shall pay the price. It'll return you to the stone state as you were before I came to you," Grogar said.
"You mean you placed a spell on us in case we try anything funny? That's not right," Cozy Glow said.
"You can all see that I am not even close to forgiving as my pretender. Now go! And do not fail!" Grogar said. Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow took off to get to the Reveal Glass.
Back in Harmony City, the semifinals was about to start. The first battle is between Sora and Gladion.
"The semifinals has officially begun! We are now down to four trainers who have made it this far in this year's Junior Cup! On my left, it's Sora, and on my right it's Gladion!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Both of these boys has made it this far since the tournament first got started! Can't help but wonder what they have in store for us today!" Alder said. Sora took out his Pokéball as Gladion took out his Premier Ball.
"Go! Silvally!" Gladion called out. Silvally came out with a roar.
"Just as I thought! Go! Genesect!" Sora called out. Genesect emerged from the Pokéball, ready to go. Everyone were all awestruck to seeing Genesect with their own eyes. Genesect looked around at the people. "Don't think about them, Genesect. Focus on your opponent." Gladion was just as amazed.
"A Genesect. Sora must have been saving it for this occasion. Like Riku, you never disappoint me," Gladion said.
"I just don't believe what I am seeing, ladies and gentlemen, but it appears to be the extinct Pokémon, Genesect against the artificial Pokémon, Silvally!" Freddy O'Martian announced. "This should be a real interesting battle here! Wouldn't you agree, Alder?"
"I sure would. These two Pokémon are both interesting and powerful! And adding on, this will be loads of fun to watch!" Alder announced.
"Genesect! Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Genesect came at Silvally with Metal Claw.
"Silvally! Dodge and use Crush Claw!" Gladion ordered. Silvally dodged Genesect's Metal Claw and slashed at the paleozoic Pokémon. "Now use Air Slash!" Silvally fired Air Slash, and lands a hit onto Genesect.
"Genesect! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Genesect lands a hit with Quick Attack. "Keep hitting it with Quick Attack!" Genesect kept attacking Silvally with Quick Attack. "Now, use X-Scissor!" Genesect came right Silvally and lands a hit with X-Scissor.
"Silvally! Air Slash again!" Gladion fired another Air Slash, landing a hit onto Genesect. "Now use Double Hit!" Silvally lands a couple of hits onto the paleozoic Pokémon. "Now, use Crush Claw!" Silvally came at Genesect with Crush Claw.
"Sora and Gladion are giving it their all out there!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Like I said. Those two aren't backing down one bit!" Alder announced.
"Genesect! Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Genesect came at Silvally with Metal Claw, and lands a hit. "Now use X-Scissor!" Genesect slashed at Silvally with X-Scissor.
"Genesect is making a huge comeback with a vengeance!" Freddy O'Martian announced. "What else could those two give each other!" Gladion took out a Fire Memory.
"Genesect is a Bug and Steel Type, so I have just the thing to take this down fast," Gladion said. "Take this Fire Memory!" Gladion threw the Fire Memory at Silvally and turned into a Fire Type Pokémon.
"Gladion has turned his Silvally into a Fire Type Pokémon to combat Genesect!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"It's a known fact that Genesect is both a Bug Type and a Steel Type, and both are weak against Fire Types," Alder said. Sora grinned.
"I knew he was going to do that. He fell right into my trap," Sora said in this thoughts.
"Silvally! Use Multi-Attack!" Gladion ordered. Silvally came at Genesect with Multi-Attack.
"Genesect! Techno Blast!" Sora ordered. Genesect fires a water-like beam of energy from its cannon at Silvally, dealing some heavy damage. Gladion was stunned to witness Genesect's signature attack. Gladion just smiled as he saw the Douse Drive in Genesect's cannon.
"Very impressive, Sora. You knew I was going to make my Silvally a Fire Type, so Genesect's Techno Blast came out as a Water Type move. Well played," Gladion said in his thoughts.
"Okay, Gladion isn't going to fall for the same trick twice, so I'll have to be smart about my next move," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Silvally! Use Air Slash!" Gladion ordered. Silvally fires another Air Slash right at Genesect.
"Dodge and use Techno Blast again!" Sora ordered. Genesect fired Techno Blast right at Silvally.
"Dodge and use Multi-Attack!" Gladion ordered. Silvally dodges Techno Blast and came at Genesect with Multi-Attack, landing some heavy damage.
"Gladion has put a real damper onto Sora's attack!" Freddy O'Martian announced. "That looked like a real bad hit for Sora's part! Can he keep it up?"
"We're all about to find out," Alder said. Genesect struggles to get up on its feet. Genesect starts panting heavily. "Genesect is getting pooped out there."
"Genesect used up more energy than I thought. This battle's taking a real toll on it," Sora said in his thoughts. Sora spoke in his thoughts, "Genesect! One more X-Scissor!" Genesect came at Silvally with X-Scissor.
"Air Slash!" Gladion ordered. Silvally fired Air Slash once again. Genesect was struck by Air Slash. "Now, use Multi-Attack!" Silvally came at Genesect and lands another hit onto Genesect. The paleozoic Pokémon was then taken down.
"Genesect is down, but is it out?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Genesect struggled to stand back up, but it fell back on down. Genesect was beaten.
"Genesect is unable to battle! Silvally wins! The winner is Gladion!" The referee announced.
"And Sora takes a dive as Gladion moves up to the finals!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Sora has put up a great fight! This match would have gotten either way!" Alder said.
"Sora, you were amazing," Kairi said in her thoughts.
"Sora lost," Karen and Ventus both said at once.
"He gave it his all, you two," Terra said.
"Terra's right. There's no need to be gloomy," Aqua added.
"Yeah, he did his best," Meowth said.
Sora and Gladion walked up to each other and shook hands.
"That was a great battle, Gladion. You were great as always," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. That was an enjoyable battle," Gladion said. "This battle just showed how much stronger you've gotten."
"Good luck in the finals, not that you'll need it," Sora said.
"Thanks all the same," Gladion said.
Riku was watching from start to finish and he smiled at the both of them.
"You could have beaten him, Sora. But, it's no surprise to me to see Gladion win again," Riku said.
The battle between Riku and Cheren got to the battlefield and got ready to go.
"And now, we are here to have our very next battle! It's Riku against Cheren!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Riku and Cheren both took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up, Zebstrika!" Riku called out.
"Go! Scrafty!" Cheren called out. Zebstrika and Scrafty both came out and glared at each other. "Cheren! Begin with Fire Punch!"
"Zebstrika! Dodge and use Flame Charge!" Riku ordered. Zebstrika dodges and came running towards Scrafty and lands a hit.
"Use Zen Headbutt!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty ran towards the zebra-like Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Shock Wave!" Riku ordered. Zebstrika dodges Scrafty's Zen Headbutt and gave Scrafty a hit with Shock Wave.
"Riku's Zebstrika is giving Cheren's Scrafty quite an onslaught!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"He sure is. Thanks to Zebstrika's increased speed, Zebstrika is really giving it to Scrafty!" Alder said.
"Use Double Kick!" Riku ordered. Zebstrika gave Scrafty a couple of kicks, dealing some heavy damage.
"Scrafty! Use Crunch!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty came towards Zebstrika and lands a bite onto one of Zebstrika's back legs. "Fire Punch!" Scrafty lands a Fire Punch onto Zebstrika.
"Scrafty is now pushing back hard! This might be Cheren's chance!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Finish it with Zen Headbutt!" Cheren ordered.
"Zebstrika! Thunderbolt!" Riku ordered. Zebstrika gave Scrafty a shock with Thunderbolt, landing a paralysis. "Double Kick!" Zebstrika lands Double Kick, finishing Scrafty off.
"Scrafty is unable to battle! Zebstrika wins! The winner is Riku!" The referee announced.
"And Riku makes it to the final round of the Junior Cup!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"It sure has!" Alder agreed. "The final round shall begin within one hour! Gladion, Riku, you are to rest up and be prepared for the final match! And whomever emerges victorious in the next battle will have the honor of facing me!" Riku and Gladion nodded at each other, promising each other a good battle.
Meanwhile over to the Nemesis, Starscream is patrolling the halls of the ship as he groaned to himself.
"Megatron, what a fool. If anyone should lead the Decepticons, it shall be me," Starscream said. "For many stellar cycles, I have served as his second-in-command, and what does he give me? Nothing but his abuse. All that will change when I am the leader of the Decepticons. I will destroy Optimus Prime and his fellow Autobots! And then, the Decepticons and soon, all of Cybertron shall bow before me!" Starscream laughed to himself. "But, I need to plan my move carefully. All I need is an opportunity to do so. Megatron has something that I lack. He has an army, while I just have my Seekers, and even they won't be enough. And the only problem is many of them are loyal to Megatron. Once Megatron is nothing but spare parts, they will have no choice but to worship me."
Back in Harmony City, an hour has passed Riku and Gladion got ready for their battle.
"And here we are for the final battle! Riku and Gladion both from the Alola region!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I'm just wondering what these two have in mind!" Alder announced. Riku turned to his partner.
"You're up, Eevee," Riku said. Eevee stepped in. Gladion grinned.
"I know how you think, Riku. And I have just the thing," Gladion said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Umbreon!" Umbreon came out to battle and grinned at Eevee.
"We both knew this day was coming. You ready to take me on now?" - Umbreon subtitle.
"You know it, Umbreon. And to answer your question, I am ready to take you on. I have been training for this rematch for a long time. I plan to give you everything I have." - Eevee subtitle.
"It's Eevee versus Umbreon! Umbreon has the advantage because Umbreon is one of Eevee's evolved form!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"There can be exceptions when it comes to a Pokémon battle like this!" Alder said.
"Eevee! Quick Attack!" Riku ordered. Eevee ran towards his Dark Type evolved form with his speed attack.
"Umbreon! Iron Tail!" Gladion ordered. Umbreon swung his tail and struck Eevee on the mark.
"Eevee! Dig!" Riku ordered. Eevee dug through the ground. Umbreon looked around for Eevee to come out. Eevee came out of the ground. "Use Shadow Ball!" Eevee fired Shadow Ball right at Umbreon.
"Umbreon! Shadow Ball!" Gladion ordered. Umbreon fired Shadow Ball right at Eevee's Shadow Ball, blocking the attack, resulting in an explosion.
"Both fired Shadow Ball and both collides with one another!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"A real clash of power between the two evolved forms!" Alder added.
"Umbreon! Dark Pulse!" Gladion ordered. Umbreon fired Dark Pulse.
"Quick Attack!" Riku ordered. Eevee dashed to dodge Umbreon's Dark Pulse.
"Keep firing Dark Pulse!" Gladion ordered. Umbreon kept firing Dark Pulse, and he struck Eevee hard. "Excellent! Use Iron Tail!" Umbreon lands a hit onto Eevee with Iron Tail. "Finish Eevee off with Iron Tail!" Umbreon lands another hit with Iron Tail, sending Eevee down at the ground. Eevee tried to get up, but fell back down.
"Eevee is unable to battle! Umbreon wins! Gladion wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"And Gladion wins the Junior Cup! A huge congratulations is in order! And not only that, but Gladion has earned the right to battle Alder!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
Gladion accepts the winning trophy as Sora, Riku, and the other participants has earned keychains shaped like Alder for their participation.
"Congratulations, Gladion," Riku said.
"If one of us had to win it, we're glad that it was you," Sora said.
"Thank you both," Gladion said. "I enjoyed battling the both of you. You both gave me everything you had, and you haven't accepted giving up as an option. And I can respect that. You both have my respect." Sora and Riku smiled.
A little while later, Gladion and Alder got set for their battle. Gladion took his position as did Alder.
"And now, the moment we've all been anxiously been waiting for! The battle with Gladion, the wonder of Alola versus Unova's Champion, Alder! Both trainers will be using one Pokémon each and the battle shall be over when either time is up, or when either trainer's Pokémon is unable to continue battling! Let's see how these two will do!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Gladion took out his Premier Ball and threw it.
"Go! Silvally!" Gladion called out. Silvally came on out, ready to battle. Alder took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Bouffalant!" Alder called out. Bouffalant came out and snorted upon entry.
"Battle begin!" The referee called out. Gladion took his Fighting Memory and gave it to Silvally.
"Accept this Fighting Memory!" Gladion called out. Silvally turned into a Fighting Type Pokémon. "Use Crush Claw!" Silvally came at the bash buffalo Pokémon with Crush Claw. Silvally lands a hit. "Use Multi-Attack!" Silvally came right towards Bouffalant and lands a hit with Multi-Attack, but Bouffalant just stood his ground.
"Bouffalant! Use Head Charge!" Alder ordered. Bouffalant charged right at Silvally, landing some heavy damage onto the chimeric Pokémon. "Use Giga Impact!" Bouffalant charged right at Silvally, landing some critical damage. Silvally went down for the count with so much power.
"Silvally is unable to battle! Bouffalant wins! The winner is the Champion!" The referee announced.
"No surprise that the winner came out to be Alder! Well done, and we are hoping for another great Junior Cup tournament like the one we just had! Until next year, that is all she wrote!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
Now that the Junior Cup has reached its conclusion, the only thing left is the Unova Grand Festival and the Unova Pokémon League. Or it would seem. A trio of villains has arrived in the Unova region, so what happens when they get the Reveal Glass from Team Shadow? Just wait and find out.
