Episode 494: Meloetta and the Undersea Temple
A couple of hours has passed since the Junior Cup has reached its conclusion, so all those who participated in the Junior Cup were now departing.
"Now that the Junior Cup's over, where are you heading?" Sora asked.
"I'll be going towards Vertress City for the Unova Pokémon League. I'm hoping to see you there! And we'll duke it out again!" Cameron said. Sora smiled.
"I'll be looking forward to it," Sora said.
"Great!" Cameron said. He and Riolu take their leave. "See you there!" Cameron and Riolu ran off, leaving a dust trail behind.
"I'll be heading there, too. Hope to see you there," Hilbert said.
"Take care until then," Nate said.
Hilbert and Nate both took off for Vertress City as well.
"Iris, you might have won the battle against me, but don't expect the results to be the same the next time!" Georgia said.
"Wouldn't dream of it," Iris said.
"Cilan, we'll meet again! And when we do, just know that I'll make be an A Class Pokémon Connaisseuse when you see me again!" Burgundy said. Cilan smiled.
"I'm looking forward to it," Cilan said. Burgundy growled in frustration. Sora and Kairi turned to the Sinnoh couple and Barry.
"So, where are you guys heading next?" Sora asked.
"We'll be heading back to Sinnoh," Lucas said.
"Yeah, we'll be out on another journey when we get there," Barry said.
"Good luck in the Unova Grand Festival, Kairi. I know you'll be awesome at it," Dawn said.
"Thanks, Dawn. And when we compete in another Contest, I hope we'll face each other again," Kairi said.
"Me too," Dawn said.
"And give my best to Zoey and Kenny when you see them," Kairi said.
"I will," Dawn said. She turned to Karen. "It was great meeting you, Karen."
"Right back at you, Dawn," Karen said.
"It was great seeing you and meeting your new traveling companions," Lucas said.
"Same thing, Lucas," Iris said.
With that said, Lucas, Dawn, and Barry took off for the Sinnoh region and bid farewell to Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta as they took off for home.
"Lucas, hope you'll be a lot stronger the next time we meet. Until then, keep at it," Sora said.
Meanwhile, Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow managed to find Team Shadow at last.
"Who are they?" Cozy Glow asked.
"Better question is what are they?" Chrysalis asked.
"They must be the humans Grogar just told us about," Tirek said.
"What are we waiting for? Let's get it," Cozy Glow said, but Tirek stopped the pegasus filly.
"Hold on, Cozy. We don't know what exactly they're planning," Tirek said.
"What difference does it make? Grogar did tell us to bring it to him, and he'll use that spell on us if we come back empty-hoofed," Chrysalis said.
"We should be smart about this, Chrysalis. There appears to be a major element missing, so we need to know how they intend to use the Reveal Glass; that way, we can learn how to use it ourselves," Tirek said.
"I vote Chrysalis go down there," Cozy Glow said.
"What? Me?" Chrysalis asked.
"She's right, because you're the only one who can shape-shift," Tirek said.
"Fair enough," Chrysalis said. Green flames surrounds her as she changed into a wasp and flew over to Team Shadow's operations. When she got close enough, she began listening in on a conversation between two Team Shadow members.
"Any idea on where Meloetta is?" One of the Team Shadow peons asked.
"No. That Pokémon Hunter we hired couldn't get the job done, so we have to do the heavy-lifting ourselves," the second Team Shadow peon said.
"Yeah. I kinda get why Ein hates them so much. That bitch Hunter J couldn't get the job done, especially with those Digimon in the way," the first Team Shadow peon said.
"Yeah. J got what she deserved when Team Galactic handed her the keys to her own demise," the second Team Shadow peon said. "What's so important about Meloetta, anyway?"
"Meloetta is the key to raise the Abyssal Ruins from the sea. To do that, it has to sing a song," the first Team Shadow peon said. "That's according to Ein, anyway."
"Since we're on the subject, you know what he's been working on in that little lab of his?" The second Team Shadow peon asked.
"He said he's cloning Kyurem, combing the DNA of Reshiram and Zekrom," the first Team Shadow peon said. "The same Pokémon Team Plasma failed to use because Sora Ketchum took them down."
"The same kid who took down Team Rocket?" The second Team Shadow peon asked.
"That's him," the first Team Shadow peon said. "I was amazed when he did that."
"He's going to be real trouble when he shows up," the second Team Shadow peon said.
"We'll deal with him when he does show up. Him and his friends, too," the first Team Shadow peon said.
Chrysalis flew in further and she reached the lab to see Ein and the Kyurem clones in their tubes.
"And what do we have here?" Chrysalis asked herself.
"Nearly complete. Just a little more time, and you two will serve Team Shadow well," Ein said. Ein grinned evilly as a Team Shadow peon entered the lab.
"Sir, we have located Meloetta," the Team Shadow peon reported.
"Where is it?" Ein asked.
"It is located in Harmony City in the summer home of Sinnoh's Champion, Cynthia," the Team Shadow peon said. "And..." The Team Shadow peon was hesitant to speak.
"And what? What is it?" Ein asked.
"We saw that Sora Ketchum and his friends are staying there," the Team Shadow peon said.
"Sora Ketchum is there?" Ein asked. The Team Shadow peon nodded. "Good. With our secret weapons, he won't stand a chance. Take a handful of our forces to Harmony City and retrieve Meloetta. They will fight us to protect Meloetta. And they will fail."
The Team Shadow peon left to gather some of the other peons. Chrysalis flew out without anyone or thing seeing her. She made it back to Tirek and Cozy Glow who were playing chess to pass the time. She changed back to her normal self.
"Chrysalis, what did you find out?" Tirek asked.
"I heard a couple of those humans talking. They said they need something called Meloetta, needing it to sing some kind of song. And I saw another human with something else; two of them. They in some kind of tubes. But, they're making a move. They said they're heading for Harmony City," Chrysalis said.
"Harmony City? Who came up with that?" Cozy Glow asked.
"That is of little importance. We now know what we need to use with the Reveal Glass," Tirek said.
The three villains followed Team Shadow to Harmony City.
Meanwhile back at Cynthia's villa, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were doing some training while Meloetta was watching. Victini was watching as well. Kairi was sparring with Cilan while she had Angel sent out while Cilan had Amoongus out.
"Okay, Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift right at Amoongus.
"Spin around to deflect them!" Cilan called out. Amoongus spins around and the stars bounces right off. Victini was watching Kairi with awe.
N had just returned to the villa, much to the group's surprise.
"N, where were you?" Sora asked.
"Sorry, I was looking for some clues about any other Genesect," N said.
"What did you find so far?" Sora asked.
"Not too much," N answered. "But I have been hearing rumors about other Genesect in the area. It's possible they might have taken off, or there wasn't any others to begin with."
"Either way, any Genesect could be up for grabs for any Pokémon Hunter out there," Sora said.
"I agree. That is why we should keep an eye open for them," N stated.
"Amoongus! Sludge Bomb!" Cilan ordered. Amoongus fired Sludge Bomb at the female Eevee.
"Angel! Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel jumped to dodge and came down with Iron Tail. Amoongus is struck hard by Iron Tail. "That was great, Angel!" Angel ran up to Kairi and licked her face affectionately.
"An excellent battle, Kairi," Cilan said. "I know for certain you'll make a delicious treat for the Unova Grand Festival!"
"Thank you, Cilan. I mean it," Kairi said. Victini appeared before Kairi and gave off some happy noises. "Victini?"
"Tini!" Victini chirped.
"Were you enjoying the show?" Kairi asked. Victini nodded.
"It looks like we had another shadow," Meowth said.
"Victini is a mythical Pokémon just like Meloetta," Ventus said.
"That's exactly right, Ven," Aqua said.
"But what is Victini doing here?" Terra asked.
"Tini, Victini, tini, Victini," Victini said.
"I see," N said.
"I get it," Meowth said.
"What is Victini saying?" Iris asked.
"Victini is saying that it has been interested in Contests ever since they've been introduced to the Unova region," Meowth translated.
"I think Victini wants to be a part of the Contest bit," N said.
"Exactly!" Meowth confirmed.
"Who would have thought it?" Riku asked.
"Eevee," Eevee added.
"I don't know," Kairi said. "You sure?" Victini nodded. "How about you show me what you got." Victini floats in the air and raise its arms in the air. Victini crouches its body together and its whole body glows pale red. Its body then becomes surrounded in a teardrop-shape red flame. It also surrounds its body in a round yellow fire. Victini then fires the flame from its body at the opponent, and it shoots in the air like a spinning meteor. Victini's ears ignite into flames. The flames then disappear, leaving a V-shaped yellow flame around its head and a red aura around Victini's body. Victini then rushes towards the fireball it made before and headbutts it, causing a gigantic and beautiful explosion. Everyone were awestruck by what they saw.
"That was Searing Shot, followed by V-Create," Cilan said.
"Victini must have been practicing with those moves," Karen said.
"Pika, Pika," Blossom said.
Meloetta floats to Victini and smiled right at the victory Pokémon. Victini smiled back.
Meanwhile, a young man wearing an outfit that seems fit for ancient times is riding on his Golurk, searching for something.
"Hurry, Golurk! We must find Meloetta before something terrible happens!" The young man said.
The Team Shadow peons arrived in Harmony City unaware of Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow following them.
"This has got to be the place," Tirek said.
"They said something about a villa, so that's where they'll be heading," Chrysalis said.
"And that's where we'll be going, too," Cozy Glow said. With that said, the three villains followed the Team Shadow peons.
Back to Ein, he saw that the clones were ready, so he drains the tubes of the fluids. The Kyurem clones began to move about much to Ein's delight.
"Yes! Come to me, my creations. I welcome you to life," Ein said. The Kyurem clones looked right at their creator. Ein pets them affectionately.
Back at the villa, the group kept on training as Victini shows off more of its moves for the group.
"Impressive, Victini," Kairi said.
Meloetta then started to sing its song. Up in the sky, the young man hears the song. Golurk descends to the ground.
"How beautiful," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel agreed.
"That's a pretty song," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"Really pretty," Karen added.
"Pika," Blossom said.
Just when Meloetta kept singing, a Flash Cannon is fired upon the group.
"What the?!" Meowth exclaimed.
"Who did that?" Sora asked. He got his answer when a Golurk descends to the ground. "A Golurk?" The young man from before arrived.
"Meloetta! You're safe!" The young man went and embraced Meloetta. "Are you alright?"
"You know Meloetta?" Sora asked.
"Villain! You stole Meloetta from us!" The young man accused.
"Wait a minute, I'm not a villain, and I didn't steal Meloetta from anyone!" Sora said.
"Enough of your lies!" The young man said. "Golurk! Flash Cannon!" Golurk aimed its arm at the group. Meloetta flew out of the young man's arms and defended them much to his surprise. Golurk didn't fire at Meloetta.
"I don't know what your beef is, but you gotta believe me when I tell you that we're not your enemies!" Sora said.
"Listen to him! We're innocent!" Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
The young man knew he made a mistake, because Meloetta would defend anyone who would harm it. Up in a tree, a Spearow is perched on a branch with a camera tied around its leg.
When they went inside, the young man bowed his head in forgiveness.
"I apologize for accusing you. Please forgive my foolishness," the young man said.
"It's okay," Sora said. "Really."
"Yeah, forget about it," Karen said.
"My name is Ridley, and you already know my Golurk. You?" Ridley asked.
"I'm Sora, and this is my girlfriend Kairi, along with my sister Karen, and my cousin Ventus," Sora introduced.
"This little Eevee is Angel," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"This Pikachu is Sparky," Ventus said.
"Pika," Sparky said.
"And this is Blossom," Karen said.
"Chu," Blossom said.
"I'm Riku, and this is Naminé, my girlfriend," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Azu, Azu," Azurill said.
"I'm Terra, and this is my girlfriend Aqua, and my partner Thor," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"This is Eclair," Aqua said.
"Pika, Pika," Eclair said.
"My name's Cilan."
"And I'm Iris, and this is Axew," Iris finished.
"Axew," Axew said.
"And I'm N," N said.
"A pleasure to meet you," Ridley said.
"Since we got the introductions out of the way, why did you call me a villain earlier?" Sora asked.
"Did something bad happen?" Kairi asked.
"Yes, unfortunately," Ridley answered. "Deep in a forest in Unova, Meloetta and I lived in hiding. We were living happily together, until one day while I wasn't looking, we were discovered. And Meloetta was captured by a villain. He had a Mandibuzz with him. Golurk and I tried to get Meloetta back, but his Mandibuzz attacked to keep us from saving it. Ever since then, we've been searching for Meloetta. We eventually found the villain responsible, and he told me that someone hired him to take Meloetta. He also told me Meloetta escaped from him."
"You're saying that it was a Pokémon Hunter who did that," Riku said.
"They really are the worse," Ventus said.
"But judging how Meloetta is well, it has been safe in your care. I am incredibly grateful to you," Ridley said.
"I seriously had no idea," Sora said.
"Is Meloetta your Pokémon?" Karen asked.
"No. Meloetta belongs to no one. As a mythical Pokémon in Unova, everyone already knows about the stories of Meloetta. In fact, we have been known as the Protectors since ancient times," Ridley said.
"Protectors? You mean you protect Meloetta?" Karen asked.
"Right. The Protectors has the power to detect when Meloetta is nearby. And that's how I was able to find all of you. But we can't relax, because whoever hired that hunter will come for Meloetta," Ridley said. Meloetta was admiring the flowers when it spotted the a bunch of Spearow. Meloetta gasped when the Spearow broke through the window.
"Spearow?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Someone knows Meloetta is here," Cilan said.
"Eevee! Swift!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Swift at the tiny bird Pokémon.
"Meloetta, let's go! We can't stay here?" Ridley said.
"Where will you go? The bad guys knows where you live!" Ventus said.
"My friends has already found another place for us," Ridley said. Just when Ridley stepped out, a fog of black smoke surrounds the area.
"Get Meloetta out of here, and fast!" Sora said.
"Right," Ridley said, climbing up to Golurk. A Golem rolled into Golurk's back, making him and Meloetta fall off.
"Meloetta!" Sora exclaimed, running up to Meloetta. Golem unrolls itself.
"A Golem!" Ventus said. A Hyper Beam is being fired at the group.
"Flash Cannon!" Ridley ordered. Golurk fired Flash Cannon, blocking the Hyper Beam. It came from a Rhydon.
"A Rhydon, too!" Naminé said.
Two figures were approaching the group through the smoke.
"Alright, who are you guys?" Ridley asked. It was revealed that it was Team Shadow behind it.
"Team Shadow!" Sora exclaimed.
"You know them?" Ridley asked.
"Yeah. They said they want to cover the world in eternal darkness!" Ventus said.
"We've dealt with them several times!" Cilan said.
"Rhydon! Use Megahorn!" The first Team Shadow peon ordered. Rhydon charged at the group with Megahorn.
"Golurk! Use High Horsepower!" Ridley ordered. Golurk charged at Rhydon. The two of them held on.
"Golem! Use Rock Blast!" The second Team Shadow peon ordered. Golem fired Rock Blast at Golurk. Golurk used Rhydon as a shield.
"Sora, get Meloetta to safety!" Ridley said.
"Gotcha!" Sora said. With that said, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Azurill, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta took off while Ridley dealt with Team Shadow.
"Rhydon! Use Drill Run!" The first Team Shadow peon ordered. Rhydon charged right at Golurk.
"Heavy Slam!" Ridley ordered. Golurk slammed into Rhydon, causing some heavy damage.
"Oh yeah? Golem! Steamroller!" The second Team Shadow peon ordered. Golem came at Golurk with Steamroller.
"High Horsepower!" Ridley ordered. Golurk rammed into Golem with High Horsepower. Jervis gets on the phone to call Cynthia.
"Mistress Cynthia, we have an emergency!" Jervis said.
Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow chased after Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Meloetta.
"Don't lose them!" Tirek said.
"Sora, where are we going?" Iris asked.
"Anywhere but here!" Sora said.
"Meloetta, you should make yourself invisible!" Riku said. Meloetta makes itself invisible. Just then, bluish-white fireballs surrounds them.
"Will-O-Wisp!" Cilan exclaimed.
"Thought you could get away, did you?" A voice asked. It belonged to a muscular Team Shadow peon. A Bannette accompanies him.
"A Banette!" Aqua said.
"Looks like it's my lucky day. Not only Meloetta, but we have Sora Ketchum and his nosey friends. End of the line, kiddies!" The Team Shadow peon said.
"What do you want with Meloetta?" Iris asked.
"Telling you will just be a waste of time. And it's thanks to you, Meloetta got to sing that song!" The Team Shadow peon said. "But, you're just a happy bonus!"
"You're not getting away with this! Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball at Banette. "Sora, go! I got this guy!"
"Okay!" Sora said. "Come on, Meloetta!"
"Sora, I'm coming with you!" Kairi said.
"Me too!" Karen said.
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, and Meloetta took off as the rest stayed behind to deal with the Team Shadow peon. While they were running, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom stops and their ears twitch.
"Blossom, what's wrong?" Karen asked.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
Just then, the Kyurem clones waltzed on out.
"Kyurem?" Sora asked.
"Where did they come from?" Kairi asked.
"From me," a voice spoke. It turns out to be Ein, wearing a pair of goggles, and hovering on a hovering platform. "These Kyurem belong to me. White Kyurem! Use Ice Burn!" White Kyurem's body glows orange and creates a circular reddish-purple aura around itself. It then releases multiple reddish-purple beams of energy at Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom.
"Dodge it!" Sora, Kairi, and Karen called out. Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom dodges the attack. Tirek takes the attack and he absorbed it into his body. His horns grew a little, and he has grown muscular.
"Incredible," Tirek said, flexing his muscles.
"Black Kyurem! Use Freeze Shock!" Ein ordered. Black Kyurem puts its claws together, and a light bluish-white ball of energy surrounded by electricity is formed and becomes larger. Black Kyurem then separates its claws, and the ball is fired atPikachu, Angel, and Blossom. They all dodge the attack with their speed. Tirek has taken the attack and he absorbs it into his body just like before. His horns grew bigger.
"Yes! The power!" Tirek said.
"Iron Tail!" Sora and Kairi ordered. Pikachu and Angel each lands an Iron Tail onto Black Kyurem.
"Blossom! Use Double Kick!" Karen ordered. Blossom gave a couple of kicks to White Kyurem.
"Use Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt!" Ein ordered. White Kyurem fires a large sphere of flames with two rings surrounding it from its mouth at Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom, the attack resulted in an explosion when it hit. Black Kyurem's tail glows light blue with electricity. Zekrom's body then becomes surrounded in a sphere of violet electricity, which it then slams into Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom.
"Pikachu!" Sora exclaimed.
"Angel!" Kairi added.
"Blossom!" Karen gasped.
Ein pushed a button, trapping Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom in a cube.
"Meloetta, do what I say or your friends will be very sorry!" Ein said.
"Meloetta, don't do it! Get out of here and save yourself!" Sora said. Ein pushed the button, making the cube smaller, crushing the trio and their Pokémon inside. Meloetta was horrified.
"This is your last chance, Meloetta! Come with me, or I crush them along their Pikachu, and Eevee!" Ein said. Meloetta looked at Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom inside.
"Meloetta, forget about us. Just go," Sora said. Meloetta couldn't do it, so it accepted the terms.
"You made a wise decision, Meloetta," Ein said, calling the Kyurem clones inside of Ultra Balls. Ein traps Meloetta in a cube as well as a Team Shadow helicopter comes in. Ein along with his captive and hostages heads up to the helicopter. Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Eevee Meowth, Azurill, Axew, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were stunned to seeing the capture of Meloetta successful, and taking Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom with them.
"Sora, Kairi!" Riku exclaimed.
"It looks like we have what we came for!" The Team Shadow peon said, laughing. "Until next time!" He took off running.
"You bastard! Come back here!" Riku yelled. The rest of the group chased after him. They saw he was gone, much to Riku's dismay. "DAMMIT!" Riku's yell is echoed throughout the forest, startling the Pidove in the trees. Ridley finally caught up with the group.
"Ridley!" Ventus said.
"Where's Meloetta?" Ridley asked.
"Team Shadow got Meloetta. And they also got Sora, Kairi, and Karen," Naminé said.
"Along with Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom," Meowth said.
"No," Ridley said.
Over to Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow returned to Grogar to report their findings.
"You would dare to return to me empty-hoofed?" Grogar asked, enraged. "Perhaps I should just return you to your petrified prison and have put back in Equestria."
"We have a good reason for it," Cozy Glow said.
"We learned that the Reveal Glass can only be powered by the song of Meloetta," Tirek said.
"So, we thought we would allow them to use it, and swoop in and take it for you," Chrysalis said. Grogar thought for a moment and he sighed.
"I suppose we could use this knowledge to our advantage. I shall grant you a second chance to try again, but this time, I'm going to accompany you to make sure that you do it right," Grogar said. "A single mistake is an element we cannot afford."
Over to a Team Shadow facility, a submarine dives underwater as Ein has the Reveal Glass on his lap. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, and Meloetta are still encased in cubes.
"What are they going to do to us?" Karen asked.
"I don't know, but I don't think I wanna find out," Sora said. He looked at Meloetta. "Don't worry, Meloetta. We'll get out of this. Somehow." That made Meloetta feel better.
The submarine dove even deeper and lit their way through the darkest depths of the ocean until they found what they were looking for.
"Here it is. The Abyssal Ruins. According to legend, the temple sank into the ocean. No one was able to pinpoint its exact location. Until now," Ein said. The submarine enters the underwater entrance.
"Preparing to resurface," one of the Team Shadow peons said.
The submarine resurfaced from the sea water as everyone inside exits the submarine.
"What is this?" Sora asked.
"Does any of this look familiar to you, Meloetta? It should since you've been here before," Ein said.
"What are you going to do?" Sora asked.
"What you are going to witness is history in the making," Ein said. Ein presses a couple buttons and moves the cube containing Meloetta inside. "Don't even think about resisting. If you do, then Sora, the girls, and the Pokémon will pay the ultimate price."
"Meloetta," Kairi said.
"Normally, it would be done with you singing, but fortunately, there is no need for that. Activate the radio," Ein ordered.
"Sir!" The Team Shadow peons said. They activated the recording of Meloetta singing its song.
"Yes," Ein said, grinning evilly.
Outside, Ridley turned to the ocean.
"What's wrong?" Aqua asked.
"I hear Meloetta," Ridley said.
Back in the ruins, Ein walks up the formed stairs with the Reveal Glass.
"By living with Sora Ketchum and his friends, your heart once again knew peace, which allowed your song to return here. If we had taken you out of fear or anger, it would have failed. Now that the Reveal Glass has its full power, the Forces of Nature shall be under our control," Ein said. A pedestal raises up and Ein places the Reveal Glass on it.
