Episode 497: The First Unova Grand Festival Part 1
A couple of days has passed since the Genesect rampage has taken place. Genesect looked up in the night sky with tears, streaming from its eyes. Sora, Pikachu, Serperior, Emboar, Samurott, and Stunfisk sat beside Genesect.
"I know it was hard to say goodbye to your family, Genesect, but I'm sure it was hard for them to say goodbye to you," Sora said. Genesect looked right at its trainer. "You'll be happy to know they'll be a whole lot safer from now on. Trust me." Genesect smiled again. Sora called back all of his Pokémon and headed inside for the night.
Back in Kanto, the Nemesis was finally able to be airborne again.
"Lord Megatron, the ship has been fully repaired, and we are ready to depart on your orders," Starscream said.
"Prepare for takeoff," Megatron said. The Nemesis slowly raises off the ground, much to the surprise of the local Pokémon. The Nemesis began to fly through the sky. "Activate the cloaking device." The Decepticons complies with their lord as the cloaking device has been activated.
Over to the Ark, just when Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Perceptor finished setting up the ground bridge, an alarm starts going off. Perceptor went to check it as Gears came in.
"What is that?" Gears asked.
"I don't know yet," Perceptor said, activating the Ark's computer systems. He sees a Decepticon signal moving, and then vanishes off the map. "By the code of Primus! The Nemesis."
"The Decepticon ship?" Gears asked.
"Optimus must know about this!" Perceptor said. Perceptor activates his coms. "Optimus! We have an emergency!"
In Cerulean City, Optimus's squad, consisting of Jazz, Ironhide, Prowl, Hound, Brawn, Hot Rod, Hoist, Inferno, and Cliffjumper. They were all in vehicle mode when the transmission was received.
"Report," Optimus said.
"We have just detected a Decepticon signal, but it had just vanished! It's impossible to track them now," Perceptor said.
"Do you have a lock on their last known coordinates?" Optimus asked.
"Indeed, Optimus," Perceptor answered.
"And how is the progress of the ground bridge?" Optimus asked.
"Fully operational. This presents us a good opportunity to test it out. I'll have activate it now and send Bumblebee and several others over," Perceptor said.
"Proceed with care. It's possible it might be a trick to lure us out," Optimus said. "And I state that Jetfire is in command of the mission.
"Of course. I shall contact you as soon as our investigations are completed," Perceptor said. He breaks contact with Optimus and called on every availing Autobot. "All available Autobots gather in the ground bridge chamber immediately."
Just then, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Huffer, Bluestreak, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Gears, Hauler, Windcharger, Grapple, Tracks, Powerglide, Red Alert, Smokescreen, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Warpath, Cosmos, Blaster, Arcee, Blurr, Skids, Drift, Bulkhead, and Jetfire gathered in the ground bridge chamber with Ratchet and Wheeljack waiting for them.
"What's the big deal?" Windcharger asked.
"We have detected a Decepticon signal just a few short moments ago," Perceptor said. The Autobots were stunned as they were talking among themselves.
"A Decepticon signal? Are you pulling my spark plug?" Bulkhead asked.
"As much as I wish it was a joke, Bulkhead, but I assure you, it is no joke," Perceptor said.
"It's the Nemesis," Wheeljack said.
"So, the Cons did survive the crash after all," Smokescreen said.
"If we learned anything since we woke up from our stasis shut down, it's never assume the Decepticons are gone forever," Bumblebee said.
"Agreed. If we leave them unchecked, they will certainly wreak havoc on the local lifeforms. That is a tragedy we cannot allow," Drift said.
"That'll be too good to be true for any of us," Arcee said.
"The question that is everyone's minds is does Optimus know about this yet?" Jetfire asked.
"I made contact with him. The signal vanished before we could get a proper lock onto it," Perceptor said.
"Do you have a lock on their last known whereabouts?" Blaster asked. Perceptor displays the map for the Autobots to see. He pinpoints the volcanic region.
"I have pinpointed the coordinates within this sector. Optimus ordered us to look into the phenomenon. Also, he told us to take absolute care in doing so, because Optimus suspects it to be a trap," Perceptor said, activating the ground bridge. "I'll remain here to monitor your activities, and to bring you back when needed."
"With Prime gone, who's going to be in charge?" Seaspray asked.
"Optimus has stated that Jetfire leads the mission," Perceptor said. "Optimus felt that he's the most likely candidate."
"I accept," Jetfire said. "Activate the ground bridge, Perceptor." Perceptor complied with Jetfire as all of the Autobots except for Perceptor went through the ground bridge. The Autobots all looked around at the volcanic region.
"At least the place we crashed in is a lot safer," Powerglide said.
"Stay focused, Powerglide," Jetfire said. "Bumblebee, you scout ahead and see if you can track any Decepticon signs. Smokescreen, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Tracks, Windcharger, Arcee, go with him. Drift, Powerglide, you're both with me. The rest of you are with Ratchet and Wheeljack. Let's go." Bumblebee, Arcee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Tracks, Seaspray, Tracks, and Windcharger went on ahead. Jetfire, Drift, and Powerglide transformed into their vehicle mode. Drift has transformed into his helicopter form and flew with Jetfire and Powerglide. The rest of the Autobots has transformed into their vehicle mode and drove off. The Autobots searched for any signs of Decepticons. Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Tracks, Beachcomber, Seaspray, and Arcee found a strange blue puddle around the area.
"Energon," Seaspray said.
"Cons has definitely been here alright," Bumblebee said.
"It would seem not too long ago," Windcharger said. Tracks made contact with Perceptor.
"Tracks here. We found a puddle of Energon. You were right, they have been here," Tracks said.
"I'll make contact with Optimus at once," Perceptor said.
Perceptor breaks contact with Tracks as Jetfire, Drift, and Powerglide lower themselves down and transformed back into their robot forms.
"Status report," Jetfire said.
"We found a puddle of Energon, which confirms the Decepticon ship, Nemesis has been here until just recently," Bumblebee reported.
"I just made contact back at base, so Optimus should already know by now," Tracks said as Seaspray scooped up most of the puddle of Energon into a tube.
"We just checked with Ratchet and the rest, so there's nothing we can do now," Powerglide said.
"Agreed," Jetfire said. He makes contact with the Ark. "Perceptor, open a ground bridge at each of our locations."
"Affirmative," Perceptor complied as he activates the ground bridge. Jetfire, Powerglide, Drift, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Tracks, and Arcee entered through the ground bridge to find Optimus, Jazz, Ironhide, Brawn, Prowl, Cliffjumper, Hoist, Hound, Inferno, Hot Rod, and Perceptor waiting for them to return. Before long, the rest of the Autobots returned as well.
"Optimus, we found a clue that has confirmed the Nemesis was once our last location," Jetfire reported.
"My worst fear has been realized," Optimus said. "The Decepticons still live."
"Now that we know the Decepticons are still kicking, they'll be knocking right on our door and open fire on us," Skids said.
"No they won't, because I have taken the precaution in utilizing a cloaking device of our own. The Decepticons won't be able to track our base," Perceptor said.
"That's our Perceptor. Always thinking ahead of everyone else," Hound said.
"Now, we gotta do keep our optics out for any Cons coming our way," Brawn said.
"Agreed. The Decepticons will undoubtedly make attempts to draw us out; but in doing so, we must avoid drawing attention to the inhabitants of this world," Optimus said.
"In the meantime, we'll have to go on patrol around the planet to make sure," Jazz suggested. "If it's okay with you, Prime, I would like to take the first patrol out. Optimus nodded.
"Of course," Optimus said.
"Okay! Prowl, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Ironhide, Cliffjumper, Bulkhead, Blurr, Bumblebee, Red Alert, Smokescreen, Tracks, Skids, Trailbreaker, Huffer, you're with me!" Jazz said. The chosen Autobots transformed into their vehicle mode along with Jazz. "Roll out!" Jazz, Prowl, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Ironhide, Cliffjumper, Bulkhead, Blurr, Bumblebee, Smokescreen, Tracks, Skids, Trailbreaker, Huffer, and Red Alert drove off to go on patrol.
On the very next morning after breakfast, Kairi was practicing for the Unova Grand Festival.
"Victini! Use V-Create!" Kairi ordered. Victini forms V-Create and sends it upwards. "Angel! Swift!" Angel fires Swift into the flaming V, making the stars turn red, and sparkly. "Swoobat! Use Psychic!" Swoobat moves the V around, making it sparkle with each movement. Sora, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight and the Young Six were awestruck by what they were seeing.
"Bravo, Kairi," Aqua said.
"Pika!" Eclair said.
"You're going to be a shoe-in for the Grand Festival, Kairi," Naminé said.
"Azurill!" Azurill said.
"The Unova region is lucky to have its own Grand Festival! Wouldn't you agree?" Terra asked.
"Indeed, Terra," Cilan agreed. "History is in the making, and I get to witness it with my own eyes! I can't seem to contain my excitement for the historical event!" Cilan's eyes lit up with stars.
"Take your excitement down a notch, or you'll overcook it!" Meowth said.
"And I thought Silverstream got easily excited," Smolder whispered to Gallus.
"Same for Professor Pinkie," Gallus whispered back.
"I'm glad I have your support, everyone. I'm still a little nervous about the Grand Festival though," Kairi said.
"You nervous? Unlikely!" Rainbow Dash said.
"You got nothing to be worried about, Kairi," Sora said. "Just remember how far you came since your first Grand Festival. May, Dawn, and all the others gave it their all, and you didn't give up even once." This made Kairi smile.
"You're right, Sora. I'm just going to my best," Kairi said.
"So, how do these competitions work?" Sandbar asked.
"To start, the Unova Grand Festival starts up with the appeals around, which will be triple performances. Based on the decision of the judges, they'll move on in the second round, in which will be the Contest battles, so they will be triple battles," Cilan explained.
"What are triple battles?" Ocellus asked.
"Triple battles are battles that uses three Pokémon at the same time," Cilan said. "So, the battles will be five minutes long, and the trainer who cuts down as much as the opponent's points before the timer runs out wins the battle, and so on until the final battle, and they win the title of Top Coordinator."
"Also, during the battles, the goal is to show off a Pokémon's moves, giving it a stunning performance," Aqua added.
"Loads of fun!" Pinkie Pie said, hopping and down.
Several days came and went as Kairi practiced her moves for the Grand Festival. It was a couple of days left before the competition officially starts. Cynthia was now preparing to return to the Sinnoh region.
"I'm sorry you have to see me leave for the Sinnoh region, everyone. My duties as Champion are very important," Cynthia said.
"Don't worry about it, Cynthia. I'm sure the Sinnoh Elite Four will expecting a great battle from you," Sora said. Cynthia smiled.
"Sora, I wish you and Kairi good luck, both in the Unova Pokémon League and in the first Unova Grand Festival," Cynthia said. "And maybe someday, we can have a rematch if you want."
"I plan to train hard and because I wanna be ready for anything you throw at me on our next battle," Sora said.
"I don't doubt it," Cynthia said, shaking Sora's hand. "Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Eevee, Meowth, Angel, Azurill, it was good to see you again. Karen, Cilan, Iris, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Eclair, Thor, and friends from Equestria, it was wonderful to meet you," Cynthia said.
"Right back at you," Karen said.
"There is a lodge in which you will be staying in," Jervis said.
"Sounds great," Fluttershy said.
"I hope it has a library, because I would like to see some other books like the ones in Cynthia's library," Twilight said.
"Oh, and give Paul my regards when you see him," Cynthia said.
"I will," Sora said.
With that said, Cynthia and Jervis took off for the airport to the Sinnoh region. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight and the Young Six heads for the lodge and Kairi registers for the Grand Festival by showing the vendor the Contest Ribbons she won during her travels in Unova. A familiar face came up to the group with a smile.
"Kairi, long time no see," Hector said. Kairi turned to see him.
"Hi, Hector," Kairi greeted.
"Vee," Angel added.
"Who is that?" Starlight asked.
"That's Hector. He's a Pokémon Coordinator like Kairi is. We met him when we were in Striaton City a while back," Sora said.
"He's one of the trainers you mentioned before, right?" Applejack asked.
"He is," Ventus said.
"I was watching you on TV, Kairi. Saw you won your fifth Ribbon in Humilau City," Hector said. "It was epic."
"Thank you, Hector. That's very nice of you," Kairi said. Pinkie Pie went up to Hector, making him feel nervous.
"Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie Pie said. "I just wanna say hi to my new friend! So, hi, new friend!"
"A talking pink pony?" Hector asked.
"She's a friend of ours," Kairi said. Hector looked at the otherworldly creatures.
"Are they your friends, too?" Hector asked.
"Yeah they are," Sora said.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Twilight Sparkle," Twilight introduced herself.
"I'm Applejack."
"I'm Fluttershy."
"Rarity."
"The name's Rainbow Dash, the most awesomeness flyer there is!"
"I'm Starlight Glimmer."
"I'm Spike."
"Sandbar."
"Gallus."
"Smolder."
"Ocellus."
"Yona."
"And I'm Silverstream."
Hector was at a loss for words when he heard them all talking.
"Wow! More talking ponies, but also a talking yak; also real dragons, a griffin, and hippogriff," Hector said.
"I'm going to guess dragons, griffins, and hippogriffs aren't too common here," Sandbar said.
"Neither are unicorns or pegasi since they're viewed as mythical creatures," Meowth said. "Yaks are nowhere near mythical."
"They're not from around here, aren't they?" Hector asked.
"You got that right, Hector," Riku said.
"Anyway, good luck in the Grand Festival," Kairi said.
"You too," Hector said.
Kairi and Hector shook hands as Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight and the Young Six all went to the room they're staying in.
A little while after getting settled in, the group stepped out to check out the stage for the Grand Festival taking place.
"Is this the place that'll be where the performances are going to be held?" Ocellus asked.
"It sure is," Cilan said. "I'm getting the chills just picturing what sort of recipes the Coordinators will be dishing out."
"I as well, Cilan. The dress I designed for Kairi will sure make her the bell of the ball," Rarity said.
"Rarity, you realize this isn't a fashion show, right?" Iris asked.
"Axew," Axew said.
"Hmph," Rarity huffed.
"Excuse me," a boy's voice said in a German accent. The group turned to a chubby boy wearing lederhosen. "Would you be Kairi, ja?"
"Ja, I mean, yes. And who are you?" Kairi asked.
"Meine name ist Klaus. I vanted to meet you for quite some time," Klaus said. "I have been a fan of yours since ze Hoenn Grand Festival. It was there that I vanted to be a Pokémon Coordinator like you."
"I'm flattered, Klaus. Are you going to compete in the Grand Festival, too?" Kairi asked.
"Ja. I have heard you were competing here, so I vanted to shake your hand," Klaus said, shaking Kairi's hand.
"Good luck in the Grand Festival," Kairi said.
"Danke schön," Klaus said as he took his leave.
After checking out the stage, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight and the Young Six checked out the grounds as they spotted Hilda and Rosa, and they spotted the group.
"Look who's here!" Rosa said.
"It's always good to see you!" Hilda added.
"You too," Kairi said. "I knew you would make it in."
"Well, well, well, look what we have here," a familiar voice spoke. They turned to see Beatrice approaching the group.
"Beatrice," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, and Meowth all deadpanned.
"Pika," Pikachu, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair said.
"Vee," Eevee and Angel added.
"Xew," Axew said.
"Rill," Azurill said.
"I see you came here to lose the Grand Festival just like your boyfriend lost the Junior Cup," Beatrice gloated.
"You saw that?" Sora asked.
"I did. And I knew all of you would be here, but my business is just with her," Beatrice said, pointing at Kairi.
"Save it for the competition, Beatrice," Hilda said.
"I'm in the zone. You wannabe Coordinators can practice all you want, but you'll never be as good as me," Beatrice said.
"If you're so confident, then how come you lost to Kairi?" Rosa asked.
"A minor setback, but I will emerge victorious this time, and I plan on winning," Beatrice said, doing a snobbish laugh.
"Yona no like her," Yona said.
"Yeah, she didn't seem very nice," Silverstream said.
"I'm guessing that's Beatrice," Starlight said.
"No mistaking," Ventus said.
"At least she didn't go gaga for Sora just like Ursula did," Rainbow Dash said.
"Don't remind me," Sora said as he cringed at the thought of being with Ursula.
Meanwhile in the Sinnoh region, Ursula is in the Pokémon Center and she gave a light sneeze.
"Why do I have a feeling someone is talking about me?" Ursula asked. She shrugged and she opened a magazine with Sora's picture during the Sinnoh Pokémon League. "Sora, I still love you. I don't even care if you're somewhere else." She held the magazine lovingly.
In the room the group is staying in, Kairi is now wearing a white gown with golden trims with baby blue sapphires at the bottom.
"Rarity, this dress is beautiful," Kairi said. "I love it."
"After everything you told about the Sinnoh and Unova Pokémon Contests, I thought I should make you a dress that suits you greatly. Although, it's just the first time I have ever made one that is suited for human beings," Rarity said.
"All the same, I can see why you're the Element of Generosity," Kairi said.
"Well, I must confess, I made it because I wanted to see how Sora would react on how he would see you wearing it," Rarity said.
"I am wondering how Sora would react," Kairi said. Rarity was getting all giddy to find out for herself. She opened the door and spots Sora brushing Pikachu's fur. Ventus, Karen, Pinkie, and Silverstream were playing a game of Hungry, Hungry Hippowdon. It ended up with Ventus winning it.
"Ha! I win again!" Ventus said.
"You're so good!" Silverstream said.
"I always beat my parents along with my dad's staff members with this game," Ventus said.
"Sora, I think I could use some help with this thing, and it requires your full attention," Rarity said. Sora raised a brow as he looked at the white unicorn.
"Shouldn't you ask Applejack or maybe Fluttershy?" Sora asked.
"I don't wanna burden them with it, so you don't mind lending a hoof, er, I mean, hand, don't you, Sora?" Rarity batted her eyes. Sora sighed a little.
"Okay," Sora said as he puts the brush down. "To be continued, buddy."
"Chu," Pikachu said.
Sora stood up as he walked in the room.
"Okay, Rarity, what's so important that I had to help with..." Sora paused when he eyed Kairi in the dress Rarity prepared for her. "Kairi..."
"What do think, Sora?" Kairi asked her boyfriend.
"You look absolutely beautiful," Sora said as he slowly walked up to her. Kairi blushed at the compliment.
"Thank you, Sora. I'm glad you love it," Kairi said. Sora smiled as he looked right into her eyes. She looked back at him. Rarity was getting teary eyed and sniffled at the romantic atmosphere. The couple looked right at her. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your moment, it's just because you're such a good couple." Sora and Kairi both blushed.
Over to the Nemesis, Shock Wave stood before Megatron.
"Lord Megatron, I personally request that I am to return to Cybertron to continue my research in weapons development to aide in the Decepticon cause," Shock Wave said.
"Your request is granted, Shock Wave," Megatron said. "If anyone can develop the finest weapons, you can."
"If you are need of assistance, you needn't to hesitate, my liege," Shock Wave said. Megatron turned to Soundwave.
"Soundwave, activate the space bridge," Megatron ordered.
"As you command, Lord Megatron," Soundwave said, activating the space bridge. Shock Wave enters the space bridge and arrives onto Cybertron. The entire planet is in ruins. Shock Wave transformed into a Cybertronian tank and drove off to one of his many laboratories.
Back in Unova, it was the day of the very first Grand Festival in the Unova region. The Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, and the Young Six sitting along Sora, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Meowth, Axew, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair as it was about to begin. Sitting beside the group, a young woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes sat down next to. She wore a blue dress with three pink ribbons on the torso.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to see many of you have shown up on this historical event! For the first time in the history of the Unova region, are proud to present the Unova Grand Festival!" Diane announced as the crowd cheered on. Pinkie was cheering the loudest. The young woman couldn't help but giggle at the pink earth pony's antics.
"Yay!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
"Before we begin, let me say I never felt so privileged than I already do now to be able to host this event for all of the Unova region to see! We will soon begin with the appeals round! We will start up with 300 Coordinators! Each Coordinator will give their best performances! And when it meets the liking of our judges, then they will be among the 32 remaining Coordinators in the second our Contest battles! All of the performances will be done with the use of three Pokémon from each Coordinator! And the battles will be triple battles! But we will get to that after the appealing round! Before we begin, we shall begin with our panel of judges! First we have the head of the Contest Committee, Mr. Nathaniel Basil!"
"I am deeply honored to be here on this memorable event!" Mr. Basil said.
"Our own Miss Unova, we have Miss Juliana Minerva!" Diane announced.
"It's a lovely day for this unforgettable day!" Miss Juliana said.
"A member of the Unova Elite Four, she is known for her mastery of Psychic Type Pokémon and as the Elegant White Rose Fairy, Caitlin!" Diane announced.
"I am pleased to be here on this wonderful day!" Caitlin said.
"And last, but not least, there's a man who is no need of an introduction, the provider of the Unova Pokémon Contests, and president of Pegasus Incorporated, Mr. Maximillion Pegasus!" Diane announced as a handsome and fairly effeminate young man with fair skin and collarbone length white hair stood up. He wore double breasted red suits with white piping and buttons, a white frilled shirt, navy blue western cravat and white shoes.
"Contest fans, it's a joy to see you all come to bare witness to this event. I hope you have a good time watching, as I will have a good time judging!" Pegasus said.
"And let's forget about me, Diane!" Diane announced.
"Pegasus?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I heard of him. He's the founding president of a corporation known as Pegasus Incorporated, which is a company that deals with Pokémon products, such as food, medicines, and other useful things," Cilan said. "Word is he's also a talented artist."
"Let the first round of the Unova Grand Festival begin with our first Coordinator, Klaus!" Diane announced as Klaus wore his lederhosen and held his three Pokéballs and threw them. His Pokéballs are in Ball Capules with Party Seals, one being red, blue, and yellow.
"Go! Swalot, Munchlax, und Snorlax!" Klaus called out. Swalot, Munchlax, and Snorlax all came out with red, blue, and yellow confetti. Klaus took out some poffins, and PokéBlock "Get ready, meine Freunde! Juggling!" Swalot, Munchlax, and Snorlax juggles the poffins in the air much to everyone's amusement.
"Klaus's Pokémon are giving us a real juggling act! What could he be planning?" Diane asked.
"Munchlax! Jump up!" Klaus ordered. Munchlax jumped and swallowed the poffins it was tossing up. "Swalot! You too!" Swalot stretched its body and swallowed the PokéBlock and poffins. "Snorlax! Your turn!" Snorlax opened its mouth and swallowed the remains of the food. "Stockpile!" Swalot, Munchlax, and Snorlax takes a big gulp and their bodies grew a tad bigger. "Swallow!" All of the Pokémon all swallowed and did a stance.
"Let's see what the judges has to say!" Diane announced.
"I must say, it was an interesting start," Mr. Basil said.
"It looked really adorable," Miss Juliana said.
"They obviously had loads of practice to perfect this performance. I'm sure it has paid off," Caitlin said.
"Klaus should be proud of himself of those skills! Wonderfully accomplished!" Pegasus said.
The Contest went on as other Coordinators of the Pokémon has displayed their moves greatly. Beatrice performed with her Minncino, Lilligant, and Simisear as Rosa performed with her Whimsicott, Wigglytuff, and Wailmer as Hilda performed with Simipour, Serperior, and female Unfezant. Atticus performed with Liepard, Noivern, and Kommo-o. Hector performed with his Gurdurr, Darumaka, and Slaking gave a performance of their own.
"Can't believe they're putting Kairi out last," Rainbow Dash said.
"They saved the best for last," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"And now we are down to number three hundred! Last and certainly not least, we have Kairi!" Diane announced as Kairi entered the stage in her new Contest dress. Kairi took out her three Pokéballs and threw them. Her Pokéballs were placed in Ball Capsules with a pink Heart Seal, an orange Fire Seal, a white Line Seal.
"Go! Angel, Swoobat, and Victini!" Kairi called out. The crowd were at awe at the sight of Victini. Not only the crowd, but the judges as well. "Victini! Begin with V-Create!" Victini's ears ignite into flames. The flames then disappear, leaving a V-shaped yellow flame around its head and a red aura around Victini's body."Angel! Use Swift!" Angel fired Swift into the flaming V, making the stars surrounds the V, turning red in the process. "Swoobat! Psychic!" Swoobat moves the flaming letter around, and the stars follows the flaming V.
"Outstanding! The use of Victini's V-Create along with Eevee's Swift, and Psychic from Swoobat us truly fantastic!" Diane announced. Victini then rushes towards its opponent and headbutts it, causing a sparkling explosion. Victini takes a bow as the crowd all applauds to her performance. "Fantastic! Not just using a mythical Pokémon, but the use of Swift and Psychic!"
"Wonderful job. The use of V-Create, Swift, and Psychic was very creative," Mr. Basil said.
"Spectacular!" Miss Juliana said.
"Devine!" Caitlin said.
"Well done!" Pagasus stated. "I have never seen anything like this in my life."
"And that concludes the first round of the Unova Grand Festival! We shall have ourselves a break until the judges have reached a decision!" Diane announced.
"Atta girl, Kairi," Sora said.
Back stage, Hilda and Rosa were awestruck by what she did.
"That was amazing, Kairi. I never seen anything like it before," Hilda said.
"You truly have a gift, Kairi," Rosa said.
"Thank you, girls. I amazed even myself," Kairi said.
"Hmph, it was just luck, and nothing else," Beatrice said in her thoughts.
"The results are in!" Diane announced. "Now, we will see the 32 Coordinators who has made it to the second round of the Grand Festival. Watch the monitor!" Mugshots of all the Coordinators are entered in. Kairi, Hilda, Rosa, Beatrice, Hector, Klaus, and Atticus are among the 32 Coordinators. And here are lucky thirty-two who will be moving on! The second round shall begin tomorrow morning, so I suggest you get some rest until then!"
"I knew Kairi was going to make it in," Starlight said.
"Yeah, because she's awesome!" Rainbow Dash said.
"The real challenge starts tomorrow, and this is something Kairi can pull off," Sora said.
"Just like she did in the Hoenn and Sinnoh Grand Festivals," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"From I heard, I don't doubt it," Karen said.
"Chu!" Blossom said.
Now that the first round of the Grand Festival has reached its conclusion, only the second round remains. Will Kairi make it three in a row? Just wait and see what happens next.
