Episode 499: The First Unova Grand Festival Part 3
After taking part of the the second set of battles during the Grand Festival, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight and the Young Six all returned to their room and rested up.
On the next morning, Kairi could smell something cooking. She wondered if it was Cilan cooking up breakfast, but she got her answer when she saw Cilan still asleep. She sat up to see Sora gone, which she found strange. She stepped into the kitchen to see Sora cooking some breakfast. He has set two plates for each one of them. Sora has prepared some eggs and pancakes. Sora saw his girlfriend walking in and he smiled at her.
"Good morning, sunshine. Have a nice sleep?" Sora asked.
"Sora, what is this?" Kairi asked.
"What do you think it is? It's breakfast for two; as in me and you," Sora said.
"You mean, you went through this trouble just for me?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. I wanted to surprise you with a breakfast for you for a while. I figured I'd make you something for a change," Sora said.
"These look great," Kairi said as Sora placed a stack on her plate and poured her a glass of orange juice. Sora handed her some syrup as she poured it on the pancakes. She took a bite and she found the taste delicious. "This is so good! How did you make this?"
"Cilan's been giving me cooking lessons for weeks. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty hard to get it done," Sora said.
"Now that you mentioned it, that does explain the smell of smoke in the kitchen. I didn't say anything about it because I thought it either Riku or Iris trying to use a stove," Kairi said. Sora chuckled nervously. "We should wake everyone up so they can have a taste."
"Let them sleep for now," Sora said. "I made Cilan Pinkie Promise to give me a shot at it."
"I'm surprised he was willing to agree with keeping a promise like that," Kairi said.
"When I explained it was something Pinkie does when she or Twilight, or the other ponies are asked to promise to keep a secret or something else, and breaking it would mean losing a friends trust. And that's when she popped out of nowhere and said..." Sora said.
"... Forever!" Sora and Kairi both said, laughing.
"How about we keep eating before it gets cold," Kairi said.
"Good idea," Sora said. He took a bite of the pancakes he made.
The rest of the group woke up just when the couple were cleaning up.
"Sora, Kairi, what gives? You two got up early and we don't get breakfast?" Ventus asked.
"Don't pout, Ven, I'll make some more," Sora said. Everyone except for Cilan and Pinkie were surprised to hear Sora say he was going to make some more.
"You made it and not Kairi?" Iris asked in dumbfoundment.
"Yeah, I figured I would make some breakfast for my girlfriend once in a while. And I plan to make it a regular thing," Sora said.
"And I'm looking forward to it," Kairi said. Sora proceeded in making breakfast for the rest of the group. He presented the plates of pancakes and eggs to the rest of the group.
"Enjoy," Sora said. Everyone started to eat the breakfast Sora has made much to their delight.
"This is great, Sora," Naminé said.
"Since when have you been such a cook?" Riku asked.
"Since he took lessons from Cilan," Kairi said.
"Guilty as charged," Cilan admitted. "Sora requested my teachings for Kairi, and so I couldn't shoo him away."
"I made some mistakes at first, but Cilan just said even the world's top chefs didn't get it right at first either," Sora said.
"That explain the burnt smell when we were staying at Cynthia's villa," Aqua said.
"Speaking of Cynthia, did you talk to her about it?" Terra asked.
"Cynthia said it was okay," Sora said. "Jervis had to make sure I didn't accidentally burn the place down."
"It's true what they saw, practice makes perfect," Spike said.
Back in Kanto, the Autobots are driving around in vehicle mode. An Autobot squad consisting of Mirage, Prowl, Ironhide, Brawn, Warpath, and Windcharger are driving in a remote area.
"I'm picking up an Energon reading," Windcharger said.
"No signs of Decepticons so far, guys," Prowl said. All of the Autobots all transformed back to robot mode.
"We should be ready just in case, Prowl," Ironhide said.
"I'm with Ironhide. The Cons will pop in at any moment," Brawn said.
"Then, we'll blast them when we see them," Warpath said.
Unknown to them, Buzzsaw was flying over them. Buzzsaw transferred the surveillance over to Soundwave.
"Buzzsaw has visual on six Autobots, Lord Megatron," Soundwave reported.
"Excellent, Soundwave. Your Mini-Cons never fail me; unlike some Decepticons I know," Megatron said, referring to his second-in-command. Soundwave displays the footage of Mirage, Warpath, Ironhide, Prowl, Brawn, and Windcharger. "So, the Autobots lives after all. Prepare a ground bridge and send in some of our troops to counter them."
"As you command, Lord Megatron," Soundwave said, activating the ground bridge. A handful of Vehicons entered through the ground bridge.
A ground bridge opens surprising Warpath, Brawn, Windcharger, Mirage, Ironhide, and Prowl. The Vehicons came out of the ground bridge and opened fire on the Autobots.
"Decepticons!" Brawn exclaimed.
"Open fire!" Ironhide shouted as they fired at the Decepticon soldiers. Mirage made contact with Perceptor.
"Mirage to Ark! Come in, Ark!" Mirage exclaimed.
"Ark here. Report your status," Perceptor said.
"Under attack. Decepticons has found us! Need immediate backup!" Mirage said.
"Understood! I'll contact for backup at once!" Perceptor said.
"Hurry it up!" Mirage said.
The Autobots kept firing at the Vehicons, and they kept firing at them. One of the Vehicons was struck as the Vehicons kept on firing. Brawn took out a Cybertronian grenade and tossed it, resulting in an explosion, taking out a few of them.
"Take that, Decepticon bastards!" Brawn taunted.
Back at the Ark, Perceptor makes contact with the other Autobots.
"Perceptor to all available Autobots! Decepticon attack in the following coordinates!" Perceptor said, displaying the coordinates. Powerglide is flying in his plane mode.
"Powerglide here! I'm nearby! I'll lend a servo!" Powerglide said. He found Ironhide, Prowl, Mirage, Brawn, Warpath, and Windcharger as they were being sent into a corner. Powerglide fires at the Decepticons, taking out a few more of them.
"Lord Megatron, the Autobots has called for reinforcements! It's the flying Autobot, Powerglide! Requesting backup!" The Vehicon said.
"Request granted," Megatron said. He turned to three Decepticons with cone heads. One is red, one is blue, and one is white.
"Dirge, Thrust, Ramjet, take down the Autobot known as Powerglide!" Megatron commanded.
"At once, Lord Megatron," Thrust said. Soundwave activates the ground bridge, allowing the three Decepticons to enter. They transformed into their jet mode and flew after Powerglide.
"Scrap! Seekers!" Powerglide exclaimed. "Perceptor, I got three bougies on my tailpipe! If you can, send anybot who can fly by ground bridge!" Powerglide pleaded.
"Understood!" Perceptor said. Dirge fired at Powerglide. He dodged to the left as Ramjet fired, making Powerglide dodge to the right. He flipped over and he fired at Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet. They scattered all over.
"Give it up, Powerglide! You never stood a chance against us!" Thrust said.
"That's what you said back on Cybertron, and you were wrong then!" Powerglide said as he kept on firing.
On the ground, a ground bridge opened as Cliffjumper, Gears, Hoist, Grapple, Trailbreaker, and Hot Rod came out and fired at them.
"Perfect timing," Warpath said.
"We almost had our Sparks handed to us!" Windcharger said.
"At least you saved some for us, Windy," Cliffjumper said. Hot Rode jumped over the Vehicons and fired at them, snuffing out a few of them.
"Who's next?" Hot Rod asked.
"Kid, don't get carried away!" Trailbreaker called out to Hot Rod as a Vehicon points his weapon at the young Autobot.
"If I were you, I'd listen to him," the Vehicon said. Hot Rod gave the Vehicon a punch, and then shot him in the head, making his head fly off.
Up in the sky, another ground bridge opened as Drift in helicopter mode flew in as Cosmos, and Jetfire followed. They opened fire.
"Jetfire! You traitor!" Ramjet growled as the three Decepticons transformed into their robot mode as Powerglide, Drift, Jetfire, and Cosmos did the same thing.
"You were the one of the finest Decepticons in history! You were Megatron's second-in-command, but you threw away that honor by siding with Optimus Prime!" Thrust said.
"It was after seeing the results of Megatron's madness that I had to switch sides! It was because of Megatron our home planet suffered greatly," Jetfire said.
"You Cons make a mess out of any planet you come to!" Cosmos said.
"You chose the wrong side!" Thrust said.
"You have the ability to fly, but you use that gift of flight to side with Optimus!" Dirge said.
"We shall never abuse our gift as you have, Dirge," Drift said, drawing his sword. "That is an abuse I cannot allow to go unpunished."
"How about we stop talking and just rip out their Sparks, like we should have done back on Cybertron!" Ramjet said.
"Agreed!" Dirge said.
"Die, Autobots!" Thrust said, aiming his weapon at the Autobots, same as Dirge and Ramjet. Shots are fired as a red and black VTOL flew in and hovered down to the Autobots. The VTOL jet is revealed to be a female Autobot with kabuki face paint. She has plane wings with turbines.
"Friend or foe?" Cosmos asked.
"You can relax. I'm with you," the female Autobot said. She drew out her weapons, which happens to be curved blades.
"Kill her!" Thrust shouted as they fired. The female Autobot reflected the attack back at the Seekers. She sliced off an arm off of Thrust, and a hand off of Ramjet. She slashed off a leg. Energon leaked from their wounds. They transformed into their jet mode and retreated.
"We'll remember this!" Dirge said.
"Good, I wouldn't want you to forget anyway," the female Autobot said. She turned to the other Autobots as she transformed into her jet mode and fired at the remaining Vehicons. Prowl, Ironhide, Mirage, Brawn, Windcharger, Warpath, Cliffjumper, Gears, Hoist, Grapple, Trailbreaker, Powerglide, Drift, Jetfire, Cosmos, and Hot Rod gathered around her.
"Those were very impressive skills," Drift said.
"I didn't do anything special. You're just lucky I was at the right place at the right time," the female Autobot said.
"Who are you?" Jetfire asked with hostility in his tone. "And how did you find us?"
"Jetfire, cool it. We owe her our lives," Cosmos said.
"Your friend has the right idea. If you're going to thank me, you might as well know my name. The name's Windblade. And I know who all of you are, Prowl, Ironhide, Mirage, Brawn, Windcharger, Warpath, Cliffjumper, Gears, Hoist, Grapple, Trailbreaker, Powerglide, Drift, Jetfire, Cosmos, and Hot Rod," Windblade said.
"You know about us?" Trailbreaker asked.
"How do you know?" Gears asked.
"I have a telepathic link that led me to this planet to find the Ark. I knew this planet was crawling with Cons as soon I got here. I came to your aide since you were the closest to my position. You would have been pushing up lugnuts if I didn't show up," Windblade said.
"I find that hard to believe," Hoist said.
"So do I," Grapple agreed.
"How about we talk about it back your base. That's where I was going before I sensed you," Windblade said.
"We'll have to discuss it," Ironhide said. "Huddle up." The Autobots all huddled together to talk as Windblade doesn't hear them. "What do you think?"
"I don't trust her," Jetfire said.
"There's a surprise," Trailbreaker said with sarcasm in his tone.
"Jetfire is correct to be cautious," Drift said. "Decepticons are known to bait Autobots to lower their guard."
"Come on, guys, she isn't like that. If she wanted to kill us, don't you think she would have done it already?" Hot Rod asked.
"She might be biding her time. Also, I'm not buying the whole telepathic mumbo jumbo," Jetfire said.
"It does sound ridiculous," Gears said.
"What do you think?" Grapple asked.
"We could take her back with us," Hot Rod said.
"You're joking, right?" Ironhide asked.
"Optimus would like to hear about it, don't you think?" Hot Rod asked.
"The kid has a point," Cliffjumper said.
"We should cuff her all the same," Jetfire said.
"Or just watch her," Windcharger said.
"Until Prime knows what to do," Warpath said.
"Optimus would never allow a breach in security," Jetfire said.
"He's right. He would want a good reason for letting an outsider in, Autobot or not," Brawn said.
"Give her a chance, Jetfire," Hot Rod said.
"We'll talk about it when Optimus and the rest are back in base," Powerglide said.
"Perceptor, you think you can open a ground bridge?" Prowl asked.
"Good to hear from you, Prowl. And affirmative," Perceptor said. He activates the ground bridge as Prowl, Ironhide, Mirage, Brawn, Windcharger, Warpath, Cliffjumper, Gears, Hoist, Grapple, Trailbreaker, Powerglide, Drift, Jetfire, Cosmos, Hot Rod, and Windblade all enter through the ground bridge. Perceptor sees they have picked up one more.
"So, this is the Ark. Nicer than I thought it would be," Windblade said.
"Who are you?" Perceptor asked.
"The name's Windblade. Any chance to call over your leader?" Windblade asked. Perceptor was reluctant to comply with her and thought a lot about it.
Back in Harmony City, the four battles were getting started as Diane entered the stage. Kairi has exchanged Jigglypuff, Raichu, and Vanilluxe for Girafarig, Sawsbuck, and Liepard.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the semifinals is now officially underway as our eight remaining Coordinators are about to start battling each other to make it right to the top! Only one of them is going to make it through, so let's get started!" Diane announced as Hilda and Rosa had their battles, along with one before Kairi and Hector's turn. "And now, it's time for battle number four! First off, we have Hector, and second we have Kairi! Reminder, five minutes on the clock and the goal is to take out as much of the opposing Coordinator's points as possible! Begin!" The clock starts running as Hector took out three of his Pokéballs placed in Ball Capsules. All has white Line Seals.
"Go! Cinccino, Escavalier, and Rufflet!" Hector called out. His three Pokémon all came out with white lines following them. Kairi figured he evolved Minncino at some point after the Striaton City Pokémon Contest. She took out her three Pokéballs and threw them. Her Pokéballs are placed with a yellow Song Seal, one in a multi-colored Star Seal, and a pink Heart Seal.
"Go! Liepard, Girafarig, and Chatot!" Kairi called out. Liepard came out with pink hearts as Girafarig came out with color-changing stars, and Chatot came out with yellow music notes.
"Cinccino! Start up with Tail Slap! Escavalier! Use Fury Attack! Rufflet! Use Wing Attack!" Hector ordered. Hector's Pokémon all launched their attacks onto Kairi's Pokémon.
"Girafarig! Use Psychic to block!" Kairi ordered. Girafarig blocked their attacks with Psychic, making Hector lose some of his points. "Chatot! Use Chatter!" Chatot began to blabber random sentences, making Cinccino, Escavalier, and Rufflet cover their ears. Hector lost more of his points. "Liepard! Feint Attack on Cinccino!" Liepard vanishes and then reappeared to land a hit onto Cinccino.
"Kairi's making a good start by hacking away at Hector's points!" Diane announced.
"Not bad, Kairi! But I have some tricks up my sleeve. Rufflet! Use Brave Bird! Minncino, Escavalier! Hyper Beam!" Hector ordered. Rufflet flies straight into the air and its body becomes surrounded in an orange bird-shaped aura. Minncino and Escavalier fired Hyper Beam, contributing to Rufflet's Brave Bird. Rufflet then comes diving down at Girafarig and Liepard.
"Dodge!" Kairi called out. Liepard managed to dodge, but Girafarig wasn't so lucky when Rufflet came too fast for the giraffe Pokémon to dodge.
"Girafarig has taken a pretty bad hit from that Brave Bird, and so has Kairi's points!" Diane announced as Kairi's points took a bad hit.
"I wasn't expecting a Brave Bird and Hyper Beam combo to be used like that," Terra said.
"Those look really powerful," Twilight said.
"Yes, but Brave Bird is a tricky move to use, because it deals recoil damage when it's used, and Minncino and Escavalier won't attack again right away because of Hyper Beam," Riku said.
Girafarig has taken a lot of damage from that triple combo attack, and struggles to get back up on his hooves. The clock is now down to four minutes.
"Girafarig's not gonna last much longer if this keeps up," Kairi said.
"Rufflet! Use Aerial Ace!" Hector ordered. Rufflet flew right at Girafarig again with incredible speed.
"Psybeam!" Kairi ordered. Girafarig fired Psybeam, hitting Rufflet on the mark. "Liepard! Use Night Slash on Minncino! Chatot! Use Steel Wing on Escavalier!" Liepard slashed at Minncino as Chatot lands a hit onto Escavalier with Steel Wing.
"Kairi's pushing back with a barrage of attacks!" Diane announced.
"Chatot! Use Round!" Kairi ordered. Chatot started to sing, creating music notes. The music notes struck the three opposing Pokémon. Hector's points suffers greatly. "Psybeam!" Girafarig fires Psybeam and struck Minncino, resulting in a knockout.
"Minncino is down!" Diane announced.
"Escavalier! Attack Girafarig with Hyper Beam!" Hector ordered. Escavalier fired Hyper Beam at Girafarig, resulting in a knockout.
"And Girafarig is down! Now, it has become a double battle!" Diane announced. The clock is now down to three minutes. Kairi and Hector calls back their fallen Pokémon.
"Chatot! Use Chatter!" Kairi ordered. Chatot started to chatter some random phrases and quotes. Escavalier and Rufflet tried to keep out the noise again. "Liepard! Use Night Slash!"
"Escavalier! Use Drill Run!" Hector ordered. Liepard and Escavalier came at each other again as they both land a hit onto each other. It results in a double knockout.
"And we are at a single battle as it is Rufflet vs Chatot! Only one of them will still be flying!" Diane announced.
"Wing Attack!" Hector ordered.
"Steel Wing!" Kairi ordered.
Both bird Pokémon flew at towards each other and lands a hit as Kairi and Hector's points each took a hit, reaching the two minute mark.
"Two minute warning for both Coordinators!" Diane announced.
Steel Wing!" Kairi ordered.
"Wing Attack!" Hector ordered.
Both bird Pokémon flew at each other and clashed into each other. Kairi and Hector's points dwindles as the clock reads one minute and thirty seconds. They kept flying at each other.
"Aerial Ace!" Kairi and Hector both ordered. Chatot and Rufflet flew right at each other, landing a hit onto each other. Both started to plummet towards the ground.
"It looks like Rufflet and Chatot has each taken some heavy damage!" Diane announced. Chatot spreads his wings out and flew upwards as Rufflet tried to do the same thing, but Rufflet makes a crash landing, resulting in a knockout with one minute remaining. "Rufflet is unable to continue battling and Chatot wins! And the winner is Kairi!"
"Winner is Kairi! Winner is Kairi!" Chatot repeated. The parrot-like Pokémon perched on Kairi's shoulder and smiled.
"You did great, Chatot," Kairi said.
"And Kairi makes four of the finalists!" Diane announced as Kairi, Hilda, Rosa, and a fourth Coordinator makes in the finals. It shows Hilda will be battling the fourth Coordinator as Kairi will be battling Rosa.
Over to the Nemesis, Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet kneeled before Megatron as he is angered by their failure.
"You had a handful of Autobots in your grasp, and you allowed them to escape?! How often must I tolerate your incompetence?!" Megatron exclaimed.
"We were close to destroying them, my lord, but a female Autobot showed up unexpectedly and did a number on us and our troopers," Ramjet said.
"You mean one Autobot did that to you?" Megatron asked.
"Yes. And this Autobot has demonstrated her ability to fly," Dirge said.
"And she was not with of Optimus Prime's unit, but she is a cunning warrior," Thrust said.
"Windblade. It seems she has survived after all," Megatron said. "After all these years, it was greatly assumed she has perished during the battle of Kaon." He sets his attentions to Starscream. "As it was my understanding, Starscream." Starscream waved his arms in defense.
"My lord, I saw her burst into flames myself. I swear by the AllSpark she couldn't have survived that explosion," Starscream said.
"Windblade is a capable warrior. You would be wise to find her and annihilate her," Megatron said.
"At once, my liege. I shall gather a squadron of my Seekers to hunt her down and-" Starscream said before Megatron cuts him off.
"No. You shall have the pleasure of hunting down Windblade alone. And if you do not bring back her head, then I shall have yours and use it as a constant reminder to those who dare to fail me," Megatron said. Starscream was frightened by Megatron's threat.
"As you wish, master," Starscream said, taking off with his mission.
"That is exactly what I wish, Starscream," Megatron said.
Starscream is now outside and he transformed into his jet form and flew off to find Windblade.
"Even if I don't come back with the head of Windblade, but I plan to have yours instead, Megatron," Starscream said to himself.
Over in the Ark, Windblade stood before Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots. Jetfire was skeptical about allowing her to enter the Ark.
"Optimus Prime, it's good to see that rumors of your demise was all exaggerated," Windblade said.
"You have my many thanks, Windblade. Without your help, we would have resulted in the loss of our good friends," Optimus said.
"I heard a lot about you, Windblade," Bumblebee said. "I heard you were among the Autobot casualties during the battle of Kaon. It was said you made a violent crash."
"Also, exaggerated. I was shot down, but then someone found me. I lost a lot of Energon, and I was losing consciousness fast until everything went black. When I woke up, I found myself to be healed up. Don't know who, what, or how I was healed by, but whoever it was, they just brought me to the Well of AllSparks. I went down and I was looking right at Primus," Windblade explained.
"The giver of life to all Cybertronians?" Wheeljack asked.
"Impossible," Ratchet said.
"I knew you wouldn't believe; I don't even believe it, and I was just right there. It felt moments ago before I met you, but it doesn't seem like that now. Primus was dying, and he said that an ancient evil is threatening both of Cybertron and Earth. Primus has given me an upgrade and put me in stasis. When I woke up earlier today, I knew that the ancient evil Primus told me about was getting closer. When I arrived to this planet to you, I sensed the Cons presence and came to the rescue since Prowl, Ironhide, Mirage, Brawn, Windcharger, Warpath, Cliffjumper, Gears, Hoist, Grapple, Trailbreaker, Powerglide, Drift, Jetfire, Cosmos, and Hot Rod were the closest bots to me," Windblade said.
"Was this telepathic link you spoke of one of the upgrades Primus has granted you?" Optimus asked.
"Yes," Windblade answered. "That's how I was able to find this world and all of you."
"It has got to be some sort of Decepticon trick, to get us to lower our guard," Jetfire said, pointing her weapon at her. "I say we imprison her and force the truth out of her."
"Whoa, cool it, Jetfire!" Jazz said. "That's for Prime to decide."
"Jazz's right, Jetfire. You remember that we were skeptical about letting you join, remember?" Seaspray pointed out. Jetfire knew he was right and he puts his weapon away.
"Fine," Jetfire said.
"I can be a great help to you. I can also detect some Energon mines, untouched by Decepticons," Windblade said.
"That I would like to see for myself," Jetfire said.
"Here we go again," Hauler said.
"Give her a chance, Jetfire. We could use some more Energon, and you know it," Huffer said.
"Don't you think the Cons would be knocking on our door by now just like when we made a break for it?" Smokescreen asked.
"Highly doubtful, Smokescreen. I have done a scan onto her, and I am not picking up any Decepticon signals off her," Perceptor said.
"Since the Cons now know we're all still functioning, things are going to get a whole lot harder to maintain cover as long they're still out there," Sideswipe said.
"Yeah, they made it harder for us," Sunstreaker said.
"Regardless, we should welcome the newest member of our squadron. Windblade shall prove trustworthy in the field of battle. And hope for all Autobots has presented itself to us, and for that, we shall be grateful," Optimus said.
Back in Unova, the Digimon all arrived to Harmony City. Agumon sniffed the air for Sora's scent.
"Sora," Agumon said.
Back at the Grand Festival, Hilda and the fourth Coordinator had their battle, resulting Hilda's victory.
"And Hilda wins it, and makes it to the final stage! Now, it is time for our next match! From Aspertia City, and Kairi from Pallet Town! Now begin!" Diane called out.
The Grand Festival was close to reaching its conclusion as Kairi and Rosa has began their battle! Who shall make it to the final round, and who shall earn the bronze? And what is this ancient evil Windblade spoke of? Find out as more answers all come.
