Chapter 37
Day Of Past Regret
Oliver P.O.V.
After we were in the air, we started to talk about what to do next. "We manage to get the four elemental spirits." Karol said to everyone. "Yeah. Now…" Yuri said. "Comes the hard part." I said, finishing Yuri's sentence. "We have to convert the world's blastia cores to spirits." Estelle said to everyone. "Right. If we could control the Adephagos with just four, then we wouldn't need the others." Rita said to everyone.
"That thing is not exactly something you want to take on lightly. We better make damn sure we're set. There's no second chance." Raven said to Rita. "I know. I know." Rita said to Raven. "Just by creating the spirits, we've already changed Terca Lumireis. Even if it is to save the world." Judith said to everyone.
"We've been making these decisions all on our own. Now we're changing the lives of everyone in the world. That can't be just our decision." Estelle said to everyone. "Yeah, you're right…" Karol said to Estelle. "If we can't get them to understand what we're trying to do… Then we're just as bad as Alexei." Yuri said to everyone. "Alexei was trying to change the world for himself. We have to change the world to save it. I'm sure people will understand." I said to Yuri.
"And we don't have much time." Hugo said to everyone. "But we can still talk to the Imperial Knights and the Guids, right?" Karol asked everyone. "But if they don't approve of how we're doing things… we will become the great evil." Judith said to everyone. "I don't know about all of you. But I would rather be the villain in a world still spinning, not a dead hero." I said to everyone.
"I can't stand by and watch the world be destroyed either. Even if Duke manages to save the world his way… it doesn't mean anything if there's no one left to live in. So I don't care if people call me evil. I will give up the blastia to defeat the Adephagos." Yuri said to everyone. "Yuri brings up a point. The choice of the people are , our way, Duke's way, or the Adephagos way. And two out of three of those ways end with everyone dying." Ava said to everyone.
"What are you going to do? If you want to get off, now's the time." Yuri asked everyone. "I'm going. My life belongs to Brave Vesperia anyway." Raven said to Yuri. "Me too. Phaeroh and Belius left it to us. And I don't like leaving things half-finished." Judith said to everyone. "I know what it feels like to regret what you didn't do. If I stop now. I'll really regret it." Rita said to everyone.
"Yeah, me too. I don't want to feel like that." Karol said to everyone. "No matter what path I choose. I can take whatever happens… I've learned that on this journey." Estelle said to everyone.
"I'm in. This world may not be perfect, but it's a pretty nice one. I hate to see it fall." Ava said to everyone. "And I have a people and city to look after. So let's do it." Hugo said to everyone. "And you all know I'm in. So let's get to work on our plan." I said to everyone. "And the people of the world will understand! They're strong enough to take a changing world!" Karol said to everyone.
"Yeah. We do this today, so we can laugh tomorrow. That's what I believe." Yuri said to everyone, before Repede woofed at Yuri. "What are you going to do Patty?" Yuri asked Patty. "It's obvious. Isn't it? I've coming, too!" Patty said to Yuri. "All right, everyone. Together until the end." Yuri said to everyone. "So let's get ready and then go talk to His Majesty Ioder and the people in the Union." Karol said to everyone.
"So what exactly do you need to get ready?" Raven asked everyone. "Leave it to me. I want to stop by a city somewhere. I need to pick up some stuff." Rita said to everyone. "How about port Nor? It's at the of Ilyccia." Karol said to everyone. "I want to find out what's happened at Ehmead Hill since the road was blocked, too. Let's go." Yuri said to everyone. "You heard the man Ba'ul. Take us to port Nor." I said to Ba'ul.
Ba'ul let out a cry and started to move. We flew for a few hours. And I saw Judith and Yuri talking to Ba'ul about something, and even saw Sylph, Undine, Efreet, and Gnome talking to Ba'ul for a bit, before disappearing. "What was that about Sylph?" I asked, making Sylph appear next to me. "Ba'ul was worried about becoming a Spirit." Sylph said to me. "Fare enough. That's something to worry about. But hopefully he won't have to worry about that for a long time." I said to Sylph, before Sylph disappeared.
After a bit, we reached port Nor, and had Ba'ul landed outside the city. When we walked into the city, we noticed that it looked good, but was quiet. "This has become quite a place, hasn't it?" Yuri asked everyone. "Yeah, but it's too quiet. Where is everyone?" I asked everyone. "Has everyone evacuated crossing the Blade Drifts?" Estelle asked everyone. "I think they escaped to Tolbyccia, around Torim." Karol said to everyone.
"Maybe the ships are back in service now." Judith said to everyone. "Anyone would think of running away under a sky like this." Raven said to everyone. "But run where? If you hadn't noticed, that thing covers all of it." Ava said to Raven.
"OK. I'm gonna go shopping." Rita said to everyone. "Can I join you?" Estelle asked Rita. "Uh, Yes." Rita said to Estelle, making Reuniclus, Metagross, Togekiss, and Audino giggle a little. "Shut up." Rita said to them. "You all wait up at the inn." Rita said to everyone. "Ok." Yuri said to Rita, before Rita, Estelle, Reuniclus, Metagross, Togekiss, and Audion left us. We then made our way to the inn waiting for them.
We waited in the inn for a bit. While waiting Karol, Mawile, and Gogoat explored the town a little. After a bit, Karol, Mawile and Gogoat came back first. "So Karol, found anything?" I asked Karol. "Looks like the Teagles got away too." Karol said to everyone. "I don't know if we should be worried about that or not." I said to Karol, as Rita, Estelle, and their Pokemon walked into the room, with the Pokemon and them carrying a lot of bags.
"I love port towns. They always have stuff, even in times like this." Rita said to everyone. "Did you have to buy everything in the port?" Ava asked Rita. "I need all this. Looks like things just might work." Rita said to Ava. "What did you buy?" Yuri asked Rita. "One of each formula crest, and… container parts." Estelle said to Yuri. "Plus a boat load of everything else." Ava said to Estelle.
"What are you trying to do?" Raven asked Rita. "I'm making a device that will converge the spirits' powers. A kind of make-shift Dein Nomos. Pulse some spare parts just in case." Rita said to everyone. "Dein Nomos… I wonder what Duke is doing now…" Karol said to everyone. "I don't know… But he seems totally obsessed…" Yuri said to everyone.
That's when we heard Patty sighed, and everyone looked at Patty. "Patty, what is it?" Yuri asked Patty. "Huh? I'm famished…" Patty said to everyone. "Want me to make you something?" Karol asked Patty. "I do appreciate the offer, but I must decline. I'd blow up like a puffer fish if I ate now. No, sleeping is the best way to distract oneself from an empty tummy. So, good night!" Patty said to Karol, before laying in a bed. That's when Slowbro and Cramerant moved to the side of Patty's bed, and started to sleep with her.
"They say kids need sleep to grow up, but I doubt Patty's growin' up any time soon." Raven said to everyone. "Rita's gonna need a bit more time, too. We should catch some shut-eye while we can." Yuri said to everyone. "Yes. good idea." Estelle said to everyone, as we all got ready to sleep.
After sleeping for a while, something was shaking me, and I woke up to see Yuri and Estelle standing over me. "This better be important?" I asked them. "Patty left." Estelle said to me. "Good enough." I said, as I got up.
Me, Yuri, and Estelle made our way out of the inn, and saw Patty running. "I'm worried about her. Running off by herself in the middle of the night." Estelle said to us. "Yeah… But it kind of seemed like there was something weighing on her." Yuri said to us. "Any ideas what's bugging her?" I asked everyone.
"Maybe she was thinking about Aifread." A female voice said to me. That's when we noticed Judith and Hugo walking to us. "Judith, Hugo! I didn't realize you two were awake. "Now that you bring it up she hasn't said a peep about Aifread lately…" Rita said, as we watched her walk out of the inn and to us.
"Rita, you're up too?" Estelle asked Rita. "And so's this ol' man." Raven said, as he walked out of the inn. "I'm going to check on her… I'll be right back." Estelle said to everyone. "I'll come with you. It's too dangerous to go wandering around alone." Judith said to Estelle. "It's still pretty risky just the two of you. Judith darlin'. Allow me, I'll escort you." Raven said to Judith. "And I'll go with you to make sure Raven behaves himself." Hugo said to Judith, giving Raven a mean look.
"I'm going too." Rita said. "Well, I guess if everyone's going…" Yuri said. "Not everyone, we're missing Ava, Karol, and the Pokemon." I said to Yuri. "Not any more." A voice said, making us turn to see Ava, Karol, and the Pokemon standing at the inn's door. "What's the matter?" Karol asked us.
"Hey, Sleepyhead. We're going out for a bit. You, Gogoat, and Mawile sit tight and hold the fort." Yuri said to Karol. "Huh? Where are you going? D-Don't just leave us here!" Karol said to Yuri, with Gogoat and Mawile nodding their heads in agreement with Karol. "I guess even the twerp and his pokemon want to tag along. "All right, then we'll all go and take a quick peek." Yuri said to everyone. "But first we have to find her." I said, as we started to move and look for Patty.
After a bit, we found Patty by Ragou's private dock. That's when Patty pulled out Maris Stella, a beam shot out of it, and the ghost ship appeared in the harbor. "Th-That's!" Rita said to everyone. "The ghost ship, The Atherum." I said to everyone. "Come on!" Yuri said, as we all ran to Patty. "Patty, Please wait!" Estelle said to Patty, getting Patty's attention.
"What are you all doing here?" Patty asked us. "We could ask you the same question. Why the solo trip out here, hm?" Raven asked Patty. "We've gathered the spirits and are about to embark on a life or death mission. I just wanted to settle my own affairs before that." Patty said to us. "Are you talking about Aifread?" Yuri asked Patty.
"This is my problem, and mine alone. No one else should have to bear the burden…" Patty said to everyone, but I interrupted her. "Patty, you share our burdens. We can bear yours." I said to Patty. "Yeah, we're friends. You don't have to do this alone." Karol said to Patty. Patty went quiet. That's when Cramerant and Slowbro hugged and nuzzled Patty. "I don't think Cramerant and Slowbro will let you go alone, even if you want to." I said to Patty.
"Hey Those are Hunters?!" Rita said, as we noticed a few hunters rowing boats to them. "Why are they rowing those boats?" Estelle asked everyone. "Did you call them here, Patty?" Yuri asked Patty. "Patty what's going on? Does the Maris Stella have something to do with it?" Ava asked Patty.
"It's reaching out for its other half." Patty said to everyone. "Meaning its other half is on that ship?" Judith asked everyone. "But the Maris Stella is… huh?" Karol asked Patty. "Does this have anything to do with that "problem" You mentioned?" Rita asked Patty. "Aye." Patty said to Rita. Then the Hunters stopped next to us.
"Okay let's go." Yuri said to everyone. "Huh?" Patty asked. "What are you waiting for?" Yuri asked Patty, as everyone with Patty got into the boats. "You're… going to come with me?" Patty asked us. "You know there's no way we'd let you go by yourself." Yuri said to Patty. "Yeah, we're friends. And this is what friends are for." I said to Patty. "My thanks… But I will be the one to settle what needs settling." Patty said to us, as she got into the boat.
Then the Hunters started to roll the boat, taking to The Atherum. "Hey, does that mean that Aifread is on that ship?" Karol asked everyone. "Who knows. Guess we'll have to see when we get there." Yuri said to Karol. "I don't know. Something tells me this is something else." I said to everyone.
A few minutes later, we reached The Atherum, and the Ghost Type Pokemon helped us onboard the ship. "So you were looking for that treasure that Aifead had hidden, right, Patty? So you could meet him and get your memories back…" Karol asked Patty. "Aye." Patty said to Karol. "And then you ended up finding the Maris Stella, right?" Karol asked Patty. "Well, yes… and no. The treasure Aifread was searching for was the Maris Stella." Patty said to Karol, looking at the Maris Stella.
"What? So you were both after the exact same thing? then, will you be able to find him now?" Rita asked Patty. "If I used the Maris Stella… I'll find him, without a doubt." Patty said to Rita. "Then that means Aifread must be one the ship." Karol said to everyone. "Well, you see…" Patty said to Karol, but some growling made her stop.
"Wh-what the heck?" Raven asked. "Is that what I think it is?" Ava asked everyone. Then the Ghost Type Pokemon pointed to the back upper deck. "Up there!" Yuri said, as we looked up to see the skeleton captain monster we faced.
"We've defeated that monster here before, haven't we?" Judith asked everyone. "Yes, and we're stronger now. But something tells me he's not here for a fight." I said to Judith. That's when Patty ran ahead of everyone. "Patty!" Estelle said to Patty. "Is that Aifread?" Karol asked everyone. "That? It can't be… but…" Estelle said. "Whoever it is, we gotta go!" Yuri said to everyone.
"Yes. I believe the Ghost Type's helped us down last time. Maybe they'll help us up." Judith said to everyone. The Ghost Type Pokemon let out a cry and grabbed us, helping us up to the upper deck.
When they placed us on the deck, we got ready to fight. But then Patty ran in front of us. "Seifer, It's me! Do you recognize me?" Patty asked the monster holding up the Maris Stella. "Who's Sifer? I thought that was Aifread!" Karol asked everyone. "I'm pretty sure Seifer was one of Aifread's officers." Raven said to Karol.
That's when the monsters tried attacking Patty, but Slowbro and Cramerant fired a steam of water at the monster, forcing it back. "Patty." Judith said, as we got ready to fight. "Looks like we don't have time to chit-chat!" Yuri said to everyone. "Seifer… we're setting this here and now!" Patty said to the monster. "Let's make this quick." I said to everyone, as we started to fight. "Then let's go full force from the gate." Ava said, as we Mega Evolve our Pokemon, with me going with Mega Blastoise.
"Gallade use Leaf Blade, and Noivern use Iron Tail." Hugo said to Gallade and Noivern, as he charged at the monster, with his flame blades out. "Gallade." Gallade said, as his arms blades glowed green. "Noivern." Noivern said, as his tail glowed silver. The three of them dodged the monster's attack, and Hugo slashed the monster's left hip, Gallade slashed the monster's right hip, and Noivern slammed his tail into the back of its head.
Then the monster fired shots at us. "Audino use Reflect." Estelle said to Audino, as she made a wall of water. "Audino." Audino said, as she made a glass wall behind the water wall. The shots hit the water first, slowing them down, and making them stop when they hit glass.
"Now Togekiss use Aura Sphere." Estelle said to Togekiss. "Togekiss." Togekiss said, clapping her wings together, and spertated them, making a blue sphere appear. Then Togekiss tossed it, hitting the monster in the chest, forcing it back.
"Houndoom use Flamethrower, and Delphox use Mystical Fire." Ava said to Houndoom and Delphox, as she fired stone arrows at the monster. "Houndoom." Houndoom said, as she fired a steam of fire. "Delphox." Delphox said, as she pulled out her stick, and formed a fire circle, then a burst of fire burst out of the circle. While on the ground, the monster used its cape to block most of the fire from the Pokemon, but Ava's stone arrows were able to get through and hit the monster in the chest. When Houndoom and Delphox stopped their fire, the monster's cap was burned away.
The monster got up, and charged at everyone. That's when I felt some wind around my maces, and I opened my palms. My maces didn't fall out of my hand, but started to spin in a circle. I then tossed my maces, and they spun, making a small wheel of wind around them as they hit the monster in the head, making it stop and stunning it a little. Then my maces came spinning back to me, and I caught them with ease.
"Well Sylph, I gotta say. I like this trick. Blastoise use Water Pulse, and Manectric use Thunderbolt." I said to Blastoise and Manectric, as I opened my hands, making my maces spin and throwing them. "Blastoise." Blastoise said, as he fired a large water ball from his main cannon. "Manectric." Manectric said, as he fired a bolt of electricity. The electricity hit the water ball and fused. Then my maces hit the monsters in the arms, giving a clear shot of the electric water ball. The electric water ball hit the monster in the chest, dealing a lot of damage.
But the monster got up, and charged at us. "Sableye use Power Gem, and Excadrill use Drill Run." Raven said to Sableye and Excadrill, as he fired some arrows at the monster. "Sableye." Sableye said, firing energy beams from his crystal. "Excadrill." Excadrill said, as he clapped his claws to his horn, and started to spin, charging to the monster. But the monster took the arrows and energy beam, and kept charging, even using his anchor sword to swat Excadrill out of the way and into the deck.
The monster was about to bring down his sword on Yuri, but the Reflet was still up, and blocked the attack. But the monster started to repedely slam his sword into the glass barrier. "Bisharp use Iron Head, and Banette use Shadow Claw, when the barrier falls." Yuri said to Bisharp and Banette. "Bisharp." Bisharp said, as his head turned silver and rough. "Banette." Banette said, as his claws became encased in black energy, with a purple outline.
Then the glass barrier broke, and tried to slash Yuri and his Pokemon. but Yuri and his Pokemon dodged the attack, and Yuri rammed his sword into the monster, Bisharp rammed his head into the monster's chest, and Banette rammed his claws into the monster's side. Then they jumped away from the monster.
But the monster was able to withstand that, and charged again. Karol got onto Gogoat's back, and they got in its way, and Karol used his massive sword to block the monsters attack
"Mawile use Iron Head, and Gogoat use Seed Boom." Karol said to Mawile and Gogoat. "Mawile." Mawile said, as the back of her ponytails became silver and rough. Mawile then slammed her ponytail's into the monster's sides, stunning it. "Gogoat." Gogoat said, as Karol moved his sword. That's when Gogoat fired glowing green seeds from his mouth, as he jumped back. The seeds hit the monster and caused an explosion.
When the smoke cleared, the monster was still alive, and on its knees. "Why won't this thing stay down? Flygon use Steel Wing and Salamence use Dragon Claw." Judith said, as she charged at the monster. "Flygon." Flygon said, as his wings turned silver. "Salamence." Salamance said, as his front claws became encased in purple energy. The three of them slashed the monster as they ran past it, leaving deep cuts.
But the monster worked through the pain, got up, and charged at everyone. "Slowbro hold him down with Psychic, and Cramerant use Scald." Patty said to Slowbro and Cramerant, as they held up her pistol. "Slowbro." Slowbro said, as her eyes glowed pink, making a pink outline appeared on the monster, holding the monster in place. "Cramerant." Cramerant said, as Cramerant fired a steam of hot water, at the same time Patty fired shots at the monster.
But when they stopped the monster dropped to its knees. "Metagross use Hammer Arm and Reuniclus use Psyshock." Rita said to Metagross and Reuniclus, as she charged up a fireball spell. "Metagross." Metagross said, as he charged at the monster, and moved his arms around the monster, then slammed his arms into the monster. "Reuniclus." Reuniclus said, as she made purple orbs formed around the monster. Metagross moved out of the way, right as Reuniclus and Rita fired their spell. The attacks caused a massive explosion. When the dust cleared, the monster was laying on the ground.
Then the monster flew up into the air, and was still alive after all those attacks. "It's still alive…" Karol said, as we watched it fly. Then Patty ran past everyone, and climbed a ladder to the top of the back mast. Estelle tried to follow her, but me and Yuri stopped her. "Wait." I said to Estelle.
We watched Patty reach the top of the mast, and Cramerant flying after her. Once Patty reached the top, she faced the monster, and Cramerant landed on her head. "Seifer. I'm sorry I made you wait for so long. I lost my memories, and it took me a while, but I finally made it back…" Patty said to the monster. "I knew it. She regained her memories." Yuri said to everyone. "So we're about to learn everything." I said to everyone.
"Ai… fread…?" the monster asked Patty. This surprised everyone. "Aifread it is you. Been a while." the monster said, as the soul of a man in a pirate outfit popped out of the monster. "Why's he calling her Aifread? Wait a second…" Karol said. "It can't be." Ava said. "Aifread is… Me!" Patty said to everyone. "Wh-what are you talking about?" Estelle asked Patty. "She means, she was Aifread the whole time." Ava said to Estelle.
"Seifer, you recognize me?!" Patty asked the soul. "Yes… but you must leave this place before I lose myself and turn on you once more." Seifer said to Patty. "I will not. I came here to release you. From that monstrous form, and from the Black Hope's fate." Patty said to Seifer. "That day… I turned my hand against many… committed a great sin…" Seifer said to Patty.
"Is he talkin' about the Black Hope Massacre?" Raven asked everyone. "I think so." Ava said to Raven. "They would have only suffered more if you hadn't. Like the way you're suffering now. That accident turned them all into monsters, and you saved them!" Patty said to Seifer. "And yet the one who killed them lives freely in this form…" Seifer said to Patty. "You saved me. You let me escape. This time, it's my turn to save you, Seifer." Patty said to Seifer.
"Aifread… You'd release me from this agony…." Seifer asked Patty. "You've done so much for me, protecting those scallywags in Siren's Harbor… and you've always supported me. But… And now… It ends…" Patty said to Seifer, pointing her pistol at Seifer. And I could see Patty was having a hard time pulling the trigger.
"Patty." Yuri said. "Her mind must be going through a whirlwind of emotions." Hugo said to everyone. "Seifer, you're the only one I…" Patty said to Seifer. "I'm sorry to make you suffer so Aifread…" Seifer said to Patty. "I'm far from the only one who's suffered. You've been through much worse, Seifer. You're my friend, so I'll shoulder your pain too. And to free you from your misery, I… will kill you." Patty said to Seifer.
"Those people… Those creatures… They are the ones helping you through this? Good… Even without your memories, you are not alone, you are not in pain. That was all I worried about… You've made some wonderful friends, Aifread… Here… Take this." Seifer said to Patty, as he made a crystal plate with a hole in it, appeared in front of Patty. "The Maris Gemma…" Patty said. "Now I can die in peace… Go on… Do it…" Seifer said to Patty.
Patty fingers shook, making the pistol shake. "Cramerant." Cramerant said, helping Patty hold her pistol steady. "Thank you Cramerant." Patty said to Cramerant, before pulling the trigger, finishing Seifer. "Bye-bye…" Patty said to Seifer, as Seifer faded away.
Patty and Carmerant then calmed down from the mast. "Patty, are you okay?" I asked Patty. "It's okay to cry if you want to cry, you know." Yuri said to Patty. "No matter how tough the situation is, cryin' gets you nowhere. That's my motto!" Patty said to everyone. "Slowbro." Slowbro said, as she, and the Pokemon gathered around Patty, giving her a big group hug.
"I won't cry. Shedding tears is no way to pay my respects to the dear friends I've lost. I am Aifread, boss of Siren's Fang. So I… I will not cry… I will never cry… I don't want to cry…" Patty said to everyone, on the urge of crying. "Patty, I'm sure they'll understand. And you cry that their gone may not bring them back, but it will show them that you'll miss them, like they'll miss you." I said to Patty.
That's when Patty finally broke down in tears, the Pokemon all trying to comfort her the best they could, with the Mega Pokemon turning back to their normal forms. And the rest of us could only stand there and watch this.
After a while Patty stopped crying and we got back in the boat, and the hunters took us back to the docks. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you all earlier." Patty said to us. "It's no problem Patty. This is something that you need to tell us when you are ready." I said to Patty.
"Honestly, I was pretty stunned. In fact, I'm not sure if I buy it at all. How can you be the famous Aifread?" Rita asked Patty. "There's not a lot we know about Aifread. But I was certain he was a man." Raven said to Patty. "Seifer is the one who dealt with people outside of the Siren's Fang, so lots of folks believed he was Aifread." Patty said to us.
"So in other words you were the secret leader of Siren's Fang, while Seifer was the face of Siren's Fang." Hugo said to everyone. "Just how old are you?" Ava asked Patty. "A lady never tells their age." Patty said to Ava.
"Um… do you plan to tell the world the truth about the Black Hope Massacre?" Estelle asked Patty. "A tale that infamous won't vanish overnight. Besides…" Patty said to us. "Besides what?" Judith asked Patty. "As long as you all know the truth, that's enough to satisfy me." Patty said to us.
"Then we're the bearers of Aifread's story, a serious duty." Yuri said to everyone. "But it does bind us together as friends." Karol said to everyone. "Ha ha… I don't mind a burden like that." Judith said to everyone. "Well, I guess if I have to." Rita said to everyone. "You count me in." Ava said to everyone. "I'll be glad to bear the story of Aifread." Hugo said to everyone.
"Hm? Let an old man join in the fun." Raven said to everyone, as Repede and the Pokemon barked. "May our relationship continue to blossom." Estelle said to everyone. "And may it be fruitful and bountiful." I said to everyone. "Thanks… Y-You're all too sweet. Seifer… I've finally met a crew that I can trust like I trusted you…" Patty said to everyone.
Then we reached the dock and got off the boats. "Frillish!" A voice said to us, making us turn, and we could see a floating light blue and white squid, with three of it's tentacles like legs, and two tentacle for arms, it had a round head with a spot on top of it, red eyes with a black outline, and a fluffy collar around its neck. It was waving to us. "Is that a Pokemon?" Estelle asked, as she pulled out the Pokedex, and the Hunters rowed away.

"But what is it doing?" Rita asked everyone, as Estelle put the Pokedex away. "It's waving to us." Patty said to everyone. "But why?" Karol asked everyone, before we could see the Frillish pick up a hat, put it on, and move to the helm of the ship. "Maybe that's Seifer." I said to everyone.
"Seifer? How can that be?" Rita asked me. "It's believed that when a person dies, they become a Ghost Type Pokemon." I said to everyone, as the Hunters reached the ship. Once the boat and Hunters got onto the ship, the Frillish spun the helm, making The Atherum sail out of the harbor.
"Do you think that really is Seifer?" Patty asked me, as we watched The Atherum leave, with her eyes still having tears in it. "Maybe." I said to Patty. "Do you think we'll see them again?" Patty asked me, feeling the urge to cry. "Maybe one day in the future. Now let's go back to the inn, we need to rest, if we want to win the day and have that future." I said to Patty, then everyone, before we all went back to the inn to sleep the rest of the night away, with Patty starting to cry a little, and the Pokemon helping her to the Inn.
The next morning Patty was the last one to wake up. "Morning, little miss crybaby." Rita said to Patty. "Rita!" Ava said to Rita. "So? Feeling any better after that nice long cry?" Yuri asked Patty. "You don't have to say anything if you don't have to." I said to Patty. "I'm perfectly fine." Patty said to us.
"Good… so, now what are you planning on doing?" Yuri asked Patty. "Yeah, now that you've got yer memories back, and ya saw what ya wanted to see." Raven asked Patty. "It's obvious, isn't it? I'm sticking with you guys!" Patty said to everyone. "Are you sure that's what you want?" Estelle asked Patty. "Aye. It's not like I'd just abandon you to fight the Adephagos without me or my Pokemon! Besides, I've come this far. I want to see it through till the very end." Patty said to Estelle.
"Well. we're glad to have you, Patty." Yuri said to Patty. "Heh. I'm glad to be here." Patty said to everyone. "And maybe when we're done saving the world, you can tell us more about your history." I said to everyone, before Repede and the Pokemon started to get agitated. That's when the ground shook. "Now what?!" Hugo asked as we all ran outside.
"Judy! Any ideas?" Yuri asked Judith. "Ba'ul saids, something is going on over there." Judith said, pointing in the direction of Aspio. "Wait! That's where Aspio is!" Rita said. "What's going on?!" Karol asked.
That's when we noticed a massive, ancient city flying out of the earth and into the sky, magic circles keeping it in the sky. "Aspio… What happened to Aspio…?" Rita asked, as her Pokemon were worried about her. "What the hell is that thing?" Raven asked everyone. "It looks like… a mountain- belay that, a building." Patty said to everyone. "Tarqaron." Estelle said, making us all look at Estelle.
"Huh?" Karol asked Estelle. "The spirits are telling me that's the Tower of Tarqaron." Estelle said to everyone. "And they're saying that Arceus, alone, slammed that entire place into the earth, so they knew his warning was a real one." Hugo said to everyone.
"Duke. It's got to be him and his Pokemon. He's going to try to use that against the Adephagos." Yuri said to everyone. "But how? How can he use this Tower of Tarqaron to face the Adephagos." this place be I asked, as I rubbed my chin. "Please let me through. You with the long, black hair, and the man with the lightning bolt scarf. Do you have a moment?!" a male voice asked, making us turn to see a man walking to us.
"What do you want?" Yuri asked the man. "Some people with the knights wanted me to tell them if I saw two people with your appearances. They said they wanted to talk to you two about Flynn, the new Commandant of the Imperial Knights." the man said to Yuri. "What?!" Yuri asked the man. "I believe you two are the right people?" the man asked us. "Who was looking for us?" I asked the man.
"Hey, was it a girl with kinda cat-looking eyes and a kid with a head like an apple?" Yuri asked the man. "Huh? Oh… yes, I suppose so." The man said to Yuri. Yuri and I looked at each other. "As much as I want to tell them to beat it. We should hear them out about Flynn." I said to Yuri. "So can we wait at the Inn?" Yuri asked the man. "Yes. That's fine. I'll call them." The man said to us, before he left, and we went back into the inn.
A few minutes later, Witcher and Sodia. "We finally got you two! Where have you two been wandering around?" Witcher asked me and Yuri. "Yuri… Lowell… Oliver… Forest…" Sodia said to us, not looking at us, and had a sad look on her face. "Sodia?" Witcher asked Sodia, surprised by Sodia's behavior.
"As to where we've been. We've been doing our own thing. Also we don't work for you. So why should we be telling you where we are?" I said to Witcher and Sodia. "So what's up with Flynn?" Yuri asked them.
"Oh! Right. Many people have fled this continent since that monster covered the sky. But some opposed using a guild fleet to protect the empire. Flynn could not abide that. A fleet attacked by monsters landed on Hypionoia. We fought, and even had Pokemon help us, but they kept gaining." Witcher said to us. "We alone were sent for aid… but all the knights are spread all over the world…" Sodia said to us. "We have no other choice but to ask for your help." Witcher said to us. "But… we're too late… Commander Flynn must be…" Sodia said, but I interrupted her.
"I'm sure he's fine with Corviknight and Lucario helping him. Which is more than you two could ever be to him." I said to Sodia and Witcher. "Yeah. could you be any more worthless?" Yuri asked Sodia. "What did you say?!" Sodia asked Yuri, but still with a defeated look on her face.
"You give up already? Everything you've done-what was it all for?" Yuri asked Sodia. "I… I did it all for Commander Flynn! Even that one time…" Sodia said to Yuri. "No. You did it for your idea about who Flynn should be. Not who he was and what he needed or wanted." I said to Sodia. "He's had a point. You talk about doing it all for Flynn. But you're just whining. You gave up. You forgot your resolve." Yuri said to Sodia.
"Resolve…" Sodia said. "Yeah, that resolve to kill us because you think Flynn doesn't need a criminal and bad influence like us." I said to Sodia. This caused Sodia to shake a little. "What's wrong, Sodia? It's this the part where you pull out your sword and threaten to arrest us or to kill us?" I asked Sodia. "I… I… I… I can't use my sword anymore." Sodia said to me, making Witcher look at her with a worried look on his face. "Well that explains why you ran away while Flynn was in trouble. You can't fight anymore." I said to Sodia.
"Yo! Apple-head! You said Hypionia, right?" Yuri asked Witcher. "Y-yeah…" Witcher said to Yuri. "All right. We'll be back soon. All of you get ready to go to Tarqaron." Yuri said to everyone. "Yeah, we should be back at sunset." I said to everyone. "I'm going too!" Estelle said to us. "Yeah, me too. You keep forgetting us." Karol said to us. "You two really gotta stop being the lone wolf heros. We're a team." Ava said to us.
"I'm glad you want to come, but this seems pretty bad." Yuri said to them. "That's even more reason to let you two and your Pokemon go. I don't think Ba'ul will listen to you, either." Judith said to us. "All for the guild and the guild for all… right?" Rita asked us. "Besides, it's not like we have time to argue about this." Hugo said to us.
"Well, if we're out of time, let's go and get it over with." Raven said to everyone. "I will follow you till the day I die, and with more moxie than a snapping moray eel!" Patty said to us. Then the Pokemon and Repede barked in agreement. "Okay, okay. So let's get going!" Yuri said to everyone. "Yeah! Brave Vesperia, chaaarge!" Karol said, as everyone ran out of the room, with Witcher leaving with us, leaving Sodia alone.
As we walked to Ba'ul, Yuri and I walked behind everyone, with Witcher going a different direction. The reason, we knew Sodia would come running up to us. And she did. "Yuri Lowell! Oliver Forest!" Sodia said to us, running to us. "Looks like someone still has their roar." I said, as me and Yuri stopped, and the others kept walking, not noticing us.
"Why?! Why didn't you two call me out for me actions that time? I… I tried to kill you… and… I let you fall." Sodia said to us. "Oh, we're not letting it go. But we don't have time to deal with someone who gave up on everything." Yuri said to Sodia, with us not looking at her. "I haven't given up…" Sodia said to Yuri.
"You say that. But your body betrays your words. You had a hard time looking us in the eye, you can't use your sword anymore, and when I taunted you your body shook in fear. If those actions don't say you've given up. Then I don't know what dose." I said to Sodia, as me and Yuri turned our heads a little, to look at her with one eye. "Yeah. Why are you here instead with Flynn fighting by his side? You wanted to protect him so badly you'd kill us. Why won't you protect him now?!" Yuri asked Sodia.
Sodia took a step back. "I… I can't protect him by myself… Please… save him… please…" Sodia said to us, sounding like she will drop to her knees. "You don't have to tell me to do that." Yuri said to Sodia. "Please…" Sodia said to us. "Man. How pathetic can you be?" I asked Sodia. "You know, there's one thing I agree with you on." Yuri said to Sodia, getting her attention.
"We're criminals. We could be killed any time. Flynn is the perfect knight. A perfect leader. He doesn't need two criminals by his side. We're just standing in until the right person comes along." Yuri said to Sodia.
"Sodia. It's time for you to take a good look at your life. Yuri and I have killed people before, and while it may weigh on us. We don't let it affect us. You on the other hand. You tried to kill one person and you freak out. This means you were never meant to stand at Flynn's side as a soldier. And now that you can't use a sword and in your mind you're a criminal like us. You're even more unfitted to be at his side as a warrior. So leave the sword, find a Pokemon that would want to be your partner, and learn how you can help Flynn a better way." I said to Sodia. "Yuri… Oliver…" Sodia said, as we walked away.
