In the communications room of the Bounty, Robin and Ava were working on setting up Merlok 2.0's holographic software.
Robin had his back on Cole's Skateboard as he used it to slide himself in and out from under the communication table as Ava used their computer to set up their Nexo Power databases.
Sensei Wu walked in to see the two small children working away diligently and smiled,"What are you two doing?"
Robin rolled himself out from under the table,"Oh hi, Mr. Wu, Ava and I are trying to get Merlok set up so we can access his Nexo Power when we reach the Dark Island." He explained.
Sensei Wu nodded at him,"I understand, please continue with your work young Robin and Miss. Ava."
Robin smiled as he slid back under the table, and Ava continued her decoding. Sensei Wu walked out of Communications and to the deck to see Clay standing there sword in hand and eyes closed.
With a deep breath Clay began to practice an array of combo attacks, his posture was slightly sloppy to Wu and his eyes looked a tad distracted. Maybe the Blue Knight needed some advice and with his mentor temporarily in uncommission, he should lend some of his own wisdom.
Clay noticed Master Wu walked up towards him and knelt to him,"Master Wu." He greeted.
"No need for such manners Clay, I am not your Master or Mentor." Sensei Wu said as the blue knight rose to his feet.
"My apologies, I'm not used to Ninjago customs." Clay said as he dusted off his pants while staring off at the sea.
Sensei Wu could get a better look in his eyes, there was something bothering his soul deeply but what was it? "Clay, would you like to have some tea with me?"
Clay looked uncertain for a moment but accepted the Master's offer following Sensei Wu to his quarters where he sat at a small table while Sensei Wu poured the two of them some tea.
Sensei Wu served Clay his before sitting down across from him,"Careful it's still a bit hot."
Clay grasped the cup in his hands as he gently blew to cool the tea before staking a small sip. Ahhh, refreshing,"Thank you Sensei Wu."
Sensei welcomed him as he sipped on his own tea before asking,"Something on your mind Clay?"
Clay sighed as he set his cup down,"I've been thinking a lot about how I reacted when Robin first said that he believed Lloyd was his long lost older brother. I reacted a tad bit harshly and I hurt his feelings but I was so… flabbergasted by this fantasy he made up." He paused his fidgeting with the side of the cup,"But then I began looking at the photos from that album, the one you let him keep and I can't deny they look so much like him. And chronologically the timeline of when Misako gave up her younger son and Robin being adopted are so close together. I…I don't want to believe it but what if he really is Lloyd's younger brother and your younger nephew."
Sensei Wu was silent as he listened to Clay's words and took a deep breath as he spoke,"And why would you not want to believe this Clay, the possibility of Robin being Lloyd's younger brother."
Clay averted his eyes,"Because… Because I haven't been the best older brother figure as of lately… Last night Robin made the comment that it was the most fun he's seen me have in a long time. I know it's because of my rigorous training and leading the Nexo Knights in our fight against Monstrux but it hurts hearing that come out of Robin's mouth."
Sensei Wu hummed to himself as he stroked his beard,"You're afraid that if Robin is Lloyd's younger brother then he will leave the Nexo Knights… leave you, Clay." Sensei Wu's words seemed to have struck a nerve with Clay as he tightened his grasp on the cup, "Clay, out of all of us you know Robin the best. Would he truly do that to you and the Nexo Knights?"
Clay hesitated but in moments his grip lessened,"No… Robin is one of the kindest people I have met, his heart is as if made of pure gold." He reminisced about past memories with him and Robin. The reason why he fought to protect others, to protect him.
The Bounty suddenly shook violently, alerting Clay and Sensei Wu who immediately made their way up to the deck.
The sky had turned a dark grey and the waves were crashing against the Bounty violently, "Master Wu go get the Knights and the Ninja, we're going to need all hands on deck!"
Sensei Wu gave a nod before retreating below. Thinking quickly on his feet Clay immediately ran over to man the sail. Gripping the rope as best as he could, he pulled back but struggled against the raging winds trying to knock him over. His grip was slipping, but before he could completely lose his grip Kai had run over to Clay gripping the rope with him,"Need a hand?"
Clay sighed in relief as he saw Axel, Aaron, and Zane also assist him with gripping the rope, "Come on guys we got this!" Aaron cheered from the back as the five of them used their combined strengths to pull.
Cole, Lloyd, and Lance emerged from below and immediately went over to help as well; their combined strengths managed to keep the sail steady for now.
In Communications, Robin and Ava were holding onto the communication table so they wouldn't fall due to the violent jerks of the Bounty.
Misako, Macy and Nya emerged from outside, Nya and Macy ran up to the wheel and began trying to use their combined efforts to turn it.
Misako's first instinct was to check on the children,"Are you two alright?"
The two nodded,"We're fine thank you, Miss. Misako." Ava said as Robin opted for a more silent approach.
Before Misako could react to Robin's silence, bizzare laughter was heard around them, Misako looked to the window just as a starfish with razor sharp teeth landed on the window,"Starteeth." She muttered under her breath.
"Star what?"Macy asked as she and Nya finally began to get the Bounty back on course.
"Starteeth they're extremely dangerous sea creatures that eat anything they can sink their teeth in." Misako explained as they heard the window panes cracking.
The computer in the side of the room began to flash red. Ava quickly went over to it and began typing away,"They're damaging the lower deck if they damage it too much they'll sink the ship."
"There's gotta be something we can do." Nya said, before everyone braced themselves for another tremor.
On the deck of the Bounty the Nexo Knights and Ninja were attempting to set the sail straight with their combined strengths.
That was till a Starteeth latched onto the rope and chewed it in two sending the boy stumbling back.
"What are those things?" Clay asked as he drew out his sword and sliced the starfish in half causing it to disintegrate into nothing.
Zane watched as more Starteeth landed on board the deck and began feasting on the wood,"They're Starteeth, they feast on anything that swims in its waters and by the looks of it they'll devour the entire Bounty if we do not do something about them now."
Staring at the Starteeth on the deck, Lloyd immediately Spinjitzued toward them, sending the sea creatures flying off the Bounty," You guys heard Zane, We have to get these things off the Bounty now before it's too late!"
The rest nodded in agreement, the ninjas started using Spinjitzu while the Nexo knights used their weapons. The Ninja and Nexo Knights fought off the Starteeth in the middle of a raging storm. Once the storm passed, the Starteeth had fled and left their ship alone but not untouched. Sadly the Bounty had taken a severe amount of damage to the lower deck leaving a large gaping hole in the side.
In a group effort to keep the Bounty afloat the team worked effortlessly dumping buckets of water out from inside the boat. Robin, having heard the news earlier from Ava, came to assess the damage.
Clay handed his bucket to Lance who seemed unhappy with the idea of working but opted not to rebel given their current situation. The blue knight walked over to the peach haired boy, "Hey, anyway you think you can patch it?"
Robin turned to him and shook his head,"No I don't have the materials I need and there's no way to get them with us being in the middle of the ocean." He felt so worthless being unable to help.
"There's gotta be something we can do, we're sitting ducks out here." Cole commented as he emptied a bucket of water into the city.
Zane hummed as he opened the compartment on his arm and began typing away, "My falcon friend says there's an island near here. Maybe we should dock there till we find a solution to patching the Bounty."
Clay debated the idea,"I guess it would be better than staying in the middle of the ocean. How far away is it?" he asked.
Zane walked over to the hole in the ship and looked out,"About 3,000 feet away."
The other raised their brows before peaking out the whole to see an island with a large tower in the middle of it.
Little did Zane know, he just found something that would forever change his life.
