Episode 506: Sora vs Stephan, Bianca, and Hugh
After a rough battle with Georgia, Sora was relaxing with a cool drink of Moomoo Milk.
"Ah, that hits the spot," Sora said.
"That was some great battling out there, Sora," Stephan said.
"Thanks. You gave it your all out there," Sora said.
"I was gonna say the same about you, Sora. The way you put Georgia in her place; the Dragon Buster got Dragon busted," Stephan said.
"Well, if we end up battling each other tomorrow, just know I don't plan on going easy on you just because we're friends," Sora said.
"Wouldn't want you to, Sora," Stephan said.
Both trainers shook hands to seal the deal. Sora exchanged Haxorus, Hydreigon, and Druddigon for Conkeldurr, Luxray, and Floatzel for his next battle.
On the next day, fireworks goes off as the next part of the tournament is all three-on-three battles. All of the trainers who made it through all gather around as to see who was battling who.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are know in the next part of the Unova Pokémon League, and it's a single battle! Trainers will be using three Pokémon each, and substitutions are allowed! A lot of these trainers have made it this far, and only a small sum will be moving on in the next part which will be full six-on-six battles!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Six-on-six? I thought it was five-on-five!" Cameron said.
"Dude, it's six Pokémon in a full battle," Nate whispered.
"If you would direct your attention on the screen, we shall see who is battling who!" Freddy O'Martian announced as the mugshots are being displayed. It turns out that Nate and Benga will be battling each other in the first round as Sora and Stephan will be the second round. "And here we have it! The first battle will be Nate versus Benga!"
Both Nate and Benga entered the battlefield and they each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go right in, Eelektross!" Nate called out. Eelektross came right out to battle.
"Go! Garchomp!" Benga called out. His Garchomp came on out to battle. Garchomp roared upon entry.
"Benga made a good choice since Garchomp is a Ground Type. Eelektross's Electric Type moves won't affect him," Kairi said.
"That may be, Kairi. Eelektross has an ability known as Levitate, so Garchomp's Ground Type moves won't even touch it," Cilan said.
"Battle begin!" The referee announced.
"Eelektross! Use Dragon Claw!" Nate ordered. Eelektross came right at the mach Pokémon with Dragon Claw.
"Dodge and use Stone Edge!" Benga ordered. Garchomp dodges and unleashed Stone Edge. Eelektross got struck hard by the stones.
"Eelektross takes some bad damage from that Stone Edge!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now, use Fire Blast!" Benga ordered. Garchomp unleashed Fire Blast, and it lands a hit onto Eelektross, resulting in a single knockout.
"Eelektross is unable to battle! Garchomp wins!" The referee announced.
"Benga takes the early lead in this match! Eelektross never stood a chance against Garchomp! I don't know how Nate can keep up with Champion Alder's grandson!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Nate called back Eelektross and took out his second Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Emboar!" Nate called out. Emboar snorts out some flames.
"Nate's second Pokémon is his Emboar! Garchomp has the edge in Types since Dragon Types are not bothered by damage from Fire Type moves, and Fire Types are weak against Ground Types! What is he planning?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Garchomp! Use Earthquake!" Benga ordered. Garchomp jumped in the air and lands on the ground, making the whole stadium shake.
"Use Heat Crash!" Nate ordered. Emboar jumped and came down like a meteor. Garchomp didn't have time to dodge, so he was struck by Emboar's Heat Crash.
"Garchomp has taken loads of damage from that Heat Crash!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Didn't he just say that Dragon Type Pokémon aren't bothered too much by Fire Type moves?" Twilight asked.
"That is true, Twilight, but depending on the Pokémon's weight, Heat Crash can do a tremendous amount of damage," Cilan said.
"Talking about throwing one's weight around," Veemon said.
"Emboar! Use Hammer Arm!" Nate ordered. Emboar lands a hit with Hammer Arm. "Now, use Hammer Arm again!" Emboar lands another hit with Hammer Arm, dealing some heavy damage.
"Emboar makes good work of Garchomp with its Hammer Arm! Garchomp will be feeling that in the morning!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Garchomp! Use Stone Edge!" Benga ordered.
"Emboar! Heat Crash!" Nate ordered. Emboar jumped and makes a burning landing on the shark-like Pokémon, dealing some damage. Emboar got up as Garchomp was now down and out.
"Garchomp is unable to battle! Emboar wins!" The referee announced.
"Nate pushes back with Heat Crash! Benga is now down to two Pokémon remaining!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Benga took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Dragonite!" Benga called out. Dragonite came out, ready to go.
"Both trainers are now using their second Pokémon! Will Dragonite avenge Garchomp's honor, or will Dragonite meet the same fate as Garchomp?" Freddy O'Martian asked. "That is what we are here to find out!" Nate called back Emboar and took out a Dive Ball and threw it.
"You're up now, Lapras!" Nate called out. A Lapras came on out with a majestic cry.
"Nate's third Pokémon is a Lapras!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Oh wow! This is the first time that I have ever seen a Lapras with my own eyes!" Cilan said.
"Me too. It's so pretty," Iris said.
"Dragonite! Start things up with your Focus Blast!" Benga ordered. Dragonite unleashed Focus Blast right at Lapras.
"Dodge and use Ice Beam!" Nate ordered. Lapras dodges just by sliding and fired Ice Beam, striking Dragonite on the spot, freezing it. Dragonite fell to the ground while in a block of ice. "Now, use Dragon Breath!" Lapras unleashed Dragon Breath, hitting Dragonite on the mark again. Dragonite is struck by the wall and the ice shatters. Dragonite had been taken out.
"Dragonite is unable to battle! Lapras wins!" The referee announced.
"Nate is making a huge comeback by taking advantage of Dragonite's weakness to Ice and Dragon Type moves! Benga is down to one left in reserve!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Benga called back his Dragonite and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up now, Volcarona!" Benga called out. His Volcarona came out with a twirl.
"Benga's third and final Pokémon is his Volcarona! Lapras the clear advantage since being a Water Type Pokémon! How will Benga fair against Lapras?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Use Quiver Dance!" Benga ordered. Volcarona's body begins to glow white. It then starts dancing around Lapras, leaving behind afterimages of itself. Volcarona raises up its special attack, special defense, and speed by a stage.
"Volcarona is using Quiver Dance to raise up its special attack, special defense, and speed! Could Benga be making a comeback?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Volcarona! Use Fire Blast!" Benga ordered. Volcarona unleashed Fire Blast very fast and it came too fast for Lapras to dodge. The transport Pokémon had been taken down with just one hit.
"Lapras is unable to battle! Volcarona wins!" The referee announced.
"Now it's Nate who is down to one Pokémon! This could be anyone's match now!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Nate called back Lapras and took out his Emboar's Pokéball and threw it.
"You're going back in, Emboar!" Nate called out. Emboar came back out to battle.
"Emboar has been sent back out! Emboar must still be fired up since that battle with Garchomp! Let's see how so!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Volcarona! Use Psychic!" Benga ordered. Volcarona lifts Emboar off of the ground and slams him down. "Now, use Bug Buzz!" Volcarona flaps its wings and gave loads of damage to the mega fire pig Pokémon.
"Emboar has taken a lot of damage with the use of Psychic and Bug Buzz! Nate better think fast if he wants to stay in this!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I'm going have to focus if I'm going to take down that Volcarona. With Quiver Dance already used, it's going to be hard to keep up with it," Nate said in his thoughts.
"Volcarona! Use Fire Blast!" Benga ordered. Volcarona fired its Fire Blast right at Emboar.
"Block that with Flamethrower!" Nate ordered. Emboar fired Flamethrower and it managed to block Volcarona's Fire Blast. It results in an explosion, resulting in the both of them getting injured.
"Emboar and Volcarona has taken lots of damage from Flamethrower and Fire Blast! Talking about fire with fire!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Volcarona! Use Psychic!" Benga ordered. Volcarona raises Emboar up in the air again. "Bring it down!" Volcarona starts to bring Emboar down.
"Heat Crash!" Nate ordered. Emboar's body is surrounded by flames as he uses it to cover the battlefield with black smoke.
"The whole battlefield is covered with thick black smoke! I can't seem to see Emboar anywhere!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Emboar moved through the smoke, using it as a cover.
"Blow that smoke away with Bug Buzz!" Benga ordered. Volcarona flapped its wings again to blow the smoke away, but it sees Emboar gone. Gone would have been an understatement since he was standing right behind Volcarona.
"Behind you!" Benga exclaimed.
"Hammer Arm!" Nate ordered. Emboar slammed his arm against Volcarona hard and slammed against the wall. "Flamethrower!" Emboar quickly fired Flamethrower. Before the fire moth Pokémon could react, Volcarona was struck hard by Flamethrower. Emboar stopped firing his attack when he saw Volcarona was down for the count.
"Volcarona is unable to battle! Emboar wins! The winner is Nate!" The referee announced.
"Nate brings home the gold in this match as he competes for another day!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Benga helped Volcarona up.
"You okay, Volcarona?" Benga asked.
"Rona," Volcarona replied sadly.
"Don't worry about it. You were awesome out there. There's always next time," Benga said. Volcarona felt better about losing. Sora and Pikachu were heading for the battlefield when he bumped into Nate.
"Congrats on your win, Nate," Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora. And good luck in your battle," Nate said.
"Thanks," Sora said. He entered the battlefield as Stephan entered it as well.
"And now, it's time for our second battle of the day! We have Sora versus Stephan!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Sora and Stephan stared at each other. Stephan took out his first Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Liepard!" Stephan called out. His Liepard came on out to battle. Sora took out his first Pokéball and threw it as well.
"You're up, Conkeldurr!" Sora called out. Conkeldurr came on out, holding his stone pillars.
"Ah, he's using Conkeldurr. A Fighting Type like Conkeldurr has the advantage over a Dark Type like Liepard," Cilan said.
"Ooh, look how bulky Conkely looks," Pinkie said.
"Conkely?" Iris asked.
"It's best not to question anything Pinkie says or does. It ain't worth a headache," Applejack said.
"Wonder if the battle between Stephan and Sora will be just as exciting just like the one between Nate and Benga," Silverstream said.
"Yona want to know right now," Yona said.
"Liepard! Start up with Shadow Claw!" Stephan ordered.
"Use Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr came right at the leopard Pokémon with Power-Up Punch ready to go. They collide with each other.
"Right off the bat! A Shadow Claw and Power-Up Punch collision!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Stephan ordered. Liepard fired Shadow Ball right at Conkeldurr.
"Bat that back with your pillar!" Sora called out. Conkeldurr swung his stone pillars and sends Shadow Ball flying.
"Conkeldurr blocked that Shadow Ball with the use of its pillars! That was a great defense on Sora's part!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Bulk Up!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr builds up his muscles. Both attack and defense has increased. "Now use Rock Slide!" Conkeldurr hurls Rock Slide right at Liepard.
"Use Double Team!" Stephan ordered. Liepard creates several copies of itself. The rocks managed to miss their target.
"Liepard dodges with the use of Double Team! How will Sora be able to keep tabs on Liepard?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Stephan ordered. Liepard and the copies fired Hyper Beam and it deals some damage onto Conkeldurr. Sora was glad he used Bulk Up before, because he knew it would have done even more damage.
"Okay, let's try something else. Conkeldurr! Swing your pillars around to find the real one!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr swings his pillars around and manages to hit the copies.
"Use Shadow Claw!" Stephan ordered. Liepard and the remaining copies all lunged at Conkeldurr with Shadow Claw, hitting him all at once.
"Stay strong, Conkeldurr," Sora said.
"Liepard and the duplicates are overwhelming Conkeldurr, despite it being a much larger opponent!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Stephan ordered. Liepard and the copies fired Shadow Ball all at once, landing a hit onto Conkeldurr. All of the copies vanished, leaving only the original. "Now use Shadow Claw!"
"Conkeldurr! Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr lands a Power-Up Punch onto Liepard, dealing some heavy damage and increasing his attack strength.
"Conkeldurr lands a vengeful hit with that Power-Up Punch, while increasing its own attack power!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Double Team again!" Stephan ordered. Liepard made several copies of itself.
"Not again," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Stephan ordered. Liepard fired Hyper Beam right at Conkeldurr again.
"Use Bulk Up!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr flexes up his muscles again, increasing his attack and defense again. Hyper Beam did little damage to him.
"Conkeldurr is still standing after taking that damag!" Stephan exclaimed.
"Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr hurls Rock Slide again, dealing some more damage than before. "Now, use Superpower!" Conkeldurr lands a hit with Superpower, resulting in a knockout.
"Liepard is unable to battle! Conkeldurr wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead in this battle, leaving Stephan with two left!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Stephan called back his Liepard. "And now we wait for his second Pokémon!" Stephan threw his second Pokéball.
"Go! Zebstrika!" Stephan called out.
"Stephan's second Pokémon is his Zebstrika! Can Conkeldurr keep going after taking all that assault from Liepard?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Conkeldurr was panting heavily, tired from the intense battling Conkeldurr went through.
"Can you still keep going?" Sora asked. Conkeldurr turned around and nodded.
"Then, I'll support you. Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr unleashed Rock Slide right at the zebra-like Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Flame Charge!" Stephan ordered. Zebstrika charged right at Conkeldurr, landing a hit.
"Incredible! Zebstrika has landed a hit with Flame Charge, and increasing its own speed!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now, use Shock Wave!" Stephan ordered. Zebstrika unleashed Shock Wave to land a hit.
"Block that!" Sora called out. Conkeldurr blocked with his pillars. Shock Wave bounces right off.
"Sora knew Shock Wave can't be dodged, so he blocked it instead! Good defense!" Cilan said.
"Sora isn't the little kid I thought he was," Iris said.
"Let's hope Conkeldurr can hold out a little longer," Karen said.
"Conkeldurr! Use Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Conkeldurr came at Zebstrika with Power-Up Punch.
"Dodge!" Stephan called out. Zebstrika dodged just by running. Zebstrika was much faster thanks to Flame Charge.
"Flame Charge is making it even more challenging since it increases a Pokémon's speed after every use. I better think fast to take it down," Sora said. "Rock Slide all around!" Conkeldurr unleashed Rock Slide all over the battlefield. Rocks were getting in Zebstrika's path from left to right.
"Zebstrika's starting to slow down from the rocks on the battlefield! It seems to be having a hard time trying to keep running!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"So that's how you want it, huh? Okay, use Flame Charge, straight on!" Stephan ordered.
"Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered.
Conkeldurr and Zebstrika ran towards each other and lands a hit onto each other, resulting in a double knockout.
"Conkeldurr and Zebstrika are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"Both trainers lost their Pokémon in a collision of Power-Up Punch and Flame Charge! Sora has two left as Stephan now has one!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Stephan took out his third Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Sawk!" Stephan called out. Sawk came out, sitting on his knees. Sawk then stands up and does a shoumen ni rei to Sora.
"Stephan's final Pokémon is his Sawk! It gives a bow of respect to Sora," Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Luxray!" Sora called out. Luxray gave a loud roar upon entry.
"And Sora's second Pokémon is his Luxray! I can't help but feel how these two Pokémon will duke it out!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Luxray! Thunder Fang!" Sora ordered. Luxray came at Sawk with Thunder Fang.
"Use Karate Chop!" Stephan ordered. Sawk swings his hand as Luxray moves in to land a bite. Both got struck hard.
"The both of them felt that! Sawk gave a pulverizing Karate Chop as Luxray gave off an electrifying Thunder Fang!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Luxray! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Luxray ran across the battlefield.
"Use Bulk Up!" Stephan ordered. Sawk flexes his muscles as Luxray lands a hit with Quick Attack.
"Sawk has felt little damage from that Quick Attack!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Charge Beam!" Sora ordered. Luxray fired Charge Beam right at Sawk.
"Dodge and use Low Sweep!" Stephan ordered. Sawk avoids Charge Beam and gave a kick to Luxray's right front leg. Luxray roared in pain. "Now use Close Combat!" Sawk gave Luxray a series of beatings from Close Combat. Sawk gave Luxray one more hit, making him fall on the ground.
"Luxray has taken a lot of damage from that Close Combat! Can Luxray keep going after that?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Luxray refuses to stay down, so he gets back up. "Luxray is refusing to stay down! I have never seen such determination from an Electric Type Pokémon like this!" Sawk was amazed and impressed by Luxray's determination.
"Luxray! Use Thunder Fang!" Sora ordered. Luxray charged right at Sawk with Thunder Fang, and ready to go.
"Sawk! Use Brick Break!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moved in to deliver Brick Break. Sawk moved too fast for Luxray, so he was struck hard by Brick Break and taken down.
"Luxray is unable to battle! Sawk wins!" The referee announced.
"Now Sora has one left to use! What could he have in store?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Sora took out his third Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Floatzel!" Sora called out. Floatzel came on out and he was ready to go.
"And Sora's final Pokémon is his Floatzel!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Go get him, Floatzel!" Agumon said.
"Okay, Sawk! Use Close Combat!" Stephan ordered. Sawk ran towards Floatzel and gave the sea weasel Pokémon a series of beatings, but Floatzel inflates his floatation sacs and the onslaught does little damage to him. Stephan was stunned by the results.
"It doesn't look like Sawk's Close Combat didn't do much of anything! I doubt Stephan was expecting this result!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"How did that happen?" Starlight asked.
"I've seen this before," Kairi said. Karen, the ponies, dragons, griffin, yak, changeling, and yak looked right at her.
"You have?" Rarity asked.
"Ooh! Where did you see it?" Pinkie asked.
"It was back in Pastoria City when Sora was battling Crasher Wake. His Floatzel did the same exact thing," Kairi said.
"I remember that battle. Crasher's Floatzel gave Sora a real run for his money," Aqua said.
"What does Floatzel's sacs have to do with anything?" Applejack asked.
"The sacs on Floatzel are used for helping people float on the water. The sacs are pretty thick, attacks like Hyper Beam and Giga Impact won't do much damage. Sora must have been planning on that from the start," Terra said.
"That's my big brother," Karen said proudly.
"Sawk! Use Brick Break!" Stephan ordered. Sawk moved in to deliver a Brick Break. Floatzel ducks out of the way.
"Use Ice Punch!" Sora ordered. Floatzel lands an Ice Punch uppercut, sending Sawk flying backwards. "Now use Razor Wind!" Floatzel created a whirlwind around himself. Floatzel unleashed blades made of air and they struck Sawk hard.
"Sawk got struck hard by that Razor Wind!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Sawk got back up on his feet. "But Sawk is still raring to go! It looks like it'll take more than a powerful attack like Razor Wind to take Sawk down!"
"You got that right! Sawk! Bulk Up!" Stephan ordered. Sawk raises up his attack and defense power by flexing his muscles. "Now use Low Sweep!" Sawk slid down to deliver a low kick right at the sea weasel Pokémon.
"Use Aqua Jet!" Sora ordered. Floatzel rams into Sawk with Aqua Jet. "Use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Floatzel unleashed Hydro Pump and sends Sawk back. Sawk still refused to stay down. "Ice Punch!" Floatzel gave Sawk another punch with Ice Punch, freezing Sawk in place.
"Floatzel's Ice Punch has frozen Sawk in place! How is Sawk going to get back out there?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Use Bulk Up to break the ice!" Stephan ordered. Sawk uses Bulk Up to break himself free of the ice.
"I knew you wouldn't stay down that easily," Sora said.
"Looks like you're going have to try a whole lot harder!" Stephan said.
"That goes for you, too, Stephan!" Sora said. "Floatzel! Ice Punch!"
"Sawk! Use Brick Break!" Stephan ordered.
Both Pokémon charged at each other. Both delivered the finishing blow onto each other. Floatzel and Sawk stood their ground for moment. They stood for a few seconds until Sawk fell on his back, beaten.
"Sawk is unable to battle! Floatzel wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced.
"Sora makes it through the first battle of the second round! We move on to the next round!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora and Stephan walked up to each other and shook hands.
"Hey, that was an awesome battle, Sora," Stephan said.
"Thanks. You would have had me," Sora said.
"I'm so looking forward in our next match," Stephan said.
"You too," Sora said.
Sora and Stephan both shook hands, promising each other another battle someday. Hilbert, Cheren, Bianca, Hugh, Cameron, and Virgil won their matches along side some of the other trainers remaining.
After having Conkeldurr, Luxray, and Floatzel healed from their battles, Sora exchanged them for Serperior, Heatmor, and Stunfisk. Everyone were anxiously waiting to see who were battling next.
"Ladies and gentlemen, if you would direct your attention to the screen, we have the matchups for tomorrow's series of battles! And here they all are!" Freddy O'Martian announced as the matchups had been made. It turns out that Sora will be battling Bianca as Hilbert will be having a battle with a different trainer before them. "Everyone get some rest for the battles, because they will be intense!"
"This is so exciting!" Bianca said, laughing to herself. "This is one of the outcomes I was hoping for. A chance to battle Sora and come out on top!"
"You still have to win the rest of the tournament in order to do that, Bianca," Cheren said.
"I know, I know. Sora is the one I wanted to battle ever since the tournament started," Bianca said. She points her finger at Sora. "Just know that I don't plan on holding back, Sora!"
"I don't expect you to, Bianca," Sora said.
On the very next day, Hilbert won the battle against his opponent as Sora and Bianca entered the battlefield after them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to present you the second battle of the day! First we have the spiky-headed Sora, and second we have beret wearing Bianca!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Bianca took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"You're in first, Escavalier!" Bianca called out. Her Escavalier came on out, raising its lances. Sora took out his own Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Heatmor!" Sora called out. Heatmor came out and slightly waved to Escavalier.
"Bianca has sent out Escavalier as Sora sends out Heatmor! Judging by Types, Sora has the advantage!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Okay, Heatmor! Use Fire Lash!" Sora ordered. Heatmor takes out his fiery tongue and used it to whip Escavalier.
"Dodge that!" Bianca called out. Escavalier dodged Heatmor's Fire Lash. "Iron Defense!" Bianca ordered. Escavalier raises both of its lances into the air and its body becomes outlined in light blue. A white shine then goes up its body and its body turns into iron.
"Fire Lash again!" Sora ordered. Heatmor swings his tongue right at Escavalier again.
"Dodge that as well!" Bianca called out. Escavalier dodges Heatmor's Fire Lash again. "Iron Defense again!" Escavalier raises both of its lances into the air and its body becomes outlined in light blue. A white shine then goes up its body and its body turns into iron.
"Using Iron Defense twice in a row will really raise Escavalier's defense power!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Okay, Heatmor! Use Slash!" Sora ordered. Heatmor moved in to deliver Slash, but Escavalier dodged again.
"Iron Defense!" Bianca ordered. Escavalier raises both of its lances into the air and its body becomes outlined in light blue. A white shine then goes up its body and its body turns into iron.
"Iron Defense again?" Ventus asked.
"It's a good way to build up defense, but she'll have to attack sooner or later, or else it's gonna cost her," Lillie said.
"Bianca needs to be more aggressive than that," Riku said.
"Escavalier! Fury Attack!" Bianca ordered. Escavalier came at the anteater Pokémon with Fury Attack.
"Now Escavalier is putting the hurt on Heatmor!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Heatmor slams Escavalier with his claw. "Escavalier is unphased by that counterattack!"
"Maybe I'll try something else. But what?" Sora asked himself. He looked right at Escavalier. "Maybe I can try attacking from inside while outside attacks won't work. And I have the perfect distraction. Heatmor! Move in with Slash!" Heatmor moves in to slash at Escavalier.
"Iron Defense!" Bianca ordered. Escavalier uses Iron Defense just when Heatmor got close enough. Heatmor lands a Slash onto Escavalier, but that did little damage.
"Grab Escavalier by the lances!" Sora said. Heatmor grabbed both lances much to Bianca's surprise. "Now, use Fire Blast!" Heatmor fired Fire Blast, sending Escavalier flying. The cavalry Pokémon tumbles backwards and hits the wall, resulting in a knockout.
"Escavalier is unable to battle! Heatmor wins!" The referee announced.
"Okay, that was pretty good," Bianca said, calling Escavalier back. "Now here's my next Pokémon!" She took out her next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Emboar!" Her Emboar came on out to battle against Heatmor.
"Bianca's second Pokémon is Emboar! We shall see whose fire burns even hotter!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Okay, Heatmor! Fire Blast!" Sora ordered. Heatmor fired Fire Blast right at the mega fire pig Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Arm Thrust!" Bianca ordered. Emboar gave Heatmor an Arm Thrust from left to right. "Arm Thrust! Arm Thrust! Arm Thrust!" Bianca repeated as Heatmor is pelted with a barrage of Arm Thrusts.
"It looks like Heatmor is getting more than it can handle from Emboar's Arm Thrust barrage!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now use Hammer Arm!" Bianca ordered. Emboar slammed his arm into the anteater Pokémon, resulting in a knockout.
"Heatmor is unable to battle! Emboar wins!" The referee announced.
"And it's Emboar's fire that's burning hotter than Heatmor's!" The referee announced as Sora called back his Heatmor.
"Thanks a lot, Heatmor. Get some rest, you earned it," Sora said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Stunfisk!" Stunfisk came on out, flapping his fins.
"Sora has now sent out Stunfisk, a Ground Type and an Electric Type Pokémon!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"If you think Type advantages will help you, then think again! Emboar! Use Hammer Arm again!" Bianca ordered. Emboar moved in to deliver a Hammer Arm.
"Stunfisk! Use Camouflage!" Sora ordered. Stunfisk blends into the battlefield. Emboar looked around for any signs of Stunfisk.
"Emboar can't seem to find Stunfisk anywhere! Where could it be?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"I bet Stunny's playing hide and seek! I love that game!" Pinkie gushed.
"You would," Wormmon said.
"Use Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Stunfisk fired Mud Bomb, striking Emboar hard from the right. Emboar was now covered in mud.
"Flamethrower on your right!" Bianca ordered. Emboar fired Flamethrower, unaware that Stunfisk was moving while invisible.
"That was great! Now use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Stunfisk dropped his Camouflage and let Emboar have it with Thunderbolt, resulting in a paralysis. "Now use Scald!" Stunfisk unleashed Scald, striking Emboar in the face, resulting in a knockout.
"Emboar is unable to battle! Stunfisk wins!" The referee announced.
"And Emboar makes two Bianca has lost!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Bianca called back Emboar as she took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Simisage!" Bianca called out. Her Simisage entered the battlefield, waiting for Bianca's instructions.
"Bianca's third Pokémon is her Simisage! Now it's Bianca who has gained the upperhand now!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Simisage! Use Seed Bomb!" Bianca ordered.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Simisage fired Seed Bomb, but it came too fast for Stunfisk to dodge, so he was taken out with one hit.
"Stunfisk is unable to battle! Simisage wins!" The referee announced.
"What an upset for Sora! Stunfisk was taken out with just one hit! He is now down to one left to use, so let's see what he's got cooked up!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora took out his third Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Seismitoad!" Sora called out. Seismitoad came on out, ready to go.
"He's sending out Seismitoad?! He's a Water Type and a Ground Type! What's he thinking?!" Iris asked.
"He got something planned, I just know it," Riku said.
"You're slipping, Sora! You should know Seismitoad is weak against Grass Types," Bianca said.
"You're right about that, Bianca. But, there's always another way around that factor," Sora said.
"What do you mean?" Bianca asked.
"I'll show you. Seismitoad! Sludge Wave!" Sora ordered. Seismitoad fired Sludge Wave and it struck Simisage, resulting in poisoning.
"Of course! Seismitoad can use Sludge Wave, a Poison Type move! And it's common knowledge that Grass Types are weak against Poison Type moves!" Cilan said.
"Just as I thought," Riku said.
"Now, use Supersonic!" Sora ordered. Seismitoad fires Supersonic, making Simisage confused.
"Use Drain Punch!" Bianca ordered. Simisage tried to, but it ends up hurting itself.
"Simisage hurts itself in its confusion! What can Bianca do to stop Seismitoad's bombardments?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Okay, Seismitoad! Use Earthquake!" Sora ordered. Seismitoad shakes the battlefield, making the whole stadium shake. Simisage fell on the ground. "Use Sludge Wave!" Seismitoad unleashed Sludge Wave, striking Simisage, resulting in a knockout.
"Simisage is unable to battle! Seismitoad wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced.
"And that's two victories in this round, and he needs just one more to advance to the next round!" Freddy O'Martian announced
"Oh, I can't believe I lost!" Bianca cried.
After the battle, Bianca approached Sora.
"Congratulations, Sora. You won fair and square," Bianca said.
"Thanks, Bianca. The way you battled out there is proof that you're getting a lot better," Sora said. "You should be proud." Bianca smiled at that.
"Thank you, Sora," Bianca said.
Nate, Virgil, Cheren, Hugh, and Cameron have won their matches.
"Ladies and gentlemen, direct your attention to the screen to see who'll be up against who!" Freddy O'Martian announced. The mugshots of all the remaining trainers are all on display as it shows Sora will be battling Hugh while Nate will be battling Cameron. "And here you have it! All of our trainers will have to rest until tomorrow, because we will be in for a real show!""I'll be looking forward to this, Sora," Hugh said. "Just know I wanted to thank you for helping out. My sister wouldn't have gotten her Purrloin back from Team Plasma without your help."
"We took them down together, Hugh," Sora said. "Let's give everyone something to watch tomorrow," Sora said.
"You bet," Hugh said, sealing the deal with a handshake.
Sora has exchanged Seismitoad, Stunfisk, and Heatmor for Archeops, Darmanitan, and Galvantula.
On the next day, Sora and Hugh were next after Hilbert, Cheren, and Virgil had their matches.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now down to our second-to-last battle of the day! First off, we have Sora from Pallet Town, and we have Hugh from Aspertia City!" Freddy O'Martian announced. "This battle will be a battle of titans, but only one of these two young warriors will be moving on in the next round!" Sora and Hugh each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Eelektross!" Hugh called out. An Eelektross came out with a hiss as Sora took out his first Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Galvantula!" Sora called out. Galvantula emerged from inside as static electricity emits from his body.
"Sora has sent out Galvantula while Hugh has sent out Eelektross, both Electric Type Pokémon!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Eelektross! Start up with Flamethrower!" Hugh ordered. Eelektross fired Flamethrower right at Galvantula.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Galvantula ran to avoid Flamethrower. Eelektross missed its target, but kept firing Flamethrower. "Galvantula! Move in with Bug Bite!" Galvantula lands a bite onto Eelektross.
"Galvantula moves right in with that Bug Bite!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Eelektross! Use Crush Claw!" Hugh ordered. Eelektross swipes its claw on the elespider Pokémon.
"Eelektross makes good use of Crush Claw against Galvantula! It has taken a lot of damage from that attack!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora called back Galvantula and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Darmanitan!" Sora called out. Darmanitan came out, pounding his chest.
"Sora has sent out Darmanitan in place of Galvantula!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Darmanitan! Use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Darmanitan lands a Fire Punch onto Eelektross. "Use Flamethrower!" Darmanitan fires Flamethrower, engulfing Eelektross in flames. The elefish Pokémon, resulting in a knockout.
"Eelektross is unable to battle! Darmanitan wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead in this bout!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Hugh calls back his Eelektross and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Flygon!" Hugh called out. His Flygon came out, flapping its wings. "Flygon! Use Stone Edge!" Flygon unleashed Stone Edge right at the blazing Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Darmanitan jumped to dodge, but he got struck by the rocks, dealing some heavy damage.
"Now, use Dragon Claw!" Hugh ordered. Flygon swiped its claws at Darmanitan, dealing some more damage. Darmanitan got back up.
"Use Flame Charge!" Sora ordered. Darmanitan ran towards Flygon with Flame Charge.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw again!" Hugh ordered. Flygon dodges Darmanitan's Flame Charge and lands a hit with Dragon Claw. "Finish it with Stone Edge!" Flygon unleashed Stone Edge and delivered the finishing blow onto Darmanitan.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle! Flygon wins!" The referee announced.
"Hugh takes down one of Sora's Pokémon, leaving him two left as well!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Sora called back his Darmanitan. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Archeops!" Sora called out. Archeops came flying out.
"Now Sora has sent out an extinct Pokémon, Archeops!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Archeops! Use Dragon Breath!" Sora ordered. Archeops fired Dragon Breath right at Flygon.
"Dodge and use Fire Blast!" Hugh ordered. Flygon fired Fire Blast right at the archaeopteryx Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Dragon Breath again!" Sora ordered. Archeops dodges Flygon's Fire Blast and fired Dragon Breath right at Flygon, dealing some heavy damage.
"Archeops scores a direct hit with that Dragon Breath!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Archeops flew right at Flygon with Dragon Claw, dealing some heavy damage. "Now use Ancient Power!" Archeops unleashed Ancient Power and it gave Flygon a slam on the ground. "Dragon Breath!" Archeops gave one more Dragon Breath. Flygon had been taken down.
"Flygon is unable to battle! Archeops wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora defeats another one of Hugh's Pokémon! Which one will he send out next?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Hugh took out one more Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Bouffalant!" Hugh called out. Bouffalant came on out with a snort.
"Hugh's third and final Pokémon is his Bouffalant!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Bouffalant! Use Wild Charge!" Hugh ordered. Bouffalant charged right at Archeops with Wild Charge.
"Dodge it, quickly!" Sora called out. Bouffalant came too fast for Archeops to dodge, so he was struck by Wild Charge, dealing some heavy damage. Archeops was taken down.
"Archeops is unable to battle! Bouffalant wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has been sent back into a wall, and he it could be anyone's guess whose match it'll be!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora took out Galvantula's Pokéball and threw it.
"Back to action, Galvantula!" Sora called out. Galvantula came back out to battle.
"Bouffalant! Use Head Charge!" Hugh ordered. Bouffalant charged right at Galvantula with its charge attack.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Galvantula dodges just by jumping. Galvantula lands on his four legs. Bouffalant turns back around and charges right at the electric spider Pokémon.
"Use Signal Beam!" Sora ordered. Galvantula fired Signal Beam right at the bash buffalo Pokémon, landing a direct hit. "Now use Electro Web!" Galvantula fired Electro Web and tangles Bouffalant right inside it. Bouffalant tried to break out of it.
"Bouffalant is tangled up in Galvantula's Electro Web! Can it break out of it?!" Freddy O'Martian exclaimed. Bouffalant broke free of the webs. "Bouffalant is now free of Galvantula's Electro Web!"
"Head Charge again!" Hugh ordered. Bouffalant charged right at Galvantula again. Galvantula got hit hard, and suffered some recoil damage. Galvantula got back up on his four feet.
"Use Signal Beam again!" Sora ordered. Galvantula fired Signal Beam, dealing some damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Bouffalant is unable to battle! Galvantula wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced.
"And Sora moves right on the next round! We will move on with our next match as soon as we have the mess cleaned up!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
With that said, Sora and Hugh exited the battlefield at the same time.
"Great battle, Sora," Hugh said.
"You too, Hugh," Sora said. "You're a real hard contender."
"Right back at you, Sora," Hugh said, shaking hands.
Now that the three-on-three matches are over and done with, the full battles will son get started. Stay tuned if you want more excitement.
