"Teacher Cao," Ning Tian Cheng said. "You can't seriously think of sending us out!" If they were from such a prestigious academy then the education they received must have been very good. If they had contempt towards them, then it was definitely because of their own skill as well. The most likely possibility was that their spirit rank power was over rank 20.

"Oh, look at them so afraid, their ranks must not be very high," Cai Xiao Li remarked. A hand rested on her chin, as she put on a distressed appearance.

"Who cares how high their ranks are!?" The young girl said. "It's they who provoked us first! You sow what you reap!"

"We can fight 7 against 4," Said one of the other children. "That way it would be more fair,"

"Agreed," Cao Li Yang said. "Let us elders protect them from out spirit beasts,"

At that moment inside Star Dou Forest were 11 children. 4 of them were all wearing the same coloured clothing and were standing in a diamond formation. At the back was the fiery tempered young girl, Huo Wu. In front of her was a set of twins, Huo Yun and Huo Yu. At the front was Huo Wu's older brother as well as the strongest of the group, Huo Wu Shuang. On the opposing side were 7 other children. This was their first fight as well as one that happened almost instantly with barely any time to prepare. Quickly, they settled on a pencil-like formation. At the front was Qi Long while behind him on his left and right were Zu Que and Bai Shu respectively. On the third row was Dan Guo and Ning Tian Cheng, furthest behind was Gu Yan Ling and Lan Jing Hua.

Although she didn't have any spirit rings, Lan Jing Hua still found it important to participate. Cao Li Yang had once told her that a control system master was the soul of a team. It was important for the others to learn the facts about spirits and such that he imparted onto them, but for her it was ever the more crucial. She had a naturally gentle personality along with a perceptive mind; if she could try helping her team using this, it would definitely have benefits.

Situated around the children were the three teachers, making a sort of triangle shape around them. Cai Xiao Li smiled, and gave a wave of her hand. "We'll do this as normal spirit competitions and such. First, activate your spirits," Her tone was full of confidence. Being part of such an illustrious academy, but being spoken to like that - it was impossible to not have gotten a feeling of fury. However, she already knew the outcome of the match. It was most likely that these children weren't very high spirit masters, as well as that the own students she had helped fostered at the Blazing Academy were considered as generational talents. The reason they had come to Star Dou forest this time was to not only get her a spirit ring, but also a few of the children. Although, not all of them needed it, they had still found it better to bring along the eldest of them for more experience.

On the Blazing Academy's team, lights flared and three different spirits appeared. At the front, a flaming dragon appeared behind Huo Wu Shuang, his spirit Fire Dragon. For Huo Wu, a small human silhouette appeared behind her, her spirit Fire Shadow. As for Huo Yun and Huo Yu, they had the same spirit: Fire Crane. Along with the activation of spirits, came the arrival of 12 spirit rings. Each of them had what was considered a perfect spirit ring configuration: yellow, yellow, purple.

On their Little Village team, seven different spirits appeared. Qi Long's had a manifestation similar to Huo Wu Shuang's. It was a similar dragon only instead of red, it's colour was an appealing blue-green type of colour, while Huo Wu Shuang's spirit gave one the aura of power and radiance a dragon would emit, Qi Long's had moreover another feeling of elegance. Likewise for Zu Que, Bai Shu and Gu Yan Ling, a manifestation of their spirits appeared behind them. Instead of beast manifestations, Dan Guo, Lan Jing Hua, and Ning Tian Cheng had their spirits appearing in their hands. Although it had no abilities, Lan Jing Hua still activated her spirit, at the same time generating her spirit power. After all, this was her first fight, she wanted to take this as seriously as any fight in the future.

If the Blazing Academy could be considered confident before, then now, then what they felt at the moment could only be considered as unbridled arrogance. Although three of them had first-rate type spirits, respectively Dragon, Tiger, along with what they thought was Phoenix, and even if they had saw Ning Tian Cheng's spirit was, which at the moment was blocked as he was in the second row, their opinion on the victor of this fight hadn't changed at all. Not even all of them have a spirit ring! Huo Wu thought to herself, a sneer on her face. You will pay for the disrespect you made! To the side, Cai Xiao Li called out. "Start!"

At least half an hour later, one side was completely beaten while the other stood triumphant. Each Blazing Academy team member had a proud smile on their face along with their teacher. Cai Fu who hadn't spoken much since they arrived finally talked. "Ha," He sneered. "Just as expected. Cao Li Yang, I say you should teach your students better respect!"

Cao Li Yang gave a small smile. "Losing isn't shameful with such differences in terms of skill. I think they all did pretty well. As for my student's attitudes, please excuse the earlier insults."

"Teacher Cao!" Gu Yan Ling spoke up, but before she could continue Cai Fu had already begun his retort. "Hmph! Don't go crying to your teacher for everything. You being horrible students is all your fault for learning so poorly." He looked to the rest of them for a moment and asked. "What are your backgrounds, to have such spirits, it must be something simple,"

"Hmph," Gu Yan Ling said. "You scoundrel. At least that woman called him Mister Cao. Who do you think you are?! And now asking us about our own backgrounds!"

"What did you say?" Cai Fu said. "You brat, perhaps it's because of that lenient teacher of yours that you turned out this way. Why can't I call him as such? Let me tell you something, I was asking about your spirits as a favour! If that friend of yours has a good background, I could consider bringing her to our school. However, it seems you all want to be trash forever,"

"Who says we're trash?" Qi Long demanded. "We might have lost, but you shouldn't disrespect Teacher Cao!"

"Unmannerly brats!" Cai Fu said, immediately behind him a manifestation of a flaming monkey. This was his spirit Fire Monkey, appearing along with four spirit rings of perfect configuration. His third ring shone for a moment, but just as it was about to attack them, it instead hit another person who stood in the way. Cao Li Yang grabbed Cai Fu by the wrist after taking the attack the other released, a lot of his clothes being burnt. "Mister Cai, we have resolved today's argument. It would be unnecessary to start another, however, a Spirit Emperor attacking a couple of young children is something quite deplorable,"

"Y-You!"

"Enough," Cai Xiao Li said. "He's right, let's go back to the Academy. Though, if we meet again, we should have another fight." She gave a slight nod to Cao Li Yang then led her group away, her students still full of contempt, and her brother still filled with anger which he only spoke of after they were far enough from the Little Village Academy. "Sister, why did you let us leave? I ought to have taught those rascals a lesson!"

"You're too impulsive. Although they are low ranked from what we saw, they must still not be ordinary. Dragon, Phoenix, Tiger, Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, 4 first-rate spirits."

"Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda?" Huo Yu asked to the side. "I didn't see that spirit."

"That young boy's spirit was blocked by his teammates, but when you get older and meet more people, you'll definitely tell that the light he released had to be from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. Their teacher himself was suspicious, although he most likely would have retained injuries, I feel there's something off about him. For now, we don't need to worry too much, it seems he's a reasonable person. There is no a strong grudge between us, and as long as it doesn't grow, we could even cooperate with them in the future,"

"Cooperate with them?" Huo Wu gave a snort. "I wouldn't degrade myself like that."

Back in the forest, Cao Li Yang helped the children back up one by one. "Teacher Cao," Gu Yan Ling said, full of indignation. "How could we sit back and let them insult us, you, like that? Why didn't you beat them to a pulp? Look at us!"

"Yan Ling," Cao Li Yang said, dusting her off. "There will be countless disputes in life, if one takes even the smallest of insults to heart then where would one be? I promise you, that if it really came to it, I wouldn't have hesitated to fight them, however, in the future, I might not always be by the sides of all of you. There will be a period of time when we will all separate in order to grow and develop in our own ways. Right now, none of you have the strength, and that's fine as long as you try your best to get that strength,"

"By this, then we'll be in so much trouble," Qi Long said. "With Gu Yan Ling's personality, there's bound to be chaos,"

"Hmph, I'm not the only one!" Gu Yan Ling said. "Bai Shu, you really start more problems than me!"

"Hey, how can you pick on me!?"

They all chatted, and rested for a while before setting off again trying to find other spirit beasts. They continued on for over another week in which they found several spirit beasts suited for one of them. The need for Cao Li Yang's assistance was becoming less and less frequent. After precisely 2 and a half weeks time, several of them had spirit rings. Among them, the one who had her full spirit ring configuration at the moment were Qi Long, Zu Que and Dan Guo. Qi Long had confirmed that at the moment he was at rank 48, and had managed to get four spirit rings following the order of Yellow, Yellow, Purple, Black. Although, at first it was difficult to find only dragon related spirit beasts, the more they spent working on how to find them, the easier it became.

Besides Qi Long, Dan Guo had reached rank 31, and managed to get 3 spirit rings following Qi Long's order. As for Zu Que, she had reached rank 37, and also followed the order Cao Li Yang had set out for them, having two yellow, one purple, and two black spirit rings. Their limits were truly surprising to them! Next it was Gu Yan Ling, Ning Tian Cheng, and Bai Shu. All of them were missing one spirit ring before reaching the maximum amount they could absorb at the moment. Farthest behind was Lan Jing Hua who still didn't have a single spirit ring. However, although slightly anxious, she was unconcerned by this. Her spirit rank was only slightly over 20, so she could wait. She knew that Cao Li Yang must have had some sort of plan, and chose to believe in him.
