Episode 508: Sora vs Cheren
Shortly after the battle between Sora and Virgil, both trainers went to the Pokémon Center to have their entire teams healed up. Virgil went to the phone and called his father and brother.
"Hey, little brother. Dad and I were watching your match on TV," Davy said.
"I figured you would, Davy," Virgil said. "Just sorry I couldn't bring home the gold."
"That's not important, Virgil. What matters is, you did your best," Davy said.
"Your brother is right, Virgil," Jeff said, showing up. "Win or lose, you will always be a winner to us."
"Thanks, dad, Davy," Virgil said, letting their words sink in.
"Are you going to come on home since you're not competing anymore, son?" Jeff asked.
"I'm going to be home as soon as the tournament's over. That's if you can manage without me," Virgil said.
"No hurry, Virgil. Your brother and I will be okay without for a while," Jeff said.
With that said, Virgil hung up.
Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lillie, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon all celebrated Sora's victory.
"That was an amazing battle, Sora," Lillie said. "It feels just like the good ol' days when we were traveling around together."
"Thanks, Lillie. And I'm having that feeling, too. It kinda felt like Illima and the others were with us again."
"I was just thinking about them, too," Kairi said, smiling. "I have been wondering how they're doing since we last saw them back at the Wallace Cup."
"If you'd like, we could pay a visit to them in Alola," Lillie said. Sora and Kairi's faces lit up hearing that. They then looked at each other and smiled.
"Does that mean, on the way home, we can head for the Alola region? I never been there before," Ventus said.
"I have been wondering what it's like," Twilight said.
"Me too," Sandbar said.
"Okay, as soon as the tournament's over, we'll fly over to the Alola region to visit everyone. Will that be okay?" Sora asked.
"I for one would like to see the Alola region with my own eyes," Cilan said.
"Me too. It must be a nice place to visit," Iris said.
"Axew," Axew said.
"You sure, Cilan?" Kairi asked.
"Wouldn't your brothers need you back at the Gym?" Aqua asked.
"They made it this far without me, so they'll be fine. And if there was any trouble, I'm sure I would have heard from them by now," Cilan said.
"The only time there was trouble is when Chili came to Driftvile City when you were helping him teach his Pansear Solar Beam," Ventus said.
"I have been wondering how they were doing since then," Sora said.
Meanwhile aboard the Nemesis, Starscream has recovered from his injuries and scooped the red Energon from its hiding place.
"Hello, my beauty. Hello, hello. Did you miss me?" Starscream asked the red Energon as he chuckled evilly. "I might have failed to snuff out that Windblade's Spark, but at least Megatron is oblivious to your presence on this very ship. With the power of red Energon at my disposal, I can extinguish Megatron's Spark before he even knows what hits him. And with Megatron gone, I can finally take my rightful place as lord and master of the Decepticons. They will all have no choice to bow to me."
"Do you have a habit of talking to yourself, Starscream?" A new voice asked. He turned to see it is Knockout, while hiding the red Energon behind his back, out of Knockout's view. "You should really have yourself some friends."
"Knockout? How long have you been standing there?" Starscream asked.
"Oh, somewhere starting from failing to snuff out Windblade's Spark to the bowing to you part. I knew you were up to something; so I wanted to see for myself," Knockout said.
"And I suppose, you will tell Lord Megatron about this?" Starscream asked, showing him the red Energon to Knockout.
"Maybe I should, but where will the fun be in that? I mean, hoarding Energon for one's self is a treason-level offense in Decepticon law, but I figured you would use red Energon to boost up your strength and speed," Knockout said.
"And what do you plan to gain out of it since you know my secret?" Starscream asked.
"It's hardly a secret that you decided you wanted to lead the Decepticons ever since the war began back on Cybertron. But, if you do become leader after Megatron bites the big dust, you would need a second-in-command to help keep some Cons in line; especially if they're still loyal to Megatron after he's gone," Knockout said.
"And you want that position since you stumbled on my plot, I presume?" Starscream asked.
"Well, like I said, you will need a second-in-command. A Con you know you can trust," Knockout said.
"If you feel that way, then you are worthy for the job, then I know how to make good use for you, Knockout. But, keep it silence around everyone else, especially Soundwave. He sees and hears everything going on," Starscream said.
"Soundwave is the eyes and ears of the Decepticons," Knockout said.
"He's the eyes and ears of Megatron. So, every move that we make beyond this point will have to be planned very carefully," Starscream said.
"Agreed. And what of Shock Wave? We both know about your relationship with him," Knockout said. It is a known fact that Starscream has a hatred for Shock Wave, but the thing is, Shock Wave shares that hate to Starscream.
"You can leave him to me," Starscream said. "In the meantime, I am in need of your assistance. You will help process this red Energon for me. And do it discreetly."
"Of course," Knockout said. "But, it's going to take some cycles for me to get it done."
"Then, you can get started right now, good doctor," Starscream said. Knockout went to his lab to begin liquidating the red Energon. "I'll have to make my move a tad sooner than I originally planned. Knockout discovering my plan didn't help much, but if he becomes a problem, I'll have to take care of him."
Over to the Ark, Jetfire had just returned from patrol and he sighed as Warpath shows up.
"Find any of your old buddies yet, Jetfire?" Warpath asked.
"Why do you keep addressing them as my old buddies, Warpath? I have a feeling that you get a kick out of railing me up," Jetfire said.
"In case you forgotten, you were Megatron's second-in-command before you switched over to us. A lot of us had a hard time trusting you, and I still do," Warpath said. "I think Optimus is just has a soft spot that could be too soft even for him," Warpath said.
"Is there a point there, Warpath?" Jetfire asked. "If you're going to kill me, then just get it over with. On the other hand, I might end up killing you in self-defense."
"Or in cold blood, just like back on Cybertron," Warpath said.
"I don't care why you won't accept me. I don't care if you won't trust me. If I was going to crawl back to Megatron, and I won't, I would keep this place a secret.
"Oh, sure you would," Warpath said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"You will see, Warpath. And before you know it, you will feel even stupider than a Sharkticon," Jetfire said.
"I am hoping I was right about you. Optimus made a mistake letting you win, and all the others will see it," Warpath said, transforming into his tank mode and drove off. Jetfire scoffed at Warpath's words.
"Prepare to be disappointed, Warpath," Jetfire said.
Unknown to the both of them, Drift was listening on them. Apparently he knows what it is like to know mistrust from the ranks.
"What you are going through is what I know all too well," Drift said in his thoughts. Drift was formerly a Decepticon named Deadlock. Like Jetfire, he defected from the Decepticons and joined the Autobots. He saw there was no honorable future in tyranny and joined the Autobots, and changed his name to Drift.
Back in Unova, the remaining eight trainers, consisting of Sora, Hilbert, Nate, Cheren, Dino, and five other trainers were awaiting to see who were battling who in the semi-finals.
"And now, we are now down to eight trainers, so we shall see whom shall be battling whom in the semifinals of the Unova Pokémon League! And here we go!" Freddy O'Martian announced as the matchups were being decided. The trainers chosen to battle each other had been decided. Sora was battling Cheren in his next battle as Hilbert and Nate were right before him, and Dino was right after him. "And here they all are! The battles shall take place tomorrow morning!"
With that said, Sora turned to Cheren who looked right at him.
"Sora, I just want to know, I plan to give you everything I have," Cheren said.
"Thanks, so do I," Sora said. A little later, Sora exchanged Excadrill, Simisage, Simisear, Simipour, and Zoroark for Garbodor, Braviary, Volcarona, Klinklang, and Zebstrika. "That got that done. Cheren's going to be real tough. That battle with Virgil was a real doozy of a battle. He didn't mess around."
On the very next day, Sora and Cheren were set for their battle as soon as Hilbert and Nate had finished theirs.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now ready for our third battle! On my right, we have Cheren from Nuvema Town, and on my left is Sora from Pallet Town! This will be a battle to remember as these two young titans will be giving us a Wailord of a battle!" Freddy O'Martian announced. The crowd cheered on as Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lillie, Cilan, Iris, Eevee, Angel, Meowth, Axew, Azurill, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon were rooting for Sora in the battle.
"Go get him, Sora!" Pinkie and Silverstream cheered.
Sora and Cheren each took out a Pokéball and prepared to let out their Pokémon to battle. Cheren threw his Pokéball.
"Go! Swanna!" Cheren called out. His Swanna came out, flying in the air. Sora threw his Pokéball.
"Go! Zebstrika!" Sora called out. Zebstrika came out with a neigh.
"Cheren's first Pokémon is a Swanna, and Sora's first Pokémon is Zebstrika! Swanna is a huge disadvantage against Zebstrika since being a Water and Flying Type Pokémon against an Electric Type!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Swanna! Begin with Aqua Ring!" Cheren ordered. Swanna creates multiple rings of water around its body. "Now, use Wing Attack!" Swanna flew right at Zebstrika with Wing Attack.
"Zebstrika! Use Spark!" Sora ordered. Zebstrika charged right at Swanna and lands a hit on the white bird Pokémon.
"That was a heavy hit from Zebstrika's Spark! A super-effective hit!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Swanna then heals from its injuries. "And Swanna heals with the use of Aqua Ring!"
"Just like I said, hard from the get-go," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Looks like Cheren's not taking any chances with Sora in this battle," Cilan said. "I am curious what other spices Cheren is going to make in his recipe." Cilan stroked his chin.
"I'm thinking the same thing," Riku said.
"Flame Charge isn't going to do too much damage, so I'll try this instead," Sora said. "Zebstrika! Use Double Kick!" Zebstrika moved in with a Double Kick.
"Zebstrika is moving in with a Double Kick! Will it hit or will it miss?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Dodge and use Double Team!" Cheren ordered. Swanna has made several copies of itself as Zebstrika kicked one of them. The duplicate is struck and vanished.
"Zebstrika has missed its mark!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Wing Attack!" Cheren ordered. Swanna dove right at Zebstrika and landed a hit. Sora called back Zebstrika and took out another Pokéball.
"Sora is making change in Pokémon! Which one will he send out now?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Sora threw his Pokéball.
"Go! Garbodor!" Sora called out. Garbodor came on out to battle.
"Sora's second Pokémon is Garbodor! He must have something planned!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Toxic!" Sora ordered. Garbodor fires multiple globs of dark purple liquid from the pipes on his right hand.
"Dodge it!" Cheren called out. Swanna tried to dodge, but Garbodor successfully struck Swanna, poisoning the white bird Pokémon. "Swanna!"
"Swanna is badly poisoned! Swanna is going to keep taking damage even with Aqua Ring in effect!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Venoshock!" Sora ordered. Garbodor fired Venoshock, dealing some excessive damage on it.
"That must have been Sora's plan. Toxic to poison Swanna, and then use Venoshock to deal double the damage since his opponent is poisoned! Deliciously outstanding!" Cilan said.
"Even though I find Garbodor to be revolting and disgusting, but I must say it was a clever plan," Rarity said.
"Use Gunk Shot!" Sora ordered. Garbodor hurls Gunk Shot right at Swanna. The white bird Pokémon tried to dodge, but it got struck by the garbage. Swanna healed a bit, but hurt by the poisoning.
"It's not looking good for Swanna since that poisoning condition it's going through!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Swanna! Wing Attack!" Cheren ordered.
"Venoshock!" Sora ordered. Garbodor unleashed Venoshock before Swanna could make its move with Wing Attack. Swanna is dealt some heavy damage and fell on the ground, beaten.
"Swanna is unable to battle! Garbodor wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead as he takes out Swanna!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Cheren called back his Swanna. "Which one will be coming out next?"
"I have just the one!" Cheren said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Scrafty!" His Pokéball opened and Scrafty makes an entry.
"Cheren's second Pokémon is his Scrafty, a Dark Type and a Fighting Type! This should be an interesting matchup!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Garbodor! Use Toxic!" Sora ordered. Garbodor fired Toxic right at Scrafty. The hoodlum Pokémon was badly poisoned by Toxic.
"Scrafty has been badly poisoned by Garbodor's Toxic! It looks like it's going to be all over for Scrafty sooner than expected!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Scrafty! Use Fire Punch!" Cheren ordered. Scrafty ran right towards the trash heap Pokémon with its fists emitting fire.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Garbodor tried to dodge, but he was struck due to Scrafty's speed. Scrafty's body gave off a lime green aura and healed itself of its poisoning. Cheren grinned as Scrafty is no longer poisoned.
"What happened to Scrafty?" Starlight asked.
"Scrafty's ability has activated. It's Shed Skin," Terra said.
"Shed Skin?" Smolder asked.
"What's that?" Ocellus asked.
"Shed Skin is an ability that allows a Pokémon to heal itself of any status condition such as paralysis or poisoning," Terra explained. Sora called Garbodor back and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Braviary!" Sora called out. Braviary came right out, flying.
"Sora's third Pokémon is Braviary! A Flying Type Pokémon! A clear advantage over Scrafty!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Braviary! Use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Braviary dashed right towards Scrafty and dealt some heavy damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Scrafty is unable to battle! Braviary wins!" The referee announced.
"Braviary took out Scrafty with an outstanding Aerial Ace!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren called back his Scrafty and smiled.
"You battled well, Scrafty. Rest," Cheren said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Excadrill!" His Excadrill came out to battle.
"Cheren sends out his Excadrill next!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Sora called back Braviary and took out his next Pokéball. "Sora's also making a switch in his team!" He threw it.
"Go! Volcarona!" Sora called out as Volcarona came out with a twirl.
"Sora's fourth Pokémon is his Volcarona!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Volcarona has this in the bag since Volcarona is a Fire Type Pokémon," Lillie said.
"Let's see how this turns out," Tentomon said.
"Excadrill! Use Horn Drill!" Cheren ordered. Excadrill came at Volcarona with Horn Drill ready to go.
"Dodge and use Fiery Dance!" Sora ordered. Volcarona dodged and came at Excadrill with Fiery Dance, dealing some heavy damage. Cheren grinned as he called back his Excadrill.
"You walked right into my trap, Sora," Cheren said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Mandibuzz!" His Pokéball opened up, and his Mandibuzz is unleashed. Sora was surprised by the sudden switch. "Use Dual Wingbeat!" Mandibuzz pelts Volcarona with a couple of hits with her wings.
"Volcarona has taken a lot of damage with Manibuzz's Dual Wingbeat!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Cheren must have planned ahead of time," Twilight said.
"I was thinking the same thing. Excadrill was a decoy," Riku said.
"Vee," Eevee said.
"Now use Attract!" Cheren ordered as she unleashed Attract at the sun Pokémon. He fell in love with Mandibuzz.
"Looks like Attract has taken effect! Volcarona has fallen in love with Mandibuzz!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Now use Dark Pulse!" Cheren ordered. Mandibuzz unleashed Dark Pulse, hitting Volcarona. The fire moth Pokémon was now taken down.
"Volcarona is unable to battle! Mandibuzz wins!" The referee announced.
"Cheren has finally taken down one of Sora's Pokémon! Cheren might be making a comeback!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora called back Volcarona and took out Zebstrika's Pokéball and threw it.
"Zebstrika! Back to action!" Sora called out. Zebstrika came back out to battle.
"Zebstrika is sent back out to battle! Will Zebstrika be able to hold up even with a Type advantage?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"I knew he was going to send one of his Electric Types out; especially when they're all males. Mandibuzz! Use Attract!" Cheren ordered. Mandibuzz unleashed Attract, and it struck Zebstrika, making him fall in love with Mandibuzz just like Volcarona.
"This isn't good. Most of Sora's Pokémon are males, making them easy targets for Mandibuzz's Attract," Cilan said.
"And what does that to have anything to do with anything?" Gallus asked.
"Attract is a non-damaging move that can affect Pokémon of the opposite sex, depending on which gender the user is," Kairi said.
"I get it. If the Pokémon are males, then it'll affect females, and vice-versa," Ocellus said.
"Exactly, Ocellus," Cilan said.
"Zebstrika! Use Shock Wave!" Sora ordered. Zebstrika was too immobilized by love to attack.
"Mandibuzz! Use Dark Pulse!" Cheren ordered. Mandibuzz unleashed Dark Pulse and struck Zebstrika hard. Zebstrika had been taken down.
"Zebstrika is unable to battle! Mandibuzz wins!" The referee announced.
"And now Sora is now down to four Pokémon at his disposal! Cheren is making a pretty big push back!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Sora called back Zebstrika.
"I knew Cheren was going to ante-up his game, and he's doing a better job at it than I thought. Pikachu, Garbodor, and Braviary are all boys," Sora said in his thoughts as he suddenly remembered something. "Wait! Klinklang isn't a boy or a girl. Gotta go with this," Sora said in his thoughts taking out Klinklang's Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Klinklang!" Sora called out. Klinklang came on out to battle.
"Sora's Klinklang makes an appearance in this battle!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"I knew he was going to find a way around Mandibuzz's Attract sooner or later. I'd expect no less of you, Sora," Cheren said.
"He's using Klinklang against Mandibuzz?" Gatomon asked.
"I get it. It's because Klinklang are genderless Pokémon, so Attract won't work on it!" Aqua said.
"Exactly. I remember seeing that move," Lillie said.
"I do too," Kairi said. "Meltan is a genderless Pokémon, something we all found out after we discovered it."
"Mandibuzz! Use Dark Pulse!" Cheren ordered. Mandibuzz fired Dark Pulse right at Klinklang.
"Klinklang! Dodge and use Flash Cannon! Full power!" Sora ordered. Klinklang dodged Dark Pulse and lands a powerful hit onto her. Mandibuzz has taken heavy damage. "Use Charge Beam!" Klinklang fired Charge Beam, striking Mandibuzz, earning a knockout.
"Mandibuzz is unable to battle! Klinklang wins!" The referee announced.
"Mandibuzz must have been part of Cheren's strategy to use Attract on Sora's Pokémon, and that plan backfired in a big way!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren called Mandibuzz back and smiled.
"You battled well, Mandibuzz. Rest," Cheren said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Serperior!" His Pokéball opened and his Serperior came on out. Sora called Klinklang back and took out Braviary's Pokéball.
"Braviary! Back to action!" Sora called out. Braviary returns to the battlefield, ready to go.
"Braviary makes a return to the battlefield, ready to rumble! Sora has made a great choice in sending a Flying Type against a Grass Type!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Braviary! Use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered.
"Dodge and use Wrap!" Cheren ordered. Serperior dodges Braviary's Wing Attack, and wraps around Braviary's body. Serperior started to squeeze around his body tightly.
"Braviary! Try to shake Serperior off of you!" Sora called out. Braviary tried to fly around the battlefield, trying to get Serperior off of him.
"It looks like Braviary is trying to shake Serperior off by flying around the battlefield!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Serperior! Keep holding on!" Cheren called out. Serperior kept holding on, but he loses his grip and fell off. Cheren quickly called Serperior back.
"Cheren must have realized Serperior wasn't a good choice to go against Braviary! Could he have a new plan?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Cheren took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Haxorus!" Cheren called out. Stars swirls around his Haxorus upon entry. His Haxorus is black, while its axe-blade tusks, claws are crimson.
"And Cheren's sixth Pokémon is his Haxorus! A Shiny Haxorus to be exact!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Draco Meteor!" Cheren ordered. Haxorus unleashed Draco Meteor in the sky, and then it came raining down.
"Braviary! Try to dodge it! Hurry!" Sora called out. Braviary tried to dodge, but he was quickly hit by the crashing meteors. Braviary was then brought down extremely hard.
"Braviary is unable to battle! Haxorus wins!" The referee announced.
"Haxorus took down Braviary without a problem with that Draco Meteor! Now Sora is down to three remaining!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora called back Braviary and took out Garbodor's Pokéball and threw it.
"Garbodor! Back to action!" Sora called out. Garbodor emerged from inside the Pokéball, ready to go.
"Garbodor is sent back out to battle against Cheren's team!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren called back Haxorus and took out Excadrill's Pokéball and threw it. "Cheren is also making a change in Pokémon!"
"Go! Excadrill!" Cheren called out. Excadrill came out with its claws spreading out.
"And Excadrill is sent back out to play!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"This isn't good. Excadrill is a Ground Type and a Steel Type. Garbodor's Poison Type attacks won't work on Excadrill," Kairi said.
"Horn Drill!" Cheren ordered. Excadrill came at Garbodor fast and lands a Horn Drill onto Garbodor, resulting in an instant knockout.
"Garbodor is unable to battle! Excadrill wins!" The referee announced.
"And now Sora is down to two Pokémon remaining!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora called back his Garbodor and he took out his next Pokéball. Just when he was about to throw it, Pikachu stopped him.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Huh? Pikachu? You want to battle?" Sora asked in surprise.
"Pi," Pikachu nodded. Sora saw how serious the mouse Pokémon was being.
"Okay, I'm sending you in. But, your electricity won't even make Excadrill flinch," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said, knowing he is right.
"Just when things get hairy, I'm going to switch you with Klinklang. Go for it," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said, entering the battlefield.
"I don't believe what I am seeing, ladies and gentlemen, but it looks like Sora is sending in Pikachu to battle Excadrill! Clearly he knows Electric Type moves will have no effect on a Ground Type Pokémon, so what is he up to?!" Freddy O'Martian exclaimed.
"Excadrill! Horn Drill!" Cheren ordered. Excadrill came right at the mouse Pokémon with Horn Drill.
"Here comes Excadrill with Horn Drill! And when it hits, then it'll be all over!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Pikachu waited for Excadrill to get closer. Pikachu dodged at the last second. "And what a dodge! Pikachu's speed has nothing on Excadrill's Horn Drill!" Pikachu stopped in his tracks.
"Metal Claw!" Cheren ordered. Excadrill came right at Pikachu with Metal Claw. Excadrill kept swiping its claws at Pikachu, but kept on dodging from left to right.
"Pikachu's speed is making it harder and harder for Excadrill to land a hit!" Freddy O'Martian announced as Excadrill was now panting.
"Excadrill! Use Dig!" Cheren ordered. Excadrill dug in the earth.
"Be on your toes, Pikachu! Excadrill can pop up from anywhere!" Sora called out. Pikachu nodded as Excadrill came jumping out of the ground, ready to go. "Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Pikachu swung his tail and struck the mole-like Pokémon hard. Excadrill was sent flying towards the wall. Excadrill struck the wall and slid down, beaten.
"Excadrill is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"Excadrill was beaten by an Electric Type Pokémon! Talking about a real upset for Cheren!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren called back his fallen Excadrill and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Beartic!" Cheren called out. His Beartic came on out. His Beartic gave off a loud and powerful roar.
"Cheren's sixth Pokémon is his Beartic!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Pikachu, you still good to go?" Sora asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu answered.
"Go for it!" Sora said. Pikachu got ready for the fight against the polar bear Pokémon.
"Beartic! Use Slash!" Cheren ordered. Beartic came right at Pikachu with Slash.
"Dodge and use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodged Beartic's Slash and dashed right into Beartic's belly. Beartic wheezed a bit. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt. Beartic felt an amount of damage and Beartic was still standing.
"Beartic has taken some damage, but it's still standing on it's feet!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Beartic! Ice Punch!" Cheren ordered. Beartic came right at Pikachu with Ice Punch.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Pikachu tried to dodge, but he was struck hard by Ice Punch. "Pikachu!"
"Use Slash!" Cheren ordered. Beartic came at Pikachu again and slashed Pikachu. "Now use Use Fang!" Beartic came right at the mouse Pokémon with Ice Fang.
"Dodge and use Electro Web!" Sora ordered. Pikachu formed Electro Web right at Beartic and tangles it inside it. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings his tail and lands a hit onto Beartic with Iron Tail, dealing some heavy damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Beartic is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"Both Sora and Cheren is now down to two Pokémon remaining! It's only a matter of whose battle it's going to be!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren called back Beartic and took out his Haxorus's Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Haxorus!" Cheren called out. Haxorus came out with a swirl of stars around them. "Haxorus! Use Dragon Claw!" Haxorus came right at Pikachu with Dragon Claw.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodged and swung his tail with Iron Tail.
"Block it!" Cheren called out. Haxorus blocked with its axe jaw tusk.
"Haxorus blocked with its tusks!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Use Dragon Tail!" Cheren ordered. Haxorus swung its tail and struck Pikachu on the spot. Pikachu was then knocked out.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Haxorus wins!" The referee announced.
"And now Sora is down to one Pokémon remaining!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Sora went to pick up Pikachu.
"You okay, buddy?" Sora asked.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"You should take a rest for now," Sora said. He took out Klinklang's Pokéball and threw it. "Klinklang! Back to action!" Klinklang came back out to battle.
"Klinklang came back out to battle! Will Klinklang last much longer while out there?" Freddy O'Martian asked.
"Klinklang! Use Gear Grind!" Sora ordered. Klinklang attacked with Gear Grind.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Cheren ordered. Haxorus dodged came right at the gear Pokémon with Dragon Claw.
"Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Klinklang fired Flash Cannon right at Haxorus and lands a heavy blow. Haxorus barely got back up on its feet.
"Haxorus is still holding on after that Flash Cannon!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Charge Beam! Full power!" Sora ordered. Klinklang fired a real powerful Charge Beam and resulted in an explosion. The smoke cleared and Haxorus fell on the ground, beaten.
"Haxorus is unable to battle! Klinklang wins!" The referee announced.
"Now both trainers are down to one Pokémon at their disposal, and it could go either way! Which way will it go, we will find out!" Freddy O'Martian announced. Cheren called back Haxorus and took out his Serperior's Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Serperior!" Cheren called out. His Serperior came back out to battle.
"Serperior is sent back out to battle! Will Serperior be able to beat Klinklang despite being a Grass Type against a Steel Type, or will it be the other way around? That's what we're gonna find out!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Leaf Blade!" Cheren ordered. Serperior swung at Serperior with Leaf Blade.
"Gear Grind!" Sora ordered. Klinklang unleashed Gear Grind to block Leaf Blade. Both clashed their attacks at one another.
"Serperior and Klinklang are giving it all they've got with those attacks! Which one will give in first?" Freddy O'Martian asked. Both Pokémon overpowered each other.
"Use Solar Beam!" Cheren ordered. Serperior began to charge up with solar energy.
"Use Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered.
Serperior and Klinklang fired their attacks at each other and resulted in an explosion. Both Pokémon has taken some heavy damage. They're both breathing heavily due to exhaustion.
"Both Pokémon have taken some heavy damage, so any one of them is going down for the count!" Freddy O'Martian announced.
"Leaf Blade!" Cheren ordered.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Sora ordered. Klinklang fired Hyper Beam right at Serperior and caused some heavy damage. Serperior was now down and out.
"Serperior is unable to battle! Klinklang wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced.
"And Sora now makes it as one of the top four of the Unova Pokémon League!" Freddy O'Martian announced as the crowd cheered. Both trainers shook hands.
"Congratulations, Sora. You have earned the title of Champion for a reason," Cheren said.
"Thanks. I have to admit, you almost had me," Sora said.
Now that the battle with Cheren has concluded, Sora just have to make it all the way to the final round. Stay tuned if you wanna see how it'll go.
I was originally going to make two battles in this chapter, but decided against it. So, the battle against Nate will be the next one, promise! Anyway, I'll be cutting it short for right now. Till then, peace out.
