Episode 512: More Than Meets the Eye Part 1
After arriving in Pallet Town, both of Sora and Kairi's families and friends are gathering around for dinner to celebrate their return.
"You sure it's okay for you to invite us?" Twilight asked Delia.
"Think nothing of it, Twilight. The other Twilight was such a sweetheart. So, you're more than welcome," Delia said.
"And I am hoping to have that special cake Pinkie is baking for us," Gabumon said.
"And we shall dig in real soon," Gomamon said. Mirei sat down as she felt something.
"Oh no, not now," Mirei said. Yuta looked at his wife.
"Mirei, what's the matter?" Yuta asked with concern.
"It's time!" Mirei said.
"It's time?!" Yuta exclaimed. "Good thing I practiced! Delia, call the hospital!"
"On it!" Delia said.
"Sora, Kairi, I'm going to need a hand," Yuta said.
"You can count on us, dad," Kairi said. Cilan stepped right out.
"What is going on out there?" Cilan asked.
"The baby's coming," Karen said.
"Such an unexpected turn of event, and we just arrived," Cilan said.
"Mirei, start breathing," Yuta said.
Everyone got Mirei to the hospital as Mirei kept breathing. The doctor and nurse arrived on the scene and brought a wheelchair.
"We'll get her to the birthing room immediately!" The doctor ordered.
"Yuta, stay with me," Mirei said.
"I'm not going anywhere," Yuta vowed. Sora sighed as he hung his head.
"So much for Cilan's special meal," Sora said. "Anyone in a mood for pizza?"
"I could use a slice," Veemon said.
Kairi was waiting anxiously to meet her new baby brother as Sora stayed by her side the whole time. Everyone did their own thing as they passed the time. Several hours have passed as Yuta came out with a smile on his face.
"Dad, is mom-" Kairi was cut off by Yuta's hand.
"Your mom's just fine. She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy," Yuta said. Kairi took her father's hand as she and her grandmother joined him as they went down to the room Mirei was staying in. Kairi and her family entered the room as Mirei was holding a newborn baby boy in her arms.
"Kairi, meet your new brother, Seth," Mirei said. Kairi took her new brother in her arms very gently. She smiled at the newborn baby as he looked right at his new sister.
"Hi there. I'm your big sister. It's nice to meet you," Kairi said. Seth smiled as he made his baby sounds. Kairi's grandmother was very proud.
"My goodness, he is beautiful," Kairi's grandmother said.
"He sure is," Kairi said. The nurse stepped in.
"Now that the family has seen the baby, I think everyone should clear out," the nurse said.
"Sure," Kairi said, handing the baby back to her mom. "I'll see you later, Seth, okay?" She gave her new brother a kiss on the forehead and stepped out with her grandmother. She looked at her granddaughter and smiled as she remembered Kairi's birth like it was yesterday.
A couple of days have passed as Mirei and Seth were cleared to check out as Mirei has brought Seth home. Kairi was happy to have new brother home as she helped out taking care of the baby. She managed to stop him from crying by rubbing his back like Mirei did. Sora came by with some flowers for his girlfriend.
"Hey, Kairi," Sora said, kissing his girlfriend on the check.
"Hi, Sora," Kairi said. He handed her the flowers. "These are pretty. You're sweet." She kissed him back. Sora turned to her boyfriend's little brother and smiled.
"Hey there, little guy. Good seeing you again," Sora said. Seth babbbled as he started to pull Sora's hair. "Ouch! That hurts!" Kairi gently stopped her brother from pulling his hair.
"No, no, no. We don't pull people's hair, Seth. It's not nice," Kairi said. Sora rubbed his head.
"Ooh, I hope Yuki doesn't do that to me when I see her again," Sora said.
"Seth must really like you if he's pulling your hair," Kairi said.
"He might not know his own strength," Sora said. "Anyway, I was wondering if you're up to seeing Cilan and Iris take off?"
"Take off? To where?" Kairi asked.
"They're heading to the Johto region by magnet train. I thought we would see them off in Vermillion City," Sora said.
"I would like to come with you, Sora. I was finished with their gifts anyway," Kairi said, showing him the freshly made Wayfinders. One is green and has a bow tie as the other one is purple and small dragons on it.
"I figured you had those finished by now. Ven, Terra, and Aqua will meet us there. Same with Karen," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Axew, and Blossom, all made their way to Vermillion City as the Young Six were helping out Yuta in the backyard. The Digimon were with Sora and Kairi's Pokémon in Professor Oak's lab as each of the Mane Six did their thing. The Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon said their goodbyes to Cilan and Iris as they left.
In Vermillion City, Bumblebee, Hot Rod, and Arcee, were just arriving on in Vermillion City in vehicle mode. They were on a mission to spot any Decepticons or some Energon.
Upon arriving in Vermillion City, Cilan and Iris stood before their friends, ready to depart. Ventus, Terra, and Aqua had also arrived with their respectful partners.
"Are you sure you wanna go, guys?" Sora asked.
"It's been loads of fun to travel with you, but we have other goals to get to," Iris said.
"I plan on participating in a fishing competition being held in Johto before I return to Striaton City," Cilan said.
"And I am heading to Blackthron City to challenge the Gym Leader there," Iris stated.
"Axew," Axew said.
"We just wish we could travel together a little longer," Iris said.
"We understand," Terra said.
"So, before you go, I have a present for each of you," Kairi said, handing them each a Wayfinder. They take one each.
"What is it?" Iris asked.
"It's a Wayfinder. Legend says that our destinies are intertwined as long as you have one. We're never truly apart," Kairi said.
"An appropriate gift," Cilan said, smiling.
"I know I would never forget you," Iris said.
"Good luck on your way," Sora said.
"Same to you," Cilan said. "Until we meet again."
With that said, Cilan and Iris entered the train and they waved to their friends as the train was taking off. The group waved back at them. Sora smiled as he knew a bright future was ahead of them.
"Good luck, guys," Sora said.
Over to the Autobots, they drove through the streets of Vermillion City, and so far, they found nothing out of the ordinary.
"I got nothing here," Bumblebee said. "What about the rest of you?"
"Nothing," all the other Autobots said.
Bumblebee sighed, "Thought it would be too easy." He kept driving.
Elsewhere in Vermillion City, several Vehicons all had their vehicle mode as purple automobiles. They were searching for any signs of Autobots.
"Have encountered any Autobots?" Starscream asked through the communicator.
"Negative, Commander Starscream," the leading Vehicon replied.
"Then keep searching. The longer the Autobots live, the more crucial our ambitions become," Starscream said.
"Understood," the leading Vehicon said.
The Vehicons searched for the Autobots.
Elsewhere in Vermillion City, the Autobots drove by Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were walking by when Sora suddenly sensed something.
"What the?" Sora asked himself.
"Sora, what's wrong?" Karen asked.
"I thought I felt something just now. It felt like it just went by us," Sora said.
"What do you mean?" Terra asked.
"I'm not even sure if there's a right way to explain it," Sora said.
"What did you feel exactly?" Kairi asked.
"It felt like something, or rather someone just went by us. Something not human," Sora said.
"You mean a Pokémon just went by us?" Ventus asked.
"Pika," Sparky said.
"It wasn't a Pokémon either. I don't know what it was," Sora said.
"You think it might something from alternate dimension?" Aqua asked.
"Or a Digimon?" Meowth asked.
"I hope not," Sora said. "And if it is, we can't let it slip by us." With that said, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair started their search. The Vehicons drove by Sora as he sensed them again. He looked at the strange vehicles and he saw that they each had an aura. "No way. It can't be."
Bumblebee, Arcee, and Hot Rod kept driving as Bumblebee picked up something. They all had Decepticon signals.
"Hot Rod, Arcee, I got Con signals. They're closing in on us," Bumblebee said.
"They must have picked up on our signals, same as we can pick them up," Arcee said.
"It looks like it's a fight we can't avoid," Hot Rod said.
"You're not serious, are you?" Arcee asked.
"We're out numbered, so we might last long in a fight with them," Bumblebee added.
"If you got a better idea, then I'm open," Hot Rod said. The Vehicons were closing in on the Autobots. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair followed the Vehicons.
"Okay, why are we following some cars around?" Meowth asked.
"It sounds nuts, but I saw that they all had an aura," Sora said.
"Cars with auras?" Karen asked. "I thought that can only pick up living things."
"So did I. But they have 'em, and we have to see what it is," Sora said.
Bumblebee, Hot Rod, and Arcee led the Vehicons to a spot where they can transform to robot mode. The Vehicons transform to robot mode as well.
"Come get some, Cons," Hot Rod said. The Vehicons open fire on the Autobots as Arcee and Bumblebee fired back. Hot Rod rolled out of the way and he fired at one, striking him in the shoulder. The Vehicons kept on firing at the Autobots.
Hearing the commotion, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair went to see what it is, and they were all wide-eyed to what they saw.
"What the world?!" Sora exclaimed in shock.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Meowth asked.
"We are," Karen said.
Hot Rod grabbed on and punched the Vehicon in the face repeatedly.
"This! Is! For! Kup!" Hot Rod shouted from each punch. Another Vehicon threw Hot Rod off, and aimed at him. Bumblebee shot at him before he could shoot him. "Thanks, Bee."
"Don't thank me yet," Bumblebee said.
Arcee was struck by one of the Vehicons.
"Arcee!" Hot Rod exclaimed. The Vehicon that shot her aimed at her when Hot Rod punched his head clean off. Another Vehicon was about to fire when Jazz in vehicle mode drove in and rammed him down.
"Where did that car come from?" Terra asked. Sora saw that the car had the same kind of aura as the Vehicons. Jazz transformed into robot mode and he fired at a few of them. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair were surprised by how the car turned into a robot.
"Cars that turn into giant robots. That's a new one for me," Sora said.
One of the Vehicons came right at Jazz when Pikachu gave a Thunderbolt right at the back, striking him. This caught the attention of the Autobots. They saw the humans and Pokémon standing and watching.
"Scrap," Bumblebee said.
"Bad move, buddy," Sora said. The Vehicons set their sights on them as they went for them. "Uh oh." Hot Rod tackled him and gave him a toss. The Vehicons were about to fight back as Ironhide, Cliffjumper, and Prowl arrived. The Vehicons transformed back to vehicle mode and retreated.
"Go and run, you wastes of Sparks!" Ironhide yelled after them.
"Good timing, guys," Arcee said.
"What took you?" Bumbleebee asked.
"Traffic," Cliffjumper said.
"Bots, what do we do about them?" Jazz asked. Ironhide, Cliffjumper, and Prowl noticed them and approached them.
"These must be the local inhabitants of the planet," Cliffjumper said.
"Careful, Cliffjumper, they might be hostile," Prowl warned the red Autobot.
"They don't look hostile to me," Ironhide said.
"You should have been here earlier, because one of them zapped that one Con," Bumblebee said.
"That was his handy work," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"What are you?" Sora asked.
"Nothing you need to worry about. Forget you saw us," Jazz said.
He and the other Autobots transformed into vehicle mode and drove off.
"What was that about?" Meowth asked.
"I don't know, but something big might be happening if giant robots turning into cars showing up," Sora said. "We should let Twilight, Agumon, and the others know about this." He looked at Ventus. "And I'm going to tell you to keep it a secret from your parents, Ven."
"I don't think my parents would believe this. And I should be home by dinner anyway," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"And we shall go," Terra said.
"Chu," Thor said.
"Okay. We'll meet up again soon," Sora said.
With that said, they all started to head for home, unaware that Laserbeak and Squawktalk were spying on them. Laserbeak flew to follow Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom as Squawktalk flew to follow Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair.
Over to the Ark, Jazz went to report to Optimus about the incident in Vermillion City.
"Optimus, we need to talk," Jazz said.
"What do you have to report?" Optimus asked.
"We bumped into the Cons. Hot Rod, Bee, and Arcee were engaging them. It would have been bad for them if Cliff, Prowl, Ironhide and I haven't shown up in time. But that's not all," Jazz said.
"There's more?" Optimus asked.
"We had a run-in with some of the planet's locals. We told them to forget they saw us," Jazz said. Optimus looked at his first lieutenant and he sighed.
"It is just as I feared," Optimus said.
"I'm not following, Optimus," Jazz said. "We're going to be okay as long as the locals don't tell anyone about us being here."
"Our coverage is irrelevant. If the local inhabitants have learned of our existence, then they are in danger as well. How many of them?" Optimus asked.
"Six. And they had other lifeforms with them as well," Jazz said.
"We must protect them at all costs. I fear Megatron may have learned of them by now," Optimus said.
"Why would the safety of the locals mean anything, Optimus? Not saying you're wrong. Don't misread me, but I just don't get it," Jazz said.
"As you know, Cybertron has been rendered a lifeless, uninhabitable world, caused by centuries of war. Many of our brothers and sisters have perished, fighting for a common cause, be they Decepticon or Autobot. It is a tragedy that we cannot allow to befall this or any planet," Optimus said. Jazz looked right at the Autobot leader. "To answer your question, Jazz, anyone who seem to be an ally will be in grave danger, and an attack from the Decepticons will be imminent." Jazz had to admit, Optimus was right. The human race and their Pokémon friends will be at risk if the Decepticons hears about them.
Over to the mansion in Pallet Town, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon were all sharing the place as Sora, Kairi, and Karen were telling them what they saw.
"You saw what exactly?" Twilight asked.
"Cars that can turn into robots, or the other way around," Sora said.
"Those wouldn't be Digimon, would they?" Meowth asked.
"Not any I have ever seen," Gatomon said.
"Why would they be fighting each other?" Sandbar asked.
"Not exactly sure. One of them saved us from one coming at us, and tossed him like a Throh, throwing a sack of potatoes," Sora said.
"And I think if they were going to kill us, they would have already done so," Kairi said.
"The ones who helped you sound like they're nice," Silverstream said.
"As if! Why would they tell you to forget you saw them then?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Rainbow's got a point there," Veemon said. "They might have something nasty planned."
"You think they were made by Team Shadow?" Karen asked.
"I don't think so. They all had an aura. And that's what weird about those robots, because they shouldn't have any aura, because they're not technically alive," Sora said.
"Well, they seem rather lively to me," Meowth said.
"What exactly are they?" Karen asked.
"And in the hay do they want?" Applejack asked.
"I don't know, but we have a storm approaching. It was calm since Team Shadow, Grogar, Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow became our problem, but now our problems have gotten a whole lot bigger," Sora said.
"Oh dear," Fluttershy said, shivinering.
"This is exactly what I was worried about," Twilight said.
Unknown to any of them, Laserbeak was spying on them from outside. He flew off the window he was looking at and started to make his way back.
Over in Porta Vista, Yuki had her face and highchair covered in baby food. Cattleya thought it was so adorable, she had to get a picture. Yuki blinked as the flash was very bright. Cattleya had cleaned up the mess the baby had made.
"Bathtime, little one," Cattleya said, picking up her daughter to the bathroom. Ventus and Sparky had just come home just in time for mother and daughter to have a bath.
"Mom, I'm home!" Ventus announced.
"Were you able to see your friends off, honey?" Cattleya called from the bathroom. Ventus looked at Sparky as the youngest Pikachu reminded him by what Sora said to him.
"Yeah. Cilan and Iris have taken off," Ventus said.
"Good. Your dad called. He's going to be working late, so it's just the three of us tonight," Cattleya said.
"Pika!" Sparky said. Cattleya giggled.
"Okay, four," Cattleya said, counting Sparky.
"What are we having?" Ventus asked.
"I'm making some spicy ramen tonight. I know you like yours extra spicy," Cattleya said. Ventus liked how spicy it came out. Unaware, Squawktalk followed Ventus and Sparky to the house.
On the next day, Sora and Kairi went back to their daily routine at home before familiar vehicles drove up to Sora and Kairi. It was Bumblebee, Hot Rod, and Arcee.
"Again?" Meowth asked.
"Okay, if you're here to check up if we told anyone else, just know that your secret is safe," Sora said.
"Didn't come here for that," Hot Rod said, before transforming. Arcee and Bumblebee did the same thing. "Our leader sent us to retrieve you."
"Why?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee?" Angel asked.
"It's about your own safety. About what you saw yesterday is why we're here," Arcee said.
"So, we would have to ask you to come along with us," Bumblebee said.
Sora looked into their aura and he had to consider what they had to say. Over to Porta Vista, Ironhide drove to Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair in vehicle mode. His side door opened.
"Get in," Ironhide said.
Not needing further convincing, they complied with the Autobot as he drove off.
Bumblebee, Hot Rod, and Arcee arrived to the Ark as Ironhide drove up behind them through a ground bridge. They entered the ruined ship as they saw more of the Autobots. They all stepped out allowing the Autobots to transform.
"Are they the ones?" Red Alert asked.
"They are," Prowl said.
"You probably have a lot of questions for us," Jazz said.
"Yeah. Just who and what are you? And where did you come from?" Sora asked.
"And who built you?" Meowth asked.
"Built us?" Gears asked.
"That one isn't serious, is it?" Trailbreaker asked.
Optimus approach the small group and bent down to their level.
"We are autonomous robotic organisms from the far-off planet called Cybertron. We are Autobots," Optimus said.
"Autobots? Cybertron?" Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and Meowth asked in synchronization.
"Yes. I am Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. You are already familiar with Jazz. He is my first lieutenant," Optimus introduced.
"What up?" Jazz asked.
"And you are also familiar with Bumblebee, Hot Rod, Arcee, Cliffjumper, Prowl, and Ironhide," Optimus said.
"Hey," Sora could only say.
"Pi," Pikachu added.
"Allow me to introduce you to Ratchet, our medical officer," Optimus said.
"You're even tinier than I was expecting," Ratchet said.
"Our intelligence officer, Perceptor," Optimus said.
"Greetings," Perceptor greeted.
"Our communications expert, Blaster," Optimus said.
"What's happening there?" Blaster asked as his Mini-Cons looked at them.
"And those are his Mini-Cons. Eject, Rewind, Steeljaw, Ramhorm, Stripes, Nightstalker, Dile, Zaur, Noise, and Graphy," Optimus said.
"Mini-Cons?" Sora asked.
"And the rest. Wheeljack, Trailbreaker, Sideswipe, Hound, Huffer, Bluestreak, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Brawn, Gears, Hauler, Windcharger, Grapple, Hoist, Tracks, Powerglide, Red Alert, Inferno, Smokescreen, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Warpath, Cosmos, Blurr, Skids, Drift, Bulkhead, Jetfire, and Windblade," Optimus introduced. "And you are?"
"I'm Sora."
"I'm Kairi."
"Ventus, but call me Ven."
"I'm Terra."
"My name's Aqua."
"I'm Karen."
"And I'm Meowth. So that the introductions are out of the way, what about those other bots, that were about to blast us?" Meowth asked.
"You refer to the Decepticons, our sworn enemies," Optimus said.
"Decepticons? Why are they here? And why are you here?" Sora asked.
"A fair question, Sora. We are fighting a war against the Decepticons. Millions of Stellar cycles ago, our planet was full of life. All lived together in peace. Alas, peace did not last on Cybertron. The Decepticons changed everything when they have launched their attack. We were all divided as Autobots and Decepticons. Megatron led this campaign to conquer Cybertron until it was rendered a lifeless planet," Optimus explained.
"Megatron?" Sora asked.
"Who's he?" Karen asked.
"Megatron is the lord and master of the Decepticons," Optimus said. "Many of our Autobot brothers and sisters were wiped out during the war, fighting for the Cybertron they believed in as the Decepticons have suffered the same loss for the Cybertron in Megatron's image."
Sora remembered the war the Digimon were fighting, and he knew how bad it was if their war reached earth.
"What does Megatron want?" Sora asked.
"He wants complete control over the supply of Energon, the lifeblood and fuel for all Cybertronians, Autobot and Decepticon alike. He is also in search for the AllSpark. The AllSpark is what grants life to all Cybertronians. It is essential that we find it before Megatron and his forces do," Optimus said.
"How did you get here?" Ventus asked.
"We were searching for the AllSpark when Megatron has learned of our plan to search for it. His ship followed ours and launched his attack just when we were reaching your planet. The Decepticon ship, the Nemesis fired upon us, and we responded in kind. Our ship has taken tremendous damage and we came crashing down. That was ten thousand stellar cycles ago," Optimus said.
"That's ten thousand years in synchronization with your planet's time," Perceptor said.
"You mean, you can't go home?" Ventus asked.
"Until we have a functioning ship, we are stuck on your planet. In the meantime, we will safeguard the AllSpark when we find it," Optimus said.
"And if you don't mind me asking, but how come you can turn into cars and trucks?" Karen asked.
"We chose these as our disguises. It's to maintain cover when we're here," Ratchet said.
"We just don't want to draw any unwanted attention," Wheeljack said.
"I know that feeling," Sora said. "Anyway, Optimus, why are we here exactly?"
"We fear that the Decepticons have learned of your existence, and they would launch an attack onto you. It is to protect you," Optimus said.
"Well, the thing is, we should be with our families right now, because we had ourselves a long journey a while back," Sora said.
"And they'll be worried if we are out too long," Kairi added.
"Human customs. I have not considered it. But the matter of your safety still remains. Each one of us will maintain covert surveillance while in vehicle mode in shifts," Optimus said.
"What do we do if the Cons show up," Huffer asked.
"We will fight them off," Optimus said.
Over to the Nemesis, the Vehicons kneeled before Megatron about their latest encounter.
"You had three Autobots in your grasp and you allowed them to escape? And what's more, you were bested by those weaker than yourselves?" Megatron asked.
"Forgive us, Lord Megatron. Autobot reinforcements arrived and we were too greatly injured to keep going," the leading Vehicon said. "I won't let it happen again."
"How true that is," Megatron said, firing at the leading Vehicon, killing him. "The Autobots have sided with the inhabitants of the planet." He looked at Soundwave.
"Lord Megatron, Laserbeak and Squawktalk have returned," Soundwave said.
"Excellent, Soundwave. Portray the image on the screen," Megatron ordered.
"As you command, Lord Megatron," Soundwave complied. He displayed the images of Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon.
"Optimus Prime will do everything he can to protect them. But, for how long?" Megatron asked as he chuckled evilly.
Now that Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair have met the Autobots, what will happen next until the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon meet them as well? And how will the Decepticons move in on the new allies of the Autobots? Just wait and find out.
