Episode 518: The Curse of Garland

Okay, I got word that Sora has been chosen into Super Smash Bros Ultimate as the final DLC character. To be honest, I seriously had my doubts after Sephiroth, and was told he wasn't getting in at all, that and the whole thing with Disney. My money was on Shantae, or maybe Crash Bandicoot.

A few days came and went since the meeting of Starscream and the Stunticons; since then, things have been quiet, which was both good and bad. Sora knew the peace and quiet won't last for long.

The mailman arrived and delivered some mail to the Ketchum house as he is whistling a happy tune. Sora was just coming home at the time.

"Hey there, Willy," Sora greeted.

"Hi, Sora, how's it going?" Willy asked.

"Peaceful and quiet for the most part," Sora replied. "What do you have for me today?"

"Usual fan mail," Willy said, handing him the letters to him.

"Of course," Sora deadpanned. "Take it easy, Willy."

"You too, Sora," Willy said. "Don't be surprised if you get some more."

"Course," Sora said. He and Pikachu enters inside and sat down as he read the fan mail. Many of them were all girls, asking him to go out on a date with them, or many declaring their undying love for him. "Man, how does Cynthia deal with these?"

"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said. He took one more envelope, but this didn't seem like the usual fan mail.

"Odd. Not a fan mail by the looks of it, but looks can be deceiving, right buddy?" Sora asked.

"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed. He opened the envelope to see who it was and saw it was a challenge instead.

"What could this be?" Sora asked before he started to read the contents of the letter.

Dear Mr. Sora Ketchum

Because of your successful victories in the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova Pokémon Leagues, you are hereby being challenged by martial artist, model, and actress, Vivian Wong in a week from Tuesday, and it shall be a two-on-two Pokémon battle. The battle shall commence in the Indigo Plateau's main stadium at noon. We would like a reply from you as soon as possible.

With best regards,

The Kanto Pokémon League Association

"Man, win five Pokémon Leagues and then someone wants a peace of you. I'm glad that didn't happen during our inter dimensional adventure, or maybe misadventure," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"You think we should accept?" Sora asked.

"Chu," Pikachu shrugged his shoulders.

"Vivian Wong, no idea who she is. I guess a battle could distract me from dealing with the Decepticons for a while," Sora said. He sighed. "It's the fans that'll crowd around me when I set foot there."

"Pi," Pikachu said.

Meanwhile, a young man stepped out of his car and sighed to himself. He has black hair and blue eyes. He wore a white shirt and blue jeans. He took out a photo of himself and a younger Valiant. He was a happy little kid back in the day.

"Valiant, if only I could make you understand. Understand that what you're doing is not worth it," the young man said in his thoughts.

(Flashback)

It was after Valiant found out the truth about Garland.

"Why didn't you tell me, Gabriel?! Why didn't you tell me about this?!" Valiant exclaimed angrily.

"It was for your own good, Valiant. It was to protect you," Gabriel said calmly.

"Protect me?! Protect me from what?! A piece of history about our family that would have been beneficial to us!" Valaint argued.

"It wouldn't have benefited us, Valiant. And there's more to the story than you already know," Gabriel said. He took a big sigh, knowing he will not like what he is about to hear. "After Zest defeated Garland, the princess was returned safely, but as a result, our family was treated unfairly. None of us could understand why Garland turned out like this, and frankly, it's for the best that we don't know."

"Garland was the greatest knight to ever live! We would have lived like royalty!" Valiant exclaimed.

"Valaint, Garland disgraced our family. He brought shame on us all. His own son disowned him as a father for what he had done! It wasn't something he wanted to do, but what choice did he have?" Gabriel asked.

"So, his own family betrayed him?! What was all that bullshit about family sticking together?!" Valiant yelled.

"Watch your language, Valiant," Gabreil said.

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" Gabriel yelled.

"Listen to me! Please, listen to me. You need to think straight. I know it's been hard for us both ever since mom and dad died, but bursting out in anger isn't helping anything," Gabriel said.

"What do you think we should do to avenge Garland's honor?" Valiant asked. Gabriel looked right at him.

"Avenge Garland's honor? You can't be serious," Gabriel said.

"I have never been more serious about anything in my whole life. Zest's bloodline will pay for what he did! And justice will be brought to us!" Valiant said.

"That's not justice, Valiant! That's revenge! There's a thin line that defines the two!" Gabriel argued.

"What difference does it make? I will claim it for Garland, and our family will be honored once more," Valiant said.

"What family?! You and I are the only ones left!" Gabriel said.

"You and I can work together to bring Zest's bloodline down! Destroy it forever!" Valiant exclaimed. Gabriel's got wide when he made that statement.

"DO YOU HEAR THE WORDS COMING OUT OF YOUR OWN MOUTH, VALIANT?! YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT MURDER! THAT ISN'T GOING TO MAKE IT BETTER, IT'S GOING TO MAKE IT WORSE! YOU'RE WAY BETTER THAN THAT!" Gabriel yelled. He took in a deep breath and calmed down. "Look, we can't do this now. We're going to talk about this when I get home from work. Until then, you're not to leave the house; not even to take out the garbage." Gabriel got ready for work and stepped out of the house. Valiant watched his brother leave through the window.

"If you won't help me, then fine! I'll do it all on my own! I will avenge Garland's honor, and things will be right with them dead," Valiant said.

Hours later, Gabriel came home from work.

"Valiant, I'm home!" Gabriel called out. "You know what we're going to talk about, right?" Gabriel hears nothing. "Valiant? He walks up stairs and knocked on his door. "Valiant, I told you we were gonna talk about it, right? And I was very clear on the matter. So, I'm going to assume that you left the door unlocked. He turned the nob and and saw the door is unlocked. "It is unlocked." He slowly opened the door. "Okay, I'm coming in." He stepped inside and sees Valiant gone. "Valiant? Valiant, where are you?" He looked at his bed to find a note on his pillow. "Valiant?"

Goodbye to you, brother.

I went to fulfill my destiny! Don't bother trying to stop me!

Valiant

Gabriel crumbles the paper and opened his bedroom window.

"VALIANT!" Gabriel's voice echoed throughout the neighborhood.

(Flashback ends)

"Your emotions brings out the worst in you, Valiant, but I won't let it get the best of you. I promised mom and dad to look out for you, and I am not gonna break my promise to you," Gabriel said.

Later, Sora talked to Kairi about the challenge that was made to him.

"Vivian Wong is challenging you?" Kairi asked.

"Yeah. Any idea who she is?" Sora asked.

"I do. She's not just a skilled Pokémon trainer, but she's a deadly martial artist. I heard some people say she once took on fifty guys all on her own. I didn't believe a word of it," Kairi said. "I always thought it was just for some movie."

"I can take your word for it. It'll be nice to have a little distraction about the whole thing with the Decepticons," Sora said.

"Yeah, it'll be nice to have things back to normal for a while," Kairi said.

"You're right. I might as well go for it. But there's a downside to it," Sora said.

"What?" Kairi asked. Sora's face turned pale along with his brown hair. "The screaming fan girls that might come after me before and after the battle, mobbing me and begging me to go out with one of them." Kairi understood what her boyfriend meant.

"I know what you mean, Sora. I'm kinda having the same dilemma as you are," Kairi said. "I have been getting fan mail at my house dropped off by Willy."

"Well, at least we can go through this together," Sora said. He and Kairi shared a kiss with each other. They broke the kiss when Delia and Karen came in through the door. "Hey, mom, Karen. How was your outing?"

"It was wonderful. Everything in Pallet Town is wonderful," Karen said.

"I'm glad I got to share it with you, Karen," Delia said. Sora was happy to see his mother and sister getting so closer and closer. Even though Sora didn't know her long enough, but it felt like he knew her for years, and he was very happy to be a part of it. "By the way, Sora, where's Mimey?"

"Oh, he's in the backyard, tending to the garden. He's been watering that huge watermelon for that giant vegetable contest," Sora said.

Speaking of which, Mimey has been tending to the watermelon, making certain no Pokémon gets in range of it, by setting up invisible walls up in the air, and on the ground.

"Mimey has been very protective of his watermelon since he gotten started. He should be proud. For a change, he could beat that pompous Percy. He won those competitions for the last seven years," Delia said.

"Didn't you try to win that three years ago?" Kairi asked.

"She did. She came close, too," Sora said.

"And even after I almost beat him, he still gloated in my face," Delia said. "I'm almost worried what he'll try to grow this year."

"Oh, I think I have a really good idea," Sora said.

Speaking of which, Percy is a man wearing a white shirt and overalls. He wore a gardening hat and boots. Inside his house, there are seven trophies as he grew giant pumpkins, but they gotten bigger each passing year.

"Ah, my beautiful pumpkin. We're sure to win this again this year. You always wowed the judges with your magnificent size each one of the seven years; soon to be eight," Percy said. "Are you thirsty, my friend? Here, drink up." He watered the pumpkin.

Back at the Ketchum house Sora gave a face that says it all.

"What is it with that guy and pumpkins?" Sora asked.

"I have been wondering about what his obsession with pumpkins, too, Sora," Delia said.

"He acts like he's the best gardener on the face of the world. I was pretty mad at him for gloating at my mom," Sora said, getting angry a little bit.

"Sora, I told you it's nothing to get mad over," Delia reminded him.

"Right," Sora said. He sighed. "Let's hope Mimey brings it home this year."

Meanwhile, Valiant left Team Shadow HQ as they all returned. Valiant couldn't care less about how Mateus brought the Brotherhood of Darkness and the other villains over. All he cared about is getting revenge on Sora's family. He intends to make good of his promise. He took out a recently taken photo of Delia, going about her daily routine. He paid off a photographer to follow her around.

"My revenge is just within my fingertips. I'll make your end an agonizing one," Valiant said. "Just need the proper motivation." He laughed evilly.

Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom stepped out to prepare for the upcoming battle as Valiant had just arrived to the house. He wore a suit and walked up the door and knocked on it.

Inside, Delia was about to get started cleaning.

"Coming," Delia said. She answered the door. "May I help you?"

"Yes, are you Delia Ketchum?" Valiant asked.

"Yes," Delia answered. "How may I help you?"

"I came looking for my Lillipup. Her name's Fluffy, and I'm worried sick about her," Valiant lied. "I'm going crazy looking for her." Delia felt sorry for him, not knowing it's a trap.

"Don't worry, I'll help find your Lillipup," Delia said. Meowth was coming back from the mansion and he spotted Valiant on the Ketchum doorstep. His eyes widened when he saw him.

"Oh crap! It's him!" Meowth exclaimed in shock. "He must be here to get to Sora. Man, if Jessie and James were here, they wouldn't let those Team Shadow chumps get in the way; also, Team Rocket would still be active. I'll have to teach him a lesson myself." He got his claws ready to give Valiant a scratch across the face. "Get ready, Valiant." Meowth ran right towards Valiant to stop him. Delia sees Meowth coming right towards them.

"Oh, Meowth, if you're looking for Sora, tell him I'm helping this young man find his Lillipup," Delia said.

"Get away from that guy! He's bad news!" Meowth exclaimed, trying to warn her. Valiant opened his Pokéball and lets out his Grimmsnarl.

"Spirit Break!" Valiant ordered. Grimmsnarl bats Meowth with Spirit Break.

"YEOWTH!" Meowth yelped. Delia gasped when she saw that.

"Meowth!" Delia cried. Valiant took out some tape and taped her mouth shut.

"So much for the ruse," Valiant said. He tied her hands together. "Let's go, Grimmsnarl." Grimmsnarl complied as Delia tried to yell for help. Hearing the commotion, Kairi's grandmother stepped out.

"Good heavens, what's going on out here?" Kairi's grandmother asked. She saw Meowth laying on the ground. She ran up to the scratch cat Pokémon and helped him up. "My goodness, Meowth! What happened?"

"Gotta find Sora. Valiant took his mom," Meowth said.

"Who?" Kairi's grandmother asked.

"Valiant. He's with Team Shadow. He has it in for Sora and the rest of his family, because of what Zest did to Garland. Where did they go?" Meowth asked.

"They went for Professor Oak's lab," Kairi's grandmother said.

"Gotta head there now!" Meowth said, getting up on his feet. He ran as fast as his feet could carry him.

"Meowth, wait!" Kairi's grandmother called out.

Over to Sora, Kairi, Karen, Pikachu, Angel, and Blossom, Sora went over his plan, and decided to use Butterfree for the battle against Vivian since there's word that she uses Fighting Type Pokémon.

"Hard to believe this Butterfree is the first Pokémon that Sora has ever caught," Karen said.

"You should have been there, Karen. That little Caterpie was so cute. I have always thought Caterpie were cute Pokémon. After Sora beaten Team Rocket for the first time, he evolved into a Metapod, and then eventually into the Butterfree you see now," Kairi said.

"Since I lived in the Unova region for most of my life, I never got to see Butterfree. I heard how Butterfree are," Karen said. She looked at the pink Butterfree, seeing how close they are together. "Is that pink one yours, Kairi? I was meaning to ask you for a while."

"No, she's a wild Butterfree who was chased here by a Fearow. He rushed in to save her, and they've been mates ever since," Kairi said.

"That's real sweet," Karen said, watching the two Butterfree nuzzle each other. "Kinda like when Sora saved you from those hunters when you two first met."

"Yeah, I thought the same thing," Kairi said. "But the romance tends to spread around." She looked over to Gallade and Gardevoir as they held hands. The same can be said for Cinderace and Lopunny. And there are the two Victreebel. "Of course, there are those who already was romance we met." She looked over to Volbeat and Illumise, and then to Nidoking and Nidoqueen. Karen smiled.

"So, why Butterfree of all Pokémon? Sora has plenty of other Pokémon that has the advantage over Fighting Types," Karen said.

"Sora never got to use Butterfree in the Indigo Plateau because there was a trainer there who got disqualified when he used two against one. Sora must be making it up to Butterfree for it," Kairi said.

"I am looking forward to it," Karen said. Kairi was about to talk when Meowth came running to the ranch.

"Sora! Emergency! 911! Urgent! Really, really, urgent!" Meowth yelled. Sora went up to Meowth who was now panting.

"Meowth, what's wrong? What's gotten you so worked up?" Sora asked.

"It's Valiant. He was at your house," Meowth said. Kairi and Karen gasped.

"Valiant?" Karen asked in surprise.

"Yeah, and he kidnapped your mom! So, I came running, looking for ya!" Meowth said. Sora was stunned as his anger was starting to build up.

"No!" Karen gasped.

"How could he do such a thing?" Kairi asked. Sora didn't say anything as he clutched his fist in anger.

"Is there no limit he won't go over?" Karen asked. "I don't want to lose my biological mother after getting to know her!"

"Where is he?!" Sora yelled out in anger. This startled Karen greatly. "Where did he take my mom?!"

"Sorry, Sora, not a clue," Meowth said. Just then, a Spearow flies above with a small TV. It activates to show Valiant's face on the screen.

"I told you I was going to go after your mother. And I meant it. If you want to see her alive and well, you will do what I tell you, or else she's going to take the fall," Valiant said. "You got one hour. You come alone. The only Pokémon you bring is that Pikachu of yours, same as last time. Meet me in the woods. And you better hurry, the clock's ticking." It turns off as Sora fumed in anger.

"If that's how you want to play, then I'll play your game, and get my mom back," Sora said.

"Sora, no. It can only be a trap," Kairi said.

"I know. My mom will die if I don't help her. I can't let that bastard get away with it," Sora said.

"Sora," Kairi said, fearing for her boyfriend's life.

"Kairi, if it was you or Karen in place of her, you know I would risk my life to keep you safe," Sora said. Kairi knew he was right, and she wanted Delia to come back safe as much as he and Karen does.

"I know you will, Sora. Just promise you'll come back to me," Kairi said.

"Promise," Sora said. He hugged both his girlfriend and sister and they hugged him back. Pikachu did the same thing for Angel and Blossom. Sora turned to his partner and nodded. "Come on, Pikachu. We gotta help mom."

"Chu," Pikachu said.

He and Pikachu set off to find Valiant and rescue his mother. Kairi and Karen didn't wait long.

"Kairi, we're not going to wait for Sora to come back are we?" Karen asked.

"I can't take that chance. I love Sora too much to lose him," Kairi said. "I'm worried that his anger will get the better of him."

"Eevee," Angel said worriedly.

"Pika," Blossom said.

"What do we do?" Meowth asked. Kairi looked at Meowth.

"You go and Twilight, Agumon, Sonic, and everyone at the mansion, let them know what's going on," Kairi said.

"What about us?" Karen asked.

"We'll have to get my parents to help," Kairi said.

"Right," Karen said. "But shouldn't we tell Optimus about this?"

"He's too occupied dealing with the Decepticons, Karen. They've been our problem before we met them," Kairi said. "Come on."

Meowth ran to find the mansion as the girls ran to Kairi's house to inform her parents of the situation.

Meanwhile, Valiant and Grimmsnarl carried their hostage towards the woods when they stopped. They saw Gabriel in front of them. Valiant wasn't thrilled to see him.

"Gabriel," Valiant said with disgust.

"Valiant," Gabriel said. He looked at Delia in Grimmsnarl's arms. "Resorted to kidnapping, Valiant? I expected better."

"Get out of my way, Gabriel! This doesn't concern you!" Valiant stated.

"Yes it does, Valiant. You're my brother and I love you. This is going too far," Gabriel said.

"I am not going to stop," Valiant said.

"Valiant, please, listen to me. You're making a huge mistake. Garland was an evil man, and he cared only about himself! He disgraced our family, not Zest. Can't you see that?" Gabriel asked.

"How could you say he disgraced our family, Gabriel? Garland's blood flows in your veins, same as mine!" Valiant exclaimed.

"Yes, but it doesn't mean we have to be like him! And you're doing what he did. Let her go, and we can go home together," Gabriel said.

"I have a home. It's with Team Shadow," Valiant said.

"Don't be ridiculous, Valiant! You think they're your family? Well, they're not! I am!" Gabriel said.

"And family should stick together, right? You're more naive than I used to be, before I learned the truth," Valiant said.

"The so-called truth is nothing more than Garland's points of view. And you're hanging on to his every word," Gabriel said.

"You should, too! I'm going to take on Sora Ketchum and kill him out here! And I'm giving you a choice! You can either join me or get out of the way!" Valiant said.

"I can't do either, Valiant," Gabreil said definitely. "This is your chance to abandon your quest for revenge and come back home. It's still not too late." Valiant looked at his brother and shook his head.

"And I can't do that. Not yet. I'm sorry," Valiant said.

"No, I'm sorry," Gabriel said. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you that day. I wasn't there to stop you. A mistake I won't make again, little brother. Let me help you."

"It's too late for that. You had your chance, and I'm just getting started," Valiant said, taking out a smoke bomb. It erupts smoke from inside. The smoke clears to see Valiant gone.

"No, it's not too late, Valiant. I will save you from you became, I promise," Gabriel said.

Unknown to him, someone was watching them. The individual turns out to be Kefka hiding in the shrubs. He grinned very evilly.

"This should be fun," Kefka said, grinning.

Over to the mansion, Meowth told everyone what happened.

"Valiant kidnapped Sora's mom?!" Twilight exclaimed.

"Isn't Valiant that Team Shadow member who gave you such a hard time?" Sonic asked.

"We only met him once, but he does hate Sora much like cats hates dogs," Applejack said.

"Sora's gone after him, right?" Gallus asked.

"He did. And he's playing right in his hands," Meowth said.

"Knowing Sora, he would do what he can to save any one of his friends and family," Gatomon said.

"What do we do?" Spike asked.

"We go and help him, and teach Valiant a lesson he won't forget," Sonic said.

With that said, everyone stepped out to help out Sora rescue his mom.

Over to the girls, Yuta and Mirei were made aware of the situation.

"Just when Team Rocket were bad enough, Team Shadow crosses the line," Yuta said.

"Much like Jakira and Team Rocket, there is no forgiveness from the likes of them," Mirei said.

"I'm worried Sora will get into real trouble," Kairi said.

"I know you are, honey," Yuta said. "I'll see what I can do to help out."

"I'll call the police about the situation," Mirei said.

Over to Sora and Pikachu, they rushed outside of Pallet Town and heads right into the nearby forest.

"This is it, Pikachu. He's gotta be in there," Sora said.

"Chu," Pikachu agreed.

"We should be really careful when dealing with him," Sora said.

"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.

"Okay, let's do this," Sora said. They stepped in the woods and saw a mark on a tree. "We're on the trail." A little while later, Gabriel made it to the woods.

"Valiant," Gabriel could only say.

Further in the woods, Sora and Pikachu ran through the forest, looking for Valiant and Delia.

"Valiant! Come out! Stop hiding like a coward and face me like a real man!" Sora yelled through the forest.

"I knew you would come!" Valiant's voice called throughout the forest. "Come to rescue your mommy?"

"Kidnapping my mom is a low blow even for a snake like you!" Sora said.

"I would anything to have my revenge!" Valiant shouted. "My family will be avenged, and yours will die!"

"And me and my family dying will make things better? That's just wrong!" Sora said. "Anyway, since we're on the subject, my mom better be alive! Because if you hurt one hair on her head, so help me, I'll make you swallow your teeth after I knock them out of your mouth!"

"Relax, she's alive for now," Valiant said, coming out of the shadows. "Follow me and you will see." Valiant ran as Sora and Pikachu ran after him. They eventually caught up with Valiant to see Delia tied in chains against a tree. Her mouth was taped shut.

"Mom!" Sora called out. Delia tried to respond to Sora's voice, but she couldn't. "Valiant, I told you to stay away from my mom!"

"I never stay away. I always make good of my promises," Valiant said.

"You got what you want! I'm here," Sora said.

"Yes, and this time, no running away. I lost to twice, but I won't lose this time," Valiant said. Grimmsnarl jumped right out and gave a loud roar. Kefka is up in a tree, eating a bag full of popcorn.

"This is going to be juicy!" Kefka said, laughing.

"Grimmsnarl! Use Fire Punch!" Valiant ordered. Grimmsnarl came right at Sora and Pikachu.

"Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed right at Grimmsnarl, landing a hit. "Use Iron Tail!" Pikachu lands a hit with Iron Tail, dealing a super-effective hit.

"Don't take that laying down! Use Spirit Break now!" Valiant ordered. Grimmsnarl came right at Pikachu and lands a Spirit Break on the mouse Pokémon, making Valaint laugh. "Fire Punch!" Grimmsnarl lands a successful hit with Fire Punch.

"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu lands a Thunderbolt onto Grimmsnarl. "Use Electro Web!" Pikachu hurls an Electro Ball right at Grimmsnarl, getting him caught in the web of electricity. Grimmsnarl struggles to get loose. "That was great, Pikachu!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.

"I'm sure it was, but not enough," Valiant said, emitting a dark aura and forms it as a broadsword. Sora dodged the sword made of darkness.

"YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Sora exclaimed.

"You think you're the only one who has special powers, Ketchum?! A little something I inherited from Garland!" Valiant said.

"How did you do that?" Sora asked.

"What you saw was the power of darkness! Darkness fueled by my rage and hate!" Valiant said.

"Garland had this power?! How?!" Sora asked.

"He developed this power shortly after he was defeated by your asshole ancestor! He didn't get to use it on him, because it took him years to master, and died in old age. But, he left clues so that his descendants could learn it fast enough," Valaint said.

"So, everyone in your family can use the powers of darkness just like you?" Sora asked.

"Not really. Only those who were born with the burning rage and hate can learn it, so I was it. Ever since I learned of this technique, I have been practicing without end, until I got it right at last," Valiant said. "And I was going to use this to finish you off for good! And since you don't have your loser friends with you, this will be so much easier!"

"I am not afraid to rely on my friends!" Sora said.

"Friends only holds you back! Love makes you weak! Hate and rage makes you strong!" Valiant said.

"You couldn't be any wrong. Whatever that power is, it's bad news, so let's just battle like real Pokémon trainers," Sora said.

"Not a chance! I'm going to finish you off this way, so just DIE!" Valiant shouted as he sends out an aura of darkness. Sora dodged. Grimmsnarl came at Pikachu, sharing his trainer's rage. Delia could only watch as Sora and Pikachu dodge the series of assaults. Sora unleashed an orb of his aura and it lands a hit onto Valiant.

"I didn't want to hurt him, but giving the current situation, I was given so little choice," Sora said in his thoughts.

"I hate you, Sora Ketchum! Just die!" Valiant shouted, unleashing a stream of darkness at Sora. It came too quickly for Sora to dodge or block. He and Pikachu were struck at the same time. Valiant forged his darkness in shape of a mallet and attempted to crush him with it, but something unexpected happened. An orb of lightning came and struck Valiant's attack. Also, a sparkling being zoomed right at him. "What the hell?! I told you that it is just you!"

"I didn't call for anyone!" Sora said.

"What is this? This isn't in the damn script!" Kefka exclaimed. Just then, a bolt of lightning struck the clown, making him fall off. "What is going on?!" Just then, blue energy came and struck the clown hard. A lance emerged and almost struck him, making Kefka flee. "This sucks! I'm outta here!" He ran off.

"Hey!" Kefka exclaimed.

While they weren't looking, a man wearing a gray bodysuit. He gave a shush gesture, telling her to be quiet.

"Here to help you," the man said. He cuts her restraints. She took off the tape off her lips.

"Thank you," Delia whispered. The man nodded as he disappeared into the shrubs.

The fight continued between Pokémon and trainers. Sora saw his mom loose and he smiled.

"Mom," Sora said.

"Sora," Delia could only say. Valiant saw that she was free.

"No, no, no! NO!" Valiant yelled. His whole body emitting darkness. "THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!"

"Valiant! Stop!" A familiar voice shouted. Gabriel ran in front of Sora. "Please, Valiant. This has got to stop."

"NO! I WON'T STOP!" Valiant yelled.

"Valiant, please listen to me! This isn't you! You're better than this!" Gabriel said.

"Who are you?" Sora asked.

"My name's Gabriel. I'm Valiant's older brother. And like him, I'm descended from Garland," Gabriel said.

"WHY ARE YOU DEFENDING HIM WHEN YOU SHOULD BE SIDING WITH ME?!" Valiant yelled.

"Because killing Sora and the rest of the Ketchum family isn't going to make it right. Can't you see that? It's only going to make it worse!" Gabreil said.

"YOU'RE A TRAITOR, GABRIEL! I WILL DO WHAT YOU WON'T! AND THEN I'LL DEAL WITH YOU!" Valiant yelled as he got his hands ready to attack, but he's zapped by lavender and light turquoise beams of magic.

"No you're not!" Twilight said.

Kairi, Karen, Angel, Meowth, Blossom, Yuta, Sonic, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, the Young Six, and the Digimon came rushing in.

"Guys!" Sora said.

"You okay, Mrs. K?" Sonic asked.

"Yes, I am," Delia said. Meowth noticed Gabriel in front of Sora

"Who's this guy, and what's with the freaky aura?" Meowth asked.

"Valiant's brother," Sora answered.

"Brother?" Yona asked.

"Valiant, please stop what you're doing and come home with me," Gabriel said.

"I keep telling you I won't! His family is the bane of our family's existence, and as long as they're alive, they're always going to be a burden for us!" Valiant said.

"You don't have to keep this up," Starlight said. She walked up to Valiant. "Look, you're not the only one who wanted revenge for something that happened in the past. I once enslaved an entire village, and I took away they're special talents, defining who they are, and when I was defeated, I tried to get even with them out of revenge by erasing their friendship." She points to the Mane Six. "I almost ended up destroying Equestria forever, because of it. I was wrong to do those things." She sighed. "It wasn't easy, but I made up for the errors of my ways."

"Is that supposed to mean something?! You can save it for someone who actually cares!" Valiant shouted as Agumon stepped right in.

"Pepper Breath!" Agumon shouted, firing a fireball from his mouth. Valiant was struck hard. Grimmsnarl came running towards the group when a barrier struck the bulk up Pokémon. It turns out to be Mimey.

"Mimey!" Sora said.

"Mr. Mime!" Mimey said.

"What's Mimey doing here?" Kairi asked.

"I sidetracked back to Sora's house and told him the situation. Mimey just dropped what he was doing and came running right behind us," Meowth said. Valiant growled in anger as did Grimmsnarl.

"I WON'T FORGIVE THIS! I'LL ELIMINATE ALL OF YOU!" Valiant shouted as another burst of blue energy struck him from behind. "Gah!" Just then, chains appear and retrains Valiant in them. "WHAT IS GOING ON?!" He was about to burst out of them, but he is zapped by the chains. Grimmsnarl was bound to the same kind of chain, tying him up.

"Good job, Mimey," Meowth said.

"Mr. Mime," Mimey said, shrugging his shoulders.

"What do you mean you're not the one doing that?" Meowth asked.

"Valiant," Gabriel said.

Just then, a blast of black smoke appears. Everyone covered their mouths, not breathing in the smoke. Biyomon and Hawkmon flapped their wings, blowing the smoke away, to see Valiant and Grimmsnarl gone.

"Where did they go?" Yuta asked.

Valiant is cut loose from the chains and he is before Golbez.

"Striking out on your own again, I see?" Golbez asked.

"Butt out, Golbez! I would have had them if you hadn't interfered!" Valiant said.

"You were going out of control, Valiant. And we cannot have that. I warned you that using your powers carelessly will cost you your life. As did Master Mateus," Golbez said. "And for future references, do not ever go out on your own again, or else we will not help you at all!"

"As if I need your help, Golbez!" Valiant said.

"I say this as a warning, so watch yourself," Golbez warned.

Kefka was fuming over what happened.

"What was that about? That was not funny!" Kefka said.

"It is when you just sit there like a child, Kefka," Kuja said. Kefka took out an extendo boxing glove and tried to punch Kuja with it, but he dodged. He laughed at his dilemma.

Everyone went back to the Ketchum house as Sora was relieved and concerned for his mother at the same time.

"Mom, I'm just glad you're okay," Sora said.

"I'm fine, Sora. I'm very grateful that you came all this way to save me," Delia said.

"I had to, because you're my mom. I didn't wanna lose you," Sora said, tears coming down his eyes. Delia rubs her son on the back.

"Shh, you won't lose me, honey. I promise you that," Delia said.

Mimey felt guilty for tending to his watermelon and ignoring Delia in trouble, but she assured the barrier Pokémon it wasn't his fault. Sora did wonder who was that man who helped his mother escape. And who or what was helping out during the fight with Valiant. He knew for certain, Team Shadow wasn't going to back down that easily.

Again, I wanted to say that I am stoked that Sora is going to be featured in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Let me know what you think in the reviews or PM me. Signing off for now
