On The Run.

Peter soon found himself standing outside of Agnes's house, the doors to the underground basement were now locked. He was going to have to find another way into the building, he was the right man for the job after all. He could get into anywhere, his past life of illegal activities sometimes came in handy in situations like theses.

Walking forward Peter trampled through some purple coloured flowers, he soon stepped onto the stone pathway and walked towards the front door. But he wasn't planning to use the front door, he zoomed across the front lawn and made his way to the backyard. He would be able to get inside of Agnes's house without being noticed in the backyard, but when got there the back door was wide open. Peter looked over shoulder before he ventured into the building, he quietly closed the door behind him and found himself in the kitchen.

The kitchen was modern and clean, it's fixtures were mostly dark oak. It looked like Agnes prided herself in a tidy house, the rooms decor was elegant in an old fashioned kind of way. Peter scoped out the kitchen, he could smell the scent of fragrant flowers wafting through the kitchen from the living room's doorway. There was a loaf of sliced bread on the counter side with a bottle of opened milk near it, he wandered over to the counter and picked a jar of strawberry jam up from the side. He sniffed the jar and recoiled from it's scent, it smelt funky.

" What are you doing here?!"

Peter frozen when he heard a woman's voice coming from somewhere behind him, he spun around on his toes and threw the jar at the unknown woman. Half of the jars contents spattered across the kitchen's floor before it smashed against the wall near the woman, but he was relieved when he saw Monica standing in the doorway. Monica just stood there with a shocked expression on her face, she hadn't been expecting him to throw the jar at her. Peter winced and tucked his hands into his short's pockets, he cleared his throat before he spoke to her.

" Sorry, I didn't mean to do that..." Peter said.

" What are you doing here?" Monica asked.

" I came to search the house, I thought you could do with some backup." Peter replied while he approached her. " Don't worry, Tommy is with my teammates. He's perfectly safe, my Father is watching over him."

" Your Father?" Monica asked.

" Yeah, he's cool." Peter replied.

" Okay then, let's search the living room." Monica said.

Peter walked ahead of Monica and entered the living room, it was dimly lit. Only so much light was being allowed to enter the room, there were dark heavy curtains blocking most of the light out. The smell of hay caught his attention, there was an empty cage on a side table near the couch. He walked around the room and examined everything, the place was very clean. Monica told Peter that she had already checked the upstairs rooms, she hadn't found anything suspicious up there.

Running his finger tips along the top of a cabinet Peter's attention was soon drawn to the coffee table, there was two half eaten sandwiches on table top still. The twins had been eating sandwiches the last time he had seen them together, he zoomed over to the coffee table which startled Monica. He sometimes forgot that people didn't know about his mutant ability, he was always use to having his own kind around him in his reality.

" Please don't do that!' Monica said.

Peter apologised to her before he picked one of the plates up from the table, he smelt it before he pulled the leftover sandwich apart. The bread was dry, the jam and peanut butter filling inside of the sandwich didn't smell that great neither. There were purple coloured stains running through the filling, it looked like something had been sprinkled on sandwich before Agnes had served them up to the boys.

" Is there something wrong?" Monica asked.

" These sandwiches Billy and Tommy were eating don't smell right." Peter said while he held the plate towards Monica. " What do you think?"

Monica took the plate from Peter and smelt the sandwich too, she said it smelt floral. Peter pointed out the purple stains on the bread, he was being to think that Agnes may have given them something toxic. It would explain why Tommy was vomiting, but without any warning Monica immediately dropped the plate the on floor. The smashing plate made Peter jump, he had no idea why Monica had dropped the plate until she pointed at some maggots crawling from the bread's crust. They both back away from the sandwich, the floral smell coming from it was now overpowering.

" Okay, now that's disgusting!" Peter said.

" What's going on?!" Monica asked.

" I dont know..." Peter replied before he kicked the plate away from them. " Do think Agnes put something toxic in the twins sandwiches?"

" Surely she wouldn't do that..." Monica replied.

" Newsflash Mons, she's got an alter in the basement!" Peter said while he rested his hands on his hips. " There's a cabinet full of potions down there too, she's either cast a spell on the boys or poisoned them!"

" First of all, don't call me Mons!" Monica said, she grabbed hold of Peter's arm and led him across the room. " And secondly, there's another way into the basement."

" Really?" Peter asked.

" Yeah." Monica replied with a hint of determination in her voice. " We're going back down there and we're going to obtain those potions!"

" You meaning stealing, right?" Peter asked.

" Yeah." Monica replied.

" We're doing illegal activities now, cool." Peter smiled.

" You're a very strange man..." Monica said.

" You know my Father says that too." Peter said.

Monica stopped Peter near the basement's doorway when she found the door wide open, she told him she had closed the door behind her when she had entered the living room. She let go of Peter's arm and looked around the hallway, she told him to be on his guard in case there was an intruder in the house with them.

" You sound like a cop, are you a cop?" Peter asked.

" I'm a S.W.O.R.D. agent." Monica replied before she closed the basement's doors. " But now isn't the time for pleasantries, we've got a job to do. You can search the hallway and the other rooms beyond that, I'll retrace my footsteps."

" Okay." Peter said.

" Meet me back here in ten minutes." Monica said.

" Alright, I'll see you on the flip side." Peter said.

Peter left Monica's side and made his way down the hallway, he unhooked an umbrella from a hat stand before he opened a door at the end of the hallway. He soon found himself in the office he had seen through the downstairs window not long ago, he snooped around the room and checked a few of the desk's draws. He found some house deeds and a jar of buttons, but he looked over his shoulder when he heard Monica yelling his name.

" Peter, come quick!" Monica yelled.

Peter zoomed out of the office and down the hallway, he soon stopped in the living room. He heard Monica's voice once again, she told him she was in the laundry room in the kitchen. He zoomed into the kitchen and held the umbrella above his head, but he soon lowered it when he saw Billy with Monica on the kitchen floor. Monica was cradling Billy in her arms, she looked worried about him.

" It's Billy, he's not well..." Monica said.

Billy looked dreadfully pale, his finger tips were strained purple. Peter zoomed to his side and knelt next to him, he touched his shoulder while he spoke softly to him. Billy opened his eyes and smiled weakly at him when he heard Peter's voice, he told him that he had stolen the potion that Agnes had give him.

" It's in my pocket." Billy said.

" Good job little dude." Peter said.

" Where's Tommy?" Billy asked.

" Tommy is with my friends, he's safe." Peter replied with a smile. " Let's get you somewhere safe too, I'll take you to your Brother and then I'll find your parents."

" Okay." Billy said.

Peter took the bottle from Billy's jean pocket and looked at it, the purple liquid inside the bottle swished around inside of it. He gave it to Monica for safe keeping before he took his nephew from her arms, he then told Monica they needed to find Wanda fast. Peter led the way through Agnes's house with Monica not far behind him, she unlocked the front door for them before she hurried through the doorway.

Peter followed after Monica, but he stopped dead on the pathway when he saw Wanda and Agnes standing in the middle of the street. Wanda's palms were casting a red glow around them, but Agnes was dressed in old fashioned clothes. They soon caught Ange's attention, she waved her fingers at them in a playful manner. It wasn't long until Billy called out to his Mother, his voice caught Wanda's attention immediately.

" Billy!" Wanda yelled.

" It seems like one of my little mice as escaped from my basement." Agnes said while she raised from the ground. " It's too late Wanda, your time is running out. Give me your powers and I'll let you live this life you have created in Westview!"

" I will not let you take my family away from me!" Wanda frowned.

" Mom, stop..." Billy said.

" It's okay little dude, I'll get us out of here." Peter said.

Time slowed down for Peter while he glanced at Monica, the world around him was now under his control. He could see Wanda and Agnes in the mists of their battle, but he had no time to watch them. He zoomed down the street with Billy in his arms, he had to make sure he was safe first before he returned to Maple Street. Everything around him was motionless, he always noticed the little things when he used his ability. But he had no time to watch the slow moving world around him right now, he had a mission to complete.

Peter was soon zooming down Ellie Avenue, he noticed Hank placing a blue coloured stone on the front lawn while he enter the house where his team were located. Erik was kneeling next to the couch, it seemed like the unknown toxin was now taking effect on Tommy too. He gently placed Billy down on the couch while time returned to its normal pace, he made Erik jump which amused him slightly. He told his Father that he had to go back for Wanda and Monica, he agreed to look after Billy before he zoomed through the front door once again.

Peter kept on moving foward, he had to get back to Wanda and Monica before something bad happened to them. Zooming down Maple Street he headed straight towards his pretend sibling, he had no idea what had happened while he was gone but there was a car sticking out of the front room of Agnes's house. Wanda was staring down at something in the wreckage in front of her, he stopped right next to her and noticed two feet poking from beneath the rubble.

" Wow, I guess she's not returning to OZ anytime soon." Peter said.

Peter's presence had startled Wanda, she hadn't been excepting him to appear out of nowhere. She back away from him with a slight frown on her face, the familiar red glow began to form in the palm of her hands when Monica joined Peter's side. Her fingers moved in a strange manner whilst a faint red light shimmered across her blue eyes, she looked battle ready.

" Where's Billy?" Wanda asked.

" He's safe with Tommy, they're with my friends." Peter replied.

" You're lying!" Wanda said.

" He's telling the truth!" Monica said.

" You don't belong here neither!" Wanda said.

" We just want to help you Wanda..." Monica said.

Wanda ignored their pleas, she had made up her mind about them both. The red glow grew outwards from her palms while her gaze lingered on Monica, the full force of her powers were beginning to show. Peter guided Monica behind him with his hand, he himself backed away from Wanda too. He didn't blame her for not trusting him, but he had no idea what had happened between Monica and Wanda before he took up his mission in Westview.

" Look, I know you don't trust us right now." Peter said calmly. " But Billy and Tommy need their Mom, they're sick."

" What do you mean by they're sick?" Wanda asked.

" Agnes did something to them." Peter replied.

Wanda's gaze wandered towards the rubble of the house once again, the red glow soon faded from the palm of her hands. But to her dismay Agnes was no longer underneath the car, she had escaped without their knowledge. Peter slowly approached Wanda, he told her that she could trust him and Monica. She turned her full attention toward Peter and slightly nodded her head at him, she just wanted to see her children right now.

" Take me to them." Wanda said.

Peter smiled kindly at Wanda while he offered her his hand, he then told her to come with him. She took hold of his hand, he led her away from Agnes's house and helped her over some fallen debris. Monica wasn't that far behind them, she then asked Peter which car they should take for a joyride to Ellis Avenue.

" We don't need a car, I'm fast." Peter said.

" Oh no, we're taking a car!" Monica said.

" What? Why?" Peter asked.

Monica was about to say something to Peter but time slowed down for him, he sniggered to himself about the expression on Monica's face. She looked panicked, he wrapped his arm around her waist before he pulled her underneath his arm. He used the same method with Wanda, he then zoomed down the street with both of them underneath his arms. It wasn't long until he stopped outside of the house on Ellis Avenue where his teammates were located, his travel methods were always the fastest.

Time returned to it's normal while Peter placed Wanda and Monica down on their feet, he then pulled his goggles away from his eyes. Monica immediately took a moment to pull herself together, but Wanda wasn't fazed by the motion sickness like Monica. Looking along the pathway he noticed Hank placing some colourful stones by the open doorway, it wasn't long until his teammate approached them with a look of concern on his face.

" What's wrong?" Hank asked.

" We need to hide." Peter replied while he crossed his arms. "I've already brought Billy here, you just didn't noticed."

" I know, I've already been informed by the Doctor." Hank said.

" Steve was here?" Peter asked.

" Yeah, but he's gone now." Hank replied.

Hank beckoned them to follow him down the pathway, he told them he needed to discuss a few things with them in private. They followed after him and hurried into the house, it wasn't long until Wanda spotted her children on the couch. She smiled at them both, she was happy to be reunited with her boys. The twins seemed to be in good spirits even though they were ill right now, they were thrilled to see their Mother.

" Hey Mom!" Billy smiled.

" Sup Mom?" Tommy asked.

Wanda hurried to her children and kissed their foreheads in turn, she told them both that Mommy was here now. Peter watched them for a moment before he asked Monica for the potion bottle, she give it to him and sat herself down on the couch's arm. She was still suffering with motion sickness, he told her it would pass before he approached Hank.

" Hank, we need your medical advice." Peter said.

" I'm aware, is it about the boys?" Hank asked.

" Yeah." Peter replied before he held the potion bottle towards him. " We need to find out what this stuff is, we think Agnes may have poisoned the boys."

" Luckily for you I'm one step ahead of you for once." Hank said, he walked passed Peter and opened a box. " We've had a visitor like I mentioned before, he brought me some medical supplies. I can keep the boys stable until I can analysis the liquid in that bottle."

" But they may need to go to the hospital." Peter said.

" Peter, I can treat them here." Hank said with a reassuring smile. " It may not even be poison, it could be something else."

" Witchcraft?" Peter asked.

" Even witchcraft." Hank replied.

Hank showed Peter boxes of atropine and magnesium, he told him that they would desolved the toxins in their bodies. Peter peered into the box, there were bags of saline and other medical items. It seemed like there was a bit of everything inside the box, he himself needed some medical attention for his knuckles. Hank went onto inform him why Doctor Stephen Strange had visited them while Peter was gone, it seemed that he was aware of the situation Wanda was going through right now.

" She's unstable, the world she as created will fall apart at some point." Hank said.

" Who told you that?" Peter asked.

" The Doctor, he's worried that her magical abilities may start to affect the outer dimensions." Hank replied while he took some butterfly needles from the box. " He's the primary protector of Earth, the Sorcerer Supreme. He told me that Wanda could destroy worlds through all realities, that even includes intergalactic dimensions."

" Wow, I mean sorcerers and witches." Peter said before he rested his hands on the side table. " I thought it was just fairytale stuff, who knew they existed."

" Intergalactic dimensions though, I find it rather fascinating." Hank said.

" Only you would." Peter said.

" We will speak more about it in detail when I've treated the boys, they're my first priority right now." Hank said, he took some bandages from the box and gave them to Peter. " Until then get your hand cleaned up."

Peter thanked Hank before he looked over at Wanda, he was beginning to wonder if the sorcerer and the witch knew each other outside of Westview. He patted Hank's shoulder before he approached Wanda, she was doting over her boys like any good Mother would with their sick children. Erik was sitting on the arm chair not far away from them, he was being watchful over the family of three.

" What's wrong with my children?" Wanda asked.

" We don't know yet, but we think Agnes may have poisoned them." Peter replied while he glanced at Monica. " Billy stole the potion from her basement, we're not sure what it is thought. But my friend Hank will figure it out, he's smarter than he looks."

" Hey..." Hank said.

Peter's remark earned a little chuckle from the twins, his Father on the other hand told him to behave himself. Wanda looked at Peter over her shoulder, she was concerned for the welfare of her children. She told him that she was frightened for their safety, but Hank reassured her that they were safe enough since Doctor Strange had given them his protection while they remained inside of this house on Ellis Avenue.
