Chapter 11!

Radio Silence

The sky was red and swirling, the trees creaked and bowed when the wind picked up. The town of Westview was in danger, there was a magical storm coming. Vision had concerns for his family and the imprisoned citizens of this peculiar town, this didn't bode well for anyone at this very moment. Peter and Vision remained still while they watched the sky above them, they had no idea what was coming their way.

" I need to find Wanda and the boys..." Vision said.

" Okay." Peter said before her looked at his companion. " I need to find someone too, she may need my help."

" Then this is where we part ways for now." Vision said, he looked at Peter and offered him his hand. " It's been a pleasure meeting the real you, I wish you luck on your journey my friend."

" Likewise." Peter said.

Peter shook Vision's hand and wished him good luck too, he was going to need it Agnes had the Darkhold. Vision raised from the ground and looked at the highway ahead of him, he knew this may not end well if Wanda lost control of her powers. Peter watched him fly towards the town, he soon disappeared from his sight.

" Okay, which way do I go?" Peter asked.

Looking over his shoulder and back along the highway he sighed to himself, he maybe looking in the wrong place for Monica. Surely she wouldn't have come this far out of Westview, there wasn't any places to hide out here in the middle of nowhere. He looked back towards the town and thought for a moment, he needed to retrace the twins footsteps. He needed to go back to the town square, but his thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of a vehicle driving along the highway. He looked over his shoulder and stepped onto the grassy embankment of the highway, the vehicle approaching him looked familiar. The vehicle pulled up in front of him and the person driving it peeped it's horn at him, he soon heard a woman's voice from the open window.

" Hey hot stuff, do you need a ride?" She asked.

" Darcy?" Peter asked before he approached the vehicle. " What are you doing here?!"

" Oh you know I'm just out on a little joyride." Darcy replied, she rested her arm on the open window. " Where are you heading? Did you need a lift?"

" Back into the town." Peter replied, he tilted his head to one side and rested his hands on his hips. " I'm looking for Monica, she could be danger. Have you seen her?"

" Weird, I'm actually looking for somebody too!" Darcy replied. " A tall guy with red skin, he goes by the name Vision."

" Wait, you know Vision?" Peter asked.

" Yeah I do, he saved my arse from a circus career!" Darcy said in a humorous tone. " Have you seen him? The guy up and left me at a crossroads, kind of rude if you ask me."

" He's heading into town, there's some shit going down with Wanda." Peter said before he looked back along the highway. " I should get going, I need to find Monica."

" Good luck out there, Peter Maximoff." Darcy said with a smile. " It was nice knowing you, keep safe out there."

" Take care, Darcy Lewis." Peter smiled.

Peter waved to Darcy before she drove off down the highway, he hoped his new friend would stay out of Wanda's way. Pulling his goggles over his eyes the world around him slowed down, the barrier above him rippled and continued to keep the outside world out. Peter zoomed down the highway and entered the town, he made his way through the streets before he found himself near the ice cream stall on the sidewalk. He pulled his goggles away from his eyes and watched some people hurrying passed him, there was panic on the streets of Westview.

" Hey, what's going on here?!" Peter asked, he stopped a random man on the sidewalk by grabbing hold of his arm. " Where's everyone going?!"

" She's letting us out!" He said, he pointed towards the barrier. " Leave while you still can!"

Peter let go of the man's arm and looked up at the barrier, there was blue sky shining through an opening in the barrier on the other side of the town. The citizens of Westview were hurrying towards the open part of the barrier, she was allowing them to leave. Peter stayed on the sidewalk while he watched the people fleeing the town, he didn't want to get in Wanda's way in case he endangered himself in the process. The buildings around him began to flicker, the decades Wanda had created began to show. It seemed like the more Wanda used her magic the more her magical barrier weakened, she was draining her magic with has each spell she cast. Vision's voice caught Peter's attention, he was crumbling and fading away before his very eyes. It wasn't long until the twins appeared, they fell to the ground and cried out for their Mother.

" Wanda!" Vision yelled.

" Mom!" Billy yelled.

" Save us!" Tommy yelled

Peter watched has the twins and Vision crumbling away, they were calling to Wanda for help. Peter couldn't help Wanda since she was the one controlling the town, he dared not disturb her. He had no idea what was going on, he could only watch on in horror has Wanda's magic destroyed her family while she tried to free the citizens of Westview. His attention was soon caught by Agatha's voice, she was toying with Wanda's mind and emotions.

" Save Westview or your Family!" Agatha said.

Peter's gaze soon found Agatha, her untamed hair and witchy appearance kind of creeped him out. Agatha told Wanda that her powers were connected to her family, she could only save one. Wanda screamed and fell to her knees, the barrier began to close and her family returned to their normal human forms. Her family hurried towards her, she embraced her children and kissed them in turn. Agatha didn't look pleased, her darkened hands reached for them before a purple glow engulfed them.

" Really!" Agatha said.

" No!" Wanda yelled.

Wanda shielded her family from Agatha's magical attack while she screamed, her powers were being taken away from her by the purple witch. Peter looked around at his surroundings and spotted a Frisbee not far away from him, he had an idea. He zoomed over to it and picked it up from the ground before he aimed it at Agatha, he used his speed to throw it at the witch. The Frisbee flew through the air and hit the purple witch hard in the face, it seemed to stun her. Peter zoomed over to Wanda and her family, he was ready to fight along side of them if needed.

" Mom!" Tommy said.

" Mom, are you okay?" Billy asked.

" I'm okay, babies." Wanda replied, she looked at fake sibling and smiled slightly at him." Peter, you're here..."

" Hey, I thought I'd gatecrash the party." Peter said before he looked down at Wanda's hands and pointed at them " I don't think all the hand lotion in the world is gonna fix that. What's going on? How can I help?"

Wanda deeply sighed at Peter before her attention was drawn back to Agatha standing on the building's rooftop, she was still dazed by Peter's Frisbee attack. Wanda raised from the ground and flew towards Agatha, she seemed to disappear for a brief second before she reappeared behind the purple witch. Her fingers wiggled before a red mist devoured them both, they couldn't see Wanda or Agatha anymore. The twins looked worried about their Mother, it wasn't long until Peter broke the silence.

" Where'd they go?" Peter asked.

" I cannot tell you, friend." Vision replied, he glanced at Peter before his gaze returned to the building. " But where ever Wanda is I hope she's safe..."

" She can handle it, she's a Maximoff." Peter said.

The sky above them rumbled with thunder, they could see flashes of red lightning and powerful blasts of light. The twins huggled with their Father, they were fearing for their Mother's safety. Peter and Vision's gaze met for a brief second, they were worried about Wanda too. It wasn't long until Wanda reappeared with Agatha, they were battling above them. Agatha crackled and aimed her magical blast at Wanda, but she managed to dodge it.

" Release your burden!" Agatha yelled.

They continued to battle each other in the sky, they dodged and cast magical blasts at each other. But without any warning Wanda managed to hit Agatha with a couple of magical blasts of her own, she seemed to absorb Wanda's magic. The purple witch laughed and continued to take the Scarlet Witch's powers, the sky above them became crimson.

" About our deal..." Agatha said, her speaking tone was cruel. " Once a spell has been cast it can't be changed. This world you made will always be broken. Just like you."

Agatha reached her hands towards Wanda, the expression on her face was cruel. She went to cast a spell, but it didn't got to plan. Her fingers looked burnt, she had no more magic to cast. Wanda's gaze focused on Agatha, she raised her hand and moved her fingers in a weird manner. The familiar red magic danced around her fingers, her power still remained. Agatha looked panicked, she looked over her shoulder. There were symbols in the sky, a spell had been cast.

" In a given space only the witch who cast them can use her magic." Wanda said.

" Roots..." Agatha said.

" Thanks for the lesson." Wanda said. " But I don't need you to tell me who I am."

" No!" Agatha said.

Wanda's eye glowed red while a head dress magical appeared on her forehead, her appearance was changing. A fiery glow surrounded her, her magic was growing stronger. Agatha screamed before her magic was pulled from her body by the Scarlet Witch. Peter shielded his eyes, the sky above them was bright. He couldn't help but get flashbacks of Jean, the chaos unfolding above him remind him of the solar flare she had absorb in space to save her teammates. Those memories still haunted him, he feared the same outcome would happen to Wanda if she didn't choose the right path to follow.

The bright light soon began to settle, it wasn't long until Wanda became clear to everyone below her. Wanda's appearance had changed, she was wearing something new. Her gaze remained on Agatha, she hadn't finished with the purple witch just yet. Agatha looked fearful, her voice soon broke the silence between them.

" Oh god, you don't know what you have done..." Agatha said.

The sky began to clear and the sun shone brightly, the magical barrier that once covered the town was disappearing. Wanda and Agatha began to lower towards the ground, the town of Westview had been released from the magical hold Wanda once had upon it. Agatha fell to the ground while Wanda landed on her feet, the battle was finally over.

" Mom!" Billy yelled.

The twins hurried towards Wanda and hugged her tightly, her husband soon joined them. Peter watched them enjoying their family reunion, but he knew it wouldn't last. Wanda was going lose her family, she had chosen to save Westview instead of her family. Peter gave them a moment together before he approached them, he smiled at Wanda and checked out her new outfit. She looked like a superhero, the suit style she had created for herself suited her.

" I'm not gonna lie, you look different." Peter said.

" I think Mom looks rad!" Tommy smiled.

" I guess she's lost her lameness, I'm diggn' it!" Peter smiled and ruffled up Tommy's hair. " But you look good, I like your new style."

" You boys never stop, do you?" Wanda asked.

" Nope." Tommy replied.

Wanda rolled her eyes at them and turned her attention back towards Agatha, she was kneeling on the ground not far away from them. The Scarlet Witch approached her once friend of this wacky town, she kindly smiled at the fallen witch and cupped her hands together. Agatha gave Wanda a cruel expression, she had failed her mission to take Wanda's chaos magic. Peter rested his hand on Tommy's shoulder and watched Wanda speaking with Agatha, he had no idea what Wanda planned to do with powerless broken witch.

" So what now?" Agatha asked.

" I'll give you the role you choice." Wanda replied, she took a step towards her. " The Nosy neighbour."

" You have... you have no idea what you've unleashed!" Agatha said, there was fear in her voice. " You're gonna need me... wait, wait wait!"

Wanda reached her hand towards Agatha, the look of panic and fear crept across her face. But in moments she returned to the smiling nosy neighbour she had been playing before she revealed her true identity to Wanda. A cheerful laugh escaped her lips, she looked up at Wanda with a bright smile on her face.

" You live here now." Wanda said calmly. " No one will ever bother you."

" Say, that's some kinda getup you're wearing." Agatha said.

" I'll be seeing you, Agnes." Wanda said.

" Not if I see you first, hon!" Agnes called.

A dorky laugh escaped Peter's lips while Wanda approached them, she had a smile on her face. She touched Billy's shoulder before she turned her attention towards Peter, he wasn't expecting her to hug him tightly. He returned her embrace and closed his eyes, he knew that he had made the right decision by staying behind to help Wanda instead of returned to his own reality with his family.

" Thank you..." Wanda said before she pulled herself way from him. " For everything, I'm forever grateful. I hope you manage to find your way back home. I bet your family are worried sick about you, especially Erik and your Mother."

" Don't you worry about me, I'll get back home." Peter said, he rested his hands on Wanda's arms and looked over at her family. " Just worry about your family, they're more important than me right now."

" You're right, thank you." Wanda smiled.

Wanda kissed Peter's cheek before she turned her attention towards her boys, the twins were busy watching everything that was going on around them. Vision approached Peter next, he had a grateful expression on his face. The twins soon joined their Father's side, they were here to say goodbye to their fake family member. Billy and Tommy smiled at him while Vision offered Peter his hand, he shook his friend's hand.

" Thank you, Peter." Vision said while he shook his hand. " I hope you find your way home, this world isn't ready for you just yet. Especially your jokes, they are rather odd."

" I will, don't you worry about that." Peter smiled.

" Goodbye, Uncle P." Tommy said.

" We'll miss you." Billy said.

" I'll miss you guys too." Peter smiled before he crouched down to the twin's eye level. " Take care of yourselves, I think we'll see each other again at some point in the future. I've got a weird feeling in my stomach, but that could just be your Mother's cooking."

" I heard that!" Wanda said.

" You were meant to hear it!" Peter chuckled before he returned his attention to the twins." But seriously, I think our paths will cross again."

" Me too." Tommy smiled.

" I hope it's soon." Billy said.

Peter opened his arms wide and the boys hugged him together, he was going to miss them both. They may not be his real family, but he felt like there was a connection between them. He pulled the twins away from him and rested his hands on their shoulders, he told them both to take care of their Mother. Vision stepped forward and told the boys that it was time to go home now, they waved to Peter before their Father began to lead them towards Wanda.

" Peter!"

Peter looked over his shoulder when he heard someone calling his name, he saw Monica walking towards him. The twins waved to Monica while they walked passed her, she waved back to them before they joined Wanda. Peter watched them walking together down the street, he glanced at Monica before his gaze returned to the Maximoff family.

" I guess this is the end for Wanda's happy family..." Peter said with sigh. " It's going to be hard for her, I can't even imagine what she's going through right now."

" I can." Monica said, her gaze lingered on the street ahead of them. " I lost my Mom three years ago without even knowing it..."

" Do you wanna talk about it?" Peter asked, he looked at his friend. " I'm a support teacher in my reality, I'm a good listener."

" That's hard to believe since you never shut up." Monica replied with smile. " But thank you, I know you mean well."

A dorky laugh escaped his lips, she was right. They stood and watched everyone around them, the town of Westview wasn't much of a danger zone anymore. Agatha was now Agnes, she had left not long ago and returned to her home. She was now a normal citizen of Westview, it felt weird that Wanda had spared her from her witchy wrath. But she had done the right thing, being a nosy neighbour forever was a good punishment for Agatha.

" Captain Monica!"

They both looked over their shoulders when they heard a man calling Monica's name, she smiled and greeted the man when he approached them. Peter eyed the man up curiously while he crossed his arms, he was wearing a FBI jacket with a suit beneath it. He had a walkie talkie in his hand, he seemed to be on friendly terms with Monica.

" Jimmy, you finally made it!" Monica said.

" Who's the suit?" Peter asked.

" We've not formally met yet, but I've seen you on television." Jimmy said, he offered Peter his hand and smiled at him. " I'm Jimmy Woo, I'm a federal liaison offer working alongside S.W.O.R.D. It's a pleasure to met you, I'd like to speak to you at some point. Are your friends still in this location? I know you weren't alone. I'd like to speak with them too."

" Are you FBI?" Peter asked.

" Yeah, is there a problem?" Jimmy asked.

" Nope." Peter replied.

" Jimmy, this is Peter." Monica said.

" Peter and not Pietro?" Jimmy asked.

" Yeah, the name's Peter Maximoff." Peter replied before he shook the agent's hand. " It's a long story, I'm not from this reality. I'm guessing you'll work that out at some point, but I'm not Wanda's twin Brother."

" I've kind of worked that out for myself, but it's nice to met you." Jimmy said.

" Likewise." Peter said.

" If you would excuse me, I've got a couple of people I need to speak to about my missing person case." Jimmy said, he looked at Monica and rested his hands on his hips. " We also need to talk, come and find me when you're ready."

" Sure." Monica said.

Peter watched Jimmy leave, he was curious about this FBI agent. He himself had a close encountered with the FBI once back in his reality in the seventies, they had been investing a bank robbery in his city. It had nothing to do with Peter, but they had somehow managed to turn up on his doorstep since his name popped up in the Police Station. Peter's thoughts were interrupted by Monica clearing her throat, he soon broke the silence between them.

" So, you're a Captain huh?" Peter asked.

" Yeah, didn't I mention that to you?" Monica asked.

" Not really, you were kind of hostile when we first met." Peter replied.

" If I recall you were kind of being bossy." Monica said with a smile. " Also you crept up on me when I was scoping out Agnes's house, who does that?"

" A guy on a mission, that's who." Peter chuckled.

" You're still weird." Monica smiled.

" And don't you forget it." Peter said.

" Well, I guess this is where we part ways." Monica said.

" Yeah, I guess you're right." Peter said.

" It was nice meeting you, Peter." Monica said, she offered him her hand. " Good luck out there, I think you're gonna need it."

" You too, Monica." Peter smiled.

Peter shook Monica's hand before he pulled her into a hug, he felt like he owed her more than a hand shake after everything they had been through together. Monica returned his embrace, she told him to take care of himself. He pulled himself away from her and patted her shoulder before she went to find Jimmy, he was going to miss her. Sighing to himself Peter looked around the town square, the place had been trashed from the witchy battle. There were citizens and military soldiers wandering around the square, he felt alone for the first since he had arrived in Westview. He had no idea where to go or what to do, he was trapped in this reality until he figured out how to get back to his own reality.
